The Pros And Cons Of Nuclear Weapons
Nuclear weapons were thought to be able to the end war for mankind. But at the same time, people
who believe this don t realize the damage it causes to the many different lives that inhabit this world.
A nuclear weapon is a military weapon that was created to go to war and kill. It also has been used as
a protection to the nation or country from unknown people that isn t suppose to be there in the first
place( How Do Nuclear Weapons Work? 1). Nuclear weapons could never be justified due to the
destruction it has created over the past year and century. For example, due to the nuclear weapons
chemical fission in it, many organisms die, land brutally got destroyed and made humans greedy for
power.
Every single nuclear weapon works in different ways depending where they were made. But the main
way that a single nuclear weapon would work would be due to there being a nucleus in the center of
every atom ( How Do Nuclear Weapons Work? 2). Breaking that nucleus apart or combining two
nuclei together can release large amounts of energy (2). Nuclear weapons use that energy to create an
explosion (2). In other words, it would be used to kill enemies and bring terror. Due to the explosive
compressed nuclear material, causing fission; the fission releases massive amounts of energy in the
form of x rays, which create the high temperature and pressure needed to ignite fusion (2). Meaning,
for any nuclear weapon to work it would need fission to generate an explosion (3). There are

Explication Of The Hollow Men
The explication of The Hollow Men In the famous poem The Hollow Men written by Eliot, the author
depicts a land of death , which gathers a group of hollow men , not only showing the emptiness and a
sense of loss of people, but also reflecting the falling of modern civilization. In his description, we can
clearly see the hopeless status that the people live. In the epigraph of the poem, Eliot mentions two
people called Mistah Kurtz and the old guy respectively. Mistah Kurtz is a character in the novel Heart
of darkness who is corrupted because he wanted to dominate Africa and finally he lost morality and
went to death. the old guy is the man named Guy Fawkes who tried to burn the Parliament building
but unluckily failed. Then every November 5th in England becomes the Guy Fawkes Day . In that
special day, children ask for money ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The speaker clearly knows what environment he lives but he has fear to face the reality. In the Eyes I
dare not meet in dreams (line 19), eyes belong to people who have a meaningful life so the poet
compares eyes to sunlight . Although the owners of these eyes died, they acquire the eternal life in the
other world to some extent. Plus, a broken column (line 23) symbolizes the broken dream. The next
four sentences show that the hollow men are called by the people with souls, but the hollow men live
more distant (line 27) so they cannot hear the voices (line 25) of them. the fading star (line 29) is a
symbol of eternal life which accurately reveals the long distance between the individuals stay in two
different kingdoms. The hollow men dare not to face the truth but they choose to disguise themselves
to be the real people instead. Therefore, the hollow men wear the decorated suits such like Rat s coat
and crowskin and hold up the crossed staves (line 33) which is a sign of religion in order to get

In Shakespeare story King Lear, two of the women were...
In Shakespeare story King Lear, two of the women were portrayed as emasculating and disloyal while
the third was honest and truthful. Showing, that most women who have power can t be trusted. The
story told of a king named Lear who had three daughters named Goneril, Regan, and Cordelia. Lear
had given his two oldest daughters Goneril, and Regan a piece of land even though they had lied to
their father telling him feelings that they didn t really have. Then there was his youngest daughter she
was as honest and truthful as any other child could be. King Lear s two oldest daughters, Goneril and
Regan were liars and were not trustworthy women. They both would do and say anything just to get
an edge. Like for example in Act I of the story ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It all started with Goneril when she had told him that he could live with her, but he was only going to
be allowed to bring fifty of his men instead of all his hundred. The King was so upset that he had put a
curse on his daughter and went to his next daughter hoping for a change, but the story turned out the
same with Regan. She told him he was allowed to only have twenty five men these two factors made
King Lear so upset and outraged that he had claimed that he didn t want to have anything to do with
them two. He was very upset that he had banished his youngest daughter and she was the one that was
telling the truth and probably would have taken the best care of him. With this being said this was
showing that even though the two oldest girls were given the land and exactly what they had wanted it
still wasn t
enough for them and decided to go after their own father just because they wanted to get more out of
him. This story had a plot twist in it being that his own two daughters had turned on him after he had
trusted them from what they had told him. Sadly the king was not the only one that was being played
with by the two scornful women. Goneril had a clever plan in going after Edmund to try and seduce
him into thinking that he could have her behind her husband s back. She had thought she could get
him to try killing her

Visual Perception Of Visual Processing
Abstract
The use of visual perception is very important in our everyday lives. Male and female undergraduates
at the University of New Orleans were tested in their abilities to distinguish the differences in 3
minutes within an allotted time. We found that gender difference sin the task were of low significance.
Gender Differences in Visual Perception: A Spot the Difference Task The use of visual perception
processing comes in to play in various concepts of everyday living. We use our visual processing
skills to gather information about the environment and integrate that information into what we have
already acquired. In concordance to the various learning processes, without the use of visual
processing, we would not be able to learn several processes that are used with vision. For instance,
reading, writing, driving, good eye hand coordination all require the use of our visual fields to learn
how to do these things. Much research has been done on the use of the visual fields in various tasks
and studies. In various studies, researchers have looked at lexical problems in the visual field, spot
change differences in the visual field and change detection abilities in relation to visual perception.
Though the spot the difference task is a great study to look at in relation to visual perception, very
little research has been done on the task and its relation to vision. Similar to the current study,
researchers (Reis, Fallon, and Waite) conducted an

The Big Time College Sports
In this era of big time college sports, it seems the main focus of Division I athletics evolves around the
money that schools and conferences make through different deals. These deals typically involve
television rights for individual conferences with major television networks. Currently the NCAA has a
14 year, $11 billion TV deal with CBS and Turner Broadcasting for the NCAA basketball Tournament,
and this upcoming year ESPN will pay around $470 million to broadcast the new college football
playoffs. The majority of this money is streamed to a teams athletic departments via their respective
conference. The largest percentage of this money goes to teams that perform well on the field and on
the court. Therefore the size of a school s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Followed closely behind is the ACC at $240 million, the Big 12 at $220 million, and lastly the SEC at
$205 million (the SEC Network that launched this past August should eventually launch the
conference to the top of this list) (Smith). Each conference s deal differs, so I will look at each
individually conference. The first and most profitable one is the Big Ten.
Big Ten
The Big Ten is known as the conference where the money is. Year in and year out the Big Ten has the
highest revenues. This can be credited to the prospering Big Ten Network. The Big Ten the first major
conference with their own network, most major conferences have now established a conference
affiliated network. The conference s revenues are expected to grow annually, and 12 of 14 Big Ten
schools are expected to gain $44.5 million during the 2017 18 year, the first year of a new television
deal (the two schools that are not projecting these numbers are Maryland and Rutgers which just
officially joined the conference this past summer and can not receive their full share until 2020 21).
Along with their Big Ten network deal, the conference also has a 10 year TV rights deal with ESPN
worth close to $1 billion that will be expiring in 2016 2017. While negotiations have begun to renew
this contract, it is likely that Fox will become a

Reflection Paper On Spelling
Spelling: I was able to observe Nick s spelling growth over the course of my 8 week experience. My
mentor teacher did not administer class spelling tests, because the students are at various positions in
the spelling module. Instead, Nick and four other classmates are taken to the back table of the
classroom (shown in the diagram in Appendix A) to complete spelling work on their whiteboards. The
group that Nick is in is known as the advanced students in the class, and they get spelling words that
are in the 3rd grade curriculum. Because the work is completed on whiteboards and then erased, I do
not have any record of Nick s spelling scores. Although I do not have any physical documentation of
Nick s spelling performance, I was able to monitor Nick s spelling performance every time the
spelling work was conducted. Typically, he would get the entirety of the spelling list correct, except
for one or two words that were incorrect. These mistakes were consistently problems with medial
vowels in lengthy words. One thing that I found interesting was that Nick would actually sound out
the word while writing it. The words that he recognized with automaticity would be jotted down
immediately with accuracy. The unfamiliar words would leave Nick contemplating the order of the
letters (usually the medial vowels) and literally sounds the word out loud to himself. My mentor
teacher truly loves this aspect of Nick s problem solving, and consistently points it out to the class as a

