Iran s Iran Nuclear Program And Us Israel Relationship
Introduction:
Iran s clerical regime with a highly complicated government structure is an emergent economy in the
Middle East. While the historical hostility between the countries, is more than the Iran s nuclear
program, but now the center of debates are Iran s nuclear program and US Israel relationship. The
Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) has reduced tensions between both countries. However,
Israel and Saudi Arabia, two allies of the US and adversaries of Iran has opposed the agreement. Iran
is till considered a threat to the US national interest and security. The risks cannot be eliminated only
by military means, but it requires a comprehensive strategy. It is important to reduce the capability of
Iran and change its intention. The best possible way to do this is supporting a gradual political
transition of power from an extremist religious leader to the Iranian nation.
Iran in a Glance:

Armenia, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, and Turkmenistan, Iran is 1,648,195 sq km large. It

Tears Go Into The Urn Fay Lanser Essay
Tears Go Into the Urn Fay Lanser Savage Girl Sophie Rubenstein In addressing the savage girl I will
say in words that are rushed and spilling from my mouth: Hey you, savage girl; spit in the corners of
your tulip lips, your hair is a mess savage girl, did you know? And the savage girl will respond, words
not rushed but kind, yes I know my hair is a mess, yes I know my savage lips are snarled, my shirt
unbottoned and falling off my savage breast. And I will say, Where is your mother savage girl? and
she will respond, My mother is still living in savage country with her savage lover who she fucks
regularly, her house stands tall ontop a steep hill and a savage moonbeam lights her silhouette as she
rides a strong cock, yes I said cock, her breast eats the moon and she screams, yes, yes, yes, and the
savage girl will ask, What s it to you? and I will say, Your savage nature descridits all female sex, and
the savage girl, now interfacing with someone she thinks of as far beneath her, will say, I may be the
savage girl but your heart is more savage than mine, it is black and dusted and in great contrast to the
pastel button down shirts that your wear like a flag of medoracracy. In addressing the savage girl I will

Marge Piercy Barbie Doll Analysis
The standards of women since early history has always been set to an unrealistic bar, that make girls
around the world feel insecure and unworthy of being beautiful. Society has cemented views of
women and what they should look and act like based on things like makeup, body figure, clothing, etc.
Women from all places are urged to alter their appearances in order to fall into the category of
beautiful. The impulse for women to paint their face is due to the fear of other people not seeing them
as attractive (Warren par. 7). The perfect female is thought to have flawless skin, perfect make up, and
a slim body. Hiding behind a full face of makeup discriminates women themselves, as it hides their
genuine glamor and disguises their true ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All three examples link to basic female customs that all women are expected to exhibit. The baby dolls
allude to the stigma that all women are expected to have children and be the main care giver to them
throughout their childhood. Stay at home mothers were extremely common during the time Barbie
Doll was written, and second wave feminism was just a fresh idea that would soon begin to change the
discrimination of gender in the work force. This idea is linked to the GE stoves reference, portraying
how women s only importance was to stay home and cook for the men in the family, spending their
time in between tiding the house throughout the day. Andrei Cimpian, a psychology professor at New
York University, states in an article by the National Science Foundation that Not only do we see that
girls just starting out in school are absorbing some of society s stereotyped notions of brilliance, but
these young girls are also choosing activities based on these stereotypes. This is heartbreaking
(Margetta). The stereotype of brilliance that Cimpian mentions is the fact that most young girls believe
that boys will always be the smarter gender and will always outdo females in raw brainpower due to
the negative stereotypes that float around in society (Margetta). The reputation of this fact is only
shaming girls to end up as a stay at home mom, and not even give the effort to reach for their
aspirations (Margetta). Piercy s last item stated was

Doomsday, seriously, Cat Noir says, chuckling as he glances at Ladybug.
Hawk Moth has to be running out of names for these supervillains by now, Ladybug says, groaning as
she glances at Cat Noir.

It s time for me to face Hawk Moth alone, Madama Butterfly says bravely as she takes off towards the
Agreste Mansion.
So, with that, Madama Butterfly flies towards the Agreste Mansion breaking the doors down, and she
flies towards Gabriel Agreste s office.
Anyway, when she gets there she stops at the painting that has Mrs. Agreste in it, and she tries to
remember how to open the entrance to Hawk Moth s Lair.
Suddenly, she remembers, and with that, she pushes two holes in the painting in, and a panel appears.
10 Madama Butterfly rides the panel down into Hawk Moth s Lair and she sees that Marinette and
Adrien are in a cage.
Madama leave, it s a trap, Marinette says as she glances at Madama Butterfly.

Bottle Mold Research Paper
Mold can be very dangerous, and unfortunately, it is found in many homes, especially in kitchens.
People should seriously take precautions and avoid a situation like this, in order to protect their health.
If you would like to find more information about this subject, then here is how to keep mold from
growing in your kitchen. Make sure that you use the exhaust fan when you cook Lots of people forget
to use the exhaust fan while they cook, and this is not very good, due to the fact that the humidity will
be higher in the room, and in time mold will definitely develop. It is highly recommended that you use
it every time you cook, in order to avoid this sort of situations. These devices are quite loud and they

If there is mold, then the humidity level is without a doubt very high. In order to keep it under control
it is highly recommended that you use a device like this. Dehumidifiers are very good at reducing
humidity indoors, leaving the air very clean and fresh. Mold can produce wheezing, sneezing, skin
rashes, problems to the respiratory system, and watery eyes. Furthermore, people who suffer from
different types of allergies and asthma will deal with a worsening of their condition. Therefore, it is
very important that once you have found mold in your home, you should definitely purchase a
dehumidifier. Another important benefit that a device like this brings is the fact that a less humid
indoor air will prolong the life of your wooden furniture, which otherwise can seriously be affected.
Dehumidifiers are certainly great units that can prevent the development of mold, and it can also help

Slavery In The Antebellum American South
Race as a social construct, a pseudo biological concept, and an identifying demographic has
undeniably been ubiquitous in the history of human otherness. In particular, the ascribing of racial
identities to a group, or racialization , has played a vital role in the conception and development of
minority groups. This phenomenon continues to shape ideas about race and ethnicity, albeit in less
dramatic ways than in the antebellum South. Nevertheless, people blinded by privilege claim that they
are colorblind or that society has moved into a post racial paradigm. It is, therefore, especially relevant
to examine processes of racialization that have defined and maintained the social concept of race
throughout history. A prominent historical instance of racialization that influenced modern day race
identity is the objectification and commoditization of black people in Southern slave markets of the
antebellum era. As a consequence of the chattel principle, which defined a slave s existence as
property of a slaveholder, Black Americans identities were permanently altered by those who used
their positions of power to subjugate and dehumanize them, either deliberately or tacitly. Specifically
through association between race and physical or mental ability, and false medicalization of issues in
slave populations, slave traders, slaveholders, and others who endorsed chattel slavery perpetuated the
racialization of black slaves. Slavery in the antebellum American South was

