Consumer Driven Eugenics Research Paper
Introduction
Eugenics is the belief and practice of improving the human population. Its ugly reputation is known
throughout history as the practice that removes a human s right to make any choices over their own
bodies. Though it is an ancient practice, the idea was popularised by misinterpretations of The Origin
of Species by Charles Darwin. The idea of the sanctity of life was removed and Judeo Christian
morality was replaced with human morality. Society became aware of the struggle for existence and
started to class people into categories of fit or unfit. Many lost the right to choose to have offspring.
Hitler was influenced greatly by the early eugenics movement, sterilising thousands and killing
millions, in the name of human improvement. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We can choose whether our children have disabilities; whether our children have our predetermined
features like how tall or how smart they are. Will these choices inhibit conditions for choice in the
future? Is consumer driven eugenics any better than the previous state mandated eugenics or is it just
as deadly? Designer babies and screening for disabilities have caused our social norms to shift as the
idea that some people were born to be a burden on the rest (American eugenics display, mid 1920 s)
grows, and parents will feel increasingly obligated to enhance their children above the normal species
functioning. Do we want to create a never ending genetic competition, forcing parents to abort
disabled babies and create genetically advanced children, which only the rich can afford to have; thus
creating a new socio economic divide built on genetics? Only the rich have the resources to make their
children the best genetically adapted to the environment, but will human improvement stop at biology,
or will it move us into an area of new cyborg super

Reality Tv Negative
Do you think that reality T.V. affects our kids? Many kids watch reality T.V. and they have not had a
positive outcome. Once kids get into a situation they tend to react like how they think their favorite
star would. Reality T.V. is not good for kids because it encourages bad behavior, lowers kids self
esteem, and makes kids have a lack of focus.
First once kids watch reality T.V. lowers many kids self esteem. Lots of these reality T.V. shows give
the impression that their value is based on their appearance. Which to me it is not and it should not be
to anyone. People should judge each other on you are as a person, not on how you look. For example
shows like America s Next, Top Model compete to see who is the prettiest one or best fit for a model,
to get 100,000 and a big modeling contract. It would feel horrible to get told that you were not pretty
enough or not thin enough that is what leads to people having eating them because own skin. addition,

Once teens watch reality T.V. shows they tend to care less about their school work. This can bad
because it can take a big toll on their grades. In the show Married to Medicine staring female
physicians that many focus on conflicts. Not on their very successful medical jobs. These woman have
worked very hard to get their jobs but instead of focusing on that they focus more on conflicts. Lots of
teens have shown materialism. Which is bad because they think that having more name brand things is
better than their family.
It is obvious that reality T.V. does not have many great effects because it , encourages bad behavior,
makes kids have a lack of focus, and lowers their self esteem. For all of these reasons reality T.V.
affects kids in a negative way. There are many positive shows out there like educational shows,
historical shows, and even scientific shows. But reality T.V. is not one of

Essay On Child Protective Services
Child Protective Services Are Not Doing All They Can For Kids
Child protection gets involved for many reasons such as: your children not going to school, somebody
calling them on you, or if you re going through some personal issues. A child in need is usually a child
that s left alone, has been abused or sees abused between parents.
Child protective services is a report of child abuse or child neglect. The responsibility of the
government or a private institution (Petr 1). In 2013 there were 3.2 million kids in the child protective
services. Here we are in 2016 and the number had risen ( Friedersdorf 1).Child protective services are
meant to access and provide services to children and families in an effort to protect children. They
provide numerous amount of treatment services The kids were either abused, neglected, or exploited
(Depanfilis 1). Child protective services only gets involved if they hear about you mistreating your
kids or if you are going through some personal issues such as living environment or money issues.

rules and regulations. They take your kid because of what they hear. It varies either way it depends on
the caseworker or the case. Some are more concerned for kids who aren t being abused instead of the
kids who are. They are focused on the littlest situation of the big . They do a little investigating and
that s that. They need better environments for the kids. Bad things happen in there and it s nothing the
kids can help because they re trapped until adulthood. They miss their parents and the parents miss

Similarities Between Mesopotamia And Harapppa
The Ancient Complex Societies of Egypt, Mesopotamia, and Harappa The ancient complex societies
of Egypt, Mesopotamia, and Harappa all had many different languages, religions, government,
Locations, and architecture. When looking at these societies one may say that there was no sort of
correlation between them but when you dig into the heart of these complex places you notice how
close they all are. We see that their government and cities were built the same also many of their
languages and writings have some sort of resemblance. Many of the ideas that each society believed
and performed had at least one similar quality whether it be a similar dialect or even government.
There is one thing that cannot be denied even though these societies were nowhere close to each other,
there are major aspects that prove they are alike. In all the societies mentioned a major part is religion,
all societies had a religion in addition all were polytheistic, meaning that they worshiped more than
one God or goddess. The differences between them were that they had different names and meanings
for each symbol. Egypt and Mesopotamian societies tented to have a stronger tie to religion than
Harappa. The evidence for this comes when looking at the structures built in their cities. In the outline
of the Egyptian and Mesopotamian societies showed large religious temples, while in Harappa there
weren t any big temples but what looks like to be a major bath system which could have possibly been

