This document describes a study on optimizing the shell and piston of a refrigerator compressor to reduce weight and increase efficiency. The current shell and piston designs are modeled in CATIA and analyzed in ANSYS to determine stress distributions. Various optimization methods are then explored, including changing dimensions while keeping the same material, and changing the material while keeping dimensions the same. Iterative analyses are performed to identify optimized designs that reduce weight by 30-50% while still meeting strength requirements. The optimized designs will lower the power consumption and running costs of the refrigerator compressor.

In these paper structural fields of the solid disc brake during short and emergency braking with four different materials is studied. The distribution of the tempe rature depends on the various factors such as frict ion, surface roughness and speed. The effect of the angular velo city and the contact pressure induces the temperatu re rise of disc brake. The finite element simulation for three -dimensional model was preferred due to the heat fl ux ratio constantly distributed in circumferential direction . Here value of temperature, friction contact power, nodal displacement and deformation for different pressure condition using analysis software with four materi als namely cast iron, cast steel, aluminium and carbon fibre reinforced plastic are taken. Presently the D isc brakes are made up of cast iron and cast steel. With the v alue of simulation result best suitable material fo r the brake drum with higher life span is determined.

Air Cooled Engines have been used in a variety of applications, ranging from airplanes to motorbikes and even stationary or portable engines. Since modern automobiles and airplanes use engines delivering more power, they have to be cooled more efficiently due to which a more complex water cooling system is used for cooling engines with large displacements. Hence air cooling is becoming a thing of the past, especially in the aviation sector due to the advent of more efficient gas turbine engines. However air cooled internal combustion engines are still being used in a wide variety of two-wheelers ranging from small single cylinder engines to heavy duty liter class V-twins and Inline fours, due to the non-practicalities associated with the installment of a bulky water cooling system in two-wheelers. So one can ascertain that there is a scope for improving the efficiency of air cooled engines even further. The objective of this paper is to analyze currently existing fin design employed in most of the air cooled engines and improve it by changing the cross-section to a streamlined one and also making the fins in a helical orientation as opposed to the regular circular fins employed. Our analysis comprises of a computational fluid dynamics study of both the fin models with identical dimensions and simulated in the same environment using ANSYS FLUENT 15 software and we attempt to compare their performance using the temperature and heat transfer coefficient distribution plots obtained.

STRUCTURAL AND THERMAL ANALYSIS OF DISC BRAKE USING SOLIDWORKS AND ANSYSIAEME Publication
Braking system represents one of the most fundamental safety critical components in modern vehicles. Brake absorbs kinetic energy of the rotating parts (Wheels) and the energy is dissipated in the form of heat energy to the surrounding atmosphere. It decelerates or stops the vehicle. When brake is applied to the disc brake it is subjected to high stress, thus it may suffer structural and wear issues. Hence for the better performance, structural, stress and the thermal analysis is preferred to choose low stress material.

The selection of parameters in grinding process remains as a crucial role to guarantee that the machined product quality is at the minimum production cost and maximum production rate. Therefore, it is required to utilize more advance and effective optimization methods to obtain the optimum parameters and resulting an improvement on the grinding performance. In this paper, three optimization algorithms which are particle swarm optimization (PSO), gravitational search, and Sine Cosine algorithms are employed to optimize the grinding process parameters that may either reduce the cost, increase the productivity or obtain the finest surface finish and resulting a higher grinding process performance. The efficiency of the three algorithms are evaluated and comparedwith previous results obtained by other optimization methods on similar studies. The experimental results showed that PSO algorithm achieves better optimization performance in the aspect of convergence rate and accuracy of best solution.Whereas in the comparison of results of previous researchers, the obtained result of PSO proves that it is efficient in solving the complicated mathematical model of surface grinding process with different conditions.

The heat generated due to friction during braking operation causes several important negative effects on the brake system. It is then important to determine the temperature field of the brake disc. In the present work, a transient thermo-mechanical finite element analysis (FEA) is performed to determine the braking efficiency of a Carbon Ceramic disk brake and compared to a Glass Fiber (S-2) brakes. The aim of the work is to investigate the rise of the temperature of the disk brake under severe braking conditions and the stresses generated from it. The investigation will be done using ANSYS software. ANSYS is a powerful FE package used to determine stress, strain and heat transfer in complicated problems

The proposed project is developed to manage the automobile in the automobile dealer company. The main module in this project is login, automobile management, customer management, sales, complaints and reports. The first module is the login. The automobile showroom owner should login to the project for usage. The username and password are verified and if it is correct, next form opens. If the username and password are not correct, it shows the error message.
When a customer search for a automobile, if the automobile is available, they will be taken to a page that shows the details of the automobile including automobile name, automobile ID, quantity, price etc. “Automobile Management System” is useful for maintaining automobiles, customers effectively and hence helps for establishing good relation between customer and automobile organization. It contains various customized modules for effectively maintaining automobiles and stock information accurately and safely.
When the automobile is sold to the customer, stock will be reduced automatically. When a new purchase is made, stock will be increased automatically. While selecting automobiles for sale, the proposed software will automatically check for total number of available stock of that particular item, if the total stock of that particular item is less than 5, software will notify the user to purchase the particular item.
Also when the user tries to sale items which are not in stock, the system will prompt the user that the stock is not enough. Customers of this system can search for a automobile; can purchase a automobile easily by selecting fast. On the other hand the stock of automobiles can be maintained perfectly by the automobile shop manager overcoming the drawbacks of existing system.
Courier management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
It is now-a-days very important for the people to send or receive articles like imported furniture, electronic items, gifts, business goods and the like. People depend vastly on different transport systems which mostly use the manual way of receiving and delivering the articles. There is no way to track the articles till they are received and there is no way to let the customer know what happened in transit, once he booked some articles. In such a situation, we need a system which completely computerizes the cargo activities including time to time tracking of the articles sent. This need is fulfilled by Courier Management System software which is online software for the cargo management people that enables them to receive the goods from a source and send them to a required destination and track their status from time to time.

Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.

CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!
Work done in cooperation with James Malloy and David Moelling from Tetra Engineering.