Occurrence At Owl Creek Bridge Reality
Everyone can say they have fallen into a deep sleep and have had a series of thoughts, images, and
sensations occur in their mind. We often times combine elements to stimulate emotions in a more
advanced way. Many can say they have awoken in terror, or never wanted the thought to end. But can
you recognize reality from fantasy? There is much to wonder in the world of sleep and daydreaming.
Neural bustle in the primary sensory areas of the neocortex (a part of the cerebral cortex concerned
with sight and hearing in mammals, regarded as the most recently evolved part of the cortex.) create
the premonition of a sensory perception: the production of a dream. The elaborate detail and imagery

combined with irony, vivid details, and similes to build a mood.
Symbolism plays a salient effect in that it builds a mood. The bridge and the driftwood are the two
most vital symbols in the story. Through the symbolism irony is created, setting the situation
differently than anticipated. Peyton Farquhar, a civilian, passionate about the Southern cause was
tricked by an union scout, and drawn to the bridge where a Union blockade was stationed. A bridge
can be used to exemplify the bringing of two parts to unify them as one. The irony associated with the
symbolism of the bridge did not represent the bringing of both the Northern and Southern cause

Pros And Cons Of Anti War Movement
Anti war Movement A. There were few pros to the war. The vast majority of opinions during this
movement were against the war. The United States sided with Northern Vietnam but stated that though
we could help with equipment and strategy, they must be the ones to win, or loose the war. The US did
not inform citizens of what was truly going on, nor why we were being dragged into this ware. We in
many ways fueled this war and should have been held responsible for the devastation that would
ensue. It is important the we realize the true nature of war and don t only believe that the governments
reasons to be in such wars are the full truth. No countries in the Geneva Agreement that were
communist were accepting of free election. If they did, they could lose power so there was never any
intention of democracy. Power is the instigator of war and the US was one of the biggest examples of
this during this time. Coming off of victory in WWII, we used our political and global power to assert
our dominance and push democracy throughout Europe and Asia. In the future, we ... Show more

Canada s Nuclear Arms Race
Right after the end of World War II with the Allied forces rejoicing over a marginal victory over
Germany, a new and different kind of war was brewing over the tensions of the Western and Eastern
blocs, a kind that wouldn t be fought on the battlefield. The Cold War began in the year of 1945 and
lasted all the way until 1991. A cause of the Cold War was the tension between two former allies of
World War II, the United States of America and the Soviet Union (also known as the USSR, which
stood for the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics). The United States had a democratic government
and a capitalist economy, while the Soviet Union had a communist government, each trying to spread
their political views and gain world power. Neither of the two ... Show more content on

The Korean War was essentially a war that was started when North Korea decided to invade South
Korea, each backed up by their respective allies. When Canada first intervened in the war, Canada
supplied three Royal Canadian Navy destroyers (HMCS Athabaskan, HMCS Cayuga, and HMCS
Sioux) and a Royal Canadian Air Force transport squadron, the No. 426 Thunderbird Squadron. After
being pressured by the American, UN, and domestic pressure, Prime Minister Louis St. Laurent
announced that the Canadian Army Special Force (CASF), later dubbed the 25th Canadian Infantry
Brigade Group, was to be created and used to expand contributions to South Korea. This was very
important because the extra squadrons and machinery helped turn the tides in many battles within the
war. Canada also contributed 26000 as part of a United Nations force which consisted of 16 countries
at the time. These troops were sent for both combat and for peacekeeping after the war. Out of the 516
Canadians that died, 312 died from combat. The peacekeepers that were left behind after the war
stayed for three years as military observers, and the final few Canadian soldiers left Korea in 1957.
These troops were extremely important to the war because they provided backup and aid to the UN
force, and also acted as peacekeepers after the war was over to ensure that the Korean War wouldn t
have a repeat. Lastly, Canadian forces helped

Laura from The Garden Party is thoughtful of other people. She has also questioned about class
society and how it has shaped her life. As Laura is uncomfortable as she is seeing the dead man and
says sympathetically Forgive my hat as she is self conscious about her hat and the rest of her outfit.
But suddenly realises that seeing the dead man was rather peaceful. Laura ignores what society says
and looks on the other side of life.
A reason why Laura s relationship with the fat man is important is because she felt sympathy for him
and his family. How her frock shone! And the big hat with the velvet streamer if only there was
another hat! she thins as she realises she is in an inappropriate dress. Compared to the women in
shawls and tweed caps who hurried by, is if she was a know all duchess. Laura herself feels the
journey towards emotional maturity and found tranquillity seeing the fat man and his family. It has
made her more mature like a woman more than her mother.
Another reason why Laura s relation with the fat man helps the reader understand the text is that she
begins to accept the criticism the way people of class distinction to rule their lives, as she is from an
upper class family unlike the dead mans. No, she sobbed. It was simply marvellous, as she told Laurie
the experience of seeing the lower class people and how they re no different to us. We understand that

The Sinaloa Cartel Is The Premier Drug Trafficking...
The Sinaloa Cartel is the premier drug trafficking organization in Mexico. The cartel is based out of
Sinaloa, Mexico. Unlike many of the Mexican cartels, the Sinaloa Cartel exports large quantities of
multiple drugs into the United States. Pablo Escobar is considered one of the most notorious drug
lords in history. Escobar s cartel was only in charge of exporting cocaine into the United States. The
Sinaloa Cartel exports cocaine, methamphetamines, and marijuana into the United States. The leader
of the Sinaloa Cartel is Joaquin el chapo Guzman. While El Chapo is a very well known international
drug kingpin, he has proven that he is almost as good at escaping from prison. El Chapo has multiple
prison escapes under his belt. He most recently escaped from the Federal Social Readaptation Center
No. 1, which is a maximum security prison in Mexico. The Sinaloa Cartel was founded by Jaime
Hererra Nevares, Ernesto Fonseca Carillo, Eduardo Fernandez, Jorge Escobar, Pedro Aviles Perez,
Miguel Angel Felix Gallardo, and Hector Luis Palma (Beith, 2011, p. 68). The Sinaloa Cartel is a
culmination of different Mexican drug organizations. Herrera was in charge of an organization that
exported heroine from Mexico through Chicago using what is known as the heroin highway (Beith,
2011). Eventually the Herrera organization teamed up with Ernesto Fonseca and Jorge Escobar who
were key figures in the Sinaloan drug world. The Mexican government launched Operation Condor

The Shroud Of Turin Analysis
The Shroud of Turin is a centuries old linen cloth bearing the image of a man who appears to have
suffered from physical harm in a fashion resembling Roman crucifixion. This image, in accordance
with the belief of millions, is the imprint of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. However, there is much
indecision over its authenticity. Science has not yet come to a conclusion on the legitimacy of the
Shroud. This paper will present the evidence for both the Shroud of Turin s authenticity (that it was
the burial cloth of Jesus), and the reasons for the belief for its possible forgery.
The Shroud of Turin is currently preserved in an underground vault in the Cathedral of Saint John the

