Quality Of Quality And Safety
Managing quality and safety is vital in order to deliver effective healthcare today. Unfortunately, very
little is known about the quality of care due to the fact that there are a variety of definitions used for
the term quality (Stanhope Lancaster, 2014). This paper will discuss quality management in this
country s healthcare system, some approaches used for quality improvement, as well as the
perspectives of quality healthcare from healthcare professionals and clients.
Defining Quality Healthcare The concept of quality assurance has been around a while, however, the
major urge to improve it has only been around the past few years. According to Stanhope Lancaster
(2014), quality assurance (QA) is one of the evaluative steps in the nursing process. It uses analytic
methods to monitor and detect errors in client standards of safety and care. Another evaluative step in
the nursing process is quality improvement (QI). QI evaluates evidence based practice and analyzed
information in order to make improvements in quality healthcare. Total quality management (TQM) is
a philosophy that focuses on client satisfaction, teamwork, and continuous quality improvement
(CQI). Outcomes of quality healthcare are improved due to TQM. Continuous quality improvement
(CQI) can be described as an ongoing evolvement in healthcare quality contingent on exploring past
deviations from the standard of care. This philosophy involves constant surveillance of all records and
the implementation of

What Is The Theme Of Survival In The Road By Cormac Mccarthy
The ability to paint beautiful ideas on a canvas of dark events and imagery is an essential skill in the
arsenal of an accomplished writer. In his novel The Road, Cormac McCarthy demonstrates his
understanding of this skill. A reviewer from the San Francisco Chronicle described The Road saying,
[McCarthy s] tale of survival and the miracle of goodness only adds to McCarthy s stature as a living
master. It s gripping, frightening, and, ultimately, beautiful. These descriptions of the tale are true
throughout the novel, but particularly at the ending of the story. In the final pages of the book,
McCarthy continues to engage the reader with gripping and frightening moments, to emphasize the
theme of survival, and to reveal beauty and the miracle of goodness.
Throughout the novel, survival is a constant objective for the boy and his father. McCarthy s gripping
and frightening moments are most obviously interwoven with this theme. Soon after the death of his
father the boy looks up and sees that someone was coming. He started to turn and go back into the
woods but he didnt. He just stood in the road and waited, the pistol in his hand (McCarthy 281). With
the approach of this new potential threat, the boy s safety and survival are brought into question. As
the strange man comes near, a tension builds while the boy tries to make a decision that could quite
possibly affect the rest of his life. The tension dissipates when it is revealed that the man is not a
threat, but a

Does Political Journalism Affect The Uk Adequately Serve...
Does political journalism in the UK adequately serve the needs of a democratic political system?
The newspapers in the United Kingdom tend to take a partisan line in their reporting. According to
Michael Schudson (2001,165) the concept that a journalist should be objective is relatively new and
cannot be applied identically to all countries and contexts. 24, mass media politics ) He argues that the
need to be objective as a journalist is felt more strongly in the UK than in countries such as Germany
or China. There is an obvious distinction between what each citizen would choose to read about. The
middle class and business sector have a preference for the free market policies such as privitisation,

An article written in The Sun, with the headline If Kinnock wins today will the last person to leave
Britain please turn out the lights? has been thought of as contribution to the Conservative win in 1992
general election. The Sun, itself ran a headline announcing John Major s victory, stating it was the Sun
wot won it. This was repeated by The Sun in 2015 general election, using a photograph of Ed
Milliband struggling to eat a bacon sandwich, with the headline don t swallow his porkies and keep

News Corporation accounted for six popular national newspapers in the UK. This level of ownership
impacts the variety of ideas and values that can circulate. Concentration of media ownership threatens
democracy in political journalism(Baker, 2007), leading to over representation of political viewpoints,
values that are favoured by media owners. There is a negative correlation between media domination
and levels of pluralism which is needed in society, to sustain representation. The concentration of
media ownership leads to less competing suppliers, thus leaving a gap in a democratic political
system. Due to Rupert Murdoch s large media empire, it has been said that he has wielded political
power through his influence over headlines. It could be interpreted this way when considering the
support given by News Corporation owned newspapers, to Margaret Thatcher in the 1980s and Tony
Blair in 1997. The impact of Rupert Murdoch can also be shown

Self Definition
Self definition Throughout history black women have been stereotyped and put into many different
roles in society. Black women, it seems, have become the scapegoat for many issues and problems and
have been misrepresented usually by men, mostly by white men. Through the creation of the mammy,
the sapphire, the Jezebel, the strong black woman and more, black women have been misrepresented
and portrayed in negative ways in society. In a response to this labeling, black women have begun to
tell their own stories and speak out for themselves. Through their writings, black women writers have
been able to dispel the stereotypes of black women by showing the truth, the true story of the women,
told by the woman. Doing this, they have been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I m thinking bout telling Bovanne what a lovely dress Nisi got on instead I just haul the man on out
of there (Bambara 9). She decides to define herself. Toni Morrison uses situational irony in a
different manner, instead of using the women s thoughts she uses their actions. The expectations of the
reader are because of the upbringing and personal connection of Sula and Nel. The reader experiences
situational irony in upbringing through Nel and irony in the women s personal connection through
Sula. It may seem as if Nel will not become like her mother, leave the town, travel, become chaotic
and take chances. For days afterward she imagined other trips she would take Leaving Medallion
would be her goal (Morrison 29). Nel does none of this and settles into the life of the Bottom and
contrary to what the reader expects, she grows up to be almost exactly like her mother. Yet it is not
expected that Nel would do this and it is surprising when it happens. Morrison spends great detail
explaining the upbringing of both Nel and Sula to show that they are exact opposites, foils of each
other and the attraction that each has towards their different lives. Nel, grows up with a strict mother,
she is restricted by her mother and is never able to express herself. Her household is quiet and
reserved, in a sense, perfect and her mother is involved in the community and works hard to kill the
imagination and drive of her daughter. Sula grows up