Alice Monroe Boys And Girls
How would you react when someone forces expectations on to you that you disagree with? Would you
try to reason with them, or just give in and act the way they expect of you? In the short story Boys and
Girls by Alice Monroe has a girl go through and answer that question in her story. At first disagreeing,
after being pressures by the people in her family she gives in to the ideas that others had set on her.
The life of the narrator conveys the idea that an individual may have to conform to the rolls society
sets on them.
At first, the narrator disagrees with how her family expects her to be. Specifically, her mother
expectations, as she is the most direct stating I just get my back turned and she runs off. It s not like I
had a girl in the family at all. The narrator instead of working with her mother inside their house

gate out of the field into the town, but she doesn t. As she reaches it, she opens up the gate as wide as
she can and can t tell her self why. Monroe is using this moment to symbolize her tipping point, where
she stops rebelling and give ins. When she opens the gate it symbolizes her will to ignore the pressure
being set on her leaving. At night what was her favorite time of the day changes. When she tells her
self stories at they start the same, but end up focusing on how long her hair was, or what kind of dress
she had. They no longer have the same excitement they once had. As the story ends they find out that
she was the one that let flora out. The narrator remarks her change in view when they call her just a

How Did The British Government To Respond To The...
The American Revolution was preceded in part by a series of British Parliament laws that regulated
trade and taxes. Rumors from England that more taxes might follow encouraged some colonists to
begin thinking about whether they really consented to taxes passed by a Parliament to which they
elected no representatives. (1) This particular legislation of taxation caused tensions between colonists
and local imperial officials, who readdressed the colonists concerns that the British Parliament would
not address American complaints concerning the new laws. The unwillingness to respond to American
demands for change by the British opened the doors to colonial argument that they were part of a
corrupt and tyrannical empire in which their traditional liberties were at stake! This position
eventually served as the foundation for the Declaration of Independence. As the British government
emerged from the Seven Years War in 1763, they were troubled with outstanding debts. This led
British Prime Minister George Grenville to reduce the tax collected on items such as sugar and
molasses as they were imported into Great Britain, but also to enforce the law more strictly. Since
enforcement of these taxes had previously been lenient, this increased revenue for the British
Government in the the long term, and served to increase the taxes paid by the colonists. New York and
Massachusetts colonial governments issued formal letters of protest to Parliament. (2) Add to this the

The Importance Of Eye Contact In Social Settings
locking eyes with the person asking the questions. Navarro (2009) points out that there is no research
to prove this myth and that it is more likely anxiety or nervousness that prevents the person from
looking directly at the person asking the question. Navarro (2009) also points out many other
subtleties that go with eye movements such as rapid or slow blinking and what they mean.
Eye Contact in Social Settings
In his article about eye contact studies, also known as Oculesics, Anderson (2015) states that studies
conducted over many years by different researchers have come to a consensus about how eye contact
is perceived. Looking someone directly in the eye especially when you or they are talking is
considered polite because it shows attention is being given even if that isn t the case inside the person
s head. Sometimes eye contact can also be misleading. The example given in the popular press
proposal about the neighbor asking your help to move and you don t want to but yet say yes, it is an
example of misleading. A common myth however is that because a person isn t directly looking at a
person when they are talking, you are being rude and not listening. However there is no research that
can validate this myth. There are many people who actually listen better when they are tinkering with
an object and even looking away. The other social aspect, especially in Asian cultures, is considered to
be rude by showing little to no eye contact, especially during a handshake.

The Pros And Cons Of Year-Round Schooling
They do not view YRE as a calendar configuration for space, achievement, or enrichment, but rather
as a part of the transformation toward a philosophy of long continuous learning. (Guthrie). One of the
main purposes of Year Round Schooling is to lower the break time between school sessions. This
causes children to have a better chance of retaining the knowledge that they learned from the previous
year (Wyoming Tribune Eagle). Year round schools consist of the same amount of school days, 180
days, the difference is that it is spread out over 12 months instead of the original 10. When
the original school schedule was made, it was made for families who farmed in the summer. Modern

Since this is a controversial school schedule due to the shorter summer break, each school system
should have a string of schools (elementary, middle, and high school) try the schedule out for five
years and track the improvement throughout the years. Teachers no longer feel as if they are on the
edge of a breakdown because of the new system. Since the teachers and students are in school for nine
weeks have a week of break, they can know look forward to up to two or three weeks of break. With
the cut down on the summer break to add to the other breaks throughout the year, students have a
better chance of retaining knowledge. It would be beneficial for schools to switch to the year round
school schedule because the teachers are happier and not on the verge of a breakdown, the breaks are
longer, and the students retain the knowledge from the previous

