Ssg Arroa s Squad At Fort Indiantown Gap
SSG Arroa s squad moved cautiously down the path that the Sergeant had marked to the main gate at
Fort Indiantown Gap. The rest of the first platoon had held back as well as the company to provide
cover for the advancing squad. SSG Arroa had cleared about a hundred yards past the main gain
without any problems. They encountered no resistance, but several booby traps, which they disabled.
Their orders were that once they were able to breach the main gate, they were to begin to remove the
barricades, which consisted of everything but the kitchen sink, several cars that had been pushed into
the front of the gate, chairs, benches, large rocks, mounds of dirt, and a couple of desks. SSG Arroa
sent Corporal Reyes to his Platoon Sergeant and told him to send more men to help clear the
barricade. There was no way he could provide security for him and his men as well as move
everything out of the way. SFC Dittmyer was the Platoon Sergeant; the man was not a great thinker
and a very poor leader. He had decided to send one more squad to help SSG Arroa; why the entire
platoon didn t move was lost on SSG Arroa. Once they had cleared the gate everyone was supposed to
move through it so why wait. However, SSG Arroa knew it wasn t his job to wonder why the Army
did things. His job was to execute his orders to the best of his ability. Second Squad led by SSG Dane
moved out of their position in the woods running toward the main gate, down the path and meeting up
with first squad.

Thirteen Days vs. the real Cuban Missile Crisis
The movie Thirteen Days directed by Roger Donaldson is about the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962. It is
often referred to as a docudrama as it is very entertainment oriented but still remains close to the roots
of what actually happened. Since it was produced at a later date than many other films portraying the
events, Thirteen Days was able to access recently declassified information which helped in attaining a
more historically accurate film. Although there were some discrepancies with what happened in real
life compared to the film. The year is 1962 and American surveillance planes discover that the USSR
is in the process of placing nuclear ballistic missiles in Cuba. The missiles have a said capability to
reach 80 million Americans ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was because the appearance of Kenneth O Donnell is much more appealing to the average
American. He is the perfect protagonist, just an average middle class American trying to do the right
thing. That is why he was given this role and it is understandable why this trade off would be made for
entertainment purposes as Thirteen Days is a movie and not a documentary. Another less criticized
aspect of the movie veering from 100% historical accuracy is that nothing is said about President
Kennedy s interests in ridding Fidel Castro of Cuba but in reality he had been made aware of secret
missions into Cuba prior to the Bay of Pigs. As well as approving the Bay of Pigs invasion. During the
Bay of Pigs the US tried to pass the invasion off as Cuban defectors and US armed forces had no role
in the invasion. President Kennedy even said The armed forces of this country would not intervene in
any way. Even though that is of course a blatant lie and the Kennedy Administration helped set up and
fund the CRC (Cuban Revolutionary Council) to take over after Fidel s government had been
removed. None of President Kennedy s knowledge of this is shown in the film because it would not fit
with how Kenneth O Donnell advises him on the subject matter. Both of the previously mentioned
deviations from historical accuracy are really relatively minor in the grand scheme of things. The
producer went to great lengths to maintain historical

Csds s Structural And Organizational Dynamics
Over the past thirty years, the Cornell Speech and Debate Society ( CSDS ) has established itself as a
internationally recognized debate and speech organization. Like all organizations, however, the CSDS
and its members experience conflict that arises from various sources. In particular, many of the CSDS
s structural and organizational dynamics create and exacerbate conflict rather than resolve it. The most
common and recurring sources of CSDS conflict include status differences among various
stakeholders, competition for limited resources, and perceptual differences of the CSDS s purpose. To
mitigate conflict that arises from these sources and others, the CSDS should adopt a multifaceted
conflict resolution system that seeks settle conflict ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Support Children And Young People
Support children and young people to have positive relationships
1.1 Identify the different relationships children and young people may have
There are many different relationships that children develop as they grow, babies know that they cry to
get attention from their parent for food or just a cuddle this is the beginning of learning to build
relationships. Every child and family are different in how they believe relationships should be made
and who children are allowed to talk to or be around so everyone is different when it comes to who
they trust or get along with. Relationships children and young people may have are: parental, carer,
sibling, family, friendship, emotional, acquaintance and professional.
1.2 Explain the importance of positive relationships for development and wellbeing
The quality of relationships that we as practitioners have with children and young people has a huge
effect on the way in which we can work with them and help them. When children feel comfortable
with us they can separate more easily from their parents, they are more likely to participate in the play
and learning activities if they are secure emotionally. When children have a strong relationship they
are less likely to show unwanted behaviour as we can recognise and meet their needs, children s
language may develop more quickly as they feel confident talking to us. Practitioners can plan more
accurately as they understand children s developmental needs and know their interests and what

