Michael Jordan Obstacles
Michael Jordan is known to many as the world s greatest basketball player, but most people don t
realize how many obstacles he faced in order to succeed. He has missed over and over again in [his]
life and that is why [he] succeeds. People trusted him over and over again and often times he failed.
However, he didn t give up. Michael Jordan s continual trial and error connects to the poem, Mother to
Son and the theme of never giving up no matter how hard the obstacles you face. The poem is about a
mother telling her son how she is still going and how she persevered through the tough obstacles she
faced in life. Therefore, Langston Hughes s Mother to Son portrays a strong and evident theme of
never giving up and overcoming obstacles as you face them. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

For instance, Langston describes the stairs as torn up with splinters and tacks which demonstrates the
obstacles and hardships on the mother s walk of life (Hughes 1). Moreover, these obstacles did not
stop the mother from getting back up. Another example is when the mother tells her son Ise still
climbin (Hughes 19). This reveals that even though the mother faces difficulties, she is still going.
Furthermore, it connects to the theme when the mom is encouraging the son to not give up even when
things are difficult. The imagery in the story proves how the mom is preaching about never giving up

Summary Of On Being A Cripple By Nancy Mair
Often in today s world individuals worry about being politically correct. When being politically
correct one must merely not offend or disadvantage any group in our society. If a person wants to
avoid being called offensive or rude their opinion must never oppose another and always remain
correct in the other s eyes, which is impossible if someone wants to speak their mind or communicate
in today s politics. The point being made is that everyone has their own opinion. Today I will be
discussing two poems, the first is written by Nancy Mairs and the second is by Elizabeth Stanton.
Nancy Mairs wrote On Being a Cripple which is a controversial article due to the reference to the
word cripple . Elizabeth Stanton wrote the second piece called ... Show more content on

Gender Bias For Dress Code
Nineteen percent of the 7,800 students surveyed in middle and high schools across the country said
they were prevented from wearing clothing deemed inappropriate based on their gender... CNN
Student protests growing over gender equal dress codes I think that dress code at school is gender bias
because it s female specific, your socioeconomic status will help determine if you get dress coded or
not, boys don t usually get dress coded like girls do, and girls have a harder time dressing age
appropriate. Females are often targeted for dress code because the dress code lists more restrictions
and allocations for females instead of males. Dress code violations include baring shoulders, wearing
a tank top, or exposing a bra strap. Schools can be petty when getting on to girls for dress code issues.
Neatoday.com says, A female Kentucky student was sent home for showing her collarbone... her Mom
brought a scarf to put around her neck and they still deemed it inappropriate. I personally do not think
showing your collarbone is worth getting in trouble for in school. A Texas honor student gets sent
home for wearing yoga pants and an oversize tee shirt. I honestly do not see how yoga pants and an
oversized tee shirt would be seen as a distraction. Kids come to school to learn not to be in trouble
because of what they wear. Although there are several examples of females being singled out based on
their attire, there are many instances of females purposefully dressed

making a strong foundation for its future in the country. In the initial years of launching the Brand the
founder ventured into India in search of rare and ancient Indian Bronze. So now the company can
come back in order to rejuvenate its old relationship with India. Apart from heritage reasons, it would
also be highly profitable for them to venture out to India as they have been facing losses in their home
country. Also, the brand value of Tiffany s product would be very high, it would become a status
symbol to own a Tiffany s Product in India, which is not only good for the goodwill of the company

Deer Don t Need to Flee to Stay Trouble Free!
Have you ever been in trouble and wanted to get away? The white tailed deer can swim, run, hide, and
fight to stay out of trouble. If you want to know how they do it, read on.
In early April, fawns (baby deer) are born. After a few weeks, the doe (the mother deer) leaves her
fawns to find food. The doe leaves her fawns in a bushy place. The trees and grass can help keep the
fawns from being seen by hungry predators. The white tailed deer has many predators, such as these:
mountain lions, bobcats, leopards, lions, dogs, bears, tigers, coyotes, wolves, and even humans.
The fawns camouflage hides them in April s trees and golden grasses. In spring, the fawns fur is

Everyday Use by Alice Walker an Analysis

Everyday Use Analysis
Everyday Use is a compelling story of a mother s conflicting relationships with her two daughters.
Maggie, which the mother feels contains more practical and traditional ways of living life and then
Dee her oldest and most promising daughter, who she feels has broken away from tradition and has
lost a lot of their heritage. At first glance you would see this as the normal mother daughter spat of
maybe the wild child versus the little miss do right. This story holds a much deeper and important
meaning. Everyday use tells the struggle to keep hold of African American culture in the late 1960 s
early 1970 s, when most African Americans were searching for their roots. Many ... Show more

Dee even had to ask Didn t Uncle Buddy whittle it out of a tree you all used to have ? She did not
know herself, and when her boyfriend (or husband) asked who also made the dasher. She couldn t
reply, instead Maggie did stating Aunt Dee s first husband whittled the dash , and that His name was
Henry, but they called him Stash. This is an inherent meaning that with the transformation to the Black
Panther movement our heritage was being forgotten.
The quilts in this story represent African American heritage, they symbolize the pain, tears and
struggle African Americans had to go through in the United States. The sister s conflict over who
should have the quilts shows the struggle between the Black Power movement and the African
American, and who should define its heritage. Dee when asked what she would do with the quilts, she
stated Hang them . Dee also vagrantly argued that her sister Maggie would use put the quilts to
everyday use . See Dee s argument represents the Black Power movement by using the quilts to hang
as a status symbol, to remind her of the social and economic status she has currently obtained. Maggie
s use symbolizes the African American culture to purely remember the heritage not to rank with
statuses or to compare. Alice Walker distinctively allows us to know which argument she feels is

