Explain Why Nobody Is Wrong
Nobody Is Wrong and If We Are, it s Not Our Fault
Studies show that a child s manners are most likely to be learned at a very young age.
Along with manners come a child s level of laziness and intensity, because of this children are able to
persevere through hard times and find ways to step it up when they mature. As a child my parents
raised me to the best of their ability and I would say 100% they did a great job and I m sure others
would agree. I was taught to be hard working versatile person who would go to the extreme for a
family member, God, or a job, and because of this I had grown up doing all of these to make my life
as good as I could get it. Everyone knows that when a person gets older they are given responsibilities

Now that I have grown up I have realized that it s not America its Texas that has that mentality,(which
is why I plan on staying). I can now see that nobody likes to be wrong that whatever they are doing it
is either not their fault or it can be right if we fight for it enough. It seems like nobody is fat anymore
that they, have a thyroid problem, nobody is short they are just, vertically challenged. Not only that
but now people who are alcoholics are only alcoholics because their father was a drunk and now they
re a victim to his drinking. Gay people can t help being attracted to the same sex they were born that
way and because they re born that way why should we discriminate. If a person says that
homosexuality is wrong they will probably be told, why do you have to hate or why do you have to
judge. Growing up in modern American society is the hardest challenge I have faced and will
definitely get harder, but if you stay rooted in your faith and actually be 100% about your faith you
should have no problem living in an American culture where you must be accepting of everyone.
These are the things that have allowed me to survive thus far. If you keep a civil tongue and voice
your opinion in a respectful manner you can win people s hearts in a way no one can comprehend. The
easiest way to survive in this country is to be loving and accepting, but

My First Year Of College
Senior year in high school, I thought I had everything figured out. At the time, I was in a program
called PSEO where I was able to go to college while I was in high school. Being a first generation
college student I didn t know how serious this first year of college would affect the rest of my college
career. I should have taken that first year seriously. I thought that I would graduate high school and
attend a 4 year university and graduate to go to optometry school. As a planning type, I had everything
in place. Until my cousin s grandma passed away, I grew up with them living a walking block away. I
was shocked and reflected on my life that I have planned out for myself. After graduating high school
packed up my things and headed out west to San Jose, California to move in with my grandparents. I
wanted to spend as much time with them while I attended a local community college called DeAnza. I
was surrounded by people who could care less about anyone else but themselves. I didn t fit, but I
stayed to be with my grandparents for the rest of the quarter. As the quarter went by so did my bank
account, I had no option but to go home to Minnesota. Once I got back to Minnesota I got a job of
being an optometric technician working side by side with the doctor. After 6 months of working there
I could not see myself as an optometrist. I attended Normandale Community College temporarily until
I knew what my next steps would be but I ended up leaving Normandale with an Associate

Disability In Freaks
The film Freaks was released in the early 20th century by Tod Browning and it definitely caught the
eyes of everyone because of its risky and unusual cast. The lecture notes state that the movie was
pulled by MGM and was not shown in mainstream theaters until 1960 because of the negative
reactions of the viewers. This film had representations of a mixture of class and disability that was not
fit to be shown at the time of the early 20th century. Freaks illustrates disability mainly and at first
displays deficiencies as being monstrous by showing the people screaming once seeing one of the
disabled humans at the very beginning. However, by the first ten minutes in the movie it is obvious
that the freaks are just like normal people but with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Janet Zandry who is the author of Decloaking Class: Why Class Identity and Consciousness Count ,
defines class as an experience of shared economic circumstances and shared social and cultural
practices in relation to positions of power (Zandry 103). The film the Freaks illustrates class by
showing Cleo and the other people without disabilities as part of a group who share the same social
practices like how they think they are better than the freaks and how they think it is okay to steal from
and hurt them. The normal group all believed the same; they thought of themselves as higher class and
that they were in charge. The scene that really stood out and showed the class differences was when
Cleo and Hercules had a dinner with the freaks . The freaks tried to invite Cleo into their group by
passing around a drink that all the disabled drank out of while chanting one of us, one of us. Once the
cup got to Cleo, she freaked out and threw the drink in one of their face. She was showing that she is
not part of their class group and it made her upset that they even would consider her part of them. This
scene is a good indicator of how the people in America during the 20th century thought as themselves
as better than the disabled people and did not want to think of themselves as equal to

The Increasing Significance of Multinational Company
The increasing significance of MNCs in 1950s transformed them to the dominant phenomenon in the
international economic relations since then. It has triggered a strong interest among the scholars,
media, and society. The surrounding controversy around MNCs has triggered the need and necessity
for the analysis due to the fact, that it is described by some scholars and economists as the principal
instrument for maximizing world welfare, and by others as the imperialistic agents (United Nations
Publication 1973, p.1). Non state actors are the international organizations that possess the diplomatic
power and corporate with the states in the global scene (Kegley and Wittkopf 2004). The question is
whether MNCs are such important non state actors and in which ways they exert power over the
states. First of all, one needs to comprehend the definition of a MNC. A MNC is a business
organization whose activities are located in more than two countries. This means that MNC consists of
a country where the business is incorporated, and of the branches, or subsidiaries in foreign countries.
MNCs can obviously vary in the extent of their multinational activities as regards to the number of
countries in which they operate. A large MNC can operate in hundreds of countries. The economic
reality demonstrates the ability of the company located in one country to control the operations in
foreign countries (Chandler and Mazlish 2005). According to Department of Economic and Social
Affairs of

