Crocs Case Study
The history of Crocs can be roughly summed up as three friends that pursued an idea and it worked.
Crocs established in 2002 after three friends took a fishing trip to the Caribbean. Lyndon Duke
Hanson, Scott Seamans and George Boedecker, were so impressed with the slip resistant foam shoes,
they decided to sell the Canadian produced clog shoes manufactured by Finproject NA out of a leased
warehouse in Florida. The friends choose the name Croc to capture the amphibious nature of the
product. (Schroeder, R., Goldstein, S., Rungtusanatham, M., 2013, p. 492). The company specializes
in custom crocs, the first design used bright colors with large ventilation holes. The shoes were so
popular and reasonably priced thirty dollar (full price) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Grass roots are among the first core competencies, Croc s established. Croc s participated in many
trade shows presenting the unique shoes. Crocs made its sales efforts by attending trade shows in
industries that would benefit to the product. The consultants would go to garden shows, boat shows,
and pool supply shows and not just talk about the benefits of the simple shoe that could be overlooked,
but bring the excitement of needing to have Crocs. Attending the trade shows gave Croc s a personal
relationship with the stores, and allowed the company to market the shoes in each store. Placing a
Croc s representative in each store allowed for service guarantee, the ability to ensure its satisfactory
delivery to the customer (Schroeder, R. et al, 2013, p. 97). Crocs took the same grass roots approach in
other countries, but the momentum generated in the U.S. helped foreign adoption (Schroeder, R. et al.,
2013, p. 494). Customer loyalty in the U.S. proved to be successful and profitable for business
globally (Schroeder, R. et al., 2013, p. 103). Croc was a huge success based off the cheapest way to
advertise; word of mouth.
A highly flexible supply chain allowed Crocs to be reactive to variations in demand. The first phase
included their purchase of the manufacturer of Crocs shoes, so they could own Croslite and control the
manufacturing. The second phase was

Paul s Epistle To The Ephesians
Paul s epistle to the believers in Ephesus and Asia Minor has a richness and depth that stirs one s soul.
Paul s deep affection for the Ephesians is evident as he communicates a profoundly transcendent yet
highly practical view of living. In this letter, Paul teaches unity in Christ (Eph. 1:10, 2:11 18). This
unity, for the Christian, begins with each individual believer, who, through Christ s indwelling,
becomes connected to Christ. This connection, or uniting (as a vine and a branch c.f. John 15:1 17), of
Christ and the believer transforms the believer s inner being one s very identity changes (Eph. 4:24).
This inner renovation would further change one outwardly one s behavior would conform to one s
identity (Eph. 4:25 6:9). Where does the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Paul begins by explaining to his readers that they have been chosen by God since before the creation
of the world to be holy and blameless before Him (Eph. 1: 4). Therefore, they have been made alive in
Christ (Eph. 2:4 5) in order to become who God created them to be (Eph. 2:10). Further, he explains
that they, as Gentiles, are now one in the body of Christ, coming together with believing Jews (Eph.
3:6). Consequently, Paul urges them to live worthy of their calling (Eph. 4:1). This, Paul clarifies, is
possible only by stepping into one s new identity (Eph. 4:24) and liv[ing] a life of love as dearly loved
children (Eph. 5:2, 1, New International Version). The power to live a holy life, as detailed in
Ephesians chapters four through six, comes from the love of Christ (Eph. 3:14 21). Paul prays for the
Ephesian believers to receive this power in Ephesians

Chapel Service Psychology
The actually had two chapel services that were my favorite the first was the chapel service where
Ryan Nunez spoke and the second was the chapel service where Deb Wade spoke. When Ryan spoke
it was a surprise to hear that guilt was an unexpected gift that God have us. Also, having Deb who is a
psychologist speak to us was entirely amazing as I am fascinated with psychology. As for Ryan s
message he talked about god unexpected gift of guilt which leads to shame. He also spoke about how
it is your choice to admit your sin to God and obtain repentance. An example that he used was in 2
Samuel 11 and 12 which was when David lusted after Bathsheba. Bathsheba s husband, Uriah was in
David s army and he ended up killing him in a way. He sent Bathsheba s husband, Uriah to the front
lines where he knew that he would be killed and this happened because David lusted after her. David
felt guilt from this and eventually he felt shame. I think ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The two points that I remember were number one, which was to lose some weight inside and number
two, pop pimples. What she meant by point one us that we need to lose the burden of shame which
kind of correlates with what Ryan spoke about. I learned that I need to get rid of those voices that are
hurtful now and anything that was said in the past. Also, I need to remember that I am not a mistake
when I am feeling down, no one is a mistake and no one should ever think that they are! God loves us
because he was the one who created us. Deb also spoke about some spiritual exercise that we should
follow. I will try to remember these spiritual exercises in the past. I really loved this message as it
seemed very relatable to me. There were times that I feel down, but because of I remembered this
message I felt better. I plan remember these points in the future and remember that I am not a mistake
and God loves me for who I

Differences in the Development of New England and the Chesapeake Region
Question: Although New England and the Chesapeake region were both settled largely by people of
English origin, by 1700 the regions had evolved into two distinct societies. Why did this difference in
development occur?
By the 1700s the two regions, New England and Chesapeake varied greatly in spite of being from the
same mother country, England. Physical and cultural differences separated these two regions
distinctively. While religion moulded the daily life in New England, Money and tobacco farming
dominated the Chesapeake.
Puritans fleeing religious persecution in England settled New England. They were a highly religious
people. Document A, John ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Religious uniformity was very important as they were intolerant of any other religion, and only church
members were part of the government at first. Citizens were required to attend Church services as part
of the law. Most of the people in New England had been merchants or small farmers in England. In
New England however, the rocky soil made it hard for a lot of farming, so the Puritans turned to the
coast. They built up major industries such as shipbuilding and fishing, and established trade routes
with England, and the Caribbean. The New Englanders were a very pious and hardworking people,
very different from their southern neighbours.
The Chesapeake region was the first region to be colonized. The first settlers had a very hard time
adapting to the moist swampy climate and lack of commerce and civility that they were used to in
England. Most of the early settlers were gentlemen sent by companies such as the Virginia and
London Companies. They were determined to find wealth in the North American wilderness, and
suffered greatly due to famine and diseases like malaria. Most of these unlucky settlers were men,
which was a drawback for the new colony of Virginia because there was very little reproduction.
Document C, a ships list of emigrants bound for Virginia shows the lack of families travelling to
Virginia, as well as the very few women, most of them single. The men fought over these

Super Bowl Argument
There are more than a few reasons people watch the super bowl. Some watch for the game
(surprisingly not the majority), some watch for commercials or good deals, etc. Whatever makes
people watch, makes the super bowl one of the most watched games every year. I saw a few really
good commercials during the game and a few commercials that make me believe that a new

other commercials that were very.... Sexy? With all of this being said I am one of the viewers who

Is Preventative Medicine Be The Key For The Future Of Our...
Journal Week 4 7
The video chosen for this week s journal focused was absolutely amazing. The video focused on the
future of medicine and the many inventions that are up and coming. It was very insightful. The
focuses that really grabbed my attention was to cure the well before they get sick, personalized
healthcare, and bio informatics (Kraft, 2011). Preventative medicine is the key to the future of our
patients. As healthcare workers, we are not seeing patients until their disease process has progressed
beyond prevention and it is in a later stage that now requires treatment. The invention that interest me
the most was the virtual colonoscopy. The population I work with are mainly over the age of 50 years
old. When asked if they have ever received a colonoscopy, 80% of them say they have not. I think the
virtual colonoscopy would eliminate the fear factor for most patients and would allow us to catch
diseases of the GI tract faster before treatment is needed.

