Essay On Media Image Of Women
Everywhere you turn society is being presented with images of perfection, beauty, or sexuality. Some
of these images represent unrealistic or unreachable expectations and can be truly harmful. It is
common to see women exploited in reality TV shows and music videos. Young women are also
influenced by the images that they see in commercials, billboards, internet sites, and movies. These
images serve to harm a woman s self confidence and also are affecting their overall health. Today s
mass media messages are having a negative effect on how women perceive themselves. I would like to
propose a project which involves analyzing several women, of many different age groups, across their
lifespan while testing how much the media affects their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The third and last theory is called Bandura s social cognitive theory. This theory assumes that people
model and learn from the behaviors of attractive individuals. Women want to emulate the body images
of the thin attractive models through dieting. Eventually, negative effects result from this such as
anorexia and bulimia. After the theories were described, the article states that thirty four studies were
conducted. Thirteen out of the thirty four studies were surveys and twenty one of the studies were
experiments. The media was measured and recorded for all studies with the categories ranging from
magazines and photos, to movies and television shows. Ten studies were measured by exposure from
fitness and fashion magazines. Seventeen studies were examined using a photo measure. Typically, the
photo measure consisted of advertisements with thin woman. Three studies used a general mass media
measure, which measured general media use. One study included a movie measure and another
included a computer measure. The analysis implies that there is a relationship between body image
and media, but the relationship is minute. The article says that one reason why some woman may not
compare themselves to the thin woman in the images is because they are constantly exposed. Finally,
the article concludes by stating that a manipulation of exposure length, outcome measures, and

In her review, Claudia was basically focused on how the movie was based on racism and that in this

because of all issues that were going on with the civil rights at the time and how their services as

London Research Paper
Have you ever wondered how London and all the beautiful buildings in London came to be?
Beginning with the main history of London, continuing with famous buildings and ending with
famous people from London, this paper will explain some of London s very interesting history.
The name of London came from the Celtic word Londinios, which means the place of the bold one
(Lambert). During the course of the fourth century, Roman empire began to collapse and Christianity
was introduced to the city, but some inhabitants were starting to leave from the city because they did
not wanted to be part of this religion ( Cody). Although this was the beginning of how London started,
there is more to be told about this city s history during the middle ages. When William the Conqueror
took possession of the royal palace at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Tower of London is one of the world s most famous fortresses ( The london pass ). The Tower of
London served as a royal palace for the royal family until the 17th century. Also, during the Middle
ages, the Tower of London became a prison and a place of execution (Britannica). Another famous
building is the Westminster Abbey. The Westminster Abbey is a Gothic church with a heritage site that
is popular with many visitors ( London Pass ). Edward the confessor established it as the home of the
royal government and it has been the site of every coronation and royal burial for close to 500 years,
and draws thousands of visitors every year ( Rich). The Eye of London is also another famous
building. This building opened to the public in 2010 ( Lambert). Sponsors described such a feat as one
of the most challenging and exciting construction projects ever seen in the UK . It is also hoped for the
Eye of London to become the symbol of London at the turn of the millennium ( Quinn). Not only is
London home of historically famous buildings, but, also, was the home to famous

Persuasive Essay On The Benefits Of Staying Healthy
Staying Healthy
Doing anything new to your body runs (get it?) the risk of energy. But do not let that discourage you,
even if you never complete a marathon, training for it has enormous benefits for your health and if
done right, can be a great way to achieve a healthy life style. Of course though, you want to stay
healthy.
While nothing you do will 100% protect you from injury, there are many steps you can take to reduce
the risk. First, avoid doing too much too soon. If you have never ran more than 15 miles a week in
your life, don t start with a training plan that has you doing 30. Also, avoid plans that have you jump
to high mileage very quickly, remember the 10% rule mentioned earlier.
Second, avoid doing multiple hard days in a row, each hard day should be followed by an easy day. In
marathon training as with all other types of physical training, your body needs time to recover, not just
so you feel better, but to absorb all the benefits of the hard work you put in. Without recovery days,
you are wasting your own hard work.
Third, training for a marathon should not solely involve running. To be a successful runner, take a
couple leaves out of the books of the elites. Pick up a foam roller and a stretching band from your
local running store, learn how to use them, and use them repeatedly. Ideally you stretch
comprehensively after every run and also do a light stretch when you wake up and before you go to
bed. This will go a long way to keeping you healthy.

The book was okay, not bad but not amazing either. I can imagine that there are better books for
children that can better showcase aspects of Mexican culture. At one point in the book, the zócalo is
introduced, which is a plaza in Mexico City, Mexico. This was an interesting part, but the book does
not explain what the zócalo is, I found this out through looking up the word. Based on the zócalo

Mozart Vs Saliy
Wolfgang Mozart and Antonio Salieri are arguably two sides of the same coin and certainly foils.
While Mozart embraces humanity and its flaws, Salieri shuns it, believing God s grace and musical
talent is all he needs. Amadeus is tired of gods and heroes, common to Italian operas, and doesn t want
a conventional job, believing all serious operas written in [the 18th] century are boring (Shaffer 2001,
69). Instead, he would rather compose operas about life and love and in harems, and insults Italians
and their art multiple times. Additionally, the personalities of Salieri and Mozart vastly contrast.
Mozart is generally unlikeable loud, immature, intolerable, and self centered while Salieri appears to
be quite the opposite likeable, composed, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Integrating themes of jealousy, fate, bargaining with God, mediocrity, and genius, Peter Shaffer
depicted fictional accounts of Mozart and Salieri in an extraordinary tale, humanizing Mozart s god
like image. Furthermore, he calls attention to the role ordinary citizens and society plays in carrying
on this image throughout time, as true recognition of Amadeus s talent came only after his tragic
death, despite its criticism of him in life. While the play is certainly not fictional, its value lies in its
uncovering of the complexities behind genius and Mozart, allowing the audience to peak into his life
and understand him for the man he

Emily Dickinson And The Village Blacksmith
The Village Blacksmith is a poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. This poem is about an honest,
hardworking blacksmith who provides for his family by working long hours at the forge. And the
message of the poem is through your life you will eventually change the world by the things you do,
and you make your mark on the world by looking hard every day. There is a Certain Slant of Light is a
poem by Emily Dickinson. In the poem it describes the feeling of hurt and oppression ironically using
light as the instrument of hurting. Throughout this essay I will be explaining and going into detail of
the literary elements found in each individually, but also found in both of these poems. The Village
Blacksmith is a poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The literary elements that i will be talking about are, enjambment, the theme of death and elision.
Firstly enjambment is seen more than once throughout the duration of the poem. Dickinson says,
Heavenly Hurt, it gives us/We can find no scar, (Dickinson, 5 6) during that part of the poem she uses
enjambment to create a dramatic pause, to show that it is not an actual physical scar, but a mental one
caused by, Heavenly Hurt . As with The Village Blacksmith, in A certain Slant of Light there us a
common theme of death throughout both. This theme is seen when Dickinson says, When it goes, tis
like the Distance/On the look of Death Dissimilar to the theme within The Village Blacksmith, the
message of the theme of death is different because of using death as an object rather than a process
that someone undergoes. Rather than using death as something that the blacksmith dealt with, A
certain Slant of Light personifies death as an entity that is being described as having a distant look.
Lastly, elision is the final literary technique i will be talking about. The quote i will be using to
demonstrate the use of elision says, Tis the seal Despair (Dickinson, 10) In this quote, the use of the
word Tis shows the use of elision by shortening and combining the words it and is . I think the reason
that Dickinson did this is because the use of shortened words was more common in the time period
when it was written. I believe that Emily Dickinson s use of literary devices was able to deliver
different messages, and things to think about while reading this