Personal Note On Self Awareness
Self awareness is always a helpful trait to have in any facet of life. Dr. Kahlib Fischer said that the
task of completing the self awareness test is a means of helping you come to terms with ways that God
has gifted and equipped you to serve His purposes in whatever organization He has you in (2006).
Being aware of your own weaknesses and strengths can help you strive to be a better version of your
current self. How, you may ask? For me, I know that time management and attention to detail are
weaknesses. Because I know that, I am aware that I need to pay extra attention to the things that
require these two traits. It has helped me prioritize activities to ensure I get them done correctly and in
a timely manner. I used the Prentice Hall Self Assessment Online Library to learn more about myself
(2016). I hope to be able to use the knowledge I have gained in my personal and professional life.
Below is a summary of what I learned from each part of the assessment. Good introductory
paragraph helps follow the discussion
What about Me? For most of the assessments in the first section, I was not surprised by my results. I
am fairly self aware of my attitudes about most issues. The one that surprised me the most was the
section on ambiguity. Robbins and Judge say that the greater the ambiguity, the greater the potential
for conflict to emerge (2009, p. 488). I like to think of myself as someone that rolls with the punches
easily. However, according to the assessment, I don t

Magistrate s court All criminal cases start in a magistrates court. Cases are heard by either having 2 or
3 magistrates or a district judge. There isn t a jury in a magistrates court. Cases that the magistrate s

disorderly in a public area. They also deal with burglary offences and drug offences. Courts always
pass cases that are more serious like rape, murder, and robbery which are known as indictable offences
. The courts can keep people in custody or grant bail. In some cases, magistrates can keep people in

History Of Union And Human Resources
Introduction
The purpose of the union is ensuring the labor can get their rights, such as minimum wages, working
environment, and pensions and so on. The union supports labor that when a company gets profit, labor
can get their reasonable benefit back. The trend of an organization is management in the twenty first
century. A company thinks an employee is part of assets in the organization. Therefore, the Human
Resource Management is more valuable than the union to manage the employee.
History of Union and Human Resources
The history is a track shows the development of unions and Human Resources. In the past, the original
labor unions happened in the nineteenth century which was the Industry Revolution in Europe. In that
time, the employer wanted to get more profit and productivity, and most of the unfair issues were pay
lower wages, work overtime, hire child labor, ignore safety environment and discriminate women. For
those reason, labor joined the union to have their voice and protected their rights.
The social problem has been changing smoothly; labors were more education and the governments
attached importance to the laws. Since 1935, the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) was published
in the United States. The purpose for the NLRA is to protect the rights of employees and make
employers encourage collective bargaining. The labor union in Canada was influenced by the United
Kingdom and the United States. The immigration workers, law, and legislation was taken from

technological advancement of the clutch has had very little impact on clutch facing technology. Earlier
asbestos was used as friction material in single plate dry friction clutch. Asbestos is hazardous to
human health and detrimental to environment. So recently kevlar49/Epoxy material is used as friction
material. But it has its own disadvantages. So it is time to consider use of any other environment

Clutch Facing Clutch facing is the heart of clutch assembly which actually transmits power from
engine to transmission or drive shaft. It is a friction surface which binds face plate of fly wheel and
pressure plate of clutch assembly. A major benefit to using a lining or facing is that it prevents metal to
metal contact within the clutch set, resulting in less wear and tear on the clutch components. Clutch
facings tend to have mid level coefficients of friction, and are responsible for removing most of the
clutch vibrations from the engine. They also aid in allowing engines to achieve high speeds without
damaging the components. Fig.1 Clutch Facing 3. Desirable Characteristics of Dry Clutch Facings
Clutch friction linings are subjected to severe rubbing so that generation of heat in relatively short
periods takes place. Therefore, the lining material should have a combination of the following

speech was more powerful and more to the point and it was a very short speech that was given in a

The Effects Of Divorce On Children s Development
Family is an important structure within society. The word family may be defined in various ways: you
may define it as a group of close friends who you genuinely care for and trust, or as a group of people
who are related by the blood which runs through their veins. In this country, we see all types of
families. The traditional nuclear family consists of a father, mother, and children. However, currently
this is not always the case. Divorce rates have risen over the years, breaking the nuclear family;
unfortunately, this event can affect children s development. Gary Peterson and Kevin Bush mention
the conclusion of children benefiting from two parent families rather than single parent families (499).
This can be proven when we notice ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They tend to internalize and sometimes externalize their feelings. Some common immediate reactions
are: fear, anger, sadness, fear of abandonment, denial, and imaging reconciliation between parents
(Mcwhorter 12). An example of this can be found on the first page of the article Preparation and a Gift
Help the Transition, when it states Children often misinterpret and blame themselves for stressful
situations. Divorce can be a very stressful meanwhile young children tend to blame themselves for the
whole situation; most of them believe that it s their fault that their parents were fighting. Of course,
this is not true in many divorce cases, yet it is commonly seen because they try to find someone to
blame. This can be a way of coping with the idea of their parents divorce. We can study the short
terms effects divorce has better when we observe younger children. This term, younger children, can
be broken down into two different categories: preschool age, toddlers, and school age.Common short
term effect we see in preschool children, are: the tendency to have behavioral and withdrawal
problems. For school age children are frequently seen as having academic problems and experience
feelings of fear, worries, sadness, and lost (Clarke Stewart Brentano 130). There are more differences
between the children s reactions. Preschool children are usually very young and sometimes can t