Automation levels will be increased to improve margins and to offset second shift/overtime costs.
Mission Statement
Reliable products for low technology customers: Our brands offer value. Our stakeholders are
bondholders, stockholders, customers and management.
Tactics
Research Development: We will concentrate our existing product line into the Low End and
Traditional segments. The traditional product will migrate to the Low End segment. The High product
will migrate to the Traditional segment. During the early years we will migrate (gradually) our
Performance and Size segment products to the Traditional segment. We can also introduce a new
product to work in the Traditional market.
Marketing: Initially we will attempt to keep pace with the awareness and accessibility of our
competitors products. After we establish our cost leadership position we will revisit our situation to
decide whether sales and promotion budgets should be reduced or if we should continue to match our
competitors. Our prices will be lower than average.
Production: We will significantly increase automation levels on our products. However, because
automation sets limits upon our ability to reposition products with R D, we will postpone automation
for the High End and Size products until they arrive in the Traditional Segment. We will prefer second
shift/overtime to capacity expansions.
Finance: We will Finance our investments primarily through long term bond

Using the roster from maxpreps.com
Last night I ventured from Bellaire to Corning to take in the Crestline at Miller game not knowing
what to expect, mostly because I had no knowledge of Crestline other then their record going in to this
one(3 2).
The stadium is very, very old school, with little seating. For some reason this works for the very
passionate Falcons fans and for me I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The only down fall was the white off
colored scoreboard, that you could not see until the sun went down.
This one was a six all tie at one time, then the Falcons soared to forty one straight points. Leading the
way was their talented quarterback

Miller would score on the ensuing kickoff but not in the traditional way. Eveland fielded the ball and
then took it close to the 5 yard line and the ball skidded into the end zone, where #10 Zach Waldrop 5

Later in the opening quarter the Bulldogs were forced to punt and things did not go well for them. The
snap was over #30 Dakota Wireman head and rolled 20 yards behind him, where he did all he could
by falling on the ball. Things were just starting to get bad for the Bulldogs. We at time had no clue to
just how bad.
Compston would take the handoff from his quarterback and pick up 9 yards. He carried the pile about
five yard on the run as he showed a lot of lower body strength and true American grit, much like John
Wayne did back in the good old days.
The drive ended with a little under 4:00 minutes left in the quarter, when Bartley plowed in from a
yard out to make this a 19 6 game. The point after kick was god again and this was a20 6 game.

1. Give a brief account of Pavlov s theory of classical conditioning (use the terms UCS, UCR, CS and
CR)
Classic conditioning sometimes called pavlovian conditioning (tocp pg 73) was discovered by Ivan
Pavlov during his study of the digestion system in dogs, (glassman and hadad, 2009) classic
conditioning is the method of learning by chronological relationship, in other words we may learn to
react to one experience the way we would to the another if the two events consistently occur in close
sequences. (tocp pg 73) Unconditional stimulus (UCS) is a stimulus that automatically produces an
unconditional response. Unconditional response (UCR) an unconditional stimulus is a stimulus that
naturally creates a response. Conditioned response (CR) is learning or be trained to be responsive to a
stimulus that previously had no effect. Conditioned stimulus (CS) a condition stimulus is a stimulus
that had no impact before repeat association with an unconditional stimulus but over time it can
trigger the same reaction as the brain begins to associate the conditions stimulus with the
unconditioned.

The Value Of Nature In The Man Who Killed The Deer
Pivotal to their tribal heritage, the Pueblos value the natural world above all else. The native people
feel a living connection with nature; in which the Pueblo find their complete peace through the bare
granite face of the mountain , the sacred tribal lake , or the deep turquoise lake of life offering the
ecocentric beings comfort (6 7). Waters novel The Man Who Killed the Deer opens with the nature
calling a strong Pueblo Indian into the woods. The honorable character hears Grandfather coyote and
Grandfather Crow call out to him, asking him to leave his home and come to the forest (17). By
listening to the heart of the mountains , synonymous to the heart of [his] body , he saves a man s life
(17). Truly, the deep pulse of the mountain and the pulse of his own blood [...] beat together as one
(7). Palemon s experience with nature sets the tone of the novel: the Pueblo value nature, tradition,
and their tribe above all else. The ecocentrism in Pueblo Culture values balance in nature over any
other relationship: if nature lies in peace, then life remains balanced. In The Man who Killed the Deer
by Frank Waters, the author influences the reader to think like a Pueblo tribe member by using the
Pueblo s value of nature to describe the protagonist and his wife.
Waters represents Martiniano s uncertainty between his Pueblo community and the white men from
his school life through his struggles with the natural world. Martiniano s battle with the outdoor world

A Case Study on Cost Estimation and
Profitability Analysis at Continental Airlines
Francisco J. Román
ABSTRACT: This case exposes students to the application of regression analyses to be used as a tool
pursuant to understanding cost behavior and forecasting future costs using publicly available data
from Continental Airlines. Specifically, the case focuses on the harsh financial situation faced by
Continental as a result of the recent financial crisis and the challenges it faces to remain profitable. It

Continental s internal forecasts indicated that a further decline in passenger volume should be
anticipated throughout 2009, with a recovery in travel possibly occurring by the middle of 2010.
To summarize, adverse economic conditions in the U.S., coupled with the rise in fuel costs, were
dragging down Continental s profits and relief was unlikely through the foreseeable future.
THE DECISION TO REDUCE FLYING CAPACITY AND THE IMPACT ON
OPERATING COSTS
Given the situation described above, management needed to act swiftly to restore profitability.
Several strategic options were evaluated. Since the U.S. and much of the world was facing a severe
recession, the prospect for growing revenues by either raising airfares or passenger volume seemed
futile. Contrary to raising revenue, Continental s managers believed that raising fares could potentially
erode future revenues beyond the present level. Discounting fares did not seem a plausible solution
either, because given the severity of the economic situation a fare cut could fall short in stimulating
additional passenger demand and lead to lowering revenues.
Thus, because management anticipated that revenues would remain flat for most of the year, the only
viable short term solution to restoring profits was a substantial and swift reduction in operating costs.
This could most effectively be accomplished in two ways. First, through a reduction in flying