Integrity and ethical behavior: Ethical and responsible decision making is not only important for
public relations, but it is also a necessary element in risk management and avoiding lawsuits.
Organizations should develop a code of conduct for their directors and executives that promotes
ethical and responsible decision making. It is important to understand, though, that reliance by a
company on the integrity and ethics of individuals is bound to eventual failure. Because of this, many
organizations establish Compliance and Ethics Programs to minimize the risk that the firm steps
outside of ethical and legal boundaries.
Disclosure and transparency: Organizations should clarify and make publicly known the roles and
responsibilities of board and management to provide shareholders with a level of accountability. They
should also implement procedures to independently verify and safeguard the integrity of the company
s financial reporting. Disclosure of material matters concerning the organization should be timely and
balanced to ensure that all investors have access to clear, factual information.
Issues involving corporate governance principles include:
Internal controls and internal auditors The independence of the entity s external auditors and the
quality of their audits Oversight and management of risk Oversight of the preparation of the entity s

Religious Role In Canterbury Tales
During the Middle Ages in Medieval Europe, the Roman Catholic Church played an important role in
practically every aspect of life. It dominated and had a tremendous control over everyone. They
specifically had control over the decision of who goes to Heaven and who goes to Hell therefore
creating a sort of fear amongst people who believed that their souls were the most important thing they
had and that the only way for their souls to go Heaven was through the church. For this reason exactly,
some religious figures started to take advantage of their position knowing how devoted people were to
the church. This led to the formation of stereotypes towards them and triggered distaste toward the
church. Chaucer was one mainly affected by religion and the church; it played an important role in his
poem the Canterbury Tales where he used religious ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When we think of a nun we usually think of a religious woman who dedicates her life to worshipping,
reading, and working in the convent or nunnery. They also take on the vows of poverty, chastity, and
obedience. If you were a prioress, however, you had the responsibility of managing the activities of
the nuns, administering discipline, and making decisions on things such as housing and work. In
Chaucer s Canterbury Tales we are seen with the character of Madam Eglantyne, a prioress who
obsesses with earthly pleasures. When you take on the role of being a nun you are prohibited from
owning, and especially wearing, any sorts of jewelry and intricate clothing. However, that prohibition
didn t stop her from wearing her elegant cloak and coral trinket. A Prioress was also supposed to love
God with all her heart, but Madam Eglantyne was infatuated with the concept of courtly love. Like

providence. Lee besides being known for sets in New York City, Lee has designed the sets for Trinity
Repertory Theater in Providence, since the 1960 s. Many of Lee s coworkers, describe him as a
dedicated, imaginative designer. Lee seemingly never repeats a set, when you step into one of his sets
you are transported to somewhere else. Richard Jenkins (a former actor at Trinity) recalls a time when,
Lee went out on the stage during an intermission and torched away a cab because it blocked the view
of the actors. Lee s reputation has given him jobs all over. Lee has never sent out a resume and he
doesn t even have a PR person, being so well known people line up to hire him. Lee though has never
let this fame go to his head, he still works equally hard on each set. He doesn t even know how much
he gets paid. Lee s wife Brooke takes care of all his finances all Lee wants is a little spending money
in his pocket and he s happy. Eugene Lee has impacted the world of theater in ways most designers

Living distinct lives in the New World, two American authors present striking pictures of their
struggles in the land of opportunity. Samuel Sewall s and William Byrd II s diaries provide a glimpse
into the everyday routines of early American settlers. An accomplished judge, businessman, and
printer of Massachusetts Bay, Sewall writes about the developments around him. Likewise, Byrd, a
successful planter, slave owner, and author from Charles City County, Virginia, leaves valuable
information concerning his routines in his diary. Even though these two men share the same nation,