Frederick Zugibe examined the Shroud and how accurately the injuries matched the process of
crucifixion. He looked at how the nails were driven through the hands and feet. The shroud shows a
pool of blood near the one visible wrist and the feet looked punctured as if by one nail. Also, as the
romans strike the nail into each hand, the nerve damage causes the thumb to twist inward and under
the palms. A thorough examination of the shroud revealed exactly this. The thumbs were hidden
underneath the palms, just as one would expect. The facial imprint wasn t symmetrical and showed
signs of a beating.
Blood flowing from small cuts that seeped into the material made by the crown of thorns accurately
matched the trail the liquid would follow when the forehead muscles contract in pain. Lacerations
covered the back and a pool of blood was identified in the upper side of the torso, with blood flowing
down from that place. All these injuries were consistent with Jesus described execution. Zugibe stated
that from the Forensic Pathology point of view, it is totally consistent with a crucified individual. I

Theorising Identity and The Search for The Self among the sub continental Diaspora in Britain
Identity has always been a problematic area of interrogation epistemologically, existentially and
politically and it continues to propel our thought. Etymologically, the term is derived from Latin word
Idem meaning same (Oxford Online Dictionary) which means specific quality or condition of being a
specific person or an object . A person s identity is determined in terms of his/her inherited traditions,
particularly the inherited religion of the community in which they happen to be born, the place and

The concept of Identity has been defined and studied in different fields of studies ranging from
Psychology, Anthropology, Sociology and Cultural Studies.
Recent trends in Psychology on Identity Theory: In the recent past identity is seen as a self narrative
which is held as the base for the construct of a person s identity. The behaviour in salience to the
social setting is the base of identity formation. The Identity Theory (Stryker 1968, 1980, 1989; Stryker
and Serpe 1982, Mc Calls and Simmons 1978, R.H. Turner 1978) explains social behaviour in terms
of the reciprocal relationship between the self and the society . The term is used to define the links
between a multifaceted notion of the self and wider social structure. (Burke 1980; Mc Call and
Simmons 1978; R.H. Turner 1978). It is an extension of the symbolic interactionist theory postulated
by Mead (1934) and Blumer (1969) that society influences social behaviour through its affects on the
self (Micheal A Hogg, et al.). However, the Identity theory rejects the symbolic interactionist theory as
relatively undifferentiated, co operative whole (Stryker 1980, 1987; Stryker and Serpe 1982) and
argues that society is complexly differentiated, but nevertheless organized (Stryker and Serpe
1982:206) and thus predicated the idea of the

Child Beauty Pageants Child Abuse

English 1101
12 January 2014 Title
Although they seem undisputed and lighthearted, child beauty pageants are one of the most
contentious and criticized of all children s activities. While all other types of beauty contests are often
viewed as distasteful, child beauty contests yield an even greater unfavorable response. Many
individuals go as far as critiquing the pageants as being child abuse. Some say the beauty pageants
sexualize the young girls and place unnecessary expectations of beauty at too early of an age.
Contributors argue that the pageants help to build confidence and to teach the girls traits such as
having poise and self control. Child beauty pageants are contests constructed to reward adolescence
for their looks and charisma. There are many different components to every pageant. The children are
often judged on how well they do during their interview, they re judge on their appearance, then on
their talents. The events are set up by age groups, such as 0 to 6, so the criticism is fair. Each age
division winner usually wins a crown or a trophy. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

How Does Napoleon Use Power In Animal Farm
Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world (Mandela). Napoleon
realizes this truth and takes full advantage of it early on in the story. In George Orwell s allegorical
novel Animal Farm, Napoleon seizes control of the now independent farm. He allows the pigs to be
educated and excludes the others. However, he personally educates some puppies, foreseeing them as
a powerful weapon to gain full authority over the animals and to reduce distrust that could lead to
revolt. As he continues to rule, he acquires more power and he uses it to violate and change laws so
that they best benefit him and his reign. Napoleon s main focus in ruling Animal Farm is to lead the
animals away from Animalism, and the animals lack ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Fortunately for him, he already wields the power of education, enabling him to rise almost effortlessly
to power; With their superior knowledge it was natural that they should assume leadership (pg. 21).
This is a subtle infraction of the principles clearly stated in the commandments of Animalism.
Equality is supposed to apply to everyone and every situation, but the animals are accustomed to
having a leader, therefore, it is second nature for them to rely on a person higher than them. Sadly for
the majority of the naïve animals, the pigs ascend to power simply because the weapon of education is
pointing at them and they are found weaponless and unable to defend themselves. Animalism is turned
into an oligarchy, rule by the elite, in this case the pigs are the elite because they are more educated
than the animals. Napoleon not only wants power over the lowly farm animals, but he seeks absolute
control over the entire farm, including the remaining pigs. To do this, he again takes advantage of the
power that lies in education; He said that the education of the young was more important than
anything that could be done for those who were already grown up (pg. 26). To be a leader, it is vital

Canada Essay
In 1783, Canada diversified and split into Upper and Lower Canada, causing Britain to create timber
preferences in 1803. The creation of timber preferences led to differing farmer lumberman economies
in St. John and the Ottawa river valleys (Fowke,1942, 82). Such formations shows exactly how
different needs lead to different economies for different parts of Canada starting at very early stages of
development. Recognizing these differing agricultural and lumber economies is important to the
timeline of Canadian history because these differing factors later influenced provincial separation and
regional uniqueness throughout Canadian territories (Fowke,1942, 82). Differential characteristics

With the implementation of the government incentives, Quebec was able to grow faster and had the
desire to grow. Unfortunately, wheat did not last long as a main export for the Canadian economy and
had to be replaced.
When wheat was no longer used as the main resource of export, Canadian farmers of the Western
Plains shifted from wheat farming to mixed farming, producing beef and cheese for British exports in
the late 19th century (McInnis, 1982, 192). The reason behind the need for this shift was due to the
lowering prices of wheat, which made it no longer profitable as the opportunity costs of using land to
farm wheat became way too high (McInnis, 1982, 194). This transition shows how Canada could
adapt to market changes and push through difficulties while continuing to grow as a country. Although
this may seem like a step in the wrong direction, Canada s agricultural sector was only developing.
The shift from wheat products to a mixed farming economy shows how the variety of Canadian
agriculture has developed and changed over time.
In Quebec and other surrounding areas of French Canadian populations, farmers saw a drop in the
production and consumption of wheat because they were one of the first populations to experience
Western Canadian competition. Also, the French Canadian community realised that they could not
supply enough wheat to support the population of their own province (Jones, 1942, 141). Farmers