The debate of Physician Assisted Suicide
Over the years the medical field has developed many miraculous ideas and procedures. From organ
transfers to blood transfusions, tons of lives have been saved. A doctor s whole purpose is to help
those dying to live. Yet, doctors have developed PAS, Physician Assisted Suicide, also known as
Physician Assisted Death, and not to be mixed up with Euthanasia. Physician Assisted Suicide is
morally wrong, gives doctors too much power, and it opens a door for those less critical patients to
receive treatment too.
He started at a time when it was hardly talked about and got people thinking about the issue. (Philip
Nitschke, Exit International) The debate of Physician Assisted Suicide has been going on since over
2000 years ago during the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If anyone can ask for assisted suicide, then that means that the doctor could make the decision to give
anyone who asks for the treatment the lethal dosage of drugs. This could lead to the idea that anyone
who wants to commit suicide doesn t have to make the decision for themselves. If they ask a power
hungry doctor for their opinion, then it could lead to a death, when there could have been an
intervention.
Assisting in taking a life is unmoral. There are so many people just so broken and hurting that they
think suicide is the answer. It s not easy to overcome either. It s like an anchor that pulls you into the
darkness, and just keeps pulling you deeper and deeper. No matter how much you fight, pull, scream,
and cry, you can t get free. It s a feeling of total emptiness and worthlessness. Even once you re over
it, the thought still pops up, and it s a continuous fight. But, with love and hope, suicide can be
overcome, for, in the bible it says that, through Christ we are over comers, and his love is above all
else.
Finally, there has been questioning of whether or not critically ill patients should be allowed to be
physician assisted in committing suicide. They are miserable, and seemingly becoming a shell of the
person they used to be. Wanting to end life because you re not the person you used to be is
understandable in most eyes. Then, there is the idea that people have the right to die

combating social skills deficits.

William Shakespeare s Macbeth, is a play about the triumphs and tribulations of Lord Macbeth on his
path to gaining the crown of Scotland. Of the themes in the play, weakness seems to present itself the
most. Weakness is presented by: Duncan, Lord Macbeth, and Lady Macbeth.
Firstly, the topic of weakness is shown in King Duncan with his over abundance of trust in those close
to him. He is first betrayed by the Thane of Cawdor and second by Lord and Lady Macbeth. King
Duncan vowed to never again be betrayed No more that thane of Cawdor shall deceive (Shakespeare

Research Paper On Luminol
How does it work and what is the science behind it?
Luminol is a chemical that helps crime investigator and detectives find blood or traces of blood not
visible in a crime scene. The way it works is, after you spray the reagent in the suspected area, it
illuminates a bright blue that can be seen in the dark. The science behind this blood detection
technique is that luminol reacts with iron found in hemoglobin, thus making invisible or suspected
bloodshed visible to the crime investigator (How Does...).
The main part of this reaction and also the way light is produced is when the iron in the blood oxidizes
with luminol, resulting in an electronically charged particle, known as 3 amino phthalate, which then
produces the blue light that we see (Micheal Seery).
Is luminol successful in detecting blood compared to other chemicals that do the same thing? What are
its limitations?
Luminol: Strengths
a) Since it comes in a spray bottle, you can quickly spray over large areas effortlessly.
b) The surfaces or articles that have been sprayed with Luminol are not corroded or stained in any
way. This is especially important when investigators want to keep the article or photograph the surface
as proof of evidence.

Many Cycles Differ Slightly From Year To Year, Decade To
Many cycles differ slightly from year to year, decade to decade; for example, the climate, economies,
and wars all follow their own rollercoaster like paths that adjust slightly after each run. This pattern of
repetition with a difference recurs throughout Gabriel García Márquez s magical realist novel One
Hundred Years of Solitude. The story follows the generations of the Buendía family in the town of
Macondo. However, the spiral the family follows collapses inward on itself with each passing
generation, eventually culminating with Aureliano Babilonia, the last survivor of the Buendía family.

Thus, the apparent lack of a motherly figure further distances Aureliano Babilonia from the typical
love children experience, likely contributing to his reserved and initially tentative nature. Rather than
growing up like the other children of the Buendía family, Fernanda locks Aureliano Babilonia in
Colonel Aureliano Buendía s workshop. His infancy spent in the workshop shapes his future obsession
of studying Melquíades parchments, as he likely associates the workshop with safety and comfort, and
naturally absorbs himself into every aspect of the room. This suggests that, without an adequate
amount of human interaction, one is largely shaped by their surroundings during infancy, leading to a
more analytical or observant nature that arises in place of observing human interactions and
developing connections with others. However, Aureliano Babilonia s youth is not entirely devoid of
human contact. At around three years old, he escapes the workshop, appearing in front of Aureliano
Segundo, his grandfather, as if he were not a human child but the encyclopedia definition of a cannibal
(294). This furthers the idea that Aureliano Babilonia lives more like an ostracized, uncivilized
individual than a normal child. Moreover, his comparison to a cannibal, a term that Amaranta Úrsula

Summary Of The Lone Survivor
While in Afghanistan fighting the terrorist group called Taliban, Marcus Luttrell and his other three
Navy SEAL partners were disclosed by two goat keepers who skulked up the mountain of Sawtalo
Sar. The goat keepers were released by the SEALs and warned the members of the Taliban that there
are Americans on the mountain. The Taliban prepared for battle and found Marcus and his team. The
battle lasted for about two hours and during that time all the SEALs except Marcus died, hence The
Lone Survivor . While in Afghanistan, Marcus learns a lot about himself and faces many struggles.
My three searches in this autobiography are when Marcus searches for an answer pertaining to the
goat keepers lives. The second search is how Marcus searches to overcome his ego and ask for help.
Lastly, the third search is Marcus searching for his own identity.
My first search is Marcus s search for an answer on what to do with the goat keepers that uncovered
his team s position. The two goat keepers consisted of a teenage military age male and a 60 year old
man. While all of the goats dispersed trough the forest, Marcus and his group captured the two men
when they walked up the mountain. Marcus had three options, the first being he can kill them both and
try to hide the bodies. The second search is to tie them up to a tree and leave them there. Or the last
possibility is to release them back to the Taliban town where they would most likely give away the
SEALs position on the mountain. Shown