Speech On Flyboarding
At first I thought it was the abundant utilization of alcohol and daylight. There we were, one hot
evening the previous summer, on a vessel amidst Lake Mead, watching somebody suspend over the
water on a board fastened to a Jet Ski, two considerable surges of water impacting from underneath
the rider s feet. Iron Man? No, simply some fella attempting to keep his parity. This provoked heaps of
whoas, picture taking and Instagram posting, and gathering Googling to take in more about the
marvelousness we were seeing.
Flyboarding is only one of a modest bunch of hydroflight items that are the most current fury in water

Solid waste like bags, foam, and other items dumped into the oceans from land or by ships at sea are
frequently consumed, with often fatal effects, by marine mammals, fish, and birds that mistake it for
food.
Ocean currents corral trillions of decomposing plastic items and other trash into gigantic, swirling
garbage patches (Pacific Trash Vortex)
Fish and birds could be harmed from accidentally eating the plastic particles, or absorbing substances
that leach out into the water. The main problem is the accessibility to freshwater organisms that can be
easily confused as natural food.
IV Pollution Facts:
The average American will throw away approximately 185 pounds of plastic per year.
8% of the world s oil is used for plastic production.
Plastic in the ocean breaks down into such small segments that pieces of plastic from a one liter bottle
could end up on every mile of beach throughout the world.
Approximately 380 billion plastic bags are used in the United States every year. That s more than
1,200 bags per US resident, per year.
80% of pollution to the marine environment comes from the land.
Estimated in 2006 that every square mile of ocean contains 46,000 pieces of floating plastic.
Estimated that over 70,000 chemicals are used in industrial compounds, pesticides, pharmaceuticals,
food additives, and other purposes. That total

Self Denial And Self-Denialing In Miss Brill By Katherine...
There are millions of people who live in self denial and self rejection. When one thinks of self denial,
most people picture a young person trying to find his or her way through society without being
ridiculed, but what does it mean when self denial lingers into adulthood? In her acclaimed short story,
Miss Brill author Katherine Mansfield does not detail her story in a descriptive, elaborate style, yet the
reader can infer that the protagonist, Miss Brill, is a woman who is self conscious and yearns to be
important to the point she denies her pain and sorrow.
Miss Brill desires to be normal since in the literary article Reductive Imagery in Miss Brill she is
depicted as an a foreigner (in xenophobic France) without friends or relatives (Mandel 474) Anyone in
that situation would try his or her best to fit in and not be mocked. The fur and pieces of clothing in
the story are a symbol of her hidden self denial and low confidence. Miss Brill goes out to present the
clothes so the public would take notice, but the public did not. People who wear nice clothing want
others to notice, and when people notice the nice clothing, a person s confidence is elevated. Mrs. Brill
is hurt that no one takes the time out to compliment or notice her. She yearns to be important to the
public and be a person of significance. Yet, notice how Miss Brill is so detached from the society she
is living in. She is more immersed in living through society instead of living her life and it produces

Civil Disobedience Negative
Civil disobedience is as American as McDonald s or apple pie. It wasn t that long ago when America
was the only place that a person could peacefully protest the government or its rules without having
any fears of being punished. But at what point does peacefully protesting become both civil
disobedience and a harmful act to society? Civil disobedience negatively impacts society because it
not only breaks laws, but it can also be used as an excuse for violence. Abraham Lincoln once said,
Let every man remember that to violate the law is to trample on the blood of his father, and to tear the
charter of his own and his children s liberty, (President Abraham Lincoln). When a person breaks the
law, no matter how insignificant it may be, he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Looking closer at the time period and situation of the civil rights movement reveals that civil
disobedience is in fact negative to present day society. The Civil Rights Movements used a
combination of peaceful protests and civil disobedience to attain their goals. There are two reasons
why civil disobedience worked back then: There was no social media and the protesters knew that
they could die even if they protested peacefully. 42 people were killed because of their involvement in
the Civil Rights Movement from 1955 1968. (Southern Poverty Law Center) Nowadays, a protester
knows he or she will not be murdered a few days after the protest because he or she participated in it.
This lack of fear empowers protesters to push further their level of civil disobedience to the point
where it s an unnecessary and violent act that hurts society. Another major difference between then
and now is the use of social media. Before the advent of social media, on any given day an individual
might have had the opportunity to share his or her feelings about an unfolding political event with, at
most, 10 or 15 people. Now with a few strokes of the keyboard or swipes of a mobile phone, people
can make their thoughts known instantly to hundreds or thousands of others. Moreover, the fact that
these thoughts are spread through social networks that individuals have

