Stephen Vincent Strange Research Paper
No. But I can. Again. Again. Again. And again. Forever. That makes you my prisoner. Doctor Stephen
Vincent Strange is a mystic artist and magician who was once a normal human being until his days
past then became who he is now. Doctor Strange was once a brilliant and proficient neurosurgeon.
After days and years of being a skilled neurosurgeon, he one day had an atrocious car accident. He
ended up having faulty injuries mainly his hands. As a neurosurgeon, you must need steady hands in
order for you not to mess up in any type surgery. Now that he damaged his hands badly, he is not able
to perform his everyday skill activity. Stephen needs to move on but he keeps trying his best to bring
back the time he once had before the car accident and injuries. Stephen decided search places all
around the globe for a place he or others can heal his hands and then he encounters the Ancient One.
Stephen then became an old sorcerer supreme student to learn, practice the mystical arts and martial
arts thinking he would learn how to heal himself. As he was learning mystic arts, he found two items
which gave him additional powers which made himself more powerful than other sorcerer students.
Since he got more additional powers, he fought threats from mystical creatures and magicians. By
preventing these threats, he saves the earth from being replaced with the dark dimension. Dr.Stephen

Information Security Threats
The problem experienced by the Wayward Pines Public Library of having one of their public access
computers (PAC) becoming a zombie member of a Botnet army is not an isolated one. As mentioned
by Kim Zetter (2015), Botnets have been around for more than a decade and have become one of the
most popular methods attackers use to hijack machines and make quick money. The security industry
estimates that botnets, over time, have resulted in more than $110 billion in losses to victims globally.
An estimated 500 million computers fall prey to botnet attackers annually, which comes down to
about 18 victims infected per second.

(B. Hough, p. 21) Finally, the deployment of a firewall configured to use PAT will ensure the
computers will use internal private IP addresses which will be translated to one external public IP
address. This essentially hides the entire internal IP address space behind the single external IP
address. (F. Semperboni, 2013) Using this model will allow the library to need one external IP address
provided by the ISP, allowing the return of the other 19 unused IP addresses. Therefore, the library
will only be billed for the signal IP address, saving them money. Additionally, the firewall should use
the statful examination of the traffic entering in thru the external interface on its way out of the
internal interfaces. If the traffic meets particular states that the firewall has identified as being
acceptable then, it allows the traffic to continue and drops those that do not. These types of firewalls
are the first and primary line of defense for most organizations and provide better performance over
other types of firewalls. (Tim Boyles, 2010, p.

Pros And Cons Of The President Andrew Jackson
Andrew Jackson was elected as President of the United States because the American people saw him
as a man for the people. His leadership during the Battle of New Orleans gave him the respect of
wealthy businessmen, and his worker roots gain the support of those who were struggling to carve
their own a comfortable and suitable position. The duty of the President is to watch over the people by
vetoing bills, making treaties, enforcing the nation s laws, and is the Commander in Chief of the
armed forces. President Andrew Jackson should not have been impeached because he did all these
things for the good of the people. All of his actions and parts he played in bank wars, nullification
crisis, and native american removal were constitutional. Overall ... Show more content on

The Bank war started in 1832 when the congress, lead by Henry Clay, renewed the Second National
Bank s charter even though it wasn t meant to expire till 1836. The Second Bank centralized financial
might, jeopardizing economic stability, and it did not answer to anyone within the government. That
partly concerned Jackson because he had no way to control it. Also because of his previous election
experiences, he thought that a bank with that much power could not remain free from the electoral
process. That was one of his reasons for wanting the bank gone, the other was that he saw the national
bank system as corrupt and unjust because it only benefited the elites and was suspected to favor the
wealthy. Jackson knew that if the bank was not shut down the gap between the rich and poor would
keep growing, resulting in an unstable economy. By vetoing the bank s charter, withdrawing the
federal government s deposits from the Bank of the United States, and placing it in state banks called
pet banks he was helping then general people and working for the good of the nation. Taking out
money from the Second National Bank was a clever way to get what he wanted, but he was simply
looking out for the common man. Because the bank only helped the wealthy, a small percentage of the
population, he was taking care of the general people and not letting the priority fall to a minority who

Frost In The Great Cold
Frost (Ice s mother) was considered to be one of the most skilled hunters in the Great Cold. She could
catch nigh anything, and was sought by many suitors she did not, however, find any of them
appealing, and instead chose to remain single through most of her young adulthood. Mold (Ice s
father) was just an average cat belonging to the Red Forest who just happened to enjoy hunting on the
fringes of the territory closest to the Great Cold. He had a fantastic sense of humor, and was generally
a likable cat, but ultimately nothing extraordinary. One day, Mold happened across Frost, who d been

grand tale of a foolish mouse mistaking a resting cat for a hiding place; cats of the Great Cold, are,

was ecstatic to find such an enraptured audience, and suggested a second meeting here, and Frost

The Decline Of Jazz Music
Over the past several decades, there has been a great decline in the popularity of jazz music. The
Decline of Jazz has fueled a debate as to whether or not the genre is dead. Many music scholars and
fans argue that jazz s popularity is declining because the people who appreciate the music are aging
and newer generations do not share their love of the music. For as long as I can remember, my parents
have played jazz music in our home, while cooking meals together, or entertaining guests, or reading
on a Sunday morning. My familiarity with the music from a young age is what caused me to start
singing songs from artists like Ella Fitzgerald and Nina Simone. Jazz served as the foundation for my
love and appreciation of music, both old and new, which is why I believe there is a place for jazz in
the future. Over the past century, jazz music has evolved immensely so much so that some people
mistake the genre s evolution for complete disappearance. But jazz is not dead. Instead, it has been
woven together with other genres, such as rock and pop, and embraced new sounds and techniques
that make it difficult for people to recognize as jazz.
The musicians who have expressed a deep love and passion for the music are the ones who have kept
jazz alive. When jazz was first being played, the fame or the money that accompanied the music s
rising popularity did not motivate musicians. They played purely out of love for the music and the
message it communicated to audiences. In the jazz

Reflection
Primary Introduction and Reflection
The purpose of this, my reflective essay, is to consider the journey I have taken to develop and create
both the research story task and the story task. In the first task I was tasked to do an in depth research
on a topic that was trending or perceived as popular with a wide and varied audience. Accordingly,
this would be a topic that could be seen to span a range of Social Media and established news sources.
Then, in the second task, I was required to create a well structured article based on the topic and
crafted to meet the well established journalistic standards of an established periodical, such as Time
magazine. I now regret not adding an image to both support and establish the storyline. If ... Show

Searching for information that related to my chosen topic proved to be problematic as many data
algorithms were pre set to my previous searches, which created a narrower search result than I had
hoped for.
Accordingly the objective and purpose of writing an article on a cashless society was to examine the
history behind it, how it would be structured and how it would affect those marginalised within
society at various levels. Consequently, I now realise that, to create credible newsworthy articles, I
will need to research a wider range of academic documents and streaming news reports. I will also
need to continue to refine my writing ability so as to fluently convey my message to a discerning, well
read and educated audience.
Evaluation and Analysis
My primary objective in investing a Cashless Society was to explore the impact it could have on those
marginalised within our culture. I had mistakenly used a limited set of trend analysis paradigms to
search and track what I was looking for. If I had used a wider range of browsers and search engines
may have provided a greater diversity of credible data. Relying on basic search algorithms does have
its merits, but can also create limited search results due to inherit limitations in the calculations used.
Using a Linear Search Algorithm meant that I was only able to create a short list of possible compiled
data collections.

