Essay On World War
Writing an essay on the topic of World War can be an intricate and challenging task. The sheer
magnitude and complexity of such a historical event demand thorough research, critical analysis,
and a nuanced understanding of the various facets involved. The topic encompasses a vast array
of subtopics, including the causes, consequences, key battles, political dynamics, and the impact
on societies and individuals.
One of the challenges lies in navigating the extensive historical literature and source materials
available. The task requires careful selection and evaluation of primary and secondary sources to
ensure accuracy and credibility. Crafting a coherent narrative that effectively conveys the
historical context, events, and their significance is another hurdle. Balancing the need for depth
and breadth of coverage within the confines of an essay can be demanding, as there is always a
risk of either oversimplification or excessive detail.
Moreover, presenting a unique perspective or argument in the midst of existing scholarship adds
an additional layer of difficulty. The World War topic has been extensively studied, and finding
a fresh angle or contributing a novel interpretation requires a keen analytical mind and a deep
understanding of the subject matter.
The essay must also adhere to academic standards, with proper citation of sources, adherence to
a specific style guide, and logical organization of ideas. Conveying complex historical events in a
coherent and engaging manner while maintaining clarity is a perpetual challenge.
In conclusion, composing an essay on the topic of World War demands a combination of research
skills, critical thinking, and effective communication. It is an intellectual endeavor that
necessitates time, effort, and a genuine passion for unraveling the complexities of historical
events.

The Benefitions Of Hard Work In My Life
As a young child, my Mother always would tell me; If you want something work
hard for it. It s that simple. That saying was constantly being stated around the
house when my brother or I would want to achieve a certain goal in school, sports
or anything. This saying has transformed me over the years into the hard worker
that I am to this day. Throughout my life coaches, family, and teachers regularly
told me to work hard and give 100% effort no matter what and I will succeed. The
characteristic of hard working and constantly giving outstanding effort describes
me as a person immensely because I consistently strive to achieve my goals. Ever
since the age of ten, my Mother told me do chores if I wanted extra money in order
to buy anything my little ten year old heart desired. She composed a chore list and
pinned it to the fridge for me to earn a little money, but only if I did the task the
best I could. Although somehow my Mother can always tell when my brother or I
aren t giving our full potential. How? I am still unsure to this day, but we never
wanted the repercussions that came if one of us got caught slacking. Despite
giving 100% effort and completing the chores the best I could for money seemed
great, I happened to have what seemed to be a mile long chore list. Overtime out of
all my chores, I realized that my main income from ages ten to fourteen involved
scooping up the dog poop in our backyard for a dollar per pile. Despite the gross
appeal, picked up the dog s poop happened to become a steady income rapidly.
Everyday after school I made sure the yard was spotless so I could earn my money.
As years went on, I stopped getting paid to do household chores and they quickly
became an expectation since I live there. With no longer getting paid to do chores I
would soon have to get a job. Eventually I got a job, it was this past summer, I
helped bail hay for my uncle and helping out on his farm when needed. I made sure
I was constantly giving a 100% effort to get that job done because that s what my
Mother taught me to do. Since I was consistently hard working, he knew he could
rely on me. Although a household chore and a real job may seem different, I feel
that I should work hard on any chore or job no
Benefits Of Multilingualism
Multilingualism Making the United States a more multilingual society would carry
with it untold benefits oaks Ursula 20 April 2010. Multilingualism is in debate
amongst people even in the modern times. Multilingualism is beneficial for people to
learn and use. Some might say that multilingualism might be a waste of time. On the
other hand, what is believed is that multilingualism is the supreme thing to do.
Multilingualism is excellent as; languages are a gateway to the global community,
encourages brain growth, important to the security and economic. There are various
reasons to go multilingualism instead of monolingual. One of which is that languages

This demonstrates how the author believes that multilingualism is convenient to
learn and use in everyday life. It connects to the topic that is being spoken about
showing that multingaulism is more useful and will help you in the long run. This all
connects to the main topic because it shows the benefits of multilingualism while
showing that monolingaulism is not the way to go. The final paragraph shall debate
that languages are important to the security and economy. The next account talks
about how Mr. Michael believes that multilingualism will greatly help the economy.
According to Mr. Michael he believes that, there can be more sales and trades
between different speaking merchants . This is a significant thing for people in the
United States with interest and help the economy grow. It shows that while many
may perceive multilingualism as something insignificant and unimportant and
useless, that it is actually quite useful. In the next affirmation Mr. Michael announces
that if more people can communicate in another language besides their mother tongue
then it can be used to talk to other leaders from other countries leaders. Mr. Michael
states as well that there can be more people who work to protect the security and
communication with other leaders . This is vital to protect the citizens and other

Confronting crises of technological annihilation and personal madness, Robert Pirsig
finds each to be a manifestation of a deeper crisis of Reason. In response) he
suggests an alternative to our current paradigm of rationality, the art of motorcycle

emotional and evaluative commitments, he challenges the cultural commonplace
which construes subjective states as distortions of objective reality. In so doing, he
asserts that wholeness or sanity may be achieved only through passionate caring, and

Yet whereas we are never left alone by our technology, we are increasingly lonely,
alienated from our deepest selves. For we have lost touch with our own feelings,
being educated to ignore them in order to function in a technological world. Like
Bergman s intellectual illiterates, we are so uneducated about our inner feelings
that we only learn to talk about them when we break down, and have to be repaired
by the analyst, at the Group, or in the asylum. For, we learn, our feelings distort
our objective perceptions, and thus prevent us from functioning like our machines.
In this vein, Andy Warhol wryly recalls that he had always wanted to be like a
machine, for then it was easier to get along with people. We thus find ourselves
fragmented, our feelings alienated from our world, our lives as well as our literature
being characterizable by T. S. Eliot s phrase, dissociation of sensibility.
Parallel to this public, cultural crisis of technologically induced fragmentation, Pirsig
faces his own personal crisis of fragmentation or madness. Some years earlier he had
been declared clinically insane, and underwent electro shock therapy to annihilate his
mad personality. This earlier self, whom he now calls Phaedrus, had gone mad as a
result of a search for Truth which led him ultimately to repudiate Reason itself.[1]

India Pakistan Negotiation is Best in the Interest of Pakistan
The ongoing rivalry and military grievances between India and Pakistan have
compelled both the countries to invest a considerable amount of their resources into
defense which could be better utilized in initiating development projects. Decades of
internal political disputes and low levels of foreign investment have led to slow
growth and underdevelopment in Pakistan. Agriculture accounts for more than one
fifth of output and two fifths of employment. Textiles account for most of Pakistan s
export earnings, and Pakistan s failure to expand a viable export base for other

Even the leaders of nascent state of Pakistan were warned that they must fence the
way leading to Jammu or they would lose Kashmir. India deprived Pakistan of this
right by claiming Kashmir to be a part of India s territory. India is adamant on
maintaining that Jammu and Kashmir are its integral part. In 1947, India and
Pakistan had war over Kashmir. During the war, it was India which first took the
Kashmir dispute to the United Nations on 1st January 1948 and in the following
year on 1stJanuary 1949, the UN enforced ceasefire between the two countries
(Pakistan Mission To United Nations).Sixty six years have passed since then and
throughout the period Kashmiris have given a lot of sacrifices. Pakistan s
government and leadership today seem eager to find a solution to the issue with
India. Since 1953, more than 150 sessions of talks have been held in vain The
Kashmir issue has remained unresolved till date with people having multiple views
regarding the ownership of Kashmir. Both India and Pakistan wish to make Kashmir
a part of their territory because Kashmir has so many valuable resources such as

Labelling Theory, Deviant Subcultures And Opportunity
Theory
In our ever increasing complex criminal justice systems throughout the world, it is
relevant and important to maintain a substantial amount of knowledge and theory
around this major structural tool. This can be achieved by drawing on the necessary
theoretical background of criminal offending and how our court systems deal with
convicted criminals. However before concluding on the outcomes of courts, it is
essential and appropriate to gain a wealthier understanding of social and
environmental influences on these offenders, as well as to explore the many core
theories that undoubtedly contribute to the pre dispositions and prior characteristics
of a person s deviant offending nature. Through the applied use of situational factors

Whilst applying key features to a youth justice system, they are to be appropriately
placed within the means of a situational theoretical scope. In the process of a youth
offender being charged and sentenced through the youth justice system, sentencing
structure should be based around the reintegration and rehabilitation of the person.
Key features that are already in use or under review in the youth justice system in
Australia take place in the form of diversionary programmes such as cautioning,
family or community therapy and the likes of these programmes. Cautioning among
youth is effective as per their age level, they are subject to a second chance and are
made aware of the consequences of continuing or engaging in the commission of a
new offence. This acts as a promoter for encouragement of good behaviour and works
with the key structures of opportunistic theory. When the participating youth is within
the bounds of the immediate situation they have the choice of withdrawing from that
opportunity . Family and community therapy are also another key feature of this
justice system as it incorporates key criteria that aims to decrease the acceptance and