The Economic Impact Of Nuclear Energy
3.1 Economic Impact of Nuclear Energy
The primary reason that people intend to build a nuclear power plant is the cost of nuclear energy. The
number of nuclear power stations increased dramatically during the first oil crisis. During that time,
the nuclear energy is taken as a substitution of fossil fuels with reasonable cost. Governments were
afraid that the high oil price in the future would affect economics, especially for those industrialized
countries who have a lack of natural resources such as Japan and some countries in Europe. Since the
nuclear stations can operate for a fairly long period, typically 40 to 60 years, the lifetime cost of
nuclear generated electricity is low and can be very competitive at a low price per unit energy
produced. Also, majority of the cost of nuclear energy is incurred during construction and preparation
before it starts operating. The cost of uranium affects little to the total cost of nuclear energy, so not
like a thermal power station, which is sensitive to the price of coal, natural gas or oil, the electricity
price from a nuclear power plant will be pretty stable. These advantages on cost will benefit both
industry and people s living. A report from Mckinsey about energy in Japan shows that after the
Fukushima accident, because of the shutdown of nuclear power plants, household electricity prices
have increased by more than 50% from 10 ₵/kWh to 16₵/kWh. [27] The rise of electricity price may
be a result of power shortage. This means

inventors in history. With out the invention of the plane, world war one and two would have been very
different and with out planes who knows what would have happened the Germans could have won the
war and the whole world would have been different then. I hope you enjoy this paper and I hope that
you learn a lot about the Wright Brothers that you didn t know before you read this paper. On
December 17, 1903, Orville Wright piloted the first powered airplane 20 feet above a wind swept
beach in North Carolina. The flight lasted 12 seconds and covered 120 feet. Three more flights were
made that day with Orville s brother Wilbur piloting the record flight lasting 59 seconds over a
distance of 852 feet. (Eyewitness to history.com) Where They Are from The Wright brothers where

The At The Royal Chinese Restaurant
For a restaurant that s practically busy most of the time and serves many people, this is the best
restaurant where a variety of customers can expand their palate and try this Chinese food experience.
This place is the type of Chinese restaurant that was everywhere in Toronto back in the day, but now?
It s quickly becoming a novelty. The Royal Chinese Restaurant is located on Sheppard Ave E in a
plaza complex. To actually get into the restaurant? Hectic. Reservations only by telephone or if you re
lucky, a table for 2 will be ready in a blink of an eye. The Royal Chinese Restaurant has a banquet
effect to it s style with advertisements of specials lined up against the wall, but only written in
Chinese. The service was very quick and fast. The waiters/waitresses were very polite and friendly
towards each and every customer, giving a warm welcome and making the customers feel comfortable
within the dining environment. One particular dish that I had ordered was the shrimp and rice dish.
The shrimp was cooked to perfection. The colour was perfectly pink and not translucent. Not
overcooked and not undercooked. Just right for my taste. One bite into of the shrimps and it was juicy.
Presentation wise, the shrimp was cut down the middle with the shell still on and was placed in the
middle of the rice bowl for a clean and appropriate presentation. With the clear juices running from
the shrimp and onto the glutinous rice for a more shrimp tasting dish. The glutinous rice was cooked

Cassius Speech Analysis
In Act I, Scene 2, the purpose of Cassis speech is to persuade Brutus to distrust Caesar, and to join him
in a conspiracy against Caesar. In his speech to Brutus, Cassius uses a variety of persuasive and
rhetorical devices to persuade Brutus to join his cause against Caesar. Cassius is desperate to have
Brutus on his side because of his close relation to Caesar and great respect and trust from the people of
Rome. The tone of Cassius speech to Brutus is introduced with Cassius appealing to Brutus sense of
responsibility towards Rome. Cassius tells Brutus that he has, Heard where many of the best respect in
Rome, except immortal Caesar, speaking of Brutus and groaning underneath this age s yoke, have
wished that noble Brutus had his eyes (I.ii.64 68). Cassius tells Brutus that he is admired by Rome,
appealing to Brutus value of putting Rome ahead of himself. Cassius uses knowledge of this value to
his advantage in his speech, insisting that killing Caesar will be for the good of Rome. Cassius also
introduces his speech by persuading Brutus that he is honorable and can be trusted. Cassius tells
Brutus that, Honor is the subject of my story (I.ii.99). This appeals to the speaker Cassius credibility
and has an ethical appeal on Brutus, or ethos. This appeal is effective because it connects with
something that Brutus values, honor. In Cassius speech to Brutus, he uses a comparison comparing
Caesar to a Colossus saying, Why, man, he doth bestride the narrow world like a Colossus, and we
petty men walk under his huge legs and peep about to find ourselves dishonorable graves (I.ii.142
144). Cassius is using an analogy comparing Caesar to Colossus, which was a large statue. Cassius
again uses Brutus value of honor to persuade when he tells Brutus that if Caesar is in power, he and
Brutus will die dishonorable deaths. During the time period, an honorable death was very important to
noble Romans, especially Brutus. When Cassius is comparing the two names Brutus and Caesar, he
uses the strategy of asking rhetorical questions. Brutus and Caesar: what should be in that Caesar?
Why should that name be sounded more than yours?(I.ii.149 151). Cassius also asks, Upon what meat
doth this our Caesar feed that he

The Beginning Of Modern Day Industry
The beginning of modern day industry.
More than perhaps any single person of the last century, Henry Ford can take responsibility for
creating the American consumer ethic and the American middle class. We can thank him or curse him
for what he has done, but either way, we have to acknowledge the impact Henry Ford had on our
society. When we think about it, we have to acknowledge the impact he has had on each of our
individual lives. You might not know that Henry Ford did not start out as a successful producer of
automobiles. After building his first car, the Quadricycle, and working to improve his basic design in
the prototypes that followed. In 1899 he formed the Detroit Automobile Company, which quickly
failed after only a few vehicles were produced. Henry and some of his original investors regrouped
and formed the Henry Ford Company which quickly ran into problems as well. Henry Ford was
dismissed by his board of directors from the company that carried his name because of his inability to
bring a car to production. The company was reorganized as the Cadillac Motor Car Company under
the engineering leadership of Henry Leland. In 1903 Henry Ford felt he was ready to market an
automobile for the public and the Ford Motor Company was incorporated, this time with a mere
$28,000 in cash put up by a new group of investors. That original $28,000 investment was spent down
to less than $300 before the company s first car was sold, but from that time on the company was on

