Glucose And Starch Lab Report
Starch and Water Diffusing Into Either Iodine or Glucose Through a Semi Permeable Dialysis Tubing
Diffusion is a high concertation of molecules spreading randomly to a lower concertation. This an
example of passive transport that does not require ATP. A lipid bilayer can only easily allow small
molecules that are non polar through it. Water is an exception because it can defuse through with a
process called Osmosis. Special aquaporin proteins allow the water through the semi permeable
membrane. Starch is a polysaccharide made of many glucose monosaccharides bonded together. It is
insoluble in water. Glucose is soluble in water and is also a monosaccharide.
Hypothesis
Setup 1 Starch will not diffuse out of the tubing. It is a polysaccharide, so it will be hard to diffuse
through because of its size. The liquid iodine will be able to diffuse into the tubing. Even though
iodine is slightly charged, they are small, which will allow them to diffuse. ... Show more content on

The Writing Style Of The Term- Harold And Maude By Colin...
Best Book of the Term Harold Maude
Have you ever read a book that has changed your life? A book that leaves you feeling motivated and
enlightened. Harold and Maude by Colin Higgins does just that. This book is not simply a quirky love
story between two unlikely individuals, but about the power of optimism and a unique way of living
life, a true inspiration. However, besides the storyline, the writing style of the author has a huge
impact in setting the book apart. When considering why the book Harold and Maude is the best book
of the term the fundamentals of the writing style have to be taken into account from the points of view
to the ending which, all play a crucial role in making the reading experience memorable. First is the
use of the third person omniscient point of view. According to the text, in the third person omniscient
point of view, a narrator from outside the story world tells the story. (WEAL, 45) The advantage of
this style is the reader gets a unique perspective of getting to hear the characters thoughts. For
example, ...she listened to the Chopin playing softly. How soothing, she thought... (Higgins, 2) Here
the reader can comprehend the character s, state of mind as she enjoys the music playing in the
background. Unlike in the book World War Z by Max Brooks where the author has used the epistolary
style using the first person point of view that, reveals action through letters. (WEAL, 46) The
disadvantage of this writing style is the reader

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Wearing The Motorcycle
Introduction
The motorcycle can be termed as a necessary evil (Chenier Evans, 1987). This is due to the fact that
despite the fatalities and deaths it causes when involved in an accident, more and more of them are
still being manufactured and used by many people not only in the United States but also in other parts
of the world. Since the need for the motorcycle is on the rise regardless of the injuries and deaths it
causes, the focus should be put more on the solutions to the problem. There is already the problem of
injuries or even deaths of the passengers and motorcyclists caused by motorcycles. How can this be
addressed? There are four different people involved in this scenario. These are the person riding the
motorcycle, the passenger, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Helmet wearing has a number of advantages. For instance, it protects head related injuries. Most of the
injuries caused by motorcycle accidents target the head. Head is a very important part of the body
since it houses the brain. Therefore, brain injury is very common during a motorcycle accident. The
advantage of wearing the helmet is that it protects the head during an accident which in turn prevent
brain injury (Harvey et al., 2017).
The second advantage of wearing the helmet is that it significantly increases the chances of survival in
case of an accident. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, in 2012
approximately 1,699 lives were saved courtesy of wearing of helmets (Olsen et al., 2016). The risk the
motorists are subjected to when riding without the helmet is higher than riding with the helmet. It is
reported that riders and passengers who fail to wear helmets are at risk of suffering a traumatic brain
injury in case they get involved in an accident (Olsen et al., 2016). Failure to wear the helmet during
riding of a motorcycle leaves the head more vulnerable to a traumatic impact in case of an accident
even if that accident is not

What Are The Causes Of The Second Industrial Revolution
The second Industrial Revolution was responsible for evoking great change in the United States of
America. It was a time when the very fabric of America was being redesigned and improved upon.
Populations were beginning to gravitate towards large urban areas, such as New York and
Philadelphia, and the economy was becoming more industrial based. Farming was becoming less of a
priority, as more Americans became determined to find factory jobs. The country was beginning to
modernize. The introduction of big business and labor unions was able to revolutionize The United
States economy and society. By the late nineteenth century, the American economy had experienced a
complete change; individual companies were beginning to take control of market and reconstruct the
way businesses were run. The entrepreneurs who took ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Capitalists were able take control of the economy by using new techniques and technologies to create
jobs, as well as take over competing businesses. Business tycoons were also able to improve other
businesses and industries by hiring independent companies, like security agencies, to help them
control their workers disputes. Labor unions were created by laborers who were unhappy with their
working conditions. Workers were able to protest big businesses by refusing to work, creating unrest
in American society over the rights and treatment of workers. The relationship between laborers and
capitalists is like that of the Occupy Wall Street movement, where there was a large amount of strife in
the working class about the distribution of wealth. Much like the industrial workers, the Occupy
protesters were unhappy about the social and economic inequality between themselves and the one
percent. Despite the unruly relationship between capitalists and their workers, both groups were able
to change the United States economy and society for the

Western Influence On Japanese Art
Japanese art has a rich history stretching back tens of thousands of years. This long history has been
divided into many different periods. The Meiji, Taisho, Showa, and Heisei periods cover the Modern
Era 1868 present of Japanese art. Katsuhika Hokusai, Takahashi Yuichi, and Claude Monet are all
famous artists of modern Japanese art history. Westernization is the term that describes the influence
of the West in Japan. Japonisme refers to the period of time in which European artists looked to the
East in order to emulate its style in their art. The West was very important to modern Japanese art
history because if was influential and influenced by Japan. Before the West, China imprinted its style
on Japanese art as well as culture. In fact, China and Japan have been in contact for millennia. Both
countries had very similar styles of art up until the 1600s when Japan separated itself from the outside

During the Meiji and Taisho periods, the Western influence began to take hold of the country. The
emperor of Japan at this time wanted to protect his country from being colonized so he made sure to
update technology to western standards. This included making railroads a major method of
transportation, opening art schools funded by the government, and separating polytheistic religions
Buddhism for example from art (Japanese Art). At these aforementioned art schools, European
teachers came to teach students about western art. Oil paintings were a major technique adopted by the
Japanese. Originally, the Japanese abandoned their style completely and made Western style work.
However, an American professor at Tokyo Imperial University Ernest Fenollosa and a former student
at said university Okakura Kakuzo helped the Japanese find their culture again. The result of these
events was the Japanese kept their eastern style and subjects of art although they used western
materials like oil paints