The Effects Of Media Violence On The Media Essay
The media has become one of the main sources where people obtain their
information from. This information can be taken in knowingly, or through
subliminal messages. The media like magazines, videos, commercials, television
shows, and movies. Since, media has major influence over the public; violence
being portrayed in the media is causing problems. Violence against women in the
media has been happening for decades. The violence has been taking shape in
many forms, as in emotional and physical violence. The types of emotional
violence portrayed in the media include sexualizing, degrading, and treating
women as less than human. The types of physical violence used in the media
include hitting, slapping, kicking, sexual assault, and strangling. For a social
advocacy project, a PowerPoint and letter were made, describing how media has
been using the violence of music to sell products using research and theory from a
psychology of women class. During the advertisement share the load the wife was
doing everything to keep the family in order, while everyone else does what they
wanted to do. The working woman dad was feeling bad just looking at her work so
hard and he realized that he put his wife through the same thing. He was sorry and
wanted to make an effort into helping out with things instead of just letting the
woman do everything. Family life is changing, and so, too, is the role mothers and
fathers play at work and at home. The affects of gender roles on people greatly
Learning And Mastery Based Learning
Wendy Trusty EDU 502 WA 1 May 1, 2015 Nondirective Learning and Mastery
Based Learning There are many learning models available for teachers to use to
ensure that students grow as learners and master content in a timely progression.
Nondirective learning and mastery based learning are two models that are frequently
used by teachers to deliver instruction and assess student performance. Nondirective
learning is a teaching method from the personal family model of learning; while,
mastery learning is part of the behavioral systems family. Both learning methods offer
advantages and disadvantages for the teacher and student. It is the teacher s
responsibility to research different learning methods and determine which method, or
methods will... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Goals of nondirective learning include: helping students to understand their own
needs and values, encouraging empathetic communication, developing emotionally,
and becoming more self aware. Nondirective learning is considered a student centered
model for instruction. Students are responsible for their own decisions about learning
and provided choices during the learning process (Siddiqui, 2013). Mastery learning
is based on the work of Benjamin S. Bloom who suggested that although students
vary widely in their learning rates and modalities, if teachers could provide the
necessary time and appropriate learning conditions, nearly all students could reach a
high level of achievement (Gusky, 2010). In mastery learning, students should be
given adequate time to demonstrate mastery or complete remedial work. Teachers are
responsible for creating units of instruction that directly relate to defined learning
objectives. Students move onto the next set of objectives after demonstrating mastery
(Huitt, 1996). In order to determine if students have mastered the given learning
objectives, teachers monitor student progress through the use of formative
assessments throughout the unit of instruction and administer summative
assessments at the end of the unit. Formative assessment data is used by the teacher
to identify what students have learned well, and what remediation is required. After
analyzing the data, teachers use corrective instruction in the form

Social Psychological Theories On The Film Of Kill A...
The film To Kill a Mockingbird is an extraordinary illustration of the Southern
United States stereotypical racial injustice that were exist in the American history.
The main highlights of the film is the innocent black man was falsely accused of
raping a white girl. There were many social psychological theories and
phenomenon were found such as mass delusion, confirmation bias, self serving
bias, conformity, group influence, traditional gender roles throughout the movie.
By providing strong evidences from the film there paper will discuss these social
psychological concepts in detail. An important psychological concept named mass
delusion is observed in the film. A mass delusion is when a large group of people
all hold the same false belief. In the film, all the whites hold false belief about the
blacks. The white folks typically sees the blacks as criminals, rapist etc. That is
why when the black guy Tom Robinson is accused of raping a white girl, none of
the white folks tried to find out the actual truth. They totally believed that the black
guy was the rapist. However, the defendant lawyer Atticus believed that Tom did not
commit the crime. In spite of being a white man, he decides to take Tom s case and
get justice for him. Confirmation bias is noticed in the movie among the white folks.
Confirmation bias is the tendency to search for information that confirms one s
preconceptions. The whites had the wrong perceptions of blacks for many years.
Therefore, all the
The Theory Of Mind Mechanism ( Tomm )
Though many of us may not realize it, humans have a remarkable set of abilities
that allows us to understand, empathize with, and predict others thoughts and
feelings. In other words, the average person is able to put himself in another s
shoes. In our daily lives we tend to take this skill for granted. It is only when
something goes wrong that we realize how important it actually is. For autistic
individuals, this mindreading deficit is all too real. In fact, an inability to engage in
this type of understanding of other s mental states is often taken as the hallmark sign
of autism. Mindreading is defined as the ability to make sense of other people and to
coordinate our behavior with theirs (Bermudez, 354). Many cognitive scientists
believe the theory of mindmechanism (TOMM) is important to mindreading. These
scientists contend that autistic individuals suffer from an impairment to this theory
of mind module. However, others have argued that theory of mind, which is the
ability to form beliefs about the mental states of others , is not a modular ability, but
instead the result of the interaction of many different cognitive skills. In their paper
Generous or Parsimonious Cognitive Architecture? Cognitive Neuroscience and
Theory of Mind, Philip Gerrans and Valerie E. Stone take this view of theory of
mind. I will review this paper and its arguments, then address the response to Gerrans

The Relationship Between Corporate Governance And...
1. This article focuses on the Gompers, Ishii, and Metrick (GIM, 2003) study which
found that strong shareholder rights lead to higher stock price returns and thus value.
This is a great indicator that good governance has a direct effect on the performance
of the firm. The article finds that corporate governance has a positive impact on the
firm / management/ shareholders. However good governance is not always the
correct metric of evaluation for firms and boards. The primary finding of the article is
from an economic analysis defending the relation between corporate governance and
performance. This article examines the relationships among corporate governance
/ corporate performance / capital structure / and corporate ownership structure. Many
of the past studies have taken into consideration only one measure of governance,
while this study focused on seven different governance measures. The article also
looks at the performance of a firm and the relationship it has with management
turnover or disciplinary actions required.
2. This article examines Swiss companies in relation to how board size affects the
value of a firm. The study did not find significant correlation between board size
having a negative impact on firm value or profitability; this is contrary to many
previous studies ( e.g. Yermack, 1996). This article argues against the findings of
Jensen (1993) and Lipton and Lorsch (1992), which stated that larger boards have a
negative effect on firm value; in fact

and All the Light We Cannot See as Siddhartha and Marie Laure are looking for
adventure and their relationships with their fathers are shown strongly with a lot of
support. In both, the son or daughter wants to somehow leave, and in both, the father
indulges and is hurt by it, but encourages it as well. The fathers must let go of their
son or daughter to find their own way in the world, even against their own better

After the hero leaves the separation stage, they enter the initiation stage where they
may act a certain way, struggle through certain situations, or even do something
significant in order to be accepted into an unknown world. Two of the stages

the hero finally crosses the threshold between the world he is familiar with and the
world he is not yet familiar with. It may be leaving their home for the first time or
doing something they have always been scared to do. This action signifies the Hero s

The Importance Of The American Revolution, A Moment

Essay: The American Revolution is a moment in history that cannot be ignored or
altered. The Revolution is a significant moment in history that is known by almost
all citizens of the United States. While the historical event ended in a victory, the
journey towards the victory was not an easy road. Many hardships had to be
overcome to get the success of the American Revolution that everyone knows. Most
do not recognize that the freedom and liberty America is so famous for getting was
not always the clear result. Joseph Ellis acknowledged this tackle of a liberty when
writing, No event in American history which was so improbable at the time has
seemed so inevitable in retrospect (Ellis, p. 3). For generations now, American s have
learned the same story which lead to the freedom of America; from the Boston Tea
Party, then Paul Revere, then the Battle of Lexington, and finally the siege of
Yorktown. The details that were not promising are not included in the history that
most American s can recite. It is important to recognize the struggles that had to be
taken head on in order to gain freedom. And even after freedom, the nationality and
nationhood of the new American people was not an easy grasp. Ellis explains the
journey to nationality and national pride as, The first founding declared American
independence; the second, American nationhood (Ellis, p. 9). The journey to the
American Pride and American Independence that is so famous now did not occur

every crewmember except Ishmael. Ahab has a personal conflict that affects not
only him but also his entire crew. Long before the Pequod, the legendary whale

