INSPIRE FOR 
CHANGE

THE GENESIS
THE GENESIS 
We, the teachers of PSBB , K.K.Nagar , were recently 
shown a video that talked of how children can be a big 
force towards changing the world in their own special 
way. 
After seeing the video, we were asked to introspect 
and plan for how our own students could contribute to 
a social cause in their own sweet little innocent ways.
THE IDEA
THE IDEA 
After some thought, I came to the conclusion that what was needed 
was an action plan with the following attributes:- 
It can make a visible difference to our immediate 
environment. 
 It should be implementable even by the youngsters in my 
class VI ‘K’. 
 It also inculcates good habits in the children participants for 
the wider world outside the school campus. 
THE PLAN:- 
 Our students helped towards eradicating the bad habit of littering 
which is very common and widespread throughout India.

IMPLEMENTATION
THE IMPLEMENTATION 
 Our students stay back after school gets over each day and collect all 
the left over stationery which is generally scattered all over the 
classroom. 
 They either keep it safely with themselves or put it in the cupboard for 
safe-keeping. 
 The next day the stationery is returned to the respective owners. 
 At the same time, the owners are also made aware about how 
responsibility starts with small things such as this, how such things can 
save their parents’ hard earned money etc.

When asked about why this particular project was initiated , one 
student’s reply was, ”If not us, then who ma’am? “ 
The future generation of INDIA is thus getting involved and helping out 
from an early age. 
Kudos to them.  
The children also made some posters which we can see in the video 
that follows next…

the way they are, and ask why? 
I dream of things that never were, 
and ask why not?

  • 1. INSPIRE FOR CHANGE Mrs. Sangeeta Gupta Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan KK Nagar, Chennai 600092
  • 3. THE GENESIS We, the teachers of PSBB , K.K.Nagar , were recently shown a video that talked of how children can be a big force towards changing the world in their own special way. After seeing the video, we were asked to introspect and plan for how our own students could contribute to a social cause in their own sweet little innocent ways.
  • 5. THE IDEA After some thought, I came to the conclusion that what was needed was an action plan with the following attributes:- It can make a visible difference to our immediate environment.  It should be implementable even by the youngsters in my class VI ‘K’.  It also inculcates good habits in the children participants for the wider world outside the school campus. THE PLAN:-  Our students helped towards eradicating the bad habit of littering which is very common and widespread throughout India.

THE IMPLEMENTATION  Our students stay back after school gets over each day and collect all the left over stationery which is generally scattered all over the classroom.  They either keep it safely with themselves or put it in the cupboard for safe-keeping.  The next day the stationery is returned to the respective owners.  At the same time, the owners are also made aware about how responsibility starts with small things such as this, how such things can save their parents’ hard earned money etc.

IN THEIR WORDS When asked about why this particular project was initiated , one student’s reply was, ”If not us, then who ma’am? “ The future generation of INDIA is thus getting involved and helping out from an early age. Kudos to them.  The children also made some posters which we can see in the video that follows next…
