The document presents an experimental study that investigated the behavior and load carrying capacity of reinforced concrete columns strengthened with external steel confinement. Four column specimens were tested: one unconfined conventional column, two confined with steel battens, and one with additional steel rods. The confined columns exhibited higher load capacities, energy absorption, and ductility than the conventional column. The top, middle, and bottom batten confinement provided the highest resistance to loading and failure initiated by buckling of the steel angles after yielding. The study demonstrated that external steel confinement can effectively strengthen reinforced concrete columns.

Abstract Compared to conventional steel sections, the Steel Hollow Sections have better structural performance due to excellent properties of the tubular shape with regard to loading in compression, torsion and bending in all directions. In many structural engineering applications Hollow Sections are widely used such as airport terminal buildings, railway stations, industrial structures, etc. Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) strengthening of structures has been with success applied to concrete structures, and additionally it applied to steel structures recently. In hollow section, Steel-CFRP composite combine the benefits of the high strength to weight ratio and more ductile. This paper presents an experimental investigation carried out with two different matrix layouts of carbon fibres on the axial capacity and crushing behaviour of CFRP strengthened Circular Hollow Section (CHS). With and without CFRP wrapping the experiments were conducted on short steel columns. From the experimental studies It has been inferred that the application of CFRP to short column sections increases ductility of the section and also increases axial load carrying capacity of the section. To improve the performance of existing structures, Carbon fibre could also be with success externally bonded to metal CHS, and such application could also be provided. Abstract Light gauge steel lipped channel sections are being used popularly in shops, factories, automobile engineering and industries on account of their high strength to width ratio, simplicity in construction, flexibility in fabrication and high structural efficiency. A lot of research work has been carried out to study the structural behavior of axially loaded light gauge steel lipped column sections considering different parameters. However, structural behavior of light gauge steel lipped channel sections under eccentric loading has not received much attention. The present paper focuses on the experimental study of structural behavior of light gauge steel lipped channel sections under eccentric loading by varying loading position in between center of gravity and shear center of channel column section. Finite element analysis of the section is also done using Abaqus software for different positions of the load. The results indicate that, load carrying capacity of the section increases as the loading position shifts towards supported edge of the section. The failure of the section occurs in the form of local-distortional buckling approximately between 1/3rd - ½ of the height of column. Results obtained by software are found to be in good agreement with experimental results. numerical method. The most of the test procedure has to comply with international standards, which establishes
minimum mechanical requirements and impact collision characteristics of wheels. Numerical implementation of
impact test is convenient for shorten the design time and lower development cost. In this study cast aluminium
alloy wheel rim are used for simulation of impact test by using 3–D explicit finite element methods. The design
of aluminium alloy wheel for automobile application which is carried out and paying special attention to
optimization of the shape and mass of the wheel rim according to aesthetical point of view, to overcome the
wheel cap. A finite element model of the wheel with its tire and striker were developed taking account of the
nonlinearity material properties. Simulation was conducted to study the stress and displacement distributions
during impact test. The analyses results are presented as a function of time. The study is carried under the above
constraints and the results are taken to carryout for further analysis i.e. shape and weight optimization of the
wheel.

Through a comparative analysis approach and eight weeks of data collection, the study addressed key research questions related to solar radiation patterns and optimal system design. The findings highlighted regions with heightened solar radiation levels, showcasing substantial potential for power generation and emphasizing the system's efficiency. Optimizing system design significantly boosted power generation, promoted renewable energy utilization, and enhanced energy storage capacity. The study underscored the benefits of optimizing hybrid solar PV panels and pumped hydro energy supply systems for sustainable energy usage. Optimizing the design of solar PV panels and pumped hydro energy supply systems as examined across diverse climatic conditions in a developing country, not only enhances power generation but also improves the integration of renewable energy sources and boosts energy storage capacities, particularly beneficial for less economically prosperous regions. Additionally, the study provides valuable insights for advancing energy research in economically viable areas. Recommendations included conducting site-specific assessments, utilizing advanced modeling tools, implementing regular maintenance protocols, and enhancing communication among system components.

Power plants release a large amount of water vapor into the
atmosphere through the stack. The flue gas can be a potential
source for obtaining much needed cooling water for a power
plant. If a power plant could recover and reuse a portion of this
moisture, it could reduce its total cooling water intake
requirement. One of the most practical way to recover water
from flue gas is to use a condensing heat exchanger. The power
plant could also recover latent heat due to condensation as well
as sensible heat due to lowering the flue gas exit temperature.
Additionally, harmful acids released from the stack can be

Condensation of vapors in flue gas is a complicated
phenomenon since heat and mass transfer of water vapor and
various acids simultaneously occur in the presence of noncondensable
gases such as nitrogen and oxygen. Design of a
condenser depends on the knowledge and understanding of the
heat and mass transfer processes. A computer program for
numerical simulations of water (H2O) and sulfuric acid (H2SO4)
condensation in a flue gas condensing heat exchanger was
developed using MATLAB. Governing equations based on
mass and energy balances for the system were derived to
predict variables such as flue gas exit temperature, cooling
water outlet temperature, mole fraction and condensation rates
of water and sulfuric acid vapors. The equations were solved
using an iterative solution technique with calculations of heat
and mass transfer coefficients and physical properties.

This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.