Endothelial Cells Contribute Inflammation in Key Diseases
Endothelial cells are originated from embryonic mesoderm. It is a thin layer of cells found in the body
like in the blood vessels, heart and coverings of organs. It regulates permeability of blood flow all
around the body and maintain vascular homeostasis. If the body is not well taken care of due to
stressful lifestyle and not taking proper meals, endothelial cells can be inflamed and damaged leading
to key disease such as artherosclerosis, heart disease, diabetes, kidney disease and Alzheimer s
disease.
Atherosclerosis is a lipid storage disease where too much of lipid is deposited in endothelial of arteries
causing narrowing to prevent blood to flow. It is triggered by daily diet of consuming highly saturated
fat, hypertension and smoking. In healthy endothelial cells, leukocytes do not stick on to the
endothelial cells. During early phases of inflammation in endothelial cells, the leukocytes attach to the
arteries cell wall with the help of vascular cell adhesion 1 (VCAM 1) and penentrate into the
endothelial layer. VCAM 1 binds monocytes and T lymphocytes, the types of leukocytes found in
early atherosclerotic plaques. ( Libby P., 2006:456S) Atherosclerosis lesion is a foam cells whereby
macrophages engulf lipid particles. The lesion secretes cytokines and growth factors to promote
proliferation of smooth muscle. The increased of inflammatory markers like interleukin 6 (IL 6) and
interleukin 1 (IL 1) accumulated in the endothelial cells accerlate the progess of

Subcultures And Its Influence On Contemporary Society
Historically, subcultures found its definition originating in the early 1800s, with examples such as
bohemia and another example(ref). Whether subcultures still have an identifiable existence in today s
contemporary society is contentious pertaining to its difficulty in actual measurement. It is important
to look from a historical perspective at the features that define a subculture, and gives it the unique
identity that constitutes some discernible traits that differ from conventional society. This is to say that
the traits that make the subculture are not singular in their form, for they can be both abstract and
material. It is the intent of this essay to highlight such features and question if subcultures as a term,
should still be applicable in contemporary society. From Teddy Boys, mods and rockers, hells angels
to punks and even modern day terms for groups such as chavs, subcultures have throughout history
attempted to identify themselves from what is considered societies definition of normal (ref). This
form of indifference against the majority agreed upon social construction of society, is expressed in a
multitude of ways. The social constriction that minority groups feel in the respect of class
stratification, cultural, political, and religious beliefs result in sense of being ostracized (ref). Through
this constraint, the expression of subcultures emerges in the manifestation of unique socially
constructed ideas and beliefs. This typically goes hand in hand with

Sextus Empiricus
Being called a skeptic is sometimes understood and mistaken for being the wrong way of thinking.
This way of thinking is difficult to grasp especially for someone who does not know what scepticism
really means. In the article Sextus Empiricus, scepticism is defined as an ability, or mental attitude
which opposes appearances to judgements in any way whatsoever with the result of mental suspense
and state of quietude. In other words, scepticism is having doubts about an opinion that seems not to
be true. Being sceptic doesn t necessarily mean that you question everything but instead seek to find
enough reason to make an opinion true. This article begins to discuss how a Pyrrhonian, sceptic tries
to reach a state of tranquility and quietude. However quietude cannot be achieved if a suspension of
judgment exists. It is said that suspicion come from our differences of our senses. To illustrate, an
apple seems smooth, sweet and yellow. Nevertheless ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He believes that the mind can remain functional without the help of a body. The situation with this
belief is that as human beings our body helps our mind function and produce thoughts just the same as
our mind sending signals for our body to move. Everything that exists is because our minds have
created their existence. Descartes doubts the idea of our senses being able to find the truth of
existence. On the other hand, Sceptics believe that the true form of an object for instance can come
from perception. In the article, there is the example that states a theory that exists will already have an
opposed theory existing as well. (Empiricus, 38) Nevertheless, a thought believed to be true can also
be wrong. Furthermore, Sceptics believe that we can never real know anything. If knowing everything

The Eugenics Is Split Into Two Different Categories Essay
In 1833, Francis Galton coined the word eugenics, which means good in birth or noble in heredity in
Greek (Selgelid 2013:3). Galton stated that those who were more suitable would prevail over the ones
who were less suitable (Yudell 2011:4). The term eugenics is split into two different categories,
positive and negative. When you are classified in the positive eugenics it means that you have
desirable traits and they would want to use those traits to reproduce and increase the overall status of
human beings. However, if you were in negative classification of eugenics, that indicates that the traits
that you obtained as a human were not seen as suitable . Because those traits were not then as suitable,
you were denied the right to reproduce by the force of sterilization, it generally affected criminals and
those with mental disorders. This movement was prominent in North America. However, in Nazi
Germany, they applied this ideology to create a desired civilization and as a result millions of people
died (Yudell 2011:4). This horrific use of eugenics demonstrates how it was used to enforce prejudice
attitudes and discriminating behaviours. Genetic testing for prenatal screening is used for the parent s
knowledge if their child will have a genetic condition or impairment. If it turns out the fetus does, the
parents have the choice to abort the fetus or not. Some argue that this has the same premise as
eugenics and it discriminates against individuals

Mediterranean diet, the Atkins diet, the South Beach diet etc. Each day there are new discoveries
displayed throughout the media regarding diets and lifestyles, yet for a society so obsessed in the
healthiest trend our statistics tend to show the flying numbers at which the population is diagnosed
with chronic diseases related to nutritional factors. Thus a sound nutrition is more essential than ever.
In the United States at least 4 of the 10 leading causes of are directly linked to what we eat. Majority if
not all of the chronic diseases have a nutritional/lifestyle component that if caught in time can be
reversed. Therefore the focus of the meal plan project was to gain an understanding of one s own
personal nutritional intake by measuring calories consumed throughout the course of one week. In
doing so the individual is made aware of any nutritional deficiencies or food excesses by the choices
made when selecting food. The individual is able to fully grasp their individual needs by analyzing the
data collected over their consumption of essential nutrients such as carbohydrates, lipids, water and
proteins. In the midst of attending class, work and club schedules, as well as inadequate sleep I
hypothesize that my overall nutrition will look be a downward spiral with insufficient calories and
deficiencies in minerals.