This forced us to make different roles for each member to fill. I had to play lead guitar for the TSO
songs, including the famous Christmas Eve Sarajevo, better known as Carol of the Bells. Practices
began with a piano, bass, one guitar and the drums. We were in desperate need of a keyboard player to
imitate the orchestra s part in the concert. Running out of options, we looked to the church and found a
keyboardist that had long been a friend and supporter of the band. Things began to look up for the
concert, but the worst was about to happen to the band.
The next month, about two weeks away from the performance date, as everyone set up their
instruments for another day of practice, the

Modeling Uncertainty for Economic Effects in Tunisia and...
Modeling uncertainty for economic effects of echinococcosis were used initially in studies in Tunisia
and Jordan (Majorowski et al., 2005; Torgerson et al., 2001). This has many advantages, most notably
surveillance data from which the costs of the disease can be calculated are not deterministic and
depend, interalia upon sampling error, errors due to diagnosis and problems with bias and
underreporting. For financial costs there will be uncertainty in the mean cost of treatment due to large
variations in the treatment costs of individual patients. In developing the DALY there is also
uncertainty in terms of morbidity and mortality. In the Tibetan study (Budke et al., 2004), the DALY
for AE was developed, with disability outcomes divided ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A significant challenge in estimating the burden of echinococcosis is that of missing data. In wealthy
countries there are often good data sets from public health statistics or from hospital records. Thus
relatively accurate estimates of the incidence of disease can be made. However, most of the burden of
echinococcosis is in developing nations with 40% being in China alone (Budke et al., 2006). In many
areas even if treatment is available reporting systems are inaccurate and hence there is likely to be
significant underestimates of the true numbers affected by the disease. This is illustrated by the
estimated 75% underreporting in Chile and Uzbekistan of cystic echinococcosis (Nazirov et al., 2002;
Serra et al., 1999). For communities where treatment is largely unavailable such as remote herdsmen
communities on the Tibetan plateau most of the data must come from carefully planned surveys which
will give an indication of point prevalences based on, for example, cross sectional ultrasound
surveillance studies. Such data can be used to model the likely number of cases in society and the
disease burden. A further problem is that even utilizing such data, ultrasound will not diagnose
pulmonary echinococcosis and therefore this must be accounted for as this could be an additional 10%
or more cases. Estimates of the prevalence of undiagnosed cases need to be undertaken as there is

Enron And The Collapse Of Enron
INTRODUCTION
Enron, one of the most influential and profitable companies in utility, paper, and communications for
numerous years, came crashing down and filed for bankruptcy in fall 2001 (Bottiglieri, Revile, and
Grunewald 1). Houston National Gas and InterNorth fused together and created Enron in 1985. The
company faced initial problems of debt and loss of exclusive rights to pipelines (Thomas 1). This
accounting method allowed Enron to log entire profits from the life of a contract in the year the
company made the deal (Stewart 116).
Three individuals and one firm had major impacts in the collapse of Enron, which were Kenneth Lay,
Jeffrey Skilling, Andrew Fastow, and Arthur Andersen Accounting Firm. Kenneth Lay was the Chief
Executive Officer when the company began in 1985. (Cunningham and Harris 32). Jeffrey Skilling
was another key individual in the story of Enron and made his first major appearance in 1990. He held
many titles at Enron, including president and Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Executive Officer
(Chandra 100). The third individual is Andrew Fastow, who also joined Enron in 1990. Fastow s major
contribution to Enron was the use of special purpose entities. SPEs allowed the company to keep
losses and debts off Enron s financial statements and dump them in other hidden areas (Chandra 101).
The final group was Arthur Andersen. Arthur Andersen s biggest impact on Enron was the allowance
of mark to market accounting, which allowed Enron to record all

Revenge, By Charles Dickens
Joseph Eisold Mrs. Dorman English 3rd 7 March 2017 Research paper There has been a point in
everybody s life where they want to get back at someone for something they have done. In A Tale of
Two Cities by Charles Dickens there are many forms of revenge, but they cannot be justified. Some
specific points of revenge is the murder of Foulon, the plot against Lucie and little Lucie, and the plot
against the Evermonde family for the murder of Madame Defarge s siblings. First, we need to find out
the true meaning of revenge and how or if it can be justified. Then we need to find out how it is
justified in the book. First, the true meaning of revenge and how it can be justified. The true meaning

Defarge arrives bearing news of the capture of Foulon, a wealthy man who once declared that if
people were starving they should eat grass (Dickens 295). Even though he did kill all the people
whether it was a direct death or it was by an action he didn t deserve to die because of revenge. He

them is significant because Charles is put on trial for being an emigrant aristocrat, but is quickly taken

Evaluating The Relationship Between Logical Advertising...
Evaluating the Relationship between Logical Advertising Appeals, Consumers Cognitive Information
Processing Styles, and Advertising Effectiveness
In the present competitive era, all company communicators seek to put some information in their
contacts or customers mind that affect their decision to purchase. Companies efforts to create attention
to their messages on the one hand and the increasing advertising messages, on the other hand, have
created a significant paradox in the field of advertising. In such circumstances, the advertiser may
spend many costs without reaching the target without the necessary ensuring of their ads effectiveness.
Therefore, the importance of this research is what all have believed today. The purpose of this research
is to evaluate and explain the relationship between the logical advertising appeals, consumer cognitive
information processing styles, and advertising effectiveness. The present study is applied in terms of
the purpose, and descriptive and correlational in terms of data collection. The required data were
collected using inventory and distributing it among 133 students. SPSS and LISREL software are used
to analyze the data. The results showed that advertising appeal has a direct and positive impact on the
logical process style and the effectiveness of advertising. The hypothesis of the effectiveness of logical
processing style on advertising effectiveness is rejected. Thus, advertising companies should conduct
their marketing

Critical Decision Making Essay
Often times in critical decision making, if you are stressed or under the effects of a certain type of
stress such as acute stress it may impair your ability to make a right decision.
Almost all types of stress in everyday life can produce positive and negative effects regarding
cognition. It recently has been shown that acute stress can impair decision making while you are under
risk. This is where performing a parallel executive task, also known as a riskier decision comes into
play.
In order to better understand the effects of a combination of these two circumstances, a group of
scientists conducted an experiment with about 126 people. Stress was induced to the subjects using the
Trier Social Stress Test and the controls underwent the placebo Trier Social Stress Test. In order to
collect the data the scientists collected saliva samples to assess cortisol and alpha amylase
concentrations, as indicators of both of the stress response ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Acute stress and a parallel executive task on their own tended to impair the subject s decision under
risk, which lead to more high than low risk choices. Weirdly enough, stressed subjects in the parallel
task condition showed decision making behavior on the same level as those of which who were not
stressed and underwent a single task. Regression analyses revealed that executive functions moderate
stress effects on decisions under risk.
This helps my research/experiment for a very solid reason it finally explains what in their bodies