The Color Purple And Ovid s Metamorphoses
In the heart breaking novel The Color Purple by Alice Walker, we read about the protagonist and
narrator, Celie who is a victim of rape and abuse. She is caught in this vicious patriarchal society
where women have no voice. In this novel we see many similarities to Ovid s archetypal rape
narrative. I will discuss the similarities in full detail and explain how the men in the female
protagonists lives hurt and betrayed them. I will be looking at the book The Color Purple as well as
Ovid s Metamorphoses.
When looking at The Color Purple we read about Celie s tragic life, and you feel her pain and
suffering by just reading the words on the page. Her father beats and rapes her and by the looks of
things, it seems that she is forever doomed with eternal heartache, abuse and rape. It seems that she
will never be happy. She is controlled and manipulated by the men in her life that she should be able
to trust. Her father Alphonso has complete control over her and uses her to his advantage and she
suffers from it.
Alice Walker vividly portrays the sad but apparent reality of life in the black rural communities of
America during the mid twentieth century. It is a time when the impacts of slavery are still ... Show

Being A Bad Kid Research Paper
Being a very well known kid living in Round Rock Texas, life was pretty nice. I didn t think I would
move until i graduated high school. Both of my brothers had been through elementary, middle and
high school so my family was pretty well known in the town. I loved all the attention being known by
a lot of people and all the coaches. I had a feeling high school would be a breeze having so many
friends and knowing all the people i needed to know.
Living in Texas for 10 years of my life made me feel like I was set. I had been through elementary

knew that nobody would try to mess with me. I was set for the rest of my school years as a teen.

A Thousand Splendid Suns By Khaled Hosseini
In Khaled Hosseini s novel, A Thousand Splendid Suns, women live in an oppressive, discriminatory
Afghan society in which they are deemed useless and obtain little to no rights, yet still manage to
endure the burden that falls upon them. After the immensely false interpretations of her father and the
bitter fatality of her mother, Mariam s father demands she marries a stranger considerably older than
her at the age of fifteen. Rasheed prays daily in hopes for Laila to produce a male offspring and is
exceedingly unappreciative and disrespectful when Laila produces a female instead. Rasheed and the
Taliban claim it is extremely blasphemous and embarrassing for a married Afghan woman to look
directly into a man s eyes, wear makeup, or display her knees so Rasheed asserts Mariam and Laila
wear burqas. Women s diminished rights and limited input in society is evident when youthful Mariam
unwillingly marries an outright stranger because her father and wives demands she do so.
Mariam is in absolute disbelief when Jalil s wives instruct her to marry a forty five year old man
immediately while Jalil watches speechlessly and approves of the arranged, instant, forced marriage.
After less than a month of living with her father, his wives find the perfect opportunity to remove
Mariam from the household which simultaneously abolishes the last trace of her father s scandalous
mistake of an affair with his housekeeper, Mariam s mother. You have a suitor, Khadija said. Mariam s

Cuban Missile Crisis Dbq
World War III is an alarming event to ponder on right? Especially if that war would be nuclear. This
event almost happened on multiple occasions, but this is going to be about a nerve racking time in
1962. What happened in 1962 you may ask? The Cuban Missile Crisis. Just as the year was coming to
an end an American spy plane took pictures of missiles in an island 103 miles off the coast of Florida,
Cuba. Can theorize who put the missiles there? The USSR put them there because Cuba was a
neighboring communist country to the US, so if the US were to do something the USSR could shoot
the missiles. Mind you, these weapons are nuclear and as we should all know that is never excellent.
After this very stressful time for the US and the USSR how did ... Show more content on

That s what Mr. Kennedy did once he found out that the Soviets had missiles in Cuba. Mr. Kennedy
put the Military in DEFCON 2. What is DEFCON you may ask and why is it a big deal if it is a lower
number? DEFCON stands for defense readiness condition, with DEFCON 5 meaning to be ready and
DEFCON 1 meaning nuclear war is coming. You could imagine this was terrifying for the military
because this is the first time DEFCON 2 was called. Also DEFCON 2 was only called twice, during
this time period and 29 years later in the first week of the Gulf War. Document D is a political cartoon
of the missiles that both the US and USSR have stocked up, but with a sign on both supplies that
states, ON NO ACCOUNT TO BE USED BECAUSE THE ENEMY MIGHT RETALIATE . This
means that both superpowers are ready, it s just both of them know if one of the countries attack the
other that action will start a war. This contributes the question of how the missile crisis in Cuba end
without incident because this could have told the opposing side, We are ready to go to war if you are.

Marigolds By Eugenia W. Collier
In Marigolds, Eugenia W. Collier describes a young girl that came to understand the dire financial
situation her family was in to illustrate the loss of innocence. Lizabeth thinks that she was living a
perfect life, but she soon finds that it was just a fantasy that she herself concocted. Collier uses
ordinary symbols, a simple title, and a descriptive style to get across her message that everyone needs
to have hope despite how powerless they are. In the plot of Marigolds, Collier describes Lizabeth, a
girl born into poverty who is unaware of the hardship surrounding her and her family. One summer
day, Lizabeth and her friends taunt Miss Lottie by throwing pebbles at her and her marigolds. Miss
Lottie and her son, John Burke chase the kids away. Afterwards, all of the kids gather around to
celebrate their latest escapade, everyone except Lizabeth. She and her brother head home and sleep
until Lizabeth wakes up from hearing her father cry. That was the moment she realized that she and
the other kids were living a lie. Collier uses Lizabeth, the main character in Marigolds, in order to
portray the loss of hope, and how one cannot have both hope and innocence. Lizabeth is a young girl
who at the beginning of the story is naïve and goes about her life as if nothing was wrong, but she
soon undergoes a transformation every child goes through;growing into adulthood. During this
process, Lizabeth becomes aware of the poverty stricken life that she was born into.

The Current Diagnostic And Statistical Manual Of Mental...
The current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), now in its 5th edition,
defines attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) as persistent cycles of inattention and/or
hyperactivity impulsivity that inhibit an individual s ability to function or interferes with their
development (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). Inattention is said to manifest though
behaviours such as wandering off and difficulty in maintaining focus. Hyperactivity on the other hand,
manifests in an extreme relentlessness at a given activity, or persisting with an activity to the extent
that it wears out others. To be diagnosed with ADHD according to the DSM 5, six or more symptoms
must be met in regarding inattention and or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Firstly, the position in favour of the change will be considered, and in particular the similarity between
fully diagnosed ADHD subjects and late onset ADHD subjects. The position against the change will
look at the issue from a biological standpoint arguing that raising the age of onset to 12 years may not
necessarily capture ADHD in individuals; but rather, biological changes as a result of puberty.
According to the DSM 5, an age earlier than 12 was not selected to be part of the requirement for the
diagnosis due to the difficulty for adults to establish precise childhood onset retrospectively
(American Psychiatric Association, 2013). Changes to the age of onset to before 12 years old is
justified, in part, by the similarity between fully diagnosed ADHD subjects and late onset ADHD
subjects. A study by Applegate et al. (1997) compared a sample of youth who met the criteria for
ADHD and displayed impairment before the age of 7, with youth who met the criteria but did not
display impairment. They found that the age of onset varied depending on the ADHD subtype. 18% of
combined subtype and 43% of the predominantly inattentive subtype had no manifestation until after
they were 7 years old. This brings into question the validity of the DSM 4 s definition of the age of
onset. Another study by Faraone et al. (2006) observed that subjects with late onset ADHD resembled
individuals with the full diagnosis in terms of comorbidity,