The theme of carelessness in The Great Gatsby by F. Scott...
I couldn t forgive him or like him, but I saw that what he had done was, to him, entirely justified. It
was all very careless and confused. They were careless people, Tom and Daisy they smashed up things
and creatures and the retreated back into their money or their vast carelessness, or whatever it was the
kept them together, and let other people clean up the mess they had made (Fitzgerald 180 181). In the
novel The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, the characters Daisy and Tom demonstrate the theme of
carelessness. Tom and Daisy show carelessness through being foolish thus lacking a lack of good
sense or judgment. Furthermore, they both show the theme of carelessness by being inconsiderate of
others. The theme of negligence is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You forget there s a lady present, said Jordan. Daisy looked around doubtfully You kiss Nick too.
What a low, vulgar girl!
I don t care! cried Daisy, and began to clog on the brick fireplace. (Fitzgerald 116) It is evident that
Daisy s words I don t care show that she is inconsiderate of other peoples feelings. She rudely shows
her affection for Gatsby in public without considering the fact that Nick and Myrtle are present. In
addition to being inconsiderate of Nick and Jordan, Daisy is inconsiderate to Tom as well. She looked
at him [Tom] blindly. Why how could I love him possibly? (Fitzgerald 132) It is extremely
inconsiderate to be telling Tom the man to whom she is married that she never loved him. Therefore,
even though Tom showed carelessness through being inconsiderate of Daisy, Daisy was the more
careless one because she was inconsiderate of more people as a result of her behaviour. These people
include Nick, Jordan, and Tom.
Finally, both Tom and Daisy show carelessness through being foolish. Tom Buchanan exhibits
foolishness by physically harming Daisy. We all looked. The knuckle was black and blue.
You did it, Tom, she said accusingly.
I know you didn t mean to, but you did do it. That s what I get for marrying a brute of a man, a great,

by acting on impulse, Daisy got injured. Even though Daisy described that Tom did not

Stereotypical Fairytale And Relative Peace
When a child does something wrong, an older, wiser adult is always there to scold them for the
wrongdoing. Inevitably, they are then forced to accept the punishment and guilt that it bears. However,
when they transform into an adult, they are the old, wise adult, and no one is there to scold them. It
must be found within themselves to discern the sin committed and hold the guilt within their own
hearts, but then also forgive themselves for it, of which it is much easier to do as a child. If
unforgiven, the guilt manifests itself within their being, slowly monopolizing on their lives until they
become a mere shell of their prior beings, scarcely able to survive daily life with the blanket of guilt
weighing down so heavily upon them. In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Barely under this facade of composure and innocence, unbeknownst to him, was his rapidly expanding
feeling of dishonor. Not only had he committed an act so unspeakable for the time, but he had also
failed to admit this fault to those who held his holiness above all else. In this way, he felt he had
betrayed the townspeople, of whom he knew their countless sins, and the only person who could ever
truly forgive him: God. As a result of these unforgivable crimes, Dimmesdale subjected himself to a
torture brought about by his own inability to forgive himself for the crimes committed. Only a short
while into his self flagellation, the decaying of his physical well being became apparent to any and all
onlookers, as the text states, he was often observed, on any slight alarm or other sudden accident, to
put his hand over his heart, with first a flush and then a paleness, indicative of pain, (Hawthorne 108).
This quotation exemplifies the obvious change in Dimmesdale s demeanor, while also creating a
connection between mind and body. With such a guilt fueling his need to gain redemption, he turned
to pain as a way to relieve the unshakeable ailment he invariably felt. However, this did not achieve
anything as his mental state further deteriorated and his physical conditions followed suit, to the point
that he was scarcely able to bear his own weight or

Racism in American History X
Racism in American History X Get the fuck out of my house! exclaims Derek as he pulls down his
wife beater to reveal a swastika tattoo, See this? That means not welcome. American History X,
directed by Tony Kaye, is a movie about the transformation of Derek Vinyard: a young neo Nazi
skinhead. Derek s father, Dennis Vinyard, was a middle class fireman who disagreed with many of the
ideological changes such as affirmative black action happening in America at the time. His father died
while trying to put out a fire in a minority community. Derek essentially put the blame on the
minorities for his father s death as he says in the news interview: Decent hard working Americans like

And Murray also adds that the statistic could also be due to a large amount of prejudice in the justice
system towards race. For instance Derek s black friend in jail was accused of assault and sentenced to
six years because he dropped a stolen TV on the policeman s foot. Derek oversimplifies the issue by
presenting two reasons and fails to acknowledge any of the underlying factors that may be in play to
produce the statistic.
Finally, near the end of the conversation Derek uses the red herring fallacy to further support his
radical view. If Rodney King had been driving along, hopped up on Chivas Regal and PCP and had
killed Danny, you d be singing a very different tune about the force of those cops. In order to prove his
point that King deserved the beating for what he had done, Derek presents the situation in a totally
different light. Derek immediately shifts the discussion to something emotional (the death of his
brother Danny) and the possibility of King hitting into someone during his high speed chase is totally
off topic because he didn t in fact hit anybody. In doing so he uses appeal to fear to commit the fallacy
of red herring.
Derek s blatant racism against the struggling black man is shown throughout this scene. Derek refers
to King as a monkey twice, which displays his obvious lack of respect towards other races. Derek s
strong racial prejudice is obvious towards the end when he

The Importance Of Technology In Modern Society
In our present world, we are faced with the double edged sword of having instantaneous access to all
information at our fingertips. However, it seems as though this easy access to information comes at the
cost of the morality of the community. This ethical degradation of modern society is permeated
through our overindulgence with technology, the manner in which we treat others, and mainstream
music.
A way in which the demoralization of society is shown through our overindulgence with technology.
Through the significant development of technology in this era, we have grown a high level of
dependence on our devices. This dependency on technology has greatly altered the way in which we
think and interact with one another. An example of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ultimately, the reliance on technology only leads to the detachment of people from those around them
leaving everyone in isolation.
Furthermore, the manner in which people are treated is a crucial sign of the immorality of our current
world. People have begun to lose respect for each other, especially over the Internet. This disregard for
others stems from the anonymity on the Internet which gives people the liberty to say whatever cruel
thing is on their mind because of their shield that is their computer screen. The ability to hide behind
one s keyboard is such a major contributor to cyberbullying as people don t get to physically see the
impacts of their words. If a person says awful things to a stranger on the Internet, they will likely
never meet the person to know how their comment made them feel. Through the rise of social media,
the current generation has lost the empathy that would make them wary of what they do or say to
avoid inflicting pain on others. A situation that can come out of this lack of concern for others is one
like Amanda Todd, a young girl who committed suicide as a result of the hurtful things said to her by
her peers over social media. Occurrences like these should serve as reminders to us all that despite the
conversation happening between screens, there is a person, a human, with value and worth behind that
screen reading your message.