Examples Of Situational Irony In The Ransom Of The Red Chief
In O. Henry s story, The Ransom of the Red Chief, eight distinct examples of irony are present
throughout the entire selection. O. Henry writes with both situational and verbal irony, which results
in a comedic account of a rowdy boy s kidnapping. Situational irony involves an event in which
actions have an effect that is opposite from what was intended. Verbal irony is when the intended
meaning of a statement differs from the meaning that the words appear to express. There are three
examples of verbal irony and five examples of situational irony in The Ransom of the Red Chief. The
first example of verbal irony is in the beginning of the story. There was a town down there, as flat as a
flannel cake, and called Summit, of course. The irony is that a town that was flat was named Summit,
which would have the reader think the town was high. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

away the tender lambkin from the fold. Heaven help the wolves! says I, and I went down the mountain

Physics Of Soccer Research Paper
Soccer has become an important part of the culture in America. Recently, the Women s National
Soccer team even won one of the biggest honors possible, the World Cup. People play and watch
soccer games all of the time and yet few people actually realize the physics that are involved in almost
everything that they see or do. While there are multiple ways that physics is used in a soccer game,
this paper explores three parts and the physics that are involved in each one. The three parts that are
going to be discussed are passing a soccer ball, heading a soccer ball, and throwing the soccer ball
back into play. These three movements can explain how physics can work from a soccer ball coming
or going in each and every direction. Also, every part ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What force or forces are acting on the ball to make the ball curve and come down? This force would
be called gravity. The force is applied to the soccer ball as it comes from behind the players head and
released. When the soccer ball is released, gravity acts on the ball and it returns to the ground (Ball,
2006). If gravity was absent then the ball would continue to go up and fly off into the atmosphere.
Physics helps people with things every day and also in sports. Soccer players use physics in almost
everything that they do on the field during training and while playing in the game. This can be
observed with the players passing the soccer ball, heading the soccer ball, and throwing the ball back
into play. There are many times that there are more than one force that is acting on the ball or even the
player. Soccer is a fast pace and crazy sport in which people would not be able to play and enjoy

A Summary Of Wilsonian Internationalism
Wilsonian Internationalism, also known as Liberal Internationalism, is a foreign policy ideology that
advocates for open communication between nations and solving international disputes using a strong
faith in the rule of law...and in the ability of dynamic democratic capitalism to spread prosperity to all
(Lecture A, Week 3). This ideology encouraged and reinforced a bond between countries to promote
peace, while still furthering economic success.
Woodrow Wilson was a strong proponent of justice and open understandings between countries, and
the term Wilsonian Internationalism was coined after this political and economic theory. In a speech to
Congress in 1917 called War Message , Wilson showcases his ideology after events in WWI forced
him to acknowledge the ever narrowing gap that was America s likelihood of staying out of the war. In
War Message , Wilson emphasizes that Germany endangers peace and understanding of the
international law which [should] be respected and observed upon the seas, where no nation had right
of dominion and where lay the free highways of the world (War Message, pp. 44). He argues that
when Germany sank ships that had no bearing to the war in the least, and breaking international law,
they were crafting a political world where democracy was not the foremost priority. Wilson used this
stance on Germany to propose entering the war on the grounds that threats to democracy to some, was
a threat to democracy of all, stating, the world must be

The American Girls Softball League
In the year 1943, Philip K. Wrigley founded the All American Girls Softball League. He formed the
league to entertain baseball fans while many of the men were away fighting WWII. What began as a
softball league transformed to baseball league that eventually became known as the All American
Girls Professional Baseball League (AAGPBL). The league was designed with fifteen teams made up
of twenty to twenty five women spread out across America. The league existed for twelve years, from
1943 to 1954. This was a period of time when women were not supposed to have professional careers
outside of the home, much less careers that involved professional athletics. Girls were expected to
grow up to be wives and mothers, not baseball players. The women of the AAGPBL were athletic
pioneers who pursued and captured their dreams of playing professional baseball in much the same
way as men had for decades. World War Two opened the door for the women of the AAGPBL to take
a huge role in the American public. On December 7th, 1941, the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor,
Hawaii, becoming the largest attack on American soil until the events of 9/11. The United States went
to war almost immediately, sending out military grade men between the ages of 18 and 39 to fight in
the war between the German and Japanese forces. With the war requiring so many men who would
usually be populating the workforce, a sudden unexpected labor shortage emerged. This was only
amplified when the need for machines of

In April 1996, the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) brought a suit seeking

Men vs. Women The idea of different subcultures for males and females, although they live in the
same country, taught the same values, and eat the same food, is not new. Although men and women
live under the same conditions, they are expected to behave and respond differently. Thus as Maltz
puts it: The different social needs of men and women have led them to sexually differentiated
communication cultures, with each sex learning a different set of skills for manipulating words (Maltz,
p.200). Maltz explains this by saying that each one of us learns his communication culture through the
period of, approximately, age 5 to 15, when boys and girls interact socially primarily with members of
their own sex . Not only boys and girls learn to respond differently, but they learn, self consciously, to
differentiate, with exaggeration, their behavior from the other sex (Maltz, p.203). If we talk in terms of
Hofstede four dimensions of cultural differences, then American men culture could be described a
culture that

advantage of each? Discuss
My essay today will be focusing on the differences between the parliamentary and presidential forms
of government. I will be looking at the characteristics of each. I will also be looking at the key
differences between the two government systems and lastly the advantages of each system.
Characteristics of a Parliamentary Government
There are certain factors that are common to and define a parliamentary government. The source of
parliamentary government is the British system which as it expanded its reach around the world,
implanted its forms of government in various countries around the world.. I will be ... Show more

The best way to differentiate the two systems of government is to highlight the fact that while
parliamentary governments allows flexibility and change to the political process, presidentialism has a
strict and formally set way of running the democratic process. A parliamentary government will at any
time change laws and basic regulations and constantly alters members of parliament. A presidential
government will try to reinforce against instability and will therefore adhere to a rigid system.
In a parliamentary system the government s authority is completely dependent on the will of the
parliament itself. However in a presidential system the governments separate sectors are power unto
themselves and as such have the ability and power to enforce what they see fit. (Linz)
Advantages of Parliamentary
Keeping in mind that the disadvantages of a presidential government are consequently the advantages
of a parliamentary government I will discuss the most prominent advantages of parliamentarism. The
first advantage I will be discussing is the lack of an executive legislative deadlock. The second is a
parliamentary flexibly advantage. Furthermore I will be discussing the convenience of passing
legislation. I will be using the works of Lijphart and Young to illustrate my point.
The most prominent advantage of a parliamentary government is the lack of the potential problem of
executive legislature conflict. This is where two