Movies As A Significant Role In The Entertainment Industry
According to Barbra Dozier s blog, movies play a significant role in the entertainment industry. They
are appealing to the viewer s eyes and ears because they combine both video and audio and they can
be watched at home, in theatres, and thanks to the latest technology one can even watch movies on the
go. Just like many individuals, I too spend my time watching movies as a form of entertainment. The
latest one I watched and enjoyed was a comedy named The House. Although the movie may have had
mediocre reviews, The House was still funny and enjoyable to watch. The plot and conflict revolve
around two struggling parents who cannot afford to send their sure to succeed daughter to college after
the town s scholarship program no longer had funding. As result the parents and a friend started an
illegal underground casino in his domicile in order to make money before the time to pay their
daughter s tuition came around. The rated R movie directed by Andrew Jay Cohen contains many well
known actors such as Will Ferrell, Amy Poehler, and Jason Mantzoukas.
Although there were well known actors the movie revolved around three. Will Ferrell an American
actor and comedian known for playing the elf in Elf ,played the father Scott Johansen. Amy Poehler
plays Kate Johansen the mother and wife in the movie. Known for her role in the sitcom Parks of
Recreation, Poehler brings some of her comical characteristics to the movie making The House much
more enjoyable to watch. Jason Mantzoukas,

Speech About Magallanes
Magallanes is one of the reasons why the city of Makati is constantly on the move. Its roads are
pivotal access ways that bring commuters from EDSA and the South Expressway to and from the
business district. Though it is a far cry from Philippine s numerous beaches, Magallanes is the perfect
destination for individuals who are into the fast paced lifestyle. At a Glance Magallanes presents itself
like any typical city. Because of its proximity to Makati, its views are dominated by lofty buildings,
concrete highways, and abundant cars. Magallanes also has a residential area, due to its barangay
status, so there are a handful of villages and houses sprawling around. However, Magallanes does
have a couple of nearby locations that take you away from the urban landscape momentarily. And the

The Ethical Theory Of Consequentialism
Introduction
Consequentialism is one of the three main normative ethical theories alongside virtue theory and
deontology. In general, consequentialism holds that the right thing to do in any situation is determined
completely by its consequences. This includes everything that will happen in the world as a result of
the action.
There are a multitude of variations branching from this which may differ in what part of the
consequences they value; and as such have different value theories, but all will agree on the notion
that the ends justify the means. Leaving open how moral goodness is determined, we will look at act
consequentialism as the most basic form of the consequentialist theory. Consequentialism as a whole
faces a lot of criticism, this essay will look into the demandingness objection to act consequentialism
and analyse whether the theory can defend itself through the introduction of rule consequentialism.
Act Consequentialism
Act consequentialism claims the permissibility of an action is based on how good its consequences are
compared with those of its feasible alternatives.
An act is morally right if and only if that act maximizes the good, that is, an act is to be evaluated on
the basis of whether it produces the best possible state of affairs, impartially considered. If it does
produce the best possible state of affairs, then the act is counted as morally required (or morally
permissible if the act is one of many possible acts that produce a state of affairs

The World Of Graphic Design
The world of Graphic Design has been revolutionized time and time again with many artists setting
high standards for aspiring graphic designers. Two artists who are interesting and innovative in their
own ways are graphic designers Chipp Kidd and Jennifer Morla. Kidd has created many design
successes with some of his most famous book jackets being Jurassic Park, Naked by Davis Sedaris
and All the Pretty Horses. The designs of the books are all drastically diverse, making it difficult to
pinpoint the designs to one single artist. However dissimilar the designs are, they have two things in
common; they are innovative and perfectly reflect the content of the pages between the covers.
Jennifer Morla is an artist with a differing career from Kidd. She focuses on branding of companies
rather than book jackets. She has worked with companies such as Levi s, Apple Computer, Design
Within Reach, Wells Fargo, Herman Miller to help form a clean brand for the companies. I am
researching the histories of both Chipp Kidd and Jennifer Morla because they are both trailblazers in
the Graphic Design world and have come from drastically different backgrounds. Their histories and
accomplishments can have a great impact on aspiring graphic designers.
To begin, we will take a trip back in time to the summer of 1964. This was the time when perhaps the
most recognizable book cover designer, Chip Kidd, was born. He grew up in a small town in
Pennsylvania and his infatuation for pop culture and

A Comparison of the Masks In Cold Blood, Streetcar Named...
Peeking Behind the Masks In Cold Blood, Streetcar Named Desire, and Fences
In life, we all attempt to project some kind of personality to others. We have a mask we wear in
different situations, but when times get tough, we eventually discard our masks and become our true
selves. We don t live behind our masks until the tragic end, like the characters of In Cold Blood by
Truman Capote, Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams, and Fences by August Wilson. The
three characters, Perry Smith, Blanche DuBois, and Troy Maxson wore masks to their bitter endings,
always trying to fool everyone else. When times got tough, they had to face themselves, and they
could not stand the sight.
The characters of Blanche ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Harris states that DuBois masks her life. She doesn t want to face what she really is. The worst horror
for her in her mind is for anyone else to see her true self.
The audience does see it almost right away, and they know from the first representation of DuBois that
they are in for something else. Williams sets up DuBois scenes so the audience can quickly ascertain
her true personality. The audience is, however, aware that baths and light bulbs have a meaning for
Blanche apart from their functional existence (Corrigan 575). Mary Ann Corrigan writes that DuBois
is far from perfect, and the audience can see just that in her drinking of alcohol and her slight
comments towards her sister and brother in law (575). Yet, the whole time she is hiding behind her
mask, she tells everyone she only has a drink once in a while, and she needs her baths to relax.
The audience cannot mistake that Dubois does know who she really is, and what her situation holds
for her. For this reason, she chooses to hide behind her mask of a southern belle, with her old dresses,
rituals, and paper shaded light bulbs (Vogel 505).
Dan Vogel states in his book The Three Masks of American Tragedy,
She is beyond the capability of even attempting to control and manipulate the world about her.
Obviously she recognizes truth, and the truth is that her life is compounded

The Drummer Boy Of Shiloh Essay
Shiloh is a wonderfully dramatic battle. The leader of one side is killed, and the other one is going on
to glory, and it was the first great battle. It lasted two days (Shelby Foote). From this quote, you see it
talks about the two sides and one team loses and the other one wins. The title of the book is The
drummer boy of Shiloh which is written by Ray Bradbury. The story takes place in the peach orchard
in the middle of the night. With the story being a historical fiction it mentions peach blossoms. The
peach blossoms symbolizes the divine fruit of the gods with the power to keep you perpetually young.
The blossoms also symbolizes good luck and a state of intense love. Moreover, the characters of this
book are Joby and the General. Joby is the drummer boy for the army. He has just turned 14, and has
been in the army for 3 weeks. The character compares his self by not differing his self. Even though
he and only his drums he still was courageous. He still went to war and tried to protect himself even
without guns and weapons. The General is also a character of the book due to the fact he was the