Starbucks And Its Impact On The United States Essay
Every day, we go to work planning to do two things: offer awesome espresso with our companions
and improve the world a bit. It was genuine when the primary Starbucks opened in 1971, and it s
pretty much as genuine today. In those days, the organization was a solitary store in Seattle s Pike
Place Market. From only a slender customer facing facade, Starbucks offered a portion of the world s
finest new broiled entire bean espressos. The name, roused by Moby Dick, evoked the sentiment of
the high oceans and the nautical custom of the early espresso dealers. In 1981, Howard Schultz
(Starbucks executive and CEO) had at first walked around a Starbucks store and he was drawn into
Starbucks and joined a year later ( Company Information , 2016).
Starbucks has around 182,000 workers and over 22,519 organization worked and authorized stores in
70 nations. Their item blend incorporates cooked and carefully assembled superb/premium estimated
espressos, an assortment of crisp nourishment things and different drinks. They additionally offer an
assortment of espresso and tea items and permit their trademarks, for example, authorized stores, basic
need and national foodservice accounts. Starbucks likewise showcases its items blend with other

Coffee, Starbucks VIA, Starbucks Refreshers and Verismo ( Company Information , 2016).

Animal Testing is Unnecessary and Cruel Essay example
Carrots the rabbit has been under experimentations for almost all of his life. He has to suffer so
someone can wash his or her hair. The makers of Dove shampoo are probably going to shove shampoo
down his throat his reaction to it. Even if the rabbit lives through the experiment, there still going to
kill him to see what happened to his organs. If this were a human being experimented on, people
would be mesmerized. Scientist are debating whether shoving shampoo down a rabbits throat is
effective. Testing on animals is a highly disagreeable process that should not be allowed.
An animal is a living thing and so is a human. They eat, sleep, and live their life. Animals have rights.
Why is it allowed that animals have to suffer so a human ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another point why animal testing is wrong is because of the brutal things that happen to the animals.
For example, the Draize Test is used on white albino rabbits. They use white albino rabbits because of
their sensitive eyes. In this process scientist, rub shampoo, soap, toothpaste or lawn products into their
beautiful red eyes. Then they record the damage, they have observed. The test lasts up to 18 days, with
the poor animals eyelids held open with a clip. Many of the rabbits end up with broken necks trying to
escape from terrifying pain. First, it is unreasonable to keep the product in their eye that long. Not
even a child would keep a product in their eye that long. The whole experiment was unnecessary to
do. The eye tissue of a rabbit is very different from a human eye tissue. The pain they go through had
no benefits.
A final reason why animal testing is pointless is that there is no law saying that it is necessary to test
any product on animals. Why make an animal suffer when there is no need? There are alternatives for
animal testing that would have better results for humans, and it would not be involved in any animal
unkindness. Why do companies not realize that they do not have to experiment on innocent animals?
No animal should have to suffer for an unreasonable cause. Carrots the rabbit live today if it was not
for the companies that still believe that it is okay to test animals with products. If there were
alternatives to animal testing, why would it

What Are The Five Major Inventions Of The Industrial...
Five greatest inventions of the industrial revolution
The Industrial Revolution was a time period that brought many great things to this world. The five
greatest are the first long lasting light bulb, the first internal combustion engine. The telephone, the
transatlantic cable. And of course the first airplane. That doesn t even scratch the surface of the time
period.
To start the first long lasting incandescent light bulb. In 1878 Thomas Edison first started to develop
the first long lasting incandescent light bulb. He was granted the patent for it in 1879. In 1880 he had
successfully completed the first long lasting incandescent light bulb. ...Edison and his team discovered
that a carbonized bamboo filament could last over 1200 hours. (bulbs.com) Edison and his team had
successfully completed the first long lasting incandescent light bulb. This invention was so important
because it paved way for most of the light sources we use today. The bulb works by running and

The Transatlantic Cable was a telegraph cable laid under the Atlantic Ocean. Though there were many
attempts to create the cable it was officially laid in 1866. Learning from the 1865 expedition, changes
were made in the cable design, to the cable paying out machine and to the Great Eastern itself.
(atlantic cable.com) This quote explains the fact that the cable was attempted and failed just barely a
year before the first successful attempt was made. The cable was an innovating invention because it
was the first way for instant communication from the united states to europe. The cable made it easy
for the united states to speak to european countries without having to send letter by ship. Cyrus field

Essay On Community Based Wellness Program
Procedure The proposal for this study was approved by the Institutional Review Board at the
University of Mary. The community based wellness program was designed by the researchers based
on current literature on the effectiveness of such programs with the PD population. Participants for
this study were recruited from a Parkinson s disease support group in the Upper Midwest. Purposive
and convenience sampling was utilized, which involves selecting individuals who have a diagnosis of
PD living in the community and who are willing to volunteer. Participants all signed informed consent