The Effects Of Technology On The Environment
While it may be evident that technology is altering many aspects of life, increasing amounts of
evidence declare that technology benefits us. While the author s argument makes excellent points, they
believe technology is negatively effecting people s lives. The author demonstrates competence but
lacks rigid evidence defending his opinionated reasoning. The written article therefore provides little
effect to believing their cause. The author begins their argument by stating information about an
individual who has done countless studies on how learning and technology coexist. However, the
research stated is offered little background. It leads the reader to believe that the studies
unquestionably proved negative effects of technology effecting learning behavior. The author declares
that the studies were on individual classrooms, this leads to many questions on how accurate and
reliable the results were, when looking at a widespread audience. The author fails to consider the
abundance of benefits technology invokes on the environment. In the article the author states, Multiple
studies of violent media games have shown that they can produce many negative effects, including
aggressive behavior (Greenfield 3). While at first glance the reader might not question the authenticity
of that quote, there has been an over abundance of evidence proving how incorrect it is. Since
technology started becoming a keen part of everyday lives, there has been countless studies

Attractiveness As A Long Term Romantic Partner
Attractiveness ratings as a short term and a long term romantic partner, as well as an opposite sex
friend and a friend to other opposite sex people are shown in Fig.1 (women s rating for attractiveness
of male dates) and Fig.2 (men s rating for attractiveness of female dates). In Fig.1 and Fig.2, it is
noteworthy that men considered even low willing female dates as attractive as more than 5 out of 10
in the scales, but women never gave men with low willingness such high ratings in all four categories
of attractiveness.
A three way 2 (Sex: Women vs. Men) x 3 (Willingness: Willing vs. Control vs. Unwilling) x 3

Self-Evaluation Essay
As a junior in high school, I started getting emails from a division three college known as Carleton.
The purpose of these messages was to recruit me to come play football for them. After multiple
exchanges, I then got in touch with their running back coach and recruiting coordinator, Coach Jerome
Smith. I later found out that Coach Smith got his master s degree in athletic administration from
Indiana University and had connections to the football program here as well. While he took classes
towards his degree, he also worked closely with the football team as an operations intern and quality
control coach. After recognizing his connection to Indiana University, I reached out to him via text

His idea of planning does not differ from what I learned in class; however, if I had to teach this topic
to kids looking to go into coaching, I would make it specific to this field. Also, his outlook on division
three athletics resembles what the book says. They do not have a lot of money to bring in students;
therefore, they must focus on providing a fun environment for the players that do decide to play for
them. I really enjoyed this experience because it made me want to branch out and gain as much
experience as I can. Coach Smith started right where I am at and is currently in the process of working
his way up through the ranks, hoping to reach the division one level eventually. As he pushed his way
from quality control coach here at Indiana, to coach at Marian University, and then through multiple
division three schools, Coach Smith took a small amount of knowledge from every position he held.
Now, he finally got himself to an opportunity to learn how to coach and effectively recruit players to
come to his school. Overall, I believe this interview was an important step for me to reach my career
goals and I will use this experience to grow as a coach. I feel that this assignment is one that students
should take seriously because it forces you to reach out to individuals that you may not have otherwise
contacted. Being one step closer to my career goals, I can thank Coach Smith for teaching me to
branch out and connect with as many people as possible just as he

The Science Of Entomology
Entomology is an area of forensics that studies insects. The science is mainly applied to murders,
since insects are often the first at the crime scene (Discovery Network, 2015). The bugs can be used to
analyze a body, especially to determine when and where the murder occurred (Environmental Science,
2017). Entomologists are able to do so by analyzing the age and species of a bug (Discovery Network,
2015). While this does not always provide necessary evidence, it often gives police a lead in a case
(Discovery Network, 2015). Ultimately, entomology is a science that works due to biology, can serve
as strong evidence, and has multiple requirements in order to go into the field. In order to be an
entomologist, one must meet multiple requirements. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Entomologists are people who have worked very hard to meet all the requirements for the job (Study,
2017). They have gone through years of college, and developed the right aptitude as well (Study,
2017). The insects the entomologists study give multiple clues with their actions (Crime Museum,
2017). By simply living out their life, the bugs can provide entomologists with the time a murder
occurred (Crime Museum, 2017). This can then be used to put together a report against someone, and
from there, hopefully accuse the correct person (Discovery Network, 2015).

