2. Attracting the audience was
simple because in many magazine
a large key image is important as
it attracts the audience to the
front cover when they then read
the front cover they notice the
band and this attracts the viewer
when the magazine is on a shelf.
They then read the other text
which advertises other features in
the magazine; this entices them
to pick up the magazine and flick
to the contents where they see
features with the most popular
bands listed with articles this will
address the audience because
they will see the varied bands and
articles and know that there will
be something that they like
reviewed/acknowledged in the
magazine.
3. The magazine also has bright
colours to attract the
audience with reds scattered
and a white background
stands out from other
magazines due to its layout.
The magazine addresses the
audience using the big
headline ‘The Upsides’ this
addresses the audience
telling them about whats
inside the magazine and
instantly attracting their fan
base without even seeing
what else is in the magazine
all because, they will want
KER-PUNK to read about
their favourite band.
4. When reading the front cover the
audience would quickly notice the
multiple sections of advertising text
attracting them to want to know whats
inside. This is why the decision was
made to include a lots of well known
Pop Punk bands on the front cover for
example Gnarwolves. This attracts
even more fans due to the amount of
big name bands involved with every
edition, increasing the amount of
people attracted to and hopefully
buying the magazine. The reviews
section also attracts the new fans who
want to listen to Pop Punk, so want
know what bands are best to listen to
as they are new to the genre and this
also influences and improves then
relationship between magazine and fan
as a trust will be built as per the
reputation of the magazines reviews
and how trustworthy and influential
these reviews are.
5. Another factor that would address
the audience is the free posters
available as advertising by the
colourful banner at the top. First of
all the posters are another way of
improving fan and magazine
relations as they add to the buyers
perceived gain from the magazine
as well as the bands giving
something to the fans therefore
advertising themselves, the
magazine and the genre. Secondly,
the posters are free and not having
to be bought separately form a
website/store like HMV, this means
that buyers will keep purchasing
the magazine every time a band
they listen to is featured in a
poster, further increasing the
magazines popularity.