The Asian American Movement
Historian Daryl Joji Maeda called the The Asian American movement a multiethnic alliance
comprising of all ethnicities by drawing on the discourses and ideologies of the Black Power and anti
war movements in the United States as well as decolonization movements around the globe. By the
1960s, a new generation, less attached to the ethnic differences that plagued Asian immigrant groups,
began to grow and work together. The black and white binary race treatment in the US alienated Asian
Americans as an other, causing some to begin their own rally for Asian American civil rights.
Many of the early Asian movements occurred over labor issues. Asian immigrants organized for labor
rights and partnered with other Asians and other mistreated ethnic ... Show more content on

Student activism was widespread during the late 1960s, as students protested a multitude of issues
such as class inequalities and racial inequalities. The Third World Liberation Front of 1968 provided
an avenue for student groups of color to band together against discriminatory practices in the
university. The multiracial coalition consisted of six student organizations, including the Black
Student Union (BSU) and the Asian American Political Alliance. The BSU was extremely important in
rallying other student groups to be part of the movement to improve the lives of colored people. For
example, it was a member of the BSU who approached the leaders of the Intercollegiate Chinese for
Social Action (ICSA) to join forces with BSU. It was moments like these interactions that made Asian
American activists realize that their own liberation could only take place in accordance with other
color liberation movements. Thus, interracial affinity expressed not only to blacks, but to Latinos,
Native Americans and other ethnic groups of

Voltage Between The Antenna And Antenna
3.6.6 Voltage Standing Wave Ratio
There should be a maximum power transfer between the transmitter and the antenna for the antenna to
perform very well. This happens only when the impedance Zin is matched to the transmitter internal
impedance, Zs.
In the process of accomplishing this particular configuration for an antenna to perform very well, there
is always a reflecting power which leads to the standing waves, which is categorized by the Voltage
Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR).
This is given by [30]:
VSWR=V_max/V_min =(1+|Ī“|)/(1 |Ī“| )=(1+S_11)/(1 S_11 ) Eq. (2.31)
As the reflection coefficient ranges from 0 to 1, the VSWR ranges from 1 to āˆž.
3.6.7 Input Impedance
It is the ratio of the voltage to current at the input terminals or the ratio of the proper components of
the electric fields to the magnetic fields at a particular point. Or in other words we can say it is the
impedance presented by the antenna at the input terminal.
Zin = (Rin + jXin) Eq. (2.32)
Rin the real part, representing the power dissipated though heat or through radiation losses.
Xin imaginary part, representing the reactance of the antenna the power stored in the near field of the
antenna [32].

Bandwidth can be said as the frequencies on both the sides of the center frequency in which the

Screwtape Letters Analysis
The Screwtape Letters
The Screwtape Letters is a thought provoking book that details how easily humans are ensnared by the
Enemy. The enticement of the world seems so appealing to human, however, C.S. Lewis makes it very
clear that the enticement in the world is only temporary, and is ultimately a tactic of the Enemy. Often
times, temptation creeps into our minds unexpectedly, but temptation s effects are deadly. The Enemy
will stop at nothing to tempt us, but God s Word says that He will not tempt you beyond what you can
bear, and when temptation comes, God will provide a way out (1 Corinthians 10:13).
Throughout the Screwtape Letters, the character Screwtape writes letters to his nephew, Wormwood.
The reader is propelled into the life of the Patient; and Screwtape makes it clear to Wormwood that he
must stop at nothing to get the Patient from focusing on his relationship with God, and this becomes
the motivation and obsession behind every note Screwtape writes. However, Screwtape does not only
tell Wormwood to tempt the Patient in only one ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Screwtape also tries to use lust as a distraction in the Patient s life. Being that the Patient is young and
unmarried, Screwtape is to highlight lusts to keep his burning desire to be for women, and not for the
One who gave him life. This approach was very clever, but believers must realize that the weapons we
fight with are not the weapons of this world. Not only that, but Screwtape encourages Wormwood to
not let the Patient s Christianity shine through. That being said, the Patient would become self
conscious about his relationship with God, thus getting him to focus on self. This tactic, however, is
nothing new. Satan tries nothing new, but it is important for us to know how to resist the devil, and
that is through prayer, and the reading of God s

The Battle Of The Imperial Crisis
Prior to the Imperial Crisis 1763 1775, Great Britain had a few set backs all while carrying the world
on their shoulders. France was quickly moving out of North America and Spain was out of Florida, all
while loosing power, allowing for Great Britain to only move up. After about one hundred years of
continuous war, Great Britain had found themselves sinking in a pile of national debt due to the fact
that they borrowed money by collected taxes to reduce or try and stabilize the debt they had already
piled up. Another problem that arose was that the British taxpayers demanded and received many tax
cuts, which reduced government income, only reducing the spending. Limiting spending only hurt
Britain more, because it was very tough to decrease the disbursement when you are the biggest world
power and have the responsibility to maintain a large army and navy, all well protecting your colony
from the growing of large, powerful enemies. America, unlike Great Britain, had the colonists pay
light taxes to the colonial government, allowing for whatever needed to be done, to be done, by taxing
themselves. Britain s taxes were for regulation, and not for profit, unlike America up until 1764 when
the British Parliament changed all policies and enacted laws to make money from the colonists. This
new imperial system consisted of three goals: the ability to provide for colony security, the reassertion
of authority over the colonies, and the shift of financial burden of war debt and

task is to find out what dance is and how it can help us maintain our body and mental memories. Our
central idea is Dance is a sociable activity that inspires composition and innovation. Dance is more
than just a sport it is a passion. It is something you work hard for in your leisure time. We completed
our dance research in March 2017. We had to research one song and I decided to research it on Queen
We Will Rock You. My research assignment aided me with the information that I needed to know
when I am in a group. Information such as communicating well, collaborating well and sharing ideas
occasionally. I have stated in my dance research that Confidence, Tolerance, Independence,
Enthusiasm, Creativity, Commitment and Curiosity is needed to make a dance performance
successful. Tolerance is needed to make a dance performance very successful because you have to
accept your members ideas in order to develop further. Second of all Commitment is needed as it is
significant to cooperate and listen to other people s ideas so you can understand to correctly do the
steps. Thirdly, Enthusiasm is needed to make a

The 1968 Tet Offensive In The Vietnam War
The 1968 Tet Offensive was a series of battles which took place during the Vietnam War where the
North Vietnamese Army (NVA) and the National Liberation Front (NLF) attacked the Army of the
Republic of Vietnam (ARVN) and U.S. Forces in South Vietnam. This major offensive by the
Democratic Republic of Vietnam (DRV) forces which were initiated on January 30th of 1968 in
coordination with Tet, the Vietnamese New Year. The offensive is historically labeled as a military
defeat for the DRV forces while ultimately being a strategic victory through it s ability to turn major
American public opinion against support of the war effort in Vietnam. Johnson s decision to halt
escalation after the Tet Offensive marked a crucial turning point in American participation in the
Vietnam War. (History.com Staff 2009)

much of the American public saw it [the Tet Offensive] as stark evidence that the war could not be

by the American public that an enemy in retreat could not launch such a large offensive, and
inherently this caused great concern over the situation in Vietnam. The images of the American

estimates and reports emanating from Washington in the period just prior to the attacks contributed to
the interpretation of the Tet Offensive as a political and moral defeat for the U.S. (Walton, J.

