The Servant, portrays a difficult journey of understanding this concept, while also addressing many
of the main components of servant leadership. In this paper, I will discuss the concept of servant
leadership and how reading about this concept has helped me reach my goals to become a

Definitions and Background
The term, servant leadership was first coined in 1970 by Robert K. Greenleaf (Marquis Huston,
2015). The concept was introduced in Greenleaf s essay, The Servant as Leader (Greenleaf,
1991). In Greenleaf s essay he mentions that a servant leader focuses on the growth, as well as the
wellbeing of the people and the communities that they belong in (Greenleaf, 1991). A servant
leader helps others work at their best, which I believe results in authority for the servant leader.
Hunter s book mentions this when a student discovers that the right to be called a leader starts out
with having the proper will. With the proper will, comes the decision to love others (Hunter, 1998).

Dred Scott was a slave to Peter Blow family who suffered financial constraints then later sold
Scott to a surgeon John Emerson. Emerson moved with Scott to Fort Snelling where slavery
was not allowed by Missouri Compromise. During his period at Fort Snelling, Scott married
Harriet Robinson a slave too with whom they had two children. Emerson and Scott s family later
moved back to St Louis in the year 1940 where they lived. In 1946 Dr. Emerson passed on, and
Scott s family was left behind with Emerson s widow as their master. After Dr. Emerson demise,
Scott sued Emerson s family arguing that by him having stayed in Fort Snelling, he had attained
his freedom while there and he was a free man. In sought of his freedom, the case was presented
to State court, but unfortunately, he lost in case. The case was appealed, and in the year 1857,
the case was ruled out by Chief Justice Roger Taney. In the ruling, the court ruled out that, Scotts

Consumer experience is resultant of an interactive relationship between a customer and an
establishment. It is created via the business and its employees, the consumers themselves and other
contributing factors (Verhoef et al., 2009). In order to understand consumption experience, we
visited the Green Island s Rummage Shop and RecyclingCentre. This establishment is, for the most
part, a recycling station and second hand store containing items that have been extracted from what
is brought to the dump, then cleaned in order to be sold on to customers. At the Rummage Shop,
we informally interviewed over a dozen people who we thought could provide insight on consumer
experience at Green Island. We then analysed these findings, as well as reflecting on our own
consumption experience at this place. Social and cultural influence was the main consumer
behaviour theory we applied when discussing how consumer s experience Green Island Rummage
Shop and Recycling Centre. We discussed their consumption experience here in terms of why
consumers consume in a recycling based environment, their consumption choices and their

rare to think I am just dreaming in a dream. In the 1990s movie Total Recall the director, Paul
Verhoeven, attempts to illustrate the puzzling question of what is reality and what is not? With
Arnold Schwarzenegger in this futuristic flick, the director cleverly confuses the audience about

deceived by a conniving and mischievous demon that was hell bent on distorting his reality. The

Education is a main factor that Socrates discusses throughout his trial in the Apology and in
Meno. One of the main factors discussed in both texts are the role of teachers in society and if
Socrates is a teacher. Socrates also relates past stories or experiences when giving his dialogues.
This allows him to explain his thoughts and reasons on certain topics. One final factor that plays
a role in both the Apology and Meno is the role of the gods through the dialogues. Teachers, stories,
and the role of gods all play a key role in the Apology and Meno as Socratesattempts to explain and
expand upon his views of education.
In the Apology Socrates states that he is not a teacher because he does not charge a fee, such as
Gorgias or Leontini do (pg. 24, 19 d e). Socrates does not consider himself a teacher because he
does not charge a fee, and he also does not preach what he does not know. According to Socrates,
those who have obtained great knowledge in certain subjects such as politics or poetry often come
to the conclusion that they have knowledge about everything and therefore can teach about
anything the choose (pg. 27, 23b). However, Socrates believes he is wiser than most because he

I decided to research the article Shift the Focus of the PMO From IT Project Risk Management
to Business Investment Risk Management. This topic interests me because I will be interning at
Ernst and Young next summer and will be primarily engaged in IT risk advisory, with an
emphasis on financial services. I want to develop an understanding of the type of work I will
perform in this position and believe this topic relates most appropriately to the position. The title
suggests that the article will be a higher level analysis, something I was looking for when choosing
an article.
The article focused on the benefits of shifting the emphasis from IT governance to business
change governance. This aids the PMO to see the full scope of all the risks involved in projects and
portfolios. The article provided six classes for risks. These were technology risk, schedule risk,
complexity risk, operational risk, business risk, and organizational risk. Contrary to popular belief,
multiple surveys indicate that technology risk is rarely the most important factor for an initiative.
These risks are then weighed and reviewed for potential hedging options. The article concluded
with the benefits of the PMO delegating ownership. The PMO will maintain a higher level view
of the project and gain significantly improved chances for success. IT may in some cases retain an

people around that rub off on us one way or the other. We have all of these influences around us,
most of whom are either non beneficial or unattainable. These, along with the ever present peer
pressure, make us become someone that s far away from who we really are, something that we
should attempt to move on from. It seems like today the overwhelming question for teenagers is
should they put on a fake persona for the sake of being accepted or live every day unfiltered at the
risk of being scrutinized?
When we step outside the friendly confines of our home, we prepare a face to show to the rest of
the world, one that shows we are living a great life and having everything going right for us. We
are expected to always put on a persona and show that our lives our great. On social media, we
all post pictures of us in our best moments; We show when we re on vacation, when we re at a
bonfire with friends, or when we re sitting in the suite level at a sporting event. However, we
never show the negatives; the times when we get a bad grade, a family member is sick, or an

Not many historical works have achieved more success and have generated more heated debate
than Daniel Goldhagen s book Hitler s Willing Executioners. Goldhagen s thesis relies on the idea
that since medieval times, a specific kind of eliminationist anti Semitism had developed in
Germany. According to Goldhagen, the German population was already open to the idea of
eliminating the Jews. He also claims that when Hitler came to Power in 1933, rather than slowly
convincing the Germans to commit mass murder, he merely gave them the opportunity to do what
they have wanted to do for years. Goldhagen also inflated the number of people involved,
suggesting that hundreds of thousands were participating in the killing and that millions more

Have you ever been late to a class because of parking? Have you ever had to show up hours
before class just to become that creep that follows people around trying to find a space to park?
Or even late to work because of the lack of parking? I know I have at Wright State University.
There is such limited parking for commuter students and causes safety problems for the students
on campus. Parking shouldn t be just another stress in a college students life, we should be able
to come to school knowing that they we make it to class on time because we will have access to
a parking spot. When you live on campus it should be you home away from home and you should

You can see that with parking passes we have some money coming in for that. Also, if you do
not follow these rules you will be given a ticket in which you have to pay. It is not a real ticket,
it is a campus ticket, there is students that drive around in a WSU specified car to look and
make sure everyone is parked where they should be and that everyone has a parking pass in
visible sight. Wright State does offer other options to help you with parking and getting to class
in a more efficient way. Here at WSU they offer what they call Raider Ride . Raider Ride will is
a bus that takes you from the Nutter Center up to the Main Campus. Online they give you the
schedule at what times the buses run and there is an application that will give you live bus
times, which can be useful. You park down at the Nutter Center, it is wheelchair accessible, but
the busses do not run during the summer semesters and on holidays or breaks. WSU is also
partners with the RTA bus services, it will take you from Wright State University to Downtown
Dayton, but you also have to have a bus pass and the RTA runs on specific times. We also have
ZipCars, which is very similar to renting a car for those students who may not have a car and