Exploring the Therapeutic Effects of Yogic Techniques for...
The topic I chose to focus on for my research Masters Project is Exploring the therapeutic effects of
yogic techniques for stress management . I choose this topic because I am particularly interested in
stress and anxiety related mental and physical disorders with the use of yogic techniques. I also choose
this topic as little is known about the beneficial effects of a yoga practice and self care as an
alternative to medication interventions. Within the area of Social Care, the use of yogic techniques can
be extremely beneficial through creative approach for both service users and social care workers. The
need for alternative approaches to self care in the field of social care can be achieved through the use
of yogic techniques to help with stress management. The health benefits of yoga can help to reduce
stress and anxiety, enhancing mood and wellbeing and reduce the risk factors for chronic disorders.
Yogic techniques relocate focus and attention to the body and breath and can help to calm anxiety
while releasing physical tension. Overall, the use of yogic techniques can be used over a wide
population of people, varying in all ages, gender and physical limitations. The need for alternative
medicines in which individuals can learn self care rather than the use of medications is needed. Stress
and anxiety falls under the category of non communicable conditions. They are not infectious but are
long in duration and usually slowly progressive. They are estimated to account

Grounded Theory Of The Theory
grounded theory of 1967 and this development and testing of theory involved in grounded theory will
make it difficult to be classified as ordinary inductive based on the fact that theory not necessarily
meant to be tested in purely inductive research. Another point is the fact that classic grounded theory
originally is expected to commence without theory make it fundamentally different from case study
strategy. This is a point of argument between the two originators of the theory Glaser and Strauss after
they split on the opinion on whether it is possible to commence grounded theory with conceptual
framework. Strauss and his new partner Corbin in Corbin and Strauss (1990) agued to support
opportunity for conceptual framework at the start of a research study while Glaser in Glaser (1992)
countered the position of Strauss and Corbin by affirming that the essence of grounded theory is to
developed theory from empirical data and that issue of testing or verification is not part of grounded
theory. Today, theorists are fundamentally split along these two directions. This research study is
aligned with Strauss and Corbin direction but will not use classic grounded theory to avoid confusion
but the basic principle of Strauss and Corbin in the use of both inductive and deductive approaches
will be employed.

Knowledge And Characters In Shallow Graves By Kali Wallace
The Girl in the Grave
A girl who has been dead for over a year suddenly wakes up in her grave, and the first thing she does
is kill man. When Breezy wakes up in a backyard with a strange man standing over her, she is
frightened and scared. Throughout her journey, she learns to become less fearful and more determined.
She also learns that she is no longer human, and now has supernatural powers. She is soon to figure
out secrets about the the world, and how she died. Throughout the novel Shallow Graves by Kali
Wallace, Breezy portrays herself to be an intelligent, determined, and a supernatural young lady.
First, Breezy presents herself as an intelligent teenage girl who uses her knowledge in science and
math to help keep her grounded throughout the novel. In the story, she always carried around her
notebook to write down her observations and hypothesis (105). This habit displays her intelligence by
showing how involved she is in science, and how she uses it to advantage. This also displays her
intellectual abilities by showing how she can covert things she used in the classroom into her new life.
She furthermore demonstrates her intelligence by saying I worked it all out ...I convinced my teachers
to let me create independent math courses. (30). In that quote she was talking about her plan to get her

Trait Theory, As Its Name Suggest Is A Platform To Study
Trait theory, as its name suggest is a platform to study Human Psychology that identifies and measures
the degree to which certain personality traits recurring patterns of thought and behavior, such as
anxiousness, shyness, openness to new things exist from individual to individual. The subject involves
a set number of personality traits (although the number of traits can vary wildly) and assigns the
degree that a trait exists, which then determines the individual s personality. Dr. William Sheldon
(1898 1977) was an American psychologist who during his career held teaching and research posts at
a number of Universities in the United States. Much of Dr. William Sheldon s professional life was

Allport s theories remained influential in personality theory, but 4,000 traits were considered by many
to be unwieldy and impractical for applications. So in the 1940s, Raymond Cattell boiled Trait Theory
down to something more manageable. In Cattell s early career he was a research assistant to Charles
Spearman, who developed a way of approaching statistics called factor analysis, which involved
grouping commonly appearing factors in sets of data.
Raymond Cattell, was a British chemist, statistician and psychologist with a fascination for human
personality and behavior who disagreed with Eyesenck s view that personality could be understood by
looking at two or three dimensions. In the 1940s, Cattell began what was to be many years of research
into personality traits. Frustrated with personality theories that only seemed to describe separate
aspects of personality, he set out to try to identify all of the traits that made up a person. He was
influenced by the devastating effects of the First and Second World Wars, and hoped that if human
nature could be better understood, it would bring mankind closer to solving global political and
economic problems. In order to scientifically establish a formal framework for understanding
personality, Cattell used a statistical technique known as factor analysis. He started out with a list of
4,500 adjectives that could describe people (taken from the English

The Romance Of The Rose Analysis
The Romance of the Rose was written in the 13th century by Guillaume de Lorris and Jean de Meun.
De Lorris was a French poet that wrote the first section of the poem, while De Meun was a French
author that wrote the second section. After de Lorris wrote the first section, he died, which lead to de
Meun finishing it. Their parts are related but have many differences. As de Lorris section is very
comprehendible, de Meuns is vaguer and requires more critical thinking. The poem has created an
abundance of arguments surrounding the topic of a women s dignity and role. These arguments had
immense impacts on today s pop culture. The book developed the notion of love not being an emotion,
but more of a pose. They did this by making characteristics, such as Courtesy, Beauty, and Wealthy, as
characters themselves to see how they would act in certain circumstances. This helps the reader
believe that the authors are trying to display how these traits are treated in real life. The author states,
FIer color made her look like a new rosel and her skin was so tender that one could tear it with a tiny
thorn (de Lorris 42), which helps the reader understand how the characters names will be a big part of
the poem and the moral surrounding it. It also suggests that some women are less fragile, and harder to
pursue than others which is directly related to how people perceive women outside of the poem. The
imagery and descriptions of the narrator s thoughts controls how the whole poem is

Cambodian Genocide Essay
Cambodian Genocide Dead bodies everywhere you turn. The smell of gunpowder, filth, and death
choke your lungs. You wonder everyday whether it will be your last. All your body feels is pain; all
your heart feels is emptiness. One might think this is how life was for Jews during the Jewish
Holocaust. In reality, this is how life was for many Cambodians during the reign of Pol Pot between
1975 and 1979. This event, known to many as the Cambodian genocide, left a profound mark on the
world around us.