Suicide In Romeo And Juliet Essay
One of the most famous and most controversial love stories is the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by
William Shakespeare. It is the tale of two youthful lovers who are morosely born into two families
who have been enemies for decades. The story closes with Romeo and Juliet both dead; both victims
to a gruesome duo suicide. The pair both commit suicide because of the struggle of them not being
approved to be together by their families. The catastrophe can be blamed three different ways: on Friar
Lawrence, on the Capulet family, and on the Montague family. All three of these accusations are
truthful, because all three of them have a part in the misfortune that could have influenced the
outcome. The blame can be placed on Friar Lawrence because he had the chance to unite the two
families, but instead he allows the elaborate plan to develop. Primitively, he married the pair in hopes
to unite the two families through their love. But, the plan changed after Romeo is banished. Friar

Lord and Lady Capulet are the parents of young Juliet. The Capulets have always hated the
Montagues, and the generations of Capulets to come are all supposed to hate the Montagues. This is
the reason Juliet felt her relationship with Romeo had to be concealed. Lord and Lady Capulet also
influence the tragedy greatly by forcing Juliet to marry Paris that Thursday when she is still grieving
over Romeo being banished to Mantua. Lord Capulet declares that he will disown Juliet if she does
not wed Paris. This action is the reason that Juliet seeks help from Friar Lawrence. If the Capulets
were not so forceful with Juliet, she probably would not have been desperate enough to perform Friar
Lawrence s plan. Had she not preformed Friar Lawrence s plan, none of the final deaths would have
transpired. Reflecting on these reasons, it is clear how the Capulet family could have been responsible