World War 1 Alliance System Essay
World War One was a devastating war, killing millions between the years 1914 and 1918. It is to a
considerable extent that the alliance system was the main cause of World War One as it dramatically
turned a conflict from being regional to global, resulting in a World War. Similarly, the blank cheque
supplied Austria Hungary with the confidence needed for them to declare war. Other factors such as
nationalism were partly responsible as this caused Archduke Franz Ferdinand to be assassinated, and
begin the July Crisis.
It is to a considerable extent that the alliance system was the main cause of World War One as it
dramatically turned a conflict from being regional to global, resulting in a World War. Originally, the
feud started with two opposing countries, which had been brewing for years. When the July Crisis
came about, the alliance system started. This led to conflict between several European nations and
divided Europe into two opposing sides. If there were no alliances created, the conflict between the

win. By being in alliance with Germany this gave them confidence and self assurance. If it wasn t for
the Blank Cheque and alliance system, Austria Hungary might not have ever declared war. Therefore,

Investigating Flat Planes
Turns out there is a fairly straight forward way to prove conclusively that we do not live on a flat
plane. Simply pick a line of longitude (along which everyone will experience high noon at the same
time, doesn t have to be one perfect line of latitude but each person should measure at high noon on
the same day) and measure the length of the sun s shadow at several points of latitude from directly
under the sun to as far North as you can (must have at least one measurement that is above 75°).
Requirements For Experiment
All the sticks should, of course, be very close to exactly the same length (recommend 2 to 5 meters). I
used 5 meters in my example, taller is better.
The sticks should be placed absolutely plumb (straight up and down). They cannot lean in any
direction.
The terrain upon which the shadow ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You can try it out using the PlanetCalc Shadow Length calculator
And now all you have to do is personally verify that this calculator gives you fairly accurate results for
the shadow lengths (I have) and you can be certain that the plane of the Earth simply cannot be flat.
ON A FLAT PLANE
Now let s compare the expected values above with those on a flat plane, which turns out to be trivial
mathematically we don t even need a calculator. We just need to calculate the following:
slope = (distance to sun / distance to stick) length of shadow = (height of stick / slope)
To get this formula we just have to think about two right triangles, using the slope of the first one to
figure out the length of the adjacent side of the second one (height/slope).
Our first right triangle is the one from a point directly under the sun at the top of our stick, over to our
next stick, say at 10° latitude, which is 1109472m for every 10°s latitude and then up to the sun,
finally back down to where we started. Let s assume the sun is ~4000 miles away or

Flight 800 Research Papers
We all get a little scared when we step on to a plane. All we want is to get from destination to the other
without any complications. Four hundred and and sixty nine people probably wanted the same thing.
In 1996 twohundred and thirty people died on a flight that exploded a few minutes after taking off. In
2014 twohundred and thirtynine are presumed dead on a flight that is still missing to this day. So the
question is what really happened to these flights? In 1996 Trans World Airlines flight 800 was in route

An air traffic controler shares what he saw on that day in 1996 I thought it was a landing light, but
then it headed straight for the plan, and then the plane blew. (Nita Hiltner). James Sanders, the author
of the The Downing Of TWA flight 800, has spent the last 18 years investigating this event, he
recently announced that the flight was brought down accidentally by two missiles fired from a Navy
Vessel and/or submarine that were in the area to intercept a smaller plane involved in a plot to bring
down the commercial flight . A cover up by the FBI and the NTSB (National Transportation Safety
Board) was extensive, involving intimidation of witnesses and investigators, tampering with evidence,
false testimony before Congress, censoring reports, and numerous violations of protocols. Some of the
government s own official investigators said that the explosions occurred outside the airplane. They
were permitted to testify with that evidence. A piece of metal from a destroyed or missing plane can
tell a big story. Early last year detectives were brought to the attention of a piece of scrap washed up

On How the Artists of the Romantic Period Chose to React...
Throughout this assignment we will be taking a look at how artists during the Romantic period, that
took place around the 18th and 19th centuries, choose to react against the approaches and philosophy
established by artist during the age of Enlightenment. We will take a look at a few obviously Romantic
artworks to help us better our understanding of this fascinating movement.
To understand how Romanticism has rejected, or reacted to, the Enlightenment, we first need to take a
look at what artists believed during the Enlightenment era. According to Fred S. Kleiner, the
Enlightenment, which took place during the first part of 18th century, brought with it a new way of

they painted and for who. Artist now had to produce art that were liked by the masses, as they

Before looking at artworks from Henri Fuselli, Théodore Géricault and William Turner, we will first
take a look at the roots and origins of the romantic period. Romanticism was born when the Industrial
revolution had already been in full force over most of europe. The industrial boom and the synthetic,
man made landscapes that came with it, had major influences on the romantic world. Romanticism
gave them a taste for the natural, the foreign (exotic), and the emotional, according to Paul Brians
(Public.wsu.edu,1998). Romantics, unlike Neoclassical artist of the previous age, choose to shift the
emphasis from reason to feeling, from calculation to intuition and from objective nature to subjective
emotion according to Fred S. Kleiner (Fred S. Kleiner Gardner s, Art through the Ages,2013,pg 762).
Romantic artist were very interested in what the previous ages saw as The Black Ages. Romantic artist
saw beauty in this and choose to refer to it as Gothic Romance. In simpler terms one can say that they
were interested in the Middle Ages as a choice of subject matter, according to Paul Brains

The Classification Of Water Imagery Present Throughout...
Shakespeare is renowned for his vividly descriptive, original, and pioneering use of imagery in many
of his plays, but their effect on the audience s understanding of his plays is most obvious in the
tragedies, particularly in Macbeth. Images in Shakespeare s works are used, according to Shakespeare
critic G. Wilson Knight, to craft a play s atmosphere or the permeating tone or mood of a play (3).
However, this attitude between images and atmosphere creates an environment where different
definitions of images contribute to different interpretations of the subjective atmosphere that is born
out of each individual reader s perception of the play. Because of this discrepancy, a strict definition of
the term image should be observed. The term image will refer to physical objects or actions that are
used by Shakespeare to clarify broad themes and character insights throughout the play. Specifically,
the classification of water imagery present throughout Macbeth will be discussed broadly to include
descriptions of rain, water, and the act of cleansing with water, whether or not they are real or
imagined by the characters. Shakespeare uses all of these images to create an atmosphere that
highlights Macbeth and Lady Macbeth s guilt and their subsequent desire to purify their tainted
moralities. In addition to this, Macbeth will be interpreted through the lens of correcting chaos into
order. This righting of natural order is brought forth by the rainstorms of the witches to

Did Jesus Deserve To Die Essay
Jesus was the man who claimed to be the Son of God. He lived a long, long time ago. Many scholars

through the Holy Spirit. Nobody knows exactly what Jesus looked like because there was no pictorial
evidence from his time to show what he looked like. In lots of present time pictures of Jesus, he has
long brown hair with brown eyes and a tanned skin. In my eyes Jesus had hazelnut brown hair with
the blue eyes. He also may have had a tanned skin because he lived in Israel which is a very hot
country though when he went to heaven my view changes a bit. I think when Jesus went to heaven he
had a pale skin colour like God and that it wasn t just lights shining on him. He may have looked like
an ordinary man but he turned the impossible possible. When he was alive he did many great things
but many people didn t like this. My question is did Jesus deserve to die?
Jesus did many great miracles but not everyone accepted what he did. The reason why Jesus