Pros And Cons Of International Versus Capital Leasing In...
Throughout all industry, the topic of whether to buy or lease continues to be a relevant question with
proponents for both sides. There are all sorts of financing options in today s vast and technological
society, many of which I had never even heard of. When the topic of leasing was presented, I like so
many others, immediately thought of car leasing. Leasing takes many forms aside from the automobile
industry. Healthcare, like most all other business industries, is not exempt from deciding how, when
and what to lease. For this particular paper, we will look at the advantages and disadvantages of
operational versus capital leasing and how they relate to a healthcare organization. In order to gain a
full perspective on this issue, it is important to first define the concept of a lease. A lease is an
agreement conveying the right to use property, plant, and equipment (PP E) usually for a stated period
of time (Diffen, 2015). The two parties involved are the lessee (party paying for use of the asset) and
the lessor (party that owns the asset but is leasing to another). Leasing has become incredibly popular,

Darwin s Theory Of Evolution Of Species
In 1831, a newly graduated botanist named Charles Darwin was offered a position on a five year
voyage mapping the coasts of South America. Darwin eagerly accepted this offer, seeing it as an
opportunity to study specimens discovered on his journey. Upon returning to London, Darwin spent
the next ten years meticulously cataloging and researching his findings. It was these studies that gave
birth to a much deeper and more impactful discussion; the origins of species. Prior to Darwin s studies
the discussion of the origin of man was dominated by creationism, or the belief that we derive from
god, who created us all in his image. For the next thirty years, Darwin devoted himself to researching
the long standing question where did we come ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is more of an alternate perspective on the driving force behind biological evolution. Rather than
thinking that natural selection and random mutation lead evolution, theistic evolutionists hypothesize
that god only used evolution as a means to create man, a process often referred to as Guided Evolution
. Regardless of the interpretation, both forms assert that life stems from a common ancestor, created
by god and designed to be the beginning of the evolutionary process. A glaring objection to this idea is
that of the Book of Genesis, which displays the origin of man from a creationist point of view.
According to this piece of work, God created the physical world in entirety within six days, and finally
creating man from dust on the seventh day. Theistic evolutionists emphasize the metaphorical meaning
behind the Book of Genesis, while holding their position that the words should not be taken literally,
and the components of the story did not actually happen. There are several arguments that are made in
opposition to guided evolution, the most widely used objection is the Problem of Evil . The problem
of evil questions how one could reconcile the existence evil in the world with an omnibenevolent god.
In regards to guided evolution, if god really designed the entire process with an end goal of creating
man, why include so many wasteful and cruel components? If god was in fact all loving

The Mormon Service I Visited
The Mormon service I visited, had a few similarities but also a few distinct differences from the
Catholic service that I am used to. Before this particular Sunday, I had never attended a Mormon
service, nor had I spoken to anyone who believed in Mormonism or the Latter Day Saints. With that
being said, I was welcomed much more openly than I had originally thought. Before entering, I was
approached by two members of the church; two young women (sisters) between the ages of roughly
19 to 22. I arrived about an hour before service, that way I could ask a few people some questions, but
the two girls beat me to the punch. They initially asked me if I had visited before and I responded
saying that it was my first time, and I was attending as a student observer, with no intention of
converting, but would love to learn about the faith. They nodded and proceeded to explain to me the
reasons as to why they believed so strongly, and also a bit of background information on the faith. One
of the girls, explained to me that there has been a lot of skepticism about Mormonism due in part to
the fact that Joseph Smith Jr, was so young and how his explanation of Moroni (An angel no one had

The Election Of Presidential Election
As election season draws closer, we see the candidates debate more and more. These debates are a
huge part in the elections, but, there is another debate that has had the hot seat since the 2000 election
of Gore and Bush. In 2000, Democratic candidate Al Gore won the popular vote across the United
States, but, more controversy was created by the Republican candidate George W. Bush winning the
presidential election because he surpassed the 270 electoral votes needed to win. An outcry arose from
all across the country saying that the people s voices are not heard through the Electoral College and
that a true democratic country would allow for direct election of the President. So why did the
founding fathers not allow a direct election? And why hasn t the Electoral College been reformed yet
if it is so bad? The answers are simple. Our founding fathers didn t allow for a direct election because
they were afraid that the voters would be not well enough informed about the candidates, a reform to
the Electoral College would mean a new amendment to the constitution, and because in all actuality,
the Electoral College helps keep little states involved with the elections. With today s technology and
social media, the way candidates can reach voters far surpass that of how candidates had to reach
voters in the 19th century. So more voters should be better informed than that of voters in the 19th
century; right? Although this is a very true statement and that the information about

Intergenerational Cultural Dissonance
Everyone remembers fighting with their parents at some point in their life, whether as a young child
who wants a toy or as a teenager who isn t allowed to go out. It s normal to want to challenge
authority when growing up, because it helps young people to make their own decisions and become
individuals. Teenagers rely on few close friends and the last people expected to be confidants are their

This tension causes the individual to change their attitude to match their behavior or change the
behavior to match the attitude. Festinger believed when people act in a way which is contrary to the
beliefs that are held, they have a tendency to change their beliefs to match their actions. (Zajonc) After
further research outside of class time, I ve come to the conclusion that I ve been suffering from
intergenerational cultural dissonance or intergenerational cultural conflict. ICD (intergenerational
cultural dissonance) is, family conflict due to the cultural dissonance that emerges between
generations. Asian immigrant families try to retain their native cultural values and teach them to their
children all whilst their children start to learn the american culture. As asian american children
acculturate into american society at a faster rate as their parents, they (the children) become burdened
by taking the conflicting norms of their parents native culture. (Yang)
The United States is a melting pot for people of all cultures. According to the US Census, immigrants

