1. Abolish Death Penalty Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of abolishing the death penalty is a challenging endeavor that
requires a careful and nuanced approach. The subject is inherently sensitive and invokes strong
emotions on both sides of the argument. As a writer, you must navigate through a complex web
of ethical, moral, legal, and social considerations.
Firstly, you need to thoroughly research and understand the history and current status of the
death penalty. This includes exploring its origins, evolution, and the rationale behind its
implementation. Additionally, you should delve into the statistical data surrounding its
application, examining factors such as demographics, socio-economic influences, and potential
biases.
Crafting a compelling argument for the abolition of the death penalty requires a deep analysis of
the ethical implications involved. You'll need to explore concepts of human rights, justice, and
the potential for wrongful convictions. Incorporating relevant case studies and real-life examples
can strengthen your position and highlight the flaws in the current system.
However, it's crucial to acknowledge counterarguments and address them with well-reasoned
counterpoints. This demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of the topic and ensures your
essay is not one-sided. Engaging with opposing viewpoints strengthens your overall argument
and adds depth to your analysis.
The structure of your essay should be organized and logical, with a clear introduction, body
paragraphs, and a compelling conclusion. Each paragraph should build upon the previous one,
leading the reader through a thought-provoking journey that culminates in a persuasive and
memorable conclusion.
Finally, you must pay meticulous attention to your language and tone. As this topic involves
matters of life and death, maintaining a respectful and empathetic tone is crucial. Your goal is
not only to present a well-reasoned argument but also to engage your audience emotionally,
fostering a connection that encourages contemplation.
In conclusion, writing an essay on abolishing the death penalty is an intricate task that requires a
thorough understanding of the subject, a balanced presentation of arguments, and a compelling
narrative. It demands not only intellectual rigor but also empathy and sensitivity. For those

Counter terrorism Law
No one can deny that the word terrorism is hated to be heard. Terrorism is
commonly known as any action referring to violence against innocent citizens or
causing damages to a public or private property for political purposes. According to
Maria Keet, (Senior Lecturer with the Department of Computer Science, University
of Cape Town) Terrorismis resulted due to plenty of causes that made such a
phenomenon be a public concern. Separatism is probably the main reason of
arising of terrorism. The conflict between people is due to nationalism and racism
issues. This conflict arises with the existence of inequality, racism and political
opportunities. Other reason of arising of terrorism is poverty and social inequality.
Some statistics proved that 15% of the population consumes 85% of the resources
all over the world which made the other 85% of population fight for these resources
by any means. Last but not the least; Religion is one of the causes of terrorism
especially in Egypt. Terrorism became widely spread in the Egyptian streets after the
30th June revolution in 2013. After the sacking of the former president, who
belonged to a religious organization, his supporters decided to spread terrorism all
over the country until the former president gets back to his position as a president of
Arab Republic of Egypt. Since then, this terroristic organization performs a terroristic
operation which had many impacts on Egypt and Egyptians. Since June 2013,

The patient is experiencing a major illness or disease within their body. All patients
who qualify for this act are terminally ill and have six months or less to live. They

cause CNS depression which lowers the heart rate and respirations and increases
drowsiness causing sedation and then ultimately death.

with a soft food such as applesauce. The mix of medications include barbiturates,
chloral hydrate, and morphine which are compounded into a single dose
prescription to facilitate death. Premedication is required prior to taking this final
dose. The most common barbiturates are phenobarbital, pentobarbital or
secobarbital. Phenobarbital is the longest acting and is typically used for seizures.
Pentobarbital and secobarbital are used to sedate prior to surgery and are not as
long acting as phenobarbital. Barbiturates effect the central nervous system. They
are classified by their how long they take to effect and their duration of action.
Barbiturates increase GABA (gaba amino butyric acid) neurotransmissions in the
brain. The increase in GABA causes drowsiness. They are highly addictive, and
patients may become tolerant. The addiction is not an issue when a patient has
reached this stage and does not need to be a concern. More importantly, if they
have used them during the disease process as a sleep aid the patient may have built
a tolerance and would require a higher dosage to be effective. Barbiturates do not
provide pain relief, to provide pain relief a patient would need to reach a dose high
enough to cause a comatose state. Chloral hydrate is a sleep aid or tranquilizer prior