Business Process Redesign or Reengineering
Business Process Redesign or Reengineering
Business Process Redesign (BPR) or Reengineering is the fundamental rethinking and radical redesign
of business processes to achieve dramatic improvements in critical, contemporary measures of
performance, such as cost, quality, service, and speed (Hammer and Champy, Reengineering). Since
the BPR idea has surfaced it has been under constant ridicule by the popular press.
They say it takes far too long, creates management headaches, fails 70% of the time, and it s only for
big companies with big checkbooks (Hydrel...). However,
I feel that with the right plan, the right people, and total commitment from those involved, BPR or

This move, however, caused a bit of turmoil in the whole process due to he fact that, many employees

Protestant, Roman Catholic, and Christianity account for approximately 82.5% of the religious
population. The remaining populace practice traditional beliefs such as animist; which is the belief

due to the practice of polygamy. Many of the ethnic groups believe in the common element of
ancestral spirits between man and god. The Kikuyu, who are the majority of citizens, with several
other groups worship the god Nagi who resides on the top of Mt. Kenya. (everyculture, n.d.).
Traditional dance is an important part of Kenyan culture as is in many other African cultures. The

Assignment 1
Q1: What is Edelstein s research question?
A: What is the reason of success and failures of military occupations?
Q2: What is the thing that is being explained in Edelstein s analysis?
A: He basically explained why some occupations last long enough to succeed while others failed in
the end. And in his analysis, he also made several points to support his opinion, which are as follows:
(1) In his analysis he explained how to code a military occupation as a success or a failure It s
basically measured by looking at the long term balance of interests gained by the occupying power
and the cost they paid out.

So in order to succeed, occupiers must both maintain their interests and convince the occupied
population to accept their long term occupations. And in order to make this possible, potential
occupying power should know three points. First of all, the need for occupation, commonly perceived
external threats, and credible guarantees are both the causes and the effects of occupation success;
Second, clear goals should be established and occupiers should be trained to be ready for occupations;
Third, great powers should anticipate the possibility of occupation and take their responsibility to act
before engaging into war.
Q4: How does Edelstein narrow down his research question to specific empirical questions?
A: In this article Edelstein first focused on the basics of occupations, dividing them into different
kinds, and gave metrics for success and failure of military occupations. After that he explained the
reason of success in military occupations and showed the dilemma that failing occupying power
would face, and then gave a conclusion to his theory, after all that, he narrow down his research by
using his conclusions and theory to discuss the implications of the argument for the current occupation
of Iraq and future potential

What Is The Threats Of The Real Estate Development In Canada

will talk about the monetary effects of the new amendment as well as outlining where developers and
builders will end up doing further developments going forward. Second, I will introduce the topic of

Off site levies may also be imposed on an intermunicipal basis (Alberta Government, 2017).
The problem with this new change and the threat to residential development is ultimately the increase
in cost to developers and builders with the new off site levies. Increasing the cost to developers and
builders in Calgary could cause a lot of them to move to other places to develop properties due to the
higher costs of developing within the City of Calgary limits. Looking at appendix A) and B) we can
see that for a vacant lot with 1 single detached to be built in 2016, the cost of the off site levy was
$2,089.00. An increase of $2,227 in 2017 has been made by the new amendment increasing the off site
levy to a total of $4,316.00 which is over twice as much the previous year. Going forward from the
current date to the next year, 2018, we see that off site levies increase again to $6,688.00. An increase
of $2,369.00. In less than 2 years, off site levies increase by $4,599 which in terms of a percentage is a
220% increase in a vacant lot with 1 single detached to be built in levy fees paid to the City of
Calgary. With the alarming increase in cost of off site levies, it will push developers and builders out
of the city to do work in other communities and cities.
One place developers and builders may move to is bedroom communities, bedroom communities are

Why I Want To Write A Personal Essay On Tractoring

Attempted Solutions In the real world, wars have been fought over the existence of Israel dating back
to the 167 BCE (Vidani, 1). Peace treaties have been signed and the wars have ended for the time

Original Solution I can t really think of a way to fix the problem of a country entirely based off of
religion. Religion has a way of tearing us apart and makes us all blind to the real problems of life. The
best idea I have is to find a way to somehow create a government in your own state without
completely going against your religion and making everyone want to kill one another. I would start
with that and try to settle the angry neighbors as well, if I were the King of

Homeschooling Is An Effective Education
Mahatma Gandhi once said There is no school equal to a decent home and no teacher equal to a
virtuous parent. Homeschooling has evolved into a popular and fast growing alternative to traditional
schooling. In 2003, there was an estimated of 1.1 million homeschooled children, and in 2007
homeschooling had continued to grow to over 1.5 million. Opponents of the homeschooling method
argue that parents are not as qualified to educate their children as teachers are; therefore, their children
will not measure up to the academic level of traditionally schooled children. Additionally, they argue
that homeschooled children will not be on the same social level as children in regular schools and will
lack adequate social skills for the real ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Finally, other studies say that parents who home school are spending too much time with their kids
and are swaddling them. (Jeub) Homeschooling disproves all the arguments above. Jeub affirms that
parents are not their child s main educator, but their child learns independently because of his desire to
learn. No matter how qualified parents are, homeschooled children have proven to excel academically.
Also, homeschooling allows children to learn at their own pace. Every curriculum is designed for a
specific child. Individualized learning allows all children s needs to be met. Homeschooling gives
freedom to learn at their own level unlike public schools, where every child must learn a set
curriculum in order to keep up with the class. In response to the argument that homeschooled children
spend too much time with their parents, they actually have positive relationships with their parents and
other adults in the community. Instead of looking at adults as disciplinarians, many view adults as
their mentors as their jobs, other home school parents, or family friends. Lisa Revero adds that
homeschooling provides an environment for the family to learn and live together harmoniously and
frequently unlike a traditionally schooled family where spending family time is often rare. Life
revolves around jobs, endless carpools, sports games, and play practice, leaving little time for the
family to

Health Advantages And Cures Of Cycling
Cycling
Since the 1800 s riding bicycles is a daily life activity. It could be indoor cycling or outdoor. These
Cardio gyms are now known to maintain weight. Cycling can boost your overall fitness condition.
Because it is an intense cardio exercise that works the entire body at once. Day by day numbers of
indoor and outdoor cyclist are increasing, to archive this massive health benefits. Stationary Bikes are
the safest riding then outdoor cycling. Here we listed some common cycling injuries and their cures.
Are There Common Cycling Injuries?
My right knee just started hurting about 4 days ago. I am having sharp pains on the lateral side of my
knee. I had to bike the last couple days with just my left leg, which (wasn t a good thing)! Hopefully,
it will be better tomorrow! David Shirley, taking a few days off in Portland, Oregon.
Asking the question implies the answer; of course, cycling has its list of common injuries, which are
amplified when a cyclist rides cross country over a period of several months which is the situation
with David.
Head Injuries
Head injuries are common among bicyclists who do not wear helmets, which come as no surprise,
considering it is not that difficult to hit a pothole while gazing at scenery or to be hit by a cell phone
obsessed driver. About 540,000 cyclists in the U.S. visit the emergency room each year, and of those,
67,000 have head injuries.