Pure Evil In Gibran s On Good And Evil
In the world today, there have been many tragic occurrences that can be considered as pure evil. One
example is the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting. On Wednesday February 14th, 2018 Nikolas
Cruz was charged with seventeen counts of premeditated murder. Cruz, a former student of Stoneman
Douglas, shot and killed seventeen and wounded countless others without any provocation or reason.
Even with hindsight, one cannot come up with any conceivable reason or rationale for his action. Most
of these students have probably never met him in person, let alone caused him any harm or slight. As a
result, William Golding would state that Nikolas Cruz is an innately evil person. He killed simply for
the sake of killing. Conversely, Gibran, who is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the poem, On Good and Evil, Gibran argues that goodness lives within each person. Throughout the
poem, Gibran presents several different examples, such as You are good in countless ways, (Gibran
26) and You are good when you strive to give of yourself. (Gibran 10). In both of these examples, he
was taking the readers to a personal level, to draw his point across that goodness resides within
everyone. He seemed to argue that evil was a byproduct of circumstances; it was always created by
other factors; it was never always there as opposed to good. In one of the first lines of the poems
Gibran says, For what is evil but good tortured by its own hunger and thirst? Verily when good is
hungry it seeks food even in dark caves, and when it thirsts it drinks even of dead waters. (Gibran 3 4).
He manipulates personification, when good is hungry it seeks food even in dark caves to represent the
idea that evil was formed when good changed by external forces or by necessity. For these reasons, he
also made it clear that we, the readers, have to work to maintain our inherent goodness. In other
words, good will eventually turn into evil if we don t pay attention to our environment or to allow
injustice to flourish around us. For instance, in the last line of the poem, Gibran ends the poem with
For the truly good ask not the naked, Where is your garment? nor the houseless, What has befallen
your house? (Gibran 37 38 ). By ending his poem with an analogy, Gibran is trying to leave a strong
impression on us by questioning if we the readers are good people. He bluntly states, for truly good
people ask not, Where is your garment? essentially saying that good people don t ask questions, but
rather act on

The Rampage of Polio
During the twentieth century Americans were afraid. They were afraid of the Russians, they were
afraid of the economy, they were afraid of Hitler, and they were afraid of polio. A disease as
indiscriminate as a nuclear bomb, it struck young and old, rich and poor, white and black. It caused
fear and hysteria, confusion and anger, paralysis, and even death. By this time the United States had
endured smallpox, cholera, yellow fever, and tuberculosis; but it had never experienced a wide spread
epidemic of a disease that seemed to specifically target children before the twentieth century.
Although polio effects people of all ages, children are the most susceptible due to their weak immune
systems. Many victims of polio were partially or completely paralyzed, and thousands died. The
summer plague would run rampant in the United States for nearly four decades. Before the 1890 s
polio was fairly common but largely unknown. The disease was very common in early history due to a
lack of sanitation but because many people contracted the disease they developed immunity to that
strain at an early age. If the infected persons lived through the early infection they were then immune
to that particular strain of polio. This meant that in excess of 90% of some populations were immune,
while less than 0.5% were paralyzed due to polio. Evidence has been found of polio in the ancient
world. Some scientists believe hieroglyph depictions of people

Notice To Defendant Summary
Johnson further contends that the circuit court abused its discretion by failing to exclude the Notice to
Defendant and the OPD Form because the documents probative value was substantially outweighed
by the danger of unfair prejudice. Specifically, Johnson asserts that the documents should have been

Five Canons Of Rhetoric Essay
Midterm Take Home Examination
PART ONE:
Five Canons of Rhetoric
Rhetoric is the art of effective persuasion through writing and speech. The five canons of rhetoric
include Discovery , Organization , Style , Memorization , and Delivery .
Discovery The first canon referred to as Discovery has two equivalents. First of which is inventio (in
Latin) referring to the invention of an effective mode of persuasion and secondly, heuresis (in Greek)
meaning discovery. The discovery canon is the phase in which the user of rhetoric creates or discovers
a persuasive argument considering his/her audience and the problem set before them3. An example
would recognizing that a sentimental audience would be susceptible to persuasion through phrases
such as if you have a heart then...

Sigmund Freud illustrates the feeling of the uncanny in his essay The Uncanny as a species of the
frightening that goes back to what was once well known and had long been familiar 8. In other words,
the uncanny arises when something feels unhomely or strange but was familiar and comfortable
before. This is depicted by the English translation of the word into foreign and other like terms. When
something feels unheimlich it conveys feelings of the uncanny due to alienation rather than pure
fright.

The Return Of Martin Guerre Sparknotes
The story of Martin Guerre differs considerably between the film and the book. Natalie Zemon Davis
s book: The Return of Martin Guerre, was written after the film, which she also contributed to as an
historical advisor. However, what ultimately prompted Davis to write her book was the need to make
sense out of a film that was shifting away from historical evidence. Davis s main objective was to
examine what motivated people during the sixteenth century and whether they valued truth in addition
to the film s assumption, which placed importance on money and property.
One of the most significant sources Davis used in her work was written by Jean de Coras. In his book,
Arrest Memorable, Coras assembled all of his evidence and formal arguments ... Show more content

In his records, Jean de Coras described Bertrande as an easily duped woman which he attributes to her
gender. Davis notes that Coras had the capability and thoughtfulness to recognize female intelligence
by looking beyond patriarchal prejudices to uncover the truth. His assumption was that she was
innocent. Similarly, the film also portrayed Bertrande as a victim who was fooled into believing the
impostor was her husband for several years. Conversely, Davis believed that Bertrande s conduct
revealed her ingenuity and calculations that were common tactics demonstrated by peasant women
who were forced to live in a patriarchal society. As a result, Davis believed she was Arnaud s
accomplice who was aware of his fraud, but was desperate for a husband even if it meant lying to her
family. Despite her opposing view, Davis noted that since Arrest Memorable remains the best source
for the story of Martin Guerre, she had to reinterpret it in order to formulate her own assumption on