Balance...
The aim of this study is to investigate how managers understand and manage the
work family balance practices (WFBPs) and how undertaking these new practices
impact their dual level position (i.e. organisation and individual level) in the
organisation. To achieve this aim, this study will first explore the work family
relationship that has been broadly and conceptually defined by previous scholars
and different conceptual definitions were taken into account. The term used in this
study is Work Family Balance Practices (WFBPs) that will be used to refer to the
human resource practices and policies establish by organizations. Namely, these
available practices are able to implement amongst workers in the workplace.
Although the work life and family life are different, yet they are interconnected
(Clark, 2000). Thus, this study views various perspectives when conceptualizing the
work, family and work family balance following on from the earlier discussion.
This chapter is divided into seven sections. It starts with the definition of term Work
Family Balance Practices (WFBPs). It then looks at how this term has been
alternated and used in different ways. After this brief introduction, the second
section will briefly discuss the origin of work and family from a conceptual
background of the work family area related. The third section will continue to discuss
the understanding of terms of work and family from the conceptual background of
work and family area. The fourth section

7. Canvas Struggles
At the beginning of sixth grade there are different struggles for everybody, my
main struggle was technology. I didn t understand Powerschool, or TCSD Live,
and most of all I did not understand Canvas. Canvas confused me a lot, in class I
often got behind because I didn t know what the teacher was talking about. I
figured Canvas would always be hard and I would never understand. In my fifth
grade class, we never used computers, unless we were in computer class. I had been
on Canvas once before sixth grade and didn t understand it in the least bit, I never
thought I would need to use Canvas, (I was wrong.) I didn t know how to use
Powerschool, because I never used it in fifth grade. Also in fifth grade we never
typed on computers, it was a big deal if we did, and so I wasn t very good at typing
either. Also in fifth grade I didn t have an email, so it was very confusing for the
first part of sixth grade. In the beginning of sixth grade I was behind a... Show more

stupid when I realized that I wasn t the only one who didn t understand Canvas.
Also I had to be patient with the teacher. And finally I realized the teacher knew
that most of their students were struggling. Also if you are like me you are not
going to like being behind or accepting the fact that you don t understand
something, but trust me if you can just be patient with the teacher, you will get
there and Canvas will become easier. This worked for me and I hope that this will
work for you too. To be honest sixth grade will be hard at first. Some things you
can do to make it easier for you are, try not to get panicked if you are behind, I
know this is hard, but I know you can do it. Another thing that helps is to use your
relationships with teachers and friends to help you, it s not hard to ask a friend to
help you, they won t think you are stupid and neither will the
8. Nonfiction Text Book
In conclusion, I found this project to be somewhat difficult. I think this is mostly
due to the fact that I have never met Alex before and know relatively little about
him. This would include a more detailed list of his interests and the past books he
has read and his feedback on them. This made the book section process to be
challenging because we were instructed to find a book that was age appropriate, in
one of the four needed categories and that must have been selected and supported
by more than one reason or rationale. How I went about my book selection process
was I went to my local library and first narrowed down my search by deciding which
category the book was going to fall into, nonfiction, multicultural etc. Then I began to

It was extremely helpful that we already had experience selecting books that were
nonfiction, multicultural and graphic novels. Furthermore, our discussion about
how valuable graphic novels are for teaching young readers to form mental
pictures really influenced my decision to select a graphic novel for Alex. I think
that this is one of the most valuable things I learned in this course this semester.
Also, something I learned that helped me make my decisions was our lesson on
analyzing nonfiction books. I learned to look for nonfiction text features within in
the books, such as glossaries, indexes, pictures, captions, table of contents, words
that are bold or italicized, etc. This knowledge allowed me to scan the nonfiction
books that I selected to see if they contained enough of these elements to provide an
ample amount of information and resources for Alex to use. Some personal
connections that I made to Alex were that we both love pizza and action stories.
Based on this I thought that the books Italy and Xtreme Adventures: Storm Chasing
would be good books for Alex because I was interested in reading

I from that hour set to work a fresh, resolved to pioneer my way through every
difficulty. I toiled hard, and my success was proportionate to my efforts.

from place to place until she arrives at Thornfield and meets Mr. Rochester. She can

such as religion, love versus autonomy, social class in Jane Eyre.