death camps spread across the country, the most famous is Tuol Sleng Prison, or S 21 as it is more

purpose for the prisons was to question and kill those that were opposed to the Khmer Rouge. Even
people from Western and European nationalities were kept as criminals. Before being placed in cells,

The impact of media s representation of ideal body size on...
(Posavac, Posavac Posavac, 1998). It has even been suggested that the Medias overwhelming
representation of thinness has a large contributing factor towards young women s attitudes of their
own body weight dissatisfaction (Jacobi Cash‚ 1994). This dissatisfaction stems from discrepancies
between the accepted standard of female body image repeatedly shown in today s media and their own
bodies leading to the formation of attitudes that their own weight is not adequate. For example, a meta
analysis comparing the results of 25 studies that presented media images of thin models, reported a

This finding suggests that by using average size models in advertising, it may protect some women
from developing body dissatisfaction and will help avoid worsening of any existing body image
concerns. Many campaigns have tried to address the detrimental effects that the medias consistent
endorsement of thinness has on women s self esteem, and the subsequent impact on mental health and
eating disorders. More specifically, a recent drive by the Government, in particular the Equalities
minister Jo Swinson, has encouraged the introduction of the use of plus size mannequins and models
by clothing retailers. It has been suggested that many women want to see more realistic images of
body shapes in magazines, TV and on the high street, and having models and mannequins that portray
that may promote healthier attitudes towards our own bodies among women, increasing body
confidence.
Previous research has highlighted the consequences of overrepresentation of thinness in the media on
attitudes about one s own body image, which in many cases leads to negative effects on mental health
and the development of eating disorders. This experiment is designed to investigate how exposure to
medias portrayal of ideal body size effects participants attitudes towards their own body weight. The
novel aspect of this research is that it will compare the effects of media images of fashion on size zero

The Girl Child

The very fact that the girl child has become a topic of discussion and debate, points to the fact that,
this is something different to the other of the human species. The girls have always and everywhere

beyond our comprehension, but, the fact remains that, the girl has not only been considered as the
lesser, but has always been really neglected also. It can not be imagined how this situation came into
being but, the sadder and more shocking situation is when, in the 20th century we call ourselves
highly civilized, cultured and educated and all else, the girl still finds it more and more difficult to
subsist on this planet. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So, what is happening to the girls now is that, though the awakening to their rights has come among
women, they are finding it an uphill task to fight it out with the authority of men, who are naturally
not liking the coming up of women. On the other hand the man, who always thought that he was the
superior being, finds it rather taxing to adjust to the idea of women coming up to their standards.
In this scenario, the girl child has a doublefold war front to fight it out for herself one being the older
women who do not allow the girl to rise, as, they do not seem to understand the need for it, and the
other is the male counterpart who have the fear of seeing her become an equal as, this will snatch
away from the man his centuries old platform of domination from him. In reality, what the present
situation is in India is also true about the whole world but of course it is not as bad as it is in India and
this is because of lack of education among the girls.
The girl child who has till now been an object of disgust, hate and wrath should become an object of
care and nurturing. This can happen only if and when both women and men develop an attitudinal
change, and realize the fact that, the girl is also as much of a human being as the boy, with her own
desires and aspirations and capacities. She should not be treated as a mere item of

Analysis of Cyrano de Bergerac as a Romantic Work Essay
Analysis of Cyrano de Bergerac as a Romantic Work
Appeal to emotions, individualism, and intellectual achievement were three important elements of
Romanticism. This essay will explore the degree to which Cyrano de Bergerac exemplifies these
elements of Romanticism.
First and foremost is the appeal to emotions. All of the other facets of romanticism can be related to
the emotional appeal in Cyrano de Bergerac. Because strong emotional appeal is perhaps the most
important method used by the author to create identity with the reader, especially in romantic works,
the actions which elicit the emotional responses must, then, show a great deal about the character. The
character s motives and philosophies can be determined ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The reader feels strongly for Cyrano to go for it! and is proud and respectful toward him because of
his magnelephant actions.
Cyrano s actions and the resulting emotional response from the reader, then, portray him as an
individual. During this age of romanticism, this was considered to be the chic thing to do. Here we
have the feeling of the fashionability of Cyrano s actions. He is a moral leader which the people look
up to.
As the play progresses, we are shown various incidents in the play which elicit emotional responses
from the reader: the longing Cyrano has for Roxane; his belief that he can never have her because of
his appearance; a comical intervention as Christian gets a nose up on Cyrano; Cyrano and Christian
working together to court Roxane; the author of the letters to Roxane being unknown to her; the
passionate speech which Cyrano delivers to Roxane from behind the shrub; the existence of the cadets
in such grim conditions; the death of Christian; the final resolution of Cyrano s love for Roxane and
his death.
These emotions are what define the play and make it great.
A second characteristic of romanticism is individualism. Throughout the play, it is regarded as noble
in spirit to be individualistic, and Cyrano demonstrates to this effect repeatedly. His white plumes of
freedom are perhaps the most vivid example of this independent spirit. He openly and willingly defies
the standards set forth by traditional culture in

Essay On Ambulatory Care
Ambulatory care, also known as outpatient care consists of care that is done outside of the hospital
setting. Ambulatory care may be of a specialized nature or not, and patients are usually not going to
stay in the facility overnight. Some examples of ambulatory care include dialysis centers, surgical
center, physicians offices, and outpatient centers. I believe that ambulatory helps by allowing for there
to be mostly patients in the hospital who are severely sick and need constant monitoring. In the first
article titled, Outpatient Palliative Care for Chronic Heart Failure: A Case Series, it is discussed that
outpatient care for the patient with chronic heart failure is still a new subject matter. There is a need
for ambulatory care for the specific patient population which is the chronic heart failure patient, but
there is little knowledge on how to provide them with the care that they need in the outpatient setting.

the client with a chronic illness needs. The conclusion of this article is that there needs to be

for without an inflation of chronic conditions as they advance in age. This article displays the need for
outsourcing care of patients to outpatient care. This will affect the care that I provide as a nurse in a
positive way because I believe that as these increased needs get sorted out the care that nurse will be

Once they had three of their children Phil became an alcoholic and left the family. Kay allowed him
back in if he accepted the word of God and the gospel. A few years later Phil wanted a duck call that
sounded very realistic, so he took it upon himself and started the company Duck Commander. While
this was going on, one summer Willie attended a Christian summer camp and met Korie. Seven years
later, they went to college at Harding University together and ended up getting married. In about
twenty years, the family business was growing and Phil and Kay could not keep up with the demand,
so Korie and Willie bought half the company. Willie made great changes and turned the company into
the successful entity it is today. Korie and Willie had two kids and three adopted children and Willie
finally had the success he dreamed of he is no longer living in poverty. The family continues to run
their business and film for their TV show: Duck Dynasty.