Gender Equality And Empowerment Of Women
The United Nations Millennium Declaration states that the main focus should be on gender equality
and empowerment of women in order to fight poverty, hunger and with that, help development that is
sustainable. (O Brien Williams 2013,212) Taking gender into the account while observing global
economy shows that men and women are impacted in various ways considering trade, production and
financial flows. (O Brien Williams 2013,212) The term feminization of poverty originates from about
1970s debates in United States, which was focused on welfare and single mothers. (BRIDGE) This
concept came into the spotlight in the 1990s and the term continued to be questioned and researched.
Criticisms emphasized the difference in female headed households, and how there are other
dimensions of women s vulnerability that influenced the situation of poor women too, unlike for men.
( Carolina J. Wennerholm 2002,9) The concept of the feminization of poverty has meant three distinct
things: that women compared to men have a higher incidence of poverty; that women s poverty is
more severe than men s; and that the incidence of poverty among women is increasing compared to
that of men. in the recent year and the development debates are continued on how to approach this
matter. ( Carolina J. Wennerholm 2002,9) Thus far, it s important to recognize that the concept started
from the issues of female headed households, to the raising world wide awareness on great number of

It is no wonder, that when students read literature, some are confused about the
meaning of the story or poem, know little, if anything at all, about the author,
and have trouble memorizing important points. This is not only because of the

There is symbolism in the story s title, which testifies to Charlie s exile. The

Two Similarities And Differences Between Germany And China
Germany, a western country is well known for beer, sausage and innovative technology. China, an
eastern country is well known for delicious food, martial arts and low priced products. Everyone
knows they are completely different. However, can you raise some concrete examples showing their
difference? And is it true that both do not have a single similarity at all? Though, they have certain
similar aspects if you look closer. One obvious difference between Germany and China is the food
habit. German tends to have cool food for breakfast, which comprises bread, cheese and cold meat like
ham and salami, whereas the Chinese tend to have hot food at the beginning of the day, such as

The Importance of Immigration to the Canadian Economy in...
In the early decades of the 20th century, over one in five people living in Canada were immigrants. As
immigrants were introduced to the freshly structured land and economy of Canada it began to show
that immigration was essential to the financial structure of Canada. Some of the reasons that
immigration was important to the Canadian economy in the early 20th century is that it prevented
American expansion, Railway Business benefited from providing service to western Canada,
immigrants started new businesses in Canada and industrialization and urbanization.
Even though birth rates were higher than immigration rates in the early 20th century immigration was
still very important to the Canadian economy because since approximately 180,000 people immigrated
to Canada during the time periods of 1900 1910 and each of those immigrants received 160 acres of
land in western Canada it stopped the possibility of America expansion because western Canada was
beginning to become colonized which boosted the economy because Canada has one of the world s
largest supply of natural resources such as metals, lumber and oil and in order for those resources to
be not only discovered but to be put to use Canada needed workers but it had a very low birthrate
compared to the other country s therefore immigration was need to put Canada s resources to use and

Richard Fausset and Alan Blinder is to be considered a featured article. In contrast, the article titled
South Carolina House Votes to Remove Confederate Flag also written by Richard Fausset and Alan
Blinder is to be considered a news article.
There are a variety of ways why the first article is to be considered a feature article. The featured
article primarily consisted of the various reactions of many individuals who were not necessarily
involved with what took place (primary sources). the writers of the article interviewed David Woodard
(a political science professor at Clemson University), Catherine Hart (local), Michael French (a

The timeliness of the news article is demonstrated as it was made before the featured article (reported
the South Carolina house voting which came first before the Governor signing the bill). The headline,
lead, and the article itself have no emotions/tone when read (headlines, the overall article, and the lead
are to be neutral when read by the reader). The lead answers strictly the 5 Ws and how it doesn t
feature a list, a then now, and other methods of writing leads for features articles. The structure of the
news article utilizes an inverted pyramid. The more important information is featured at the beginning
of the article (the amount of essential information decreases). For example: the writers discuss the
ruling of the South Carolina House of Representatives within the first paragraph of the article ( The
final vote in the State House of Representatives, 94 to 20, was well above the two thirds majority
required to move the bill to the desk... in Charleston. ) and decreases as one goes through the article.
The last paragraph does not tie back tie back into the lead (another feature for news article). It means
the world to us, Mr. Rutherford said, that we can move a symbol of division off of our front yard. has
no affiliation to the lead as the lead did not state the impact/feedback of what took place.

Walla Wine History
TITLE
Walla Walla, Washington: Wonderful Wines In The West
LEAD PARAGRAPH
It was not long ago when Walla Walla was known for their sweet yellow onions and not much else.
Wine changed all of that. What started in the 1970s as a test to see if grapes liked the same soil as
onions, has now exploded into a fine wine mecca. When Gary Figgins planted the first wine grapes on
his homestead in 1974 nobody knew just how big this wine experiment would turn out.
This sleepy town at the foot of the round and rolling Blue Mountains is quickly becoming one of
North America s premier wine destinations. The effects can be seen even for the casual first time
visitor to Walla Walla. Home prices have risen rapidly, excellent new restaurants keep adding to an ...

Constantine the Ruler of the Roman Empire
Constantine the ruler of the Roman Empire had been surrounded by many controversies during his
reign (Cameron, 14). He was the son of a great warrior and he defeated Manutius a great ruler at Milia
Bridge. He had gained much respect and admiration among the Romans as a fair ruler. He emerged as
a ruler who supported Christianity and then became popular as a Christian ruler himself. His reign and
victory over the Roman Empire is a significant event in the history of Christian religion. With the
Edict of Milan in 313 Christianity was recognized as a religion, and the followers were free to practice
Christianity without fear. It has been argued that Constantine failed to treat different religions equally
as paganism (Cameron, 57). Constantine also sponsored churches, promoted Christians to high
government ranks, exempted taxes for the clergy. In the latter days of his rule Constantine had a
stricter approach towards Christianity and professed that there is one God, the Christian God. He
rewarded building temples into churches. He played a key role in framing important church policies
namely The Council of Arles, A.D. 314 and The Council of Nicaea, A.D. 325.
Constantine, however faced much challenges after he legalized Christianity. Christianity had been
divided into different churches and their views. Constantine is also responsible for the creation of a
universal church. Constantine presided over the First Ecumenical Council held at Nicaea to resolve the
Arian Controversy.