Building up Trust Between Customers and Entrepreneur s...
Hello, The document you uploaded for this order:

document prior to writing an executive summary for this assignment. Moreover, I incorporated its
principles into the executive summary I completed for this assignment. I don t know what you think
should be done differently in fulfilling this 5 page executive summary with four sources which is what
the instructions for this assignment stipulate, and which is what I wrote and included. Thanks. The
principle way for any business to establish trust and rapport with customers is through peer related
interactions. Quite simply, customers do not believe information provided to them by watchdog
organizations or by company overviews and documentation boasting about their products and
services. They do, however, believe and trust their relationships with their peers. Once their peers can
provide information and recommendations about an organization, people are substantially more likely
to utilize its products and services. Trust also plays an integral role in the principle method of revenue
collection for an online entity. There is evidence that suggests that the best way of pursuing this goal,
once there is a degree of trust between customers and a business, is through credit cards. It is worth
noting that Elsa Entrepreneur s odds for increasing her business s propensity for exploiting peer
relationships and credit card usage is

The Value Of Loyalty In The Odyssey By Homer
Loyalty is one of the important factors that influences people because loyalty provides stability for any
long lasting relationship. In The Odyssey, an epic poem by Homer, Penelope shows us the value of
loyalty because she is hopeful that her husband will come back, and she does not want to marry
anyone who is not him. Penelope is a good example of loyalty in The Odyssey because she proves her
loyalty several times. When Odysseus is gone suitors began to throw themselves at her, and they
would do anything to get to marry her. Since she was a queen, Penelope would have been expected to
marry after her spouce died but she stayed true to her husband, Odysseus, by coming up with excuses
not to marry the suitors until she knew for sure that he was dead. To avoid choosing a suitor to marry
she said that she would chose a husband as soon as she finished weaving a shroud for her father in
law, Laertes, even though he was not sick or ready to die yet. Everyday she would show them the
progress that she had made weaving the shroud, but every night before she went to bed she would
unweave all of her work and start over the next day so that the shroud would never be finished.
Her very words,/ and despite our pride and passion we believed her./ So by day she d weave at her
great and growing web / by night, by the light of the torches set beside her,/ she would unravel all she
d done. Three whole years/ she deceived us blind, seduced us with this scheme.../ we caught her in the

Hometown Inventory Paper Mechanicville is a city, one of the smallest cities in the area by state

eastern border of Saratoga County and is north of Albany, the state capital. Mechanicville borders the
towns of Stillwater (of which it was once a part) and Halfmoon in the county, and the town of
Schaghticoke, in Rensselaer County. Many people describe Mechanicville as a boring, dull, nothing to

different bands that play in the band stand, and many different tents where the locals can sell things, in
a yard sale type way. There are also rides, and many trailers that sell fair food in them such as cotton
candy, corn dogs, and fried dough. At night usually around ten, there is the annual firework show,
which lasts about a half hour. It is one of the days where Mechanicville residents can get out and see

Filipino Culture Essay
A look into Filipino culture
Filipino culture is a mix of east and western perspectives and is heavily rooted in Christianity. The
diversity of its people coupled with their ability to adapt and tolerate new ideas has created a fusion of
traditional and modern. Filipinos pride themselves in their Sociability, religious belief, and Family
oriented lifestyle.
Social Aspects Filipino culture focuses heavily on social interaction and although many Filipinos are
aware of western social norms and are tolerant of social miscues that would be rather damaging in
other conservative cultures. Although there are many western aspects to Filipino social behaviors it is
in many respects entirely different. For example teasing is a viable and acceptable form of social
interaction and is used in many aspects to draw attention to a serious issue without shaming the
involved parties. In addition, direct eye contact with a Filipino is discouraged as it implies aggression
and malevolence. Employer relations with their employees is considered a very important topic. It is
important to indulge employees or any underlings you may have with kindness and respect such
behavior is highly esteemed. Any rude behaviors to such individuals is considered arrogance and will
earn you poor marks with any community or organization you may work with.

The Effects Of Stress On The World
On the topic of stress, research has widened eyes on the issues of stress because stress is related to
how many hours one is spending away from family or friends. In America, it was customary that
people work long hours. In the U.S., 85.8 percent of males and 66.5 percent of females work more
than 40 hours per week (G.E. Miller). But for many Americans, more work leads to more stress and a
lower quality of life. This amount of stress is not only known to the United States of America, it is
actually culturally extended to other parts of the world. At least 134 countries have laws setting the
maximum length of the work week; the U.S. does not (G.E. Miller). In Japan overwork is known as

that still leaves more than half of workers stressed. No matter how low stress levels decrease, people

Humans Affecting The Nitrogen Cycle
In recent decades humans have been playing an increasingly large role in the nitrogen cycle. Not all of
the ways humans have been affecting the cycle have been negative, but the vast majority have been.
One key thing that has human activity that has been disrupting the nitrogen cycle is the burning of
fossil fuel. This burning releases carbon into the air at unnatural rate, and thus alters the amount of
nitrogen in the atmosphere. This has had far reaching effects that no one first thought of and is now
affecting the plant and animals in Acadia National Park. Another human activity that has increased
massively over the past few years is industrial nitrogen fixation. This process is used to create
fertilizer with high amount of nitrogen in it.

Imperialism Could Have Grown American Into A World Power
Imperialism could have grown American into a world power and still have respected different

bulldozing the cultures, if America valued and coexisted with the different cultures, an incredible
amount of culture and lives could have been saved. Expanding America should have been similar to

Disagreements on the Negotiation Process of the Camp David...
Many disagreements would arise in the negotiation process of the Camp David Summit that would
lead it to be unsuccessful. Disagreements such as the division of territory, the dispute over Jerusalem,
Security and Refugee arrangements arose in the negotiations. However, most of the criticism for the
failure at Camp David Summit was not pressed on toward the disagreement, it was pressed on
Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat. In this paper, it will mention about blaming Arafat,
disagreement on the right of return , Disagreement on Land swap, and disagreement on the proposed
map as the reason for the failure at Camp David Summit. Most of the criticism for the failure at Camp
David negotiations was pressed on the Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat. He was the main
reason that the summit failed. In Norman G. Finkelstein s The Camp David II Negotiations: How
Dennis Ross Proved the Palestinians Aborted the Peace Process , Finkelstein wrote that the reason for
the Camp David failure is that Arafat did nothing during the negotiation; he made no concessions
while Barak made huge concessions. Norman G. Finkelstein wrote:

Barak made huge concessions at Camp David, Arafat, having a tendency to pocket (p. 686), made

An Investigation Based On The Arrhenius Law
INTRODUCTION
This investigation is based on the Arrhenius law, A formula created by Professor Svante Arrhenius that
combines the Boltzmann distribution law with the concept of activation energy (Stephen Lower
2011a) to depict one of the most important relationships between temperature and rate of reaction in
chemistry to date. In the formula,
K = e ≈ 2.71828
A = Arrhenius constant = Activation Energy
RT = Average kinetic energy (Universal gas constant × Temperature in Kelvins) In this experiment, the
main focus is placed on the Arrhenius plot, which is derived through the manipulation of the Arrhenius
equation to remove its exponential form by taking the natural log of both sides of the equation which

discussion based on using the Arrhenius plot for physical processes.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
2.1 Sublimation; an endothermic process
Sublimation is the term describing the transition of a substance from the solid phase to the gas phase
without passing through an intermediary liquid phase. (Anne Marie Helmenstine 2014a) It is a
physical change of state, which occurs at temperatures and pressures below the triple point of the
substance, the point where the temperature and pressure causes the 3 phases: solid, liquid and vapour,
of a single component system to be in equilibrium. (Blackwell Scientific Publications Oxford 1997)
This definition shows that sublimation is a purely physical process; so a substance does not undergo a
chemical reaction during sublimation.
This diagram represents a typical endothermic reaction: Fig. 2: Endothermic reaction enthalpy change
(hferrier n.d.)
As displayed in figure 2, a substance requires kinetic energy greater or equal to its activation energy in
order for it to change from its initial form to its product. The activation energy shown is one of the
pathways that a reaction takes with respect to the pressure that it is subjected to. Consider that for a
substance to change from its solid phase to its gas phase the bonds are all fixed in a position and when
the particles have enough energy, they are able to

Danger Signals
As they mature, dendritic cells leave the peripheral tissues and migrate to the lymph nodes and other
lymphatic organs. In the paracortex of lymph node, a dendritic cell interacts with lymphocytes, such as
T cells presenting antigens for further processing by the adaptive immune system.
4.1.1.2 PAMP, Danger, Safe and Inflammation Signals
The Danger Model holds that the maturation of dendritic cells is controlled by signaling molecules
named Pathogen Associated Molecular Pattern (PAMP), danger, safe and inflammation signals found
in the surrounding tissue. Tissues experiencing stress or damage emit danger signals while healthy,
unstressed tissues emit safe signals. Some molecular patterns commonly found along with bacteria
and other pathogens also act as danger signals.
Sufficient stimulus by danger signals causes dendritic cells to become fully mature. This causes them
to express signaling molecules that indicate the antigens they present were found in a dangerous
environment. Mature dendritic cells promote immune reactions to ... Show more content on

Necrosis is the unexpected or forced death of tissue cell that indicate something abnormal was
happened in the tissue. The release of danger signal is the indicator of damage to the tissue against
which the immune system is trying to protect. The sufficient exposure to the danger signal causes DC
maturation to the fully mature state. Potency of danger signal is less than PAPMs, meaning that a
higher concentration of danger signal molecules are needed in order to produce a response of the same
magnitude as similar concentration of PAMPs. Concentration is the number of molecules of signal per
unit volume. Within this thesis, danger signals are indicators of abnormality but have lower value of
confidence that the PAMP signal. Danger signals expression is an indication that antigen in a

Christian Symbolism and Chivalric Ideals in Sir Gawain and...
Upon first Reading Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, I noticed that it comes off as a romantic
normative poem about chivalric ideals and traditions of the ruling class with covertly Christian
Images. The protagonist character Sir Gawain stands out as the role model of the chivalric ideals of
the 14th century while displaying Christian images on his armor. The combination of Gawain s armor
and actions throughout the poem exemplify his characteristics of Christian perfection and chivalric
ideals. The very first scene with Bertilak of Hautdesert known as the Green Knight begins to mold
your perception of how chivalrous Sir Gawain is by portraying him as valiant, humble, and virtuous
knight to Arthur. I felt that the interruption of Arthur ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even the armor without the pentangle had a religious importance in medieval literature because to be
adorned in armor was to be strengthened in the lord, in the might of his power ... [and with] the armor
of God that you may be able to stand against the deceits of the devil (Green 126), which comes into
play when Bertilak s wife tries to seduce Gawain. In this instance Bertilak is representative of the
devil and he is using his wife to test Gawain to see if he would commit sodomy and break his religious
and knightly code. This scene is extremely important since he has been divested of his armor, relived
of his helmet, horse and his coat (Ashton 60), basically everything physical that reminds him of his
faith. However, even without his armor being a constant reminder of his faith and honor he proves he
is truly faithful and chivalrous by turning down Bertilak s wife. To get a better understanding of the
meaning and importance of the pentangle we must analyze the author s description of the meaning of
it or lack thereof. The author does give examples of the meanings of the symbol being explained as
Gawain being faithful in five ways which he describes. However, the author doesn t tell us what he

Describe The Importance Of The Colosseum
The Colosseum
Koch, Matt
Do you know what one of the most important structures to mankind history is? The Colosseum. The
importance of the Colosseum, otherwise known originally as the Flavian Amphitheatre, was that many
of the materials, styles, and architecture were inspiring to many architects and designers constructing
today s modern facilities and structures.
The emperor of Rome at the time, Vespasian, began building the Colosseum (Flavian Amphitheatre) in
72 AD. They believed that in ancient Rome the patron was more noble and loyal than the architects,
and the architects were just craftsmen and hired hands (Woog, 2014). So as of today the designers and
architects are unknown to the world, and will probably never be found out about because if limited
evidence. Floor plans, 3 dimensional scale models, perspective drawings, and full size design sketches
are what were used by the anonymous architects and designers of the Colosseum (Hopkins, 2011). The
site of construction was formerly known as the Golden House, owned and lived in by Nero the
Emperor. This was drained and as a precaution against potential earthquake damage concrete
foundations six metres deep were put down to support it (Cartwright, 2012). And eight long years of
hard work and design later the Colosseum (Flavian Amphitheatre) was completed in 80 CE.
There were many materials mixed in the project of constructing the Colosseum (Flavian
Amphitheatre). The walls of the Colosseum were built with stone. They made use of a number of
arches in order to keep the weight down, but yet still keep them strong (Cartwright, 2012). The floor
of the Colosseum was wooden and usually covered in sand most of the time. But the floor was taken
out due to heavy weathering in 1674 AD. And about 19 miles outside of Rome in a little town of
Tivoli were quarries where the Romans mined there stone blocks out of to construct the walls of the
Colosseum. Some other material they had used to construct the colosseum include, limestone brick,
concrete and volcanic stone (otherwise known as tufa ), pumice stone. And including bronze, which
was used for statues around the stadium. But some parts of the colosseum that are made of concrete
are not authentic original to the

