Howard Thurman Essay
Howard Thurman was born in Daytona, Florida (1899) into an overtly segregated and racially biased
community. Due to an absence of educational opportunities for African Americans in Daytona,
Thurman chose to attend a religiously affiliated high school in the Jacksonville area. As he progressed
in age, Thurman developed a unique style of nature mysticism through his veneration of
environmental phenomena. Additionally, Thurman was a prolific student who excelled at almost every
level of study. After he completed his education, Thurman held teaching positions at various colleges
and engaged in wide reaching lecture tours. During this early period in Thurman s career, he began to
formulate and cultivate the major ideas that would comprise his ... Show more content on

By acknowledging each individual s status as a child of God, the damning effects of fear, deception,
and hatred can be eradicated by the powerful love of Christ. For Thurman, the true spirit of Christian
relationships rests in the ability to love one s enemies. Although this specific teaching is not new or
unique, its application to Christian relationships (especially between the disinherited and the
privileged ) is extremely pertinent. Enmity between two individuals or two groups of individuals
causes a physical and spiritual disunion that obstructs the individual s ability to experience the power
of Christ. Therefore, I must resolve to always demonstrate an attitude of love toward my enemies in
order to preserve the unity that is so vital to genuine spiritual experience. Ultimately, I found Howard
Thurman s theory on the disinherited to be both logically valid and extremely thought provoking. In
truth, I experienced a deeper engagement with Thurman s ideas than any other spiritual practitioner
that I have explored thus far this semester. This study has caused me to reflect on my own status as a
privileged individual, realize my need to identify with the disinherited, and remember to demonstrate
love to my

The Marketing Mix 4P s
To determine the marketing mix for a product is essential to any company. They are the main variables
through which a firm carries out its marketing strategies. These variables are more commonly known
as the 4 P s. They are…

· Promotion
Here, I will look into detail the marketing mix for Nokia.
Product
The product is the most important aspect of the marketing mix. The reason for this is that without a
product, a company will be like a vehicle without wheels. It is only after determining the product that

Transformation Of King Ashoka
King Ashoka, also known as Ashoka the Great , was the beloved third emperor of the ancient Indian
Maurya Empire, a predominantly vast Hindu kingdom that stretched all the way from modern day
Afghanistan in the west to Bangladesh in the east, including parts of Iran and most of the Indian sub
continent. Ashoka ruled from approximately 268 BCE to 232 BCE, an era characterized by one of the
largest religious expansions in ancient India.2 In 261 BCE, King Ashoka invaded and conquered the
neighboring kingdom of Kalinga, in one of the most fiercest and bloodiest battles in ancient Indian
history.3 The mass casualties and staggering loss of life caused a profound and drastic change in King
Ashoka, as he was so deeply affected by the death and destruction of war. He sought peace/non
violence and found Buddhism, which he embraced whole heartedly. King Ashoka s personal journey
and transformation not only affected him, but also helped transform an entire empire and inspire a
world religion. King Ashoka was both influential and instrumental in the expansion of Buddhism
throughout the Maurya Empire and beyond its borders. King Ashoka quickly renounced military
expansionism and began to follow the teachings of Buddha and also incorporate Buddhist philosophy,
teachings, and principles into his governing style. He ruled fairly and justly, stating that the power of
love is greater than the power of the sword. 4 Initially, Hinduism and Jainism were the dominant
religions of the land,

True Professionalism is Related to a Person´s Attitudes,...
Nowadays, the competitiveness of companies and the fight for customers, it s increasingly more and
more difficult to attract and retain clients on their side. For this reason, companies must pay great
attention and care to their employees, as they are the ones in constant contact with customers. This
essay will talk about professionalism, particularly what constitutes professionalism, what are the
consequences when employees do not follow the company s conduct for the big company such as
Rolls Royce and will look at some of the facts how Rolls Royce deals with these kind of issues.
Furthermore, I will reflect on the situation when acting as professional become an issue during the
placement with Rolls Royce. The word professionalism is often referred to as person s attitude,
behaviour , and capabilities in their job (Smith and McKeen, 2003). Maister (1997) explains, being
professional does not necessary describes a person with a set of job qualifications, it is rather a label
one have to earn in the eyes of others. So what describes true professionalism? There is no generally
adopted norm of what constitutes professionalism, what defines professionalism in one company may
not apply somewhere else, however, it is recognized that manners and appearance are inseparable part
of it (Smith and McKeen, 2003). Physical appearance is just as important as actual behaviour on the
job. If IT employee s appearance does not fit with the professional image of the rest of the

René Ramírez Gallegos1
When discussing the development of a political project from the Left there are two opposing positions
or aspects: those which promote the idea of better managing and regulating capitalism that is, striving
for good capitalism and those who hold anticapitalist positions. The author of this article argues that a
Left that does not give up on the generation of alternatives to capitalism but at the same time is

This publication does not seek to discuss Ecuador ́s political proposal towards building said socialism
exhaustively or in depth. This analysis has been developed at length in other writings4 and is also
embodied in the National Plan for Good Living, 2009 20135. In this occasion, it is more pertinent to
posit a philosophical political analysis of one of the flagship initiatives that Ecuador has presented to
the world and that is a symbolic example of the dispute of the logic of capitalist development : the
Yasuní ITT6 Initiative. This project consists of keeping the oil underground (not drilling for it) in one
of the most mega diverse areas of the world, located in the Ecuadorian Amazon. In that sense it is a
concrete example of the ways a society of good living can be built. The framework for this analysis is
a discussion taking place globally among a certain branch of Leftist thought that believes that what is
most progressive and achievable nowadays is to devise and construct improvements in the
administration of capitalism in other words, to promote its good 7 side and another stance, which
presents anti capitalism from a purely theoretical perspective, regardless of the political viability of
their proposals.
Before delving into the debate on the Yasuní ITT Initiative, in the first part of this article I would like
to place the proposal to keep the oil underground in context, so

The Sacred Ritual Of Marriage
Rituals can be described as an outward expression of inward intention (Rituals, Rites and Festivals,
n.d.). Rituals have a prominent role in today s society as they enable people of all religions to
communicate and form a stronger connection with their God or Gods (Rituals, Rites and Festivals,
n.d.). Over the years rituals have evolved because society s values have changed and modern culture
has had an influence on them. The sacred ritual of marriage in Catholic Christianity and Hinduism,
while superficially different, are essentially the same. This is particularly evident when analysing
similarities and differences in each faith s perception of the purpose of marriage, the structure of the
two wedding ceremonies, the symbols involved in the two ceremonies, and the role of family in the
Catholic and Hindu wedding ceremony.
An area of similarity within Catholic weddings and Hindu weddings is the purpose of marriage. Both
Catholicism and Hinduism represent the purpose of marriage through their sacred texts and traditional
ideas. In Catholicism the sacrament of Marriage is represented as a sacred bond between a man and a
woman that pledges them to be faithful lifelong spouses, loving and caring for each other and lovingly
raising and guiding the children they bring into the world (Stoutzenberger, 2000). The emphasis that is
placed on having children is seen in the Bible when God says to Adam and Eve, Be fruitful and
multiply and fill the earth (Genesis 1:28). Similarly the