Prejudice In The Holocaust
The Holocaust is a prime example of prejudice taken to a catastrophic level. It was a large scale event
almost unparalleled to that of any other in terms of people killed and atrocities committed. Violence
against Jews and their properties were both commonplace and promoted, and anti Semitism among
Nazis and their associates ran rampant. By unlawfully persecuting a particular race through state
sponsored government support, racism flourished and led the way to a rise of an apocalyptic genocide.
With authorization from the Nazi party allocated to its soldiers, troops confiscated Jewish property,
pillaged numerous synagogues and stores, and murdered Jews in a short period of time. Reliable
assistance to the suffering Jews was hard to find because of the Nazis brainwashing of the nation
through abundant propaganda. This kind of widespread discrimination inhibited the Jewish people s
ability to speak out against this obvious prejudice. While these attacks were just the tip of the iceberg
in comparison to later deeds committed by the Nazis, they were still fundamental to the eventual
extermination of the Jewish race. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

two additional English Language Unity Acts, one in 2013 and again in 2015. With 82.1 percent fluent
speakers and a whopping 96 percent claiming proficiency, ( PolicyMic ), these bills would not have a
significant effect on the typical citizen. This would be beneficial because there would not be a need for
the people to assimilate. Even for those that don t currently speak English fluently, it would only be
beneficial to learn how; being fluent would increase the ease in which one communicated with a
person that only speaks English, and would make one more eligible for better work here. With better
work, an immigrant s financial status would be elevated and could in turn lift them out of poverty or
even out of middle class. Not only would we be benefitted with being united globally and as a country,
but having an official language would help to promote improved literacy rates specifically with
immigrants. Typically with an official language, the said language is needed to conduct official

Paradise Lost Analysis
Paradise Lost is an epic poem written by John Milton other uses this epic poem to depict the integral
scenes, or rather, experiences that lead up to the fall of mankind in the Garden of Eden. In the Bible,
as well as all prominent, and popular religious works; there is a clear distinction as to who the reader
should be cheering for throughout their readings. However, John Milton s Paradise Lost has turned
this concept on its head. Rather than placing the focus onto Adam, Eve, or even God himself Milton
instead chooses to place the main focus on to Satan. The Fallen Angels, and Satan are meant to be are
antagonists within this epic poem. But, do they start out this way?
Satan is usually conveyed as a villain, yet the Satan we see within Paradise Lost, and Paradise
Regained is flushed out in a similar fashion to protagonist s within other prevalent written works in the
last few centuries. As William Blake concluded in his critique of Paradise Lost: he (Milton) was a true
poet and of the devil s party without knowing it . However, John Milton does not continue on this path
in portraying the devil s so heroically in his second Epic poem Paradise Regained (Nafi, 23). The
Satan that we knew in Paradise Lost; who was known for his wit, intelligence, and persuasive attitude
appear to no longer exist. It s as if his character is downplayed as we progress through the rest from
the later books of Paradise Lost, and continue on to Paradise Regained. Satan, who poetically danced
within the dreams of Eve, and planted the seed of curiosity within her head was reduced to an
antagonist with a lackluster performance. There are several major points in which we are able to see
the progression of Satan as a fleshed out character. However, to understand the progression of Satan s
development as a character; it is important for us to analyze major plot points throughout the twelve
books of Paradise Lost. As John Milton was a devout religious man throughout his life, and this
concert is clear throughout his writings within his various works. Yet, in a peculiar fashion, Paradise
Lost introduces the devil, and Satan first. In an ironic twist Satan addressed before Adam, Eve, Jesus,
or even God. Once the poem starts we are

Essay on A Rhetorical Analysis of the Film Hungry for Change
As our unnamed heroine slumps through afternoon traffic, exhausted and crestfallen from another
arduous day of swilling diet coke by the pallid light of a word processor, she turns on the car radio to
find a pertinent message being broadcasted. ...So many people want to know about diets because so
many people are going to try them, but they don t work ... some weight will be lost temporarily.
Harvey Diamond, author, was speaking. But let me ask you something do you want to be healthy

The arguments made often rely on the trussing that these experts provide through their ethos.
Statements made were often times exaggerated at best and occasionally required logical fallacies to
work. There is a large amount of time demonizing the current food industry and the artificial and
mono nutrient compounds in the first half of the film. Use of scary chemical names and
misappropriated information about said chemical is used for harrowing effect. Propylene glycol is one
chemical remarked to be a common food additive that could also be used to winterize your car. As this
is not a false statement, it is similar in effect to saying that water is in antifreeze. MSG was stated as
another chemical used in this manner that was extremely harmful (viewer was implored at one point to
search for MSG Obesity induced mice ). Aspartame and other artificial sweeteners were also vilified,
with claims such as Aspartame causing formaldehyde buildup in the brain.
When studies were shown not to support the film s argument, they were occasionally argued to be
irrelevant due to interested manufacturers funding (and possibly manipulating) the data within the
studies for monetary gains. An example is when Dr. Mercola that the 90 studies that find aspartame to
be harmless by Ralph G. Walton and the like, 90 percent of them are funded by corporate interest and
that any independent studies find the exact opposite, insinuating fowl play in the

The Differences Between The Assyrians And The Middle East
The Assyrians were declared to have been an empire, but many would disagree. Looking at the three
different articles, we will see if they fit the criteria for what would have been known as an Empire, or
if they fit into what would be known as a kingdom. First a little back story on the Assyrians, they
existed between 911 and 609 BC. Its expansion and coverage over most of the Middle East is
astounding. It eclipsed a large chunk of Babylonia and Egypt. Making it appear to have been an
Empire just by looking at the way it expanded. While it does look like an empires form of growth,
there needs to be more evidence that could explain its overall political growth as well as the public
realm and how it was advancing.
Fascinating enough there is a stele, which is a slab of stone carved, with a hymnic summary of the
campaigns of central and northern Syria, it reads (Foreign) lands larger (than) the territory of Assyria I
captured, Countless people unto its people I added; I continuously herded them in safe pastures, I (am)
Tuglath pileser, king of Assyria. Who from East to West personally conquered all the lands. Over
realms where the chariots of the kings, my fathers, never passed, I appointed governors. From the
Great Sea of the East Resisuri (and) Gubla, on the Shore of the Great Sea of the West, I marched to
and fro, and ruled the world (Tadmor, 57) This shows that through ancient lore that it is seen as a
conquest of an empire. Historically speaking about a decade later

A Brief Note On The Twisted Pair Cables
2.3.3 Twisted Pair
There are two types of Twisted Pair Cables, Shielded Twisted Pair (STP), and Unshielded Twisted Pair
(UTP). Shielded Twisted Pair Cables have a very thin wire mesh that shield and protect the
transmission. STP cables are used for the older phone networks, as well as data and network
communications which are clearer and have less interference with the outside. Whereas Unshielded
Twisted Pair Cables have no wire mesh and are therefore not protecting the transmission in the wiring.
UTPs are mainly used for Local Area Networks (LAN) as well as telephone connections, however
these are more vulnerable than STPs (Shielded Twisted Pair).

You can back up your storage on a separate Hard Disk and on other forms of Disks such as a Floppy
Disk. Using another Hard Disk to back up your storage is useful because it means that you can back
up everything that is stored on the Hard Disk you want to back up. However it all depends on the size
of Hard Disk you get. If it s much smaller than your current Disk, then you will only be able to back
up the more important stuff that is stored on the Disk. Whereas if you got a Hard Disk that is bigger
than your current Disk, then you will have room to back up the whole Disk, as well as add extras
when you need to back up more recent data.