The Pyramid Of Djoser Complex And The Colosseum
The two works of art that I will be talking about are The Pyramid of Djoser
complex and The Colosseum. The subject that these two works of art share is
architecture. The Pyramid of Djoser complex was created by Imhotep who was the
vizier of Pharaoh Djoser. It was built during the 27th century BC for the burial of
Pharaoh Djoser. The medium used to make The Pyramid of Djosercomplex is stone.
The Roman Colosseumwas created under emperor Vespasianand was completed
under his successor and heir Titus. The art style for The Pyramid of Djoser
complex is an Egyptian kind of style. Construction for the Colosseum began in AD
72 and was completed in AD 80 under Titus. The medium that was used to create
the colosseum was concrete, stone and sand. The art style for the Colosseum is a
Roman kind of Style. In this essay I will be comparing The Pyramid of Djoser
complex and The Roman Colosseum and explain why The Roman Colosseum is a
much better work of art than The Pyramid of Djoser complex. The Pyramid of
Djoser complex was built in honor of the Pharaoh Djoser by his vizier named
Imhotep. This pyramid was the burial of the pharaoh and was the central feature of
a vast mortuary complex in a gigantic courtyard. This was surrounded by ceremonial
structures and a lot of decoration. It was the first Egyptian Pyramid that consisted of
six mastabas that were built atop one another in what were revisions and

The Louisiana Territory And How It Changed America
Forever
The American landscape has always been that of great majestic glory. But this was
not always so. The westward expansion was not always in the cards for the
Americans. The French had mostly settled from the Mississippi River in the east to
the Rocky Mountains in the west and from the Gulf of Mexico in the south to the
Canadian border in the north. With the Louisiana Purchasethe U.S acquired most of
that land. How did this land help define the United Statesof America as a Nation?
This essay will discuss the actions leading up to the Acquirement of the Louisiana
territory and how it changed America forever.
In 1762 France ceded French Louisiana west of the Mississippi River to Spain. The
French also transferred almost all of its remaining North American holdings to
Britain in 1763. Spain was no longer a dominant country and they did little to
develop Louisiana during the next three decades in which they held it. Spain in 1796
allied itself with France causing Britain in a bold move to use its navy to cut off the
Spanish from reaching America.
The Spanish in 1801 signed in secret, a treaty with France to return Louisiana
Territory to France. This set off a series of concerns for the Americans. Americans
had been moving westward into the Ohio River and Tennessee River valley areas
since the 1780 s and the Port of New Orleans was a strategic port of entry as well as
the Mississippi River which was needed if the U.S was going to be able to ship good
through the Gulf of Mexico.
Intertextuality In The Book Of Genesis And Don Quixote
Moreover, such is Quinn s degradation (not only physical but also mental) that the
character does not recognize himself when he sees his reflection in the glass of a
shop window and he is incapable of remembering him as he used to be few months

himself. He thought that he had spotted a stranger in the mirror, and in that п¬Ѓrst

Nevertheless and in spite of this fragmentation of Quinn s identity, it is not until the
end of the novel, when he realizes he has lost his apartment, his home, than he gives
up any hopes of recovering his original identity, of returning to the old Quinn and he
ends up disintegrating, dying, and in consequence, failing to solve Stillman s case.

compared with Don Quixote, whose real name is Alonso Quijano and who is living
under the pseudonym of Don Quixote; so in here we could find a similarity between
these two characters, who have more than one identity and who share the initials of
their names DQ . Furthermore, another similarity that could be found between them
is that both of them have turned crazy because of the books they have read, in the
case of Don Quixote, or because of the books they have written, in the case of Daniel
Earlwood Summary
Earlwood Summary
Earlwood is an unspoiled, hidden gem of Sydney that embraces the Greek culture, but
is also a multicultural community. This suburb offers large blocks of land for
residential or commercial development, unlike most of the surrounding suburbs,
which makes it a rare commodity indeed. Inside the confines of Earlwood, you will
find a small shopping precinct, plentiful parks and playgrounds, rare bushlands, and a
beautiful cohesion of food, community, culture, trendy cafes, pizza bars, and natural
beauty wrapped up in a setting that brings the old and the new together. Earlwood is
often mistaken for being part of the Inner West, but the Cooks River, the natural
boundary around its outer limits, makes that classification incorrect.

Abstract Enzymes are very specific protein because they contain one active site on
their surface that enable the substrate to bind to the enzyme and form the enzyme
substrate complex and then release the products. The principal function of enzymes is
to increase the rate of the chemical reactions. Enzymes have a set of conditions at
which they work perfectly; this is known as optimal condition. Fungal and bacterial

Fungal Aspergillus oryzae and bacterial Bacillus licheniformis amylase are the two
types of enzymes that will be used during this lab to test the ability of amylase to
break down starch ,a polysaccharide present in our daily diet, into simpler sugars ,
maltose (Smith,et al,2012).
Bacterial amylase is found in different habits for example in human saliva, for this
reason is easy to infer that bacterial amylase would break down the starch better and
faster than the fungal amylase. According to this information amylase activity going
to change higher or lower according to the temperature but it will be faster in
bacterial than in fungal, 100% hydrolysis going to occur between 40В°c to 60В°c
because this is the habitat temperature for these species and this means that is the
optimal temperature, but in bacterial occur in less time than in fungal because are
found in human saliva were chemical digestion begins.
Methods The principal objective of this study was to determine how temperature
affects the activity of amylase enzyme and the optimal temperature for fungal and
bacterial amylase. In order to make this experiment possible we needed fungal
Aspergillus oryzae amylase and bacterial Bacillus licheniformis amylase; 5 ml of
1.5% starch were placed in one test tube
James Wooley s Argument Analysis
The United States has become the great liberator of the modern world, bringing the
western ideals of freedom and Democracy to many countries including South Korea,
Japan, and Iraq. However, should this same policy also be extended to China? Or
should the US pursue, as James Wooley calls it, a grand bargain where she subsides
any desire for the Democratization of China in exchange for China not challenging
the status quoin South East Asia. I believe, that such a grand bargain would maybe
not be ideal for the United States, as China would remain authoritarian and continue
to act as a shirker or even better a supporter of the current world order (Pu and
Schweller 2011), but either of which would be desirable. For, history has shown that

The current Status Quo is complete US political and military domination in the
South China Sea, United States dominated and dictated trade deals, and unipolarity

power, must challenge. Political soft power and influence, I believe is a zero sum
game, it is hard to argue that two powerful nations can have the same level of
influence in a third party country. Currently, it is the United States that holds the lions
share of political soft power dominance and influence in the South China Sea,
however as Chinese power grows it s safe to assume they will desire to possess
more friendly neighbors and work to shift regional loyalties from Washington to
Beijing; a projection America will certainly combat. A big portion of this play to shift
regional loyalties will be through trade and economic incentives. To do this China
would have to challenge another status quo, American economic dominance in the
South China Sea. Something China is already attempting to do through the AIIB,
RCEP, and FTAAP. These developments, in coalition with the failed TPP, and
Filipino President remarks against the US and for China shows that Chinese
economic and soft political power in the region is growing, whereas the United States

Boyle s Law And Scuba Diving Techniques
Even though there may be other laws that are just as important to know, Robert
Boyle created a law named Boyle s Law that has important relevancy to anyone
who is a scuba diver. Knowing the breakdown of how Boyle s law works allows for
safe practices and scuba diving techniques. Many instructors train, and make sure they
teach their students the law, to prevent life threatening circumstances. It is crucial to
know, who created the law for legibility, how the law works scientifically, and its
relationship to scuba diving.

Oppositely, if the gas decreases in size the molecules will subside and the pressure
will drop. (Hess, 2016) In order to understand this mathematically, and get the
approximate value, p (pressure) and v (volume) = the k (constant) this is shown as
PV=k and if comparing the same matter with different conditions the equation is
demonstrated as P1V1=P2V2. (Hess, 2016) This will give you an approximation in
numbers, if the volume, and or pressure, has either increased or decreased. Knowing
this has contributed to the understanding of how much oxygen to give and how the
body reacts while scuba diving
Scuba divers trained well on knowing Boyle s law, and how the body reacts while
underwater, could prevent possible life threatening circumstances. In any scuba
diving safety training, Boyle s law is used as a primary example of the
physiological reaction that the body will go through while underwater. A primary
example that most scuba divers are trained on in relation to Boyle s law is that a
balloon pushed underwater, for example, shrinks as its volume is compressed
(2014). Conversely, a balloon inflated underwater and released expands and may
burst as it rises and its volume expands (2014). At sea level the pressure is at 1 atm
(760mmHg), which is 14.7 pounds per square inch and because seawater is less
dense a diver is exposed to a much higher pressure (Meeraus, 2001). This means that
the lower the diver descends
What Is Expressiveness In Translation
III. Expressiveness
The principle of Da, also known as expressiveness, literally means that the translating
work should successfully and fluently convey the original meaning and cultural
context. A. Introduction to the Expressiveness
Xu Yuanchong considers that, translation is an art that the translator uses one language
form to convey the content another language form has expressed (Xu Yuanchong,
1984) (the author s translation). It is the solution to the contradiction between the
original content and the target form. The contradiction should be that the translator
uses expressive target form to deliver the original content faithfully. The process of
translating includes three parts: understanding the original, expressing in target
language, and perfecting the target. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To help the target reader fully understand the content of the original, the translator
needs to adapt expressive target form. What Xu Yuanchong means expressiveness
refers to expressive target form. When transforming from original language into
target language, the translator has to use the manner of writing accepted by the
target reader. Therefore, he has to greatly discard the original form. Yet, if we cannot
keep the artistic charm by doing so, or we can preserve the artistic charm without
doing so, then we should give up the form and keep the content, or discard the
original form and retain the artistic charm. We know that in translation process it is
impossible to get the translation absolutely authentic to the original, and loss of
information is often seen in
Cytoplasm Changes
Describe the changes that occur inside the cells as a result of alterations in the
amount of calcium in the cytoplasm. What effect will this have on the cells?
According to Huether and McCance (2012) ischemia is the most common cause of
hypoxia and is frequently caused by an ongoing narrowing of arteries
(arteriosclerosis) and a total obstruction caused by bloodclots, which is also called
thrombosis (p. 64). In Martin s case, a thrombus has been the cause of his cerebral
ischemic lesion.
As we have learned during our anatomy and physiology courses, our bodies produce
more adenosine triphosphate in the presence of oxygen. When oxygen is not restored
and the hypoxic injury continues, there is not enough ATP to remove the calcium
from the cytosol and the calcium pump fails, which causes an increase of cytosolic
calcium concentration (Huether McCance, 2012, p. 83). This accumulation of
calcium in the cytoplasm will trigger the activation of several enzyme systems
ВЁresulting in membrane damage, cytoskeleton disruption, DNA and chromatin
degradation, ATP depletion, and actual cell deathВЁ (Huether McCance, 2012, p. 65).
It is interesting to know that calcium ions are critical mediators of cell injury