Narrative Essay On D1 College
I wasn t born into a wealthy family where things were handed to me on a silver platter. I had to learn
at a young age that I was going to have to do a lot of things in life myself if I wanted to become
successful. I feel like after my mom passed away I lost track of that and started doing reckless things,
such as smoking marijuana, smoking cigars, and selling drugs. I even quit playing football because my
habits were interfering with my mind and I couldn t do anything. It also made it to where my family
was even beginning to turn their backs on me because I wouldn t listen to anything they were telling
me. It was basically sending me in a downwards spiral. Instead of making my life better I was hurting
myself and my family. My so called ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The General Behavior Model Is Developed By Ludwig Brenner...
GEBMO or the General Behavior Model was developed by Ludwig Brenner as a way to predict
hazards before they happened. Brenner devised a system of scenarios that could occur with multiple
factors for each element. The system is basically designed on a cause effect relationship. One thing
happens because of another which leads to a result (Haight, 2012). This model was used to develop an
emergency action plan for a small community surrounding a gas station.
The first step to any emergency action plan is to conduct a hazard assessment and the best way
conduct to do that is to conduct a walk through of the facility or area (Haight, 2012). In this scenario,
our facility is a service station with fuel holding tanks and convenience store items which is located in
close proximity to the center of town, a housing development, an elementary school, playground,
baseball field, and wooded area. The nature of the business makes it a hazard, the location of it makes
it a hazard to the community. Using the General Behavior Model, possible hazards and their reactions,
as well as ways to prevent them are discussed.
When working with fuels such as gasoline and diesel, physical hazards to humans are possible.
Gasoline is highly explosive and flammable, while diesel is flammable. The use of GEBMO is to
prevent or reduce the number of fires and explosions. GEBMO is broken down into seven steps. The
first step is to predict a stressing event such as a fire when a tanker is

Explain What The Word Taking Ownership Of Learning Means...
. Explain what the phrase taking ownership of your learning means to you.
My perspective about take ownership of your learning is, I think ownership here is a metaphor refers
to your responsibility towards your learning like if you own it. We all caring about our possessions,
for example; if I rented a car It s not my responsibility to find spare parts or to looking for a reputable
garage for service. But if I own the car, then no doubt, all maintains will be my responsibility. From
that point of view take ownership of your learning means, care about and be responsible for your

Defining Leadership And My Opinion
1. In defining leadership and in my opinion, I would have to say that it is a method that people use to
encourage others to achieve a common goal by always performing tasking the proper way. What I
mean by my definition is that every day one is placed in a position to alter from standard procedures.
Whether it be briefing the Command about something important or fixing a million dollar diesel
engine, there exists a time in many circumstances where slight deviation from procedures will make
the job easier. This is where leadership comes into play. A leader that has instilled a firm foundation of
ensuring those under them are aware of the implications of taking a shortcut and are properly taught

The OIC told me that he would have rather the unit fail the inspection than to see me allow someone
to take a short cut. This immediately taught me a valuable lesson to not ever take the easier route just
because it is easy. Meaning, had I took the extra few minutes to have my personnel properly stow the
equipment not only would the job been officially complete, but the lesson I would have taught the
junior personnel would have been more important than the score of the inspection.
3. The first area that I am going to work toward altering is under the Challenge the process practice. In
the area of Challenging people to try out new and innovative ways to do their work is an area that I
thought I was excelling in. As per the LPI report, that is not the case. I gave myself a higher score than
I actually received. Even the comments that were left stated that I needed to be a little more open
minded. In my job most tasking is driven by a procedure or there is a manual somewhere that will
drive one to a decision. This sometimes leads me in a direction to repair the problem at hand and
move on to the next problem. I often do this without asking for any insight from those working for me.
Effective immediately I am going to cease and desist this action. If time permits

Negative Effects Of Social Media Addiction
Health experts love to say that sitting is the new smoking. Given the number of diseases to which
sitting is linked, and the number of people it apparently kills every year, sitting is one of the worst
things we can do for health. But possibly as concerning is the thing that we often do while we re
sitting: Mindlessly scrolling through our social media feeds when we have a few spare minutes (or for
some, hours). And as we probably know intuitively, and as the research is confirming, it s not the best
habit when it comes to our collective psychology.
The American Academy of Pediatrics has warned about the potential for negative effects of social
media in young kids and teens, including cyber bullying and Facebook depression. But the same risks
may be true for adults, across generations. Here s a quick run down of the studies that have shown that
social media isn t very good for mental well being, and in some ways, it can be pretty
damaging.Experts have not been in total agreement on whether internet addiction is a real thing, let
alone social media addiction, but there s some good evidence that both may exist. A review study from
Nottingham Trent University looked back over earlier research on the psychological characteristics,
personality and social media use. The authors conclude that it may be plausible to speak specifically
of Facebook Addiction Disorder ...because addiction criteria, such as neglect of personal life, mental