Sarcasm And The Food Industry
Thanksgiving is a time when all my worries melt away and an illusionary warmth engulfs my very
being. The entire family gathers and we prepare a meal worthy of a king; there is no other holiday
aside from Christmas that is greeted with such a feast. It is a means for all of us to gather, give thanks,
and enjoy life s little things. Or rather, the things that seem little to us while remaining quite a thing to
behold in the shadows of one s own mind. It would be truly a sin to pry away the shelter that encases a
sad reality about the meal bestowed upon us. It does not come with surprise that my ever expanding
knowledge base for the subject of food is casting light on things that I never even once dreamed of
thinking about. Our traditions are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For this reason I never even so much as remember the radical thoughts I have been introduced to
throughout various sources damning the food industry. I know for a fact that I have read many articles
that show aspects that make it fairly reasonable to condemn the industry for practices being somewhat
demeaning for animals and humans alike. Not to mention the environmentalists that are pointing
fingers every which way when it comes to the artificially made products, animal and plant alike.
Albeit some of those articles have been rather one sided in comprehending the significance of the
field, they have had valuable information for their side of the argument. But I digress, I do not take
into consideration all of these outside factors because I have never dealt with the process of the
product. I do not fully appreciate the food that is placed on the table more for the thoughts I have
buried deep during the time of consumption. I do not remember why I need to appreciate it more. To
have the knowledge and be able to cast it aside so easily is either a curse or a blessing...if I remember
it I would never want to eat what is set before me. And if I do not remember it, I am showing much
disrespect for everything that goes into processed foods. I do not condone animal cruelty and I have
no viewpoint on the environment because I have a feeling there are about twenty times more things
that are occurring to ravage the earth in the background that are not being discussed. I agree with Peter
Singer s philosophy that we need to understand nature and develop the best theories we can to explain
why things are as they are, because only in that way can we work out what the consequences of our
actions are likely to be; but it would be a serious mistake to assume that natural ways of doing things

Sexual Assault On College Campuses Essay
Sexual Assault on College Campuses
Many college students, both men and women, experience some form of sexual assault while living on
the campus due to the lack of safety taught and provided to the students. Therefore, colleges
nationwide should provide the necessities that help students reduce their chances of being a victim of
sexual assault or aid them with assistance if assaulted. Sexual assault is a commonly ignored, but
frequent issue on many college campuses. The victims can suffer when the physical and verbal threats
are made and, often exacerbated using drugs and alcohol. However, sexual assault does not always
have to come in such a personal form. Acts such as stalking the individual while they are in a private

The different theories of the causes appear to be controversial among the society. For example, some
can be of prejudicial, stereotypical, or false beliefs about sexual violence (Burt 227). Common quotes
such as she was asking for it by wearing that short skirt or boys will be boys tend to make the situation
lessen in value. Among the variety of reasons that lead to an assault is the date rape drug . The Date
Rape drug is a very popular drug on college campuses that can put the victim in a vulnerable state. It
is used as an easy way to manipulate the victims due to the excessive amount of experimenting with
alcohol that may occur. To help lessen these chances, young adults should be educated about the risk
that can come with participating in certain activities. College campuses should also act to help prevent
assaults and assist those victims. Colleges should provide and staff centers and resources that students
may report to when they are in a situation like this. One resource that colleges may overlook is a rape
whistle. While counterarguments may claim that students could take advantage and not be mature
while having one in their possession, it is an effective way to help a student while in a bad situation.
Only 20% of female student victims, age 18 24, report to law enforcement (DOJ). Most students do
not feel comfortable when such a traumatic event happens to them because they fear that no one will

Controlling A Crime Crisis Of America
Controlling a Crime Crisis After years of plaguing America s streets and taking millions of lives,
crime rates have finally given up their spot and drastically fallen. In the last decade, crime rates on the
streets have fallen near fifty percent from where they were in the beginning in North America
(Griffiths). It is no coincidence that crime rates fell so much while technology became an essential in
everyday American lifestyle simultaneously. America s streets are no longer one of the scariest places
to be at any given time, people walking down them do not have to continuously worry about someone
coming behind them and committing heinous crimes. Shop and restaurant owners no longer have to

Just in the last decade, there has been a 29% increase in crimes committed against residents and a 22%
increase for business losses due to online crimes (Meyer). Another large issue with technology is that
they monitor an individualś every move, for example, a phone company, AT T, was monitoring their
customers phones to be able to use your individual Web browsing information, like the search terms
you enter and the Web pages you visit, to tailor ads and offers to your interests (Silverman 282).
Although the increase in such crimes can potentially cause many issues and obstacles for an
individual, they do not physically harm anyone. Such crimes as internet fraud and any other crime that
can be committed online, are all fixable and can be prevented. There are security systems that can help
protect against frauds and prevent any more from occurring, which makes this issue much less crucial
to stop. It is also possible to contact police and bankers to stop this from occurring and they can help
you regain all of your losses. The government also has the NSA, the National Security Agency, to
monitor all internet movements, which helps stop many of these issues. New technology has helped
prevent an immense amount of street crimes, that without the internet, would have only continued to
rise, while millions of people would have continued to be murdered. The

Marble Racing to Find a Liqid s Viscosity
Race Your Marbles to Discover a Liquid s Viscosity
Which Liquid Has the Highest Viscosity?
In this project we will determine the viscosities of 5 separate liquids. The liquids we will test are corn
syrup, honey, vegetable oil, milk, and water. We will find their viscosities by dropping a marble into
each of these liquids and measuring the time it takes for it to reach the bottom. Before we conduct the
experiment, we must first understand what viscosity is. Viscosity is the quantity that describes a fluid s
resistance to flow .1 It is essentially fluid friction and transforms kinetic energy of motion into heat
energy, just as friction ( the force between surfaces in contact that resists their relative tangential
motion ) does between ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This equation is not a law of nature, but a reasonable first approximation. Liquids such as water and
some gases fit this criterion and are called Newtonian fluids. Water is an example of a Newtonian fluid
because, no matter how fast it is stirred or mixed, it still exemplifies properties of a fluid. When
stirring or mixing a non Newtonian fluid a hole is left behind. It may also become thinner and more
viscous. Jean Louis Marie Poiseuille was interested in the flow of human blood and formulated
Poiseuille s Law. He made a series of tubes to test uniform viscous liquids in. These successfully
modeled the blood flow in capillaries and veins, flow through a drinking straw, air flow in lung
alveoli, or through a needle. The equation he used was: [pic] where: Ī”P is the pressure drop L is the
length of pipe Ī¼ is the dynamic viscosity Q is the volumetric flow rate r is the radius Ļ€ is pi
In order to form a hypothesis of which fluid has the highest viscosity, we must also have knowledge of
each fluid we will test. Corn syrup is glucose syrup that is made from cornstarch. The viscosity and
sweetness of it depends on the amount of hydrolysis it undergoes. It is most commonly used as a
thickener, a sweetener, and in maintaining a food s freshness. Honey

Essay on Multimedia The Wide Spectrum
Multimedia The Wide Spectrum In this paper, I will endeavor to provide you with a basic overview as
to what multimedia consists of. I will also delve into the visual aspect in the wide spectrum of
multimedia to show what it consists of and for a better understanding as to how it fits in.
Multimedia first began with games but Web pages, interactive courses, and catalogs with sound and
video have now dominated the stage. Not long ago, the term multimedia referred to a room full of
slide projectors, tape decks, and movie projectors. Multimedia presentations were hard to put together
and even harder to run. Many of them took weeks of preparation and they were then shown only once
(Curtin 217). The computer has changed all of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is no question that multimedia can improve the quality of games and this is shown through such
creations as Playstation. In the end, it is that very game like quality that can enhance a learning
experience. Parents watching their children play innovative games see how powerful multimedia is at
teaching them how to read or solve math problems even thought the children perceive the experience
as just a game. Building on the power of this perception, innovators have increasingly used
multimedia to support all kinds of activities that are not just games ( Partial Project List ).
As computer applications programs become more complex, software publishers are building
multimedia presentations into their programs to introduce new features and walk the user through
them. In companies, this form of presentation will take a big load off the overworked technical
support staff (Curtin 218). For individuals at home or in small businesses, it will make programs
easier to learn and use.
Multimedia is extensively used for education and training in schools, businesses, and the home.
Education that implements multimedia allows you to proceed at your own pace. It changes the boring
presentations (to say the least) of the past and makes it easy to be attentive with the help of sounds,
movies, animations, and interactivity (Hajick).

