This document compares different maximum power point tracking (MPPT) techniques used in photovoltaic (PV) systems. It evaluates the performance of incremental conductance (INC), perturb-and-observe (P&O), and fuzzy logic controller (FLC) MPPT techniques under changing weather conditions. The results show that INC performed the best in both dynamic response and steady-state operation, followed by P&O and FLC. It also discusses issues with conventional MPPT techniques like continuous oscillation around the maximum power point and loss of tracking direction during rapid irradiance increases. A modified P&O technique is proposed to address these issues simultaneously.

In this paper, a solar PV (Photovoltaic) array, a battery energy storage (BES), a diesel generator (DG) set and grid based EV charging station (CS) is utilized to provide the incessant charging in islanded, grid connected and DG set connected modes. The charging station is primarily designed to use the solar photovoltaic PV array and a BES to charge the electric vehicle (EV) battery. However, in case of exhausted storage battery and unavailable solar PV array generation, the charging station intelligently takes power from the grid or DG (Diesel Generator) set. However, the power from DG set is drawn in a manner that, it always operates at 80-85% loading to achieve maximum fuel efficiency under all loading conditions. Moreover, in coordination with the storage battery, the charging station regulates the generator voltage and frequency without a mechanical speed governor. It also ensures that the power drawn from the grid or the DG set is at unity power factor (UPF) even at nonlinear loading. Moreover, the PCC (Point of Common Coupling) voltage is synchronized to the grid/ generator voltage to obtain the ceaseless charging. The charging station also performs the vehicle to grid active/reactive power transfer, vehicle to home and vehicle to vehicle power transfer for increasing the operational efficiency of the charging station. The operation of the charging station is experimentally validated using the prototype developed in the laboratory.

Many newer UPS systems have an energy-saving operating mode known as “eco-mode” or by some other descriptor. Nevertheless, surveys show that virtually no data centers actually use this mode, because of the known or anticipated side-effects. Unfortunately, the marketing materials for these operating modes do not adequately explain the cost / benefit tradeoffs. This paper shows that eco-mode provides a reduction of approximately 2% in data center energy consumption and explains the various limitations and concerns that arise from eco-mode use. Situations where these operating modes are recommended and contraindicated are also described.
This Paper mainly deals with the implementation of Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) in Pulse Width Modulation control of Single Ended Primary Inductor Converter (SEPIC). Generally PID, Fuzzy techniques are being used to control DC – DC converter. This paper presents a ANFIS controller based SEPIC converter for maximum power point tracking (MPPT) operation of a photovoltaic (PV) system. The ANFIS controller for the SEPIC MPPT scheme shows a high precision in current transition and keeps the voltage without any changes represented in small steady state error and small overshoot. The proposed scheme ensures optimal use of photovoltaic (PV) array, wind turbine and proves its efficacy in variable load conditions, unity and lagging power factor at the inverter output (load) side. The performance of the proposed ANFIS based MPPT operation of SEPIC converter is compared to those of the conventional PID and Fuzzy based SEPIC converter. The results show that the proposed ANFIS based MPPT scheme for SEPIC can transfer power to about 20 percent (approx) more than conventional system.

Results show the better operating performance of micro-Grid in stability issue,increase in efficiency and optimum power extraction from the wind mill and solar cell.

Photovoltaic (PV) systems are being increasingly popular for power generation from solar radiation as the usage of renewable energy grows. To improve the efficiency, the system should operate at its the maximum power point. Hence, several algorithms have been developed for this purpose. Continuous tracking for the maximum power point often leads to heavy energy loss. Furthermore, partial shading can dramatically lower the performance of the system. A modified variable neighborhood search algorithm is proposed resulting zero oscillations around the operating point. A set of variables are used to improve the system’s configurability in various atmospheric and geographical conditions. Simulation result proves the operation of the proposed algorithm, its accuracy, and its fast response time.

Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.
