IMPORTANCE OF A
MAGAZINE ADVERT
Elite Records
WHAT IS A MAGAZINE ADVERT?
A magazine advert is simply a company advertising their new product
in a magazine, for example a new album or a tour.
It is important to have a magazine advert because it’s a form of promotion,
this meaning the more people who know about the upcoming album or tour
will be aware of it, therefore they’ll buy it, this leading to more profits for the
artist. Also, if the music label promotes the new album in the correct
magazine, then the right audience will be targeted. Also, in a magazine
advert the pictures are clearer, therefore people will get a better idea of what
the new album or tour is about.
WHY IS ADVERTISING IN A
MAGAZINE IMPORTANT?
 Focuses on one thing, the picture shown is the focal point and people are
going to be attracted to it if it’s an eye catching picture.
Targeted: readers are attracted to different things, there are different
magazines for each section, for example music, fashion, sport etc. Companies
can use magazines to reach their target audience easily.
Relevant: adverts are a main part in magazines, without them readers
wouldn’t value the magazine as much.
Leads to readers researching into the advert more, they go onto websites and
social media to find out more.
Magazines sell meaning they’re very popular, this helps sales increase for
companies.