The Bible The Bible was a major symbol of unity in the family. When Phil left and came back he
turned to The Bible to unite the family. When times got tough in the business, Kay would turn to The

Analysis of Out, Out by Robert Frost Essay
Analysis of Out, Out by Robert Frost
Robert Frost tells a disturbing story in Out, Out, , in which a little boy loses his life. The title of the
poem leaves the reader to substitute the last word of the title, which some would assume would be out
because of the repetition. The title is referring to the boy exiting the living world. Frost drags the
reader s mind into the poem with the imagistic description of the tools and atmosphere the little boy is
surrounded by.
Frost describes the little boy s work in the first two lines by saying the stove length sticks of wood,
inferring the practical nature of his work. The mountains described in the next lines further add to the
captive nature of the poem. Vermont provides a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The sister prepares the evening meal, making her contribution to the family; and calls on the boy to
come and eat. The saw in the boy?s hands was still running and when he took his attention away from
his work, and that split second of carelessness cost him an extremity. His instincts raised his arm
upward to keep all the blood from spilling out immediately. When he realized what was happening,
the boy finally realized he was to young to be doing a man?s work. The boy ?saw all spoiled,? and
now knew his whole childhood had vanished and it was impossible to get it back. The boy frantically
called out to his sister to make the doctor keep his hand on. The boy?s body must have instantly gone
into shock and not felt the absence of the hand. When the doctor arrived he gave him some ether to
make him go to sleep. The little boy began to lose his pulse and soon he was a stranger to the world.
The people surrounding the boy never expected the loss of his hand to tragically end the little boy?s
life. Frost?s almost appalling casual description of death shocks the reader enough to make them
think. ?Since they were not the one dead, turned to their affairs,? describes the environment of the
survivors. They are forced to move on with their life and keep working because they cannot afford to
stop and mourn.
The poem ?Out, Out, ? can only be described as an ironic misfortune that could be experienced by
anyone. The realistic subject

Chicken Pox and Epidemiology

Chicken Pox and Epidemiology
Chicken Pox is a virus caused by varicella zoster, a member of the herpes family. This same virus also
is a cause of herpes zoster other known as shingles in adults. Chicken pox is very contagious and can
easily spread to people. Chicken pox is acquired by coming into contact with the fluid of a chicken
pox blister, or airborne by an infected person sneezing near you. The blister like rash usually lasts five
to ten days. The incubation period lasts 10 21 days and a person with chickenpox becomes contagious
one to two days before their blisters appear. The person with chicken pox remains contagious until all

The person should avoid scratching or rubbing the itchy areas and keep their fingernails short to avoid
damaging the skin. The infected person should avoid prolonged exposure to excessive heat and
humidity. The use of over the counter antihistamines or hydrocortisone creams may be recommended
for itch relief. Some doctors may prescribe antivirals if the rash began within 24 hours. Antiviral
medication is not usually prescribed to otherwise healthy children who do not have severe symptoms.
Antivirals are usually prescribed to high risk groups whom are prone to severe symptoms such as
eczema, lung conditions, or who immunocompromised individuals. The infected person should also be
advised to avoid aspirin due to association with a serious condition called Reyes syndrome or
Ibuprofen due to the association of more severe secondary infections. Tylenol is recommended for
fever relief. Some complications that can occur are bacterial infections secondary to scratching,
encephalitis, pneumonia and death. The preventions of chickenpox are acquired by vaccination with
the varicella vaccine in children, adolescents, and adults, and the herpes zoster vaccine for persons of
60 and older (Maurer Smith). The Centers for Disease and controls estimates that 95% of Americans
will have chickenpox by the time they reach adulthood. The CDC also estimates that there are 4
million cases with a100 deaths and 9300 hospitalizations a

Drafting the Constitution Essay
By the late eighteenth century, America found itself independent from England; which was a
welcomed change, but also brought with it, its own set of challenges. The newly formed National
Government was acting under the Articles of Confederation, which established a firm league of
friendship between the states, but did not give adequate power to run the country. To ensure the young
nation could continue independently, Congress called for a Federal Convention to convene in
Philadelphia to address the deficiencies in the Articles of Confederation. While the Congress only
authorized the convention to revise and amend the Articles the delegates quickly set out to develop a
whole new Constitution for the country. Unlike the Articles of ... Show more content on

One of the first debates over the institution of the National Executive was whether the Executive
should consist of a single person as motioned by James Wilson, of Pennsylvania, and seconded by
Charles Pinckney, of South Carolina. The idea of a single Executive met with strong opposition due to
conjuring images of their former oppression under British rule. Due to the fact that all delegates were
old enough to remember, many of them to have fought against, the rule by Britain, it was easy for
them to compare what they were trying to create to what they already knew and in some cases
detested. To defend against the Executive morphing into a monarchy there was a suggestion of a three
person Executive branch that was put forward by Randolph who felt the people would not properly
support a signal Executive. The idea of a three person branch would give a representative from the
Northern, Middle, and Southern States. Pierce Butler of South Carolina, having seen firsthand in
Holland the issues caused by plurality, strongly objected. As happened many times during the
convention the motion was postponed. James Madison made the suggestion that the powers of the
president devised before there be a decision of single or plural Executive stating, definition of their
extent would assist the judgment in determining how far they might safely entrusted to a single officer.