Methodology
Methodology in cross cultural psychology can be divided into two categories: quantitative and
qualitative. Methodology in cross cultural psychological studies are the popular methods used by cross
cultural psychologists and offers critical proposals about the process of gathering facts and
interpreting data in comparative studies(Shiraev amp; Levy, 2010, p.,28). Qualitative research is
carrying out mainly in a natural setting, where the research participants carry out their daily activities
in a non research atmosphere. Qualitative studies are also conducted when there are difficulties in
measuring variables, in situations when the subjects cannot read or use answer scales or when there
are no standardized measurement instruments available. Qualitative research is also useful in
situations in which variables are not completely conceptualized or operationally defined. The
qualitative method can be useful when the experiences and priorities of the research participants
heavily influence the research (Shiraev amp; Levy, 2010, p., 29). Quantitative methodology is a
measure of correlation in research conducted in

Themes Of Love In La Belle Dame Sans Merci
How do different Poets express different attitudes to Romantic Marriage in La Belle Dame sans Merci
, My Last Duchess and Sonnet 116
By: David Hu
The theme and idea of the unforgiving tides of love is presented in a range of ways throughout the
poems in the anthology. The poets all choose to build their stories around this subject while each
choose to approach this from different perspectives and stances. La Belle Dame sans Merci focuses on
the idea of unreciprocated love; reflecting William Keat s personal feud against the pains of love.
Balance between the desires and sacrifices of love becomes one of the central ways Keats tries to
deliver his message whereas Robert Browning s My Last Duchess is associated with the attitude and

The ballad adopts a unique stanza structure that shortens the last line of every quatrain which creates
an abrupt change in rhythm, helping keep the reader focused. The result is the first three lines of every
quatrain being written in Iambic tetrameter in which a line contains four feet, with the stress falling
upon the first syllable in each pair as opposed to the Iambic dimeter in the fourth line which contains
two feet with the stress falling upon the first syllable in each pair for instance, Fast withereth too. , in
line 12 . This is intended to help enhance the flow of the poem by forcing the reader to conform to the
rhythm. The differentiation in the fourth line is used by Keats to create a feeling of emptiness and
suspense. This is used by Keats to emphasize the lovesick and sore feelings of the knight to the reader.
In contrast, Robert Browning s My Last Duchess is written in the form of a monologue through
Iambic Pentameter. The monologue is one entity divided only by the rhyming couplets. However, the
flow and rhyme is partially sacrificed because of there is so much enjambment. Browning uses this
format in order to emphasize the themes presented. For instance in line 31, Or blush, at least. She
thanked men good! but thanked , where but thanked is a continuation of the phrase she thanked men
good . Browning uses this format in My Last Duchess

Teletech Case Summary
Statement of Problem Teletech Corporation s CFO, Margaret Weston needs to decide three things. (1)
What are the appropriate hurdle rates for each segment of their business? (2) Is the Products and
Systems segment underperforming? And (3) How should Teletech respond to the raider Victor
Yossarian? Facts and Assumptions Teletech Corporation has two distinct business segments, the more
established Telecommunications Services segment, and the recently added Products and Systems
segment. These two business segments are in different phases of the business life cycle and thus have
radically different growth rates and characteristics. In 2004 the Telecommunications segment earned a
return on capital of 9.10% while the Product and Systems ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The complete list of companies statistics reviewed along with the comparable businesses ( Comps )
selected for use in the analysis can be found in Appendix A. Comps for the Telecommunications
Services segment are highlighted in light orange, and the Comps for the Products and Systems
segment are highlighted in light blue. Initially statistics (Including Betas, and equity debit ratios) for
the Comps was averaged to calculate the individual WACCs. Telecommunications Services Segment
Using the Comps we assume a Cost of Equity of 10.81% and a 23.92%: 76.08% Debit Equity ratio.
The resulting WACC would be 9.05%. (See Appendix B for the details of the calculation) This is
slightly below the current companywide WACC (hurdle rate) of 9.3%. Thus if viewed from this
perspective it does appear that if this segment WACC was implemented and managers invested in
projects. In practicality however the cost of the various forms of capital for the Telecommunications
will likely not change, this is what Helen Buono refers to when she says all money is green . Thus to
adjust for the practicality of how the company actually receives funding we assume that the various
forms of capital would not change from their present value and recalculate the WACC using only the
updated mix of capital from our Comps. The result is a WACC of 9.17% that is both risk adjusted and
practical. One important not is that this is currently below corporate hurdle rate and thus if this rate
was to be

Compare And Contrast The Society And The Giver
Most individuals are having their own idealistic society. They dream an imaginary place or state in
which everything is perfect which is called utopia. People who lived there, are having a happy life
without pain and disappointment just like The Giver. Seems to perfect society, people s lives are very
well organized, they do not decide to work, do not decide spouse, these societies have done for the
people to decide. And this world does not have any memory, emotion, color and music. They only
have the most basic needs of life. Compare our realistic society in china and the community in the
book The Giver, which are totally having some difference and similarity.