Descartes Was A Philosopher That Did Not Take Any Truth
Descartes was a philosopher that did not take any truth without questioning it. This is key in truly
understanding the world around us. A real seeker of truth must doubt everything once in their lifetime.
Without doubt, we have no reason. Without reason, we cannot hold any truths to be correct. Descartes
truly understood how the rudiments vested in us by an infinite power play a powerful role in the way
we live today.
1. What is your initial point of view?
My initial point of view is that in order to seek the truth, we must doubt. In doubting, we critically
analyze the reason behind our thought process. What exactly makes a piece of wax that piece of wax?
Is it even wax? We must doubt even the simplest of truths in order to reach a higher state of knowing.
2. How can you define your point of view more clearly?
I can define my point of view more clearly by defining truth and doubt. Truth can be defined as an
idea that holds certainty and be able to question and analyze. Doubt can be defined as uncertainty with
a questionable premise.
3. What is an example of your point of view?
An example of my point of view is in Descartes most noted wax example. We take into consideration
a piece of wax, which has a color, shape, size, and will emit a sound. Once we burn the wax,
everything changes. We don t question that it is the same wax, though. But why? How do we know
that it is the same wax? Descartes did exactly this, and concluded that what he saw he grasped solely

Traditional vs. Modern Society Essay example
Traditional vs. Modern Society
In today s world, the modern person is educated, independent and aggressive. To be a success, you
must put forth your most competitive side and win it all. Nothing less will be permitted. This is the
mindset of most business tycoons, stockbrokers and the like. However, on the other side of the globe,
third world countries follow a more traditional lifestyle where the outlook on life is a little less
malicious. In these countries, the society s idea of success is being part of a large family with
prosperous crops and livestock. How is it that our society and theirs have both been successful? And
why has the traditional way of life stayed so prevalent in such an industrialized world?
First, what exactly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Females do give birth to the children, but in these societies, a female is more like a piece of property
than of heritage. Marriage in these societies is usually based on the best dowry, rather than being
based on love like most modern marriages.
Traditional societies believe that family heritage is what holds a family together. These societies have
ascriptive values, meaning to follow their family s ancestry and way of life. In modern culture, an
individual has the power to decide for him/herself as to what he/she wants to attain in life including an
education, career and mate. To those of us living in a modern world, traditional societies may seem to
have it rough. However, to those living the traditional way, their life is set for them. They need not
worry about how powerful they will be or how much money they will make. Their life brings them
security.
Medical knowledge is less than adequate in these societies, leading to much illness and a very high
death rate. The infant mortality rate is overwhelmingly high, which is a reason for the high birth rates.
Many infants do not make it through their first year of life before they get deathly ill most of them do
eventually die from their illness. The medical technology of modern society is so expensive to third
world countries, making it extremely difficult for their society to stay healthy. Life expectancy is
about 40 45 years in traditional societies.

which is approximately a 50% increase. This shows that Germany managed to put its economy in an
upward trend, although the Eurozone was struggling with its economic growth, particularly during
2009 and 2010. Similarly, GNI per capita of Germany in 2004 was $29,938.63, yet by 2011, the GNI

Moreover, the fact that the government kept its stability of tax revenue even during 2009 and 2010
when Eurozone crisis occurred, shows that Germany s economic health was still relatively good even
when crisis occurred around Europe. We assume that the tax revenue in 2011 was about 37%, seeing
the overall trend of tax revenue. As mentioned before, this means that Germany has had a stable
economic health throughout the 7 years, considering the fact that the tax revenue has not gone up or
down by a great number. Current account balance of payments was positive value throughout the 7
years, showing that the amount of exports from Germany exceeded the amount of imports. That shows
that country is making profit overall, by exporting and importing with other countries, yet exporting
great amount, enough to keep the country earning profits. Moreover, the fact that the current account
balance of payments went up from 4.6% to 5.7% shows that the country managed to widen the
difference between the amount of exports and imports even more, to bring more profit into Germany.
Germany did a fine job in keeping the unemployment rate low. In fact, Germany managed to cut the
unemployment rate by almost a half, from 10.5% in 2004, to 5.9% in 2011. This means that there are
more jobs available in Germany now than in 2004. According to the circular flow of income, this
means that there is more money going around, prospering the

Odyssey Death and Rebirth in the Odyssey
The Odyssey, by Homer, is a classical piece of Greek literature. Throughout
The Odyssey, the Blind Bard makes use of many literary techniques in order
to lend meaning to the poem beyond its existence as a work of historic fiction
and aid his readers in the comprehension of the tale. One of these techniques
is the use of motifs. A motif is a recurring theme that is used throughout the
work. In The Odyssey, Homer makes use of many motifs including
eating/drinking, Odysseus s anger, bathing, and disguise, just to name a few.
However, perhaps the most important of Homer s motifs is the symbolic death
and rebirth theme. This motif is used throughout The Odyssey to emphasize

Cyclops, if
any mortal man ever asks you who it was that inflicted upon your eye this
shameful blinding, tell him that you were blinded by Odysseus, sacker of cities
(IX. 502 4). The symbolic rebirth of Odysseus can be emphasized by the
cave, which can be seen as a symbol of the womb, therefore making
Odysseus emergence from the cyclops s cave a true rebirth. The next
example of the death and rebirth motif is a rather obvious one that needs little
symbolic inference: Odysseus s descent into the underworld in book XI. Homer
uses many light and dark references to emphasize the death and rebirth
theme in this book darkness symbolizing death and light symbolizing life and
therefore rebirth. . . .how is it then, unhappy man, you have left the sunlight
and come here to look on dead men, and this place without pleasure? (XI.
93 4). While in the underworld, Odysseus gains insights about his eventual
return home. With this knowledge, Odysseus and his crew return to the world
of the living, symbolizing their rebirth. Again, light and dark images are used to
emphasize this rebirth. . . .where Helios, the sun, makes his uprising . . . (XII.
4). As illustrated in the preceding line, Odysseus returns from the Underworld
to the place where the sun rises the symbolism is obvious. The

them if I decided on something.
When I got home that day, I did my homework started to play my Xbox. While I was playing, I started
to think of all the pros of going out for wrestling. I was think for about a minute when I came up with

couple hours to get my homework done. I know it sounds like a lot of time, but it isn t for a teenager
who wants to have time to play his Xbox. Another con is, I would have to get up at 6:30 for
Wednesday practices because practice starts at 6:45 in the morning! The reason why they do that after
school is because some kids go to a youth group after school on Wednesdays. The third and final con
that I have been, I could get mat diseases or an injury. If you don t know what a mat disease is, it is a
disease that you get from wrestling on a sweaty mat. Some examples are ring worm, impetigo (that I