  • 2. Crocs Case Study The history of Crocs can be roughly summed up as three friends that pursued an idea and it worked. Crocs established in 2002 after three friends took a fishing trip to the Caribbean. Lyndon Duke Hanson, Scott Seamans and George Boedecker, were so impressed with the slip resistant foam shoes, they decided to sell the Canadian produced clog shoes manufactured by Finproject NA out of a leased warehouse in Florida. The friends choose the name Croc to capture the amphibious nature of the product. (Schroeder, R., Goldstein, S., Rungtusanatham, M., 2013, p. 492). The company specializes in custom crocs, the first design used bright colors with large ventilation holes. The shoes were so popular and reasonably priced thirty dollar (full price) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Grass roots are among the first core competencies, Croc s established. Croc s participated in many trade shows presenting the unique shoes. Crocs made its sales efforts by attending trade shows in industries that would benefit to the product. The consultants would go to garden shows, boat shows, and pool supply shows and not just talk about the benefits of the simple shoe that could be overlooked, but bring the excitement of needing to have Crocs. Attending the trade shows gave Croc s a personal relationship with the stores, and allowed the company to market the shoes in each store. Placing a Croc s representative in each store allowed for service guarantee, the ability to ensure its satisfactory delivery to the customer (Schroeder, R. et al, 2013, p. 97). Crocs took the same grass roots approach in other countries, but the momentum generated in the U.S. helped foreign adoption (Schroeder, R. et al., 2013, p. 494). Customer loyalty in the U.S. proved to be successful and profitable for business globally (Schroeder, R. et al., 2013, p. 103). Croc was a huge success based off the cheapest way to advertise; word of mouth. A highly flexible supply chain allowed Crocs to be reactive to variations in demand. The first phase included their purchase of the manufacturer of Crocs shoes, so they could own Croslite and control the manufacturing. The second phase was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Paul s Epistle To The Ephesians Paul s epistle to the believers in Ephesus and Asia Minor has a richness and depth that stirs one s soul. Paul s deep affection for the Ephesians is evident as he communicates a profoundly transcendent yet highly practical view of living. In this letter, Paul teaches unity in Christ (Eph. 1:10, 2:11 18). This unity, for the Christian, begins with each individual believer, who, through Christ s indwelling, becomes connected to Christ. This connection, or uniting (as a vine and a branch c.f. John 15:1 17), of Christ and the believer transforms the believer s inner being one s very identity changes (Eph. 4:24). This inner renovation would further change one outwardly one s behavior would conform to one s identity (Eph. 4:25 6:9). Where does the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Paul begins by explaining to his readers that they have been chosen by God since before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless before Him (Eph. 1: 4). Therefore, they have been made alive in Christ (Eph. 2:4 5) in order to become who God created them to be (Eph. 2:10). Further, he explains that they, as Gentiles, are now one in the body of Christ, coming together with believing Jews (Eph. 3:6). Consequently, Paul urges them to live worthy of their calling (Eph. 4:1). This, Paul clarifies, is possible only by stepping into one s new identity (Eph. 4:24) and liv[ing] a life of love as dearly loved children (Eph. 5:2, 1, New International Version). The power to live a holy life, as detailed in Ephesians chapters four through six, comes from the love of Christ (Eph. 3:14 21). Paul prays for the Ephesian believers to receive this power in Ephesians ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Chapel Service Psychology The actually had two chapel services that were my favorite the first was the chapel service where Ryan Nunez spoke and the second was the chapel service where Deb Wade spoke. When Ryan spoke it was a surprise to hear that guilt was an unexpected gift that God have us. Also, having Deb who is a psychologist speak to us was entirely amazing as I am fascinated with psychology. As for Ryan s message he talked about god unexpected gift of guilt which leads to shame. He also spoke about how it is your choice to admit your sin to God and obtain repentance. An example that he used was in 2 Samuel 11 and 12 which was when David lusted after Bathsheba. Bathsheba s husband, Uriah was in David s army and he ended up killing him in a way. He sent Bathsheba s husband, Uriah to the front lines where he knew that he would be killed and this happened because David lusted after her. David felt guilt from this and eventually he felt shame. I think ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The two points that I remember were number one, which was to lose some weight inside and number two, pop pimples. What she meant by point one us that we need to lose the burden of shame which kind of correlates with what Ryan spoke about. I learned that I need to get rid of those voices that are hurtful now and anything that was said in the past. Also, I need to remember that I am not a mistake when I am feeling down, no one is a mistake and no one should ever think that they are! God loves us because he was the one who created us. Deb also spoke about some spiritual exercise that we should follow. I will try to remember these spiritual exercises in the past. I really loved this message as it seemed very relatable to me. There were times that I feel down, but because of I remembered this message I felt better. I plan remember these points in the future and remember that I am not a mistake and God loves me for who I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Differences in the Development of New England and the... Differences in the Development of New England and the Chesapeake Region Question: Although New England and the Chesapeake region were both settled largely by people of English origin, by 1700 the regions had evolved into two distinct societies. Why did this difference in development occur? By the 1700s the two regions, New England and Chesapeake varied greatly in spite of being from the same mother country, England. Physical and cultural differences separated these two regions distinctively. While religion moulded the daily life in New England, Money and tobacco farming dominated the Chesapeake. Puritans fleeing religious persecution in England settled New England. They were a highly religious people. Document A, John ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Religious uniformity was very important as they were intolerant of any other religion, and only church members were part of the government at first. Citizens were required to attend Church services as part of the law. Most of the people in New England had been merchants or small farmers in England. In New England however, the rocky soil made it hard for a lot of farming, so the Puritans turned to the coast. They built up major industries such as shipbuilding and fishing, and established trade routes with England, and the Caribbean. The New Englanders were a very pious and hardworking people, very different from their southern neighbours. The Chesapeake region was the first region to be colonized. The first settlers had a very hard time adapting to the moist swampy climate and lack of commerce and civility that they were used to in England. Most of the early settlers were gentlemen sent by companies such as the Virginia and London Companies. They were determined to find wealth in the North American wilderness, and suffered greatly due to famine and diseases like malaria. Most of these unlucky settlers were men, which was a drawback for the new colony of Virginia because there was very little reproduction. Document C, a ships list of emigrants bound for Virginia shows the lack of families travelling to Virginia, as well as the very few women, most of them single. The men fought over these ... • 6. Super Bowl Argument There are more than a few reasons people watch the super bowl. Some watch for the game (surprisingly not the majority), some watch for commercials or good deals, etc. Whatever makes people watch, makes the super bowl one of the most watched games every year. I saw a few really good commercials during the game and a few commercials that make me believe that a new generation is upon us with a T Mobile commercial that used word play to joke about marijuana and other commercials that were very.... • 7. Is Preventative Medicine Be The Key For The Future Of Our... Journal Week 4 7 The video chosen for this week s journal focused was absolutely amazing. The video focused on the future of medicine and the many inventions that are up and coming. It was very insightful. The focuses that really grabbed my attention was to cure the well before they get sick, personalized healthcare, and bio informatics (Kraft, 2011). Preventative medicine is the key to the future of our patients. As healthcare workers, we are not seeing patients until their disease process has progressed beyond prevention and it is in a later stage that now requires treatment. The invention that interest me the most was the virtual colonoscopy. The population I work with are mainly over the age of 50 years old. When asked if they have ever received a colonoscopy, 80% of them say they have not. I think the virtual colonoscopy would eliminate the fear factor for most patients and would allow us to catch diseases of the GI tract faster before treatment is needed. Article The article chosen for this week s journal focuses on the history of information technology within the VA system. The Houston VA is the site where I am completing my practicum. I wanted to know more about the foundation in regards to their information technology system. The history starts with Electronic Accounting Machines (EAM), punch card, and the acquisition of the first computer for the VA in the 1950 s ( VA History, 2014). It works its way through the 1960 s, a decade of characterized by use ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Mission Statement Reliable products for low technology customers: Our brands offer value. Our stakeholders are bondholders, stockholders, customers and management. Tactics Research Development: We will concentrate our existing product line into the Low End and Traditional segments. The traditional product will migrate to the Low End segment. The High product will migrate to the Traditional segment. During the early years we will migrate (gradually) our Performance and Size segment products to the Traditional segment. We can also introduce a new product to work in the Traditional market. Marketing: Initially we will attempt to keep pace with the awareness and accessibility of our competitors products. After we establish our cost leadership position we will revisit our situation to decide whether sales and promotion budgets should be reduced or if we should continue to match our competitors. Our prices will be lower than average. Production: We will significantly increase automation levels on our products. However, because automation sets limits upon our ability to reposition products with R D, we will postpone automation for the High End and Size products until they arrive in the Traditional Segment. We will prefer second shift/overtime to capacity expansions. Finance: We will Finance our investments primarily through long term bond ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Football Belt Essay Using the roster from maxpreps.com Last night I ventured from Bellaire to Corning to take in the Crestline at Miller game not knowing what to expect, mostly because I had no knowledge of Crestline other then their record going in to this one(3 2). The stadium is very, very old school, with little seating. For some reason this works for the very passionate Falcons fans and for me I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The only down fall was the white off colored scoreboard, that you could not see until the sun went down. This one was a six all tie at one time, then the Falcons soared to forty one straight points. Miller would score on the ensuing kickoff but not in the traditional way. The P.A. announcer did call out the time