There is no history of a dual development of one type of full day program to provide care for children
of working mothers and another type of half day program to provide education for children of non
employed mothers. Education replaces physical care as the primary emphasis in this program. Class
size increases with age, ranging from 20 to 40 children. Each group typically has two teachers and a
nurse. Preschool: Serve children upper age 5. A part of the elementary school. It is a typically half day
program serving children the year prior to the 1st grade. Comparable to U.S. public kindergartens,
these classes usually place greater emphasis upon academics and use teaching methods similar to
those of the Chinese elementary classrooms. In both of those three kind of program, there is a
common problem. Those children rarely work independently or in self selected group tasks. On the
contrary, the point is on following teacher s guidance, instead of self invention. All the children will
do the same thing at the same time. For example, in a typical art class, teacher demonstrates how to
fold and twist a paper butterfly. Then she check every child doing the same step before proceed to the
next step. Painting class usually include children to copy an object of the teacher. Even if the use of
teaching toys, all children are using the same toy at the same time.

Inside Rain Man By Dr. Temple Grandin
Inside Rain Man
It is never too late to expand the mind of a person on the autism spectrum. This quote by Dr. Temple
Grandin helps explain to me what autism is all about. According to autismspeaks.org , Autism is a
condition that is a result of a neurological disorder that has an affect on normal brain function,
affecting development of the person s communication and social interaction skills. Although we do not
have a set cause for autism, we know that it presents itself during the first three years of a child s life.
In the 1988 film Rain Man, we see a man, Raymond Babbit, with autism. The movie begins with
Charlie Babbit learning that his father has passed away and that he was left with a few rose bushes and
a car, while the rest of the 3 million dollars went to Charlie s brother Raymond. We later find out that
Charlie once knew Raymond and he actually gave Raymond the nickname Rain Man because when he
was little he couldn t say Raymond. Charlie like any other person who felt they were cheated out of
their share of family money was very determined. While spending time with Raymond ,Charlie found
that he was exceptionally brilliant but also has many characteristics that individuals with autism
experience. Throughout the film we see that Raymond has to have structure in his daily life, he often
repeats himself, and has trouble interacting with people and understanding concepts but is extremely
proficient in counting and doing calculations.

Boundless Fluorine Essay
Introduction The elemental group F, Cl, Br, I, and At, located in the seventeenth column of the
periodic table, are known as Halogens. Halogens are nonmetals and they have an effective nuclear
charge, because of this they re highly electronegative. Due to their electronegativity, they re very
reactive and they gain electrons through reactions with other elements. However, halogens can be very
harmful or deadly to biological organisms. Physical properties of Halogens When the electron shells
are filled, the atoms get bigger as you go down the group of halogens. When fluorine is a diatomic
molecule, the F F bond is quite weak (Boundless. Halogens. Halogens | Boundless ... Show more

The color of this element reflects the reactivity of it. The appearance is a very pale yellow green. This
element is a dangerously reactive gas. In fact it s one of the most reactive of all the elements and
reacts mostly to metals. An example of this is when steel wood is exposed to fluorine it bursts into
flames ( Fluorine Element Information, Properties and Uses | Periodic Table. Royal Society of
Chemistry). Which also explains why they used fluorine in the Second World War to help develop the
atom bomb and other projects having to do with that. It s also been used to help make gases for high
powered transformers. It s also used in teflon, cable insulation, plumbers tape, and a base for
waterproof shoes and clothes. Chlorine has a similar look to fluorine. Chlorine is a yellow green dense
gas. It has a very distinct smell to it and has been used as a chemical weapon. It also kills bacteria and
is used as a disinfectant. Chlorine disinfects drinking water and swimming pool water and is also used
in organic chemistry. It can be used as an oxidising agent and in substitution reactions. But in the past
it was used to make chloroform. Since chlorine is poisonous it was used as a chemical weapon during

Other airlines followed suit, creating their own systems. For example, Delta Air Lines launched the
Delta Automated Travel Account System (DATAS) in 1968. United Airlines and Trans World Airlines
followed them after in 1971, with the Apollo Reservation System and Programmed Airline
Reservation System (PARS).
The problem following these systems being developed is that travel agents begun to push for a system
that would automate their side of the process. Fearing this would place too much power in the agent s
hand. American Airlines executive Robert Crandall proposed creating and industry wide computer
reservation system to be a central clearing house for U.S Travel. In 1976, United began to offer their
system APOLLO to travel agents so it wouldn t let them book tickets to United s competitors. After
this, other companies started following suit and release their systems to travel agents. If we fast
forward to today, the systems that were developed by the airline companies have been crashing. One
story recently showed in November of 2016, Airlines report problems as booking system goes down ,
the computer booking system used by major American Airlines had a malfunctioned back in
November. The system, known as Sabre said the outage happened in the middle of the day. It wasn t
immediately clear how widespread the outage was. It seemed that only passengers at John F. Kennedy

Irritable Bowel Syndrome Analysis
Food Curt This might be TMI (too much information), if so, skip this chapter. Throughout the trip, I
was struggling with Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Trust me, when your bowel is irritable, so are you. At
any rate, I had been trying to eat healthy and high fiber. While we were traveling, I was faced with a
lot of new foods. Given all my digestive issues, I was trying to keep it simple. A couple bad
experiences prompted my decision to pretty much eat nothing but ham and cheese sandwiches unless I
was fairly sure the foods available would not cause me problems. I had thought Chinese would be a
safe choice; however, that turned out not to be the case. My bad experience at the Chinese restaurant
in Tapachula, when I was served essentially ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I don t think it is as heavily processed nor do I think it contains as many additives as the cheese
available in the United States. Although it may not be as safe to eat, it is really delicious. I live in
Arizona and have occasionally had cheese from across the border in Mexico. The cheese I had in
Buenaventura was memorable and much like Mexican cheese: really rich and salty. The other issue I
struggled with was a justifiable fear of drinking contaminated water. Non carbonated bottled water,
referred to as sin gas (without gas), was hard to find. Trusting tap water was inviting serious illness, so
Miguel consumed primarily Diet Coke and I resorted to regular Coke, which left me dehydrated a
great deal of the time. A ham and cheese sandwich became my standard lunch at airport cafes. I based
my choice on a combination of knowing it would not make me sick and the ease with which I could
order. Sanwich de jamon y queso con Coca sin hielo, por favor. (Ham and cheese sandwich with Coca
Cola, no ice.) Boy did I eat a lot of ham and cheese sandwiches washed down with bottles of warm
Coke by the time the trip was over. Fortunately, there were memorable meals which provided a
counterpoint to all the ham and cheese sandwiches. Our Thanksgiving dinner when we were not
officially in Buenaventura, Columbia, dinner at the Sheraton restaurant in Guayaquil, Ecuador