Religion In Mahatma Gandhi
Another trait Gandhi possessed due to his religion was courage. Mahatma Gandhi had no fear. To
Gandhi fearlessness was an imperative part of religion. He even described religion by saying, Where
there is fear there is no religion ( Young India, 2 9 26, 308). Further, Gandhi believed this courage to
follow one s beliefs improved all aspects of life. Gandhi once said, Religion which takes no account of
practical affairs and does not help to solve them, is no religion ( Young India, 7 5 25, 164). Religion to
Gandhi required an effect on everyday life. Gandhi had no fear and allowed religion to affect his daily
affairs. This was imperative to the many radical movements and ideas Gandhi proposed. When he
founded the Natal Indian Congress at twenty five, he was a tabula rasa: he tried out ideas which in an
established political organization would have been directly laughed at (Nanda, Shri B. R). However,
due to his fearlessness, even when faced with defeat, Gandhi pushed onwards. He stated, Defeat
cannot dishearten me. It can only chasten me. I know that God will guide me ( Young India, 3 7 24,
218). And by pushing onwards, Gandhi was able to see change in India and change in the world.
Furthermore, because of his faith in God, Gandhi was not scared of other physical dangers. He stated,
God saves me so long as He wants me in this body. The moment His wants are satisfied, no
precautions on my part will save me ( Bapu s Letters to Mira, 91). Gandhi wasn t afraid,

Similarities Between Communism And Fascism
The Goal of the Leader
Communism, Fascism, and religion were the prominent political ideologies of the twentieth century.
Each political ideology had different views on how to deal with the modern world. Communism and
Fascism were created in a time when the nations state was the most important thing for citizens.
Communist leaders rejected the idea of the state, while fascism embraced it. Iranian leaders were
primarily focused with Shi a, a sect of Islam, which was unique compared to the outside world. In
dealing with the modern views of the time the political leaders based their movements on people or a
concept, while causing a common enemy. Due to the time periods and the location in which the
political ideologies occurred the leaders of the movements had different enemies, but the bases of
communism, fascism, and Iranian Shi as is similar. Communism started in Russia, 1912 but did not
become the official ruling party until 1918. V.I. Lenin was one of the founders ... Show more content

One of the key enemies against communism in Russia was capitalism. Capitalist were used
synonymously to name the group of people who were to blame for the peasants being poor and not
having land, labor, and peace . Capitalism is primarily concerned about private ownership, and trade,
which is against communist ideology. The primary message of communism is that there is no private
ownership because everyone works together, not for himself or herself. The other primary enemy
against communism occurring in Russia was the old regime, which was Czarist Russia. Communist
leaders believed the old regime followed the footsteps of capitalism, which is keeping the poor, poor
and solely benefiting the rich. In having modern concepts be deemed the enemy, Communist leaders
of Russia were able to persuade the people of their state to follow their movement to the fullest
potential or they would be deemed helping the

The Story of an Hour, by Kate Chopin Essay
The Story of an Hour is a stark display of female rejection of the norms of society. This work, by Kate
Chopin, begins with a woman going through the stages of grief for her husband s death. For the wife,
Louise Mallard, this was an awakening of a new life. This new life is cut short as the information that
led her to believe this news turns our false. Kate Chopin reveals that even the desire for love is
trumped by the need for freedom and independence, through her use of precise diction and syntax, and
symbolism. With respect to word choice, Chopin foreshadows the idea that it was possible that Mrs.
Mallard s husband was not dead at all. From the start she describes the news as possible (79). To
further show this, she chooses to use ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is comfortable and roomy (79). These descriptors help the reader to understand the transition she is
going through. Due to the loss of her husband, she now has room to live her life, and to do so
comfortably, without the intrusion or imposition of her husband. The outside world is described as
being aquiver with the new spring life (79). She also describes the feeling of freedom as creeping out
of the sky (80). It is hard for Mrs. Mallard to accept the new feelings of her freedom. The feeling had
to creep due to the fact that her freedom was granted on the premise of her husband s death. This
feeling, however, comes out of the sky as to show the new life promised to her, but it is still hard for
her to believe that she wanted this freedom more than love. This is further displayed by the use of the
phrase monstrous joy (80). The juxtaposition of these words shows very well the emotional state of
Louise Mallard. The joy she is feeling is something that others could call monstrous, but the prison
she was in previously could never be called joyful. Most important is the repetition of the word free
(80). Muttering this under her breath is a sign that she cannot believe what she is even saying. It is at
this moment that she realizes that she is free and can now enjoy her life as an independent person. In
resisting this new emotion Mrs. Mallard was feeling, Chopin describes her as powerless as her two
white slender hands would have been (80).

Chipotle Mexican Grill Is A Fast Casual Restaurant Chain...
Chipotle Mexican Grill is a fast casual restaurant chain that has locations in five countries. It was
founded as a single location in 1993 by Steve Ells. Since then it has grown tremendously to have over
two thousand locations. It is one of the most successful fast casual restaurants ever in the services
sector of the S P 500 with earnings over $475,602,000 in 2015, despite some bad media attention.
Overall, Chipotle Mexican Grill is a strong company as of 2015. From 2013 to 2015 Chipotle
Mexican Grill (CMG) has grown significantly. Its total assets have increased by 35%, and its revenue
has increased from $3,214,591,000 to $4,501,223,000. That is an increase of 40%. In addition, CMG
opened over 400 new restaurants in that time period. All of that combined shows that CMG is growing
very fast. That growth is great as long as CMG s management is cautious about how its financing the
growth. When a company is growing so fast, it is a good idea to look at how it is paying for the
growth. A good way to do that is by looking at the current ratio because it shows assets compared to
liabilities. CMG s current ratio over this time period has varied a good bit: 2013 = 3.34, 2014 = 3.5,
and 2015 = 2.91. What stands out in that is the decrease in 2015 which could indicate issues with the
company. However, after looking more in depth, it can be seen that this decrease is most likely related
to the company s fast growth in that year and its need to finance the growth. In addition, CMG s

Business Class C Should Not Continue
5.
a) Business class C should not continue to be underwritten using the figures shown. This is because
the class has resulted in a £25 million loss for the underwriting company.
Total premium expenditure LOSS
£125,000,000 £150,000,000 = £25,000,000 (shown in brackets on the account sheet as it s a loss)
b)
To make an in depth analysis as to whether class C of business should continue to be written might
require a look at the class over a number of years. The figures shown could be or a year that is
unrepresentative in a wider time spread, as other years before this could show the class C to be a
profitable class to write. Furthermore the value of losses and frequency of losses would show whether
it was one very infrequent event that has cause a large loss that has led to the line not being profitable
in the figures shown. However, if it was lots of smaller claims, this might show class C business could
be written profitably, if the premium was representative of the risk insurer JEL is exposing itself to.
There is simply not enough information available to show the circumstances that have led to an
overall loss of £25 million for class C business. Moreover, class C may be offered at a reduced
premium rate if an insured purchases class A or B. this therefore may not be a profitable line to write
on its own, but if it brings the profitable business in as clients place multiple insurance policies with
the same insurer, and it s a sales method, class C

A Critical Analysis Of Kim By Rudyard KiplingKim
Fatima V Montano Luna English 100 Professor Timonthy J. Juntilla 30 November 2017 Kim Research
Paper Rudyard Kipling s genuine work was obtusely polemical; however, a genius radical message
overruns his fictional too. Even though the novel Kim, with its lively portrayals of the geology and
societies of India, is by all accounts a festival of the subcontinent and its local people groups, it, in any
case, is organized as an expert radical work. As one with this feeling of good commitment to force
English government on the dull races of the world was the storing up of financial and worldwide
power for England itself, the biggest domain the world had ever observed. Along these lines, the
upkeep of the feeling of good commitment in India was a critical piece of the belief system behind the
monetary welfare of the domain. Kipling makes an extremely specific depiction of the political
condition of India that distinctly disregards the developing clash between the local Indians and
political condition severs to keep up the quality and legitimacy of the British presence in India. The
way the countries justify this practice was because they have found resources that they didn t have in
their countries: like in Africa, India, and parts of Asia. British found out that these countries had raw
materials as well, for instance, some of the sources that were found in India were cotton, coffee, tea,
jute, indigo, and opium. The way British implemented the countries in Africa and

The largest portion of the population of the city of Pompeii is comprised of preternatural humans.
After humans, apeiron are the most numerous. Many humans in Pompeii have been changed by the

Mundane humans are outnumbered in Pompeii, and not a single member of the Council or Listeners is

One quirk of having such a high population of apeiron is a consequence of their psychic connection.