Patrick Lencioni s Three Signs Of A Miserable Job
THREE SIGNS OF A MISERABLE JOB DISCUSSION QUESTIONS 1. Is a miserable job different
than a bad job? If so, in what ways? A miserable job is not the same as a bad job. According to Patrick
Lencioni, what is considered a bad job varies from person to person. Lencioni states, Some people
consider a job bad because it is physically demanding or exhausting, involving long hours in the hot
sun. Others see it as one that doesn t pay well. Still others call a job bad because it requires a long
commute or a great deal of time sitting behind a desk. It really depends on who you are and what you
value and enjoy. A miserable job differs from a bad job because instead of disliking parts of your job
you job is physically and emotionally draining you. Lencioni states that, [A miserable job is] the one
you dread going to and can t wait to leave. It s the one that saps your energy even when you re not

Gilgamesh, The Epic Of Gilgamesh
In The Epic of Gilgamesh, Gilgamesh has to go through a series of hardship to obtain immortality.
Gilgamesh s determination to find immortality is impacted by the death of his best companion,
Enkidu. At the end of Gilgamesh s quest, he learns the destined fate of mortals (which is...?).
Gilgamesh s character development is shown throughout the story; he changes from an invincible,
fearless king to a king who has accept his mortality and sees his own limitations. Although the quest
of Gilgamesh seems to focus on gaining immortality, it works as a bridge to help Gilgamesh accept his
mortality and to understand that immortality is not achieved by the length of life, but by the stories
that s pass on. In the beginning (beginning of what? the epic? the quest?), Gilgamesh seeks
immortality because he wants to live forever. After Gilgamesh witnesses the death of Enkidu,
Gilgamesh becomes afraid of death himself. many direct parallels are shown throughout the story to
justify the reasoning behind Gilgamesh s fear of death. Enkidu often acts as an equal companion of
Gilgamesh; Gilgamesh is born with a mixture of human and divine, while Enkidu is a mixture of
human and wild beast. Although there is a difference in their status, their ability and strength are still
the same. Gilgamesh is perfect in strength (Tablet I, Line 36) and Enkidu is the mightiest in the land
(I,117). When Gilgamesh sees someone, who has been through every hardship with him and is equal
in strength, grasp

Medicine River Essay
Medicine River
I enjoyed the book Medicine River, by Thomas King as well as the movie, which was based on the
book. Although there were profound differences between the two, they were both pleasantly
constructed. Having been instructed to read the book first, I was able to experience the full effect of
the story and the message that the author intended for his readers. Although the book and the movie
clearly relayed the same story, I would ve better enjoyed the movie if it had included more incidents
from the book, such as the visit from Harlen Bigbear s estranged brother, and the bridge jump . I also
wish the producer would have incorporated the many flashbacks that the main protagonist, Will, had
from his youth. For example, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Will, the protagonist, was very likable as well. However, his character only evolved for me as a result
of Harlen s unconditional and relentless friendship with him. In short, Will s character would ve
lacked without the likeness of a Harlen Bigbear. The character naming was also very ingenious. The
Oldpersons, Prettywomans, baby South Wing, and others were interesting and clever last names that
made the notion of identifying with the characters even more interesting and the reading, fun.
The movie was surprisingly good, as it was well scripted and directed. I particularly enjoyed the
scenery as well as the choice of actors. The beginning of the movie was drastically different from that
in the book with Will being cast as a war captive in another country. Also different in the movie is the
fact that in the beginning scenes Will finds out that his mother passed, and doesn t make it to Medicine
River in time for her funeral. With all of the alterations that were made in the script, I found it an
interesting and nice addition when Harlen persuaded Will to hire ex convict Clyde Whiteman as an
assistant in his photography studio. The only change which I was not particularly fond of was the
addition of Will s boss Ellen. Particularly, her persistence to continue in their affair, despite Will s
disinterest. Overall, I really enjoyed the movie. However, I was thrown off guard by the order in

1.8 Supply Chain Drivers in Agribusiness
In this chapter, we have so far discussed the role of supply chain drivers namely facilities, inventory,
and transportation, sourcing and information technology impacting the performance of inputs industry.
1 Facility
Facility management for the agricultural inputs sector is an important aspect of supply chain drivers.
When one looks at any facility, its various forms need to be analyzed. One aspect is with respect to
manufacturing, process, and resource endowment, and the other is about creating storage spaces such
as warehouses and regional distribution centers, especially with respect to input management.