17. A Report On The Car Travel
Introduction
Private vehicles are at the forefront of the growing epidemic regarding carbon
pollution and climate change. (Click) In Australia, cars accounted for 48% of
transport emissions in 2013 (Trends in transport greenhouse gas emissions, 2013).
However to combat this issue, many cities around the world have actively
discouraged the use of private motor vehicles when travelling in and around the city.
They aim to reduce the prevalence of cars through the promotion of bicycles, walking
and public transport. In Europe, two cities have successfully implemented strategies
and campaigns to increase the amount of bicycle travel in and around the cities
centre, these are Copenhagen and Houten. The aim of this presentation is to
investigate cities where car travel has been discouraged and hence decreased and if
and how these strategies can be adopted in Brisbane.
Brisbane
Brisbane is the third most populous city in Australia and capital of Queensland
accommodating over 2.3 million people, thus it serves as an excellent basis to
introduce a regime targeting at reduced carbon emissions through a decrease in car
use. In Brisbane it is evident that driving to work, school and for leisure activities is
the primary form of transport among adults. As evident by this map... Whilst many
people live in the inner suburbs, representation from the outer suburbs or Greater
Brisbane is high. With 64.2% people travelling by car, a campaign must be

18. Comparison of the Protagonists in Juno and Catcher in the
Rye
The main protagonists Juno and Holden of movie Juno and the book Catcher in
the Rye, have main thing in common, they have not yet accepted the fact they play
a role in society, communicating with the people around them, and with their
families. Where they differ is in the problems they face. Juno s main problem is
that she becomes pregnant at a young age which is considered to be a life
changing event by societal standards. The main source of Holden s problems
comes from result of the death of his little brother Allie who had Leukemia and his
inability to cope with it. Despite many differences that the main protagonists have,
it is true to say that both Juno and Holden go through times of struggle. Although it
is clear that the main characters struggle more than the average teenager, ultimately
both the novel and movie outlines what occurs to teenagers going through a phase
in their lives. Both Holden and Juno suffer through psychological struggles while
they try to figure out what they want in life. In both the movie and the book both
characters try to be as original as possible, however this leads to the characters
isolating themselves from society and the people around them. Holden tries to be
the most authentic person he can be while calling all the people that don t share his
ideals phonies . Holden tries to distance himself from people around him as he
wears his red hunting hat to prove that he is unique from society and above

Introduction
The primary object of sports is, of course, exercise, but sports have a far greater
impact on the wellbeing of many besides physical health. Introducing new
opportunities for youth, sports create unbreakable bonds, build athletes characters,
unite communities, and promote teamwork. Undoubtedly, sports can positively
impact many children of all ages. As children grow older and become more athletic,
parents and athletes may consider specializing in one sport to maximize the athlete s
chance of earning a scholarship for college; furthermore, almost every youth
athlete, myself included, dreams of becoming a professional athlete one day, so
they will do anything to achieve that goal. On the contrary, specializing in one
sport may have the opposite effect. Depriving themselves from diverse
environments, specialized athletes are excluded from valuable lessons that are
beneficial for sports and life. Specializing in one sport today is not merely playing
one season of a sport, but specialization is intensely concentrating on one sport year
round. For this reason, athletes should play multiple sports because focusing on one
sport all year does not produce the same benefits as playing multiple sports
throughout the year. Most athletes, including myself, would probably agree that they
love more than one sport, and if this is the case, then athletes should participate in
every sport they love. After all, the purpose of sports is not to earn money or to
become famous but to

