Level 3 creative media gaming development proposal
1. Level 3 Creative Media Gaming Development: Proposal
Ally Dash
Working Title
The name of my game is called Ally Dash, a special
needs interactive game
Audience
The audience for my game will be the average age
range of 16-19-year olds. Since autism effects both
genders, I will make my game suitable for those two
required. I am positive it will appeal my audience in
regards to the gender because at such a developing
age, the teens will learn more as life goes on the
true nature of autism and its symbolism. For social
status, it will affect all classes because autism can
affect anyone, without warning, it could happen. As
for psychographics, I will make sure the game is
2. suitable for everyone of the classes, especially the
balanced class, who want to achieve anything, and
that is what a positive autistic wants. Overall, I
believe my game will inspire my audience, especially
autistics to make the right choices, as well as
blossom to becoming a fresh person inside.
Rationale
Throughout the last academic year, I have required
the animation and drawing skills of Photoshop,
which is key to making pixel animated games. I have
gained the knowledge of how to make a single layer
look like it’s the limb of a single character moving. I
am hoping to use this effect to make the legs of all
move to make it look like she is galloping over the
obstacles to dodge the power of the negative forces
of depression. Last year, my advergame was to
promote the good effects of Diet Coca Cola, and it
turned out pretty good. There will be an impact from
the game because the force of evil from the Coca
3. Cola game will draw inspiration for the enemies of
my game, they will act in a similar fashion, which is
to capture the hero: Ally.
Project Concept
The game’s concept is basically revolving around a
simple, special unicorn named Ally, who represents
the spirit of the autism spectrum: Along with her
friends, the mental health creatures, they spread the
light and positive sides of the different psychotic
mental health’s, and assuring the world that there’s
nothing to be frightened of, for the mental health’s
act also as a sign of good. Ally and her friends live
on a forbidden part of the world which is not named
on the map: Mental Health Island. However,
negative forces from the forgotten depths of
darkness, the once souls of mental health issues are
returning to take over the island and spread the
negative energy to the rest of the world. With the
rest of the creatures bound in chains, it is up to Ally
4. alone to restore the happiness to the island and the
world by using the magic and positivity of the spirit
of autism. I am going to create an endless runner
game describing Ally’s journey and her hopeful
escape from the force’s clutches. I will conduct
surveys and analyze existing products to see the
common features they all have, as well as collect
responses and wishes of what the audience want to
see in the game from their own opinions. From
these results, it will help me by incorporating the
opinions and decisions of what the audience thinks
about pixel animated games, and make it the next
best thing as promised.
Evaluation
I plan to evaluate my work by reviewing the process,
and explain in detail in my reflection how and what I
used to construct my work. As for the evaluation, I
will explain what went well, what I could improve
and how the different parts of the process such as
5. the planning has helped my work in the end. Also, I
will collect personal opinions from others so that I
can reflect on how well I have done, and how to
improve.
