Solar System-the sun and all of the bodies that orbit it make up the solar system. This includes the planets and their moons, as well as comets, asteroids, meteoroids, and any other bits of rock or dust. The main parts of our solar system are eight planets, an asteroid belt, and three dwarf planets.

Vita in Campagna

Per informazioni: info@accademiatelematica.it

Comparison of proxies of solar activity. Each proxy reflects a specific aspect of solar activity. As a result, all proxies show some common features (11-year cycle, trends, solar minima), but also differences. The length is limited to the periods of instrumental observations and ranges from 25 years (TSI) to about 400 years (sunspots). No aurora counts could be found for the period since 1955. 10Be is the only record which is not based on direct observations and, therefore has the potential to be extended over at least 10,000 years. The Dye 3 ice core used for the 10Be analysis was drilled in 1985 (Beer et al ., 1990).
Recent CO2 concentrations and emissions. (a) CO2 concentrations (monthly averages) measured by continuous analysers over the period 1970 to 2005 from Mauna Loa, Hawaii (19°N, black; Keeling and Whorf, 2005) and Baring Head, New Zealand (41°S, blue; following techniques by Manning et al., 1997). Due to the larger amount of terrestrial biosphere in the NH, seasonal cycles in CO2 are larger there than in the SH. In the lower right of the panel, atmospheric oxygen (O2) measurements from fl ask samples are shown from Alert, Canada (82°N, pink) and Cape Grim, Australia (41°S, cyan) (Manning and Keeling, 2006). The O2 concentration is measured as ‘per meg’ deviations in the O2/N2 ratio from an arbitrary reference, analogous to the ‘per mil’ unit typically used in stable isotope work, but where the ratio is multiplied by 106 instead of 103 because much smaller changes are measured.