The Second Sex By Simone De Beauvoir Summary
In both the worlds of existential feminism and radical feminism, the housewife is separated a degree
below other women, as a figure deemed lesser, or even other, form women within the feminist
movement. In Simone de Beauvoir s 1949 novel The Second Sex, the housewife embodies the
feminine other, a woman who takes the reason men subjugated women, embraces it, and then uses it to
her advantage. She becomes the example of how women adapt and survive in the patriarchy, and the
women who sacrifices her autonomy to live in comfort and safety, rather than attempt to reform
society. Beauvoir makes the housewife the definition of the feminine other to justify how women
sacrifice their autonomy and ability to obtain transcendence if they remain complacent in male society.
What defines women as the other is not found in the state of nature or social history but in her biology
and the overbearing consequences of her ability to become pregnant. In Beauvoir s work, Women are
inherently different from men in the biology and how omnipresent it is in their lives, and biology
defines women because at the time she wrote The Second Sex the consequences of sex permeated
every aspect of daily life. With birth control still difficult to obtain, the consequences of sex are at the
forefront of a women s mind, and if she wants to be sexually active, she must constantly consider the
impacts another life will have on her finances, her home, her relationships and her work, if she is able
to find it. A

Endgame Play Comparison
Imagining is better than seeing. Within this essay, I aim to discuss Endgame, a play written by Samuel
Beckett. This review differs from the usual play review styles as is it is based on the written form of
the play, and not on the actual play s performance live on stage by professional actors. Plays in their
written form, stimulate the readers imagination and allow each to create the image of the play s set in
the way his or her mind allows. The creator s detailed instructions for each scene, provide a limited
range of possibilities of how one can imagine each dialogue, while still keeping it open to the
imagination regarding the emotions one can experience. Beckett has successfully stimulated my
imagination and took me on a journey of various sentiments. The plot involves around the two main
protagonists, Hamm, who is sitting in an armchair, in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I believe it is Beckett s attempt to break the dullness and create glimpses of minor parts of happiness,
not just for the actors, but for the audience as well. His humor, however, is dark. The audience is
intrigued to laugh at points where sympathy and compassion should be the appropriate responses.
Such moments are more pronounced between Nagg and Nell. Them being in the trash bin and trying
to cheer each other through pathetic memories of the past does show the heart rending situation the
two of them are experiencing, where one is expected to feel compassionate towards them. However,
Beckett wishes the audience to laugh or even smile for their situation, but certain individuals can
easily misunderstand his intentions. It is important to note, however, that Nagg and Nell are found to

Knee Injuries Are Extremely Common
Knee related injuries are extremely common, especially in sports. With various sports programs
increasing in schools, the amount of reported knee injuries has also increased. One of the most
common knee injuries is an anterior cruciate ligament, or ACL. The ACL injury is mostly common in
sports that deal with jumping, running, and landing movements such as soccer (the most common),
basketball, volleyball, lacrosse, and many more. It was found in a study done on the prevention and
rehabilitation of pediatric anterior cruciate ligament injuries that about 6.3% of ACL injuries are
reported between the ages of 5 to 12 years old, and about 10.6% are reported within the ages 13 to 17

METHODS
For this study one of the top high school Varsity and Jr varsity division in Gwinnett County is used.
The teams have a total of 30 students between the ages of 12 19 years old. Only the top ten students
from each team were selected. Legal consent from the school board, the coaches, the students
parents/legal guardian, and the students must be obtained prior to starting the study. This study will
last for eight weeks with four meetings a week prior to the start of the normal practice season. Each
session will last two hours and a screening done by a sports physician and a certified strength and
conditioning coach will take place in other to determine who is eligible to participate eligibility.
Exclusions are made if a player has had an injury or a surgery involving either leg prior the study. The
top ten picks are then divided randomly in two groups, group A and group B, with five participants in
each. Their age, height, and body mass are collected in a data sheet created on excel. Participants are
required to be present for all warmups and training sessions in order to participate in the study. Each
group has to have 10 minutes of standardized neuromuscular warm up, with 5 minutes of submaximal
running followed by a dynamic stretch routine consisting of functional exercises:

Daisy And Jig Character Analysis
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder Margaret Wolfe Hungerford. An immortal and self explanatory
quote like this has no reason to be questioned. One person may value someone s outer and inner
beauty differently than the next, therefore it is his or her decision whether someone is beautiful or not.
But what if someone spent his or her life trying to alter the people s perceptions around them; what if
someone spent his or her life manipulating the beholder s eyes to view that person as the precious
diamond in a cave full of stones? Hills Like White Elephants , a short story written by Ernest Mil ler
Hemingway, illustrates this rebellion and control through his belligerent and prominent character, Jig.

Through Nick s perspective, the reader can already tell that all of Daisy s actions happen for their own
reason; it is known that Daisy is intelligent and on top of everything, yet she pretends to be completely
unaware of the long term affair that her rich husband has been having. Daisy also throws out some
unexpected bursts of intellect in conversation, indicating a hidden brainpower beneath the charade. I
m glad it s a girl. And I hope she ll be a fool that s the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful
little fool (Fitzgerald 17). This quote shows that Daisy is fully aware of the role that she feels women
should play in the 1920s. Daisy hopes her daughter will grow up to be a fool because it is a reflection
of herself and her attitude. She is in an abusive and an untrusted relationship but all she does is
pretend to be oblivious to the people around her. She knows of the struggle that women have to go
through during her time period and wants her daughter to be unaware of the inequality and negativity
that comes with being a woman. By blurting out this disheartening and honest statement about gender
roles and the power that comes with it shows that there is a lot more depth and intellect that comes

Made in India
There are about 65 million scooter owners in India. Families are forced to pile onto scooters, or make
several trips to commute. Clearly, this is not an ideal form of transportation for most people. However,
the low income in India has prohibited individuals from purchasing a vehicle than can cost more than
$10,000. Is India s Tata Motors new four door, four seat, rear engine car for $2,500 a good alternative

In an article, No, No, No, Don t Follow Us, Thomas L. Friedman, who became the New York Times

There is no question that there is a demand for cheap cars in India and it will be beneficial for their
economy to produce cars to meet that demand. Once the people s car is successful in India, India s
market will grow when they begin exporting to other fast growing markets where a relatively few
percent of people own cars. Soon India will not only be competing at the top of auto industry, but it
will be competing at the top with the innovative People s Car.
The People s Car will also provide reliable, cost efficient transportation to consumers. Tata is planning
to produce 250,000 People s Cars within the first year (Giridharadas). Considering that India s middle
class is almost 300 million, the potential for sales is enormous. Profits will be made, leading to
benefits for both India and Tata Motors. Even if the profit margins are small, the numbers of products
being sold will generate a sufficient amount to make it worthwhile for Tata Motors.
To take Friedman s point of view into consideration, we will consider the fact that cheaper cars will
increase traffic and pollution. Isn t this inevitable? In this fast paced world, everyone wants more. Let
s consider asking Americans to give up their cars for scooters or a bus ride everyday. How many of
them would allow this? Very few. I acknowledge a statement by Andrew Buncombe, a writer for The