How The Maya Civilization Was A Major Social Entity From...
Mesoamerica Essay The Maya civilization was a major social entity from approximately 2600 B.C.E.
to 1521 C.E. The Maya civilization was never a fully unified society; it was primarily made up of
numerous small states, in and around what is now known as the Yucatan Peninsula. These states, each
apparently centered on a city, were ruled by individual kings. Sometimes, a stronger Maya state would
dominate a weaker state and be able to exact tribute and labor from it. The development of agriculture
gave rise to villages which eventually developed into larger and more complex societies. These
became city states that were tied together by trade. (1, 4) The basic staples of the Maya diet were
maize, beans, and squashes. These were supplemented ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(2) Mayan architecture incorporated various forms of art and hieroglyphs. Pyramid temples devoted to
their many deities, royal palaces, and ball courts were the most elaborate structures. Architectural
styles varied by region, and were influenced by locally available construction materials, climate,
topography, and the preferences of the ruling class and commoners. (3) Warfare was prevalent in the
Maya world. Military campaigns were launched for a variety of reasons, including the control of trade
routes and tribute, raids to capture enemies for religious rituals, up to the annihilation of an enemy
state. Little is known about Maya military organization, logistics, or training. Warfare is depicted in
Maya art, and tales of battle are mentioned in hieroglyphic inscriptions. Unfortunately, the inscriptions

and drought are believed to have been the beginning of the downfall of the Mayan people. When the
Spanish arrived led by Hernan Cortes in 1521 C.E. in Central America, the diseases they brought,
including smallpox, decimated the Mayan population. In addition to spreading fatal disease, the
Spanish forced the Maya to convert to their religion, namely Christianity. The Spanish even destroyed
the Mayan literature, which is the reason that so little of their writings are

The Pros And Cons Of Personal Privacy
In this paper I will analyze the interpretations of privacy and personal liberty employed by the rulings
of United States Supreme Court cases such as Griswold v. Connecticut, Roe v. Wade, and Planned
Parenthood v. Casey, and propose a notion of privacy and personal liberty that strikes an ideal balance
between individual autonomy and the interest of the state. In Griswold v. Connecticut, the leadership
of Planned Parenthood were convicted of violating a Connecticut statute which prohibited the use of
any drug or article to prevent conception because they provided information on contraception and
prescribed a contraceptive device for use by the wife of a married couple. The United States Supreme
Court ruled that the Connecticut statute was unconstitutional.1 The court reasoned that the relatively
vague nature of several constitutional amendments left room for the implicit establishment of a
broader range of rights and protections than those which are more explicitly mentioned in the text of
each amendment. Several justices drew from a number of different amendments to support their final
ruling including the self incrimination clause of the fifth amendment, the ninth amendment, and the
due process clause of the fourteenth amendment. The key effect of this ruling was that the Supreme
Court established an explicit reference to an individual s constitutional right to privacy and it
functionally pitted that right against the interest of the state. In this case, the Supreme Court

Just prior to the Civil War, Maryland was a southern slave state, and during the war, they became part
of the union but still kept slavery legal. The Pro southern sentiment led to the Baltimore riot of 1861,
when Union soldiers marched through the city. After the riot Union troops occupied Baltimore, and
the whole state of Maryland came under direct federal administration until the end of the war in 1865.
This was a very vital move by the union because they did not want Washington, D.C. to become
completely surrounded by seceded Confederate territory. The case Ex parte Merryman, written by the
Supreme Court Chief Justice Roger Taney, dealt with the habeas corpus rights of Marylanders jailed
by the Abraham Lincoln Administration and strongly reprimanded Lincoln for his actions. Baltimore s
overseas trade was principally with the Caribbean Islands and South America, regions undergoing
economic and social changes. At the same time, the American frontier was pushing even farther west,
threatening to leave Baltimore behind in its economic wake. The State of Maryland concentrated its
efforts on completing the Chesapeake Ohio Canal, designed to link the Potomac and Ohio River
valleys, but the city of Baltimore supported an overland link in the form of the Baltimore Ohio

Puritan Punishment Essay
After strange and unbelievable experiences in my dungeon for two years, the unexpected adventures at
the swinger s club, and being a call girl for women in 1981, I thought I had seen and experienced most
of the best and the worst. Oddly, I never gave a second thought to Puritan punishment existing in the
United States today. It was brought to my attention in the summer of 1982 when, one stifling hot day
in August, I found out the hard way. Puritan punishment was the law in seventeenth century colonial
America before jail became popular. Forms of humiliation were thought to be more effective than
other forms of emotional or physical pain, and my first hand experience in Tallahassee, FL, confirmed
that. My humiliation experience with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
New Orleans! Driving through Mississippi, the Deep South was a story in and of itself. When we
stopped at a roadside diner to get lunch, I felt it necessary to carry my weapon into the restaurant. I
chose a table by the window so I could keep tabs on the Corvette. Not ten minutes into our meal,
several curious admirers surrounded my car. They were scratching and shaking their heads as though
they had never seen a flashy sports car before. But I was more startled when we got back on the road
to see a truck full of country folk following as close as they could to my car, taking as many photos as
their cameras would permit. We were evidently the Saturday afternoon news and amusement attraction
in Mississippi. After driving endlessly past plantation fields and numerous weather beaten shanties, I
was relieved to arrive in New Orleans! We stayed in the city of jazz and soul music for three days and
three nights right in the middle of Bourbon Street in the famous French Quarter where we enjoyed the
fantastic nightclub hot spots, great food, spirits and antique stores. I will always love trips to New
Orleans. It s my favorite party town. After departing from the French Quarter, we headed north to
Biloxi, Mississippi, east through Mobile, Alabama and out onto Florida s long, desolate and boring
country highway into the panhandle and past Pensacola. On the drive home, I started feeling a lot of
nervous anxiety. I was suddenly

Why Is Julius Caesar Wrong
The murder of Julius Caesar, in Shakespeare s Julius Caesar, is one of the greatest tragedies ever
preformed in Drama. In the play, Caesar is unjustly killed by a group of conspirators, despite there
being no good cause for them to do it. These Conspirators make meager claims as to why Caesar must
die, but in the end these are only poor excuses that the conspirators are trying to use to justify doing a
terrible deed out envy and for self gain. Their murder of Julius Caesar was completely unwarranted,
and they deserve to be thought of as villains and murderers. One of main reasons why The
conspirators were so wrong to kill Caesar, is the fact that they kill him not based on who he was, but
in fear of who he may become. In Brutus famous soliloquy

Scheduling Manufacturing Operations
ABSTRACT
Without true finite capacity scheduling, any implementation for manufacturing execution, whether it is
ERP, SCM, or MES, cannot realize the goal of enterprise efficiency and agility. All aspects of OM for
manufacturing execution fall behind the lead of FCS, which is the bridge between planning and
execution. Real tangible return on assets rests with FCS.
INTRODUCTION
Integrating a diverse collection of resources to accomplish a goal is an issue that has faced humankind
since the first city arose and food and services needed to be provided to the populace. The modern
challenge for operations management (OM) is the speed and volume that data is presented to OM
systems. This explosion of data holds the promise of efficiency ... Show more content on