The Refugee Crisis And The Arab Spring
The Refugee Crisis
Nothing ever stays in the place it stars; everything has a habit of spreading. Throughout history,
problems rarely ended in the places they started. Like the plague, Ebola, WWI/II, communism, the
Arab spring, and now the Syrian crisis. The Arab Spring was a series of anti government protests,
uprisings, and armed rebellions that spread across the Middle East in early 2011. The Arab spring
protest against al Assad s Syrian government in the spring of 2011 evolved into an armed conflict
between oppositions and government forces in certain cities and then evolved into a civil war. The
Syrian civil war caused the large scale diaspora of Syrian citizens, leading to the Syrian refugee crisis.
The Syrian refugee crisis led to psychological and physical problems for the refugees and various
problems in neighboring host countries, but solutions have been effective so far.
The refugee crisis led to physical problems like inadequate accommodation, lack of necessities, and
comfort. In addition, Psychological problems, due to trauma that has been suffered and continuing
problems with day to day living. According to the United Nations, approximately 2 million Syrian
refugees are seeking asylum in the neighboring countries of Iraq, Jordan and Lebanon and half of
those refugees are children Thousands of these children were displaced in refugee camps; some of
them without their parents to comfort them from the horrors of war (a1). According to Dr. Rona,

Separation of Mixtures
Purpose
A mixture is a blend of at least two types of matter. The two types of mixtures are heterogeneous and
homogeneous. A heterogeneous mixture is a mixture that does not appear the same throughout. A
homogeneous mixture is a mixture that is identical everywhere. A mixture could be composed of
elements and compounds; both are pure substances. A compound is when multiple elements are put
together, like water. Everything has chemical and physical characteristics and these qualities help
scientists classify matter.
Hypothesis
If the properties are identified and utilized, then the heterogeneous mixture can be separated.

Low Voter Turnout In The United States
2014 Midterm Elections Low Voter Turnout
Essentially, vigorous voter turnout is very paramount to a healthy economy. In most cases, low turnout
is attributed to low participation in political issues and the misguided notion that voting in one
candidate will have less impact on public policy. In the United States, voter participation keeps on
fluctuating which has been an area of concern especially in midterm elections. More specifically, the
2014 midterm election reported the lowest voter participation in a period of more than seven decades.
This paper delves into analyzing the reasons for the low voter turnout in 2014 midterm elections in the
United States. The paper will also provide recommendations on how voter turnout may be increased in
the 2016 general elections.
The 2014 midterm voter turnout was considerably low owing to a number of reasons. One possible
reason attributed to the low voter turnout is disillusionment with the leading party. Data collected from
exit polls indicated that about 54 percent of citizens were opposed to President Barack Obama
performance as the president(Ching, 2014). Further, 65% of them viewed the country as headed
towards the wrong direction. Most voters were dissatisfied with the Republicans leaders and lacked
confidence in the government to do ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This would be meant to give a conviction to the potential voters that they are indeed different and they
can provide practical solutions. It is also the responsibility of the Americans to oppose voter
suppression attempts among other aspects. This would be through demanding an automatic voter
registration. Furthermore, voters should pressure the candidates to put forward visions that are of
benefit to the middle and the lower class. Practically, people would participate in politics more in
politics if they feel that the government plays a more beneficial role in their lives(Lerner,

Karl Marx s View Of Communism
Karl Marx went to three universities before graduating and receiving his degree. He is a German
scholar who disliked Russia his whole life. Communism or Marxism is the belief that everything is
owned by everyone, not one individual. Karl Marx first thought of the idea of communism in 1848
when he created the Communist Manifesto. He came up with the idea of communism as a result of the
failing capitalist system. Karl Marx has influenced many countries today with his writings and beliefs
of communism.
The life of Karl Marx had its ups and downs. He was born on May 5, 1818 in Trier, Rhine Province,
Prussia. He was the oldest of 9 children. His father was a lawyer and the Man of the Enlightenment.
Both Karl Marx s parents had a Jewish background. As Karl got older he also got more reckless. He
did not manage money well and was occasionally broke. When Karl went to college, he went to the
University of Bonn(3). It was a rebellious school. He later was imprisoned for drunkenness and

there anyway. In Britain, while Karl lived there he was a journalist. He could never earn a living wage.
Since, he could not earn a living wage he did not have a stable living, which was hard for him to be
able to survive on his own. Karl had to rely heavily on his friend Friedrich Engels, the other creator of
the Communist Manifesto. He did not have much money and most people did not like him because of
his beliefs and his works. Many governments were threatened by the writings of Karl Marx, for in fear
of a revolution in their own countries. Later, in his years of staying in Britain he become distant from