Violation Of Nonverbal Communication Violations

Superheroes In The Watchmen Character Analysis
I heard joke once: Man goes to doctor. Says he s depressed. Life seems harsh, and cruel. Says he feels
all alone in threatening world. Doctor says: Treatment is simple. The great clown Pagliacci is in town.
Go see him. That should pick you up. Man bursts into tears. But doctor... he says I am Pagliacci. Good
joke. Everybody laugh. Roll on snare drum. Curtains (Moore. 64).
The quote is a perfect representation of how complex and psychologically damaged the characters
truly are, proof of their sad and lonesome lives. Almost all of the characters had some sort of dark and
significant event which allowed them to become what they are known as. Thus, transforming them
into characters hardly any normal person can relate with, a chain each one of the characters must bear.
Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? (Who watches the watchmen?) Superheroes in the Watchmen are given
liberties to enact certain rules, but how does the public really know if said heroes are following the
same rules they abide. It is a testament to the large amount of power granted to certain authoritative
figures and how that said figure is able to abuse that power. I believe that these two quotes in a way,
coincide, while the Watchmen are rescuing others, who is there to rescue the Watchmen? That sad and
unpleasant truth is evidence, that in the end, there is simply no one that can offer Pagliacci the
treatment he desperately needs.
Is this what happens to us? A life of conflict with no time for friends... so that when it s done, only our
enemies leave roses (Moore. 43).
Stated by Rorschach after the death of the Comedian, the quote represents the burdens of a busy life of
crime fighting and its effect towards the man under the mask. The Comedian, due to his behavior and
lack morals, was disliked by the heroes fought beside him, thus, often being lonely. In itself is a
tragedy, that the character who is named The Comedian , was never really happy, despite always
having a grin and his signature smiley face button.

way Sonny s brother describes their relationship based on what he observes, hears, and feels, and how