The Mexican American War Essay
The United States of America has been through many wars, wars concerning many things such as land
oil, pride and respect. However, when the United States went to war with Mexico, it was planned over
greed. The Mexican American war was a war provoked by the United States, in efforts to expand the

Manifest Destiny is a term for the American expansion that the united States not only could, but was
destined to, stretch from coast to coast. Protestants left England and came to America in the 17th
century, and to their understanding arriving to America safely was a sign that god had chosen them to
spread their knowledge, to be a city upon a hill . Which is a phrase from the bible means to be looked
upon and to set an example for the world to see. You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a
hill cannot be hidden Matthew 5:14. This religious example inspired protestants that it was not just
their job but there religious responsibility to expand and show others the right way. The phrase
contributed to manifest destiny was first employed by John L. O Sullivan in an article on the
annexation of Texas published in the July August 1845 it is our manifest destiny to overspread the
continent allotted by providence for the free development of our yearly multiplying millions .
According to John L. O Sullivan going to war with Mexico was god s plan, while others believe that

How Mourad Mazouz Started his Restaurant, Sketch
In 2001, just after signing the lease for 9 Conduit Street, London a Grade II listed building Mourad
Mazouz went to Paris. Not yet knowing what he would do inside he went on a mission to find a chef
to collaborate with. Mazouz was already a reputable and successful restaurateur with his celebrated

Architects (RIBA) from 1887 1909. In 1954 it became Christian Dior s first boutique where Dior

In Paris Mazouz set up a meeting with Pierre Gagnaire, My plan was to ask if he had someone in mind
in his kitchen for this venture, but he said, Why not me? I freaked out, I had not planned to work with
a master. But I said, That s great!
It reminded Gagnaire of Saint Étienne where his restaurant had gone bankrupt during the recession of
the early 1990s. Mazouz later elaborated His restaurant was doing molecular food before anyone else,
so for me the story of Sketch, and our friendship, started with his old restaurant. He s told me a few

Bible And The Book Of Exodus
Rabbinical Judaism sects of the modern era trace their roots back to Pharisees living in the Second
Temple Period of ___. However, the foundational stories of Judaism found in the sacred Torah are
even older. Many of the traditions, characters, and places mentioned in the first five books of the
Hebrew Bible are so ancient that their historical accuracy cannot be verified. Even though these events
would ve taken place millenniums ago, the stories of the Torah continue to have a significant impact
on Judaism today. This paper will focus specifically on the stories of Moses found in the book of
Exodus and how the methods used by modern Orthodox and Reform Jews to study the Torah
significantly affect how they reconcile their present faith with the tales of the past.
According to the book of Exodus, after Moses had lead the Israelites out of Egypt they began their
journey to a land promised to them by God. During this journey atop Mount Sinai, God revealed
himself to Moses and presented a covenant to the Israelites: if they followed God s laws, they would
be a chosen people, a nation set apart. According to Exodus, God then gave his laws directly to Moses

customer is loyal as well as profitable to the company and CGC s true friend customers have been
fading over the last several years and they are turning into butterflies or barnacles. CGC is a top golf
club developer but they are most well known for their driver the Big Bertha series. If a golfer wants
the best of each different type of club, they might only buy a CGC driver or a putter. If a customer
bought just a select few of clubs from CGC they would be considered a butterfly to the company. If
CGC would offer discounts on entire packages of clubs and maybe even add free apparel, this may
secure true friend relationships with customers like they had when the company was first established.
Another problem has occurred for CGC and that has to deal with the rapid development of new clubs
on the market. Producing new clubs at such a fast pace may leave customers feeling uncertain of their

Business Portfolio Analysis CGC still to this day remains a powerful and successful player in the golf

Essay on Vision of Heaven in the Poetry of Dickinson
Vision of Heaven in the Poetry of Dickinson
Emily Dickinson never became a member of the church although she lived in a typical New England
Puritan community all her life. The well known lines, Some keep the Sabbath going to church / I keep
it staying at Home (P 236 [B]; J 324),1 suggest her defiance against the existing church and
Christianity of her time in particular. And her manner of calling the Deity by such terms as Burglar,
Banker (P 39; J 49), and a jealous God (P 1752; J 1719) clearly discloses her antagonism against the
Christian God. In fact, she insistently rejected being baptized even when her family members and

And Dickinson herself knew the answer was to be found in the Bible, as she answered, For Prose Mr
Ruskin Sir Thomas Browne and the Revelations (L 261)2 when asked by Thomas W. Higginson what
her favorite books were. Of course, there were many other prose writings which she could have
mentioned, but she dared to select these three as the sources of her inspiration. Needless to say, the
three were exclusively special for her. Therefore, by referring to the picture of heaven in the Book of
Revelation, I will consider how Dickinson s poetry delineates one of the most important and
sometimes enigmatic Christian doctrines, the idea of heaven.
The following poem furnishes us with appropriate materials for discussion:
I went to Heaven
Twas a small Town
Lit with a Ruby
Lathed with Down
Stiller than the fields

Beautiful as Pictures
No Man drew
People like the Moth

The Testament Of The Bible
The Bible simply says in Isaiah 55:9, For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways
higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts. God does work His wonders in ways that
are beyond finding out! The congregation at Calvary has heard repeatedly about the classic book
called Pilgrims Progress. In this timeless book there is a man named Mr. Worldly Wise. It doesn t take
long for a Christian to realize that he shouldn t have listened to this man. Mr. Worldly Wise does not
have the mind of God. There would appear to be great wisdom coming from his mouth, but it s not
from God. Something that will have to be accepted by faith, no matter how good the intentions, if the
direction that a person is going is not governed by God s wisdom, that journey, that path, will end in
hopelessness. The Church, His blood bought Church, has the special revelation called the New
Testament. One would think, with all the technology, modern science and medicine, that the Church
would evolve to a place in society where the message of reaching the world would be different than it
was when the Church began. But lest we forget the declaration of Isaiah, His ways are not our ways.
The giant gulf that separates God and man is impassable. There is no way to get from here to there
apart from the wisdom of God. His wisdom is completely separate from worldly wisdom. As Paul
makes clear in 1 Corinthians 1:18 25, For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are

Objects, such as the scaffold, were ritualistic symbols for such concepts as sin and penitence. A person
might wonder why Hawthorne uses his characters as symbols, and van Kirk would answer them, using
his characters as symbols, Hawthorne describes the grim underside of Page 2 Puritanism that lurks
beneath the public piety (91). Chillingworth is symbolized as the devil. From the very beginning of

Critique And Analysis Of Black Skins, White Masks By...
Black Skins, White Masks Final Paper Black Skins, White Masks, is a powerful critique and analysis
of the damaging effects of colonial racism from a psychological and political perspective. Frantz
Fanon was born on a Caribbean island called Martinique, which was under the French rule. His
experience and account of colonization brings to light the dependency and inferiority felt by the black
colonial subjects. By seeing oneself through the eyes of the colonizer, Fanon describes the struggles of
the black person with their divided perceptions of the world and of one s self. Black Skin, White
Masks is a passionate study of colonial racism and urges the racially oppressed to take action against
the injustice of racism. Fanon, is trying to make his reader gain a clear insight into the effects of racial
oppression. Even though Black Skin s White Masks is a piece of academic writing, it is written with
personal nuances by shifting from the first, second and third person ( I , You . They ). He wants his
reader to relate and identify with the colonized and he wants to enable the man of colour to
understand...the psychological elements that can alienate his fellow Negro. Colonial history has been a
harsh interpreter of what it means to be human. Fanon expresses this anger by questioning his
blackness and questioning why the entire purpose of his existence is to emulate the white man. As a