Kharif season is after first rains of south west monsoon in India, which is in June July and harvest
happens in September and October. Rabi season starts after the kharif season and more popularly
termed winter crop with plantation in November and harvest in February/March. Cultivation is
triggered by the onset of the monsoon. Inputs such as seeds and capital equipment and preparatory
farm equipment would be required at the initiation of crop farming. As the crop firms up, farmers
would need fertilizers, crop nutrients, and pesticides. Later, farmers would need farmer extension
support services, harvesting support, and support in reaching the markets. All these activities require
an effective inventory management policy across the supply chain.
The players deploy inventory concepts such as cycle inventory, safety inventory, seasonal inventory,
and pipeline inventory. Inventory could be in the form of raw material, work in progress, or finished
goods.
Cycle inventory is the average inventory that builds up within the supply chain, because a supply
chain stage either produces or purchases in lots that are larger in volume than the demands of
customers. Raw materials, components, and parts are required for production. The cycle plays a
crucial role in keeping the production process continuous. Raw materials and work in progress
inventories are a major part of the production related inventory. This works even in the agribusiness
input sector. Fertilizers typically work

Endless Love Is A Romance Directed By Shana Feste
The film Endless Love is a romance directed by Shana Feste in 2014 about 17 year old Jade
Butterfield (Gabriella Wilde) who meets and falls in love with a fellow high school student, David

spent all her time with her parents and other brother, Keith Butterfield (Rhys Wakefield). Considering
Jade s dad, Hugh Butterfield (Bruce Greenwood), doesn t like the young lady she becomes while
dating David, there are some troubles along the way. Hugh and his wife s, Anne Butterfield (Joely

Despite leaving in a few familiar moments (there is still a love scene with a fireplace). Alex Pettyfer
and Jaime King lookalike Gabriella and Wilde play the main teen lovebirds, who, unlike the original
lovebirds, fall in love AFTER they graduate high school. And instead of David comes from an affluent
family and Jade is the product of a bohemian household, this has Jade as the introverted daughter of
rich parents while David is the son of a single, grease monkey dad.
Safe and predictable, there is nothing remotely surprising (and, therefore, interesting) about this
rudimentary remake. The movie is so simple and sappy in its plotting that it seems more suited for the
Hallmark Channel than the big screen. It also doesn t take much to see that it s sampling more of the
work of Nicholas Sparks than Spencer s book. Since there isn t a movie adaptation of a Sparks novel
coming out this February, as it seems to be the case every year, this movie jumps on this opportunity
and envisions how Sparks would ve handled Love if he wrote it.
To watch and enjoy Endless Love one must overcome the sappy love story of pretty teens with clear
heads and endless romantic thoughts and feelings. Everyone else will be rolling their eyes at the
predictability of every bogus twist. Endless Love might as well be one long montage of longing gazes,
tender kisses, and lovers splashing in water falling in love. We never get a sense of why the two are
drawn to each other. They rarely

Northern Colonies Differences
While America was only in its early steps, a fresh and new nation, a rift soon began to form,
threatening to tear apart the continent before it had hardly begun. As cultures began to form in the
South and Northern colonies, so did mistrust and tensions between them. Differences in Urban and
Rural environments, focuses in different areas of expansion, and finally the issue of diversity in both
regions. While these differences pushed the colonies farther and farther away, there were similarities
between them, keeping the nation together for as long as it could.
The economy of the South was based almost solely on plantations and manual labor. While slavery
grew in the South, as well as farming, other parts of the economy shrunk. A lack ... Show more content

The principles in the early South almost never changed until the Civil war, and ideals from the
creation of colonies became law, never to be changed. In this way, the South walled itself from those
who tried to settle there only to find themselves turned away from society and shunned. Such people
would be mixed children, those who were not Christian, and Africans. Tolerance found in the north
soon dwindled moving down to the south, a devoutly Christian region until around the mid 1700 s.
Lack of communication and commerce with other nations as previously mentioned left the south at a
weak point, finding themselves turning others away, while being alone in themselves. A key reason for
the intense sense of culture in the modern South is this isolation found early in the history of these
colonies, where a sense of pride for these Southern values becomes all encompassing. A bold
similarity between the two regions stands out, a core set of values, whether for the North and South.
The Northern colonies had a focus on the sciences, and advancement of civilization, while the South
wanted nothing more than to live on their precious land, and focus on the plantation life they had
come to develop, not eager to branch out into any other