Laser Resurfacing May Be The Solution For Your Acne Scars
If you finally have your acne problem under control, but are left with a few scars on your face, you
may want to consider letting a dermatologist remove them. One way to do that is with a laser
resurfacing treatment. The laser is directed at your scars, so the rest of your skin is untouched. The
treatment is fairly quick, but it does take a while for your skin to heal. Here is a quick look at this
cosmetic procedure.
Laser Resurfacing Erases Imperfections
Laser resurfacing can be done to treat different kinds of scars. It works on bumpy scars that form from
the production of collagen, and it also works on pit and crater scars. You can have a single scar treated,
or you can have your entire face treated at the same time if scaring is extensive. While lasers can also
treat active acne breakouts, a different type of laser is used for that purpose. When you have laser
resurfacing, your skin must be free of acne at the time. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Your skin will be numbed first, and you may also be sedated if a large area of your face will be
treated. The dermatologist uses the laser to peel away the scar a layer at a time until it is gone. If you
have a crater scar, the doctor will burn off the skin around the edges of the crater a tiny sliver at a time
until the surface of your skin is smooth.
Since your skin is numb, you won t feel much discomfort during the treatment. The length of the
procedure depends on how may scars you need removed and how deep they are. When the doctor
finishes your laser treatment, the area treated is wrapped in a bandage to protect the

The Controversy Between Mercantilism And Free Trade
The controversy that currently swirls around the phenomenon of globalization is to a large extent a
variation on a much older debate between mercantilist supporters of protectionism and liberal
proponents of free trade. In its classic sixteenth century conception, mercantilism was a policy aimed
at increasing the national wealth via the accumulation of precious metals like gold and silver.
Modern mercantilism, or neomercantilism, is focused instead on accumulation of national wealth via a
trade surplus, which is the result of exporting more than one imports. When a country has a trade
surplus, it both accumulates monetary reserves and promotes the development of domestic industries.
This mercantilist concern with national wealth accumulation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Consider the following hypothetical example.
A farmer in Minnesota decides to switch from producing soybeans to growing bananas. His reasoning
is that unlike soybean fields, which are very common in the United States, his banana plantation will
be the only one in the continental
United States. The cold climate in Minnesota will make growing bananas difficult, but he plans to
construct acres of enormous greenhouses in which the temperature, humidity, and soil will be perfect
for growing bananas. Of course, these
Minnesota hothouse bananas will be very expensive, and although a few consumers might be
persuaded to pay the premium price for Minnesota bananas because of their high quality or to support
a local producer, the vast majority of shoppers are likely to continue to buy much cheaper bananas
imported from Central
America. However, the farmer has persuaded his local congressional representative to introduce
legislation imposing high tariffs on imported bananas. If that legislation passes, the cost of the tariff
will be passed onto the consumer, making Central American bananas more expensive and Minnesota
bananas more

Essay on The Punishments of the Medieval era
The Punishments of the Medieval Era When Shakespeare was born in 1564, Queen Elizabeth had
taken power a mere 6 years prior, and her justice system was very different from ours. In this paper, I
hope to explore some of the ways punishments were different, such as how many crimes had
individual punishments, often times depending on how severe the crime was. I will also go in depth to
one of the most infamous cases of the medieval period. Imprisonment was very rare. If you were in
jail, you were there because you were on trial, and you weren t allowed to return home. Trials were
very brief and if you were charged of a felony or treason, you weren t allowed to have a lawyer.
Unsurprisingly, trials were quick, with extremely ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The chair would be continuously lowered and raised into a river, as I previously mentioned. The
Cucking stool often drew in large crowds people who would laugh at the person. People who would
be stubborn and not speak at their hearings would be forced to lie on their backs on top of a large
pointy stone, while stones would be continuously put on wooden boards on their chests until the
weight eventually crushed them. Thieves were slightly odd in the medieval times as far as they re
punishments went. Thieves could get their first sentences reduced if they had learned of the benefits of
becoming a member of the clergy. These benefits were lost if these people were repeat offenders. The
theft of farm animals, which was considered a smaller crime, they would have their left hand burned
as a permanent mark of shame. This also would occur if they had broken into another man s home, but
this man didn t feel as if his life was in danger from the break in. Repeat offenders were sentenced to
death. In addition to all of these, people who took their own lives were to buried with a stake shoved
through their graves. At the end of my look into how justice was served back in Shakespeare s time, I
ll give a brief examination of what many people think of when they hear something about Medieval
times, Torture. When John Gerad, a priest/spy, was captured by Queen Elizabeth s guard, he was spent
3 years in captivity, until finally he was taken

Intel Case Study Essays
Case Study Intel s rebates and Other Ways It Helped Customers
In your judgment is Intel a monopoly ? Did Intel use monopoly like power, in other words, did Intel
achieve its objectives by relying on power that it had due to its control of a large portion of the
market? Explain your answers.
In my judgment Intel did react like a monopoly. Pure monopoly exists when a single firm is the sole
producer of a product for which there are no close substitutes. The characteristics of a monopoly are a
single seller, unique product no substitutions, the firm is the price maker and entry and exits are
blocked. In this case study there were several evidence that Intel attempted to create a monopoly. First,
Intel developed and patented a new ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In your view, did Intel violate either of the two key sections of the Sherman Antitrust Act?
The Sherman Antitrust Act is a competition law passed by Congress in 1890. It prohibits certain
business activities that reduce competition in the marketplace, and requires the United States federal
government to investigate and pursue trusts, companies, and organizations suspected of being in
violation. It was the first Federal statute to limit cartels and monopolies, and today still forms the basis
for most antitrust litigation by the United States federal government. Section 1 states contract,
combination or conspiracy, in restraint of trade or commerce among the several states, or foreign
nations is hereby declared illegal. Intel did not break Section 1 of the Sherman Act because the
company did not prohibit competing companies from making agreements to fix prices, to divide up
territories or customers, or to restrict the quantity of goods they bring to the market. Section 2 of the
Sherman Act states every person who shall monopolize or attempt to monopolize or combine or
conspire with any other person or persons to monopolize any part of the trade or commerce among the
several states, or with foreign nations, shall be deemed guilty of a felony. Intel did violate Section2 of
the Sherman Act, Intel employed payments for exclusivity, rebates, and other support conditional on
the recipient restricting its business with AMD, as well as threats of