In 1667, Newton returning to Cambridge and quickly completed all his requirements for a master s
degree. His greatest discoveries and innovations came about during his years at Cambridge.
Newton was the one to formulate the theory of universal gravity. It is claimed that, when he watched
an apple fall from a tree he wondered if the force that caused that the apple to fall was also the force
that kept the moon in its orbit. According to the text in Newton (1642), his theory that is described in
Newton s law is that gravitational force depends on the mass of each object. His doubt wasn t about
the fact that gravity existed, but whether it was what was keeping the moon in its orbit. He figured
that, if the force was to be decreased he would be able to calculate the Moon s orbital period. He
figured that this was the same force responsible for other motions in the orbit and with his hypothesis;
he decided to call this theory universal gravitation. With many trials and errors he could not get his
calculations to match his theories; he finally figured out his error, he had been using the wrong
formula to figure out the diameter of the Earth.
According to Harper (2006), Newton s distinction between absolute and relative motion is based on
his laws of motion, which he described as accepted by mathematicians and confirmed by experiments
of many kinds . His distinctions between absolute and relative

The Late Devonian Mass Extinction Period
Mass extinction is defined as the global decrease in diversification during a period of time reasons due
to any events that occurred in history of earth. Mass extinction occurs when a great number of species
goes into extinction globally.
The Late Devonian mass extinction is one the Big Five mass extinction in history of earth which
occurred 374.5Ma ago. This extinction event saw at least 70% of species perished; where main victim
of this extinction event were the major reef builders, stromotopoids, rugose and tabulate corals
(McGHee 2012). Causes of this mass extinction event during the late Devonian gathered a wide
variety of debate throughout the years whereby researchers researched substantial theories supported
by evidences. The few ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is because most of the species that extinct during this period were warm water marine species.
The sudden change in global temperature could lead to this mass extinction (Elewa 2008). Evidences
of glaciation in Gondwana which were found in Northern Brazil further strengthen and support this
argument (Elewa 2008). The earth was cooled by the effects from asteroid impacts, volcanic eruptions,
biological and chemical weathering was proposed as the cause of mass extinction (McGHee 2012).
Asteroid impact causing global cooling is termed as the impact winter theory, whereby the impact of
an asteroid injects mass amount of debris, ash and gasses into the atmosphere which blocks sunlight
from reaching the earth surface causing massive glaciation (McGHee 2012). Sweden, Siljan crater is
an evidence of aestroid impact evidence (McGHee 2012), however recent dating using conodonts
stated that the asteroid impact affecting the mass extincition is not viable as the F F boundary
conodonts was deposited below the iridium layer(Trinajstic pers. comm. 2014). The massive tectonic
movement as continental plates were merging to form super continent Gondwana, caused high
volcanic activity during that period (McGHee 2012). Volcanic activites which is termed as winter
volcanic hypothesis induces the same effect as the impact winter theory as mentioned above. An
example would be the Viluy Trap which erupted within the critical time frame in Late Devonian was
one of the key supporting evidence for this hypothesis (McGHee 2012). Biological and chemical
weatherings are two glaciation theories which occurred gradually over a longer period of time. It was
believed that it caused a reverse greenhouse effect which increased the concentration of oxygen and
caused a reduction of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Vast number of plants that bloomed during
the Devonian is one of the examples of biological

Points of Disagreement
Points of Disagreement
The Golden Rule is an ethical idea shared in various religious texts and different ancient philosophers
statements around the world, and it was paraphrased as What you do not wish done to yourself, do not
do to others . Kwame Anthony Appiah argues in the fifth Chapter (Moral Disagreement) of his book
Cosmopolitanism that the Golden Rule is not as helpful as it might at first seem , and he gives several
examples to support his argument. However, I don t think these examples are solid enough to
overthrow the Golden Rule. Because we can only discuss the pros and cons of the Golden Rule after
we share this idea. Besides, I have a different view toward the Golden Rule than Appiah. I prefer to
believe it is a passive, constricted admonition that keep society in basic order. The spirit transited by
the Golden Rule is especially needed in the society which is not based on a full fledged legal system,
and the Golden Rule is also served as a necessary ethic principle to guarantee the cross cultural
conversation.
Appiah argues that the Golden Rule is hard to be applied in practice because it is hard to understand
and share others values, and the Golden Rule is powerless facing the differences in values. The
example he uses is that a doctor wanted to save his patient s life through blood transfusion. The
problem is that his patient was a racist and the blood came from an African American. The doctor
should not do nothing, however the patient may refuse

Fuecal Occult Blood Test Paper
Why am I having this test? Stool for occult blood, or fecal occult blood test (FOBT), is a test that is
used to screen for gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding, which may be a sign of colon cancer. This test can
also detect small amounts of blood in your stool (feces) from other causes, such as ulcers or
hemorrhoids. This test is usually done as part of an annual routine exam after age 50. What is being
tested? This test checks for blood in your stool. What kind of sample is taken? A stool sample is
required for this test. Your health care provider may collect the sample with a swab of the rectum. Or,
you may be instructed to collect the sample in a container at home. If you are instructed to collect the

Schema Theory From The Realm Of Social Cognition
In answering the first question, I have proposed the concept of thematic perspectivization which rests
on the three constituent components of (a) perspectivizer, representing the author realized as the
topical Theme I ; (b) perspectivizee, denoting any other human participant again, topically thematic
that is being potentially perspectivized by the author; and (c) perspectivized, encoding any event,
action, or role perceived by the author or by the perspectivizee. All three components were argued to
correspond to certain types of schema whose relevant information has been linguistically cued within
the scope of the Rheme; and this is where the answer to the second question emerged in research. In
order to answer the second question, the present study has employed the schema theory from the realm
of social cognition, but of course without separating itself from the concept of thematic
perspectivization. Crucially, the three different types of schema, person, self , and role, were
theoretically and analytically presented to be compatible with the three components of thematic
perspectivization: perspectivizee, perspectivizer, and perspectivized, respectively. In the data analysis,
new information, appearing as part of Rheme structure, proved to linguistically mark or cue related
schemas; hence, the principle of meta schematic information can be said to be inseparable from
thematic perspectivization both in theory and in practice. Indeed, the information about the

4.0 FINANCIALS 4.1 Break even Analysis It is estimated that in its first year on the market, Shades
of Mercedes will produce sales revenue of $42,000,000. This sales revenue estimation is based on
sales within the United States combined with international sales. The average sales price is $120 with
a corresponding variable expense of $80 per pair. Thus the contribution margin per pair of sunglasses
is $40 ($120 $80). With estimated fixed expenses of $3,000,000; a net loss is accumulated of 1.6