A Product Of Clean Edge
Intro: A product that was finishing trials was to soon end up on the shelf of every major retailer in the
world. Paramount, a global market leader in the consumer non disposable razor industry is planning to
launch a new product into the market by the name of Clean Edge. Clean Edge is an innovative,
premium priced, new razor whose goal is to increase Paramount s market share, sales and inevitably
profit. As a company, Paramount has a strong history in the industry, entering the market back in 1962
and growing to a $13 billion company in 2009. Paramount specializes in disposable razors, cartridges,
shaving cream and depilatories and currently has two razor products already on the market, Pro and
Avail. With the launch of Clean Edge, management experiences conflicting ideas; Paramount is unsure
of how to best position Clean Edge within the growing market, considering the competition launched
a similar product right before the Clean Edge launch. The company is torn between two primary
options, a niche position, targeting a small market with a premium razor versus a mainstream position,
targeting a broader market by presenting an innovative product. After analyzing marketing budgets,
market share, operating profit, branding strategy and allocations for 2008 and 2009, it is concluded
that Paramount should engage in a niche position, which as per Appendix C will generate the higher
profit of $31.37 compared to the $2.84 in profit generated by a mainstream position. Clean Edge

The Pros And Cons Of Cognitive Dissonance
We, the First Presidency...of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, solemnly proclaim that
marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God... This is the opening line in The Family: A
Proclamation to the World, given by former President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day
Saints (LDS), Gordon B. Hinckley, in September of 1995. This is one of the main doctrines in the
LDS faith. In light of the U.S. Supreme Court s ruling regarding the legalization of gay marriage in
2015, these two ideologies, what is socially acceptable versus the standards of the LDS faith, stand
contrary to one another. This contradiction causes what is known as cognitive dissonance. Many
people have noted that members of the LDS faith have felt this dissonance from society, but what
about those people of the LDS faith who identify as LGBT or experience same sex attraction on some
level? The more we identify the two things that oppose each other, the greater the cognitive
dissonance. I myself am a member of the LDS faith, I also experience same sex attraction (SSA). It is
easy for me to find moments in my life where I have felt cognitive dissonance. Cognitive dissonance
is the distressing mental state caused by inconsistency between a person s two beliefs (Griffin 2014).
To put it simply, it is the uncomfortable feeling that we get when we choose to do something that we
know we should not. Examples of cognitive dissonance can be found in every aspect of life. An addict

Zombie Apocalypse History
6 Of The Most Original Zombie Movies Ever Made
Even the most passionate zombie movie fan will have to admit that the genre gets played out from
time to time. Sure, we all love a good walking dead/end of the world film. Yet, it s been a long time
since George A. Romero and Night of the Living Dead scared up audiences in 1968.
Since then, a slew of films have been produced and they ve varied wildly in terms of quality. Some
being quality, but most not so much. Yet, it s not always the quality of a zombie film that makes
people come. Some just want to see the undead devouring on some human flesh. Films have ranged
from classic horror themes to ridiculous plots about loved ones coming back from the dead. Some are
even timepieces that may only ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Critics both loved and faulted FotLD s zany, largely original plot despite attempting to cash in on two
often cliche genres in one film. While the film did receive high marks from some critics, FotLD never
created much of a buzz. But it does have the bad guy from Kindergarten Cop in it. So, that should
make someone reading this interested, right?
Warm Bodies (2013)
A zombie love story isn t the most original concept in recent years. Yet, Warm Bodies went deeper
with a background into the main zombie character, R. In doing so, the film showed a human element
to the undead (thanks largely to Nicholas Hoult s voiceovers) that hasn t been explored in detail in
other films.
Another interesting twist to the genre was the addition of separate zombie factions. The far
deteriorated become the bad guys, along with the humans while those left in the middle are the heroes.
It s a classic tale of why extremes are never a good idea. Additionally, clever writing and a cast of
solid Hollywood veterans make Warm Bodies more endearing than other out there love stories.
Besides, it s not as if Warm Bodies was a trilogy centered on a love triangle involving a teenage girl, a
vampire and a werewolf. That would just be over the top.