21. Observation Paper On Addiction
Being on the outside of addiction We ve all heard of addicts but what really
qualifies an individual as an addict? Addiction is defined as the state of being
enslaved to a habit or practice or to something that is psychologically or physically
habit forming, as narcotics, to such an extent that its cessation causes severe trauma.
(Dictionary.com, 2002) Last Monday, I had the opportunity to observe an open
Alcoholics Anonymoussession at Calvary Chapel in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. Upon
arrival, there were two people already there. One lady appeared to be the facilitator
as she was seated at a table with sign in sheets and class material. I quickly
introduced myself and explained that I was there to observe as a class assignment.
She warmly welcomed me, handed me some reading material and offered me to sit
where I pleased. The room was located in the multipurpose room of the church.
There were no windows, just an assortment of chairs positioned in a circle for easy
discussion. While waiting for the others to trickle in, I was educated that the weekly
sessions were formed for addicts to discuss their journey of addiction, and to provide
and receive support for their decision to remain sober. The meeting opened with
group facilitator making everyone aware that I was a student observer that would be
observing for the night. I was asked to introduce myself and I also agreed to keep
their stories and names anonymous when writing this paper. It somewhat
22. Comparing The Revolutionary War And The Modern
Soldier
A Contrast of the Revolutionary War Soldier and the Modern Soldier.
The Revolutionary soldier and the modern soldier battled for similar reasons but
the resources available to them such as rations, uniforms and weapons were very
different indeed. As you can imagine, the resources in 1775 were much more
limited than that of today s interconnected networks which provide fast and
seemingly unlimited resources to the soldiers of the modern armed forces. During
the revolutionary war, the soldiers were not only battling the invading British
forces, but a limited supply stream due the infancy of the nation they were fighting
to protect. The modern soldier fights wars all across the world and can receive
supplies seemingly as easy as you or I could buy bread from the grocery store. The
revolutionary soldier had to battle a larger, more well supplied and better trained
British army with less than half the quantity of supplies and those of lesser quality
as well. American revolutionary soldiers, British soldiers, even the modern soldier
must rely on supplies and resources, if these are cut off, or wasted, it could spell
disaster for any army.
The American revolutionary army came in two forms, the continental army and the
militia. The continental army was trained regiments of soldiers from each state,
although North Carolina was asked to provide two regiments of soldiers, which
eventually turned into ten by the end of the war, they were called the North Carolina
Brigade and along

24. Opera Informative Speech
The name, opera, comes from the Italian language meaning work. The opera is
music and drama. Opera is something that many generations listen too because it is
a little over 400 years old. Opera is a visible as well as an audible art. Throughout
history, opera has reflected trends during the current time period when it is composed.
A feature that is unique in operaisn t the dramathough, it s the music. It is written for
several levels of the human voice. This helps express emotions. Today I am going
to tell you what opera is, the history of opera, and the different types of opera. What
is opera? Opera is a form of art, which joins singing, music, drama, signing, poetry,
and sometimes dance. In each work, opera combines expressiveness... Show more

They celebrated marriages and political visits. These entertainments mixed music and
dance with effects and extravagant costumes. The stories or themes were taken from
classical mythology, drawing parallels between the ruler and the mythological gods
or heroes.
Unlike other musical forms it did not evolve in relation to other music developments.
The Renaissance fascination with the ancient world of the Greeks and the Romans
created opera.
Later on in the years, people tried to introduce opera into England from France and
Italy. This wasn t very successful. Henry Purcell planned a semi opera. This was an
English form which combined singing and spoken dialogue. The English form of
opera contained elaborate costumes, effects, and dancing and music. This horrified
the French. They believed opera was supposed to be formal. One French traveller
described it as a Hotch Potch . English did not have all sung opera for 200 years
after. Drama became more popular and important.
What are the different types of opera? It takes a lot of time, people, and effort
before an opera can finally make its premiere. It may also take a lot of time trying
to find what opera you want to perform. There are six different types of operas;
comic, serious, semiseria, grand, and
25. Diction, Symbolism, And Imagery In Robinson s Richard
Cory
The Grass is Always Greener on the Other Side:
Diction, Symbolism and Imagery in Robinson s Richard Cory Oftentimes in poetry,
something that appears simple is, in fact, very complex upon deeper evaluation.
Edwin Arlington Robinson does exactly this in his poem, Richard Cory, by creating
an accessible poem that can then be picked apart to reveal a deeper meaning. Upon
first glance, the poem appears to be an interesting narrative about the idolization of a
rich aristocrat from the perspective of a poor commoner with whom he interacts.
However, upon closer evaluation, a different meaning can be discovered; the idea that
desirable situations often contain negative attributes that people are unaware of or
overlook. This is achieved through ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, the phrase fluttering pulses could mean the townspeople being
nervous in his present or could be seen as a symbol to represent romantic interests
(159). Another symbol appears in the line, He was a gentleman from sole to crown
(158). The word crown has two meanings in this usage (158). The most apparent
definition is that it is the top of his head; however, symbolically it is a reference to a
king. Thus, drawing this parallel emphasizes the status that Richard Cory holds within
their community. Using the word crown also leads to many inferences on the
speaker s opinion of Cory, without them actually having to be stated (158). The
stereotypical image of a king is that of someone who is regal, rich, kind, fair and
more, which is all indicated within that one word. A third symbol is the analogies
to meat and bread in the last stanza. In this the speaker is making a statement about
socioeconomic classes, but in a more eloquent way. Bread is a euphemism for
being poor, because it is all that they could afford to eat. The word bread also
references the Roman idea of panem et circenses, or bread and circuses. This
phrase indicates the idea that as long as the poor are fed and entertained, they will
remain in their impoverished state. The speaker curses the bread because that is all
that he can afford to eat, but does nothing more drastic, because he is not going
hungry and his situation could be much worse (159). Meanwhile, having the ability to
eat meat was a sign of status, because it meant you had enough money to buy more
expensive food. This comparison of bread and meat highlights the speaker s longing
for the things that he does not have, the meat, without appreciating the fact that at
least he can afford to eat bread. It also indicates that he is only thinking about Richard
Cory in the shallowest way possible, what he can buy, rather than who