WHAT WAS OLD IS NEW AGAIN
As mentioned in the introduction, operations management has been, and remains, one of the greatest
organizational challenges throughout history. OM arises from the need to coordinate diverse resources
to meet the needs of a complex system. The concept of the plan execute control model, a discovery
made by analysts in the late 1990 s, appears in the historical records of systems management, one of
the earliest mentions circa 4th century BC in China. One of the more versatile models in modern
systems management appeared in 1977 as a result of a joint effort between Dr J.S. Lawson of the
Naval Electronic Systems Command and Dr. Paul Moore of the Naval Postgraduate School. Figure 2
shows the Lawson Moore model, adapted by the author for general resource management.
SENSE is the collection of raw data or other collateral information about the observed environment.
PROCESS takes the data through the inference hierarchy, integrating data within the context of the
tasks required of the managed resources. The situation as best can be determined with the resources is
then compared to the DESIRED STATE. The DESIRED STATE is the result of planning, which drives
the allocation of resources to tasks. The plan exists in generalities, except for enterprises where goals
are achieved with simple tasks assigned to few or

I Corinthians 5:5
To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the

Satan is working in the life of a man that married his father s wife (incest, v.1). When Satan brings a
person down, he is not satisfied in stopping there but goes about to bring as much destruction as
possible. In the Corinthian church, he is working with the church members, as they seem to accept this
sin, rather than excommunicate him from the church. Though Biblical, most churches today do not

Negative Effects Of Music Essay
Kristian David Olson once said, Music is an important and extremely useful tool in the way we learn
and to deny its power is a waste of a truly wonderful resource. Indeed, music is one of the most
powerful forms of influence and has not failed to impact society at any age. Music is one of the oldest
art forms to impact culture and has been around before anyone can remember. On average, people
listen to hours of music a day, whether as background noise or as an enjoyable activity. Therefore, it is
not surprising the impact music has made on society. Music has been an influential force for how
humans think, act, and even positively affecting our intelligence. Music speaks to the soul and that is
why it is so influential to culture. Therefore, music has affected the lives of everyone in one way or
another and how they have become. Music plays an important role to all ages and makes life better for
them. It is known to help with health and mental health, intelligence social interactions, and even has
positive effects on the brain. However, to every good side there is a bad side, including music which
involves vulgar lyrics about violence, explicit content, drug use, and music videos with negative
impacts.
Moreover, because of musics great influence, it can also cause negative impacts on society. Drugs,
sex, alcohol, and violence are more commonly heard in songs today than they have before. Rap music
is a common genre where those explicit lyrics about racism, violence, homophobia, sexual language,
and hatred towards women take place. For instance, from the band Immortal Technique an extremely
violent lyric from their song Dance with the Devil read The shirt covered her face, but she screamed
and clawed/ So Billy stomped on the b***h, until he broke her jaw (Ettelson). The lyric goes on in
detail of how the guy in the song, Billy, killed this innocent woman by beating her to death to
demonstrate how heartless he was so that he could move up in the drug game. Another song about
brutally abusing a woman would be The Convicts f/ Choices song called Whoop Her A** where a
lyric reads Slammed her to the flo and s**t/ Then started beatin the b***h with a solid wood clobber
stick/ (Ettelson). The lyric goes on

The Ever-Reliable Chimney Starter
4. The Ever Reliable Chimney Starter
A chimney starter or a charcoal chimney is a cylindrical device constructed out of steel. It can vary in
size depending on the model and the manufacturer, but most of the ones we see are about 6in to 8in in
diameter.
It has a space at the bottom where you are supposed to start your fire. You can access this through
holes surrounding the bottom of the cylinder.
As the name suggests, the chimney starter works pretty much like a portable fireplace. Crumple a few
pages of a newspaper and stuff them inside the bottom of the cylinder and fill the top with charcoal.
Then, light the paper in a couple of areas and watch until the coals at the bottom begin to light up. You

Needless to say, it does accomplish the job quickly.
Cons:
Just like when lighting coal using lighter fluid, using self igniting charcoal can be just as harmful if
not used the right way, as manufacturers say. The key is also to let all of the starting fluid get burned
off before starting to grill your food.
To Wrap It All Up
Technology has man s laziness have made it possible for even children to know how to light coal.
Although you now have a lot of options to choose from, it still all boils down to your preferences.
If you are keen enough to tell when your burning coal is already free from the harmful chemicals of
lighter fluids, you may do well with charcoal lighter fluids and self igniting charcoal.
If you are the handy type of person and has the equipment, the protective gear, and the skills to use
dangerous power tools, you may want to try using heat guns or propane torches instead.
An electric starter and a chimney starter, on the other hand, are good options if you are a practical
spender and are very particular about the taste of your

management system has been taken, which plays a critical role in managing the information of the
company. This information system has multiple advantages as it provides clear indication about
centralised information system that keeps all types of sources. This information system helps the
organisation to access the data anytime. This information system also assists the organisation in
solving the data related issues and data redundancy.
In this study, Churchill Car Insurance Company has been chosen as this company requires the
database management system to store the data. This information system may have benefits; however,
maintenance cost leads to the cost increase. This process is not also easy as this can lead to creating
issue in revenue generation in short scale. Moreover, this information system can provide a
competitive edge to the company.

INTRODUCTION Psychodynamic Theory is based on the premise that human behaviour and
relationships are shaped by conscious and unconscious influences and include factors such as internal
processes, personality, motivation and drives, and the importance of childhood experiences. The essay
will discuss and demonstrate the application of dream analysis as a counselling approach and the
personal and technical challenges associated with using the psychoanalytic technique of ‘free

In adults, however, the situation is more complicated as the dreams of adults have been subjected to
distortion, with the dream s so called manifest content ,including the remnants of the previous days
events or thoughts being a heavily disguised derivative of the latent content, dream thoughts present in
the unconscious, consisting of hidden, symbolic and unconscious motives, wishes and fears. The
manifest content of a dream is the actual content of the dream, what actually happened during the
dream. In contrast, the latent content of the dream is the symbolic meaning of the content of the
dream. In order for a counsellor to get to the latent content, the client discusses the dream s manifest
content and is encouraged to free associate about the dream. It then becomes the counsellor’s task
to decipher the dream s latent content through both defense mechanisms that may be present in the
telling of the dream and in the free association about it. There is natural censorship within dreams that
will present when a client talks about the dream, and reservations or repressions that the client
consciously adds into the dream discussion. Each of the repressions and censors must be overcome,
and the counsellor will have to look deep into the content of the discussion to get to the bottom of it.

Women s Economic Opportunities and Health in Brazil
Women s economic opportunities and health in Brazil is affected by many factors.
Brazilian women s economic opportunities are affected by such factors as gender inequality, violence
from men, and racial inequality. Health is affected by reproductive rights, maternal mortality rates,
domestic violence and sexual violence. This paper will examine health and economic opportunities
available to women in the countries of Saudi Arabia, the United States and Brazil.
Brazilian women were over half the population in 1998 at 50.6 percent (Reproductive Rights, 2004).