Rust Belt Research Paper
To begin with, Trump s future plans on labor would not deliver the promised jobs in the Rust Belt and
would lead to the breakdown of labor unions. While campaigning to people in the Rust Belt(States
such as Ohio, Michigan, Illinois), Trump has mentioned in his campaign visits that he will aid the
people in those states by imposing tariffs on foreign nations such as China and also renegotiate
NAFTA, a trade deal that would lift trade barriers between the Northern American states. However, in
a letter to Trump which was signed by 600 economists, Trump s plan would not bring any jobs in
those states. The letter mentions, He has misled voters in states like Ohio and Michigan by asserting
that the renegotiation of NAFTA or the imposition of tariffs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

While providing false solutions to the declining workforce in the Rust Belt, Trump s labor plan poses
as a risk to labor unions since most of the legislation that Trump supports the decomposition of labor
unions. During a National Public Radio interview with AFL CIO president Richard Trumka, Trumka
mentions how Trump s plans will lead to the breakdown of labor unions. Trumka mentioned, [Richard
]Trumka: He supports legislation to destroy unions. And he s consistently outsourced American jobs to
line his own pockets. Trump wants our vote, so he ll say just about anything to get it (Labor Article 1).
Here, Trumka addresses some of the flaws about Trump s plans for labor unions. First, Trump is being
hypocritical by outsourcing jobs to foreign nations to create his line of items such as clothing, etc.
Trumka also gave insight into some of the things that are to be expected from Trump as president
since Trump is best represented as a person who does not keep their word or does not deliver on his
promises. With these looming problems in his Labor plans, Trump will hurt jobs in the United States
as well as lead to the breakdown of labor

Why Trophies Can Be Successful
Neil Patel once said, WInning provides happiness and losing provides wisdom. This is relevant
because in today s age we focus too much on winning and not what you gain when you lose. Today
participation trophies and prizes are almost given (Ashley Merryman.) Trophies can be a great way to
help motivate kids, but giving trophies out after a loss will misconscrew a their thought process.
Trophies were once rare things (Ashley Merryman.) When you were younger only the best out of the
best got trophies now as long you show you get a trophy. Competitiveness has dwindled down to
nothing because coaches feel everyone deserves a trophy. In Southern California, a regional branch of
the American Youth Soccer Organization hands out roughly 3,500 awards

How Did The Weather Affect The Spread Of The Great Plague
October 1347, tewele trading ships docked on the Sicilian port of Messina after sailing across the
Black Sea. When they arrived on the dock more than half of the sailors aboard were incohesive and
the others were running high fevers. Everyone on the ship had black boils that oozed blood and pus. In
panic, the Sician authorities ordered all of ships and infected people out of the harbor.
The winter before the Great Plague was a dry one. Allowing rodents to live more freely. Since the
weather was on the more dryer side, the rodent population did not decrease as it would during any
other winter. When spring came along the air was hot and sticky, giving the female rodents a chance to
give birth to two litters. With London s hotter weather, it soonly became known as the rat infested city.
Another spreader of the Great Plague was fleas. Once the fleas had gotten ahold of the disease, they
would spread it to stray cats and dogs. These strays would then pass it to the homeless. ... Show more

Soon after there would be swelling around the armpits and private areas. These swellings would grow
between the sizes of an egg to an apple. The plague s symptoms then changed to a rash like symptom,
often breaking out on the inner thigh or arms where it would spread throughout the body. One of the
first victims of the Black Plague was St Giles in the Fields church, where their death rates began to
rise in the dry summer. If someone was detected to have the plague they were locked into their homes
for 40 days and 40 nights. Their door was also painted with a red cross to keep others out. The only
ones allowed into the homes of the victims were local women who were called nurses . These women
brought food and took care of the victims. It was often reported that the nurses would take belongings

Proper Vaccination
Proper vaccination is important for the safety of people. If people aren t vaccinated, they can
potentially gain a virus and get hurt. They may also spread the virus to other people if they aren t
vaccinated. Taking a vaccination ensures a person will not get infected with the virus and die. These
are the reasons why everyone should get vaccinated. If people aren t properly vaccinated, it puts them
in danger. Viruses can spread easily and become massively harmful to a person, maybe causing them
to die. If they are infected, the strength of the virus can overpower the person s ability to provide
protection against it. A lack of vaccination can lead to serious health problems. Taking a vaccination
will also protect people around that person.

