Inclusion and Education
• Inclusion- the term in Education has to do with all
people, regardless of their abilities, disabilities, health
care needs they all have a right to: Be respected,
treated equally and appreciated as valuable members
of their community.
• Education- is the process of facilitating learning, or
the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, morals,
beliefs and habits.
INCLUSIVE EDUCATION
 It refers to the capacity of
ordinary local schools and ECD
centers to respond to the needs of
all learners, including those
requiring extra support because
of learning or physical disability,
social disadvantage, cultural
difference or other barriers to
learning.
 Inclusive Education is about
ensuring equality to everyone.
Merits of Inclusive Education
Everyone is granted an equal education.
 All learners learn by being together through sharing ideas, feelings,
new skills etc.
 They can develop friendships with their different backgrounds.
Leaners develop a positive understanding of themselves and others.
Help the disabled children develop socially.
Learners learn important academic skills
The Inclusive Teacher
Understands child development in general
Understand that all children have individual needs and
development patterns.
Respectful of diversity and family characteristics
Work with other professionals to meet needs of children.
Team members support one another.
Each professional bring expertise
Teacher Training
A lot of teachers were never taught how to teach disabled children or how
to teach in a child-friendly, active manner in general.
SIA organizes training programs for regular teachers, Inclusive Education
Resource Teachers (IERTs)& Special teachers from SSA, and NGOs in the
area of inclusive education & CBR, besides need based training programs
for CBR workers from NGOs, Anganvadi workers, Village Rehabilitation
workers, parents and Volunteers .
 the training increases awareness about inclusive education improves the
confidence of teachers in their ability to teach students with diverse
learning needs. Increase awareness of the many benefits of inclusive
education through the interaction of educators and key community
members with people with disabilities.
Promoting Inclusive Education
Enhances learning anywhere and
anyhow.
Opportunities to express knowledge in a 21st
century standard.
Opens room for creativity.
Support students in text based
environments.
Philosophy of Inclusive Education
• Early childhood is a unique phase in a child's
development.
• Family is very important in a child's early
education.
• Teaching practices need to be
developmentally and individually
appropriate.
• Professionals must be culturally responsive.

Inclusion and Education • Inclusion- the term in Education has to do with all people, regardless of their abilities, disabilities, health care needs they all have a right to: Be respected, treated equally and appreciated as valuable members of their community. • Education- is the process of facilitating learning, or the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, morals, beliefs and habits.
  • 3. INCLUSIVE EDUCATION  It refers to the capacity of ordinary local schools and ECD centers to respond to the needs of all learners, including those requiring extra support because of learning or physical disability, social disadvantage, cultural difference or other barriers to learning.  Inclusive Education is about ensuring equality to everyone.

Merits of Inclusive Education Everyone is granted an equal education.  All learners learn by being together through sharing ideas, feelings, new skills etc.  They can develop friendships with their different backgrounds. Leaners develop a positive understanding of themselves and others. Help the disabled children develop socially. Learners learn important academic skills

The Inclusive Teacher Understands child development in general Understand that all children have individual needs and development patterns. Respectful of diversity and family characteristics Work with other professionals to meet needs of children. Team members support one another. Each professional bring expertise

Teacher Training A lot of teachers were never taught how to teach disabled children or how to teach in a child-friendly, active manner in general. SIA organizes training programs for regular teachers, Inclusive Education Resource Teachers (IERTs)& Special teachers from SSA, and NGOs in the area of inclusive education & CBR, besides need based training programs for CBR workers from NGOs, Anganvadi workers, Village Rehabilitation workers, parents and Volunteers .  the training increases awareness about inclusive education improves the confidence of teachers in their ability to teach students with diverse learning needs. Increase awareness of the many benefits of inclusive education through the interaction of educators and key community members with people with disabilities.

  • 11. Promoting Inclusive Education Enhances learning anywhere and anyhow. Opportunities to express knowledge in a 21st century standard. Opens room for creativity. Support students in text based environments.
  • 12. Philosophy of Inclusive Education • Early childhood is a unique phase in a child's development. • Family is very important in a child's early education. • Teaching practices need to be developmentally and individually appropriate. • Professionals must be culturally responsive.