  • 2. Glucose And Starch Lab Report Starch and Water Diffusing Into Either Iodine or Glucose Through a Semi Permeable Dialysis Tubing Diffusion is a high concertation of molecules spreading randomly to a lower concertation. This an example of passive transport that does not require ATP. A lipid bilayer can only easily allow small molecules that are non polar through it. Water is an exception because it can defuse through with a process called Osmosis. Special aquaporin proteins allow the water through the semi permeable membrane. Starch is a polysaccharide made of many glucose monosaccharides bonded together. It is insoluble in water. Glucose is soluble in water and is also a monosaccharide. Hypothesis Setup 1 Starch will not diffuse out of the tubing. It is a polysaccharide, so it will be hard to diffuse through because of its size. The liquid iodine will be able to diffuse into the tubing. Even though iodine is slightly charged, they are small, which will allow them to diffuse. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 3. The Writing Style Of The Term- Harold And Maude By Colin... Best Book of the Term Harold Maude Have you ever read a book that has changed your life? A book that leaves you feeling motivated and enlightened. Harold and Maude by Colin Higgins does just that. This book is not simply a quirky love story between two unlikely individuals, but about the power of optimism and a unique way of living life, a true inspiration. However, besides the storyline, the writing style of the author has a huge impact in setting the book apart. When considering why the book Harold and Maude is the best book of the term the fundamentals of the writing style have to be taken into account from the points of view to the ending which, all play a crucial role in making the reading experience memorable. • 4. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Wearing The Motorcycle Introduction The motorcycle can be termed as a necessary evil (Chenier Evans, 1987). This is due to the fact that despite the fatalities and deaths it causes when involved in an accident, more and more of them are still being manufactured and used by many people not only in the United States but also in other parts of the world. Since the need for the motorcycle is on the rise regardless of the injuries and deaths it causes, the focus should be put more on the solutions to the problem. There is already the problem of injuries or even deaths of the passengers and motorcyclists caused by motorcycles. How can this be addressed? Helmet wearing has a number of advantages. For instance, it protects head related injuries. Most of the injuries caused by motorcycle accidents target the head. Head is a very important part of the body since it houses the brain. Therefore, brain injury is very common during a motorcycle accident. The advantage of wearing the helmet is that it protects the head during an accident which in turn prevent brain injury (Harvey et al., 2017). The second advantage of wearing the helmet is that it significantly increases the chances of survival in case of an accident. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, in 2012 approximately 1,699 lives were saved courtesy of wearing of helmets (Olsen et al., 2016). The risk the motorists are subjected to when riding without the helmet is higher than riding with the helmet. It is reported that riders and passengers who fail to wear helmets are at risk of suffering a traumatic brain injury in case they get involved in an accident (Olsen et al., 2016). Failure to wear the helmet during riding of a motorcycle leaves the head more vulnerable to a traumatic impact in case of an accident even if that accident is not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A Thousand Splendid Suns By Khaled Hosseini In Khaled Hosseini s novel, A Thousand Splendid Suns, women live in an oppressive, discriminatory Afghan society in which they are deemed useless and obtain little to no rights, yet still manage to endure the burden that falls upon them. After the immensely false interpretations of her father and the bitter fatality of her mother, Mariam s father demands she marries a stranger considerably older than her at the age of fifteen. Rasheed prays daily in hopes for Laila to produce a male offspring and is exceedingly unappreciative and disrespectful when Laila produces a female instead. Rasheed and the Taliban claim it is extremely blasphemous and embarrassing for a married Afghan woman to look directly into a man s eyes, wear makeup, or display her knees so Rasheed asserts Mariam and Laila wear burqas. Women s diminished rights and limited input in society is evident when youthful Mariam unwillingly marries an outright stranger because her father and wives demands she do so. Mariam is in absolute disbelief when Jalil s wives instruct her to marry a forty five year old man immediately while Jalil watches speechlessly and approves of the arranged, instant, forced marriage. • 11. Marigolds By Eugenia W. Collier In Marigolds, Eugenia W. Collier describes a young girl that came to understand the dire financial situation her family was in to illustrate the loss of innocence. Lizabeth thinks that she was living a perfect life, but she soon finds that it was just a fantasy that she herself concocted. Collier uses ordinary symbols, a simple title, and a descriptive style to get across her message that everyone needs to have hope despite how powerless they are. In the plot of Marigolds, Collier describes Lizabeth, a girl born into poverty who is unaware of the hardship surrounding her and her family. One summer day, Lizabeth and her friends taunt Miss Lottie by throwing pebbles at her and her marigolds. Miss Lottie and her son, John Burke chase the kids away. Afterwards, all of the kids gather around to celebrate their latest escapade, everyone except Lizabeth. She and her brother head home and sleep until Lizabeth wakes up from hearing her father cry. That was the moment she realized that she and the other kids were living a lie. Collier uses Lizabeth, the main character in Marigolds, in order to portray the loss of hope, and how one cannot have both hope and innocence. Lizabeth is a young girl who at the beginning of the story is naïve and goes about her life as if nothing was wrong, but she soon undergoes a transformation every child goes through;growing into adulthood. During this process, Lizabeth becomes aware of the poverty stricken life that she was born into. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Inattention is said to manifest though behaviours such as wandering off and difficulty in maintaining focus. Firstly, the position in favour of the change will be considered, and in particular the similarity between fully diagnosed ADHD subjects and late onset ADHD subjects. The position against the change will look at the issue from a biological standpoint arguing that raising the age of onset to 12 years may not necessarily capture ADHD in individuals; but rather, biological changes as a result of puberty. According to the DSM 5, an age earlier than 12 was not selected to be part of the requirement for the diagnosis due to the difficulty for adults to establish precise childhood onset retrospectively (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). Changes to the age of onset to before 12 years old is justified, in part, by the similarity between fully diagnosed ADHD subjects and late onset ADHD subjects. A study by Applegate et al. (1997) compared a sample of youth who met the criteria for ADHD and displayed impairment before the age of 7, with youth who met the criteria but did not display impairment. They found that the age of onset varied depending on the ADHD subtype. 