Flint Water Crisis Who knew that Flints water could be deadly? Everyone should be allowed to have
the same clean water to bathe in, drink, cook with, and to have fun in. Unfortunately, residents in Flint
could not do this for quite some time. These residents were bathing and drinking from this water
before the founding of high lead levels in it. Not only was it because of the high lead levels, but the
pipes were very old as well. Due to actions made by the city council this caused a lot of problems for
the residents in the city of Flint. This effected children, pregnant women, and the elderly the most.
Many lawsuits were filed against the city of Flint. It was so serious to the point that Governor Snyder
had to declare a state of emergency. This took place January 5th of 2016. High levels of lead in the
water and old pipes lead to lawsuits, the sickness of Flint residents, and the city of Flint not doing their
job. Before the water crisis, Flint was receiving water from Detroit s water pipes which gave out very
healthy water. Detroit had enough water to share with other cities. Doing this was not free though and
it was not very cheap. Flint had to pay Detroit in order to use the water. After so long, Detroit s water
system had begun to cost too much for Flint. Flint then switched to another water system. The Flint
city council voted to switch their supply of water from Detroit to the Karegnondi Water

William Shakespeare s Sonnet 73
William Shakespeare That time of year thou mayst in me behold (Sonnet 73)
The sonnet, originating in Italy, was formed by Francesco Petrarch. The Petrarchan sonnet, originally
consisting of two quatrains and a couplet, was soon brought to England where William Shakespeare
took an interest in this unknown form of poetry. Shakespeare revised the sonnet so it consisted of three
quatrains with the rhyming scheme of abab cdcd efef and a rhyming couplet at the end. This revised
sonnet was then referred to as a Shakespearean sonnet. Shakespeare wrote in total 154 sonnets
originating in the early 1590 s, many of his sonnets were linked together. Sonnets 71 74 are linked by

When it s written sunset fadeth in the west this is when the poet s last breath leaves him leading into
the second quatrain.
Within the second quatrain, blackness is essential when it comes to the imagery. When it is written
which by and by black night doth take away , black night is a metaphor for death itself. As the black
night closes around day so does it close around the life of the poet. When death s second self is
mentioned it relates to shakespeare s earlier work of Macbeth when Macbeth himself says sleep is the
death of each day s life . This shows that shakespeare uses the common theme of death throughout his
works.
The third quatrain, filled with pathos and marvelous metaphors, evokes the image of fading coals in
the ashes of youth along with an abundance of imagery. The persona, once plentiful with life and love,
now is feeding of off his foreseeable death. The ashes can also refer
to the personas youth, one that is fading and no longer exists in his eyes. The poet no longer has
inspiration so he relies on the memory of his youth and is consumed by the loss of it. The sonnet turns
into more of a pitiful plea at the end begging for his lost youth as he is fading into oblivion. He wishes
to be remembered in the favorable light of his youth, not in the state in which he depicts himself
throughout the poem. The poet hates the way time has ravaged him mentally and physically. This last
pitiful part of the

Depression, Suicide And Suicide In Hamlet By William...
Life can be a real pain. Several millions of people end their lives every year. In the article, Depression,
suicide, and deliberate self harm in adolescence, it informs, However...in 1990 the suicide rate for
males aged 15 19 years was 57 per million, (Harrington). Harrington also states that men have a
higher rate in suicide than women. A character with the name of Hamlet, in the play Hamlet, felt the
same way as these boys and men. Once again, the amazing and wonderful William Shakespeare is the
creator of this tragedy. Hamlet was, and still is, one of Shakespeare s greatest hits. In the play, Hamlet
loses his father, for his uncle murders him. Hamlet also becomes devastated due to his mother
remarrying quickly to his uncle. His love life goes down the drain as well, and Hamlet becomes
depressed. In Hamlet, Hamlet speaks three soliloquies, in the first three acts of the plays, each
portraying their own message. In the play, act one, Hamlet wishes he was dead, but cannot kill
himself, which is the main message of this soliloquy. The reason to why he cannot commit, is because
of God. God does not think that it is right for anyone to kill his or her self. Therefore, Hamlet thinks if
he ends his life, that he will be sent straight to hell by God. He also says that life is terrible and that
nothing in life ever becomes better. Hamlet then says, the garden is filled with weeds. Meaning, the
world is not attended, it has several toxins. Hamlet at one point, comes to the

around the needs of humanity in searching for understanding. Mathematics emerged from the
necessity to quantify time and number. The earliest evidence of counting occurred in mountains of
Africa were notched bones and scored pieces of wood and stone were discovered. As human
advancements started to surface in Asia and the near east, frameworks and essential appreciation of
arithmetic, geometry and polynomial math started to develop. Mathematics has made a lot of progress

Abstract
The paper focuses on Entrepreneur s Marketing Source (EMS), a workbook idea owned by Brent
Banda. The study analyses the two options available to Brent on which the future of his company
depends. The first option is the strategic alliance with Imagine and the second option is to work on
workbook which will deal with marketing related issues for small and medium size businesses for
example proper advertising and product development. The advantages and disadvantages related to the
options are discussed with a final recommendation based on personal opinion.
Strategic Alliance with Imagine Alternative As stated in the case study, Brent is not a graphic designer,
thus he relies on other local companies to create finished ads and web pages. Recently he was
approached by a design firm he has worked with named Imagine with a business offer. With Imagine
willing to let EMS share a rented office space the client referral promise, the offer seems worthwhile
but it has its own advantages and disadvantages. The first advantage that Brent has with the alliance is
that he will not have to struggle to look for customers for the reason of Imagine being an established
business with a hefty number of loyal customers. Brent will have access to clients much larger than
those he has at present. The second advantage

In fact, MBS has a structure where borrowers, or homeowners, pass through their principal and
interest payments to the owner, or investor, of the MBS. The housing market was at all times high and
everyone was attracted to invest in this sector. However, there was not enough money for the public to
buy houses at such a high price and as a result, people sought for ways including seeking home loans
from local banks. Even people with bad credit history were motivated to buy houses for the high gains
thereafter. The banks and brokers lent out money at the prime lending rate to people with average
credit history, while lending at a higher than prime lending rate to people with bad credit history,
without much prior investigations. At the same time, investment banks offered attractive rates of
returns to the investors of MBS. As MBS are often repackaged and resold as obligations to collateral
debts, the lower quality of credit ultimately resulted massive defaults as the housing market declined.
Superficially, the high interest subprime loan presents nothing that is devious or illegal, it is simply a
case of lender taking on a higher risk and receiving a higher interest rate in compensation. Yet, nearly
half of the loans made in 2006 were of the subprime variety, which increased the risk of borrowers
defaulting on many banks balance sheets. According to the Brookings study notes, Prime mortgages

The Pros And Cons Of Nuclear Power Plants
For many decades, Nuclear Power Plants have become a growing argument between the educated and
uneducated. Some have grown towards the growth of these plants for their technological innovations
and environmental benefits. Others have walked away from the deal, repeatedly exclaiming the risks
and money that builds up over time. Though these problems remain open for everyone to see, those
arguments are outdated and overstated. In addition, there are far more positives than the eyes can see,
the negatives, however, are an eyesore. Nuclear power plants will benefit towns for the strict safety