General Motors ( Gm )

perform in the previous year s even though being one of the oldest automobile manufacturer in the
history, and the issues will be clarified with pertinent theories and to conclude my analysis
INTRODUCTION: The journey of General Motors (GM) can be followed back to 1887 when Ransom
E. Olds began the Olds Motor Vehicle Company Inc., (OMVC) in Michigan, USA, and began offering
vehicles under the Oldsmobile brand. In May 1903, Buick Motor Company (Buick) was formed by
David Dunbar Buick and Buick began assembling and offering vehicles by 1907. In spite of having a
decent begin and offering 6,500 vehicles every year somewhere around 1901 and 1908, OMVC began
to face serious rivalry from other significant car organizations like Buick, Cadillac Car Company3
(Cadillac), and Oakland Engine Auto Company4 (OMCC). In 1908, William Crapo Durant5 (Durant)
began General Engines Organization (GM) as a holding organization for Buick. That year, Durant
purchased OMVC. In 1909, GM purchased Cadillac and OMCC. In 1910, motor vehicles deals
plunged, bringing about numerous producers leaving the business. GM excessively sold some of its
organizations at loss. Its financial issues constrained Durant out of GM s administration. In 1911,
Durant joined Chevrolet Motor Company6 (Chevrolet). In 1916, Durant exchanged Chevrolet shares
to purchase a larger part stake of 54.5 present in GM. With the procurement of

public and private sector are beginning to recognize their obligation to take action. Yet, in order to
make sound managerial decisions regarding climate change it is important to understand the nature of

Further, research reveals that the levels of greenhouse gases has increased between the base periods of
1961 and 1990, with a warming of the atmosphere accompanying the increase in carbon dioxide levels
(University Corporation for Atmospheric Research, 2014). These trends will have serious
consequences for humans around the globe.
The reason that climate changes impact human life significantly is that climate interacts significantly
with the ecosystem. The climate system is composed of the atmosphere, the hydrosphere, the physical
Earth, the biosphere, and the cryosphere, a term designating solid forms of water that are permanent
landmarks on the Earth s surface (Lutgens Tarbuck, 2013). Thus, when a change to the Earth s
atmospheric temperature occurs, it not only impacts the atmosphere, but all components of the
environment are impacted as well. For example, if a drop in temperature takes place over a series of
time, this modifies the features of the Earth s surface, which can make it uninhabitable for entire
species. This also impacts the food and plant sources that humans rely upon to survive while making
different locations less desirable for habitation. Thus, humans are profoundly affected by global trends
in climate.

The Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ) was first developed in the 1980 s at the University of

young children whose developmental status is in question or at risk. The ASQ has shown to produce
high specificity across questionnaire intervals but with lower and varying levels of sensitivity
(McKnight, 2014). One of the key recommendations by the American Academy of Pediatrics is early

All Hallow s Eve Eve
All Hallow s Eve
Whether or not you re a believer in the supernatural, you have to admit there isn t a day quite as
mystical or spiritual as All Hallow s Eve. The word Halloween means hallowed evening or holy
evening . Its origins go back hundreds of years and its place in modern day culture is continuously
evolving. A multitude of cultures see this day as the time when the veil between this world and the
spirit world is at its thinnest. But, a very large number of people see this day as excuse to dress up, get
drunk, and eat candy. So, what is it about Halloween that draws in millions of people every year? Is it
a simple case of party fever, or is it something much more spellbinding? While not definite, many
scholars believe All Hallows Eve began as a Christianized feast influenced by Celtic harvest festivals
including possible pagan roots, particularly the Gaelic festival Samhain. Other scholars maintain that
it originated independently of Samhain and has solely Christian roots. Historian Nicholas Rogers
notes that while some folklorists have detected its origins in the Roman feast of Pomona, the goddess
of fruits and seeds, or in the festival of the dead called Parentalia, it is more typically linked to the
Celtic festival of Samhain , which comes from the Old Irish for summer s end . It was held on or
around the 31st of October through the 1st of November and kindred festivals were held at the same
time of year by the Brittonic Celts; for example Calan

Definition Of Frames
A frame is a set of contexts and perspectives that defines how an individual perceives and responds to
facts, events or people. Frames are intellectual stereotypes that make the interpretation of the world
around us easy by filtering out details that we believe or have found in the past to be insignificant.
This simplification sometimes has its own problems that can in turn be addressed by reframing. The
deliberate and conscious management, reformation and refinement of frames that aims to address and
minimize the conflict between how things are and how one perceives it, is called reframing.
Reframing, essentially, is a process of analyzing, reshaping and improving frames so that the reflective

The Importance Of Fresh Water Invertebrates
Fresh water invertebrates rely on many things to help them survive in the river and other bodies of
water. The water quality must be the right pH, temperature, dissolved oxygen levels and conductivity
levels in the water for the invertebrates to survive. Fresh water invertebrates are important for the
ecosystem as they feed on mosses on the rocks and provide food for predators to keep the ecosystem
together. Water quality is important because if it is poor then the animals, not only livestock but
domestic pets, will be affected by it because they would drink from the river. Not only do animals
drink from it but water is also extracted from this river for human consumption as drinking water,
therefore if diseases get in to water it can also have consequences on humans as well as animals. (find
evidence) The quality of the water can affect the way in which the ecosystem can change as if the
water quality becomes poor then this can influence not only the invertebrates themselves but those
species that eat these invertebrates (Wren Stephenson, 1991). Therefore, the whole food chain would
be broken as the predators would have nothing to eat so would then they will also start to die. By
monitoring what freshwater invertebrates are in each section of the river, we can check what the water
quality in the water is like as certain invertebrates survive in different conditions (look up what
invertebrates survive better in acid and alkaline water). The area around the river Plym is

women on a train they had been aboard. The boys accused, later known as the Scottsboro boys were
Olen Montgomery, Clarence Norris, Haywood Patterson, Ozie Powell, Andy Wright, Roy Wright,
Charles Weems, Eugene Williams and Willie Roberson, ranging in age from 12 to 20. The two white
women claiming they were raped were Victoria Price and Ruby Bates. To Kill a Mockingbird,
although written in 1960, takes place in the 1930 s during the Great Depression. The quiet town of
Maycomb, in Alabama is disturbed when Mayella Ewell, a white woman, accuses Tom Robinson, a
black man of raping her. The Scottsboro case is still one of the most famous cases from the Jim Crow
era and it is clear that it influenced Tom Robinson s case. From just the foundations of the two cases it
is obvious there are many parallels between them. The Scottsboro case and Tom Robinson s case both
took place in the 1930 s during the Great Depression. Tom Robinson and the Scottsboro boys are also
accused of the same crime. Although the Scottsboro case involves 9 boys and 2 women and the other
case only includes 1 man and 1 woman it is clear what Harper Lee was trying to represent. In both
cases there was an extreme lack of evidence, Ruby Bates testified that she was beaten and bruised by
the repeated rapes and that she lost consciousness, regaining consciousness only when she found
herself on the way to the Scottsboro jail. In fact, numerous witnesses and the arresting officers saw her
fully conscious when she and the boys were taken off the train. The physician