Year two and year three quarterly forecasts were calculated using the same percentage. This may be
adjusted as more distinct patters emerge. The risks that are being taken are serious and may include
any, or multiple of the following: Taking an extensive time to reach the break even point. Current, the
break even time is estimated at the end of year two. However, if this takes longer, it may become a
financial burden for the Shades of Mercedes. Short term and long term estimates can be off the mark
and the Shades of Mercedes may not be as successful as forecasted (above). The store selections made
to carry the product are not successful, limiting the Shades of Mercedes success. Mercedes Benz
shareholders may not be satisfied with the brand extension, and the time it takes for the Shades of
Mercedes to break even and start to produce a profit. Worst case scenario is the Shades of Mercedes
fails to be successful, and Mercedes Benz has to cancel the brand extension. The essential components
of sales performance for the Shades of Mercedes include: Being consistent with use of the

The Uk Has a Multi Party System Rather Than a Two Party...
The UK has a multi party system rather than a two party system. Discuss.
A political two party system is one where two parties have complete dominance over voting, in terms
of seats and the general vote. The multi party system however describes a system where more than
two parties have the ability to win role as government. In this essay I will give a balanced argument on
whether Britain is a two party, or multi party system.
Throughout a significant period in history, 1945 79, a two party system was obviously predominant;
the Labour and Conservative parties being the only two with the possibility of achieving majority vote
and therefore forming a government. People voted for the party which represented their social class

This leaves the continuation of two ruling parties.
It could be argued, however, that the two party system which was once in place is declining, meaning
more parties have a realistic chance to achieve role as government. In the last thirty years the support
for the Conservative and Labour parties has been gradually decreasing, leaving them with only 67% of
the vote at the 2005 general election, which was the smallest percentage they d gained since 1918.
This is an example of partisan dealignment because the working class started to transfer their party
support to Conservative instead of Labour. The Liberal Democrats support was significantly
increasing, leaving them with 22% of the vote in the 2005 election as well as 62 seats. Their seat
numbers had been increasing since 1974 when they only had 14 seats in parliament, suggesting a
change in the dominance of only two parties. Today, the Liberal Democrats, who haven t been
considered a main party since, are currently the weaker part of a coalition government, with Labour in
opposition. This shows a clear end to the two party system, with three parties in significant places of
power.
Despite the two party voting system which has been practiced in different regions since 1997, a multi
party system still exists in