Brazil s economy has the power to make it a second world country, but its precarious health care

The Quality Of A Person s Relationships With Their...
This research is designed to answer the following question: Does the quality of a person s
relationships with their parents and with their peers influence the extent to which that person engages
in marijuana use? Data for this study come from the [seventh wave of the] National Youth Survey
(NYS). The NYS is a nationally representative, longitudinal survey of 1,725 U.S. youth between the
ages of 11 and 17 at the time of the first interview in early 1977. Respondents were interviewed
annually through 1981 (Waves 1 5) and then again in 1984 (Wave 6) and 1987 (Wave 7). By the last
wave of interviews, respondents were between the ages of 21 and 27 years (King South, 2011, p. 107).
The variables used consisted of two independent variables, Perceived Disapproval by Parents Towards
Deviance and Perceived Disapproval by Peers Towards Deviance, and the dependent variable of

The Pardoner In Chaucer s The Canterbury Tales
Throughout the Canterbury Tales the pardoner shows that he is the vilest character through his tale and
his interactions with others while they make their journey to Canterbury. Not only is it ironic that the
Pardoner seems to be carefree of his sins and absolve himself of every crime without hesitation, but
the lengths he goes to back up his lies are by far extremely questionable. To begin with, although the
Pardoner does his job and gives his indulgences to those who seek forgiveness from him, he does it in
an unjust way. In order for common folks to have their sins pardoned, they are to give him money.
Although generally most would eventually figure out he was lying, he manages to continue to get
them to pay him money by displaying his relics . These holy tokens are said to have come from only

Mergers and Acquisitions
Mergers and Acquisitions In modern business environments, there are increasing dynamics
encouraging firms to utilize mergers and acquisitions to resolve resource. In dynamic business
environments, the value of existing resources is subject to erosion, in some instances fast erosion.
Consequently, firms continuously respond to changing environmental conditions by upgrading their
resources and capabilities via renewal, acquisition, redeployment, and recombination. Mergers and
acquisitions provide firms with a practical tool to close their resource gaps, allowing for a much faster
reconfiguration of the product mix toward high profit products than, for example, internal
development (Eschen and Bresser, 2005). The need for corporate firms to achieve competitive
advantage in a highly competitive global environment has necessitated the implementation of
innovative strategies, one of them being mergers and acquisitions (Rizvi, 2010). Mergers and
acquisitions have become an increasingly popular strategy for achieving corporate growth and
diversification, with the M A activity in the 1990 s smashing all existing records, both in terms of the
number of transactions and the size of the deals. The worldwide value of M A increased from $462

Taking a Look at 3D Printing
Introduction
This essay will convey in depth the definition of 3D printing and how it operates. It will also show
some examples of different types of 3D printing as well as show us how it can be useful in the
industry of business, professional, education and home time. 3D printing can bring some advantages
as well as disadvantages not only to business but also to its employees. Printing this way will become
more common as time goes by and can help the industry limit on human error.
3D movies, holograms and much more have been created so why not have 3D printing. Three
dimensional printing has been extensively used in engineering contexts for more than twenty years.
However, it is only now that 3 D printing has taken the public s interest. With better alterations and
reduced costs over the years, technology has been mainly responsible for this amazing creation of top,

A recent report done by industry consultancy and analysis firm McKinsey Company said that 3D

Environmental Effects Of Acid Rain
Acid rain, simply put, is a mixture of rainwater and a few specific chemicals that are emitted both
naturally and non naturally. The process occurs in the lowest layer of the atmosphere, the troposphere.
When compounds such as sulfuric dioxide(SO2) and nitrogen oxides(NO, NO2), are transported to
this layer and react with the other parts of the troposphere(water, oxygen, carbon dioxide). Acid rain
was first discovered in Sweden in 1872, but has been seen as a more prevalent problem in modern
times. Although research had been conducted for many years on acid rain, it did not become an issue
for society until around the 1980 s. Acid rain s effects were vast, harming natural environments,
architecture, and even the public s health. Regulation of chemical emissions have lessened the threat
of acid rain, yet it remains a problem to this day. A
As previously mentioned, acid rain is caused by the mixture of chemical emissions with the elements
of the troposphere. It s very important to note that water has a natural acidity, it s the excess of oxides
that cause the problem. But how did those emissions and oxides make it there? Naturally, compounds
like carbon dioxide(CO2), nitric oxide(NO), and sulfur dioxide(SO2), are released through just a few
processes: decomposition of organic matter, electric discharge(reactions with lightning and the ozone),
as well as release of gasses in volcanic eruptions. However, these only contribute to the natural acidity
of water. Human

The Impact Of Carbonyl Compounds On The Cardiovascular System
The impact of carbonyl compounds on the cardiovascular system
In addition to nicotine, e cigarettes emit other potentially harmful constituents like carbonyls that
result from thermal degradation of propylene glycol and glycerol; which are the most commonly used
solvents in e liquids [PMCID: PMC5226727]. Several studies reported that aerosols from these
devices contain significant levels of carbonyls, including various aldehydes; such as formaldehyde,
acetaldehyde and acrolein. [PMID: 23467656], [PMID: 24958024]. To this end, although earlier
studies that used first generation e cigarette devices did show that the levels of these constituents are
much lower than those found in tobacco smoking, more recent studies in which newer generations ...

Several animal studies suggested that inhalation of formaldehyde and acetaldehyde has a negative
consequence on the cardiovascular system, either directly or indirectly. Specifically, these studies
showed that formaldehyde exposure altered the heart rate [PMID: 3735804], blood pressure [PMID:
418528], cardiac contractility [PMID: 2342227], cardiac oxidative stress and platelet count (PMID:
24040369). Formaldehyde inhalation also induced bradycardia in animals [PMID: 3735804], and this
effect was found to be mediated by a sympathetic nerve activity (PMID: 3735804). Additionally,
subacute and subchronic inhalation of formaldehyde was associated with cardiac oxidative stress, and
consequently a cardic cells damage (PMID: 16716041). With regards to platelets, it was shown that
the total platelet count significantly increased in mice exposed to formaldehyde gas for 2 weeks (
PMID: 24040369 ); the potential negative consequence of this effect should be considered in the
context of the importance of platelets in maintaining hemostasis, and their role in thrombotic
disorders. As for acetaldehyde, elevated blood pressure and heart rate were reported in animals
following inhalation of variable doses, which could be due to its sympathomimetic effect (PMID:
5071036, PMID: 5681176). It is noteworthy that while the source(s) of formaldehyde and
acetaldehyde in these studies were not from e cigarette vapors, the concentrations used are

Example Of Phonological Awareness
Phonological awareness is the learning of different sounds, words and syllables learnt through
listening and speaking (Gillon, 2004). Phonological awareness is important for children in early
childhood to learn to establish their reading and writing skills (Hill, 2012, 160). The way children
learn phonological awareness is through word play, stretching sounds, repeat ion, rhymes and song
(Hill, 2012, p. 134; Roger Scenter, 2013).Phoneme awareness is a smaller area considered as part of
phonological awareness, phoneme awareness focuses on individual sounds that effect understanding
(Hill, 2012, p. 134). An example of phoneme awareness would be the word cat sound it out as c/, a/
and t/ or the ch sound. Hill (2012, p. 134) states phonological

Essay On Ambulatory Care
Ambulatory care, also known as outpatient care consists of care that is done outside of the hospital
setting. Ambulatory care may be of a specialized nature or not, and patients are usually not going to
stay in the facility overnight. Some examples of ambulatory care include dialysis centers, surgical
center, physicians offices, and outpatient centers. I believe that ambulatory helps by allowing for there
to be mostly patients in the hospital who are severely sick and need constant monitoring. In the first
article titled, Outpatient Palliative Care for Chronic Heart Failure: A Case Series, it is discussed that
outpatient care for the patient with chronic heart failure is still a new subject matter. There is a need
for ambulatory care for the specific patient population which is the chronic heart failure patient, but
there is little knowledge on how to provide them with the care that they need in the outpatient setting.
Some topics that were stated to need more emphasize on so that the client can be treated better is care
coordination, advance care planning, and psychosocial issues. ... Show more content on