18% of combined subtype and 43% of the predominantly inattentive subtype had no manifestation until after they were 7 years old. This brings into question the validity of the DSM 4 s definition of the age of onset. Another study by Faraone et al. No matter how qualified parents are, homeschooled children have proven to excel academically. Also, homeschooling allows children to learn at their own pace. Every curriculum is designed for a specific child. Individualized learning allows all children s needs to be met. I don t know what you think should be done differently in fulfilling this 5 page executive summary with four sources which is what the instructions for this assignment stipulate, and which is what I wrote and included. Thanks. The principle way for any business to establish trust and rapport with customers is through peer related interactions. Quite simply, customers do not believe information provided to them by watchdog organizations or by company overviews and documentation boasting about their products and services. They do, however, believe and trust their relationships with their peers. Once their peers can provide information and recommendations about an organization, people are substantially more likely to utilize its products and services. Trust also plays an integral role in the principle method of revenue collection for an online entity. There is evidence that suggests that the best way of pursuing this goal, once there is a degree of trust between customers and a business, is through credit cards. It is worth noting that Elsa Entrepreneur s odds for increasing her business s propensity for exploiting peer relationships and credit card usage is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 24. The Value Of Loyalty In The Odyssey By Homer Loyalty is one of the important factors that influences people because loyalty provides stability for any long lasting relationship. In The Odyssey, an epic poem by Homer, Penelope shows us the value of loyalty because she is hopeful that her husband will come back, and she does not want to marry anyone who is not him. Penelope is a good example of loyalty in The Odyssey because she proves her loyalty several times. When Odysseus is gone suitors began to throw themselves at her, and they would do anything to get to marry her. Since she was a queen, Penelope would have been expected to marry after her spouce died but she stayed true to her husband, Odysseus, by coming up with excuses not to marry the suitors until she knew for sure that he was dead. To avoid choosing a suitor to marry she said that she would chose a husband as soon as she finished weaving a shroud for her father in law, Laertes, even though he was not sick or ready to die yet. Everyday she would show them the progress that she had made weaving the shroud, but every night before she went to bed she would unweave all of her work and start over the next day so that the shroud would never be finished. Her very words,/ and despite our pride and passion we believed her./ So by day she d weave at her great and growing web / by night, by the light of the torches set beside her,/ she would unravel all she d done. The diversity of its people coupled with their ability to adapt and tolerate new ideas has created a fusion of traditional and modern. Filipinos pride themselves in their Sociability, religious belief, and Family oriented lifestyle. Social Aspects Filipino culture focuses heavily on social interaction and although many Filipinos are aware of western social norms and are tolerant of social miscues that would be rather damaging in other conservative cultures. Although there are many western aspects to Filipino social behaviors it is in many respects entirely different. For example teasing is a viable and acceptable form of social interaction and is used in many aspects to draw attention to a serious issue without shaming the involved parties. In addition, direct eye contact with a Filipino is discouraged as it implies aggression and malevolence. Employer relations with their employees is considered a very important topic. Disagreements such as the division of territory, the dispute over Jerusalem, Security and Refugee arrangements arose in the negotiations. However, most of the criticism for the failure at Camp David Summit was not pressed on toward the disagreement, it was pressed on Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat. In this paper, it will mention about blaming Arafat, disagreement on the right of return , Disagreement on Land swap, and disagreement on the proposed map as the reason for the failure at Camp David Summit. Most of the criticism for the failure at Camp David negotiations was pressed on the Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat. He was the main reason that the summit failed. In Norman G. Norman G. In the formula, K = e ≈ 2.71828 A = Arrhenius constant = Activation Energy RT = Average kinetic energy (Universal gas constant × Temperature in Kelvins) In this experiment, the main focus is placed on the Arrhenius plot, which is derived through the manipulation of the Arrhenius equation to remove its exponential form by taking the natural log of both sides of the equation which forms lnk=lnA E_A/RT A ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This topic appealed to me, as it seemed like a sound concept in theory, but could not find any discussion based on using the Arrhenius plot for physical processes. BACKGROUND INFORMATION 2.1 Sublimation; an endothermic process Sublimation is the term describing the transition of a substance from the solid phase to the gas phase without passing through an intermediary liquid phase. (Anne Marie Helmenstine 2014a) It is a physical change of state, which occurs at temperatures and pressures below the triple point of the substance, the point where the temperature and pressure causes the 3 phases: solid, liquid and vapour, of a single component system to be in equilibrium. (Blackwell Scientific Publications Oxford 1997) This definition shows that sublimation is a purely physical process; so a substance does not undergo a chemical reaction during sublimation. This diagram represents a typical endothermic reaction: Fig. 2: Endothermic reaction enthalpy change (hferrier n.d.) As displayed in figure 2, a substance requires kinetic energy greater or equal to its activation energy in order for it to change from its initial form to its product. The activation energy shown is one of the pathways that a reaction takes with respect to the pressure that it is subjected to. Consider that for a substance to change from its solid phase to its gas phase the bonds are all fixed in a position and when the particles have enough energy, they are able to ... In the paracortex of lymph node, a dendritic cell interacts with lymphocytes, such as T cells presenting antigens for further processing by the adaptive immune system. 4.1.1.2 PAMP, Danger, Safe and Inflammation Signals The Danger Model holds that the maturation of dendritic cells is controlled by signaling molecules named Pathogen Associated Molecular Pattern (PAMP), danger, safe and inflammation signals found in the surrounding tissue. Tissues experiencing stress or damage emit danger signals while healthy, unstressed tissues emit safe signals. Some molecular patterns commonly found along with bacteria and other pathogens also act as danger signals. Sufficient stimulus by danger signals causes dendritic cells to become fully mature. This causes them to express signaling molecules that indicate the antigens they present were found in a dangerous environment. Mature dendritic cells promote immune reactions to ... • 35. Describe The Importance Of The Colosseum The Colosseum Koch, Matt Do you know what one of the most important structures to mankind history is? The Colosseum. The importance of the Colosseum, otherwise known originally as the Flavian Amphitheatre, was that many of the materials, styles, and architecture were inspiring to many architects and designers constructing today s modern facilities and structures. The emperor of Rome at the time, Vespasian, began building the Colosseum (Flavian Amphitheatre) in 72 AD. They believed that in ancient Rome the patron was more noble and loyal than the architects, and the architects were just craftsmen and hired hands (Woog, 2014). So as of today the designers and architects are unknown to the world, and will probably never be found out about because if limited evidence. Floor plans, 3 dimensional scale models, perspective drawings, and full size design sketches are what were used by the anonymous architects and designers of the Colosseum (Hopkins, 2011). The site of construction was formerly known as the Golden House, owned and lived in by Nero the Emperor. This was drained and as a precaution against potential earthquake damage concrete foundations six metres deep were put down to support it (Cartwright, 2012). And eight long years of hard work and design later the Colosseum (Flavian Amphitheatre) was completed in 80 CE. There were many materials mixed in the project of constructing the Colosseum (Flavian Amphitheatre). The walls of the Colosseum were built with stone. They made use of a number of arches in order to keep the weight down, but yet still keep them strong (Cartwright, 2012). The floor of the Colosseum was wooden and usually covered in sand most of the time. But the floor was taken out due to heavy weathering in 1674 AD. And about 19 miles outside of Rome in a little town of Tivoli were quarries where the Romans mined there stone blocks out of to construct the walls of the Colosseum. Some other material they had used to construct the colosseum include, limestone brick, concrete and volcanic stone (otherwise known as tufa ), pumice stone.