The Patent Reform Act Of 1952
The Leahy Smith America Invents Act, passed on September 16, 2011, was the most
significant reform to the patent system in the United States since the Patent Act of
1952, which redefined the patentability of patent to include being nonobvious in
addition to new and useful (1). The demanding need for patentreform had been
discussed and debated frequently both within the literature focusing on patent trolls
and consistently in Congress with the introduction of many patent reform acts that
were never enacted: the Patent Reform Act of 2006 at the 109th Congress, the Patent
Reform Act of 2007 at the 110th Congress, and the Patent Reform Act of 2009 at the
111th Congress (2 5). The enactment of the America Invents Act in 2011 after the
failure of previous reform attempts signifies its importance in addressing the pressing
issues of the United States patent system. The America Invents Acts specifically
aimed to confront problems that were impeding innovation: the ever increasing
expense of the patent process, the exploitation of the patent system by patent trolls,
and the unnecessary complexity and inefficiency of the patent process as a whole.
Although the process of obtaining a patent patent prosecution of minimal complexity
costed on average approximately $10,000, the most expensive part of the patent
process was patent litigation the legal process for patent infringement(6). The average
cost of patent litigation for a patent case claiming $1 million to $25 million
Risks of Just in Time Inventory Systems Essay
The Risks of Being Just In Time
The following is a guest article written by Nick Koletic, an economics specialist at
UCLA. In addition to giving a brief background on Just In Time inventory system s
benefits, the article s main focus is the risks that JIT systems face.
Just In Time inventory (JIT) is part of a production system whereby a firm vastly
reduces inventory from its production processes so that utilization of production
inputs and delivery of finished products are accomplished without incurring
significant holding costs. While JIT inventory systems are quite attractive for this
reason, they are a double edged sword. And though a JIT system might even be a
necessity given the inventory demands of certain business types, ... Show more

Shipping the same quantity of a product to different retail outlets, for example, might
not make much sense if the demand for that good is significantly greater at one
location relative to another. This approach to delivery cost savings also facilitates
decreases in aforementioned holding costs by not overstocking certain locations with
a product. The same principle holds for inputs in production; parts are not delivered
and held at production centers where they might lay idle.
Some positive externalities may also result from a firm s decision to implement a
JIT system. Suppliers of such a firm, for example, might then be able handle larger
orders but fulfill them with smaller shipments. That is to say that for any given
order size, supplying a customer that utilizes JIT is typically easier to do because
individual shipments tend to be smaller for these customers and thus tend to be less
demanding of the supplier. So it might be possible for suppliers, merely by the nature
of their customers JIT system, to greatly expand their ability to fill larger orders
without having to increase production capacity.
Several factors, however, make JIT systems a risky proposition. A key concern here
is the extent to which firms are dependent upon particular suppliers under such an
inventory system. For example, if a firm were to commission a highly proprietary
product to a single supplier (single suppliers being common in JIT), a JIT
The Experimental Results And Test Parameters
The experimental results depend on a combination of test parameters, structural
parameters and materials parameters. For the complete stress strain curve, the test
parameters are difficult to be separated from the material and structural parameters.
The softening behavior of concrete, as found in laboratory tests, depends strongly on
structural aspects such as specimen dimensions, boundary conditions and feed back
signal. And it also depends on test parameters such as testing machine characteristics,
friction restraint between loading plates, allowable rotations of loading plates before
and during the test and loading rates as well as on the concretecomposition. Uniaxial
compression tests on cubes and cylinders, with different heights, have shown that a
stress strain curve of concrete is not a material property but a mix of structural and
material behavior.
4.2.5. Tensile splitting strength and modulus of rupture:
The test is carried out for three foam balls lightweight concrete cubes specimens of
size 150 x150 x 150 mm for tensile splitting strength. The Universal testing machine is
used for the test. This test refers to the split cube test, indirectly measures the
concrete tensile strength. It is done by applied a compression the cube through a line
load along its length. Tensile strength is considered one of the important basic
properties of the concrete. Concrete is not usually expected to desinged resisting the
direct tension. That is because of its brittle nature and

Earlier in the story, Herbert makes it clear that Kroudar s emotions allow him to
place all his trust on Honida. When discussing the other women s concerns about the
health of Kroudar s children, the speaker states that, as long as Honida did not worry,
Kroudar remained calm (Herbert 4). Kroudar is able to blindly trust Honida because
of the closeness between them.
The fact that Honida had reached down into the Labor pool and picked Kroudar
went against not only what was considered evolutionary reasonable but also what
was socially acceptable. The speaker makes this clear when he says, [t]here d been

to violate social norms to be with Kroudar. Furthermore, this lack of companionship
and camaraderie throughout the colony is one of the reasons why it is failing. The
speaker describes how life on Mother Earth used to be, stating that [e]ager hands
helped with the work onshore, spreading the nets, carrying the catch but not here
(Herbert 7). The lack of help and support by others illustrates the coldness that
permeates the colony and highlights one of the many qualities that it needs to prevail.
The importance of human emotion portrayed in Seed Stock is presented very
similarly in the film Gattaca. Vincent and Irene s
The Disguise And Trickery Dionysus In Euripides
This play written by Euripides has several little main ideas throughout but one of the
main ones that I am going to focus on is the disguise and trickery Dionysus is able to
perform to get what he wants. Throughout the play Dionysus never got the respect
that he felt that he deserved from the other gods. The reason that Dionysusreceived no
respect is because he is mortal; his mother who was a mortal gave birth to him by a
god, so in the world they are living in this makes him equal to the humans not the
gods. Because Dionysus was both Greek and Asiatic, along with being part god and
part human this made him a very diverse being. Dionysus soon realized though that
he could use this to his own advantage, he could easily be disguised as a
Willy Russell s Use Of Political Satire In Educating Rita

the illusion that educationwill set her free. Directly reflecting the society in 1985,
when the playis set, Russell through the use of political satire, and simple slapstick,
conveys the social division, gender inequality and stereotypes in this play.
Political satire is a significant part of comedy with the purpose of ridiculing social

According to many theorists such as Plato, who said that what we find amusing in
artifice (construct) is precisely that we despise in reality. By this he means that
we, as an audience, enjoy laughing at or mocking is why we hate in reality. This is
where Frank s alcoholism comes into play. Alcoholism is not a socially accepted
tendency, however, we find it funny because it is unacceptable behaviour. In
addition to this. Aristotle s theory of comedy backs this up, as he said we laugh at
inferior or ugly individual because we feel superior to them. This is why the
audience will accept Frank s alcoholism in a comedic manner because the feel
superior to him. Overall, equality is shown regardless, as Frank s drinking issue is
satirical, basically mocking the higher

Private Key Infrastructure Advantages And Disadvantages

Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) is a popular encryption and authentication approach
used by both small businesses and large enterprises for exchanging information based