Nazi Germany And The Nazi Party Essay
Propaganda was significant in Germany in the period of 1933 to 1945 as it affected the people of
Germany greatly since propaganda was presented to people in their everyday lives in some manner or
form, making it inescapable. Propaganda was used mainly to display anti Semitic beliefs about Jews
and others who were thought of as irrelevant to Nazi Germany such as the disabled, mentally ill,
gypsies, communists and non Aryans who were all affected greatly by propaganda. Hitler and the Nazi
Party achieved this through their propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels who used every form of media
(radio, posters, newspapers, films, music and the arts) to portray the greatness of German culture.
Though, some of these forms of propaganda displayed different levels of effectiveness making some
forms more significant than others.
One of the most significant forms of propaganda in their impact on Germany was the use of radio.
Radios and radio licences summed to 90% of the ministry s expenses, which show how Hitler s
messages, speeches and Nazi related broadcasts reached such a broad audience of the German
population because radio was extremely accessible. Hitler made sure that radios were cheap enough
for every family to afford so that his speeches were publicised, giving Hitler more opportunity to
manipulate Germany and glorify the Nazi party. The significance of this form of propaganda is that
the radio was such a regular part of family life, and would ve been played frequently

Foul Is Fair In Macbeth
Imagine. You see your son being dragged away. There s nothing you can do about it. You reach out to
him. You re told it s for the better. You remember. Remember the times when you played with him,
watched him grow up. Anger. Anger rising that you can t stop. Angry at the government. Angry at
unfair treatment. It s unfair. It s foul. But that s not what they think, they think it s fair, that foul is fair.
You might be thinking, what is he going on about? The Stolen Generation? The treatment of
Aboriginal people? Land Rights? Fair is Foul, Foul is Fair . It s a very tricky concept. We find it in
literature, media, political speeches and in everyday life. It is extensively explored in Shakespeare s
Macbeth, where it means that appearances are often deceptive, and that things are different than what
they appear to be. It points towards deception where appearance is not reality. Shakespeare s Macbeth,
encounters the witches and they plant the idea in his head that he deserves to be king. This makes him
vulnerable to his ambitious wife and leads to his downfall as he becomes increasingly entangled in his
own ambitious and murderous deeds. Although, in real life, it is used as a paradox, a paradigm, a
chiasmus, to criticise a person s double standards and dual personalities. It is used against politicians
who present their dual personalities to the public, motivated purely by self interest rather than acting
for honourable or unselfish reasons. This is how the British and

In 1914 Deutsche Bank rethought their strategy once again. As the banks biggest competitors,

Following the merger of Deutsche Bank and Bergisch Märkischen Bank in 1914 and Norddeutschen

Stereotypes Of Anti-Semitism In The 19th Century
There is always an entity in the air, a presence that encroaches beneath the ground, or even an
engrossing feeling that is within the human psyche. This invisible social force that influences
everyday life is called prejudice, to which the excruciating backlash Jews have received for their
cultural identity and traditions even has a term for it: anti semitism. There are a large variety of anti
semitic myths that been associated by inaccurate stereotypes to which ignorance continues to breed. In
order to properly understand how to debunk these pigeonhole categories, three particular myths will
be explored to further comprehend how anti semitism was in the past and how it currently relates to
contemporary times. Jews known for contributing to well poisoning during the Black Death alongside
how this group has been linked to being known as Christ killers and ritual murders provide an ugly,
erroneous portrayal that harms the Jewish community and should be ended immediately.

year. On March 30, 1533, he became Archbishop of Canterbury, and forced him to hide his marriage.
Once his interview was approved by the Pope, Cranmer declared King Henry s marriage to Catherine

For some time he stood against the Marian reforms but it was doomed that he would become a victim
of the new melitia . He was charged with treason and imprisoned but not sentenced to death . Instead it
was for heresy that Cranmer was tried and executed. It took a long time to break the peace loving man
but after threats and promises, deprivation and long imprisonment Cranmer did break and signed a
recantation of his firmly held beliefs. Realising that he had been deceived, and would not be released,
Cranmer set about having the last word. As he stood before the pyre he used his final public prayer to
profess his reformed faith, to repudiate the error of transubstantiation and to denounce the Pope .
Then, as the flames licked around him he put the hand that had signed his recantation into the fire first

Analysis Of The Painting Course Of Empire Destruction By...
Destruction is an exterior of tragedy that may come in many forms. When people hear the word
destruction they may think of their own personal experience of destruction or tragedy. That may range
from a house being torn apart by a tornado to a loss of a family member or president being
assassinated. The effects of destruction are tremendous and terrible. That could affect one to thousands
of people at a time resulting in massively spread pain and suffering. In the painting Course of Empire
Destruction, by Thomas Cole (1836), there is a mass tragedy being painted. The tragedy being painted
is the Vandals attack on Rome in 455. The pain and devastation was captured in this painting perfectly,
through many colors and symbols, which affected thousands of people in many different ways. Cole
used many techniques to show the enemy warriors taking over the town. Cole s use of color and
symbols reflect the destruction of the town. In the painting, Cole uses many colors and symbols to
illustrate the effect of the attack. An old sandy color bridge is cast upon the middle of the painting,
which is crumbling apart and crashing into the water. The water in this painting is dark blue and white
showing the choppiness of the water. In the middle of the painting is a white statue with its head
broken off, but still standing, holding a black shield leaning forward towards the center of the
painting. In the background, fire and gray and black smoke cover the landscape. The gray skies

Rick And Murty Analysis
Rick and Morty is an animated sci fi sitcom created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon for Adult
Swim. It follows a cynical, irresponsible, drunken mad scientist named Rick Sanchez and his
somewhat naive grandson Morty while they travel through space and between dimensions using Rick
s portal gun. It s basically Back to the Future except they travel through the multiverse rather than
time (and no one ever awkwardly dates their mom). The science in the show is often just an excuse for
some wonderfully geeky humor. Rick and Morty references enough scientific concepts to do dozens of
these videos but today we re going to use this show as a vehicle to take a look at quantum mechanics.

A Geiger counter and tiny bit of some radioactive element are in the room. Within some time, say one
day, one of the radioactive element s atoms might decay, or there may be no decay. The Geiger counter
can measure whether or not any decay has occurred. If it measures decay, it will release a poison,
which will kill the cat. If it doesn t, it won t. The cat may be thought of as simultaneously both alive
and dead, a state known as a quantum superposition, as a result of being linked to a random subatomic
event that may or may not occur. This thought experiment helps us understand both the Copenhagen
interpretation of quantum mechanics and the problem that Schrödinger saw in it. If the Copenhagen
interpretation suggests the radioactive material can have simultaneously decayed and not decayed in
the sealed environment, then it follows the cat too is both alive and dead until the box is opened.
Common sense tells us this is not the case, and Schrödinger used this to highlight the limits of the
Copenhagen interpretation when applied to practical situations. The cat is actually either dead or alive,
whether or not it has been observed. In the many worlds interpretation, the cat would be both alive and
dead until observed. After that, the universe would split into two timelines. One where cat is alive and
another where the cat is