There is Nothing Too Hard For God
The birth of Ishmael was the result of Abraham s attempt to assist God. (Genesis 16)
Thirteen years after the birth of Ishmael (Abraham was ninety nine years old), the LORD repeated His
promise to Abraham and made clear that Sarah would bear the child of promise. (Genesis 17 21) The
fact that Abraham fell on his face and laughed is an indication that he did not laugh at God as certain
people have thought; rather, he laughed at the idea of a son being born to a hundred year old man and
a ninety year old woman. That notion, from the human perspective, was laughable; nonetheless, he
accepted it. Abraham s laugh was not a mocking or sneering act, but one of doubt concerning such an
outrageous idea. Yet,

Essay On Nature Vs Nurture
Nature Versus Nurture Within a Violent Adult s Child Development A majority of adulthood can
account for how an adult was as a child. During these important developmental stages humans are
incredibly inclined to absorb their environment and the social norms of those surrounding them.
However, nature versus nurture is the theory I which debates whether humans are more impacted by
their genetics or how they were raised. I am exceptionally interested in the development of children
and how their environment and genetics impact them as adults. I chose this specific topic because I am
also interested in the past of violent adults and how they arrived at the place they currently are
mentally. Within this essay, evidence will be prevented ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, this is damaging to society because early signs of violent habits can be ignored or not taken
care as well. Unsurprisingly, most serial killers have experienced a childhood filled with various
amounts of violence or abuse. Violence and abuse can be detrimental to the development of a child,
especially during their sensitive stages. Sensitive stages are when a child is more apt to learn
something and strengthen their brain. The reason these stages are so detrimental are because the social
norms learned during this time become habitual. Abuse can have a large spectrum. Abuse can be
defined as neglect throughout childhood, whether that is emotional, physically, or both. Abuse can
also be violent acts toward the child or a spouse. Violence can vary from sexual abuse to physical
abuse or both. These factors are the foundations of a child who may have violent tendencies when they
grow into adulthood. Secondly, children with an uninvolved family environment are especially
inclined for a violent future. The reasoning behind this statement expressed by the authors is because
the children are often forced to undergo the role of the caretaker when they are young. This causes a
difficult childhood and can cause the yearn for revenge. This yearn for revenge can often become
violence. A portion of the sample Bowers, Flaherty, Harrison, and Bowers (2015) executed showed the
adults had experiences some sort of

supposedly able to serve as models for the human body, undertaking the hazardous conditions of the