The RSD for Europe/Middle East and
Africa confided in Roeder that a number of his field consultants had not even
bothered to respond to
Westerly s email because they thought her recommendations were so uninformed as
to be irrelevant.
Roeder reported this to Westerly, saying that their dismissing her email out of hand
troubled him even more than the loud complaints that Lin had reported and the
reactions Westerly herself had received (see Exhibit 2 for selected excerpts). It was
clear, Roeder added, that Westerly should have done much more pre work with the
RSDs and field consultants. In the meantime, he suggested that she stay cool and wait
to see what happens.
By late August, however, no discernible changes in call patterns had occurred
anywhere.
Westerly felt at that point that her efforts had amounted to a failed and feeble attempt
at change that had cost her heavily in terms of credibility within the organization and
with the RSDs and field consultants in particular.
Jess Westerly
An American who had lived with her family in Germany as a child, Westerly had a
longstanding love of the country and a respectable degree of fluency in the language.
She used her time in the
Kauflauf orientation program to polish her language skills by developing informal
relationships with colleagues, even though the program itself took place in English.
Perhaps because of this effort, she felt warmly accepted at headquarters despite her
double minority
Could Pearl Harbor Have Been Prevented
Yesterday, December seventh, 1941, a date which will live in infamy, the United
States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of
the Empire of Japan. We will gain the inevitable triumph, so help us God (Franklin
D. Roosevelt). Franklin D. Roosevelt said this during his speech on December 8,
1941, addressing the Pearl Harbor attack. During his speech he explains how the
United Statesof America will defend itself but will make it very certain that this
form of treachery shall never again endanger us. Furthermore says no matter how
long it takes to overcome this invasion, the American people will win through
absolute victory ( American Rhetoric ). On December 7, 1941, a total of 18 naval
vessels heavily damaged or destroyed, 188 planes destroyed, and over 2,000
servicemen killed. That Sunday morning, began as a normal day for millions of
Americans, but suddenly everything changed. As the news flashed from coast to
coast, the bombing of Pearl Harbor mushroomed into a natural disaster. People
could scarcely believe the reports pouring out of their radios. How could it have
happened? Who was to blame? What could be done to guard against surprise attacks
in the future? There were no easy answers, no quickly forged consensus ( Butow ).
Pearl Harbor could have been prevented if... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Personal Error was a major cause to Pearl Harbor, if the codebreakers were able to
break the codes, it might not have happened. Lack of regard was mostly on the
U.S. government for not investigating more on the Japanese Americans on the
Island at the time. Technology Deficiencies were another major cause to Pearl
Harbor, the Japanese developed newer weapons that the U.S. has not seen yet,
which gave them an advantage. By all record, if all of these issues would have been
taken care of sooner, Pearl Harbor could have been
Leaving High School Popular
Diagnostics Essay
Do you believe that popularity in high school will help you once you graduate? I
asked this question because today I am going to be discussing whether leaving high
school popular can affect you in a good or bad way. I personally believe that it does
not affect you, because you can be the the quarterback on the high school football
team and graduate to become a bagger boy at the local grocery store. This is the
main reason I believe this.
When a teen is in high school one of the most important things to them is there
popularity. Most students would rather be popular then keep their grades up. In my
opinion, this is just a waste of time. When you graduate from high school your
popularity will not help you with getting
The Iphone Of The Ipad
The iPhone is a cellphone that functions as a music player, camera, and mini
computer. The iPhone is one of the most popular phones in the world, but why is the
iPhone so popular in comparison to other cell phones that have the same capabilities
if not better? Can the iPhone brand actually give customers different psychological
and physiological feelings and emotions? The iPhones seductiveness brings about
many devoted consumers. iPhone starts its seduction by the brand name, color
choice, and by being up to date on all the latest technology. obtaining many devoted
customers
Lets start by breaking down the brand name itself, using the first letter in iPhone, I is

iPhones capability to give their consumers these abilities starts the beginning of the
loyalty between company and consumer, thus creating trust and respect. Trust and
respect is the perfect foundation for the creation of a devoted consumer. However
there are so many other cell phones to choose from that have better cameras, better
applications, better accessibility and more features to offer so why is the iPhone so
enticing to a consumer?
For the consumer who desires a new beginning, organization and simplicity, iPhone
helps guide these consumers to buy their phones by making them more enticing by
their color choice. When one is going to purchase an iPhone, Apple Inc. website is
white, their store is white, and even their logo is a white apple. A graphic designer
named Hearman Cenrrato researched colors and how we as people respond to
them. Cenrrato said, In color psychology white is the color of new beginnings,
wiping the slate clean, so to speak. It is the blank canvas waiting to be written upon.
While white isn t stimulating to the senses, it opens the way for the creation of
anything the mind can conceive. Physiologically, white is calming as it creates
simplicity, organization and efficiency out of chaos. It clears the way forward
(Cenrrato 15). What consumer would not want the feeling of a fresh start when
purchasing a cell phone? This is a feeling that most consumers seem to enjoy

Shakespeare s Presentation of Shylock in The Merchant of Venice
This essay is an analysis of how the character of Shylock, in the play The Merchant
of Venice , is presented to the audience, by Shakespeare, in different ways.
The riveting play shows the best and worst aspects of human nature and contains one
of Shakespeare s most reviled, complex and compelling characters. Love and romance
end this play, yet before that come bigotry, racism, hatred, death threats and money
especially the money. The dramatic courtroom scene and Shylock s cruel downfall
will challenge your heart and your sense of justice.

Well, firstly, he is a Jew living and working in Venice. Venice was a hostile, highly
materialistic, predominantly Christian society, in Shakespeare s time; people were
unlikely to have met a Jew that had not already converted to Christianity.
Secondly, he is a moneylender, who earned profit through usury. Usury was despised
of by all other moneylenders (who all seem to be Christian). Money lending was a
contentious issue and it was considered not fair or moral to loan money, expecting
the initial amount to be repaid with a large interest on top of it.
Thirdly, he is nearly always contradicting himself. He is always talking of how the
Christians all call him names and all around just spurn and dislike him, which is a
way of asking for some sympathy or mercy (because of the way he keeps going on
and on about it) from the audience, but in the end How shalt thou hope for mercy,
rendering none? One instance for him going on about how the Christians all hated
him is his speech, in Act III Scene I, which contains words of his bitterness and
desire for revenge.

The House On Mango Street Book Report
You would be so surprised to know that only one year has gone by in The House on
Mango street by Sandra Cisneros. The book starts with Esperanza just turning 13,
and then ending with her about to turn 14. As we know, a lot can happen in only
one years time, and it certainly did for Esperanza. She had grown and matured so
much just from the people and the things she surrounded herself with on Mango
Street. Although she hated Mango Street and wanted to live anywhere but there,
Mango street will always be apart of her. This goes along with the theme greatly
because Mango street made Esperanza who she is and she can never forget that.
Overall the theme in the book is never forgetting who you are and where you came
from. I think this because in
Why Should Students Carry Guns On Campus
Guns on College Campus Louisiana should not pass the law for students and
faculty members to have concealed weapons on college campuses. Our country and
especially New Orleans, Louisiana have major problems with gun violence.
Students and faculty bringing concealed weapons inside of a college building shall
remain illegal because that is putting others in danger. Mass shooting events on
college campuses are happening too often since 2007. Students are not allowed to
bring guns on college campuses building because they could put others in danger.
College campuses should not let anyone carry concealed weapons inside of the
building. It is illegal to carry guns on campuses for students and faculty members to
have on them, if they have license permits. Neither the students nor the faculty should
use guns because they bring violence on campuses and could kill someone. It is
unsafe for students to bring a guninside of the classroom on campus premises. A
student is unhappy with their grades that was being received from the teacher and
they get into an argument. The teacher was being unfair to the students about their
grades and assignments that led into altercation between them. The students were
misbehaving in the classroom because they were not following the instructions for
the assignment that the teacher gave them to do. Bringing guns inside of the
classroom is unsafe because someone can harm the faculty and other students.
However, a student and faculty get into an
Why Do I Have Kidney Stones Essay
Do I have kidney stones? This was the first thing out of my mouth when I saw my
doctor a few years ago. I had heard of kidney stones before, and I knew that my dad
had them once or twice.
Still, I didn t know what kidney stones were exactly, or the symptoms for them. For
all I knew, my kidneys were just littered with stones that could cause sudden pain at
any time.
My doctor calmed me down and explained a few things to me. After we were done,
I went straight to the library and checked out a few medical books. As soon as I got
home, I hit the books for the rest of the afternoon. Here s what I found out.
Symptoms
Let s get to the good stuff first. You may know what a kidney stoneis, but you don t
know the symptoms for it. Or you might know ... Show more content on

In fact, most of them can. But there are a few out there that you can t really protect
yourself from.
Luckily kidney stones are preventable.
There are a number of things you can do to protect yourself. There is a chance you
will still develop a stone, but your risk is much lower if you follow these tips.
First, drink at least 8 glasses of water each day. If you can, try to drink 10 or more.
There are a few reasons for this, but the main one is to keep flushing urine through
your kidneys. The more urine flow you have, the less likely a kidney stone will form.
Another good idea is to avoid eating too many animal products. Dairy products
particularly can increase your chances of developing a kidney stone. This is because
most kidney stones are made up of calcium, and dairy products have high amounts of
calcium.
Finally, talk to your doctor about going on a medical water fast. When you spend
time without ingesting solid food water, it gives your body s digestion system a
break. It can then divert energy to more important things, like flushing out any
calcium oxalate deposits in your kidneys. In other words, fasting can help your body
remove the kidney stone before it gets too
Wheeler Electrical Supplies, Inc.
Wheeler Electrical Supplies, Inc. is a C corporation that used to be owned by four
individuals. Because the business has been operating at a loss for the past several
years, three out of the four shareholders decided to sell their outstanding shares to
Angela Clay, the one shareholder convinced that becoming the sole owner herself
will allow her to run a profitable business again.
Ever since Angela has become the 100% owner of Wheeler she has concerns about
some possible negative goodwill that Wheeler might have. She is also worried that
the corporation might not be employing the best practice to dispose of hazardous
waste; she fears that a personal liability might arise from that practice. Also, Angela
does not like the idea of the Texas franchise tax that Wheeler is subject to. Because
of the above concerns Angela is contemplating the idea of liquidating the corporation
and reorganizing the business as a sole proprietorship.
Since the business does not have enough funds to continue paying its long term
financial obligations, as repayment of debt Angela has decided to exchange Wheeler
s accounts receivable for an $80,000 corporate note payable by the corporation. The
remaining assets will be distributed to Angela and she will assume personal liability
for the other accounts payable. Furthermore, Wheeler will distribute the real property
to Angela who will assume personal liability for the repayment of the mortgage.
Wheeler expects to generate a $50,000 loss through July 31.

