Game Title

Far Cry 3

Provide detailed descriptions from chosen examples that establish…

Clearly state what production technique(s) you think have
been used to create specific soundtrack elements

Setting

You can hear water rushing in the background as well as the sound of people
fighting. Near the end you hear a loud splash followed by the sound of fabric being
dragged across the floor and wind rushing past you making it sound like the
character has been dragged of a cliff.

The rushing of water and splashing could have
been recorded and used straight away. The sound
of being dragged across the floor and falling could
have been done by dragging the microphone
across the floor and dropping it.

Mood

There is a very tense consistent droning in the background which gets more intense
near the end of the clip followed by an underwater mood with the sound of water
and bubbles.

The droning could have been done in editing after
being recorded. The underwater sound will have
been done either through recording or editing.

Game genre

The sound of fighting in the background makes the game sound like an action and
the ambient sounds of water and the slight echoing makes it seem like its outdoors.
That gives it an adventure feeling.

The sound of fighting will have been created by
modifying another sound in editing and the
ambient sounds will have been recorded.

Narrative

The main speaker talks slowly at first but gets quicker, louder and more aggressive
through the clip. The way he talks about subjects like murder so calmly makes him
seem insane, which is shown later on when he repeats the first line of the dialog at
the end

It was recorded and possibly edited.
