Women of Nepal

Learning Route Rwanda - participants feedback
Delegations from 9 SUN Civil Society Alliances participated in a learning route in Rwanda from October 31st to November 5th, 2016. The learning route featured case studies of successful nutrition initiatives and methodological sessions to enhance the capacities of civil society alliances. Key learnings included setting up multi-stakeholder platforms at decentralized levels, using behavior change communication through media, and the commitment of the Rwandan government to nutrition. Participants developed innovation plans to apply new knowledge in their countries and established a regional call to action to coordinate nutrition plans, allocate resources, and ensure community engagement.
Feminist criticism final
Feminist criticism examines literature from a feminist perspective by analyzing the portrayal and treatment of women. It has two premises: 1) how women are presented by male authors from a male point of view and 2) how women are presented by female authors from a female point of view. Feminist criticism aims to understand gender inequality and promote women's rights. There are three waves of feminism - first wave focused on women's suffrage, second wave on social inequality, and third wave on diversity and intersectionality. Major feminist theorists discussed include Beauvoir, Showalter, Irigaray, Cixous, and Haraway.
Feminism

1.2. The Farmer Shops Business Model in Thailand
The Farmer Shop model was designed to address vulnerabilities of Thai farmers through an integrated supply chain management approach. It connects cooperatives, community enterprises, and SMEs to establish a value network. The model consists of 5 processes: 1) creating a supply chain network, 2) quality assurance, 3) supply chain management, 4) developing retail shops, and 5) brand creation. Initial results found the model reduced marketing costs for producers by 10% and increased mutual trust between consumers and producers.

The IFAD Knowledge and Learning Market in the Philippines
The IFAD Knowledge and Learning Market (KLM) Sharing in the Philippines is an annual two-day public event organized by IFAD that showcases IFAD projects and accomplishments. It consists of exhibits, workshops, testimonies and cultural performances. Now on its ninth year, the KLM serves as IFAD's central knowledge sharing activity in the Philippines and has evolved from a project showcase to a forum for policy advocacy. The first KLM was held in 2007 building on a knowledge sharing network established in 1987 with IFAD's first project in the Philippines. Through its editions, the KLM has increased visibility of IFAD operations and helped communities promote their work while facilitating networking among participants.

This document proposes an online project management platform to ease project management and reporting for IFAD-funded projects. The platform would provide web tools for project managers and teams, as well as storage for project documents, databases, and knowledge. It would be accessible to IFAD staff and link to IFAD rules and guidelines. The platform would build on existing field experiences and integrate project management with country programming, regional coordination, and IFAD globally. It would facilitate financial management, monitoring and evaluation, knowledge management, and communication through an electronic library and links between these functions.

Innovation Plan: Capacity building on business development plan for the rural poor women in the common interest groups (CIGs), Vietnam
- 1. Adaptation to Climate Change in Mekong Delta in Ben Tre province, Viet Nam Router(s) Names: Nguyen Thi Huong Giang, Tran Diem Thuy
- 2. CONCEPT NOTE Capacity building on business development plan for the rural poor women in the common interest groups (CIGs)
- 3. CONTEXT Many income generation activities and loans have been delivered to the rural areas but poor rural women seem hardly to know how to invest the money appropriately from these support, so limited results have been achieved.
- 4. GOAL To support women’s socio-economic empowerment in the CIGs in Ben Tre province through the common interest groups and better business activities.
- 5. OBJECTIVES • Build the capacity of women to set up their business to get higher income • Reinforce the role of CIGs and its activities for women members • Improve their business in next production.
- 6. ACTORS • Mass organizations at commune level (Women Union, Farmer’s Association, Youth Union), • The common interest groups (CIGs), • Commune Development Boards (CDBs), • Project Facilitators, • Government officiers at all levels and different donors. CIGs will play the key roles from setting up the proposals, submitting to CDBs for approval, implementation, M&E, and establishing new plans).
- 7. ACTIVITIES • Awareness campaigns through leaflets, loudspeakers, information corners. • Trainings (BDS plans, daily records, gender mainstreaming, technical skills, M&E). • Active proposals. • Pilot implementation. • Sharing meetings/workshops. • Upscaling/Replicating.
