This document summarizes research analyzing the design of a ceiling cable holder base through mold flow simulation. It begins with an introduction to injection molding and mold flow analysis software. It then describes the existing design issues with the cable holder base, including material wastage and warping. The researchers modeled an improved design in Solidworks and ran mold flow simulations to analyze filling time, temperature distribution, shear stresses and other metrics. The simulations identified no errors in filling. The improved design aims to enhance aesthetics, reduce material waste, and add strength.