Identity and the Way Individuals Shape Their Identities for Themselves
One of the central issues of psychology is identity and the way individuals shape
their identities for themselves. People live in different regions all around the globe
and are consequently exposed to a distinct type of culture, religion, education, family
values and media. These influences instill certain rigid values in people from birth,
which configures their self concept and the way they perceive other individuals in the
society they interact with.
In many Western societies, the importance of personal achievement and glory are

One group will consist of white Americans who were born and brought up in the
USA. The other group will comprise of international Asian students coming from
countries like Japan, Pakistan and India. It is hypothesized that the American group
will respond by stating more responses that describe their personal traits than the
International group will. It is further hypothesized that the International group will
respond predominantly by identifying themselves with their groups such as ethnicity,
religion and family, significantly more than Americans will.
Methods
Participants:
The majority of the forty participants (20 white Americans, 20 international Asians)
were randomly selected among the Amherst College students. The remainder of the
pool of participants extended to the international student community of the Smith and
Mount Holyoke Colleges. The participants were undergraduate students ranging from
freshmen through seniors, and included both men and women.
Procedure:
Twenty questionnaires were handed out to the Asian students at the Five College
International Students Association meeting in the Campus Center. The other twenty
questionnaires were distributed among the white Americans in the social dormitories
of Amherst College.
The participants were instructed to read the questionnaire carefully and respond with
five statements describing their identity.

A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens follows people in the countries of both
England and France in the years before the French Revolution. The book tells the
story of a love triangle between Charles Darnay, a French Aristocrat, married to
Lucie Manette and Sydney Carton, an alcoholic who is in love with Lucie and
always living in the shadow of Darnay. Lucie is a kind woman who takes her dad
into her home after he gets released by the Bastille. There is also a second plotline
that follows the beginnings of the Revolution, with the Defarges leading raids on the
Bastille. There are many contrasting characters in this book including Darnay and

See! cried Madame, pointing with knife. See the old villain bound with ropes.
That was well done to tie a bunch of grass upon his back. Ha ha! That was well
done. Let him eat it now! Madame put her knife under her arm, and clapped her
hands at the play. (Dickens 231) Just as Lucie is caring about her father and others
and nice to them, Madame Defarge is not. This shows her vengeful attitude and
cold, dark outlook on life. She does not even care what happens to the guy, she
shows no mercy ever. Madame Defarge is writing the names of people she thinks
should be killed for the revolution on her quilt she is knitting including Charles
Darnay. This is very unsympathetic to Darnay and everything going on in his life
and all the good he has done. He decided to not take the estate and the name as the
Marquis, which shows that he wants nothing to do with that life of abusing power,
but she does not care. Madame Defarge is also not even close to the typical
Victorian woman, she is not pretty or a calm housewife, she is a leader of Bastille
raids, and does unwomanly things in front of people Her knitting was before her, but
she had laid it down to pick her teeth with a toothpick. (Dickens 37) Most women in

BUDGETARY CONTROL AND VARIANCE ANALYSIS WHY COMPARE
ACTUAL AND BUDGET?
One of the objectives of budgeting is to provide a base against which actual
performance can be measured. This is only worth doing if action will be taken as a

In too many organizations the production of results compared to budget is seen as the
end of the process. If no action is taken on the basis of management accounts then
there is little point in producing them and even less point in wasting management
time discussing them.