The article explained that an increased pressure is placed on the physician to provide all that care that
the client with a chronic illness needs. The conclusion of this article is that there needs to be
maintained investment in primary health care so that those patients with multiple disease can be cared
for without an inflation of chronic conditions as they advance in age. This article displays the need for
outsourcing care of patients to outpatient care. This will affect the care that I provide as a nurse in a
positive way because I believe that as these increased needs get sorted out the care that nurse will be
able to give to the client will increase in

Select Two Leadership Strategies And Theories
Leadership paper
COVER padge
For the paper, you are to select two leadership strategies/theories/models to compare and contrast as to
why they would or would not be representative of effective leadership in the face of organizational
change
Opening para about leadership
Leadership The process of influencing others to accomplish a mission by providing purpose, direction,
and motivation. FM 22 100
Leadership is a dynamic process that calls for constant adaptation in order to be effective. Many great
leaders have many noble things to say about the art of leadership, but the truth is that leadership is
unique to different people. Of course there are some commonalties that apply to most; however it is
most effective to experience each unique situation for one s self. For me, I believe that I have to use
different techniques for different people and another level of complexity for different situations. For
example, under direct fire in a combat situation, I might use a direct style of leadership and that would
work for most people. However, while back in the U.S. were we are safe and doing normal daily
things the best method might be evocative for the same individual. So we see that constant learning
and change is fundamental with leadership. Lastly, I think the most difficult part of leadership is the
understanding that sometimes individuals simply refuse to be led by others. A good leader will never
emit defeat and continue to strive to work with a subordinate.

How Did The Beatles Contribute To The Popularity Of Rock N...
The Beatles were the first British Rock group. Their band consisted of members, John Lennon
(vocals), Paul McCartney (bass guitarist), George Harrison (guitarist), and Ringo Starr (Drummer).
The Beatles performed Rock N Roll and Pop. In 1960, the band formed in Liverpool, England and
were acknowledged as on of the most influential music groups. They became more popular around
1963 with Paul McCartney and John Lennon as primary songwriters. The Beatles laid a foundation for
Rock N Roll in the 60 s. The Beatles manager and producer started recording music which helped
grow their popularity in the United Kingdom. Their first primary hit Love Me Do led to such a great
popularity that they kept recording albums such as Rubber Soul, Abbey Road, and Let It Be. Over
time, The Beatles became the Best Selling Band In History with over 800 million albums sold.
Billboard magazine named them Most Successful Artist of all time in 2017, also stating the fact that
they had 20 number one hits on the top 100. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This album was given negative reviews due to tension that the band was facing between each other.
Let It Be speaks about sadness in the majority of its songs. These songs were written primarily by Paul
McCartney and these songs were written due to violence and wars that were occuring around the
world such as the Vietnam War. Let It Be gave peace like a calm lake on a warm summer day. Let It be
was released about a month after the band s break up. Like other Beatles albums, Let It Be was top of
the charts in the UK and US. The album Let It Be has songs that are as catchy as a football