  • 2. The Benefitions Of Hard Work In My Life As a young child, my Mother always would tell me; If you want something work hard for it. It s that simple. That saying was constantly being stated around the house when my brother or I would want to achieve a certain goal in school, sports or anything. This saying has transformed me over the years into the hard worker that I am to this day. Throughout my life coaches, family, and teachers regularly told me to work hard and give 100% effort no matter what and I will succeed. The characteristic of hard working and constantly giving outstanding effort describes me as a person immensely because I consistently strive to achieve my goals. Ever since the age of ten, my Mother told me do chores if I wanted extra money in order to buy anything my little ten year old heart desired. She composed a chore list and pinned it to the fridge for me to earn a little money, but only if I did the task the best I could. Although somehow my Mother can always tell when my brother or I aren t giving our full potential. How? I am still unsure to this day, but we never wanted the repercussions that came if one of us got caught slacking. Despite giving 100% effort and completing the chores the best I could for money seemed great, I happened to have what seemed to be a mile long chore list. Overtime out of all my chores, I realized that my main income from ages ten to fourteen involved scooping up the dog poop in our backyard for a dollar per pile. Despite the gross appeal, picked up the dog s poop happened to become a steady income rapidly. Everyday after school I made sure the yard was spotless so I could earn my money. As years went on, I stopped getting paid to do household chores and they quickly became an expectation since I live there. With no longer getting paid to do chores I would soon have to get a job. Eventually I got a job, it was this past summer, I helped bail hay for my uncle and helping out on his farm when needed. I made sure I was constantly giving a 100% effort to get that job done because that s what my Mother taught me to do. Since I was consistently hard working, he knew he could rely on me. Although a household chore and a real job may seem different, I feel that I should work hard on any chore or job no

Robert Pirsig s Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance: An Inquiry into Values Confronting crises of technological annihilation and personal madness, Robert Pirsig finds each to be a manifestation of a deeper crisis of Reason. In response) he suggests an alternative to our current paradigm of rationality, the art of motorcycle maintenance. By showing that our understanding and performance derive from our emotional and evaluative commitments, he challenges the cultural commonplace which construes subjective states as distortions of objective reality. In so doing, he asserts that wholeness or sanity may be achieved only through passionate caring, and an awareness and acceptance of how our emotions and values shape our ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Yet whereas we are never left alone by our technology, we are increasingly lonely, alienated from our deepest selves. For we have lost touch with our own feelings, being educated to ignore them in order to function in a technological world. Like Bergman s intellectual illiterates, we are so uneducated about our inner feelings that we only learn to talk about them when we break down, and have to be repaired by the analyst, at the Group, or in the asylum. For, we learn, our feelings distort our objective perceptions, and thus prevent us from functioning like our machines. In this vein, Andy Warhol wryly recalls that he had always wanted to be like a machine, for then it was easier to get along with people. We thus find ourselves fragmented, our feelings alienated from our world, our lives as well as our literature being characterizable by T. S. Eliot s phrase, dissociation of sensibility. Parallel to this public, cultural crisis of technologically induced fragmentation, Pirsig faces his own personal crisis of fragmentation or madness. Some years earlier he had been declared clinically insane, and underwent electro shock therapy to annihilate his mad personality. This earlier self, whom he now calls Phaedrus, had gone mad as a result of a search for Truth which led him ultimately to repudiate Reason itself.[1] Pursuing the ghost of reason through

India Pakistan Negotiation is Best in the Interest of Pakistan The ongoing rivalry and military grievances between India and Pakistan have compelled both the countries to invest a considerable amount of their resources into defense which could be better utilized in initiating development projects. Decades of internal political disputes and low levels of foreign investment have led to slow growth and underdevelopment in Pakistan. Agriculture accounts for more than one fifth of output and two fifths of employment. India deprived Pakistan of this right by claiming Kashmir to be a part of India s territory. India is adamant on maintaining that Jammu and Kashmir are its integral part. In 1947, India and Pakistan had war over Kashmir. During the war, it was India which first took the Kashmir dispute to the United Nations on 1st January 1948 and in the following year on 1stJanuary 1949, the UN enforced ceasefire between the two countries (Pakistan Mission To United Nations).Sixty six years have passed since then and throughout the period Kashmiris have given a lot of sacrifices. Pakistan s government and leadership today seem eager to find a solution to the issue with India. Since 1953, more than 150 sessions of talks have been held in vain The Kashmir issue has remained unresolved till date with people having multiple views regarding the ownership of Kashmir. Both India and Pakistan wish to make Kashmir a part of their territory because Kashmir has so many valuable resources such as natural gas and gypsum (Encyclopedia Britannica),so both countries want to achieve a competitive edge over the other. In addition to this, the identified potential of Hydro electric power is enough to provide the full existing energy requirements of Pakistan and half of India which enhances the value of Kashmir for both the nations ( Hydro Electric powers Jammu

This can be achieved by drawing on the necessary theoretical background of criminal offending and how our court systems deal with convicted criminals. However before concluding on the outcomes of courts, it is essential and appropriate to gain a wealthier understanding of social and environmental influences on these offenders, as well as to explore the many core theories that undoubtedly contribute to the pre dispositions and prior characteristics of a person s deviant offending nature. In the process of a youth offender being charged and sentenced through the youth justice system, sentencing structure should be based around the reintegration and rehabilitation of the person. Key features that are already in use or under review in the youth justice system in Australia take place in the form of diversionary programmes such as cautioning, family or community therapy and the likes of these programmes. Cautioning among youth is effective as per their age level, they are subject to a second chance and are made aware of the consequences of continuing or engaging in the commission of a new offence. This acts as a promoter for encouragement of good behaviour and works with the key structures of opportunistic theory. When the participating youth is within the bounds of the immediate situation they have the choice of withdrawing from that opportunity . Family and community therapy are also another key feature of this justice system as it incorporates key criteria that aims to decrease the acceptance and introduction

  • 9. Learning And Mastery Based Learning Wendy Trusty EDU 502 WA 1 May 1, 2015 Nondirective Learning and Mastery Based Learning There are many learning models available for teachers to use to ensure that students grow as learners and master content in a timely progression. Nondirective learning and mastery based learning are two models that are frequently used by teachers to deliver instruction and assess student performance. Nondirective learning is a teaching method from the personal family model of learning; while, mastery learning is part of the behavioral systems family. Both learning methods offer advantages and disadvantages for the teacher and student. It is the teacher s responsibility to research different learning methods and determine which method, or methods will... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Goals of nondirective learning include: helping students to understand their own needs and values, encouraging empathetic communication, developing emotionally, and becoming more self aware. Nondirective learning is considered a student centered model for instruction. Students are responsible for their own decisions about learning and provided choices during the learning process (Siddiqui, 2013). Mastery learning is based on the work of Benjamin S. Bloom who suggested that although students vary widely in their learning rates and modalities, if teachers could provide the necessary time and appropriate learning conditions, nearly all students could reach a high level of achievement (Gusky, 2010). In mastery learning, students should be given adequate time to demonstrate mastery or complete remedial work. Teachers are responsible for creating units of instruction that directly relate to defined learning objectives. Students move onto the next set of objectives after demonstrating mastery (Huitt, 1996). In order to determine if students have mastered the given learning objectives, teachers monitor student progress through the use of formative assessments throughout the unit of instruction and administer summative assessments at the end of the unit. Formative assessment data is used by the teacher to identify what students have learned well, and what remediation is required. After analyzing the data, teachers use corrective instruction in the form