The price of the raw material went up so we asked the factory to be careful about

Because sales volume was down we bought less and we lost our volume discount.

The director has used this shot to create suspense and tension. By focussing on the
sign it gives emphasis and meaning. This immediately gets the audience thinking
and creates deep effect because the audience is getting into the film and makes
them think and feel tension. In contrast Lurhmann uses a low angle shot to great
effect. He is focussing on the helicopter in the air, the effect this has shows the
audience that the prince; someone important is arriving therefore its as if we look
up to him, however this can make the audience feel small and vulnerable. The next
technique I will be focussing on is editing and shot transitions. In the first scene we
see the introduction on Romeo and Juliet with voices talking and background
music. Then a wipe out edit is used to introduce the Montague boys who are in
their car. The effect this has is that it reduces tension; because during the
introduction it was building up by continuous flicking shots, which created a sense
of tension, then it all stops and focuses on the Capulate boys which then reduces
the tension. As a result it also introduces comedy and creates a slightly more calm
effect. Another type of edit Lurhmann uses is a freeze frame. This is used on
several occasions, one of them being as the camera focuses on Capulates heel and
slowly moves up the body, where the freeze frame is focussed on Capulates face. This

lastly discredited through the present being with dialect. The past recipe appears
to neglect to clarify Hauser s case. There was no show of the exit from the give in.
We see from Hauser s case that being with dialect does not promise us flexibility.
Or maybe, Hauser step by step accumulated more doubt upon himself: the more he
talked, the more he picked up doubt. This activity and others cause disappointment
in Kaspar s volunteering instructors. He is unequipped for accommodating in
ordinary terms. He is later acquainted with the town s nobles at a bourgeoisie party
the plan is so odd for Kaspar that it smothers his capacity to be agreeable. This
scene, as with the very way of the film, is intensely
42. Informative Essay About Ice Hockey
Ice hockey is more than just a game. To be in ice hockey you need to be a family
not just a team. You need to work and train harder than everyone thinks. Especially
if you re an olympic player. You also need to focus on the team not just yourself
since it is a team sport. Hockey is judged and doubted, everyone assumes it is a lot
easier than it looks. You have to be skating as fast as you can on slippery ice on
thin blades, while you are wearing extra gear to protect you and holding a stick
focusing on getting a small puck into a net. You have to worry about other people
trying to get the puck and getting around the goalie. This is the story of ice hockey.
Ice hockey is a fast moving and exciting team sport. It is also the oldest ball game...

The things that throws many people of about them is that they are twins! You also
have to think about how not many sisters play on olympic teams together let alone
these twins, but it is easy enough seen when these twin sisters are headed off to
other countries to do what they love to do. These sisters will be at Pyeongchang
for the 2018 olympic games. Jocelyne states that, When we get the opportunity to
be on the ice together, there s a chemistry that just never goes away, also said by
Jocelyne, It s always there. So whenever we have an opportunity to have a couple
shifts together or if we re ever put on a unit or line together, it s always there. And we
ve pushed each other every day whether it s workouts, during on ice training, it s just
that accountability that we ve always had growing up. Another thing that is changing
is rules and how things are done from NHL to olympic teams and games.(http:/

In olympic hockey games, if you tie, you go into a ten minute playoff game. If you
are still tied after those ten minutes, you go into a sudden death shootout. If it is
still tied after three shootouts, the team then can pick their shooters. Olympic
hockey games allow 20 skaters and two goalies on each team. Also if a penalty is
called the coach gets to pick the player that shoots the shot. If you start a fight in
olympic ice hockey you will not just be
43. Purification Of Purification And Purification
When examining the purification data in Table 4, we can analyze the different
methods of purification of LDH and determine how effective each methods is in order
to ultimately purify LDH. Unfortunately, there are two different definitions of
purification: one is have a high end yield of the protein, while the other is having a
high end concentration without any contaminating proteins. Furthermore, in order to
achieve one type of purification, the other one has to be given up. The very first
purification step involved the 65% ammonium sulfate cut that resulted in a highest
proteinconcentration out of all the purification steps. The protein concentration
went up from 3.925mg/ml from the clarified homogenate to 28.11mg/ml, which is
resulted of the pelleting out of the LDH and reducing the volume from 114mL to
5.7mL. Furthermore, the 65% pellet cut was able to recovery 46% of the LDH,
while purifying it by 6.8 fold. Also, this step was able to remove 65% of the total
proteins, while retaining 35% of it. Due to the increased purity and 46% recovery of
LDH we can conclude that most of the removed total protein was non LDH,
contaminating protiens. Unfortunately, since this was only the first purification step,
the amount of comtaminating proteins is still fairly high as depicted in Figure 14,
where the 65% cut pellet contains several dark bands besides the one at 35kDa. The
second purification step involved the affinity chromatographycolumn that resulted in
a sharp decrease