  • 2. Essay On Media Image Of Women Everywhere you turn society is being presented with images of perfection, beauty, or sexuality. Some of these images represent unrealistic or unreachable expectations and can be truly harmful. It is common to see women exploited in reality TV shows and music videos. Young women are also influenced by the images that they see in commercials, billboards, internet sites, and movies. These images serve to harm a woman s self confidence and also are affecting their overall health. Today s mass media messages are having a negative effect on how women perceive themselves. This theory assumes that people model and learn from the behaviors of attractive individuals. Women want to emulate the body images of the thin attractive models through dieting. Eventually, negative effects result from this such as anorexia and bulimia. After the theories were described, the article states that thirty four studies were conducted. Thirteen out of the thirty four studies were surveys and twenty one of the studies were experiments. The media was measured and recorded for all studies with the categories ranging from magazines and photos, to movies and television shows. Ten studies were measured by exposure from fitness and fashion magazines. Seventeen studies were examined using a photo measure. Typically, the photo measure consisted of advertisements with thin woman. Three studies used a general mass media measure, which measured general media use. One study included a movie measure and another included a computer measure. The analysis implies that there is a relationship between body image and media, but the relationship is minute. The article says that one reason why some woman may not compare themselves to the thin woman in the images is because they are constantly exposed. • 4. London Research Paper Have you ever wondered how London and all the beautiful buildings in London came to be? Beginning with the main history of London, continuing with famous buildings and ending with famous people from London, this paper will explain some of London s very interesting history. The name of London came from the Celtic word Londinios, which means the place of the bold one (Lambert). During the course of the fourth century, Roman empire began to collapse and Christianity was introduced to the city, but some inhabitants were starting to leave from the city because they did not wanted to be part of this religion ( Cody). Although this was the beginning of how London started, there is more to be told about this city s history during the middle ages. When William the Conqueror took possession of the royal palace at ... Edward the confessor established it as the home of the royal government and it has been the site of every coronation and royal burial for close to 500 years, and draws thousands of visitors every year ( Rich). • 5. Persuasive Essay On The Benefits Of Staying Healthy Staying Healthy Doing anything new to your body runs (get it?) the risk of energy. But do not let that discourage you, even if you never complete a marathon, training for it has enormous benefits for your health and if done right, can be a great way to achieve a healthy life style. Of course though, you want to stay healthy. While nothing you do will 100% protect you from injury, there are many steps you can take to reduce the risk. First, avoid doing too much too soon. If you have never ran more than 15 miles a week in your life, don t start with a training plan that has you doing 30. Also, avoid plans that have you jump to high mileage very quickly, remember the 10% rule mentioned earlier. Second, avoid doing multiple hard days in a row, each hard day should be followed by an easy day. In marathon training as with all other types of physical training, your body needs time to recover, not just so you feel better, but to absorb all the benefits of the hard work you put in. Without recovery days, you are wasting your own hard work. Third, training for a marathon should not solely involve running. To be a successful runner, take a couple leaves out of the books of the elites. Pick up a foam roller and a stretching band from your local running store, learn how to use them, and use them repeatedly. Ideally you stretch comprehensively after every run and also do a light stretch when you wake up and before you go to bed. This will go a long way to keeping you healthy. ... Throughout this essay I will be explaining and going into detail of the literary elements found in each individually, but also found in both of these poems. The Village Blacksmith is a poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The literary elements that i will be talking about are, enjambment, the theme of death and elision. Firstly enjambment is seen more than once throughout the duration of the poem. Dickinson says, Heavenly Hurt, it gives us/We can find no scar, (Dickinson, 5 6) during that part of the poem she uses enjambment to create a dramatic pause, to show that it is not an actual physical scar, but a mental one caused by, Heavenly Hurt . As with The Village Blacksmith, in A certain Slant of Light there us a common theme of death throughout both. This theme is seen when Dickinson says, When it goes, tis like the Distance/On the look of Death Dissimilar to the theme within The Village Blacksmith, the message of the theme of death is different because of using death as an object rather than a process that someone undergoes. Rather than using death as something that the blacksmith dealt with, A certain Slant of Light personifies death as an entity that is being described as having a distant look. Lastly, elision is the final literary technique i will be talking about. The quote i will be using to demonstrate the use of elision says, Tis the seal Despair (Dickinson, 10) In this quote, the use of the word Tis shows the use of elision by shortening and combining the words it and is . I think the reason that Dickinson did this is because the use of shortened words was more common in the time period when it was written. I believe that Emily Dickinson s use of literary devices was able to deliver different messages, and things to think about while reading this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Simply pick a line of longitude (along which everyone will experience high noon at the same time, doesn t have to be one perfect line of latitude but each person should measure at high noon on the same day) and measure the length of the sun s shadow at several points of latitude from directly under the sun to as far North as you can (must have at least one measurement that is above 75°). We just need to calculate the following: slope = (distance to sun / distance to stick) length of shadow = (height of stick / slope) To get this formula we just have to think about two right triangles, using the slope of the first one to figure out the length of the adjacent side of the second one (height/slope). Our first right triangle is the one from a point directly under the sun at the top of our stick, over to our next stick, say at 10° latitude, which is 1109472m for every 10°s latitude and then up to the sun, finally back down to where we started. We will take a look at a few obviously Romantic artworks to help us better our understanding of this fascinating movement. To understand how Romanticism has rejected, or reacted to, the Enlightenment, we first need to take a look at what artists believed during the Enlightenment era. According to Fred S. Romanticism was born when the Industrial revolution had already been in full force over most of europe. The industrial boom and the synthetic, man made landscapes that came with it, had major influences on the romantic world. • 15. The Classification Of Water Imagery Present Throughout... Shakespeare is renowned for his vividly descriptive, original, and pioneering use of imagery in many of his plays, but their effect on the audience s understanding of his plays is most obvious in the tragedies, particularly in Macbeth. Images in Shakespeare s works are used, according to Shakespeare critic G. Wilson Knight, to craft a play s atmosphere or the permeating tone or mood of a play (3). However, this attitude between images and atmosphere creates an environment where different definitions of images contribute to different interpretations of the subjective atmosphere that is born out of each individual reader s perception of the play. Because of this discrepancy, a strict definition of the term image should be observed. The term image will refer to physical objects or actions that are used by Shakespeare to clarify broad themes and character insights throughout the play. Specifically, the classification of water imagery present throughout Macbeth will be discussed broadly to include descriptions of rain, water, and the act of cleansing with water, whether or not they are real or imagined by the characters. Shakespeare uses all of these images to create an atmosphere that highlights Macbeth and Lady Macbeth s guilt and their subsequent desire to purify their tainted moralities. In addition to this, Macbeth will be interpreted through the lens of correcting chaos into order. This righting of natural order is brought forth by the rainstorms of the witches to ... The Maya civilization was never a fully unified society; it was primarily made up of numerous small states, in and around what is now known as the Yucatan Peninsula. These states, each apparently centered on a city, were ruled by individual kings. Sometimes, a stronger Maya state would dominate a weaker state and be able to exact tribute and labor from it. The Pros And Cons Of Personal Privacy In this paper I will analyze the interpretations of privacy and personal liberty employed by the rulings of United States Supreme Court cases such as Griswold v. Connecticut, Roe v. Wade, and Planned Parenthood v. Casey, and propose a notion of privacy and personal liberty that strikes an ideal balance between individual autonomy and the interest of the state. In Griswold v. Connecticut, the leadership of Planned Parenthood were convicted of violating a Connecticut statute which prohibited the use of any drug or article to prevent conception because they provided information on contraception and prescribed a contraceptive device for use by the wife of a married couple. The United States Supreme Court ruled that the Connecticut statute was unconstitutional.1 The court reasoned that the relatively vague nature of several constitutional amendments left room for the implicit establishment of a broader range of rights and protections than those which are more explicitly mentioned in the text of each amendment. Several justices drew from a number of different amendments to support their final ruling including the self incrimination clause of the fifth amendment, the ninth amendment, and the due process clause of the fourteenth amendment. The key effect of this ruling was that the Supreme Court established an explicit reference to an individual s constitutional right to privacy and it functionally pitted that right against the interest of the state. The Pro southern sentiment led to the Baltimore riot of 1861, when Union soldiers marched through the city. After the riot Union troops occupied Baltimore, and the whole state of Maryland came under direct federal administration until the end of the war in 1865. This was a very vital move by the union because they did not want Washington, D.C. to become completely surrounded by seceded Confederate territory. The case Ex parte Merryman, written by the Supreme Court Chief Justice Roger Taney, dealt with the habeas corpus rights of Marylanders jailed by the Abraham Lincoln Administration and strongly reprimanded Lincoln for his actions. Puritan Punishment Essay After strange and unbelievable experiences in my dungeon for two years, the unexpected adventures at the swinger s club, and being a call girl for women in 1981, I thought I had seen and experienced most of the best and the worst. Oddly, I never gave a second thought to Puritan punishment existing in the United States today. It was brought to my attention in the summer of 1982 when, one stifling hot day in August, I found out the hard way. Puritan punishment was the law in seventeenth century colonial America before jail became popular. In the play, Caesar is unjustly killed by a group of conspirators, despite there being no good cause for them to do it. These Conspirators make meager claims as to why Caesar must die, but in the end these are only poor excuses that the conspirators are trying to use to justify doing a terrible deed out envy and for self gain. Their murder of Julius Caesar was completely unwarranted, and they deserve to be thought of as villains and murderers. One of the more versatile models in modern systems management appeared in 1977 as a result of a joint effort between Dr J.S. Lawson of the Naval Electronic Systems Command and Dr. Paul Moore of the Naval Postgraduate School. Figure 2 shows the Lawson Moore