It was quite a surprise to see Microgaming s video slot titled Mystic Dreams. The game pays homage

To A Mouse Essay
Romantic poetry demonstrates a focus on nature and simplicity by displaying everyday life through
the use of everyday language. To a Mouse by Robert Burns displays the common motif found in
poetry at the time; the unity of man and nature. Poets of the Romantic time period believe that all of
nature, even the smallest parts, is connected. To a Mouse portrays the use of iambic tetrameter and
structural organization by using sequence of events with the main idea expressed in the last two
stanzas. This poem displays the equality of man and nature, simplifies situations, and illustrates the
natural instinct of living things to survive. A universal thought presented by romantic poets is the
belief that man conflicts with the natural course of

Painting At The Oklahoma City Museum Of Art
On September 4, 2016, I visited the Matisse in His Time exhibit at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art.
This exhibit is home to a plethora of pieces by many different European artists from the 19th and 20th
centuries. While it is focused on Matisse and his extensive works, containing more than 50 of his
pieces, there are many portraits and sculptures by other influential artists from that time period
including Renoir, Picasso, and Georges Braque. Three of the most appealing works that I encountered
in this exhibit are Maurice de Vlaminck s Portrait of Père Bouju, Pablo Picasso s Reclining Woman on
a Blue Divan, and Henri Matisse s sculpture series Henriette I, Henriette II, and Henriette III.
One of the most visually intriguing pieces in the exhibit is the Portrait of Père Bouju by Maurice de
Vlaminck. It was painted around the year 1900 by the French artist. It is not particularly beautiful by
normal standards. At first glance, the texture of the paint stands out more than any other feature. It has
very strongly defined brush strokes and thick paint in portions, especially the face of the man and the
background. The lines in the paint are mostly straight, short, and wide with some that are thinner and
wavy, like the smoke. The man is in the center of the canvas, he is the only discernable image, and he
is almost devoid of detail aside from the face and the hat. The colors are almost entirely neutral aside
from the red scarf. In this oil on canvas portrait the man is wearing a

The Effects Of Fast Food On The Food Industry
Think Skinny Thoughts
In 2007, one study found that 31 percent of American men and 33 percent of American women have a
body mass index of 30, at least. This means that in society today, they are considered obese (Human
Diet, 2014). 1/3 of children are overweight or obese. 2/3 of adults are overweight or obese (McCarthy,
2010).What is causing this mad epidemic outbreak? Media is enticing the eyes of many viewers by the
way they present themselves (What Causes Obesity, 2006). Advertisements in the fast food industry
are persuading people to eat their greasy, fat, salty, unhealthy foods (McDonald s Advertising Themes,
2013). In order for people to live a happy, healthy life, they must change their eating habits. However,
fast food advertisements are contributing to what is making eating habits so hard to change, with their
misleading advertising. Fast food is slowly but surely killing us, yet we hardly notice until it finally
hits hard. In this first advertisement, a skinning, young female with sun kissed skin, glistening with
moisture on her body from the heat of the sun hitting her, is enjoying a big juicy hamburger. Her hair
is brushed forward by the wind blowing gentle is seems, as she lays there in her petite, fitting, brown
bikini. In the background, ocean blue waves peacefully and steadily ride ashore. Sand is surrounding
this young lady. The clouds are far off into the horizon looking fluffy, full, and breathtaking to a
viewer s eye. Following the young lady s arm

The Roaring 20 s And The Great Depression
During my investigation I had a difficult time finding sources for my question. At the beginning of my
research I began searching for the styles of art during the Great Depression and Roaring Twenties. I
did this because I intended to base my research on the question ; What was the change in visual art
from the Roaring 20 s and the Great Depression in the United States? . After finding information of
the question, I realized that my question was mostly about the history of art and I could not go into
depth about it as a historian would. This is when I changed my question to What was the impact of the
Roaring 20 s and the Great Depression on visual art in the United States? . After I altered my question

Morgan Spurlock s Super Size Me
Research has shown that people who consume fast food more than twice a week increase the risk of
developing diabetes, heart disease, and other chronic problems. In 2004, Morgan Spurlock released
the movie called, Super Size Me. He was the director of the movie and starred in it as well. Moreover,
Spurlock dedicated himself to a 30 day plan of only eating McDonald s food three times a day. Not to
mention, he had to consume all of the food items on the menu at least once over a 30 day period. This
experiment had taken its toll on Spurlock s body both physically and psychologically. As a result, he
gained 24 ½ lbs. His body mass increased by 13% also increasing his cholesterol to 230 mg/dl.

There are many reasons as to why fast food should not be one of these options. One of them is obesity.
Obesity rates have doubled between 1980 and 2000. Almost 60 million adults are now obese. Children
have now doubled as being overweight and tripled in adolescents increasing exposure to obesity.
Obesity can cause type 2 diabetes, which can later on down the road cause kidney disease, blindness,
and amputations. Not to mention, direct health costs that have been linked back to diabetes have been
estimated in 1995 at $52 billion and in 2003 at $75 billion. Among adolescents and children s annual
hospital bills related to overweight and obesity more than tripled in the past two decades.
Comparatively, a women Hazel says she is morbidly obese. She is 24 years old, weighs 284 lbs, and is
5 2. She is the biggest in her family. Hazel was very thin as a child, but when puberty hit, she started
gaining weight and food became her only friend. Everytime she was stressed or angry, food would be
her comfort. She felt better after she ate, but all of this has just made her become more obese. Hazel
does not exit the house anymore due to her obesity. She has isolated herself from the world for the
past 2 years. Moreover, depression has taken its toll and she often contemplates on ending her life. She
does not have a great support system and no one to motivate her. Obesity has taken over her life and
she is tired of all the sadness and tears. Hazel feels underconfident, defeated and alone. Not having a