  • 2. The Pros And Cons Of Nuclear Weapons Nuclear weapons were thought to be able to the end war for mankind. But at the same time, people who believe this don t realize the damage it causes to the many different lives that inhabit this world. A nuclear weapon is a military weapon that was created to go to war and kill. It also has been used as a protection to the nation or country from unknown people that isn t suppose to be there in the first place( How Do Nuclear Weapons Work? 1). Nuclear weapons could never be justified due to the destruction it has created over the past year and century. For example, due to the nuclear weapons chemical fission in it, many organisms die, land brutally got destroyed and made humans greedy for power. Every single nuclear weapon works in different ways depending where they were made. But the main way that a single nuclear weapon would work would be due to there being a nucleus in the center of every atom ( How Do Nuclear Weapons Work? 2). Breaking that nucleus apart or combining two nuclei together can release large amounts of energy (2). Nuclear weapons use that energy to create an explosion (2). In other words, it would be used to kill enemies and bring terror. Due to the explosive compressed nuclear material, causing fission; the fission releases massive amounts of energy in the form of x rays, which create the high temperature and pressure needed to ignite fusion (2). Meaning, for any nuclear weapon to work it would need fission to generate an explosion (3). There are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Explication Of The Hollow Men The explication of The Hollow Men In the famous poem The Hollow Men written by Eliot, the author depicts a land of death , which gathers a group of hollow men , not only showing the emptiness and a sense of loss of people, but also reflecting the falling of modern civilization. In his description, we can clearly see the hopeless status that the people live. In the epigraph of the poem, Eliot mentions two people called Mistah Kurtz and the old guy respectively. Mistah Kurtz is a character in the novel Heart of darkness who is corrupted because he wanted to dominate Africa and finally he lost morality and went to death. the old guy is the man named Guy Fawkes who tried to burn the Parliament building but unluckily failed. Then every November 5th in England becomes the Guy Fawkes Day . In that special day, children ask for money ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The speaker clearly knows what environment he lives but he has fear to face the reality. In the Eyes I dare not meet in dreams (line 19), eyes belong to people who have a meaningful life so the poet compares eyes to sunlight . Although the owners of these eyes died, they acquire the eternal life in the other world to some extent. Plus, a broken column (line 23) symbolizes the broken dream. The next four sentences show that the hollow men are called by the people with souls, but the hollow men live more distant (line 27) so they cannot hear the voices (line 25) of them. the fading star (line 29) is a symbol of eternal life which accurately reveals the long distance between the individuals stay in two different kingdoms. The hollow men dare not to face the truth but they choose to disguise themselves to be the real people instead. Therefore, the hollow men wear the decorated suits such like Rat s coat and crowskin and hold up the crossed staves (line 33) which is a sign of religion in order to get themselves rescued in this ... Showing, that most women who have power can t be trusted. The story told of a king named Lear who had three daughters named Goneril, Regan, and Cordelia. Lear had given his two oldest daughters Goneril, and Regan a piece of land even though they had lied to their father telling him feelings that they didn t really have. Then there was his youngest daughter she was as honest and truthful as any other child could be. King Lear s two oldest daughters, Goneril and Regan were liars and were not trustworthy women. They both would do and say anything just to get an edge. Like for example in Act I of the story ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It all started with Goneril when she had told him that he could live with her, but he was only going to be allowed to bring fifty of his men instead of all his hundred. The King was so upset that he had put a curse on his daughter and went to his next daughter hoping for a change, but the story turned out the same with Regan. She told him he was allowed to only have twenty five men these two factors made King Lear so upset and outraged that he had claimed that he didn t want to have anything to do with them two. He was very upset that he had banished his youngest daughter and she was the one that was telling the truth and probably would have taken the best care of him. With this being said this was showing that even though the two oldest girls were given the land and exactly what they had wanted it still wasn t enough for them and decided to go after their own father just because they wanted to get more out of him. This story had a plot twist in it being that his own two daughters had turned on him after he had trusted them from what they had told him. Sadly the king was not the only one that was being played with by the two scornful women. Goneril had a clever plan in going after Edmund to try and seduce him into thinking that he could have her behind her husband s back. She had thought she could get him to try killing her ... • 5. Visual Perception Of Visual Processing Abstract The use of visual perception is very important in our everyday lives. Male and female undergraduates at the University of New Orleans were tested in their abilities to distinguish the differences in 3 minutes within an allotted time. We found that gender difference sin the task were of low significance. Gender Differences in Visual Perception: A Spot the Difference Task The use of visual perception processing comes in to play in various concepts of everyday living. We use our visual processing skills to gather information about the environment and integrate that information into what we have already acquired. In concordance to the various learning processes, without the use of visual processing, we would not be able to learn several processes that are used with vision. For instance, reading, writing, driving, good eye hand coordination all require the use of our visual fields to learn how to do these things. Much research has been done on the use of the visual fields in various tasks and studies. In various studies, researchers have looked at lexical problems in the visual field, spot change differences in the visual field and change detection abilities in relation to visual perception. Though the spot the difference task is a great study to look at in relation to visual perception, very little research has been done on the task and its relation to vision. Similar to the current study, researchers (Reis, Fallon, and Waite) conducted an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Big Time College Sports In this era of big time college sports, it seems the main focus of Division I athletics evolves around the money that schools and conferences make through different deals. These deals typically involve television rights for individual conferences with major television networks. Currently the NCAA has a 14 year, $11 billion TV deal with CBS and Turner Broadcasting for the NCAA basketball Tournament, and this upcoming year ESPN will pay around $470 million to broadcast the new college football playoffs. The majority of this money is streamed to a teams athletic departments via their respective conference. Each conference s deal differs, so I will look at each individually conference. The first and most profitable one is the Big Ten. Big Ten The Big Ten is known as the conference where the money is. Year in and year out the Big Ten has the highest revenues. This can be credited to the prospering Big Ten Network. The Big Ten the first major conference with their own network, most major conferences have now established a conference affiliated network. The conference s revenues are expected to grow annually, and 12 of 14 Big Ten schools are expected to gain $44.5 million during the 2017 18 year, the first year of a new television deal (the two schools that are not projecting these numbers are Maryland and Rutgers which just officially joined the conference this past summer and can not receive their full share until 2020 21). Along with their Big Ten network deal, the conference also has a 10 year TV rights deal with ESPN worth close to $1 billion that will be expiring in 2016 2017. The group that Nick is in is known as the advanced students in the class, and they get spelling words that are in the 3rd grade curriculum. Because the work is completed on whiteboards and then erased, I do not have any record of Nick s spelling scores. Although I do not have any physical documentation of Nick s spelling performance, I was able to monitor Nick s spelling performance every time the spelling work was conducted. Typically, he would get the entirety of the spelling list correct, except for one or two words that were incorrect. These mistakes were consistently problems with medial vowels in lengthy words. One thing that I found interesting was that Nick would actually sound out the word while writing it. The words that he recognized with automaticity would be jotted down immediately with accuracy. The unfamiliar words would leave Nick contemplating the order of the letters (usually the medial vowels) and literally sounds the word out loud to himself. My mentor teacher truly loves this aspect of Nick s problem solving, and consistently points it out to the class as a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