model, adapted by the author for general resource management. SENSE is the collection of raw data or other collateral information about the observed environment. PROCESS takes the data through the inference hierarchy, integrating data within the context of the tasks required of the managed resources. The situation as best can be determined with the resources is then compared to the DESIRED STATE. The DESIRED STATE is the result of planning, which drives the allocation of resources to tasks. Negative Effects Of Music Essay Kristian David Olson once said, Music is an important and extremely useful tool in the way we learn and to deny its power is a waste of a truly wonderful resource. Indeed, music is one of the most powerful forms of influence and has not failed to impact society at any age. Music is one of the oldest art forms to impact culture and has been around before anyone can remember. On average, people listen to hours of music a day, whether as background noise or as an enjoyable activity. Therefore, it is not surprising the impact music has made on society. Music has been an influential force for how humans think, act, and even positively affecting our intelligence. Music speaks to the soul and that is why it is so influential to culture. Therefore, music has affected the lives of everyone in one way or another and how they have become. Music plays an important role to all ages and makes life better for them. It is known to help with health and mental health, intelligence social interactions, and even has positive effects on the brain. However, to every good side there is a bad side, including music which involves vulgar lyrics about violence, explicit content, drug use, and music videos with negative impacts. Moreover, because of musics great influence, it can also cause negative impacts on society. Drugs, sex, alcohol, and violence are more commonly heard in songs today than they have before. Rap music is a common genre where those explicit lyrics about racism, violence, homophobia, sexual language, and hatred towards women take place. For instance, from the band Immortal Technique an extremely violent lyric from their song Dance with the Devil read The shirt covered her face, but she screamed and clawed/ So Billy stomped on the b***h, until he broke her jaw (Ettelson). The lyric goes on in detail of how the guy in the song, Billy, killed this innocent woman by beating her to death to demonstrate how heartless he was so that he could move up in the drug game. Another song about brutally abusing a woman would be The Convicts f/ Choices song called Whoop Her A** where a lyric reads Slammed her to the flo and s**t/ Then started beatin the b***h with a solid wood clobber stick/ (Ettelson). In adults, however, the situation is more complicated as the dreams of adults have been subjected to distortion, with the dream s so called manifest content ,including the remnants of the previous days events or thoughts being a heavily disguised derivative of the latent content, dream thoughts present in the unconscious, consisting of hidden, symbolic and unconscious motives, wishes and fears. The manifest content of a dream is the actual content of the dream, what actually happened during the dream. In contrast, the latent content of the dream is the symbolic meaning of the content of the dream. In order for a counsellor to get to the latent content, the client discusses the dream s manifest content and is encouraged to free associate about the dream. It then becomes the counsellor’s task to decipher the dream s latent content through both defense mechanisms that may be present in the telling of the dream and in the free association about it. There is natural censorship within dreams that will present when a client talks about the dream, and reservations or repressions that the client consciously adds into the dream discussion. In dynamic business environments, the value of existing resources is subject to erosion, in some instances fast erosion. Printing this way will become more common as time goes by and can help the industry limit on human error. 3D movies, holograms and much more have been created so why not have 3D printing. Three dimensional printing has been extensively used in engineering contexts for more than twenty years. However, it is only now that 3 D printing has taken the public s interest. With better alterations and reduced costs over the years, technology has been mainly responsible for this amazing creation of top, front and side view objects printed. A recent report done by industry consultancy and analysis firm McKinsey Company said that 3D printing could cause some major advantages in the global economy after some few years. One being that with consumers expecting more personalized features in the products they want to buy this would mean that more time has to be spent making the products to the customers desires, it also means more value can be built into a product which, in return could be used to generate customer loyalty and more income to the business (Maxey, 2014). • 40. Environmental Effects Of Acid Rain Acid rain, simply put, is a mixture of rainwater and a few specific chemicals that are emitted both naturally and non naturally. The process occurs in the lowest layer of the atmosphere, the troposphere. When compounds such as sulfuric dioxide(SO2) and nitrogen oxides(NO, NO2), are transported to this layer and react with the other parts of the troposphere(water, oxygen, carbon dioxide). Acid rain was first discovered in Sweden in 1872, but has been seen as a more prevalent problem in modern times. Although research had been conducted for many years on acid rain, it did not become an issue for society until around the 1980 s. Acid rain s effects were vast, harming natural environments, architecture, and even the public s health. Regulation of chemical emissions have lessened the threat of acid rain, yet it remains a problem to this day. A As previously mentioned, acid rain is caused by the mixture of chemical emissions with the elements of the troposphere. It s very important to note that water has a natural acidity, it s the excess of oxides that cause the problem. But how did those emissions and oxides make it there? Naturally, compounds like carbon dioxide(CO2), nitric oxide(NO), and sulfur dioxide(SO2), are released through just a few processes: decomposition of organic matter, electric discharge(reactions with lightning and the ozone), as well as release of gasses in volcanic eruptions. However, these only contribute to the natural acidity of water. Human ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. The Impact Of Carbonyl Compounds On The Cardiovascular System The impact of carbonyl compounds on the cardiovascular system In addition to nicotine, e cigarettes emit other potentially harmful constituents like carbonyls that result from thermal degradation of propylene glycol and glycerol; which are the most commonly used solvents in e liquids [PMCID: PMC5226727]. Several studies reported that aerosols from these devices contain significant levels of carbonyls, including various aldehydes; such as formaldehyde, acetaldehyde and acrolein. [PMID: 23467656], [PMID: 24958024]. To this end, although earlier studies that used first generation e cigarette devices did show that the levels of these constituents are much lower than those found in tobacco smoking, more recent studies in which newer generations ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Several animal studies suggested that inhalation of formaldehyde and acetaldehyde has a negative consequence on the cardiovascular system, either directly or indirectly. Specifically, these studies showed that formaldehyde exposure altered the heart rate [PMID: 3735804], blood pressure [PMID: 418528], cardiac contractility [PMID: 2342227], cardiac oxidative stress and platelet count (PMID: 24040369). Formaldehyde inhalation also induced bradycardia in animals [PMID: 3735804], and this effect was found to be mediated by a sympathetic nerve activity (PMID: 3735804). Additionally, subacute and subchronic inhalation of formaldehyde was associated with cardiac oxidative stress, and consequently a cardic cells damage (PMID: 16716041). With regards to platelets, it was shown that the total platelet count significantly increased in mice exposed to formaldehyde gas for 2 weeks ( PMID: 24040369 ); the potential negative consequence of this effect should be considered in the context of the importance of platelets in maintaining hemostasis, and their role in thrombotic disorders. As for acetaldehyde, elevated blood pressure and heart rate were reported in animals following inhalation of variable doses, which could be due to its sympathomimetic effect (PMID: 5071036, PMID: 5681176). It is noteworthy that while the source(s) of formaldehyde and acetaldehyde in these studies were not from e cigarette vapors, the concentrations used are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Example Of Phonological Awareness Phonological awareness is the learning of different sounds, words and syllables learnt through listening and speaking (Gillon, 2004). Phonological awareness is important for children in early childhood to learn to establish their reading and writing skills (Hill, 2012, 160). The way children learn phonological awareness is through word play, stretching sounds, repeat ion, rhymes and song (Hill, 2012, p. 134; Roger Scenter, 2013).Phoneme awareness is a smaller area considered as part of phonological awareness, phoneme awareness focuses on individual sounds that effect understanding (Hill, 2012, p. 134). An example of phoneme awareness would be the word cat sound it out as c/, a/ and t/ or the ch sound. Hill (2012, p. 134) states phonological ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Essay On Ambulatory Care Ambulatory care, also known as outpatient care consists of care that is done outside of the hospital setting. Ambulatory care may be of a specialized nature or not, and patients are usually not going to stay in the facility overnight. Some examples of ambulatory care include dialysis centers, surgical center, physicians offices, and outpatient centers. I believe that ambulatory helps by allowing for there to be mostly patients in the hospital who are severely sick and need constant monitoring. In the first article titled, Outpatient Palliative Care for Chronic Heart Failure: A Case Series, it is discussed that outpatient care for the patient with chronic heart failure is still a new subject matter. There is a need for ambulatory care for the specific patient population which is the chronic heart failure patient, but there is little knowledge on how to provide them with the care that they need in the outpatient setting. Some topics that were stated to need more emphasize on so that the client can be treated better is care coordination, advance care planning, and psychosocial issues. ... The conclusion of this article is that there needs to be maintained investment in primary health care so that those patients with multiple disease can be cared for without an inflation of chronic conditions as they advance in age. This article displays the need for outsourcing care of patients to outpatient care. This will affect the care that I provide as a nurse in a positive way because I believe that as these increased needs get sorted out the care that nurse will be able to give to the client will increase in ... • 44. Select Two Leadership Strategies And Theories Leadership paper COVER padge For the paper, you are to select two leadership strategies/theories/models to compare and contrast as to why they would or would not be representative of effective leadership in the face of organizational change Opening para about leadership Leadership The process of influencing others to accomplish a mission by providing purpose, direction, and motivation. FM 22 100 Leadership is a dynamic process that calls for constant adaptation in order to be effective. Many great leaders have many noble things to say about the art of leadership, but the truth is that leadership is unique to different people. Of course there are some commonalties that apply to most; however it is most effective to experience each unique situation for one s self. For me, I believe that I have to use different techniques for different people and another level of complexity for different situations. For example, under direct fire in a combat situation, I might use a direct style of leadership and that would work for most people. However, while back in the U.S. were we are safe and doing normal daily things the best method might be evocative for the same individual. So we see that constant learning and change is fundamental with leadership. Lastly, I think the most difficult part of leadership is the understanding that sometimes individuals simply refuse to be led by others. A good leader will never emit defeat and continue to strive to work with a subordinate. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