The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) has reduced tensions between both countries. However, Israel and Saudi Arabia, two allies of the US and adversaries of Iran has opposed the agreement. Marge Piercy Barbie Doll Analysis The standards of women since early history has always been set to an unrealistic bar, that make girls around the world feel insecure and unworthy of being beautiful. Society has cemented views of women and what they should look and act like based on things like makeup, body figure, clothing, etc. Women from all places are urged to alter their appearances in order to fall into the category of beautiful. The impulse for women to paint their face is due to the fear of other people not seeing them as attractive (Warren par. 7). The perfect female is thought to have flawless skin, perfect make up, and a slim body. The baby dolls allude to the stigma that all women are expected to have children and be the main care giver to them throughout their childhood. Stay at home mothers were extremely common during the time Barbie Doll was written, and second wave feminism was just a fresh idea that would soon begin to change the discrimination of gender in the work force. This idea is linked to the GE stoves reference, portraying how women s only importance was to stay home and cook for the men in the family, spending their time in between tiding the house throughout the day. Andrei Cimpian, a psychology professor at New York University, states in an article by the National Science Foundation that Not only do we see that girls just starting out in school are absorbing some of society s stereotyped notions of brilliance, but these young girls are also choosing activities based on these stereotypes. This is heartbreaking (Margetta). The stereotype of brilliance that Cimpian mentions is the fact that most young girls believe that boys will always be the smarter gender and will always outdo females in raw brainpower due to the negative stereotypes that float around in society (Margetta). The reputation of this fact is only shaming girls to end up as a stay at home mom, and not even give the effort to reach for their aspirations (Margetta). Piercy s last item stated was ... Slavery In The Antebellum American South Race as a social construct, a pseudo biological concept, and an identifying demographic has undeniably been ubiquitous in the history of human otherness. In particular, the ascribing of racial identities to a group, or racialization , has played a vital role in the conception and development of minority groups. This phenomenon continues to shape ideas about race and ethnicity, albeit in less dramatic ways than in the antebellum South. Nevertheless, people blinded by privilege claim that they are colorblind or that society has moved into a post racial paradigm. It is, therefore, especially relevant to examine processes of racialization that have defined and maintained the social concept of race throughout history. A prominent historical instance of racialization that influenced modern day race identity is the objectification and commoditization of black people in Southern slave markets of the antebellum era. As a consequence of the chattel principle, which defined a slave s existence as property of a slaveholder, Black Americans identities were permanently altered by those who used their positions of power to subjugate and dehumanize them, either deliberately or tacitly. Specifically through association between race and physical or mental ability, and false medicalization of issues in slave populations, slave traders, slaveholders, and others who endorsed chattel slavery perpetuated the racialization of black slaves. We often times combine elements to stimulate emotions in a more advanced way. Many can say they have awoken in terror, or never wanted the thought to end. But can you recognize reality from fantasy? There is much to wonder in the world of sleep and daydreaming. Neural bustle in the primary sensory areas of the neocortex (a part of the cerebral cortex concerned with sight and hearing in mammals, regarded as the most recently evolved part of the cortex.) create the premonition of a sensory perception: the production of a dream. The bridge and the driftwood are the two most vital symbols in the story. Through the symbolism irony is created, setting the situation differently than anticipated. Peyton Farquhar, a civilian, passionate about the Southern cause was tricked by an union scout, and drawn to the bridge where a Union blockade was stationed. A bridge can be used to exemplify the bringing of two parts to unify them as one. The United States sided with Northern Vietnam but stated that though we could help with equipment and strategy, they must be the ones to win, or loose the war. The US did not inform citizens of what was truly going on, nor why we were being dragged into this ware. We in many ways fueled this war and should have been held responsible for the devastation that would ensue. It is important the we realize the true nature of war and don t only believe that the governments reasons to be in such wars are the full truth. No countries in the Geneva Agreement that were communist were accepting of free election. If they did, they could lose power so there was never any intention of democracy. Power is the instigator of war and the US was one of the biggest examples of this during this time. Canada s Nuclear Arms Race Right after the end of World War II with the Allied forces rejoicing over a marginal victory over Germany, a new and different kind of war was brewing over the tensions of the Western and Eastern blocs, a kind that wouldn t be fought on the battlefield. The Cold War began in the year of 1945 and lasted all the way until 1991. A cause of the Cold War was the tension between two former allies of World War II, the United States of America and the Soviet Union (also known as the USSR, which stood for the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics). The United States had a democratic government and a capitalist economy, while the Soviet Union had a communist government, each trying to spread their political views and gain world power. The Korean War was essentially a war that was started when North Korea decided to invade South Korea, each backed up by their respective allies. When Canada first intervened in the war, Canada supplied three Royal Canadian Navy destroyers (HMCS Athabaskan, HMCS Cayuga, and HMCS Sioux) and a Royal Canadian Air Force transport squadron, the No. 426 Thunderbird Squadron. After being pressured by the American, UN, and domestic pressure, Prime Minister Louis St. Laurent announced that the Canadian Army Special Force (CASF), later dubbed the 25th Canadian Infantry Brigade Group, was to be created and used to expand contributions to South Korea. This was very important because the extra squadrons and machinery helped turn the tides in many battles within the war. Canada also contributed 26000 as part of a United Nations force which consisted of 16 countries at the time. These troops were sent for both combat and for peacekeeping after the war. Out of the 516 Canadians that died, 312 died from combat. The peacekeepers that were left behind after the war stayed for three years as military observers, and the final few Canadian soldiers left Korea in 1957. But suddenly realises that seeing the dead man was rather peaceful. Laura ignores what society says and looks on the other side of life. Compared to the women in shawls and tweed caps who hurried by, is if she was a know all duchess. Laura herself feels the journey towards emotional maturity and found tranquillity seeing the fat man and his family. It has made her more mature like a woman more than her mother. Unlike many of the Mexican cartels, the Sinaloa Cartel exports large quantities of multiple drugs into the United States. Pablo Escobar is considered one of the most notorious drug lords in history. Escobar s cartel was only in charge of exporting cocaine into the United States. The Sinaloa Cartel exports cocaine, methamphetamines, and marijuana into the United States. The shroud shows a pool of blood near the one visible wrist and the feet looked punctured as if by one nail. Also, as the romans strike the nail into each hand, the nerve damage causes the thumb to twist inward and under the palms. A thorough examination of the shroud revealed exactly this. The thumbs were hidden underneath the palms, just as one would expect. The facial imprint wasn t symmetrical and showed signs of a beating. Blood flowing from small cuts that seeped into the material made by the crown of thorns accurately matched the trail the liquid would follow when the forehead muscles contract in pain. Lacerations covered the back and a pool of blood was identified in the upper side of the torso, with blood flowing down from that place. Recent trends in Psychology on Identity Theory: In the recent past identity is seen as a self narrative which is held as the base for the construct of a person s identity. The behaviour in salience to the social setting is the base of identity formation. The Identity Theory (Stryker 1968, 1980, 1989; Stryker and Serpe 1982, Mc Calls and Simmons 1978, R.H. Turner 1978) explains social behaviour in terms of the reciprocal relationship between the self and the society . The term is used to define the links between a multifaceted notion of the self and wider social structure. (Burke 1980; Mc Call and Simmons 1978; R.H. Turner 1978). It is an extension of the symbolic interactionist theory postulated by Mead (1934) and Blumer (1969) that society influences social behaviour through its affects on the self (Micheal A Hogg, et al.). However, the Identity theory rejects the symbolic interactionist theory as relatively undifferentiated, co operative whole (Stryker 1980, 1987; Stryker and Serpe 1982) and argues that society is complexly differentiated, but nevertheless organized (Stryker and Serpe 1982:206) and thus predicated the idea of the ... While all other types of beauty contests are often viewed as distasteful, child beauty contests yield an even greater unfavorable response. Many individuals go as far as critiquing the pageants as being child abuse. Some say the beauty pageants sexualize the young girls and place unnecessary expectations of beauty at too early of an age. Contributors argue that the pageants help to build confidence and to teach the girls traits such as having poise and self control. Child beauty pageants are contests constructed to reward adolescence for their looks and charisma. There are many different components to every pageant. The children are often judged on how well they do during their interview, they re judge on their appearance, then on their talents. This is a subtle infraction of the principles clearly stated in the commandments of Animalism. Equality is supposed to apply to everyone and every situation, but the animals are accustomed to having a leader, therefore, it is second nature for them to rely on a person higher than them. Sadly for the majority of the naïve animals, the pigs ascend to power simply because the weapon of education is pointing at them and they are found weaponless and unable to defend themselves. Animalism is turned into an oligarchy, rule by the elite, in this case the pigs are the elite because they are more educated than the animals. Napoleon not only wants power over the lowly farm animals, but he seeks absolute control over the entire farm, including the remaining pigs. To do this, he again takes advantage of the power that lies in education; He said that the education of the young was more important than anything that could be done for those who were already grown up (pg. 26). The creation of timber preferences led to differing farmer lumberman economies in St. John and the Ottawa river valleys (Fowke,1942, 82). Such formations shows exactly how different needs lead to different economies for different parts of Canada starting at very early stages of development. With the implementation of the government incentives, Quebec was able to grow faster and had the desire to grow. Unfortunately, wheat did not last long as a main export for the Canadian economy and had to be replaced. When wheat was no longer used as the main resource of export, Canadian farmers of the Western Plains shifted from wheat farming to mixed farming, producing beef and cheese for British exports in the late 19th century (McInnis, 1982, 192). The reason behind the need for this shift was due to the lowering prices of wheat, which made it no longer profitable as the opportunity costs of using land to farm wheat became way too high (McInnis, 1982, 194). This transition shows how Canada could adapt to market changes and push through difficulties while continuing to grow as a country. Although this may seem like a step in the wrong direction, Canada s agricultural sector was only developing. The shift from wheat products to a mixed farming economy shows how the variety of Canadian agriculture has developed and changed over time. In Quebec and other surrounding areas of French Canadian populations, farmers saw a drop in the production and consumption of wheat because they were one of the first populations to experience Western Canadian competition. Also, the French Canadian community realised that they could not supply enough wheat to support the population of their own province (Jones, 1942, 141). Farmers were looking for goods with ... In general, consequentialism holds that the right thing to do in any situation is determined completely by its consequences. This includes everything that will happen in the world as a result of the action. There are a multitude of variations branching from this which may differ in what part of the consequences they value; and as such have different value theories, but all will agree on the notion that the ends justify the means. Leaving open how moral goodness is determined, we will look at act consequentialism as the most basic form of the consequentialist theory. Consequentialism as a whole faces a lot of criticism, this essay will look into the demandingness objection to act consequentialism and analyse whether the theory can defend itself through the introduction of rule consequentialism. Act Consequentialism Act consequentialism claims the permissibility of an action is based on how good its consequences are compared with those of its feasible alternatives. An act is morally right if and only if that act maximizes the good, that is, an act is to be evaluated on the basis of whether it produces the best possible state of affairs, impartially considered. A real seeker of truth must doubt everything once in their lifetime. Without doubt, we have no reason. Without reason, we cannot hold any truths to be correct. Descartes truly understood how the rudiments vested in us by an infinite power play a powerful role in the way we live today. 1. What is your initial point of view? My initial point of view is that in order to seek the truth, we must doubt. In doubting, we critically analyze the reason behind our thought process. What exactly makes a piece of wax that piece of wax? Is it even wax? We must doubt even the simplest of truths in order to reach a higher state of knowing. 2. How can you define your point of view more clearly? I can define my point of view more clearly by defining truth and doubt. Truth can be defined as an idea that holds certainty and be able to question and analyze. Doubt can be defined as uncertainty with a questionable premise. 3. What is an example of your point of view? An example of my point of view is in Descartes most noted wax example. We take into consideration a piece of wax, which has a color, shape, size, and will emit a sound. Similarly, GNI per capita of Germany in 2004 was $29,938.63, yet by 2011, the GNI per capita was $39,943.53. This again shows a positive trend overall, which shows that Germany has been growing gradually as years passed with its economy. Moreover, the fact that the government kept its stability of tax revenue even during 2009 and 2010 when Eurozone crisis occurred, shows that Germany s economic health was still relatively good even when crisis occurred around Europe. We assume that the tax revenue in 2011 was about 37%, seeing the overall trend of tax revenue. As mentioned before, this means that Germany has had a stable economic health throughout the 7 years, considering the fact that the tax revenue has not gone up or down by a great number. Current account balance of payments was positive value throughout the 7 years, showing that the amount of exports from Germany exceeded the amount of imports. That shows that country is making profit overall, by exporting and importing with other countries, yet exporting great amount, enough to keep the country earning profits. Moreover, the fact that the current account balance of payments went up from 4.6% to 5.7% shows that the country managed to widen the difference between the amount of exports and imports even more, to bring more profit into Germany. Germany did a fine job in keeping the unemployment rate low. In fact, Germany managed to cut the unemployment rate by almost a half, from 10.5% in 2004, to 5.9% in 2011. This means that there are more jobs available in Germany now than in 2004. According to the circular flow of income, this means that there is more money going around, prospering the ... • 30. Odyssey Death and Rebirth in the Odyssey The Odyssey, by Homer, is a classical piece of Greek literature. Throughout The Odyssey, the Blind Bard makes use of many literary techniques in order to lend meaning to the poem beyond its existence as a work of historic fiction and aid his readers in the comprehension of the tale. One of these techniques is the use of motifs. A motif is a recurring theme that is used throughout the work. In The Odyssey, Homer makes use of many motifs including eating/drinking, Odysseus s anger, bathing, and disguise, just to name a few. However, perhaps the most important of Homer s motifs is the symbolic death and rebirth theme. This motif is used throughout The Odyssey to emphasize the growth and enlightenment of ... Cyclops, if any mortal man ever asks you who it was that inflicted upon your eye this shameful blinding, tell him that you were blinded by Odysseus, sacker of cities (IX. 502 4). The symbolic rebirth of Odysseus can be emphasized by the cave, which can be seen as a symbol of the womb, therefore making Odysseus emergence from the cyclops s cave a true rebirth. The next example of the death and rebirth motif is a rather obvious one that needs little symbolic inference: Odysseus s descent into the underworld in book XI. Homer uses many light and dark references to emphasize the death and rebirth theme in this book darkness symbolizing death and light symbolizing life and