Nuclear Power in the Soviet Union
The Soviet Union, after World War II, had begun building many facilities for nuclear reprocessing
using many radioactive components. The Russian government, being behind in the nuclear era,
decided they needed to move quickly and start producing a sustainable nuclear chain reaction with
secrecy. One of these facilities they built was so discreet it wasn t on any official maps at that time. In
the town of Ozyorsk, Russia they built the Mayak nuclear fuel processing complex. This particular
accident has been titled and associated with Kryshtym because that was the closest town on an official
map that they could categorize it with. They built this complex between 1945 and 1948 to produce
plutonium for nuclear weapons. Since they had to move fast at building this complex, as well as poor
understanding or little education of nuclear safety, and major disregards for human wellness, the
systems were poorly built. They used what is called an open cycle cooling system, in which they
pumped the water back and forth into their water source. Their main water source was Lake Karachay,
as well as the Tech River. All 6 reactors that the Mayak nuclear complex had used the open cycle
cooling system. They used huge lids weighing 160 tons for the tops of these radioactive components
and systems, and even had them buried 8.2 meters (27 feet) under ground. With these cooling systems
being built with the eager notion to be ahead in the nuclear era, they weren t prepared for any kind of
error. If

Why Winter Driving Is Bad
As all long time residents know, Michigan winters can be brutal. However, even during a normal
winter, you can expect average temperatures that are below freezing for three months out of the year
and snowfall totals ranging between 44 inches and 55 inches. Keeping your pavement clear
throughout the winter typically involves frequent applications of salt or chemical deicers as well as
repeated snowplowing. Between the freeze/thaw cycle, the potential damage from snowplows and the
corrosive actions of deicing materials, your asphalt pavement can take a beating. If you want to
minimize the damage that winter can cause, you should make sure that you have cracks repaired
before the arrival of cold weather.

The Impact of the Industrial Revolution on Western Society
The Industrial Revolution had a significant impact on Western society and the effects were numerous
and mainly positive. The Industrial Revolution began in England in the 1790 s and spread throughout
Europe and eventually to America. The extensive effects of the Industrial Revolution influenced
almost every aspect of daily life and human society in some way. During this time period, widespread
transportation such as railroads became available and important for the movement of goods and
people. Also, new social reforms came about, dealing with critical issues including that of child labor.
In addition, the effects of the revolution resulted in a great improvement in living standards for many
people. Although the positive affects of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, set the minimum age for a child to legally work at 9 and stated that children 9 13 were
not allowed to work for more than twelve hours a day. The act also set guidelines as to what children
were permitted to do while working. The Mines Act of 1842 set the regulation that no female or boy
under ten years of age was to be employed underground in the mines. The factory acts allowed for a
more modern day pattern of work in which men were expecting to be the main wage earners. The
Industrial Revolution increased the awareness of human rights of women and children, and therefore,
accelerated the process of equality in society.
An additional effect of the Industrial Revolution on Western society was the improvement in living
standards for people. The invention of the steam engine, run by coal, allowed factories to be located in
cities and no longer by water. This resulted in people flocking to these densely populated cities for job
opportunities and in turn, eventually led to bad living conditions for many of the inhabitants. It was
believed filthy living conditions in cities were a chief cause of epidemic diseases such as cholera. In
addition, overcrowded, disease ridden slums were viewed as dangerous to physical health, moral
health, and political

Use of Food in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, by Lewis...
Search for food, reproduction, sleep; the primal needs for every uni and multicellular organism is to
consume in order to survive and by doing so ensuring the continued existence of its own species. As a
consequence, eating and drinking is not only an individual but also a common necessity; it is the basis
of a civilization (Keeling 5). But food is more than just nutrition; it can be pleasure or temptation, and
the way how or what is consumed is always as well a mark [for] humankind s morality (qtd. in ibid.:
6). Therefore, it is not surprising that the universal experience of food occupies an important place
within every culture (Katz 197 8). It was Eve s lusty bite into an apple that caused, according to
Christian belief, the Fall and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
2). In fairy tales, as well as in their medieval oral origins, the lack of food is especially prominent
(ibid. 62). In the Brothers Grimm version of Hansel and Gretel, famine is the reason for the
woodcutter to abandon his children, but after the witch s death the siblings find precious jewellery
providing enough wealth not to suffer starvation again . Fairy tales often promised plenty of food to
satisfy hunger (ibid. 62 3); a mere fantasy which was supposed to satiate the reader s appetite in
literature since it often could not be satisfied in their everyday life. But besides the satisfying effect of
fictional food, Hansel and Gretel already hints at a more negative approach to food. The siblings are
tempted by the witch s house consisting of bread and sweets. Especially evangelical discourses
demanded dieting to resist the temptation of sins like gluttony or sloth (Labbe 94). Also the required
dining etiquette of the increasing middle class, as well as the partly lethal food alterations of
nineteenth century England, led to a rising number of didactic tales about right and wrong food (ibid.
93). According to Daniel, the detailed and stimulating descriptions of food in children s literature are a
meant to seduce the child reader to swallow the bitter pill of