left on the clock at times. Later in the opening quarter the Bulldogs were forced to punt and things did not go well for them. The snap was over #30 Dakota Wireman head and rolled 20 yards behind him, where he did all he could by falling on the ball. Things were just starting to get bad for the Bulldogs. We at time had no clue to just how bad. Compston would take the handoff from his quarterback and pick up 9 yards. He carried the pile about five yard on the run as he showed a lot of lower body strength and true American grit, much like John Wayne did back in the good old days. The drive ended with a little under 4:00 minutes left in the quarter, when Bartley plowed in from a yard out to make this a 19 6 game. The point after kick was god again and this was a20 6 game. Section1. Behaviourism 1. Give a brief account of Pavlov s theory of classical conditioning (use the terms UCS, UCR, CS and CR) Classic conditioning sometimes called pavlovian conditioning (tocp pg 73) was discovered by Ivan Pavlov during his study of the digestion system in dogs, (glassman and hadad, 2009) classic conditioning is the method of learning by chronological relationship, in other words we may learn to react to one experience the way we would to the another if the two events consistently occur in close sequences. The native people feel a living connection with nature; in which the Pueblo find their complete peace through the bare granite face of the mountain , the sacred tribal lake , or the deep turquoise lake of life offering the ecocentric beings comfort (6 7). Waters novel The Man Who Killed the Deer opens with the nature calling a strong Pueblo Indian into the woods. The honorable character hears Grandfather coyote and Grandfather Crow call out to him, asking him to leave his home and come to the forest (17). By listening to the heart of the mountains , synonymous to the heart of [his] body , he saves a man s life (17). Truly, the deep pulse of the mountain and the pulse of his own blood [...] beat together as one (7). Palemon s experience with nature sets the tone of the novel: the Pueblo value nature, tradition, and their tribe above all else. The ecocentrism in Pueblo Culture values balance in nature over any other relationship: if nature lies in peace, then life remains balanced. In The Man who Killed the Deer by Frank Waters, the author influences the reader to think like a Pueblo tribe member by using the Pueblo s value of nature to describe the protagonist and his wife. Román ABSTRACT: This case exposes students to the application of regression analyses to be used as a tool pursuant to understanding cost behavior and forecasting future costs using publicly available data from Continental Airlines. Continental s internal forecasts indicated that a further decline in passenger volume should be anticipated throughout 2009, with a recovery in travel possibly occurring by the middle of 2010. To summarize, adverse economic conditions in the U.S., coupled with the rise in fuel costs, were dragging down Continental s profits and relief was unlikely through the foreseeable future. THE DECISION TO REDUCE FLYING CAPACITY AND THE IMPACT ON OPERATING COSTS Given the situation described above, management needed to act swiftly to restore profitability. Several strategic options were evaluated. Since the U.S. and much of the world was facing a severe recession, the prospect for growing revenues by either raising airfares or passenger volume seemed futile. Contrary to raising revenue, Continental s managers believed that raising fares could potentially erode future revenues beyond the present level. Discounting fares did not seem a plausible solution either, because given the severity of the economic situation a fare cut could fall short in stimulating additional passenger demand and lead to lowering revenues. Thus, because management anticipated that revenues would remain flat for most of the year, the only viable short term solution to restoring profits was a substantial and swift reduction in operating costs. This could most effectively be accomplished in two ways. First, through a reduction in flying ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This could lead to the idea that anyone who wants to commit suicide doesn t have to make the decision for themselves. If they ask a power hungry doctor for their opinion, then it could lead to a death, when there could have been an intervention. Assisting in taking a life is unmoral. There are so many people just so broken and hurting that they think suicide is the answer. It s not easy to overcome either. It s like an anchor that pulls you into the darkness, and just keeps pulling you deeper and deeper. No matter how much you fight, pull, scream, and cry, you can t get free. It s a feeling of total emptiness and worthlessness. Even once you re over it, the thought still pops up, and it s a continuous fight. But, with love and hope, suicide can be overcome, for, in the bible it says that, through Christ we are over comers, and his love is above all else. Finally, there has been questioning of whether or not critically ill patients should be allowed to be physician assisted in committing suicide. Luminol is a chemical that helps crime investigator and detectives find blood or traces of blood not visible in a crime scene. The way it works is, after you spray the reagent in the suspected area, it illuminates a bright blue that can be seen in the dark. The science behind this blood detection technique is that luminol reacts with iron found in hemoglobin, thus making invisible or suspected bloodshed visible to the crime investigator (How Does...). The main part of this reaction and also the way light is produced is when the iron in the blood oxidizes with luminol, resulting in an electronically charged particle, known as 3 amino phthalate, which then produces the blue light that we see (Micheal Seery). Is luminol successful in detecting blood compared to other chemicals that do the same thing? What are its limitations? Luminol: Strengths a) Since it comes in a spray bottle, you can quickly spray over large areas effortlessly. b) The surfaces or articles that have been sprayed with Luminol are not corroded or stained in any way. Many Cycles Differ Slightly From Year To Year, Decade To Many cycles differ slightly from year to year, decade to decade; for example, the climate, economies, and wars all follow their own rollercoaster like paths that adjust slightly after each run. This pattern of repetition with a difference recurs throughout Gabriel García Márquez s magical realist novel One Hundred Years of Solitude. The story follows the generations of the Buendía family in the town of Macondo. However, the spiral the family follows collapses inward on itself with each passing generation, eventually culminating with Aureliano Babilonia, the last survivor of the Buendía family. His infancy spent in the workshop shapes his future obsession of studying Melquíades parchments, as he likely associates the workshop with safety and comfort, and naturally absorbs himself into every aspect of the room. This suggests that, without an adequate amount of human interaction, one is largely shaped by their surroundings during infancy, leading to a more analytical or observant nature that arises in place of observing human interactions and developing connections with others. However, Aureliano Babilonia s youth is not entirely devoid of human contact. At around three years old, he escapes the workshop, appearing in front of Aureliano Segundo, his grandfather, as if he were not a human child but the encyclopedia definition of a cannibal (294). For financial costs there will be uncertainty in the mean cost of treatment due to large variations in the treatment costs of individual patients. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A significant challenge in estimating the burden of echinococcosis is that of missing data. In wealthy countries there are often good data sets from public health statistics or from hospital records. Thus relatively accurate estimates of the incidence of disease can be made. However, most of the burden of echinococcosis is in developing nations with 40% being in China alone (Budke et al., 2006). In many areas even if treatment is available reporting systems are inaccurate and hence there is likely to be significant underestimates of the true numbers affected by the disease. This is illustrated by the estimated 75% underreporting in Chile and Uzbekistan of cystic echinococcosis (Nazirov et al., 2002; Serra et al., 1999). For communities where treatment is largely unavailable such as remote herdsmen communities on the Tibetan plateau most of the data must come from carefully planned surveys which will give an indication of point prevalences based on, for example, cross sectional ultrasound surveillance studies. Such data can be used to model the likely number of cases in society and the disease burden. A further problem is that even utilizing such data, ultrasound will not diagnose pulmonary echinococcosis and therefore this must be accounted for as this could be an additional 10% or more cases. This ideology encouraged and reinforced a bond between countries to promote peace, while still furthering economic success. In a speech to Congress in 1917 called War Message , Wilson showcases his ideology after events in WWI forced him to acknowledge the ever narrowing gap that was America s likelihood of staying out of the war. In War Message , Wilson emphasizes that Germany endangers peace and understanding of the international law which [should] be respected and observed upon the seas, where no nation had right of dominion and where lay the free highways of the world (War Message, pp. 44). He argues that when Germany sank ships that had no bearing to the war in the least, and breaking international law, they were crafting a political world where democracy was not the foremost priority. A parliamentary government will at any time change laws and basic regulations and constantly alters members of parliament. A presidential government will try to reinforce against instability and will therefore adhere to a rigid system. In a parliamentary system the government s authority is completely dependent on the will of the parliament itself. However in a presidential system the governments separate sectors are power unto themselves and as such have the ability and power to enforce what they see fit. • 36. Suicide In Romeo And Juliet Essay One of the most famous and most controversial love stories is the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. It is the tale of two youthful lovers who are morosely born into two families who have been enemies for decades. The story closes with Romeo and Juliet both dead; both victims to a gruesome duo suicide. The pair both commit suicide because of the struggle of them not being approved to be together by their families. The catastrophe can be blamed three different ways: on Friar Lawrence, on the Capulet family, and on the Montague family. All three of these accusations are truthful, because all three of them have a part in the misfortune that could have influenced the outcome. The blame can be placed on Friar Lawrence because he had the chance to unite the two families, but instead he allows the elaborate plan to develop. Primitively, he married the pair in hopes to unite the two families through their love. But, the plan changed after Romeo is banished. Friar Lawrence devises an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Lord and Lady Capulet are the parents of young Juliet. The Capulets have always hated the Montagues, and the generations of Capulets to come are all supposed to hate the Montagues. This is the reason Juliet felt her relationship with Romeo had to be concealed. Lord and Lady Capulet also influence the tragedy greatly by forcing Juliet to marry Paris that Thursday when she is still grieving over Romeo being banished to Mantua. Lord Capulet declares that he will disown Juliet if she does not wed Paris. This action is the reason that Juliet seeks help from Friar Lawrence. If the Capulets were not so forceful with Juliet, she probably would not have been desperate enough to perform Friar Lawrence s plan. Had she not preformed Friar Lawrence s plan, none of the final deaths would have transpired. Reflecting on these reasons, it is clear how the Capulet family could have been responsible for the ending ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