By the 1960s, a new generation, less attached to the ethnic differences that plagued Asian immigrant groups, began to grow and work together. The black and white binary race treatment in the US alienated Asian Americans as an other, causing some to begin their own rally for Asian American civil rights. The Third World Liberation Front of 1968 provided an avenue for student groups of color to band together against discriminatory practices in the university. The multiracial coalition consisted of six student organizations, including the Black Student Union (BSU) and the Asian American Political Alliance. The BSU was extremely important in rallying other student groups to be part of the movement to improve the lives of colored people. For example, it was a member of the BSU who approached the leaders of the Intercollegiate Chinese for Social Action (ICSA) to join forces with BSU. • 9. Voltage Between The Antenna And Antenna 3.6.6 Voltage Standing Wave Ratio There should be a maximum power transfer between the transmitter and the antenna for the antenna to perform very well. This happens only when the impedance Zin is matched to the transmitter internal impedance, Zs. In the process of accomplishing this particular configuration for an antenna to perform very well, there is always a reflecting power which leads to the standing waves, which is categorized by the Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR). This is given by [30]: VSWR=V_max/V_min =(1+|Ī“|)/(1 |Ī“| )=(1+S_11)/(1 S_11 ) Eq. The enticement of the world seems so appealing to human, however, C.S. Lewis makes it very clear that the enticement in the world is only temporary, and is ultimately a tactic of the Enemy. Often times, temptation creeps into our minds unexpectedly, but temptation s effects are deadly. The Enemy will stop at nothing to tempt us, but God s Word says that He will not tempt you beyond what you can bear, and when temptation comes, God will provide a way out (1 Corinthians 10:13). Throughout the Screwtape Letters, the character Screwtape writes letters to his nephew, Wormwood. The reader is propelled into the life of the Patient; and Screwtape makes it clear to Wormwood that he must stop at nothing to get the Patient from focusing on his relationship with God, and this becomes the motivation and obsession behind every note Screwtape writes. • 11. The Battle Of The Imperial Crisis Prior to the Imperial Crisis 1763 1775, Great Britain had a few set backs all while carrying the world on their shoulders. France was quickly moving out of North America and Spain was out of Florida, all while loosing power, allowing for Great Britain to only move up. After about one hundred years of continuous war, Great Britain had found themselves sinking in a pile of national debt due to the fact that they borrowed money by collected taxes to reduce or try and stabilize the debt they had already piled up. Another problem that arose was that the British taxpayers demanded and received many tax cuts, which reduced government income, only reducing the spending. Limiting spending only hurt Britain more, because it was very tough to decrease the disbursement when you are the biggest world power and have the responsibility to maintain a large army and navy, all well protecting your colony from the growing of large, powerful enemies. America, unlike Great Britain, had the colonists pay light taxes to the colonial government, allowing for whatever needed to be done, to be done, by taxing themselves. Britain s taxes were for regulation, and not for profit, unlike America up until 1764 when the British Parliament changed all policies and enacted laws to make money from the colonists. This new imperial system consisted of three goals: the ability to provide for colony security, the reassertion of authority over the colonies, and the shift of financial burden of war debt and ... It was a large scale event almost unparalleled to that of any other in terms of people killed and atrocities committed. Violence against Jews and their properties were both commonplace and promoted, and anti Semitism among Nazis and their associates ran rampant. By unlawfully persecuting a particular race through state sponsored government support, racism flourished and led the way to a rise of an apocalyptic genocide. With authorization from the Nazi party allocated to its soldiers, troops confiscated Jewish property, pillaged numerous synagogues and stores, and murdered Jews in a short period of time. Reliable assistance to the suffering Jews was hard to find because of the Nazis brainwashing of the nation through abundant propaganda. Paradise Lost Analysis Paradise Lost is an epic poem written by John Milton other uses this epic poem to depict the integral scenes, or rather, experiences that lead up to the fall of mankind in the Garden of Eden. In the Bible, as well as all prominent, and popular religious works; there is a clear distinction as to who the reader should be cheering for throughout their readings. However, John Milton s Paradise Lost has turned this concept on its head. Rather than placing the focus onto Adam, Eve, or even God himself Milton instead chooses to place the main focus on to Satan. The Fallen Angels, and Satan are meant to be are antagonists within this epic poem. But, do they start out this way? Satan is usually conveyed as a villain, yet the Satan we see within Paradise Lost, and Paradise Regained is flushed out in a similar fashion to protagonist s within other prevalent written works in the last few centuries. As William Blake concluded in his critique of Paradise Lost: he (Milton) was a true poet and of the devil s party without knowing it . However, John Milton does not continue on this path in portraying the devil s so heroically in his second Epic poem Paradise Regained (Nafi, 23). The Satan that we knew in Paradise Lost; who was known for his wit, intelligence, and persuasive attitude appear to no longer exist. It s as if his character is downplayed as we progress through the rest from the later books of Paradise Lost, and continue on to Paradise Regained. Satan, who poetically danced within the dreams of Eve, and planted the seed of curiosity within her head was reduced to an antagonist with a lackluster performance. There are several major points in which we are able to see the progression of Satan as a fleshed out character. However, to understand the progression of Satan s development as a character; it is important for us to analyze major plot points throughout the twelve books of Paradise Lost. As John Milton was a devout religious man throughout his life, and this concert is clear throughout his writings within his various works. Yet, in a peculiar fashion, Paradise Lost introduces the devil, and Satan first. In an ironic twist Satan addressed before Adam, Eve, Jesus, or even God. Once the poem starts we are ... Another large issue with technology is that they monitor an individualś every move, for example, a phone company, AT T, was monitoring their customers phones to be able to use your individual Web browsing information, like the search terms you enter and the Web pages you visit, to tailor ads and offers to your interests (Silverman 282). Although the increase in such crimes can potentially cause many issues and obstacles for an individual, they do not physically harm anyone. Such crimes as internet fraud and any other crime that can be committed online, are all fixable and can be prevented. There are security systems that can help protect against frauds and prevent any more from occurring, which makes this issue much less crucial to stop. It is also possible to contact police and bankers to stop this from occurring and they can help you regain all of your losses. The government also has the NSA, the National Security Agency, to monitor all internet movements, which helps stop many of these issues. New technology has helped prevent an immense amount of street crimes, that without the internet, would have only continued to rise, while millions of people would have continued to be murdered. • 28. Marble Racing to Find a Liqid s Viscosity Race Your Marbles to Discover a Liquid s Viscosity Which Liquid Has the Highest Viscosity? In this project we will determine the viscosities of 5 separate liquids. The liquids we will test are corn syrup, honey, vegetable oil, milk, and water. We will find their viscosities by dropping a marble into each of these liquids and measuring the time it takes for it to reach the bottom. Before we conduct the experiment, we must first understand what viscosity is. Viscosity is the quantity that describes a fluid s resistance to flow .1 It is essentially fluid friction and transforms kinetic energy of motion into heat energy, just as friction ( the force between surfaces in contact that resists their relative tangential motion ) does between ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This equation is not a law of nature, but a reasonable first approximation. Liquids such as water and some gases fit this criterion and are called Newtonian fluids. Water is an example of a Newtonian fluid because, no matter how fast it is stirred or mixed, it still exemplifies properties of a fluid. When stirring or mixing a non Newtonian fluid a hole is left behind. It may also become thinner and more viscous. Jean Louis Marie Poiseuille was interested in the flow of human blood and formulated Poiseuille s Law. He made a series of tubes to test uniform viscous liquids in. These successfully modeled the blood flow in capillaries and veins, flow through a drinking straw, air flow in lung alveoli, or through a needle. The equation he used was: [pic] where: Ī”P is the pressure drop L is the length of pipe Ī¼ is the dynamic viscosity Q is the volumetric flow rate r is the radius Ļ€ is pi In order to form a hypothesis of which fluid has the highest viscosity, we must also have knowledge of each fluid we will test. Corn syrup is glucose syrup that is made from cornstarch. The viscosity and sweetness of it depends on the amount of hydrolysis it undergoes. I will also delve into the visual aspect in the wide spectrum of multimedia to show what it consists of and for a better understanding as to how it fits in. Multimedia first began with games but Web pages, interactive courses, and catalogs with sound and video have now dominated the stage. Not long ago, the term multimedia referred to a room full of slide projectors, tape decks, and movie projectors. Multimedia presentations were hard to put together and even harder to run. Many