  • 2. Explain Why Nobody Is Wrong Nobody Is Wrong and If We Are, it s Not Our Fault Studies show that a child s manners are most likely to be learned at a very young age. Along with manners come a child s level of laziness and intensity, because of this children are able to persevere through hard times and find ways to step it up when they mature. As a child my parents raised me to the best of their ability and I would say 100% they did a great job and I m sure others would agree. I was taught to be hard working versatile person who would go to the extreme for a family member, God, or a job, and because of this I had grown up doing all of these to make my life as good as I could get it. Everyone knows that when a person gets older they are given responsibilities they have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Now that I have grown up I have realized that it s not America its Texas that has that mentality,(which is why I plan on staying). I can now see that nobody likes to be wrong that whatever they are doing it is either not their fault or it can be right if we fight for it enough. It seems like nobody is fat anymore that they, have a thyroid problem, nobody is short they are just, vertically challenged. Not only that but now people who are alcoholics are only alcoholics because their father was a drunk and now they re a victim to his drinking. Gay people can t help being attracted to the same sex they were born that way and because they re born that way why should we discriminate. If a person says that homosexuality is wrong they will probably be told, why do you have to hate or why do you have to judge. Growing up in modern American society is the hardest challenge I have faced and will definitely get harder, but if you stay rooted in your faith and actually be 100% about your faith you should have no problem living in an American culture where you must be accepting of everyone. These are the things that have allowed me to survive thus far. If you keep a civil tongue and voice your opinion in a respectful manner you can win people s hearts in a way no one can comprehend. The easiest way to survive in this country is to be loving and accepting, but ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. My First Year Of College Senior year in high school, I thought I had everything figured out. At the time, I was in a program called PSEO where I was able to go to college while I was in high school. Being a first generation college student I didn t know how serious this first year of college would affect the rest of my college career. I should have taken that first year seriously. I thought that I would graduate high school and attend a 4 year university and graduate to go to optometry school. As a planning type, I had everything in place. Until my cousin s grandma passed away, I grew up with them living a walking block away. I was shocked and reflected on my life that I have planned out for myself. After graduating high school packed up my things and headed out west to San Jose, California to move in with my grandparents. I wanted to spend as much time with them while I attended a local community college called DeAnza. I was surrounded by people who could care less about anyone else but themselves. I didn t fit, but I stayed to be with my grandparents for the rest of the quarter. As the quarter went by so did my bank account, I had no option but to go home to Minnesota. Once I got back to Minnesota I got a job of being an optometric technician working side by side with the doctor. After 6 months of working there I could not see myself as an optometrist. I attended Normandale Community College temporarily until I knew what my next steps would be but I ended up leaving Normandale with an Associate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Disability In Freaks The film Freaks was released in the early 20th century by Tod Browning and it definitely caught the eyes of everyone because of its risky and unusual cast. The lecture notes state that the movie was pulled by MGM and was not shown in mainstream theaters until 1960 because of the negative reactions of the viewers. This film had representations of a mixture of class and disability that was not fit to be shown at the time of the early 20th century. Freaks illustrates disability mainly and at first displays deficiencies as being monstrous by showing the people screaming once seeing one of the disabled humans at the very beginning. However, by the first ten minutes in the movie it is obvious that the freaks are just like normal people but with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Janet Zandry who is the author of Decloaking Class: Why Class Identity and Consciousness Count , defines class as an experience of shared economic circumstances and shared social and cultural practices in relation to positions of power (Zandry 103). The film the Freaks illustrates class by showing Cleo and the other people without disabilities as part of a group who share the same social practices like how they think they are better than the freaks and how they think it is okay to steal from and hurt them. The normal group all believed the same; they thought of themselves as higher class and that they were in charge. The scene that really stood out and showed the class differences was when Cleo and Hercules had a dinner with the freaks . The freaks tried to invite Cleo into their group by passing around a drink that all the disabled drank out of while chanting one of us, one of us. Once the cup got to Cleo, she freaked out and threw the drink in one of their face. She was showing that she is not part of their class group and it made her upset that they even would consider her part of them. This scene is a good indicator of how the people in America during the 20th century thought as themselves as better than the disabled people and did not want to think of themselves as equal to ... • 6. The Increasing Significance of Multinational Company The increasing significance of MNCs in 1950s transformed them to the dominant phenomenon in the international economic relations since then. It has triggered a strong interest among the scholars, media, and society. The surrounding controversy around MNCs has triggered the need and necessity for the analysis due to the fact, that it is described by some scholars and economists as the principal instrument for maximizing world welfare, and by others as the imperialistic agents (United Nations Publication 1973, p.1). Non state actors are the international organizations that possess the diplomatic power and corporate with the states in the global scene (Kegley and Wittkopf 2004). The question is whether MNCs are such important non state actors and in which ways they exert power over the states. First of all, one needs to comprehend the definition of a MNC. A MNC is a business organization whose activities are located in more than two countries. This means that MNC consists of a country where the business is incorporated, and of the branches, or subsidiaries in foreign countries. MNCs can obviously vary in the extent of their multinational activities as regards to the number of countries in which they operate. A large MNC can operate in hundreds of countries. The economic reality demonstrates the ability of the company located in one country to control the operations in foreign countries (Chandler and Mazlish 2005). • 7. Personal Note On Self Awareness Self awareness is always a helpful trait to have in any facet of life. Dr. Kahlib Fischer said that the task of completing the self awareness test is a means of helping you come to terms with ways that God has gifted and equipped you to serve His purposes in whatever organization He has you in (2006). Being aware of your own weaknesses and strengths can help you strive to be a better