  • 2. Howard Thurman Essay Howard Thurman was born in Daytona, Florida (1899) into an overtly segregated and racially biased community. Due to an absence of educational opportunities for African Americans in Daytona, Thurman chose to attend a religiously affiliated high school in the Jacksonville area. As he progressed in age, Thurman developed a unique style of nature mysticism through his veneration of environmental phenomena. Additionally, Thurman was a prolific student who excelled at almost every level of study. After he completed his education, Thurman held teaching positions at various colleges and engaged in wide reaching lecture tours. By acknowledging each individual s status as a child of God, the damning effects of fear, deception, and hatred can be eradicated by the powerful love of Christ. For Thurman, the true spirit of Christian relationships rests in the ability to love one s enemies. Although this specific teaching is not new or unique, its application to Christian relationships (especially between the disinherited and the privileged ) is extremely pertinent. Enmity between two individuals or two groups of individuals causes a physical and spiritual disunion that obstructs the individual s ability to experience the power of Christ. Therefore, I must resolve to always demonstrate an attitude of love toward my enemies in order to preserve the unity that is so vital to genuine spiritual experience. Ultimately, I found Howard Thurman s theory on the disinherited to be both logically valid and extremely thought provoking. In truth, I experienced a deeper engagement with Thurman s ideas than any other spiritual practitioner that I have explored thus far this semester. This study has caused me to reflect on my own status as a privileged individual, realize my need to identify with the disinherited, and remember to demonstrate love to my ... Transformation Of King Ashoka King Ashoka, also known as Ashoka the Great , was the beloved third emperor of the ancient Indian Maurya Empire, a predominantly vast Hindu kingdom that stretched all the way from modern day Afghanistan in the west to Bangladesh in the east, including parts of Iran and most of the Indian sub continent. Ashoka ruled from approximately 268 BCE to 232 BCE, an era characterized by one of the largest religious expansions in ancient India.2 In 261 BCE, King Ashoka invaded and conquered the neighboring kingdom of Kalinga, in one of the most fiercest and bloodiest battles in ancient Indian history.3 The mass casualties and staggering loss of life caused a profound and drastic change in King Ashoka, as he was so deeply affected by the death and destruction of war. He sought peace/non violence and found Buddhism, which he embraced whole heartedly. King Ashoka s personal journey and transformation not only affected him, but also helped transform an entire empire and inspire a world religion. King Ashoka was both influential and instrumental in the expansion of Buddhism throughout the Maurya Empire and beyond its borders. King Ashoka quickly renounced military expansionism and began to follow the teachings of Buddha and also incorporate Buddhist philosophy, teachings, and principles into his governing style. He ruled fairly and justly, stating that the power of love is greater than the power of the sword. 4 Initially, Hinduism and Jainism were the dominant religions of the land, ... Nowadays, the competitiveness of companies and the fight for customers, it s increasingly more and more difficult to attract and retain clients on their side. For this reason, companies must pay great attention and care to their employees, as they are the ones in constant contact with customers. This essay will talk about professionalism, particularly what constitutes professionalism, what are the consequences when employees do not follow the company s conduct for the big company such as Rolls Royce and will look at some of the facts how Rolls Royce deals with these kind of issues. Furthermore, I will reflect on the situation when acting as professional become an issue during the placement with Rolls Royce. The word professionalism is often referred to as person s attitude, behaviour , and capabilities in their job (Smith and McKeen, 2003). Maister (1997) explains, being professional does not necessary describes a person with a set of job qualifications, it is rather a label one have to earn in the eyes of others. So what describes true professionalism? There is no generally adopted norm of what constitutes professionalism, what defines professionalism in one company may not apply somewhere else, however, it is recognized that manners and appearance are inseparable part of it (Smith and McKeen, 2003). Physical appearance is just as important as actual behaviour on the job. If IT employee s appearance does not fit with the professional image of the rest of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In this occasion, it is more pertinent to posit a philosophical political analysis of one of the flagship initiatives that Ecuador has presented to the world and that is a symbolic example of the dispute of the logic of capitalist development : the Yasuní ITT6 Initiative. This project consists of keeping the oil underground (not drilling for it) in one of the most mega diverse areas of the world, located in the Ecuadorian Amazon. In that sense it is a concrete example of the ways a society of good living can be built. The framework for this analysis is a discussion taking place globally among a certain branch of Leftist thought that believes that what is most progressive and achievable nowadays is to devise and construct improvements in the administration of capitalism in other words, to promote its good 7 side and another stance, which presents anti capitalism from a purely theoretical perspective, regardless of the political viability of their proposals. • 11. The Sacred Ritual Of Marriage Rituals can be described as an outward expression of inward intention (Rituals, Rites and Festivals, n.d.). Rituals have a prominent role in today s society as they enable people of all religions to communicate and form a stronger connection with their God or Gods (Rituals, Rites and Festivals, n.d.). Over the years rituals have evolved because society s values have changed and modern culture has had an influence on them. The sacred ritual of marriage in Catholic Christianity and Hinduism, while superficially different, are essentially the same. This is particularly evident when analysing similarities and differences in each faith s perception of the purpose of marriage, the structure of the two wedding ceremonies, the symbols involved in the two ceremonies, and the role of family in the Catholic and Hindu wedding ceremony. An area of similarity within Catholic weddings and Hindu weddings is the purpose of marriage. Both Catholicism and Hinduism represent the purpose of marriage through their sacred texts and traditional ideas. In Catholicism the sacrament of Marriage is represented as a sacred bond between a man and a woman that pledges them to be faithful lifelong spouses, loving and caring for each other and lovingly raising and guiding the children they bring into the world (Stoutzenberger, 2000). The emphasis that is placed on having children is seen in the Bible when God says to Adam and Eve, Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth (Genesis 1:28). Similarly the ... He even described religion by saying, Where there is fear there is no religion ( Young India, 2 9 26, 308). Further, Gandhi believed this courage to follow one s beliefs improved all aspects of life. Gandhi once said, Religion which takes no account of practical affairs and does not help to solve them, is no religion ( Young India, 7 5 25, 164). Religion to Gandhi required an effect on everyday life. Gandhi had no fear and allowed religion to affect his daily affairs. This was imperative to the many radical movements and ideas Gandhi proposed. When he founded the Natal Indian Congress at twenty five, he was a tabula rasa: he tried out ideas which in an established political organization would have been directly laughed at (Nanda, Shri B. R). However, due to his fearlessness, even when faced with defeat, Gandhi pushed onwards. He stated, Defeat cannot dishearten me. It can only chasten me. I know that God will guide me ( Young India, 3 7 24, 218). And by pushing onwards, Gandhi was able to see change in India and change in the world. Furthermore, because of his faith in God, Gandhi was not scared of other physical dangers. He stated, God saves me so long as He wants me in this body. • 14. The Story of an Hour, by Kate Chopin Essay The Story of an Hour is a stark display of female rejection of the norms of society. This work, by Kate Chopin, begins with a woman going through the stages of grief for her husband s death. For the wife, Louise Mallard, this was an awakening of a new life. This new life is cut short as the information that led her to believe this news turns our false. Kate Chopin reveals that even the desire for love is trumped by the need for freedom and independence, through her use of precise diction and syntax, and symbolism. With respect to word choice, Chopin foreshadows the idea that it was possible that Mrs. Mallard s husband was not dead at all. From the start she describes the news as possible (79). Due to the loss of her husband, she now has room to live her life, and to do so comfortably, without the intrusion or imposition of her husband. The outside world is described as being aquiver with the new spring life (79). She also describes the feeling of freedom as creeping out of the sky (80). It is hard for Mrs. Mallard to accept the new feelings of her freedom. The feeling had to creep due to the fact that her freedom was granted on the premise of her husband s death. This feeling, however, comes out of the sky as to show the new life promised to her, but it is still hard for her to believe that she wanted this freedom more than love. This is further displayed by the use of the phrase monstrous joy (80). The juxtaposition of these words shows very well the emotional state of Louise Mallard. The joy she is feeling is something that others could call monstrous, but the prison she was in previously could never be called joyful. Most important is the repetition of the word free (80). Muttering this under her breath is a sign that she cannot believe what she is even saying. It is at this moment that she realizes that she is free and can now enjoy her life as an independent person. In resisting this new emotion Mrs. Mallard was feeling, Chopin describes her as powerless as her two white slender hands would have been (80). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is one of the most successful fast casual restaurants ever in the services sector of the S P 500 with earnings over $475,602,000 in 2015, despite some bad media attention. Overall, Chipotle Mexican Grill is a strong company as of 2015. From 2013 to 2015 Chipotle Mexican Grill (CMG) has grown significantly. Its total assets have increased by 35%, and its revenue has increased from $3,214,591,000 to $4,501,223,000. That is an increase of 40%. In addition, CMG opened over 400 new restaurants in that time period. All of that combined shows that CMG is growing very fast. That growth is great as long as CMG s management is cautious about how its financing the growth. When a company is growing so fast, it is a good idea to look at how it is paying for the growth. A good way to do that is by looking at the current ratio because it shows assets compared to liabilities. CMG s current ratio over this time period has varied a good bit: 2013 = 3.34, 2014 = 3.5, and 2015 = 2.91. What stands out in that is the decrease in 2015 which could indicate issues with the company. However, after looking more in depth, it can be seen that this decrease is most likely related to the company s fast growth in that year and its need to finance the growth. In addition, CMG s ... Juntilla 30 November 2017 Kim Research Paper Rudyard Kipling s genuine work was obtusely polemical; however, a genius radical message overruns his fictional too. Even though the novel Kim, with its lively portrayals of the geology and societies of India, is by all accounts a festival of the subcontinent and its local people groups, it, in any case, is organized as an expert radical work. As one with this feeling of good commitment to force English government on the dull races of the world was the storing up of financial and worldwide power for England itself, the biggest domain the world had ever observed. Along these lines, the upkeep of the feeling of good commitment in India was a critical piece of the belief system behind the monetary welfare of the domain. Kipling makes an extremely specific depiction of the political condition of India that distinctly disregards the developing clash between the local Indians and political condition severs to keep up the quality and legitimacy of the British presence in India. The way the countries justify this practice was because they have found resources that they didn t have in their countries: like in Africa, India, and parts of Asia. • 19. The Second Sex By Simone De Beauvoir Summary In both the worlds of existential feminism and radical feminism, the housewife is separated a degree below other women, as a figure deemed lesser, or even other, form women within the feminist movement. In Simone de Beauvoir s 1949 novel The Second Sex, the housewife embodies the feminine other, a woman who takes the reason men subjugated women, embraces it, and then uses it to her advantage. She becomes the example of how women adapt and survive in the patriarchy, and the women who sacrifices her autonomy to live in comfort and safety, rather than attempt to reform society. Beauvoir makes the housewife the definition of the feminine other to justify how women sacrifice their autonomy and ability to obtain transcendence if they remain complacent in male society. What defines women as the other is not found in the state of nature or social history but in her biology and the overbearing consequences of her ability to become pregnant. In Beauvoir s work, Women are inherently different from men in the biology and how omnipresent it is in their lives, and biology defines women because at the time she wrote The Second Sex the consequences of sex permeated every aspect of daily life. With birth control still difficult to obtain, the consequences of sex are at the forefront of a women s mind, and if she wants to be sexually active, she must constantly consider the impacts another life will have on her finances, her home, her relationships and her work, if she is able to find it. • 27. Paper On Flint Water Crisis Jamari Steward Crews Professor Rescoe English 150 039 2 December 2016 Flint Water Crisis Who knew that Flints water could be deadly? Everyone should be allowed to have the same clean water to bathe in, drink, cook with, and to have fun in. Unfortunately, residents in Flint could not do this for quite some time. These residents were bathing and drinking from this water before the founding of high lead levels in it. Not only was it because of the high lead levels, but the pipes were very old as well. Due to actions made by the city council this caused a lot of problems for the residents in the city of Flint. This effected children, pregnant women, and the elderly the most. Many lawsuits were filed against the city of Flint. It was so serious to the point that Governor Snyder had to declare a state of emergency. This took place January 5th of 2016. High levels of lead in the water and old pipes lead to lawsuits, the sickness of Flint residents, and the city of Flint not doing their job. Before the water crisis, Flint was receiving water from Detroit s water pipes which gave out very healthy water. Detroit had enough water to share with other cities. Doing this was not free though and it was not very cheap. Flint had to pay Detroit in order to use the water. After so long, Detroit s water system had begun to cost too much for Flint. Flint then switched to another water system. The Flint city council voted to switch their supply of water from Detroit to the Karegnondi Water ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Petrarchan sonnet, originally consisting of two quatrains and a couplet, was soon brought to England where William Shakespeare took an interest in this unknown form of poetry. Shakespeare revised the sonnet so it consisted of three quatrains with the rhyming scheme of abab cdcd efef and a rhyming couplet at the end. This revised sonnet was then referred to as a Shakespearean sonnet. Shakespeare wrote in total 154 sonnets originating in the early 1590 s, many of his sonnets were linked together. When it s written sunset fadeth in the west this is when the poet s last breath leaves him leading into the second quatrain. Within the second quatrain, blackness is essential when it comes to the imagery. When it is written which by and by black night doth take away , black night is a metaphor for death itself. As the black night closes around day so does it close around the life of the poet. When death s second self is mentioned it relates to shakespeare s earlier work of Macbeth when Macbeth himself says sleep is the death of each day s life . This shows that shakespeare uses the common theme of death throughout his works. The third quatrain, filled with pathos and marvelous metaphors, evokes the image of fading coals in the ashes of youth along with an abundance of imagery. The persona, once plentiful with life and love, now is feeding of off his foreseeable death. The ashes can also refer to the personas youth, one that is fading and no longer exists in his eyes. The poet no longer has inspiration so he relies on the memory of his youth and is consumed by the loss of it. The sonnet turns into more of a pitiful plea at the end begging for his lost youth as he is fading into oblivion. He wishes to be remembered in the favorable light of his youth, not in the state in which he depicts himself throughout the poem. The poet hates the way time has ravaged him mentally and physically. • 29. Depression, Suicide And Suicide In Hamlet By William... Life can be a real pain. Several millions of people end their lives every year. In the article, Depression, suicide, and deliberate self harm in adolescence, it informs, However...in 1990 the suicide rate for males aged 15 19 years was 57 per million, (Harrington). Harrington also states that men have a higher rate in suicide than women. A character with the name of Hamlet, in the play Hamlet, felt the same way as these boys and men. Once again, the amazing and wonderful William Shakespeare is the creator of this tragedy. Hamlet was, and still is, one of Shakespeare s greatest hits. In the play, Hamlet loses his father, for his uncle murders him. Hamlet also becomes devastated due to his mother remarrying quickly to his uncle. His love life goes down the drain as well, and Hamlet becomes depressed. In Hamlet, Hamlet speaks three soliloquies, in the first three acts of the plays, each portraying their own message. In the play, act one, Hamlet wishes he was dead, but cannot kill himself, which is the main message of this soliloquy. The reason to why he cannot commit, is because of God. God does not think that it is right for anyone to kill his or her self. Therefore, Hamlet thinks if he ends his life, that he will be sent straight to hell by God. He also says that life is terrible and that nothing in life ever becomes better. Hamlet then says, the garden is filled with weeds. Meaning, the world is not attended, it has several toxins. The housing market was at all times high and everyone was attracted to invest in this sector. However, there was not enough money for the public to buy houses at such a high price and as a result, people sought for ways including seeking home loans from local banks. Even people with bad credit history were motivated to buy houses for the high gains thereafter. The banks and brokers lent out money at the prime lending rate to people with average credit history, while lending at a higher than prime lending rate to people with bad credit history, without much prior investigations. At the same time, investment banks offered attractive rates of returns to the investors of MBS. As MBS are often repackaged and resold as obligations to collateral debts, the lower quality of credit ultimately resulted massive defaults as the housing market declined. • 34. Nazi Germany And The Nazi Party Essay Propaganda was significant in Germany in the period of 1933 to 1945 as it affected the people of Germany greatly since propaganda was presented to people in their everyday lives in some manner or form, making it inescapable. Propaganda was used mainly to display anti Semitic beliefs about Jews and others who were thought of as irrelevant to Nazi Germany such as the disabled, mentally ill, gypsies, communists and non Aryans who were all affected greatly by propaganda. Hitler and the Nazi Party achieved this through their propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels who used every form of media (radio, posters, newspapers, films, music and the arts) to portray the greatness of German culture. Though, some of these forms of propaganda displayed different levels of effectiveness making some forms more significant than others. One of the most significant forms of propaganda in their impact on Germany was the use of radio. Radios and radio licences summed to 90% of the ministry s expenses, which show how Hitler s messages, speeches and Nazi related broadcasts reached such a broad audience of the German population because radio was extremely accessible. Hitler made sure that radios were cheap enough for every family to afford so that his speeches were publicised, giving Hitler more opportunity to manipulate Germany and glorify the Nazi party. Fair is Foul, Foul is Fair . It s a very tricky concept. We find it in literature, media, political speeches and in everyday life. It is extensively explored in Shakespeare s Macbeth, where it means that appearances are often deceptive, and that things are different than what they appear to be. It points towards deception where appearance is not reality. Shakespeare s Macbeth, encounters the witches and they plant the idea in his head that he deserves to be king. This makes him vulnerable to his ambitious wife and leads to his downfall as he becomes increasingly entangled in his own ambitious and murderous deeds. Although, in real life, it is used as a paradox, a paradigm, a chiasmus, to criticise a person s double standards and dual personalities.