of them took weeks of preparation and they were then shown only once (Curtin 217). The computer has changed all of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is no question that multimedia can improve the quality of games and this is shown through such creations as Playstation. In the end, it is that very game like quality that can enhance a learning experience. Parents watching their children play innovative games see how powerful multimedia is at teaching them how to read or solve math problems even thought the children perceive the experience as just a game. Building on the power of this perception, innovators have increasingly used multimedia to support all kinds of activities that are not just games ( Partial Project List ). As computer applications programs become more complex, software publishers are building multimedia presentations into their programs to introduce new features and walk the user through them. In companies, this form of presentation will take a big load off the overworked technical support staff (Curtin 218). For individuals at home or in small businesses, it will make programs easier to learn and use. Multimedia is extensively used for education and training in schools, businesses, and the home. Education that implements multimedia allows you to proceed at your own pace. It changes the boring presentations (to say the least) of the past and makes it easy to be attentive with the help of sounds, movies, animations, and interactivity (Hajick). When the Web was ... General Motors ( Gm ) ABSTRACT The aim of this report is to discuss about how GENERAL MOTORS (GM) failed to perform in the previous year s even though being one of the oldest automobile manufacturer in the history, and the issues will be clarified with pertinent theories and to conclude my analysis INTRODUCTION: The journey of General Motors (GM) can be followed back to 1887 when Ransom E. Olds began the Olds Motor Vehicle Company Inc., (OMVC) in Michigan, USA, and began offering vehicles under the Oldsmobile brand. In May 1903, Buick Motor Company (Buick) was formed by David Dunbar Buick and Buick began assembling and offering vehicles by 1907. In spite of having a decent begin and offering 6,500 vehicles every year somewhere around 1901 and 1908, OMVC began to face serious rivalry from other significant car organizations like Buick, Cadillac Car Company3 (Cadillac), and Oakland Engine Auto Company4 (OMCC). In 1908, William Crapo Durant5 (Durant) began General Engines Organization (GM) as a holding organization for Buick. That year, Durant purchased OMVC. In 1909, GM purchased Cadillac and OMCC. In 1910, motor vehicles deals plunged, bringing about numerous producers leaving the business. GM excessively sold some of its organizations at loss. Its financial issues constrained Durant out of GM s administration. In 1911, Durant joined Chevrolet Motor Company6 (Chevrolet). In 1916, Durant exchanged Chevrolet shares to purchase a larger part stake of 54.5 present in GM. With the procurement of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Further, research reveals that the levels of greenhouse gases has increased between the base periods of 1961 and 1990, with a warming of the atmosphere accompanying the increase in carbon dioxide levels (University Corporation for Atmospheric Research, 2014). These trends will have serious consequences for humans around the globe. The reason that climate changes impact human life significantly is that climate interacts significantly with the ecosystem. The climate system is composed of the atmosphere, the hydrosphere, the physical Earth, the biosphere, and the cryosphere, a term designating solid forms of water that are permanent landmarks on the Earth s surface (Lutgens Tarbuck, 2013). Thus, when a change to the Earth s atmospheric temperature occurs, it not only impacts the atmosphere, but all components of the environment are impacted as well. For example, if a drop in temperature takes place over a series of time, this modifies the features of the Earth s surface, which can make it uninhabitable for entire species. This also impacts the food and plant sources that humans rely upon to survive while making different locations less desirable for habitation. Thus, humans are profoundly affected by global trends in climate. Causes of Climate Change The causes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The tool s purpose is to provide a low cost strategy to monitor the development of infants and young children whose developmental status is in question or at risk. The ASQ has shown to produce high specificity across questionnaire intervals but with lower and varying levels of sensitivity (McKnight, 2014). One of the key recommendations by the American Academy of Pediatrics is early recognition of neurodevelopmental impairment, so the ASQ is way for providers to screen their patients for possible delays or impairments. The word Halloween means hallowed evening or holy evening . Its origins go back hundreds of years and its place in modern day culture is continuously evolving. A multitude of cultures see this day as the time when the veil between this world and the spirit world is at its thinnest. But, a very large number of people see this day as excuse to dress up, get drunk, and eat candy. So, what is it about Halloween that draws in millions of people every year? Is it a simple case of party fever, or is it something much more spellbinding? While not definite, many scholars believe All Hallows Eve began as a Christianized feast influenced by Celtic harvest festivals including possible pagan roots, particularly the Gaelic festival Samhain. Other scholars maintain that it originated independently of Samhain and has solely Christian roots. Historian Nicholas Rogers notes that while some folklorists have detected its origins in the Roman feast of Pomona, the goddess of fruits and seeds, or in the festival of the dead called Parentalia, it is more typically linked to the Celtic festival of Samhain , which comes from the Old Irish for summer s end . It was held on or around the 31st of October through the 1st of November and kindred festivals were held at the same time of year by the Brittonic Celts; for example Calan ... Frames are intellectual stereotypes that make the interpretation of the world around us easy by filtering out details that we believe or have found in the past to be insignificant. This simplification sometimes has its own problems that can in turn be addressed by reframing. The deliberate and conscious management, reformation and refinement of frames that aims to address and minimize the conflict between how things are and how one perceives it, is called reframing. • 39. The Importance Of Fresh Water Invertebrates Fresh water invertebrates rely on many things to help them survive in the river and other bodies of water. The water quality must be the right pH, temperature, dissolved oxygen levels and conductivity levels in the water for the invertebrates to survive. Fresh water invertebrates are important for the ecosystem as they feed on mosses on the rocks and provide food for predators to keep the ecosystem together. Water quality is important because if it is poor then the animals, not only livestock but domestic pets, will be affected by it because they would drink from the river. Not only do animals drink from it but water is also extracted from this river for human consumption as drinking water, therefore if diseases get in to water it can also have consequences on humans as well as animals. (find evidence) The quality of the water can affect the way in which the ecosystem can change as if the water quality becomes poor then this can influence not only the invertebrates themselves but those species that eat these invertebrates (Wren Stephenson, 1991). Therefore, the whole food chain would be broken as the predators would have nothing to eat so would then they will also start to die. By monitoring what freshwater invertebrates are in each section of the river, we can check what the water quality in the water is like as certain invertebrates survive in different conditions (look up what invertebrates survive better in acid and alkaline water). • 40. Similarities Between The Scottsboro Boys And To Kill A... The Scottsboro Trials Influence The Scottsboro trial of the 1930 s is still one of the most famous racial cases today. It impacted the legal system and changed the course of history for years to come. It has even influenced and inspired literary work such as Tom Robinson s case in Harper Lee s To Kill a Mockingbird. The similarities between the Scottsboro case and Tom Robinson s case heavily outweigh the differences. Thus it can be concluded that without the Scottsboro case To Kill a Mockingbird would not have the storyline readers know today. The Scottsboro trials began on March 25, 1931 in the town of Scottsboro, AL. The case consisted of 9 black boys being accused of raping 2 white women on a train they had been aboard. The boys accused, later known as the Scottsboro boys were Olen Montgomery, Clarence Norris, Haywood Patterson, Ozie Powell, Andy Wright, Roy Wright, Charles Weems, Eugene Williams and Willie Roberson, ranging in age from 12 to 20. The two white women claiming they were raped were Victoria Price and Ruby Bates. To Kill a Mockingbird, although written in 1960, takes place in the 1930 s during the Great Depression. The quiet town of Maycomb, in Alabama is disturbed when Mayella Ewell, a white woman, accuses Tom Robinson, a black man of raping her. The Scottsboro case is still one of the most famous cases from the Jim Crow era and it is clear that it influenced Tom Robinson s case. From just the foundations of the two cases it is obvious there are many parallels between them. The Scottsboro case and Tom Robinson s case both took place in the 1930 s during the Great Depression. Tom Robinson and the Scottsboro boys are also accused of the same crime. Although the Scottsboro case involves 9 boys and 2 women and the other case only includes 1 man and 1 woman it is clear what Harper Lee was trying to represent. In both cases there was an extreme lack of evidence, Ruby Bates testified that she was beaten and bruised by the repeated rapes and that she lost consciousness, regaining consciousness only when she found herself on the way to the Scottsboro jail. In fact, numerous witnesses and the arresting officers saw her fully conscious when she and the boys were taken off the train. The physician ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