Information Security Threats The problem experienced by the Wayward Pines Public Library of having one of their public access computers (PAC) becoming a zombie member of a Botnet army is not an isolated one. As mentioned by Kim Zetter (2015), Botnets have been around for more than a decade and have become one of the most popular methods attackers use to hijack machines and make quick money. The security industry estimates that botnets, over time, have resulted in more than $110 billion in losses to victims globally. This essentially hides the entire internal IP address space behind the single external IP address. (F. Semperboni, 2013) Using this model will allow the library to need one external IP address provided by the ISP, allowing the return of the other 19 unused IP addresses. Therefore, the library will only be billed for the signal IP address, saving them money. Additionally, the firewall should use the statful examination of the traffic entering in thru the external interface on its way out of the internal interfaces. If the traffic meets particular states that the firewall has identified as being acceptable then, it allows the traffic to continue and drops those that do not. These types of firewalls are the first and primary line of defense for most organizations and provide better performance over other types of firewalls. (Tim Boyles, 2010, p. ... His leadership during the Battle of New Orleans gave him the respect of wealthy businessmen, and his worker roots gain the support of those who were struggling to carve their own a comfortable and suitable position. The duty of the President is to watch over the people by vetoing bills, making treaties, enforcing the nation s laws, and is the Commander in Chief of the armed forces. The Bank war started in 1832 when the congress, lead by Henry Clay, renewed the Second National Bank s charter even though it wasn t meant to expire till 1836. The Second Bank centralized financial might, jeopardizing economic stability, and it did not answer to anyone within the government. That partly concerned Jackson because he had no way to control it. Also because of his previous election experiences, he thought that a bank with that much power could not remain free from the electoral process. That was one of his reasons for wanting the bank gone, the other was that he saw the national bank system as corrupt and unjust because it only benefited the elites and was suspected to favor the wealthy. Jackson knew that if the bank was not shut down the gap between the rich and poor would keep growing, resulting in an unstable economy. By vetoing the bank s charter, withdrawing the federal government s deposits from the Bank of the United States, and placing it in state banks called pet banks he was helping then general people and working for the good of the nation. Taking out money from the Second National Bank was a clever way to get what he wanted, but he was simply looking out for the common man. • 7. The Decline Of Jazz Music Over the past several decades, there has been a great decline in the popularity of jazz music. The Decline of Jazz has fueled a debate as to whether or not the genre is dead. Many music scholars and fans argue that jazz s popularity is declining because the people who appreciate the music are aging and newer generations do not share their love of the music. For as long as I can remember, my parents have played jazz music in our home, while cooking meals together, or entertaining guests, or reading on a Sunday morning. My familiarity with the music from a young age is what caused me to start singing songs from artists like Ella Fitzgerald and Nina Simone. Jazz served as the foundation for my love and appreciation of music, both old and new, which is why I believe there is a place for jazz in the future. Over the past century, jazz music has evolved immensely so much so that some people mistake the genre s evolution for complete disappearance. But jazz is not dead. Instead, it has been woven together with other genres, such as rock and pop, and embraced new sounds and techniques that make it difficult for people to recognize as jazz. The musicians who have expressed a deep love and passion for the music are the ones who have kept jazz alive. When jazz was first being played, the fame or the money that accompanied the music s rising popularity did not motivate musicians. They played purely out of love for the music and the message it communicated to audiences. In the jazz ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Reflection Primary Introduction and Reflection The purpose of this, my reflective essay, is to consider the journey I have taken to develop and create both the research story task and the story task. In the first task I was tasked to do an in depth research on a topic that was trending or perceived as popular with a wide and varied audience. Accordingly, this would be a topic that could be seen to span a range of Social Media and established news sources. Then, in the second task, I was required to create a well structured article based on the topic and crafted to meet the well established journalistic standards of an established periodical, such as Time magazine. Searching for information that related to my chosen topic proved to be problematic as many data algorithms were pre set to my previous searches, which created a narrower search result than I had hoped for. Accordingly the objective and purpose of writing an article on a cashless society was to examine the history behind it, how it would be structured and how it would affect those marginalised within society at various levels. Consequently, I now realise that, to create credible newsworthy articles, I will need to research a wider range of academic documents and streaming news reports. I will also need to continue to refine my writing ability so as to fluently convey my message to a discerning, well read and educated audience. Evaluation and Analysis My primary objective in investing a Cashless Society was to explore the impact it could have on those marginalised within our culture. I had mistakenly used a limited set of trend analysis paradigms to search and track what I was looking for. If I had used a wider range of browsers and search engines may have provided a greater diversity of credible data. Relying on basic search algorithms does have its merits, but can also create limited search results due to inherit limitations in the calculations used. Using a Linear Search Algorithm meant that I was only able to create a short list of possible compiled data collections. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Endothelial Cells Contribute Inflammation in Key Diseases Endothelial cells are originated from embryonic mesoderm. It is a thin layer of cells found in the body like in the blood vessels, heart and coverings of organs. It regulates permeability of blood flow all around the body and maintain vascular homeostasis. If the body is not well taken care of due to stressful lifestyle and not taking proper meals, endothelial cells can be inflamed and damaged leading to key disease such as artherosclerosis, heart disease, diabetes, kidney disease and Alzheimer s disease. Atherosclerosis is a lipid storage disease where too much of lipid is deposited in endothelial of arteries causing narrowing to prevent blood to flow. It is triggered by daily diet of consuming highly saturated fat, hypertension and smoking. In healthy endothelial cells, leukocytes do not stick on to the endothelial cells. During early phases of inflammation in endothelial cells, the leukocytes attach to the arteries cell wall with the help of vascular cell adhesion 1 (VCAM 1) and penentrate into the endothelial layer. VCAM 1 binds monocytes and T lymphocytes, the types of leukocytes found in early atherosclerotic plaques. • 10. Subcultures And Its Influence On Contemporary Society Historically, subcultures found its definition originating in the early 1800s, with examples such as bohemia and another example(ref). Whether subcultures still have an identifiable existence in today s contemporary society is contentious pertaining to its difficulty in actual measurement. It is important to look from a historical perspective at the features that define a subculture, and gives it the unique identity that constitutes some discernible traits that differ from conventional society. This is to say that the traits that make the subculture are not singular in their form, for they can be both abstract and material. It is the intent of this essay to highlight such features and question if subcultures as a term, should still be applicable in contemporary society. From Teddy Boys, mods and rockers, hells angels to punks and even modern day terms for groups such as chavs, subcultures have throughout history attempted to identify themselves from what is considered societies definition of normal (ref). This form of indifference against the majority agreed upon social construction of society, is expressed in a multitude of ways. The social constriction that minority groups feel in the respect of class stratification, cultural, political, and religious beliefs result in sense of being ostracized (ref). Through this constraint, the expression of subcultures emerges in the manifestation of unique socially constructed ideas and beliefs. This typically goes hand in hand with ... This way of thinking is difficult to grasp especially for someone who does not know what scepticism really means. In the article Sextus Empiricus, scepticism is defined as an ability, or mental attitude which opposes appearances to judgements in any way whatsoever with the result of mental suspense and state of quietude. In other words, scepticism is having doubts about an opinion that seems not to be true. • 12. The Eugenics Is Split Into Two Different Categories Essay In 1833, Francis Galton coined the word eugenics, which means good in birth or noble in heredity in Greek (Selgelid 2013:3). Galton stated that those who were more suitable would prevail over the ones who were less suitable (Yudell 2011:4). The term eugenics is split into two different categories, positive and negative. When you are classified in the positive eugenics it means that you have desirable traits and they would want to use those traits to reproduce and increase the overall status of human beings. However, if you were in negative classification of eugenics, that indicates that the traits that you obtained as a human were not seen as suitable . Because those traits were not then as suitable, you were denied the right to reproduce by the force of sterilization, it generally affected criminals and those with mental disorders. This movement was prominent in North America. However, in Nazi Germany, they applied this ideology to create a desired civilization and as a result millions of people died (Yudell 2011:4). This horrific use of eugenics demonstrates how it was used to enforce prejudice attitudes and discriminating behaviours. Genetic testing for prenatal screening is used for the parent s knowledge if their child will have a genetic condition or impairment. If it turns out the fetus does, the parents have the choice to abort the fetus or not. Some argue that this has the same premise as eugenics and it discriminates against individuals ... As immigrants were introduced to the freshly structured land and economy of Canada it began to show that immigration was essential to the financial structure of Canada. Some of the reasons that immigration was important to the Canadian economy in the early 20th century is that it prevented American expansion, Railway Business benefited from providing service to western Canada, immigrants started new businesses in Canada and industrialization and urbanization. Even though birth rates were higher than immigration rates in the early 20th century immigration was still very important to the Canadian economy because since approximately 180,000 people immigrated to Canada during the time periods of 1900 1910 and each of those immigrants received 160 acres of land in western Canada it stopped the possibility of America expansion because western Canada was beginning to become colonized which boosted the economy because Canada has one of the world s largest supply of natural resources such as metals, lumber and oil and in order for those resources to be not only discovered but to be put to use Canada needed workers but it had a very low birthrate compared to the other country s therefore immigration was need to put Canada s resources to use and start internationals trade and to boost the economy and without immigration the