The, Flowers, And Fruits
Each of the pieces in the De Young museum have their merits, but few can, although debatable,
compare in boldness and complex simplicity to Beth Lipman s Candlesticks, Books, Flowers, Fruits.
Finished in 2010 by the American born artist, Candlesticks, Books, Flowers, Fruits is a life sized
sculpture that, in a general way of putting it, touches upon various contemporary themes and ideas
regarding opulence, indulgence, and the taints associated with such undertakings, all of which may be
naturally derived from one s perspective based interpretation. This art piece comprises of an ovular
table with an overabundance of constituents resting upon it, these constituents consisting of a medley
of flowers, vases, glasses, fruits, bowls, plates, books, candlesticks among other things, all of which
are sculpted from glass, coloured of glossy pitch black. This work, being a sculpture, was
unexpectedly assorted into the museum s Still Life gallery, implying its classification as a Still Life
piece. That being said, in a room full of captivating paintings, there is no evading this piece when one
strolls in a clear testament to its disturbingly engrossing power. Indeed, there are other life sized
sculptures present, but none perforate through their surroundings as irreverently as Lipman s piece.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
Part of the torture is that the burden of guilt feels unending because you cannot undo the past
(Matsakis 119). In the book, Survivors Guilt by Aphrodite Matsakis, Ph. D, where Matsakis depicts
what and why living with PTSD is unbearable. Matsakis explains that guilt is the root of PTSD. There
is a never ending list of things to be guilty about after leaving a war, mainly; wishing you could get
the health back of the injured, get back the lives that were taken and closure with soldiers you thought
could have been saved. If the thoughts of these things could have closure and be let go, the survivor s
guilt would be surrendered. The quote, Guilt demands punishment (119), explains in such simple
terms of why the root of PTSD is guilt. If the guilt is released, then the negative thoughts, feelings of
hatred, anger and what ifs would all disappear. Addiction and abuse are two common disorders that
people often inherit while attempting to coupe with their PTSD. Alcoholism and drug abuse are
brought on by the tremendous amounts of stress and guilt felt when suffering from PTSD. The anxiety
and physiological arousal (adrenaline reactions) created by feelings of survivor guilt can play a major
role in the origin and perpetuation of any form of addiction (Matsakis 121). The high and numbness
that is associated with alcohol and drugs gives a short term relief from the guilt and pain felt from
PTSD. After the short term relief is worn off, the veterans suffering often feel

to get home delivery of some of their groceries and an area for recipes. There should be a calendar of
events for each store such as cooking classes, and charity and community events. There should be a
customer service area where email and comments go directly to store managers. There should be
contact info that includes store addresses, maps and hours as well as store, pharmacy, bakery and meat
counter phone numbers. There should also be a log in area for customers to log in to the site and
change their store loyalty card information, get loyalty card privacy information and subscribe or

Navigation
The new site should be as easy to navigate as the old site. The links should be very clear on what each

Human-Animal Interaction And Its Impact On Human And...
Human animal interaction (HAI) is a concept that has been around since the beginning; ever since
man knew what animals were. We have interacted in so many ways with animals ranging from
hunting as a resource to observing in the wild, and from holding in captivity as a means of labor to
domesticating for companionship. Throughout these centuries of interactions, it s become abundantly
clear as to what these encounters do for us as far as productivity/research/
entertainment/companionship, but it s never been completely clear as to what our presence and
encounters do to them more specifically, what does it do to them psychologically and behaviorally?
The word interaction is key, and it s important to note what an interaction means: both individuals
affect each other ... both human and animal are active and reactive during an interaction, independent
of who is the initiator (Eddie A.M. Bokkers, 31). So, what does this mean for animal development? An
animal s psychological development (just like humans) is most influenced at a very young age, but
behavioral development (though still very impressionable at a young age) can be influenced at
virtually any point in their life. This, in regards to the influence of human interaction, means that it
influences these two branches of development through positive and negative stimulants that allow a
psychological learning adaptation to take place, prompting a behavioral action. Animals, by nature, are
a curious sort. They enter each

Question1
The achievement motive emphasized the notion that links the personality traits and social background
check of a person with his or her level of need for achievement. David McClelland stressed that the
need for achievement is an apparent human motive that can be distinguished from other needs. He
believed that the achievement motivated people, do not turn down rewards but the rewards are not
important as the accomplishment itself (Bernstein, 2006).
Motivation is based on the individual s emotions and the achievement related goals. The achievement
motivation is aimed at attaining success and achieving all of our ambitions in life. As a result of this
the achievement goals can influence our natural behaviour (Rochester Institute, 2005).
Situational factors also affect achievement behaviour. The search for achievement is likely to increase
when the possibility of success and the incentive value of success are high (Rochester Institute, 2005).
This can be attributed to the following reasons:
a) As duties get easier, success becomes more fulfilling and as tasks get harder success becomes less
fulfilling.
b) Reasonably challenging tasks seem to offer the best overall worth in terms of maximizing the
person s sense of accomplishment.
c) People differing in their desires to avoid failure, emphasizes that emotion and motivation are
interweaved.

Violent Video Games Influence Violent Behavior in Children
Many people still do not believe that violent video games could influence violent behavior in children.
They think that video games are just for entertainment and nothing more than that. Even though there
are several cases where video games have been blamed or held responsible for violent actions, some
people fail to consider the fact that violent video games do influence violent actions.
One perfect example where violent video (Doom) was listed as one of the factors that influenced a
violent behavior can be seen in the Columbine Massacre , where two young high school students shot

I think in the act of playing violent video games, the actions that are executed by the character in the
game are decided by the player himself. Depending on how much time the player spend on the game
and how much urge the player develops to carry out extreme violence in the game, the player will
automatically begin to harbor aggressive thoughts. In this case, if a player had any sort of previous
knowledge playing violent video games, he/she will respond with a higher level of aggression
whenever he/she encounters confrontation.
When video games were introduced about 30 years ago, the characters in the games were all in black

today. As one writer puts it, the reality of virtual games is so improved that the characters are able to
perform real life reactions to an effect. For example, when a character is shot in the neck, he falls to
the ground face down clutching to his throat. Sometimes when the character is shot, a large spray of
blood covers the walls and the floor where the body of character lies. In other instances where
explosives are used, the character burst into small but recognizable body parts (Shin).

when we had to meet up in the computer room I just had to type up my essay and turn it in. The
challenging part of this essay would be understanding the prompt because I had no idea what a
Mission statement was and what I was supposed to do. For Essay 1 I was marked down for
redundancy, repetition, grammar and spelling and also clutter. What I can do to prevent the errors in
my next version would be to understand the prompt and directions more and have more ideas to write
about myself. In my revised Essay 1 version I did well on fixing my mistakes and not repeating the
same mistakes as last time by using the feedback that I received and changing or improving the
mistakes that I made in the past. I believe that I was marked down for the grammar, punctuation and
spelling errors, clutter and the conclusion which were the same issues that I was marked own with.
What I can do to ensure that the same issues won t be showing again would be to reread my revisions
and peer read my work so I can get the other mistakes that I might have created while revising or