The film To Kill a Mockingbird is an extraordinary illustration of the Southern United States stereotypical racial injustice that were exist in the American history. The main highlights of the film is the innocent black man was falsely accused of raping a white girl. There were many social psychological theories and phenomenon were found such as mass delusion, confirmation bias, self serving bias, conformity, group influence, traditional gender roles throughout the movie. By providing strong evidences from the film there paper will discuss these social psychological concepts in detail. An important psychological concept named mass delusion is observed in the film. A mass delusion is when a large group of people all hold the same false belief. In the film, all the whites hold false belief about the blacks. The white folks typically sees the blacks as criminals, rapist etc. That is why when the black guy Tom Robinson is accused of raping a white girl, none of the white folks tried to find out the actual truth. They totally believed that the black guy was the rapist. However, the defendant lawyer Atticus believed that Tom did not commit the crime. In spite of being a white man, he decides to take Tom s case and get justice for him. Confirmation bias is noticed in the movie among the white folks. Confirmation bias is the tendency to search for information that confirms one s preconceptions. The whites had the wrong perceptions of blacks for many years. Therefore, all the
  • 12. The Theory Of Mind Mechanism ( Tomm ) Though many of us may not realize it, humans have a remarkable set of abilities that allows us to understand, empathize with, and predict others thoughts and feelings. In other words, the average person is able to put himself in another s shoes. In our daily lives we tend to take this skill for granted. It is only when something goes wrong that we realize how important it actually is. For autistic individuals, this mindreading deficit is all too real. In fact, an inability to engage in this type of understanding of other s mental states is often taken as the hallmark sign of autism. Mindreading is defined as the ability to make sense of other people and to coordinate our behavior with theirs (Bermudez, 354). Many cognitive scientists believe the theory of mindmechanism (TOMM) is important to mindreading. These scientists contend that autistic individuals suffer from an impairment to this theory of mind module. However, others have argued that theory of mind, which is the ability to form beliefs about the mental states of others , is not a modular ability, but instead the result of the interaction of many different cognitive skills. In their paper Generous or Parsimonious Cognitive Architecture? Cognitive Neuroscience and Theory of Mind, Philip Gerrans and Valerie E. Stone take this view of theory of mind. I will review this paper and its arguments, then address the response to Gerrans and Stone made by Carl Hildebrand. Gerrans s and Stone s argument consists of

Dubai is setting the example for many cities around the globe. The reason why Dubaiis now focusing on tourism instead of oil is because the supply of oil is depleting, and soon enough the oil will be gone and Dubai will be left with nothing to support its economy. This article focuses on the Gompers, Ishii, and Metrick (GIM, 2003) study which found that strong shareholder rights lead to higher stock price returns and thus value. This is a great indicator that good governance has a direct effect on the performance of the firm. The article finds that corporate governance has a positive impact on the firm / management/ shareholders. However good governance is not always the correct metric of evaluation for firms and boards. The primary finding of the article is from an economic analysis defending the relation between corporate governance and performance. This article examines the relationships among corporate governance / corporate performance / capital structure / and corporate ownership structure. Many of the past studies have taken into consideration only one measure of governance, while this study focused on seven different governance measures. The article also looks at the performance of a firm and the relationship it has with management turnover or disciplinary actions required. 2. This article examines Swiss companies in relation to how board size affects the value of a firm. The study did not find significant correlation between board size having a negative impact on firm value or profitability; this is contrary to many previous studies ( e.g. Yermack, 1996). This article argues against the findings of Jensen (1993) and Lipton and Lorsch (1992), which stated that larger boards have a negative effect on firm value; in fact

The theme father son relationship comes to play a role in the beginning of Siddhartha and All the Light We Cannot See as Siddhartha and Marie Laure are looking for adventure and their relationships with their fathers are shown strongly with a lot of support. In both, the son or daughter wants to somehow leave, and in both, the father indulges and is hurt by it, but encourages it as well. The fathers must let go of their son or daughter to find their own way in the world, even against their own better judgement. After the hero leaves the separation stage, they enter the initiation stage where they may act a certain way, struggle through certain situations, or even do something significant in order to be accepted into an unknown world. Two of the stages presented within initiation is crossing the threshold and belly of the whale, where the hero finally crosses the threshold between the world he is familiar with and the world he is not yet familiar with. It may be leaving their home for the first time or doing something they have always been scared to do. This action signifies the Hero s commitment to his journey and
  • 17. The Importance Of The American Revolution, A Moment In... Essay: The American Revolution is a moment in history that cannot be ignored or altered. The Revolution is a significant moment in history that is known by almost all citizens of the United States. While the historical event ended in a victory, the journey towards the victory was not an easy road. Many hardships had to be overcome to get the success of the American Revolution that everyone knows. Most do not recognize that the freedom and liberty America is so famous for getting was not always the clear result. Joseph Ellis acknowledged this tackle of a liberty when writing, No event in American history which was so improbable at the time has seemed so inevitable in retrospect (Ellis, p. 3). For generations now, American s have learned the same story which lead to the freedom of America; from the Boston Tea Party, then Paul Revere, then the Battle of Lexington, and finally the siege of Yorktown. The details that were not promising are not included in the history that most American s can recite. It is important to recognize the struggles that had to be taken head on in order to gain freedom. And even after freedom, the nationality and nationhood of the new American people was not an easy grasp. Ellis explains the journey to nationality and national pride as, The first founding declared American independence; the second, American nationhood (Ellis, p. 9). The journey to the American Pride and American Independence that is so famous now did not occur simultaneously, as

One of these missing boats contains the son of Captain Gardiner and this is why he was so urgent when asking Ahab for his help. The subject that these two works of art share is architecture. The Pyramid of Djoser complex was created by Imhotep who was the vizier of Pharaoh Djoser. • 22. The Louisiana Territory And How It Changed America Forever The American landscape has always been that of great majestic glory. But this was not always so. The westward expansion was not always in the cards for the Americans. The French had mostly settled from the Mississippi River in the east to the Rocky Mountains in the west and from the Gulf of Mexico in the south to the Canadian border in the north. With the Louisiana Purchasethe U.S acquired most of that land. How did this land help define the United Statesof America as a Nation? This essay will discuss the actions leading up to the Acquirement of the Louisiana territory and how it changed America forever. In 1762 France ceded French Louisiana west of the Mississippi River to Spain. The French also transferred almost all of its remaining North American holdings to Britain in 1763. Spain was no longer a dominant country and they did little to develop Louisiana during the next three decades in which they held it. Spain in 1796 allied itself with France causing Britain in a bold move to use its navy to cut off the Spanish from reaching America. The Spanish in 1801 signed in secret, a treaty with France to return Louisiana Territory to France. This set off a series of concerns for the Americans. Americans had been moving westward into the Ohio River and Tennessee River valley areas since the 1780 s and the Port of New Orleans was a strategic port of entry as well as the Mississippi River which was needed if the U.S was going to be able to ship good through the Gulf of Mexico.

Bacterial amylase is found in different habits for example in human saliva, for this reason is easy to infer that bacterial amylase would break down the starch better and faster than the fungal amylase. According to this information amylase activity going to change higher or lower according to the temperature but it will be faster in bacterial than in fungal, 100% hydrolysis going to occur between 40В°c to 60В°c because this is the habitat temperature for these species and this means that is the optimal temperature, but in bacterial occur in less time than in fungal because are found in human saliva were chemical digestion begins. Yet, if we cannot keep the artistic charm by doing so, or we can preserve the artistic charm without doing so, then we should give up the form and keep the content, or discard the original form and retain the artistic charm. According to Huether and McCance (2012) ischemia is the most common cause of hypoxia and is frequently caused by an ongoing narrowing of arteries (arteriosclerosis) and a total obstruction caused by bloodclots, which is also called thrombosis (p. 64). In Martin s case, a thrombus has been the cause of his cerebral ischemic lesion. As we have learned during our anatomy and physiology courses, our bodies produce more adenosine triphosphate in the presence of oxygen. When oxygen is not restored and the hypoxic injury continues, there is not enough ATP to remove the calcium from the cytosol and the calcium pump fails, which causes an increase of cytosolic calcium concentration (Huether McCance, 2012, p. 83). The Patent Reform Act Of 1952 The Leahy Smith America Invents Act, passed on September 16, 2011, was the most significant reform to the patent system in the United States since the Patent Act of 1952, which redefined the patentability of patent to include being nonobvious in addition to new and useful (1). The demanding need for patentreform had been discussed and debated frequently both within the literature focusing on patent trolls and consistently in Congress with the introduction of many patent reform acts that were never enacted: the Patent Reform Act of 2006 at the 109th Congress, the Patent Reform Act of 2007 at the 110th Congress, and the Patent Reform Act of 2009 at the 111th Congress (2 5). The enactment of the America Invents Act in 2011 after the failure of previous reform attempts signifies its importance in addressing the pressing issues of the United States patent system. The America Invents Acts specifically aimed to confront problems that were impeding innovation: the ever increasing expense of the patent process, the exploitation of the patent system by patent trolls, and the unnecessary complexity and inefficiency of the patent process as a whole. Although the process of obtaining a patent patent prosecution of minimal complexity costed on average approximately $10,000, the most expensive part of the patent process was patent litigation the legal process for patent infringement(6). In addition to giving a brief background on Just In Time inventory system s benefits, the article s main focus is the risks that JIT systems face. Just In Time inventory (JIT) is part of a production system whereby a firm vastly reduces inventory from its production processes so that utilization of production inputs and delivery of finished products are accomplished without incurring significant holding costs. While JIT inventory systems are quite attractive for this reason, they are a double edged sword. And though a JIT system might even be a necessity given the inventory demands of certain business types, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Shipping the same quantity of a product to different retail outlets, for example, might not make much sense if the demand for that good is significantly greater at one location relative to another. This approach to delivery cost savings also facilitates decreases in aforementioned holding costs by not overstocking certain locations with a product. The same principle holds for inputs in production; parts are not delivered and held at production centers where they might lay idle. Some positive externalities may also result from a firm s decision to implement a JIT system. Suppliers of such a firm, for example, might then be able handle larger orders but fulfill them with smaller shipments. That is to say that for any given order size, supplying a customer that utilizes JIT is typically easier to do because individual shipments tend to be smaller for these customers and thus tend to be less demanding of the supplier. So it might be possible for suppliers, merely by the nature of their customers JIT system, to greatly expand their ability to fill larger orders without having to increase production capacity. Several factors, however, make JIT systems a risky proposition. A key concern here is the extent to which firms are dependent upon particular suppliers under such an inventory system. For example, if a firm were to commission a highly proprietary product to a single supplier (single suppliers being common in JIT), a JIT