  • 2. Quality Of Quality And Safety Managing quality and safety is vital in order to deliver effective healthcare today. Unfortunately, very little is known about the quality of care due to the fact that there are a variety of definitions used for the term quality (Stanhope Lancaster, 2014). This paper will discuss quality management in this country s healthcare system, some approaches used for quality improvement, as well as the perspectives of quality healthcare from healthcare professionals and clients. Defining Quality Healthcare The concept of quality assurance has been around a while, however, the major urge to improve it has only been around the past few years. According to Stanhope Lancaster (2014), quality assurance (QA) is one of the evaluative steps in the nursing process. It uses analytic methods to monitor and detect errors in client standards of safety and care. Another evaluative step in the nursing process is quality improvement (QI). QI evaluates evidence based practice and analyzed information in order to make improvements in quality healthcare. Total quality management (TQM) is a philosophy that focuses on client satisfaction, teamwork, and continuous quality improvement (CQI). Outcomes of quality healthcare are improved due to TQM. Continuous quality improvement (CQI) can be described as an ongoing evolvement in healthcare quality contingent on exploring past deviations from the standard of care. This philosophy involves constant surveillance of all records and the implementation of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. What Is The Theme Of Survival In The Road By Cormac Mccarthy The ability to paint beautiful ideas on a canvas of dark events and imagery is an essential skill in the arsenal of an accomplished writer. In his novel The Road, Cormac McCarthy demonstrates his understanding of this skill. A reviewer from the San Francisco Chronicle described The Road saying, [McCarthy s] tale of survival and the miracle of goodness only adds to McCarthy s stature as a living master. It s gripping, frightening, and, ultimately, beautiful. These descriptions of the tale are true throughout the novel, but particularly at the ending of the story. In the final pages of the book, McCarthy continues to engage the reader with gripping and frightening moments, to emphasize the theme of survival, and to reveal beauty and the miracle of goodness. Throughout the novel, survival is a constant objective for the boy and his father. McCarthy s gripping and frightening moments are most obviously interwoven with this theme. Soon after the death of his father the boy looks up and sees that someone was coming. He started to turn and go back into the woods but he didnt. He just stood in the road and waited, the pistol in his hand (McCarthy 281). With the approach of this new potential threat, the boy s safety and survival are brought into question. As the strange man comes near, a tension builds while the boy tries to make a decision that could quite possibly affect the rest of his life. The tension dissipates when it is revealed that the man is not a threat, but a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Does Political Journalism Affect The Uk Adequately Serve... Does political journalism in the UK adequately serve the needs of a democratic political system? The newspapers in the United Kingdom tend to take a partisan line in their reporting. According to Michael Schudson (2001,165) the concept that a journalist should be objective is relatively new and cannot be applied identically to all countries and contexts. 24, mass media politics ) He argues that the need to be objective as a journalist is felt more strongly in the UK than in countries such as Germany or China. There is an obvious distinction between what each citizen would choose to read about. An article written in The Sun, with the headline If Kinnock wins today will the last person to leave Britain please turn out the lights? has been thought of as contribution to the Conservative win in 1992 general election. The Sun, itself ran a headline announcing John Major s victory, stating it was the Sun wot won it. This was repeated by The Sun in 2015 general election, using a photograph of Ed Milliband struggling to eat a bacon sandwich, with the headline don t swallow his porkies and keep him out. (mmpd) News Corporation accounted for six popular national newspapers in the UK. This level of ownership impacts the variety of ideas and values that can circulate. Concentration of media ownership threatens democracy in political journalism(Baker, 2007), leading to over representation of political viewpoints, values that are favoured by media owners. There is a negative correlation between media domination and levels of pluralism which is needed in society, to sustain representation. The concentration of media ownership leads to less competing suppliers, thus leaving a gap in a democratic political system. Due to Rupert Murdoch s large media empire, it has been said that he has wielded political power through his influence over headlines. It could be interpreted this way when considering the support given by News Corporation owned newspapers, to Margaret Thatcher in the 1980s and Tony Blair in 1997. Black women, it seems, have become the scapegoat for many issues and problems and have been misrepresented usually by men, mostly by white men. Through the creation of the mammy, the sapphire, the Jezebel, the strong black woman and more, black women have been misrepresented and portrayed in negative ways in society. In a response to this labeling, black women have begun to tell their own stories and speak out for themselves. She decides to define herself. Toni Morrison uses situational irony in a different manner, instead of using the women s thoughts she uses their actions. The expectations of the reader are because of the upbringing and personal connection of Sula and Nel. The reader experiences situational irony in upbringing through Nel and irony in the women s personal connection through Sula. It may seem as if Nel will not become like her mother, leave the town, travel, become chaotic and take chances. For days afterward she imagined other trips she would take Leaving Medallion would be her goal (Morrison 29). Nel does none of this and settles into the life of the Bottom and contrary to what the reader expects, she grows up to be almost exactly like her mother. Yet it is not expected that Nel would do this and it is surprising when it happens. Morrison spends great detail explaining the upbringing of both Nel and Sula to show that they are exact opposites, foils of each other and the attraction that each has towards their different lives. Nel, grows up with a strict mother, she is restricted by her mother and is never able to express herself. Her household is quiet and reserved, in a sense, perfect and her mother is involved in the community and works hard to kill the imagination and drive of her daughter. Sula grows up ... • 7. The Economic Impact Of Nuclear Energy 3.1 Economic Impact of Nuclear Energy The primary reason that people intend to build a nuclear power plant is the cost of nuclear energy. The number of nuclear power stations increased dramatically during the first oil crisis. During that time, the nuclear energy is taken as a substitution of fossil fuels with reasonable cost. Governments were afraid that the high oil price in the future would affect economics, especially for those industrialized countries who have a lack of natural resources such as Japan and some countries in Europe. Since the nuclear stations can operate for a fairly long period, typically 40 to 60 years, the lifetime cost of nuclear generated electricity is low and can be very competitive at a low price per unit energy produced. Also, majority of the cost of nuclear energy is incurred during construction and preparation before it starts operating. The cost of uranium affects little to the total cost of nuclear energy, so not like a thermal power station, which is sensitive to the price of coal, natural gas or oil, the electricity price from a nuclear power plant will be pretty stable. These advantages on cost will benefit both industry and people s living. A report from Mckinsey about energy in Japan shows that after the Fukushima accident, because of the shutdown of nuclear power plants, household electricity prices have increased by more than 50% from 10 ₵/kWh to 16₵/kWh. [27] The rise of electricity price may be a result of power shortage. This means ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Royal Chinese Restaurant is located on Sheppard Ave E in a plaza complex. To actually get into the restaurant? Hectic. Reservations only by telephone or if you re lucky, a table for 2 will be ready in a blink of an eye. The Royal Chinese Restaurant has a banquet effect to it s style with advertisements of specials lined up against the wall, but only written in Chinese. The service was very quick and fast. The waiters/waitresses were very polite and friendly towards each and every customer, giving a warm welcome and making the customers feel comfortable within the dining environment. • 10. Cassius Speech Analysis In Act I, Scene 2, the purpose of Cassis speech is to persuade Brutus to distrust Caesar, and to join him in a conspiracy against Caesar. In his speech to Brutus, Cassius uses a variety of persuasive and rhetorical devices to persuade Brutus to join his cause against Caesar. Cassius is desperate to have Brutus on his side because of his close relation to Caesar and great respect and trust from the people of Rome. The tone of Cassius speech to Brutus is introduced with Cassius appealing to Brutus sense of responsibility towards Rome. Cassius tells Brutus that he has, Heard where many of the best respect in Rome, except immortal Caesar, speaking of Brutus and groaning underneath this age s yoke, have wished that noble Brutus had his eyes (I.ii.64 68). Cassius tells Brutus that he is admired by Rome, appealing to Brutus value of putting Rome ahead of himself. Cassius uses knowledge of this value to his advantage in his speech, insisting that killing Caesar will be for the good of Rome. Cassius also introduces his speech by persuading Brutus that he is honorable and can be trusted. Cassius tells Brutus that, Honor is the subject of my story (I.ii.99). This appeals to the speaker Cassius credibility and has an ethical appeal on Brutus, or ethos. This appeal is effective because it connects with something that Brutus values, honor. In Cassius speech to Brutus, he uses a comparison comparing Caesar to a Colossus saying, Why, man, he doth bestride the narrow world like a Colossus, and we petty men walk under his huge legs and peep about to find ourselves dishonorable graves (I.ii.142 144). Cassius is using an analogy comparing Caesar to Colossus, which was a large statue. Cassius again uses Brutus value of honor to persuade when he tells Brutus that if Caesar is in power, he and Brutus will die dishonorable deaths. During the time period, an honorable death was very important to noble Romans, especially Brutus. When Cassius is comparing the two names Brutus and Caesar, he uses the strategy of asking rhetorical questions. Brutus and Caesar: what should be in that Caesar? Why should that name be sounded more than yours?