I believe Sucker is a living, breathing person. In the story, Carson McCullers supplied hints that

about Sucker : there was a long cut on his cheek , he was always hanging around , and To me and my
kid sisters he was like our brother. These phrases are all ones you would use to describe a living,

The main idea of Sucker is, as Pete said, If a person admires you a lot you despise him and don t care
and it is the person who doesn t notice you that you are apt to admire. Pete could have only learned
this if he experienced such a situation that was out of his control. In other words, the people in this
situation with Pete (i.e. Sucker and Maybelle) could not have been imaginary because Pete would be
in control of the situation and, as many people with imaginary friends do, turn the situation into their
favor. The broken relationship between Pete and Sucker was definetly not in Pete s favor and neither
was Pete able to repair it. In addition, if Sucker was imaginary, McCullers would have included this
fact in the main idea of the story, which might then be, briefly : fantasizing about the impossibly
perfect relationship you want will make you lose the wonderful relationship you already have, but don
t realize you have. However, as a short story McCullers only had enough space in the story to
elaborate on the main idea Pete learned, which is quoted earlier in this paragraph. Thus, Sucker is
living. In conclusion, I believe Sucker to be a real, living and breathing person. McCullers only hinted
in the story that Sucker is real, not imaginary. Also, Pete described experiencing very intense sensory
related and emotional feelings regarding Sucker, which could only be possible if Sucker is real. Lastly,
the main idea of Carson McCullers short story supports Sucker as a living person, not an imaginary
being. Sucker is

One of the main points of this process is the marketing planning.

Add to that a high rate of unemployment causes a drop in effective demand for goods, that demand
requiring for the production of goods.
While these economic factors are largely outside the control of Tesco, they have an undeniable impact
on the company business performance and its marketing decisions.
Tesco operates in a global world and is now located in several countries, and this international
business is still growing, but it remains dependent on the UK market. This excessive concentration on
a single market exposes them to risks and would be negatively affected by any slowdown in the UK
food market (as the crisis of mad cow in the 1990s)
Finally, the economic crisis, which is still current, tends to reduce the purchasing power of consumers,
who are much more reluctant and afraid to spend more than they can.
New technologies have had a great impact. For instance, online shopping has become a major factor in
Tesco s recent success.
Technology is the basis for the development of many products in the Tesco range. These new
technologies have provided consumers than the company itself.
Consumer satisfaction is higher because services are more personalized and responsive to each and
shopping becomes more enjoyable and seems less arduous. To obtain customer satisfaction, Tesco has

Law As A Member Of Congress Essay
Law in the United States is created by starting as an idea from many places including a Member of
Congress, a Members constituents, as well as the President of the United States or a private group. A

immigrations and naturalization, claims against the U.S., or public issues to do with the public.

Digital Vs. Digital Projection
Recently in the world of cinema, there has been a great shift from the analogue format of film to
digital projection. There are many who suggest that one format might be better than the other. I was
working as a projection and sound technician for a major cinema exhibitor during this shift, so I have
some insight into the similarities and differences in the two technologies. Though I enjoy servicing
film projectors more than digital projectors and I have nostalgic feelings about analogue film in
general, it is clear that the digital projection platform is far more versatile and has more potential for
being improved even further in the future. Digital and film projection actually have a few things in
common. Firstly, the majority of both ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Modern digital projection technology only relatively recently surpassed 35mm film in terms of
subjective image quality perception. Whether or not digital image quality has surpassed 70mm film is
still debatable. on the other hand, with film projection, the image is physically developed on film and
there is no resolution, or you can say the resolution is infinite. It s like trying to describe a perfect
circle by describing it with squares or straight lines. So, the quality of film images depends on the
process used capture, develop, and duplicate the original image. An advantage of digital over film is
that the projected image will always be the same across all digital projection systems. Since every
digital projector is fed the exact same pixel data, the position and color of the pixels in relationship to
one another will be consistent. With film projection, the image is physically developed on film, so
there are greater variations in image and color from one print to the next. Typically, this difference is
negligible and not even noticeable, but there are differences. The way the projected image is produced
on each platform differs as well. Digital projection is essentially individual 1 s and 0 s, strung together
in binary code on a hard drive, that gets interpreted by a computer into pixel data which is sent to

political issue, it seemed as if the volunteers were waiting around the corner, parading and exclaiming
for free trade. When the British Government finally decided to conciliate Ireland in 1779, it was far
too late. The Volunteers were now moving for an even larger shift, they were out for change. The
Protestants of Ireland were fighting for Irish Parliament, which had many limitations on the powers of
the Irish parliament placed on by Poyning s Law and against the act of 1720 declaring that British
Parliament had the right to legislate for Ireland.

The Consequences Of Capital Punishment In Julius Ceaser
In his play, Julius Ceaser, Shakespear wrote, Cowards die many times before their deaths. The valiant
never taste of death but once. (2.2.34) Crimanals who kill or rape are the most cowardly of them all.
They deserve to suffer; they must face their cowardice actions with suffering. Capital Punishment or
the death penalty is the act of killing someone as punishment for a serious crime. There is not much
justice in the death penelty, no suffering is ever involved. Infact, death can even be considered an
honor. A person commiting a serious crime is always aware that they might be caught. They know that
the death penelty is a possibilty. Life in prison might even be worse. Death is bliss compared to being
caught. Many people commit mass murder and kill themselfs afterwards, all with the satisfaction of
inflicting pain on others because of their own suffering. After all, it would put them out of their misery
and give them peace. Where is the victims peace in capital punishment? Someone who has made
another suffer should suffer just as likely if not more, beyond an eye for an eye . Depending on
whether we seek vengence or we seek justice for those who have hurt us, there should be more
satisfaction; more justice in punishing those who commit these filthy acts.
Think of your worst fear, something that taunts you. Now, make it a reality and play it on a loop... Are
you mad?... Are you angry?... Are you... Dead? (Manson. Manson Trials)Is it the deep dark waters