  • 2. Ssg Arroa s Squad At Fort Indiantown Gap SSG Arroa s squad moved cautiously down the path that the Sergeant had marked to the main gate at Fort Indiantown Gap. The rest of the first platoon had held back as well as the company to provide cover for the advancing squad. SSG Arroa had cleared about a hundred yards past the main gain without any problems. They encountered no resistance, but several booby traps, which they disabled. Their orders were that once they were able to breach the main gate, they were to begin to remove the barricades, which consisted of everything but the kitchen sink, several cars that had been pushed into the front of the gate, chairs, benches, large rocks, mounds of dirt, and a couple of desks. SSG Arroa sent Corporal Reyes to his Platoon Sergeant and told him to send more men to help clear the barricade. There was no way he could provide security for him and his men as well as move everything out of the way. SFC Dittmyer was the Platoon Sergeant; the man was not a great thinker and a very poor leader. He had decided to send one more squad to help SSG Arroa; why the entire platoon didn t move was lost on SSG Arroa. Once they had cleared the gate everyone was supposed to move through it so why wait. However, SSG Arroa knew it wasn t his job to wonder why the Army did things. His job was to execute his orders to the best of his ability. Second Squad led by SSG Dane moved out of their position in the woods running toward the main gate, down the path and meeting up with first squad. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Thirteen Days vs. the real Cuban Missile Crisis The movie Thirteen Days directed by Roger Donaldson is about the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962. It is often referred to as a docudrama as it is very entertainment oriented but still remains close to the roots of what actually happened. Since it was produced at a later date than many other films portraying the events, Thirteen Days was able to access recently declassified information which helped in attaining a more historically accurate film. Although there were some discrepancies with what happened in real life compared to the film. The year is 1962 and American surveillance planes discover that the USSR is in the process of placing nuclear ballistic missiles in Cuba. The missiles have a said capability to reach 80 million Americans ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was because the appearance of Kenneth O Donnell is much more appealing to the average American. He is the perfect protagonist, just an average middle class American trying to do the right thing. That is why he was given this role and it is understandable why this trade off would be made for entertainment purposes as Thirteen Days is a movie and not a documentary. Another less criticized aspect of the movie veering from 100% historical accuracy is that nothing is said about President Kennedy s interests in ridding Fidel Castro of Cuba but in reality he had been made aware of secret missions into Cuba prior to the Bay of Pigs. As well as approving the Bay of Pigs invasion. During the Bay of Pigs the US tried to pass the invasion off as Cuban defectors and US armed forces had no role in the invasion. President Kennedy even said The armed forces of this country would not intervene in any way. Even though that is of course a blatant lie and the Kennedy Administration helped set up and fund the CRC (Cuban Revolutionary Council) to take over after Fidel s government had been removed. None of President Kennedy s knowledge of this is shown in the film because it would not fit with how Kenneth O Donnell advises him on the subject matter. Both of the previously mentioned deviations from historical accuracy are really relatively minor in the grand scheme of things. The producer went to great lengths to maintain historical ... Support Children And Young People Support children and young people to have positive relationships 1.1 Identify the different relationships children and young people may have There are many different relationships that children develop as they grow, babies know that they cry to get attention from their parent for food or just a cuddle this is the beginning of learning to build relationships. Every child and family are different in how they believe relationships should be made and who children are allowed to talk to or be around so everyone is different when it comes to who they trust or get along with. Relationships children and young people may have are: parental, carer, sibling, family, friendship, emotional, acquaintance and professional. 1.2 Explain the importance of positive relationships for development and wellbeing The quality of relationships that we as practitioners have with children and young people has a huge effect on the way in which we can work with them and help them. When children feel comfortable with us they can separate more easily from their parents, they are more likely to participate in the play and learning activities if they are secure emotionally. When children have a strong relationship they are less likely to show unwanted behaviour as we can recognise and meet their needs, children s language may develop more quickly as they feel confident talking to us. Integrity and ethical behavior: Ethical and responsible decision making is not only important for public relations, but it is also a necessary element in risk management and avoiding lawsuits. Organizations should develop a code of conduct for their directors and executives that promotes ethical and responsible decision making. It is important to understand, though, that reliance by a company on the integrity and ethics of individuals is bound to eventual failure. Because of this, many organizations