For the complete stress strain curve, the test parameters are difficult to be separated from the material and structural parameters. The softening behavior of concrete, as found in laboratory tests, depends strongly on structural aspects such as specimen dimensions, boundary conditions and feed back signal. And it also depends on test parameters such as testing machine characteristics, friction restraint between loading plates, allowable rotations of loading plates before and during the test and loading rates as well as on the concretecomposition. Uniaxial compression tests on cubes and cylinders, with different heights, have shown that a stress strain curve of concrete is not a material property but a mix of structural and material behavior. 4.2.5. Private Key Infrastructure Advantages And Disadvantages Q1: Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) is a popular encryption and authentication approach used by both small businesses and large enterprises for exchanging information based on, it make securely exchange data over networks such as the Internet and verify the identity of the other party. The foundation of a PKI is the certificate authority(CA), which issues digital certificates that authenticate the identity of organizations and individuals over a public system such as the Internet, and the certificates also used to sign messages, ensures messages are not been tampered. There are Components for the PKI or Public Key Infrastructure. Below there are the components and the explanation of it .. 1: Digital Certificates Digital certificates (public key certificates, ... Symmetric encrpytion is a two way algorithm because the mathematical algorithm is reversed when decrypting the message along with using the same secret key. Symmetric encryption is also known as private key encryption and secure key encryption. ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF SYMMETRIC encryption ADVANTAGES пЂЄпЂ A symmetric Encryption is faster. пЂЄпЂ In Symmetric Encryption, encrypted data can be transferred on the link even if there is a possibility that the data will be intercepted. Since there is no key transmiited with the data, the chances of data being decrypted are null. пЂЄпЂ A symmetric Encryption uses password authentication to prove the receiver s identity. пЂЄA system only which possesses the secret key can decrypt a message. DISADVANTAGES пЂЄпЂ Symmetric Encryption have a problem of key transportation. The secret key is to be transmitted to the receiving system before the actual message is to be transmitted. Introduction Since contemporary communication came into daily life, people always keep seeking unrestricted communication at all time. Mobile telecommunication satisfied people s demand with the first generation (1G) and the second generation (2G). In the wake of development in multimedia and internet, most of telecommunication mobile networks operators have offered the third generation (3G) to the customers to replace 2G over the past two years. The core technology of 4G is orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) which belongs to Multi Carrier Modulation (MCM). It divides assigned channel into orthogonal sub channels, modulating and transmitting on each sub channel of narrowband (AceГ±a 2005). 3.2 Telecommunication system structure 3G is based on cellular network (shown in Figure 1), the core network of 3G is developed from GSM MAP, AMPS and ANSI 41 which is the core network of GSM, the air interface and the corresponding system is backward 2G compatibility (Luo et al. 2003). As the 3G core network evolved from the 2G, it is not the optimal system that processing Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol (TCP / IP) packets. Meanwhile, it cannot handle data transmission with containing large images and information either. Therefore, a critical need is to create a new telecommunication network with the optimal transmission of TCP / IP data packet, it would be completely different from the 2G and 3G wireless network

GABARRO COLLEEN KAFTAN Jess Westerly at Kauflauf GmbH On November 21, 2011, after months of explaining, defending, and reshaping her stalled change initiative for sales call patterns at Kauflauf GmbH, Jess Westerly finally got approval from the director of sales, Klaus Kristoff, to try again. The RSD for Europe/Middle East and Africa confided in Roeder that a number of his field consultants had not even bothered to respond to Westerly s email because they thought her recommendations were so uninformed as to be irrelevant. Roeder reported this to Westerly, saying that their dismissing her email out of hand troubled him even more than the loud complaints that Lin had reported and the reactions Westerly herself had received (see Exhibit 2 for selected excerpts). It was clear, Roeder added, that Westerly should have done much more pre work with the RSDs and field consultants. In the meantime, he suggested that she stay cool and wait to see what happens. By late August, however, no discernible changes in call patterns had occurred anywhere. Westerly felt at that point that her efforts had amounted to a failed and feeble attempt at change that had cost her heavily in terms of credibility within the organization and with the RSDs and field consultants in particular. Jess Westerly An American who had lived with her family in Germany as a child, Westerly had a longstanding love of the country and a respectable degree of fluency in the language. She used her time in the Kauflauf orientation program to polish her language skills by developing informal relationships with colleagues, even though the program itself took place in English. Perhaps because of this effort, she felt warmly accepted at headquarters despite her double minority

That Sunday morning, began as a normal day for millions of Americans, but suddenly everything changed. As the news flashed from coast to coast, the bombing of Pearl Harbor mushroomed into a natural disaster. People could scarcely believe the reports pouring out of their radios. I asked this question because today I am going to be discussing whether leaving high school popular can affect you in a good or bad way. I personally believe that it does not affect you, because you can be the the quarterback on the high school football team and graduate to become a bagger boy at the local grocery store. This is the main reason I believe this. When a teen is in high school one of the most important things to them is there popularity. Most students would rather be popular then keep their grades up. In my opinion, this is just a waste of time. When you graduate from high school your popularity will not help you with getting

Money lending was a contentious issue and it was considered not fair or moral to loan money, expecting the initial amount to be repaid with a large interest on top of it. She had grown and matured so much just from the people and the things she surrounded herself with on Mango Street. Although she hated Mango Street and wanted to live anywhere but there, Mango street will always be apart of her. This goes along with the theme greatly because Mango street made Esperanza who she is and she can never forget that. Overall the theme in the book is never forgetting who you are and where you came from. I think this because in

There are a number of things you can do to protect yourself. There is a chance you will still develop a stone, but your risk is much lower if you follow these tips. First, drink at least 8 glasses of water each day. If you can, try to drink 10 or more. There are a few reasons for this, but the main one is to keep flushing urine through your kidneys. The more urine flow you have, the less likely a kidney stone will form. Another good idea is to avoid eating too many animal products. Dairy products particularly can increase your chances of developing a kidney stone. This is because most kidney stones are made up of calcium, and dairy products have high amounts of calcium. Finally, talk to your doctor about going on a medical water fast. When you spend time without ingesting solid food water, it gives your body s digestion system a break. It can then divert energy to more important things, like flushing out any calcium oxalate deposits in your kidneys. In other words, fasting can help your body remove the kidney stone before it gets too

Because the business has been operating at a loss for the past several years, three out of the four shareholders decided to sell their outstanding shares to Angela Clay, the one shareholder convinced that becoming the sole owner herself will allow her to run a profitable business again. Ever since Angela has become the 100% owner of Wheeler she has concerns about some possible negative goodwill that Wheeler might have. She is also worried that the corporation might not be employing the best practice to dispose of hazardous waste; she fears that a personal liability might arise from that practice. Also, Angela does not like the idea of the Texas franchise tax that Wheeler is subject to. Because of the above concerns Angela is contemplating the idea of liquidating the corporation and reorganizing the business as a sole proprietorship. Since the business does not have enough funds to continue paying its long term financial obligations, as repayment of debt Angela has decided to exchange Wheeler s accounts receivable for an $80,000 corporate note payable by the corporation. The remaining assets will be distributed to Angela and she will assume personal liability for the other accounts payable. Furthermore, Wheeler will distribute the real property to Angela who will assume personal liability for the repayment of the mortgage. Wheeler expects to generate a $50,000 loss through July 31.