hemingway Essay
Ernest Hemingway was an American writer. He was born in 1899 in Oak Park, Illinois. He committed
suicide in 1961 in Ketchum, Idaho (Burges 17). Even today Hemingway is one of the most recognized
authors in the world. Hemingway s experiences during World War I are directly shown in many of his
works. His general outlook on life is reflected in the adventures of his characters. It is clear that
Hemingway had a desire to be part of the war even though, due to bad vision he was unable to enlist
in the army and fight in the war. Instead he lied about his age and went to Italy to become an
ambulance driver. While in Italy he experienced many things that he would later go on to write about
in works such as A Farewell to Arms and For Whom the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While at post one night Hemingway was first wounded by an Austrian mortar shell, then the same
night he was further wounded by machine gun fire while he was carrying an Italian soldier to safety.
Though badly wounded his injuries were not fatal; all his injures where contained to his legs
(www.timelesshemingway.com). Hemingway spent five days in a field hospital before an excruciating
train trip to Milan. In Milan things took an upward turn when surgery was successful. Hemingway
was regarded as a hero and reported in newspapers and newsreels at home as the first American
wounded in Italy (TimelessHemingway 2). It is debatable whether this was true but no matter,
Hemingway was enjoying himself.
World War One was the setting of many of Hemingway s stories. He used his personal experiences as
their basis but enhanced them greatly. In 1929 Hemingway published A Farewell to Arms; the novel
that many critics consider to be the best ever written about World War One (Burgess 56). It is based on
Hemingway s personal experiences during the war. The main character, Lt. Frederic Henry, is
wounded, just as Hemingway was. He is hospitalized and falls in love with a nurse. Hemingway also
fell in love with his wartime nurse. But Hemingway took the characters further than his wartime
experience. He created action from later experiences. He was very good at putting things together. He
made up whatever he needed to suit his purposes (Hemingway 87). If the actual events worked, he

A Survey On Data Annotation For Web Databases
CTVS achieves higher precision than the present systems. Notwithstanding the way that DeLa and
ViNT perform well on data extraction, they disregard to cover the settled structure planning when in
doubt while CTVS has the limit cover the settled sorted out pages in web. Snake has extraordinary
execution comes to fruition anyway it doesn t handle non coterminous pages. Bincy S Kalloor, Shiji
C.G [8], proposed customized multi annotator approach in A Survey on Data Annotation for Web
Databases in September 2014. In this paper display a customized annotation approach, first alters the
data units on a result page into unmistakable social affairs, such that the data in the same get together
have the same which implies. By then for each social affair remark it from particular component and
total the assorted annotations to expect a last annotation mark. Priyanka C. Ghegade, Prof. Vinod
Wadane [17], describes personalized web search (PWS) is one of the active ongoing research field that
related to the retrieval of the relevant web page results based on the user interest and preferences.
ARUNPANDI.V, SUNDARAMOORHTY.S, VARADHARAJAN.E [18], proposed the personalization
involve in collecting the user interests implicitly or explicitly called as user profile. Collecting the user
interests in explicit manner is not so easy. Because the users are not interested to provide their interest
to the server. So we go for other methods to create user profile in implicit manner. Weifeng Su,

Research Employment Laws Is A Tough One
Picking out just one country to research employment laws was a tough one. I have been very fortunate
that during my childhood (I was a military brat, and lived everywhere) and even the last 16 years of
my adult life (from being in the military myself, and being married to a service member) I have been
to many countries around the world. I have enjoyed my time everywhere I have been, as I am one that
always makes the best of the new situation. I probably would be a great expatriate for a company,
since I am one that loves to indulge myself in the local culture and just learn as much as I can when I
am there. I decided on Germany, as that is one country I have spent the most time in, and one of my
best friends (that is born and raised there) is from there. I have always enjoyed the history and culture
of that country as well.
Hours Worked/Minimum Working Age When I lived in Germany I always thought it was frustrating
that everything was closed on Sundays; as Sundays are my days for grocery shopping, errands and
getting things ready for the following week. I had to learn to re do my routines to accommodate this;
but fortunately, being in Germany as military personnel, I was able to go on post (or base) to get
necessary shopping done as well since American posts/bases were run by American law. Germany has
a law in place that dictates the amount of hours per day/week/year that a person can work and this law
is the Working Time Act (WTA). According to Jung (2001), the

Perkins Janiterson Company Case Study Partners Company
I recommend to use Perkins Janitorial Service instead Conway Co. two janitors that is at the company.
One of the other reasons is when the company needs to find janitors we lose money of putting job
advertising on the internet and newspapers. The cost of putting a job advertisement on Snagajob.com
is about $89. Also, putting an advertisement in a newspaper, such as Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, is
about $12 per a column inch. So, if the company puts an advertisement in the Milwaukee Journal
Sentinel for a job offer and its four columns wide and ten columns long, then the price will be about
$480. The interview can be expensive too. If the company s hiring employee makes $18 an hour,
works 40 hours a week 52 weeks a year the employee makes