(I.ii.149 151). Cassius also asks, Upon what meat doth this our Caesar feed that he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. The Beginning Of Modern Day Industry The beginning of modern day industry. More than perhaps any single person of the last century, Henry Ford can take responsibility for creating the American consumer ethic and the American middle class. We can thank him or curse him for what he has done, but either way, we have to acknowledge the impact Henry Ford had on our society. When we think about it, we have to acknowledge the impact he has had on each of our individual lives. You might not know that Henry Ford did not start out as a successful producer of automobiles. After building his first car, the Quadricycle, and working to improve his basic design in the prototypes that followed. In 1899 he formed the Detroit Automobile Company, which quickly failed after only a few vehicles were produced. Henry and some of his original investors regrouped and formed the Henry Ford Company which quickly ran into problems as well. Henry Ford was dismissed by his board of directors from the company that carried his name because of his inability to bring a car to production. The company was reorganized as the Cadillac Motor Car Company under the engineering leadership of Henry Leland. In 1903 Henry Ford felt he was ready to market an automobile for the public and the Ford Motor Company was incorporated, this time with a mere $28,000 in cash put up by a new group of investors. That original $28,000 investment was spent down to less than $300 before the company s first car was sold, but from that time on the company was on its ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The need for alternative approaches to self care in the field of social care can be achieved through the use of yogic techniques to help with stress management. The health benefits of yoga can help to reduce stress and anxiety, enhancing mood and wellbeing and reduce the risk factors for chronic disorders. Yogic techniques relocate focus and attention to the body and breath and can help to calm anxiety while releasing physical tension. Overall, the use of yogic techniques can be used over a wide population of people, varying in all ages, gender and physical limitations. The need for alternative medicines in which individuals can learn self care rather than the use of medications is needed. Stress and anxiety falls under the category of non communicable conditions. Grounded Theory Of The Theory grounded theory of 1967 and this development and testing of theory involved in grounded theory will make it difficult to be classified as ordinary inductive based on the fact that theory not necessarily meant to be tested in purely inductive research. Another point is the fact that classic grounded theory originally is expected to commence without theory make it fundamentally different from case study strategy. This is a point of argument between the two originators of the theory Glaser and Strauss after they split on the opinion on whether it is possible to commence grounded theory with conceptual framework. Strauss and his new partner Corbin in Corbin and Strauss (1990) agued to support opportunity for conceptual framework at the start of a research study while Glaser in Glaser (1992) countered the position of Strauss and Corbin by affirming that the essence of grounded theory is to developed theory from empirical data and that issue of testing or verification is not part of grounded theory. Today, theorists are fundamentally split along these two directions. This research study is aligned with Strauss and Corbin direction but will not use classic grounded theory to avoid confusion but the basic principle of Strauss and Corbin in the use of both inductive and deductive approaches will be employed. Allport s theories remained influential in personality theory, but 4,000 traits were considered by many to be unwieldy and impractical for applications. So in the 1940s, Raymond Cattell boiled Trait Theory down to something more manageable. In Cattell s early career he was a research assistant to Charles Spearman, who developed a way of approaching statistics called factor analysis, which involved grouping commonly appearing factors in sets of data. Raymond Cattell, was a British chemist, statistician and psychologist with a fascination for human personality and behavior who disagreed with Eyesenck s view that personality could be understood by looking at two or three dimensions. In the 1940s, Cattell began what was to be many years of research into personality traits. Frustrated with personality theories that only seemed to describe separate aspects of personality, he set out to try to identify all of the traits that made up a person. He was influenced by the devastating effects of the First and Second World Wars, and hoped that if human nature could be better understood, it would bring mankind closer to solving global political and economic problems. In order to scientifically establish a formal framework for understanding personality, Cattell used a statistical technique known as factor analysis. • 17. The Romance Of The Rose Analysis The Romance of the Rose was written in the 13th century by Guillaume de Lorris and Jean de Meun. De Lorris was a French poet that wrote the first section of the poem, while De Meun was a French author that wrote the second section. After de Lorris wrote the first section, he died, which lead to de Meun finishing it. Their parts are related but have many differences. As de Lorris section is very comprehendible, de Meuns is vaguer and requires more critical thinking. The poem has created an abundance of arguments surrounding the topic of a women s dignity and role. These arguments had immense impacts on today s pop culture. The book developed the notion of love not being an emotion, but more of a pose. They did this by making characteristics, such as Courtesy, Beauty, and Wealthy, as characters themselves to see how they would act in certain circumstances. This helps the reader believe that the authors are trying to display how these traits are treated in real life. The author states, FIer color made her look like a new rosel and her skin was so tender that one could tear it with a tiny thorn (de Lorris 42), which helps the reader understand how the characters names will be a big part of the poem and the moral surrounding it. It also suggests that some women are less fragile, and harder to pursue than others which is directly related to how people perceive women outside of the poem. It has even been suggested that the Medias overwhelming representation of thinness has a large contributing factor towards young women s attitudes of their own body weight dissatisfaction (Jacobi Cash‚ 1994). This dissatisfaction stems from discrepancies between the accepted standard of female body image repeatedly shown in today s media and their own bodies leading to the formation of attitudes that their own weight is not adequate. More specifically, a recent drive by the Government, in particular the Equalities minister Jo Swinson, has encouraged the introduction of the use of plus size mannequins and models by clothing retailers. It has been suggested that many women want to see more realistic images of body shapes in magazines, TV and on the high street, and having models and mannequins that portray that may promote healthier attitudes towards our own bodies among women, increasing body confidence. Previous research has highlighted the consequences of overrepresentation of thinness in the media on attitudes about one s own body image, which in many cases leads to negative effects on mental health and the development of eating disorders. Why this has come to be, is beyond our comprehension, but, the fact remains that, the girl has not only been considered as the lesser, but has always been really neglected also. In this scenario, the girl child has a doublefold war front to fight it out for herself one being the older women who do not allow the girl to rise, as, they do not seem to understand the need for it, and the other is the male counterpart who have the fear of seeing her become an equal as, this will snatch away from the man his centuries old platform of domination from him. Analysis of Cyrano de Bergerac as a Romantic Work Essay Analysis of Cyrano de Bergerac as a Romantic Work Appeal to emotions, individualism, and intellectual achievement were three important elements of Romanticism. This essay will explore the degree to which Cyrano de Bergerac exemplifies these elements of Romanticism. First and foremost is the appeal to emotions. All of the other facets of romanticism can be related to the emotional appeal in Cyrano de Bergerac. Cyrano s actions and the resulting emotional response from the reader, then, portray him as an individual. During this age of romanticism, this was considered to be the chic thing to do. Here we have the feeling of the fashionability of Cyrano s actions. He is a moral leader which the people look up to. As the play progresses, we are shown various incidents in the play which elicit emotional responses from the reader: the longing Cyrano has for Roxane; his belief that he can never have her because of his appearance; a comical intervention as Christian gets a nose up on Cyrano; Cyrano and Christian working together to court Roxane; the author of the letters to Roxane being unknown to her; the passionate speech which Cyrano delivers to Roxane from behind the shrub; the existence of the cadets in such grim conditions; the death of Christian; the final resolution of Cyrano s love for Roxane and his death. These emotions are what define the play and make it great. A second characteristic of romanticism is individualism. Throughout the play, it is regarded as noble in spirit to be individualistic, and Cyrano demonstrates to this effect repeatedly. His white plumes of freedom are perhaps the most vivid example of this independent spirit. He openly and willingly defies the standards set forth by traditional culture in ...
