Record of River Discharge ( the level of water flowing
down the river channel) over a period of time, they show
how rivers responds to a rainstorm.
• River Discharge:
The level of water flowing down a river is
calculated as:
River discharge = cross sectional area x rivers mean
velocity
(at a particular point in its course)
• Types of Hydrograph:
•Storm hydrographs
•Flood hydrographs
•Annual hydrographs
•Direct Runoff Hydrograph
•Strom Hydrograph:
Show the change in discharge caused by period
of rainfall.
Why