  • 2. Michael Jordan Obstacles Michael Jordan is known to many as the world s greatest basketball player, but most people don t realize how many obstacles he faced in order to succeed. He has missed over and over again in [his] life and that is why [he] succeeds. People trusted him over and over again and often times he failed. However, he didn t give up. Michael Jordan s continual trial and error connects to the poem, Mother to Son and the theme of never giving up no matter how hard the obstacles you face. Gender Bias For Dress Code Nineteen percent of the 7,800 students surveyed in middle and high schools across the country said they were prevented from wearing clothing deemed inappropriate based on their gender... CNN Student protests growing over gender equal dress codes I think that dress code at school is gender bias because it s female specific, your socioeconomic status will help determine if you get dress coded or not, boys don t usually get dress coded like girls do, and girls have a harder time dressing age appropriate. Females are often targeted for dress code because the dress code lists more restrictions and allocations for females instead of males. These debates are a huge part in the elections, but, there is another debate that has had the hot seat since the 2000 election of Gore and Bush. In 2000, Democratic candidate Al Gore won the popular vote across the United States, but, more controversy was created by the Republican candidate George W. Bush winning the presidential election because he surpassed the 270 electoral votes needed to win. An outcry arose from all across the country saying that the people s voices are not heard through the Electoral College and that a true democratic country would allow for direct election of the President. So why did the founding fathers not allow a direct election? And why hasn t the Electoral College been reformed yet if it is so bad? The answers are simple. Our founding fathers didn t allow for a direct election because they were afraid that the voters would be not well enough informed about the candidates, a reform to the Electoral College would mean a new amendment to the constitution, and because in all actuality, the Electoral College helps keep little states involved with the elections. With today s technology and social media, the way candidates can reach voters far surpass that of how candidates had to reach voters in the 19th century. • 24. The General Behavior Model Is Developed By Ludwig Brenner... GEBMO or the General Behavior Model was developed by Ludwig Brenner as a way to predict hazards before they happened. Brenner devised a system of scenarios that could occur with multiple factors for each element. The system is basically designed on a cause effect relationship. One thing happens because of another which leads to a result (Haight, 2012). This model was used to develop an emergency action plan for a small community surrounding a gas station. The first step to any emergency action plan is to conduct a hazard assessment and the best way conduct to do that is to conduct a walk through of the facility or area (Haight, 2012). In this scenario, our facility is a service station with fuel holding tanks and convenience store items which is located in close proximity to the center of town, a housing development, an elementary school, playground, baseball field, and wooded area. The nature of the business makes it a hazard, the location of it makes it a hazard to the community. Using the General Behavior Model, possible hazards and their reactions, as well as ways to prevent them are discussed. When working with fuels such as gasoline and diesel, physical hazards to humans are possible. Gasoline is highly explosive and flammable, while diesel is flammable. The use of GEBMO is to prevent or reduce the number of fires and explosions. GEBMO is broken down into seven steps. The first step is to predict a stressing event such as a fire when a tanker is ... In defining leadership and in my opinion, I would have to say that it is a method that people use to encourage others to achieve a common goal by always performing tasking the proper way. Whether it be briefing the Command about something important or fixing a million dollar diesel engine, there exists a time in many circumstances where slight deviation from procedures will make the job easier. Given the number of diseases to which sitting is linked, and the number of people it apparently kills every year, sitting is one of the worst things we can do for health. But possibly as concerning is the thing that we often do while we re sitting: Mindlessly scrolling through our social media feeds when we have a few spare minutes (or for some, hours). In the book, Survivors Guilt by Aphrodite Matsakis, Ph. D, where Matsakis depicts what and why living with PTSD is unbearable. Matsakis explains that guilt is the root of PTSD. There is a never ending list of things to be guilty about after leaving a war, mainly; wishing you could get the health back of the injured, get back the lives that were taken and closure with soldiers you thought could have been saved. If the thoughts of these things could have closure and be let go, the survivor s guilt would be surrendered. The quote, Guilt demands punishment (119), explains in such simple terms of why the root of PTSD is guilt. If the guilt is released, then the negative thoughts, feelings of hatred, anger and what ifs would all disappear. Addiction and abuse are two common disorders that people often inherit while attempting to coupe with their PTSD. Alcoholism and drug abuse are brought on by the tremendous amounts of stress and guilt felt when suffering from PTSD. The anxiety and physiological arousal (adrenaline reactions) created by feelings of survivor guilt can play a major role in the origin and perpetuation of any form of addiction (Matsakis 121). We have interacted in so many ways with animals ranging from hunting as a resource to observing in the wild, and from holding in captivity as a means of labor to domesticating for companionship. Throughout these centuries of interactions, it s become abundantly clear as to what these encounters do for us as far as productivity/research/ entertainment/companionship, but it s never been completely clear as to what our presence and encounters do to them more specifically, what does it do to them psychologically and behaviorally? The word interaction is key, and it s important to note what an interaction means: both individuals affect each other ... both human and animal are active and reactive during an interaction, independent of who is the initiator (Eddie A.M. Bokkers, 31). So, what does this mean for animal development? An animal s psychological development (just like humans) is most influenced at a very young age, but behavioral development (though still very impressionable at a young age) can be influenced at virtually any point in their life. This, in regards to the influence of human interaction, means that it influences these two branches of development through positive and negative stimulants that allow a psychological learning adaptation to take place, prompting a behavioral action. The search for achievement is likely to increase when the possibility of success and the incentive value of success are high (Rochester Institute, 2005). This can be attributed to the following reasons: a) As duties get easier, success becomes more fulfilling and as tasks get harder success becomes less fulfilling. b) Reasonably challenging tasks seem to offer the best overall worth in terms of maximizing the person s sense of accomplishment. c) People differing in their desires to avoid failure, emphasizes that emotion and motivation are interweaved. It s like trying to describe a perfect circle by describing it with squares or straight lines. So, the quality of film images depends on the process used capture, develop, and duplicate the original image. An advantage of digital over film is that the projected image will always be the same across all digital projection systems. Since every digital projector is fed the exact same pixel data, the position and color of the pixels in relationship to one another will be consistent. In 1929 Hemingway published A Farewell to Arms; the novel that many critics consider to be the best ever written about World War One (Burgess 56). It is based on Hemingway s personal experiences during the war. The main character, Lt. Frederic Henry, is wounded, just as Hemingway was. He is hospitalized and falls in love with a nurse. Hemingway also fell in love with his wartime nurse. But Hemingway took the characters further than his wartime experience. He created action from later experiences. He was very good at putting things together. He made up whatever he needed to suit his purposes (Hemingway 87). If the actual events worked, he stuck ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Germany has a law in place that dictates the amount of hours per day/week/year that a person can work and this law is the Working Time Act (WTA). According to Jung (2001), the ... The cost of putting a job advertisement on Snagajob.com is about $89. Also, putting an advertisement in a newspaper, such as Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, is about $12 per a column inch. So, if the company puts an advertisement in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel for a job offer and its four columns wide and ten columns long, then the price will be about $480. The interview can be expensive too. If the company s hiring employee makes $18 an hour, works 40 hours a week 52 weeks a year the employee makes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