birth rate would stay low also Economic activity in Canada is ... He was the son of a great warrior and he defeated Manutius a great ruler at Milia Bridge. He had gained much respect and admiration among the Romans as a fair ruler. He emerged as a ruler who supported Christianity and then became popular as a Christian ruler himself. His reign and victory over the Roman Empire is a significant event in the history of Christian religion. With the Edict of Milan in 313 Christianity was recognized as a religion, and the followers were free to practice Christianity without fear. It has been argued that Constantine failed to treat different religions equally as paganism (Cameron, 57). Constantine also sponsored churches, promoted Christians to high government ranks, exempted taxes for the clergy. In the latter days of his rule Constantine had a stricter approach towards Christianity and professed that there is one God, the Christian God. He rewarded building temples into churches. He played a key role in framing important church policies namely The Council of Arles, A.D. 314 and The Council of Nicaea, A.D. 325. Constantine, however faced much challenges after he legalized Christianity. Christianity had been divided into different churches and their views. In this timeless book there is a man named Mr. Worldly Wise. It doesn t take long for a Christian to realize that he shouldn t have listened to this man. Mr. Worldly Wise does not have the mind of God. There would appear to be great wisdom coming from his mouth, but it s not from God. Even though Black Skin s White Masks is a piece of academic writing, it is written with personal nuances by shifting from the first, second and third person ( I , You . They ). He wants his reader to relate and identify with the colonized and he wants to enable the man of colour to understand...the psychological elements that can alienate his fellow Negro. Colonial history has been a harsh interpreter of what it means to be human. Fanon expresses this anger by questioning his blackness and questioning why the entire purpose of his existence is to emulate the white man. As a good nigger he has even lost the privilege of descending to a real hell. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Essay on The Life of Sir Isaac Newton Over the centuries, math has evolved in an astounding way. Since the beginning of time, there have been many mathematicians that has influenced and contributed to the math we know today. None compares to the work of Sir Isaac Newton. He was influential as a person, as well as in his work. Sir Isaac Newton was born on December 25, 1642 in Wools Thorpe, Lincolnshire. Shortly after his father s death, Newton was born premature and was not expected to survive. After his father s death, his mother got remarried to an ignorant man. His stepfather didn t seem to like him, so he was then sent away to live with his grandmother. At the age of eleven, his stepfather died. After the death, he decided to move back home with his mother. At the age of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In 1667, Newton returning to Cambridge and quickly completed all his requirements for a master s degree. His greatest discoveries and innovations came about during his years at Cambridge. Newton was the one to formulate the theory of universal gravity. It is claimed that, when he watched an apple fall from a tree he wondered if the force that caused that the apple to fall was also the force that kept the moon in its orbit. According to the text in Newton (1642), his theory that is described in Newton s law is that gravitational force depends on the mass of each object. His doubt wasn t about the fact that gravity existed, but whether it was what was keeping the moon in its orbit. He figured that, if the force was to be decreased he would be able to calculate the Moon s orbital period. He figured that this was the same force responsible for other motions in the orbit and with his hypothesis; he decided to call this theory universal gravitation. With many trials and errors he could not get his calculations to match his theories; he finally figured out his error, he had been using the wrong formula to figure out the diameter of the Earth. According to Harper (2006), Newton s distinction between absolute and relative motion is based on his laws of motion, which he described as accepted by mathematicians and confirmed by experiments of many kinds . His distinctions between absolute and relative ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. The Late Devonian Mass Extinction Period Mass extinction is defined as the global decrease in diversification during a period of time reasons due to any events that occurred in history of earth. Mass extinction occurs when a great number of species goes into extinction globally. The Late Devonian mass extinction is one the Big Five mass extinction in history of earth which occurred 374.5Ma ago. This extinction event saw at least 70% of species perished; where main victim of this extinction event were the major reef builders, stromotopoids, rugose and tabulate corals (McGHee 2012). Causes of this mass extinction event during the late Devonian gathered a wide variety of debate throughout the years whereby researchers researched substantial theories supported by evidences. The few ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is because most of the species that extinct during this period were warm water marine species. The sudden change in global temperature could lead to this mass extinction (Elewa 2008). Evidences of glaciation in Gondwana which were found in Northern Brazil further strengthen and support this argument (Elewa 2008). The earth was cooled by the effects from asteroid impacts, volcanic eruptions, biological and chemical weathering was proposed as the cause of mass extinction (McGHee 2012). Asteroid impact causing global cooling is termed as the impact winter theory, whereby the impact of an asteroid injects mass amount of debris, ash and gasses into the atmosphere which blocks sunlight from reaching the earth surface causing massive glaciation (McGHee 2012). Sweden, Siljan crater is an evidence of aestroid impact evidence (McGHee 2012), however recent dating using conodonts stated that the asteroid impact affecting the mass extincition is not viable as the F F boundary conodonts was deposited below the iridium layer(Trinajstic pers. comm. 2014). The massive tectonic movement as continental plates were merging to form super continent Gondwana, caused high volcanic activity during that period (McGHee 2012). Volcanic activites which is termed as winter volcanic hypothesis induces the same effect as the impact winter theory as mentioned above. An example would be the Viluy Trap which erupted within the critical time frame in Late Devonian was one of the key supporting evidence for this hypothesis (McGHee 2012). Biological and chemical weatherings are two glaciation theories which occurred gradually over a longer period of time. It was believed that it caused a reverse greenhouse effect which increased the concentration of oxygen and caused a reduction of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Vast number of plants that bloomed during the Devonian is one of the examples of biological ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Points of Disagreement Points of Disagreement The Golden Rule is an ethical idea shared in various religious texts and different ancient philosophers statements around the world, and it was paraphrased as What you do not wish done to yourself, do not do to others . Kwame Anthony Appiah argues in the fifth Chapter (Moral Disagreement) of his book Cosmopolitanism that the Golden Rule is not as helpful as it might at first seem , and he gives several examples to support his argument. However, I don t think these examples are solid enough to overthrow the Golden Rule. Because we can only discuss the pros and cons of the Golden Rule after we share this idea. Besides, I have a different view toward the Golden Rule than Appiah. I prefer to believe it is a passive, constricted admonition that keep society in basic order. The spirit transited by the Golden Rule is especially needed in the society which is not based on a full fledged legal system, and the Golden Rule is also served as a necessary ethic principle to guarantee the cross cultural conversation. Appiah argues that the Golden Rule is hard to be applied in practice because it is hard to understand and share others values, and the Golden Rule is powerless facing the differences in values. The example he uses is that a doctor wanted to save his patient s life through blood transfusion. The problem is that his patient was a racist and the blood came from an African American. The doctor should not do nothing, however the patient may refuse ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 47. Schema Theory From The Realm Of Social Cognition In answering the first question, I have proposed the concept of thematic perspectivization which rests on the three constituent components of (a) perspectivizer, representing the author realized as the topical Theme I ; (b) perspectivizee, denoting any other human participant again, topically thematic that is being potentially perspectivized by the author; and (c) perspectivized, encoding any event, action, or role perceived by the author or by the perspectivizee. All three components were argued to correspond to certain types of schema whose relevant information has been linguistically cued within the scope of the Rheme; and this is where the answer to the second question emerged in research. In order to answer the second question, the present study has employed the schema theory from the realm of social cognition, but of course without separating itself from the concept of thematic perspectivization. Crucially, the three different types of schema, person, self , and role, were theoretically and analytically presented to be compatible with the three components of thematic perspectivization: perspectivizee, perspectivizer, and perspectivized, respectively. In the data analysis, new information, appearing as part of Rheme structure, proved to linguistically mark or cue related schemas; hence, the principle of meta schematic information can be said to be inseparable from thematic perspectivization both in theory and in practice. Indeed, the information about the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 49. The Uk Has a Multi Party System Rather Than a Two Party... The UK has a multi party system rather than a two party system. Discuss. A political two party system is one where two parties have complete dominance over voting, in terms of seats and the general vote. The multi party system however describes a system where more than two parties have the ability to win role as government. In this essay I will give a balanced argument on whether Britain is a two party, or multi party system. Throughout a significant period in history, 1945 79, a two party system was obviously predominant; the Labour and Conservative parties being the only two with the possibility of achieving majority vote and therefore forming a government. People voted for the party which represented their social class e.g. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This leaves the continuation of two ruling parties. It could be argued, however, that the two party system which was once in place is declining, meaning more parties have a realistic chance to achieve role as government. In the last thirty years the support for the Conservative and Labour parties has been gradually decreasing, leaving them with only 67% of the vote at the 2005 general election, which was the smallest percentage they d gained since 1918. This is an example of partisan dealignment because the working class started to transfer their party support to Conservative instead of Labour. The Liberal Democrats support was significantly increasing, leaving them with 22% of the vote in the 2005 election as well as 62 seats. Their seat numbers had been increasing since 1974 when they only had 14 seats in parliament, suggesting a change in the dominance of only two parties. Today, the Liberal Democrats, who haven t been considered a main party since, are currently the weaker part of a coalition government, with Labour in opposition. This shows a clear end to the two party system, with three parties in significant places of power. Despite the two party voting system which has been practiced in different regions since 1997, a multi party system still exists in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