Over 50 million children all over the United States brought this violence into their homes. The parents and other adults of these children finally decided that the video games in the U.S. had gone too far. This game also led the way for countless other violent video games. I feel as if no one would have made a big deal out of the violence there would not be problems that there are today. As they put stricter ratings on the games it only made people want it more. This game was so popular that there was a movie made after it and all the characters seemed to come to life on the big screen. • 35. Pros And Cons Of Going Out For Wrestling Essay A crucial decision I had to make was when I decided to go out for wrestling. In the winter seventh grade, I wanted to do a winter sport that wasn t basketball. I wasn t going to do a sport until one of my friends told me that I could do wrestling. I told them that I would think about it and that I would tell them if I decided on something. When I got home that day, I did my homework started to play my Xbox. While I was playing, I started to think of all the pros of going out for wrestling. I was think for about a minute when I came up with the first pro. The first pro was I would be with my friends. The first con that I thought of was that I would have a lot less free time than usual. Wrestling practices starts at 3:15 and ends at 5:00, by the time I get home and showered up that leaves me with only a couple hours to get my homework done. I know it sounds like a lot of time, but it isn t for a teenager who wants to have time to play his Xbox. Another con is, I would have to get up at 6:30 for Wednesday practices because practice starts at 6:45 in the morning! The reason why they do that after school is because some kids go to a youth group after school on Wednesdays. The third and final con that I have been, I could get mat diseases or an injury. If you don t know what a mat disease is, it is a disease that you get from wrestling on a sweaty mat. Some examples are ring worm, impetigo (that I have had), boils and many more. When I got impetigo, I had to sit out for three practices and a meet! An injury that you can get can be a broken neck (or any bone) or cauliflower ear. I know now that you can get broken bones because one of my friends broke Draydens arm by trying a chicken wing on him. Another injury that I had myself was when we were practicing a mat return where you pull someone across your body and you take them down, what I got hurt from was when my knee bent side ways because my foot got caught on his ankle when he dragged me. • 36. Violation Of Nonverbal Communication Violations This week I decided the behavior I d choose to violate would be physical appearance and space. I decided on violating these specifically because I felt like these specific nonverbal communication behaviors would generate the most amounts of different reactions from those around me. I also took this as a bit of a challenge for myself as I see myself as someone who is very aware of my physical appearance at all times as well as respectful with it comes to others personal space, so breaking two of my own nonverbal behavior rules would be something different and out of character for me. My first violation was Tuesday morning, I work in the biology department at FIU, so I am always expected to look at least business casual and have your hair nicely done, which usually I ironed mine. This particular day I walked into work wearing sweatpants, a baggy T shirt, and some old gym shoes I ve owned for a few years that were filthy and worn out, my hair was even in its natural afro like curly mess. Giving a massage that I did not care nor did I want to be there, my supervisor got the message loud and clear. Since I was not dressed correctly I was told to put on a giant lab coat to cover up my clothing. When my coworker showed up he thought I looked comfortable and didn t care whether I was dressed in business casual or not! He wasn t the only one who didn t have a problem with my outfit; the other teaching assistants (TA s) kept telling me how envious they were of my very casual and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. Superheroes In The Watchmen Character Analysis I heard joke once: Man goes to doctor. Says he s depressed. Life seems harsh, and cruel. Says he feels all alone in threatening world. Doctor says: Treatment is simple. The great clown Pagliacci is in town. Go see him. That should pick you up. Man bursts into tears. But doctor... he says I am Pagliacci. Good joke. Everybody laugh. Roll on snare drum. Curtains (Moore. 64). The quote is a perfect representation of how complex and psychologically damaged the characters truly are, proof of their sad and lonesome lives. Almost all of the characters had some sort of dark and significant event which allowed them to become what they are known as. Thus, transforming them into characters hardly any normal person can relate with, a chain each one of the characters must bear. Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? (Who watches the watchmen?) Superheroes in the Watchmen are given liberties to enact certain rules, but how does the public really know if said heroes are following the same rules they abide. It is a testament to the large amount of power granted to certain authoritative figures and how that said figure is able to abuse that power. I believe that these two quotes in a way, coincide, while the Watchmen are rescuing others, who is there to rescue the Watchmen? That sad and unpleasant truth is evidence, that in the end, there is simply no one that can offer Pagliacci the treatment he desperately needs. Is this what happens to us? A life of conflict with no time for friends... so that when it s done, only our enemies leave roses (Moore. 43). Stated by Rorschach after the death of the Comedian, the quote represents the burdens of a busy life of crime fighting and its effect towards the man under the mask. The Comedian, due to his behavior and lack morals, was disliked by the heroes fought beside him, thus, often being lonely. In itself is a tragedy, that the character who is named The Comedian , was never really happy, despite always having a grin and his signature smiley face button. Sonny s Blues Sonny s Blues A captivating tale of a relationship between two troubling brothers in Harlem, Sonny s Blues is told from the perception of Sonny s brother, whose name is never mentioned. Baldwin s choice of Sonny s brother as a narrator is what makes Sonny s Blues significant in terms of illustrating the relationship and emotional complications of Sonny and his brother. The significance of Sonny s Blues lies in the way Sonny s brother describes their relationship based on what he observes, hears, and feels, and how he struggles trying to understand Sonny through the course of the story.