  • 2. Consumer Driven Eugenics Research Paper Introduction Eugenics is the belief and practice of improving the human population. Its ugly reputation is known throughout history as the practice that removes a human s right to make any choices over their own bodies. Though it is an ancient practice, the idea was popularised by misinterpretations of The Origin of Species by Charles Darwin. The idea of the sanctity of life was removed and Judeo Christian morality was replaced with human morality. Society became aware of the struggle for existence and started to class people into categories of fit or unfit. Many lost the right to choose to have offspring. Hitler was influenced greatly by the early eugenics movement, sterilising thousands and killing millions, in the name of human improvement. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We can choose whether our children have disabilities; whether our children have our predetermined features like how tall or how smart they are. Will these choices inhibit conditions for choice in the future? Is consumer driven eugenics any better than the previous state mandated eugenics or is it just as deadly? Designer babies and screening for disabilities have caused our social norms to shift as the idea that some people were born to be a burden on the rest (American eugenics display, mid 1920 s) grows, and parents will feel increasingly obligated to enhance their children above the normal species functioning. Do we want to create a never ending genetic competition, forcing parents to abort disabled babies and create genetically advanced children, which only the rich can afford to have; thus creating a new socio economic divide built on genetics? Only the rich have the resources to make their children the best genetically adapted to the environment, but will human improvement stop at biology, or will it move us into an area of new cyborg super ... Once kids get into a situation they tend to react like how they think their favorite star would. Reality T.V. is not good for kids because it encourages bad behavior, lowers kids self esteem, and makes kids have a lack of focus. First once kids watch reality T.V. lowers many kids self esteem. Lots of these reality T.V. shows give the impression that their value is based on their appearance. Which to me it is not and it should not be to anyone. People should judge each other on you are as a person, not on how you look. For example shows like America s Next, Top Model compete to see who is the prettiest one or best fit for a model, to get 100,000 and a big modeling contract. It would feel horrible to get told that you were not pretty enough or not thin enough that is what leads to people having eating them because own skin. addition, to that Keeping Up WIth The Kardashians is one of the many shows that ... These woman have worked very hard to get their jobs but instead of focusing on that they focus more on conflicts. Lots of teens have shown materialism. Which is bad because they think that having more name brand things is better than their family. It is obvious that reality T.V. does not have many great effects because it , encourages bad behavior, makes kids have a lack of focus, and lowers their self esteem. Similarities Between Mesopotamia And Harapppa The Ancient Complex Societies of Egypt, Mesopotamia, and Harappa The ancient complex societies of Egypt, Mesopotamia, and Harappa all had many different languages, religions, government, Locations, and architecture. When looking at these societies one may say that there was no sort of correlation between them but when you dig into the heart of these complex places you notice how close they all are. We see that their government and cities were built the same also many of their languages and writings have some sort of resemblance. Many of the ideas that each society believed and performed had at least one similar quality whether it be a similar dialect or even government. There is one thing that cannot be denied even though these societies were nowhere close to each other, there are major aspects that prove they are alike. In all the societies mentioned a major part is religion, all societies had a religion in addition all were polytheistic, meaning that they worshiped more than one God or goddess. The differences between them were that they had different names and meanings for each symbol. Egypt and Mesopotamian societies tented to have a stronger tie to religion than Harappa. • 9. How Did The British Government To Respond To The... The American Revolution was preceded in part by a series of British Parliament laws that regulated trade and taxes. Rumors from England that more taxes might follow encouraged some colonists to begin thinking about whether they really consented to taxes passed by a Parliament to which they elected no representatives. (1) This particular legislation of taxation caused tensions between colonists and local imperial officials, who readdressed the colonists concerns that the British Parliament would not address American complaints concerning the new laws. The unwillingness to respond to American demands for change by the British opened the doors to colonial argument that they were part of a corrupt and tyrannical empire in which their traditional liberties were at stake! This position eventually served as the foundation for the Declaration of Independence. As the British government emerged from the Seven Years War in 1763, they were troubled with outstanding debts. This led British Prime Minister George Grenville to reduce the tax collected on items such as sugar and molasses as they were imported into Great Britain, but also to enforce the law more strictly. Since enforcement of these taxes had previously been lenient, this increased revenue for the British Government in the the long term, and served to increase the taxes paid by the colonists. New York and Massachusetts colonial governments issued formal letters of protest to Parliament. (2) Add to this the Currency Act of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. The Importance Of Eye Contact In Social Settings locking eyes with the person asking the questions. Navarro (2009) points out that there is no research to prove this myth and that it is more likely anxiety or nervousness that prevents the person from looking directly at the person asking the question. Navarro (2009) also points out many other subtleties that go with eye movements such as rapid or slow blinking and what they mean. Eye Contact in Social Settings In his article about eye contact studies, also known as Oculesics, Anderson (2015) states that studies conducted over many years by different researchers have come to a consensus about how eye contact is perceived. Looking someone directly in the eye especially when you or they are talking is considered polite because it shows attention is being given even if that isn t the case inside the person s head. Sometimes eye contact can also be misleading. The example given in the popular press proposal about the neighbor asking your help to move and you don t want to but yet say yes, it is an example of misleading. A common myth however is that because a person isn t directly looking at a person when they are talking, you are being rude and not listening. However there is no research that can validate this myth. There are many people who actually listen better when they are tinkering with an object and even looking away. The other social aspect, especially in Asian cultures, is considered to be rude by showing little to no eye contact, especially during a handshake. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. The Pros And Cons Of Year-Round Schooling They do not view YRE as a calendar configuration for space, achievement, or enrichment, but rather as a part of the transformation toward a philosophy of long continuous learning. (Guthrie). One of the main purposes of Year Round Schooling is to lower the break time between school sessions. This causes children to have a better chance of retaining the knowledge that they learned from the previous year (Wyoming Tribune Eagle). Year round schools consist of the same amount of school days, 180 days, the difference is that it is spread out over 12 months instead of the original 10. When the original school schedule was made, it was made for families who farmed in the summer. Modern day Americans do not have to focus on the economic issue ... Since the teachers and students are in school for nine weeks have a week of break, they can know look forward to up to two or three weeks of break. With the cut down on the summer break to add to the other breaks throughout the year, students have a better chance of retaining knowledge. Solid waste like bags, foam, and other items dumped into the oceans from land or by ships at sea are frequently consumed, with often fatal effects, by marine mammals, fish, and birds that mistake it for food. Ocean currents corral trillions of decomposing plastic items and other trash into gigantic, swirling garbage patches (Pacific Trash Vortex) Fish and birds could be harmed from accidentally eating the plastic particles, or absorbing substances that leach out into the water. The main problem is the accessibility to freshwater organisms that can be easily confused as natural food. IV Pollution Facts: The average American will throw away approximately 185 pounds of plastic per year.

