This document compares different methods for measuring respiratory rate (RR) including using status sensors, infrared imaging sensors, and pressure sensors. It first reviews current RR measurement techniques using contact sensors like electrical impedance sensors and pressure sensors or non-contact sensors like infrared imaging and fiber Bragg grating sensors. It then describes testing RR using a status sensor (MPU-6050) that measures acceleration, an infrared imaging sensor, and commercial pressure sensors. It discusses signal processing methods like the quaternion-based filter, Kalman filter, and zero-crossing test that can be applied to the sensor signals to determine RR. Results show the feasibility of using the status sensor and infrared imaging sensor for RR measurement compared to commercial pressure sensors.
Rolling Element Bearing Condition Monitoring using Filtered Acoustic Emission IJECEIAES
The defect present in the bearing of a rolling element may affect the performance of the rotating machinery and may reduce its efficiency. For this reason the condition monitoring of a rolling element bearing is very essential. So many measuring parameters are there to diagnose the fault in a rolling element bearing. Acoustic signature monitoring is one of them. Every rolling element bearing has its own acoustic signature when it is in healthy condition and when the bearing get defected then there is a change in its original acoustic signature. This change in acoustic signature can be monitored and analyzed to detect the fault present in the bearing. But the noise present in the acquired acoustic signal may affect the analysis. So the noisy acoustic signal must be filtered before the analysis. In this work the experiment is performed in two stages. In first stage the filtration of the acquired acoustic signal is done by employing the active noise cancellation (ANC) filtering techniques. In second stage the filtered signal is used for the further analysis. For the analysis initially the static analysis is done and then the frequency and the time-frequency analysis is done to diagnose the defect in the bearing. From all the three analysis the information about the defect present in the bearing is well detected.
Accuracy Improvement of PM Measuring Instrumentsijtsrd
The PM10 concentration in the underground areas should be monitored to protect the health of the commuters in the underground subway system. The purpose of this work is to study the reliability of the instruments using light scattering method to measure the PM10 concentrations continuously. A linear regression analysis method is used to improve the performance of the instruments using light scattering method. Some experimental results show that a linear regression technique would be very helpful for the performance improvement of light scattering instruments such as Air test PM2500 and HCT 4103. ESPRIT Method Enhancement for Real-time Wind Turbine Fault RecognitionIAES-IJPEDS
Early fault diagnosis plays a very important role in the modern energy production systems. The wind turbine machine requires a regular maintenance to guarantee an acceptable lifetime and to minimize production loss. In order to implement a fast, proactive condition monitoring, ESPRIT- TLS method seems the correct choice due to its robustness in improving the frequency and amplitude detection. Nevertheless, it has a very complex computation to implement in real time. To avoid this problem, a Fast- ESPRIT algorithm that combined the IIR band-pass filtering technique, the decimation technique and the original ESPRIT-TLS method were employed to enhance extracting accurately frequencies and their magnitudes from the wind stator current. The proposed algorithm has been evaluated by computer simulations with many fault scenarios. Study results demonstrate the performance of Fast-ESPRIT allowing fast and high resolution harmonics identification with minimum computation time and less memory cost.

Measurement of physiological parameters like respiration rate is crucial in field of medicine. Respiration
rate can indicate the state of rhythmic behaviour of heart and proper gaseous exchange in blood. As per
Medical research, respiratory rate is regarded as the marker of pulmonary dysfunction. Respiration rate
meters are used in measuring CO2 in expired air and in apnea detectors. It is also used in daily
physiological tests like stress-o-meter for assessing ones level of stress that he/she can perceive in life after
monitoring respiration rate, pulse rate and heart rate. This paper shed lights on the development of a lowcost

A method to remove chattering alarms using median filtersISA Interchange
Chattering alarms are the most found nuisance alarms that will probably reduce the usability and result in a confidence crisis of alarm systems for industrial plants. This paper addresses the chattering alarm reduction using median filters. Two rules are formulated to design the window size of median filters. If the alarm probability is estimated using process data, one rule is based on the probability of alarms to satisfy some requirements on the false alarm rate, or missed alarm rate. If there are only historical alarm data available, the other rule is based on percentage reduction of chattering alarms using alarm duration distribution. Experimental results for industrial cases testify that the proposed method is effective.

Development of a Multichannel Analyzer for Radioactive Isotopes Detectionijtsrd
This report is a summary of work carried out at Defence Laboratory DRDO Jodhpur during internship as a part of Masters of Computer Application. The report is the brief description of study about the Multichannel Analyzer and crystallization of work. The work helps in developing insight on a state of the robust technology MCA to identify radioisotopes during the nuclear emergency. Study of Multichannel Analyzer is in the way that it would be able to store the spectrum that is to be displayed. Ferventness of MCA spectrum is classified further in two parts respectively which are Energy spectrum that is Calibrated and Pulse Height spectrum which is non calibrated. A new approach to problem solving is in the direction of feasible survey, and in addition to this requires a remarkably low down time by measuring the spectrum pattern on site in nuclear emergency. The solution is the so called near field spectrum pattern measurement method, which requires mathematical parameters and algorithms. Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power SystemKerry Sado
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.
Cosmetic shop management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
Buying new cosmetic products is difficult. It can even be scary for those who have sensitive skin and are prone to skin trouble. The information needed to alleviate this problem is on the back of each product, but it's thought to interpret those ingredient lists unless you have a background in chemistry.
Instead of buying and hoping for the best, we can use data science to help us predict which products may be good fits for us. It includes various function programs to do the above mentioned tasks.
Data file handling has been effectively used in the program.
The automated cosmetic shop management system should deal with the automation of general workflow and administration process of the shop. The main processes of the system focus on customer's request where the system is able to search the most appropriate products and deliver it to the customers. It should help the employees to quickly identify the list of cosmetic product that have reached the minimum quantity and also keep a track of expired date for each cosmetic product. It should help the employees to find the rack number in which the product is placed. It is also Faster and more efficient way.