version of your current self. How, you may ask? For me, I know that time management and attention to detail are weaknesses. Because I know that, I am aware that I need to pay extra attention to the things that require these two traits. It has helped me prioritize activities to ensure I get them done correctly and in a timely manner. I used the Prentice Hall Self Assessment Online Library to learn more about myself (2016). I hope to be able to use the knowledge I have gained in my personal and professional life. Below is a summary of what I learned from each part of the assessment. Good introductory paragraph helps follow the discussion What about Me? For most of the assessments in the first section, I was not surprised by my results. I am fairly self aware of my attitudes about most issues. The one that surprised me the most was the section on ambiguity. Robbins and Judge say that the greater the ambiguity, the greater the potential for conflict to emerge (2009, p. 488). Earlier asbestos was used as friction material in single plate dry friction clutch. Asbestos is hazardous to human health and detrimental to environment. A major benefit to using a lining or facing is that it prevents metal to metal contact within the clutch set, resulting in less wear and tear on the clutch components. Clutch facings tend to have mid level coefficients of friction, and are responsible for removing most of the clutch vibrations from the engine. They also aid in allowing engines to achieve high speeds without damaging the components. Fig.1 Clutch Facing 3. The word family may be defined in various ways: you may define it as a group of close friends who you genuinely care for and trust, or as a group of people who are related by the blood which runs through their veins. In this country, we see all types of families. The traditional nuclear family consists of a father, mother, and children. However, currently this is not always the case. Divorce rates have risen over the years, breaking the nuclear family; unfortunately, this event can affect children s development. Gary Peterson and Kevin Bush mention the conclusion of children benefiting from two parent families rather than single parent families (499). This can be proven when we notice ... Divorce can be a very stressful meanwhile young children tend to blame themselves for the whole situation; most of them believe that it s their fault that their parents were fighting. Cruz, a former student of Stoneman Douglas, shot and killed seventeen and wounded countless others without any provocation or reason. Even with hindsight, one cannot come up with any conceivable reason or rationale for his action. Most of these students have probably never met him in person, let alone caused him any harm or slight. As a result, William Golding would state that Nikolas Cruz is an innately evil person. He killed simply for the sake of killing. Conversely, Gibran, who is ... Throughout the poem, Gibran presents several different examples, such as You are good in countless ways, (Gibran 26) and You are good when you strive to give of yourself. (Gibran 10). In both of these examples, he was taking the readers to a personal level, to draw his point across that goodness resides within everyone. He seemed to argue that evil was a byproduct of circumstances; it was always created by other factors; it was never always there as opposed to good. In one of the first lines of the poems Gibran says, For what is evil but good tortured by its own hunger and thirst? Verily when good is hungry it seeks food even in dark caves, and when it thirsts it drinks even of dead waters. (Gibran 3 4). He manipulates personification, when good is hungry it seeks food even in dark caves to represent the idea that evil was formed when good changed by external forces or by necessity. For these reasons, he also made it clear that we, the readers, have to work to maintain our inherent goodness. In other words, good will eventually turn into evil if we don t pay attention to our environment or to allow injustice to flourish around us. For instance, in the last line of the poem, Gibran ends the poem with For the truly good ask not the naked, Where is your garment? nor the houseless, What has befallen your house? (Gibran 37 38 ). By ending his poem with an analogy, Gibran is trying to leave a strong impression on us by questioning if we the readers are good people. He bluntly states, for truly good people ask not, Where is your garment? essentially saying that good people don t ask questions, but rather act on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. The Rampage of Polio During the twentieth century Americans were afraid. They were afraid of the Russians, they were afraid of the economy, they were afraid of Hitler, and they were afraid of polio. A disease as indiscriminate as a nuclear bomb, it struck young and old, rich and poor, white and black. It caused fear and hysteria, confusion and anger, paralysis, and even death. By this time the United States had endured smallpox, cholera, yellow fever, and tuberculosis; but it had never experienced a wide spread epidemic of a disease that seemed to specifically target children before the twentieth century. Although polio effects people of all ages, children are the most susceptible due to their weak immune systems. Many victims of polio were partially or completely paralyzed, and thousands died. The summer plague would run rampant in the United States for nearly four decades. Before the 1890 s polio was fairly common but largely unknown. The disease was very common in early history due to a lack of sanitation but because many people contracted the disease they developed immunity to that strain at an early age. If the infected persons lived through the early infection they were then immune to that particular strain of polio. This meant that in excess of 90% of some populations were immune, while less than 0.5% were paralyzed due to polio. Evidence has been found of polio in the ancient world. The State, for its part, asserts that the documents were critical to establish that the contraband at issue here belonged to Johnson, and that any prejudice may have suffered did not substantially outweigh the evidence s probative value. Natalie Zemon Davis s book: The Return of Martin Guerre, was written after the film, which she also contributed to as an historical advisor. However, what ultimately prompted Davis to write her book was the need to make sense out of a film that was shifting away from historical evidence. Davis s main objective was to examine what motivated people during the sixteenth century and whether they valued truth in addition to the film s assumption, which placed importance on money and property. One of the most significant sources Davis used in her work was written by Jean de Coras. In his book, Arrest Memorable, Coras assembled all of his evidence and formal arguments ... Similarly, the film also portrayed Bertrande as a victim who was fooled into believing the impostor was her husband for several years. Conversely, Davis believed that Bertrande s conduct revealed her ingenuity and calculations that were common tactics demonstrated by peasant women who were forced to live in a patriarchal society. As a result, Davis believed she was Arnaud s accomplice who was aware of his fraud, but was desperate for a husband even if it meant lying to her family. The Controversy Between Mercantilism And Free Trade The controversy that currently swirls around the phenomenon of globalization is to a large extent a variation on a much older debate between mercantilist supporters of protectionism and liberal proponents of free trade. Modern mercantilism, or neomercantilism, is focused instead on accumulation of national wealth via a trade surplus, which is the result of exporting more than one imports.
