This document describes the design, analysis, and implementation of a spirometer. It begins with an abstract that explains spirometry is a pulmonary function test that measures air volume and flow from a patient's breath. The goal of the project is to develop a mobile spirometer using sensing assemblies. It then provides background on spirometry and the conditions it can detect. The document outlines the prototype construction, design details, calibration, and signal conditioning through MATLAB. It describes experimentation with the designed spirometer, including testing procedures. Results are presented and discussed, with the conclusion being the new designed spirometer is more user friendly and accurate than previous models.
