2. INITIAL REACTION • What could you make?
I could make a snippet of
animated sequences that build up
into one big sequence, in other
words, create small animations
once at a time, with extreme
detail, and once they are all
complete, I put them together
into an overall timeline.
• What are you good at? Your
opinions?
In my opinion, I could say that I
am good at keeping animations
organized, as well as sticking to
the exact chronological order, I
other words, sticking to the plan.

Fantasy
Ally is running from the
negative forces that try to
infiltrate mental health
island and rule over. She
runs to collect autism
jigsaw pieces which push
back the negative forces
and save the island.
The main character of the
game is a small stereotypical
unicorn named Ally, who
represents the magic of
autism, and how it can have
a positive effect on
individual.
The aim of the game is to collect
all the jigsaw pieces and reach
the end of the level before the
forces catch you.
You have five lives, and
once you’ve used up all
lives, game over.
The main characters are
two avatar humans who
sail down a river in a
paddle boat in order to
reach the finish line on
time.
The aim of the game is
basically to reach the
finish line before the
time is up, a bit of a
challenger.
The timer increases
as your level goes up.
If you beat the timer, you can
get coins to upgrade the design
and speed of the boat.
The game is set in a VR view in the
form of a glider where you as the glider
pilot must catch all of the balloons
before the storm hits you.
The aim of the game is to collect all
of the balloons before the stormy
spitfires: a bunch of evil jet pilots
catch you.
You have 5 lives, if you use all your
lives up, it game over and the game
will stop. It’s up to you to get all of the
balloons in time.
If you do win, the rewards are
glider tokens, these will help
you to buy new designs and
strengths for your glider.
4. MIND MAP: ALLY DASH
Audience
Appeal
Information
within
Inspiration
Concept
The location where the
story takes place is an
island called mental
health island, where
there are animals
representing all mental
health live in harmony.
The story revolves around a
small enthusiastic unicorn
named Ally, she is kind and cute
all the same, she represents the
autism spectrum, which she
uses its power to spread the love
and happiness throughout the
island.
The game’s focus is to play as
Ally and gallop away from the
negative forces: the nemesis of
the island. As you gallop, you
collect autism jigsaw pieces as
coins so you can buy armors
and clothes to customize your
Ally.
The audience is the
age range of 16-19, as
in the modern times,
unicorns have become
something of an idol
to teenagers.
Trailer song
Unicorns have been
known throughout
the year 2018/19 to
have been an iconic
symbol for thos who
love fanatasy and
dreams.
The audience would
really like the game
because of the graphics
and the funky music
involved, as well as the
obstacles included.
The inspiration came
from the likes of
Banana Kong and
Temple Run, famous
endless runner games.
The inspiration for Ally came
from the stereotypical unicorn
as well as the autism
spectrum.
The island is
inspired by
the many
mental
health
issues that
we try to
help today
The
information
about autism
will be
incorporated
through the
colours within
Ally’s mane as
the symbol.
There will be other
mental heath issues
involved.
Other creatures will
represent the other
mental health
issues and their
colours will act as
symbols.
5. MOOD BOARD
The autism jigsaw will act as coins within
my concept, as well as SUPER pieces, the
SUPER pieces once you collect them all
together make a picture at the end which
gives you bonus pieces to add to your stash.
The clouds and the banana Kong layout will
all be drawn out in pixel art to and in high
detail. The clouds and the background are
only minor details, and will not have any
specific functions . The small unicorns will
acts as inspiration to Ally’s body structure,
she will only have a simple design because if
it was to complex, then it will be too hard to
animate. Finally, the pixel alphabet is key to
my game’s title and will help make it look
unique within pixel graphics. Overall, the
teens will love my concept because of the
graphics and soundtrack that I will
create(ed), I’m positive they will find it
interesting.
6. MOOD BOARD ANALYSIS
Is there any repetition in the images you have collected?
Repeated colours/images styles/fonts/tone/mood
When looking at the mood board, I could say that there is a similarity with the banana Kong
and the robot horse layout, they are both side scrolling, meaning that when the character
moves, the screen moves. For the colours, the colours all look similar to each other in each
picture, there is lots of rainbow colours, since rainbows are highly connected to unicorns. The
image styles are all similar because they are all referring to one layout: endless runner games.
There is only one form of font I will be using and that is the font of the pixel alphabet. The tone
is all the same because it reflects on unicorns and rainbows which is all linked to happiness.
Finally, the mood mainly reflects on the tone, and that is happy, bright and sweet.
How will your mood board influence your final product?
My mood board will influence my final product by drawing
inspiration from images to make up the images as well as
the characters.