45. Han Dynasty Essay
The Rise and Decline of Han China
The Han dynasty of China has been one of the longest and most prosperous of the
major dyansties with only a few minor interruptions. The Han dynasty is known for
its technological advancements, art, politics, and a competent bureaucratic
goverment system which led to its many years of flourishing vigor and imperial
structure. These accomplishments of the dynasty started with a peasant uprising and
an influencal ruler that refined the goverment and established a stable system which
eventually ended with internal conflicts and nomadic invasions.

With very able and trained offcials within the government, administration and other
tasks were done efficiently and superbly. The Han dynasty s imperial government
system was based off its predecessor, the Qin dynasty. A central control was
established, meaning the emperors had full power over China. In theory, the power of
the emperor was absolute and unlimited. The emperor is assisted with three
councilors of state, the Chancellor over the Masses, the Imperial Counselor and the
Grand Commandant. Each counselor had a main responsibility which was to draft
the government budget, conduct disciplinary procedures for government officials,
and to command the military, respectively. In addition to that, nine ministers, each
of them assigned to head a specialized ministry, watched over and trained the lower
ministry officials. This system made for a self perpetuating and stable government
system with specialized and well trained administration to carry out daily tasks of
the empire. Having an orderly government intensified the will to govern and live in
a refined existence. The Han dynasty relied on the use of princicples or tenets
(Confucius beliefs), which did not interfere with the citizens daily lives. This
permitted to a very stable and systematic means of bringing authority and
governance upon the people and society by giving every social class a role to
46. Bacterial Infection Vs Bacteria
There are many difference between a bacterial infection and a viral infection. One
of the bigger differences is that between a virus and bacteria is that an antibiotic
drug will kill bacteria but had no effect on viruses. Many illnesses that are viral
infections a couple of them being a sore throat, flu, cold and a runny noise. Although
bacterial infections illnesses by some bacteriais strep throat, whooping cough, and a
urinary tract infection. One of the bigger differences between viral infections, and
bacterial infections is that viral infections doesn t need medication and most of
these illnesses are like self limiting which means that the human body will fight to
kick in and try to fight off the illness, which this process usually takes some time.
However, with bacterial infections these types of illnesses require for an antibiotic
to be used. The type of antibiotics will be based on what type of infection it is. What
an antibiotic does it that it helps stop the growth of the bacteria or it tries to kill the
bacteria that s already in the human body.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Hitner (2005) the mechanism of action for a viral infection virus
typically live and they replicate the insides of the human body. They are able to insert
their genetic material into the human cells DNA for the virus to reproduce. However
bacterial infections have a different mechanism of action. According to Hitner (2005)
the agents (amphotericin B, ketoconazole, miconazole) these agents bind to the
membranes in the body. Which will produce the change in the cell permeability. In
addition, antibiotics they really don t have any targets in which to attack the virus.
However, in antiviral medications there are vaccines that are specific for
47. Examples Of Universal Truth In Into The Wild
Universal truths correspond with everything to do with life and everything else.
One universal truth that has a message that rings true, especially in today s world
is, a million people can believe a foolish thing, but it is still a foolish thing . This
universal truth can be taken a number of ways, the first is reading it literal going by
it word for word. Jon Krakauer, author of Into the Wild, wrote about this universal
truth, but in another understanding. His book used the truth in the sense that just
because everyone believes in something, it does not necessarily make it true. Into the
Wild includes examples of this universal truth by using anecdotes to portray how

