An interview is a conversation between an interviewer and interviewee where the interviewer asks questions and the interviewee provides answers. The nursing interview process has three phases: an introductory phase where the nurse explains the purpose and process of the interview; a working phase where the nurse elicits important information from the client about their health history, current concerns, lifestyle, and family history; and a summary and closing phase where the nurse restates the key information and discusses plans to address any identified health problems with the client.