  • 15. Self Denial And Self-Denialing In Miss Brill By Katherine... There are millions of people who live in self denial and self rejection. When one thinks of self denial, most people picture a young person trying to find his or her way through society without being ridiculed, but what does it mean when self denial lingers into adulthood? In her acclaimed short story, Miss Brill author Katherine Mansfield does not detail her story in a descriptive, elaborate style, yet the reader can infer that the protagonist, Miss Brill, is a woman who is self conscious and yearns to be important to the point she denies her pain and sorrow. Miss Brill desires to be normal since in the literary article Reductive Imagery in Miss Brill she is depicted as an a foreigner (in xenophobic France) without friends or relatives (Mandel 474) Anyone in that situation would try his or her best to fit in and not be mocked. The fur and pieces of clothing in the story are a symbol of her hidden self denial and low confidence. Miss Brill goes out to present the clothes so the public would take notice, but the public did not. People who wear nice clothing want others to notice, and when people notice the nice clothing, a person s confidence is elevated. Mrs. Brill is hurt that no one takes the time out to compliment or notice her. She yearns to be important to the public and be a person of significance. Yet, notice how Miss Brill is so detached from the society she is living in. She is more immersed in living through society instead of living her life and it produces ... It wasn t that long ago when America was the only place that a person could peacefully protest the government or its rules without having any fears of being punished. But at what point does peacefully protesting become both civil disobedience and a harmful act to society? Civil disobedience negatively impacts society because it not only breaks laws, but it can also be used as an excuse for violence. Looking closer at the time period and situation of the civil rights movement reveals that civil disobedience is in fact negative to present day society. The Civil Rights Movements used a combination of peaceful protests and civil disobedience to attain their goals. There are two reasons why civil disobedience worked back then: There was no social media and the protesters knew that they could die even if they protested peacefully. 42 people were killed because of their involvement in the Civil Rights Movement from 1955 1968. (Southern Poverty Law Center) Nowadays, a protester knows he or she will not be murdered a few days after the protest because he or she participated in it. This lack of fear empowers protesters to push further their level of civil disobedience to the point where it s an unnecessary and violent act that hurts society. Another major difference between then and now is the use of social media. Before the advent of social media, on any given day an individual might have had the opportunity to share his or her feelings about an unfolding political event with, at most, 10 or 15 people. Now with a few strokes of the keyboard or swipes of a mobile phone, people can make their thoughts known instantly to hundreds or thousands of others. First, it is unreasonable to keep the product in their eye that long. Not even a child would keep a product in their eye that long. The whole experiment was unnecessary to do. The eye tissue of a rabbit is very different from a human eye tissue. The pain they go through had no benefits. A final reason why animal testing is pointless is that there is no law saying that it is necessary to test any product on animals. Why make an animal suffer when there is no need? There are alternatives for animal testing that would have better results for humans, and it would not be involved in any animal unkindness. Why do companies not realize that they do not have to experiment on innocent animals? No animal should have to suffer for an unreasonable cause. Rabi season starts after the kharif season and more popularly termed winter crop with plantation in November and harvest in February/March. Cultivation is triggered by the onset of the monsoon. Inputs such as seeds and capital equipment and preparatory farm equipment would be required at the initiation of crop farming. As the crop firms up, farmers would need fertilizers, crop nutrients, and pesticides. Later, farmers would need farmer extension support services, harvesting support, and support in reaching the markets. All these activities require an effective inventory management policy across the supply chain.