It is clear once reading his journal entries from his travels leading up to his death,
that all he wanted to do was find himself. The only way he thought he could find
himself was to strip himself of everything in the modern world and fend for
himself in the wild. In his final journal entry he said, I HAVE HAD A HAPPY
LIFE AND THANK THE LORD. GOODBYE AND MAY GOD BLESS ALL. ,
this shows that he was content and had fulfilled his purpose. Many of his family
and friends speculated that he wanted to leave to get away from his family.
McCandless had said to his sister that he was going to, ...completely knock them
out of my life. I m going to divorce them as my parents once and for all... , which
makes it look like his reasoning for leaving was to leave his parents. But, it is also
mentioned that Chris had previously gone on trips to places such as the Mojave
Desert, and came back dehydrated and almost dead, but happier and prouder than
he had ever been in his life. This relates back to the universal truth by everyone
believed he was leaving to get away, but he was actually leaving in order to find
48. The Life and Work of Ernest Rughterford
All science is either physics or stamp collecting . Ernest Rutherford was born on
August 30th in 1871 with an umbilical hernia(that later killed him). He was the
fourth child of twelve and the second son of seven boys and five girls. He started
school when he was ten because his family was so poor. Later he got into good
schools and became a great teacher. He won multiple awards for his chemistry
experiments because he was the first person to artificially break an element. I chose
Ernest Rutherford because he found out lots of things about science and he is a very
interesting man. He found out that atoms are not independent; they are controlled by
something else, a nucleus. Also he split an atomin 1917 discovering that atoms are
made up of more than one part. The element Rutherfordium was named in his honor.
Since money was tight, Rutherford found good ways of overcoming his family s
money challenges, By making family friendly inventions. At the age of ten,
Rutherford was handed his first science book at Fox Hill School. It was a great
experience for Rutherford, that the book inspired his very first scientific experiment.
The young Rutherford built a miniature cannon, which, to his family s surprise,
unexpectedly exploded. After the result, Rutherford s interest in academics remained
weak.
When Ernest was growing up in New Zealand his family was very poor. His father,
James, was struggling to support the big family on a flax miller salary. He was also a

1. How do the Sons of Liberty explain Britain s motivations for passing the Tea Act
The British Empire was left heavily in debt by the Seven Years War and for the first
time, Parliament began looking at the colonies as a source to raise money from direct
taxes (Foner, Voices 86). During the late 1700 s, the colonists were constantly at odds
with the British government, who were attempting to gain greater oversight and
control. The Sons of Liberty, a group made up of different merchants and classes of
workers, were opposed to the many regulations and taxes levied on them by
Parliament. One of their main concerns was being taxed unfairly without
representation and they viewed this as a threat to their liberty. The Sons took the lead
in organizing resistance groups and enforcing boycott efforts to reject Parliament s
overreach (Foner, Voices 91).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Act was not intended to benefit the colonies in any way and it was met with
great resistance. The Tea Act served two purposes: to bail out the East India
Company financially by giving it a monopoly on tea sales and to assert Parliament
s authority over the colonists since they were not allowed to buy tea from any other
merchant. The East India Company was a private company, but played an important
role in the British economy. The obvious favoritism angered many of the colonial
tea merchants because they were unfairly cut out of the process and driven out of
business. Parliament gave the East India Company a series of rebates and tax
exemptions, which allowed them to deliver a large amount of low priced tea to the
colonies (Foner, Give 192). 2. What do they consider the relationship between

This is perfectly exemplified by the second portion of the films interlude, in which
a montage of Carl and Ellie s married life is portrayed, supplemented by Giacchino
s simple waltz. The waltz is originally upbeat and whimsical as scenes of Carl and
Ellie s cute married life flash by, including picnics, homemaking, and clouds that
inspire child birth. The tempo then slows and becomes depressing as the couple
goes through the pains of a miscarriage. Carl is able to cheer Ellie up by renewing
the prospect of adventure in their lives by bringing up Paradise Falls. The music
once again takes up an optimistic note as the couple saves their change in a glass
jar labeled Paradise Falls . Due to little accidents here and there the couple never
really accumulates much money. After displaying years of precious moments to
an upbeat tone, the waltz slows a little, as Carl realizes age taking its effects on
Ellie. Right before Carl is able to take Ellie on the trip they ve always dreamed of,
she is stricken with illness and hospitalized. The music becomes tremendously
slow and very moving as Ellie dies, leaving Carl a widow. This five minute clip
with the help of music elicits tears as efficiently as if a cloud of mace had been
released into the theater (Stevens). Many top critics feel that this scene rivals with
many other red carpet greats:
