Abstract
Air-cooled and water-cooled charge air coolers are used as applications in automobiles. The cooling media include engine’s
coolant, ambient air or any other external coolant source. Charge air cooler with offset strip fin geometry is chosen on both hot
and cold sides with fin thickness 0.15 mm, length 3.2 mm, height 5.2 mm and frequency of 18 fins per inch. The flow rate on hot
side is taken as 0.3 kg/s and cold side as 2 kg/s for air-cooled charge air cooler and for water-cooled charge air cooler on hot
side it is 0.3 kg/s and cold side is 0.265 kg/s with inlet temperature on hot side 160 oC and cold side 40 oC. With the above
conditions, performance evaluation is done on both charge air coolers. Having found water-cooled charge air cooler is having
higher effectiveness than air-cooled type, performance evaluation is carried out on water-cooled charge air cooler with varying
mass flow rates on hot side from 0.1 to 0.6 kg/s and keeping cold fluid rate constant at 0.265 kg/s and the outputs obtained are

Improving the Heat Transfer Rate for Multi Cylinder Engine Piston and Piston ...IOSR Journals
The four stroke otto engine uses just one of the four strokes to perform work. This causes various
problems: The engine runs jerkily, and this can only be prevented by a large flywheel, which needs a lot of
space and weights pretty much in addition. In this thesis, thermal loads and pressures produced in the multi
cylinder petrol engine Toyota 86 Car by varying compression ratios 14:1, 15:1, 18:1, 20:1 and 25:1 are
calculated by mathematical correlations And also calculating the effect of these thermal loads on piston and
piston rings by varying materials Cast Iron, Aluminum Alloy 6061 for piston and Cast Iron and Steel for piston
rings.FEA transient thermal analysis is performed on the parametric model to validate the effect of thermal
loads on piston and piston rings for different materials. The optimum value of compression ratio and the better
material is determined by analysis results to improve the heat transfer rate of multi cylinder engine piston and
piston rings. Dynamic analysis is done on the piston by applying the pressures developed and also static
analysis by applying the maximum pressure.
An exhaust heat recovery system turns waste heat energy in exhaust gases into electric energy for batteries or mechanical energy put on the crankshaft.
The technology is of increasing interest as car and heavy-duty vehicle manufacturers continue to increase efficiency, saving fuel and reducing emissions.
While technological improvements have greatly reduced the fuel consumption of internal combustion engines, the peak thermal efficiency of a 4-stroke Otto cycle engine is around 35%, which means that 65% of the energy released from the fuel is lost as heat.

An approach to evaluate the heat exchanger retrofit for installed industrial ...eSAT Journals
Abstract This paper is the first part of a two-part study aiming to introduce a new integrated approach to evaluate the techno-economic value of recuperator retrofit on existing gas turbine engines. The original gas turbines are designed for combined cycles so that the pressure ratios are moderate to secure suitable exhaust temperatures. One way to enhance the thermal efficiency of some gas turbines is by using recuperation to recover some of the exhaust heat. In this part, the developed model is described and implemented for two gas turbine engines so the obtained characteristics are evaluated against the actual data. The new approach will assist users to select the suitable gas turbine models with favorable recuperator characteristics based on a technical and economic prospective. Besides, the performance results are used to design an appropriate shell and tube heat exchanger. Moreover, a new technique has been established to define the typical heat exchanger parameters in order to ensure the highest possible improvements over the original cycles. One of the main features of this method is that it depends only on the velocity of hot and cold heat exchanger streams from which the rest of the heat exchanger design and performance characteristics were derived. Key Words: integrated approach, techno-economic value, recuperation, shell and tube heat exchanger, velocity
STUDY ON THE BEHAVIOUR OF CUO NANO PARTICLES IN RADIATOR HEAT EXCHANGER FOR A...P singh
In this present study, the forced convective heat transfer performance of automobile radiator has been studied experimentally by using Nano fluid (CuO-Water) as a coolant for an automobile radiator.. Experimental works were conducted to investigate the effect of Copper-Oxide (CuO) nanoparticles volume concentration and the operating temperatures on the rate of Nano fluids heat transfer in a radiator heat Exchanger. CuO nanoparticles were mixed with the base fluid water and also Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS) powder was added to enhance the mixing process and stabilize the dispersion of the Nano fluids. Experimental runs were conducted at varying operating temperatures which include that, CuO-water at different temperature such as 40℃, 50℃, 60℃, 70℃, 75℃, 78℃, 80℃, 83℃. Among the operating temperatures selected for study 80℃, gives the best performance in heat transfer and the convection heat transfer coefficient. The results of the current work generally indicate that Nano fluids have the potential to enhance the heat transfer of a compact heat exchanger. Results indicate that, best overall heat transfer coefficient for the radiator is obtained at a hot fluid inlet temperature of 80℃, and at a flow rate of 0.075kg/sec.
The increasingly worldwide problem regarding rapid economy development and a relative shortage of
energy. Out of the total heat supplied to the engine in the form of fuel, approximately, 30 to 40% is converted
into useful mechanical work. With the rapid changing environment and atmospheric effect, the air conditioning
of the moving vehicle has become a necessity. In the same time consumers are incapable to bear the increasing
operating cost of the vehicles due to continuous raise in fuel prices, component costs and maintenance costs
associated with vehicles. Keep in mind in this paper, an exploration has been done to research the possibility of
waste heat recovery and its subsequent utilization in air conditioning system of a vehicle without increasing the
component cost, weight, number of component and bring improvement in vehicle by making luxurious. In this
system the Shell and Tube HE type will be used, designed and developed along with vapour absorption

Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.

Cosmetic shop management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
Buying new cosmetic products is difficult. It can even be scary for those who have sensitive skin and are prone to skin trouble. The information needed to alleviate this problem is on the back of each product, but it's thought to interpret those ingredient lists unless you have a background in chemistry.
Instead of buying and hoping for the best, we can use data science to help us predict which products may be good fits for us. It includes various function programs to do the above mentioned tasks.
Data file handling has been effectively used in the program.
The automated cosmetic shop management system should deal with the automation of general workflow and administration process of the shop. The main processes of the system focus on customer's request where the system is able to search the most appropriate products and deliver it to the customers. It should help the employees to quickly identify the list of cosmetic product that have reached the minimum quantity and also keep a track of expired date for each cosmetic product. It should help the employees to find the rack number in which the product is placed. It is also Faster and more efficient way.