establish Compliance and Ethics Programs to minimize the risk that the firm steps outside of ethical and legal boundaries. It dominated and had a tremendous control over everyone. They specifically had control over the decision of who goes to Heaven and who goes to Hell therefore creating a sort of fear amongst people who believed that their souls were the most important thing they had and that the only way for their souls to go Heaven was through the church. For this reason exactly, some religious figures started to take advantage of their position knowing how devoted people were to the church. Cross-Cultural Psychology Running head: CROSS CULTURAL PSYCHOLOGY Cross Cultural Psychology Charlene Marasco PSY/450 Sally Fleming March 28, 2011 Cross cultural psychology Cultural psychology is an interdisciplinary program of research that explores the relationship between individual minds and the complex environments in which they are deployed. Methodology in cross cultural psychological studies are the popular methods used by cross cultural psychologists and offers critical proposals about the process of gathering facts and interpreting data in comparative studies(Shiraev amp; Levy, 2010, p.,28). Qualitative research is carrying out mainly in a natural setting, where the research participants carry out their daily activities in a non research atmosphere. Qualitative studies are also conducted when there are difficulties in measuring variables, in situations when the subjects cannot read or use answer scales or when there are no standardized measurement instruments available. Qualitative research is also useful in situations in which variables are not completely conceptualized or operationally defined. The qualitative method can be useful when the experiences and priorities of the research participants heavily influence the research (Shiraev amp; Levy, 2010, p., 29). • 22. Themes Of Love In La Belle Dame Sans Merci How do different Poets express different attitudes to Romantic Marriage in La Belle Dame sans Merci , My Last Duchess and Sonnet 116 By: David Hu The theme and idea of the unforgiving tides of love is presented in a range of ways throughout the poems in the anthology. The poets all choose to build their stories around this subject while each choose to approach this from different perspectives and stances. La Belle Dame sans Merci focuses on the idea of unreciprocated love; reflecting William Keat s personal feud against the pains of love. Balance between the desires and sacrifices of love becomes one of the central ways Keats tries to deliver his message whereas Robert Browning s My Last Duchess is associated with the attitude and theme ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The ballad adopts a unique stanza structure that shortens the last line of every quatrain which creates an abrupt change in rhythm, helping keep the reader focused. The result is the first three lines of every quatrain being written in Iambic tetrameter in which a line contains four feet, with the stress falling upon the first syllable in each pair as opposed to the Iambic dimeter in the fourth line which contains two feet with the stress falling upon the first syllable in each pair for instance, Fast withereth too. , in line 12 . This is intended to help enhance the flow of the poem by forcing the reader to conform to the rhythm. The differentiation in the fourth line is used by Keats to create a feeling of emptiness and suspense. This is used by Keats to emphasize the lovesick and sore feelings of the knight to the reader. In contrast, Robert Browning s My Last Duchess is written in the form of a monologue through Iambic Pentameter. The monologue is one entity divided only by the rhyming couplets. However, the flow and rhyme is partially sacrificed because of there is so much enjambment. Browning uses this format in order to emphasize the themes presented. For instance in line 31, Or blush, at least. She thanked men good! but thanked , where but thanked is a continuation of the phrase she thanked men good . (1) What are the appropriate hurdle rates for each segment of their business? (2) Is the Products and Systems segment underperforming? And (3) How should Teletech respond to the raider Victor Yossarian? Facts and Assumptions Teletech Corporation has two distinct business segments, the more established Telecommunications Services segment, and the recently added Products and Systems segment. The complete list of companies statistics reviewed along with the comparable businesses ( Comps ) selected for use in the analysis can be found in Appendix A. Comps for the Telecommunications Services segment are highlighted in light orange, and the Comps for the Products and Systems segment are highlighted in light blue. Initially statistics (Including Betas, and equity debit ratios) for the Comps was averaged to calculate the individual WACCs. Telecommunications Services Segment Using the Comps we assume a Cost of Equity of 10.81% and a 23.92%: 76.08% Debit Equity ratio. The resulting WACC would be 9.05%. (See Appendix B for the details of the calculation) This is slightly below the current companywide WACC (hurdle rate) of 9.3%. Thus if viewed from this perspective it does appear that if this segment WACC was implemented and managers invested in projects. In practicality however the cost of the various forms of capital for the Telecommunications will likely not change, this is what Helen Buono refers to when she says all money is green . Thus to adjust for the practicality of how the company actually receives funding we assume that the various forms of capital would not change from their present value and recalculate the WACC using only the updated mix of capital from our Comps. The result is a WACC of 9.17% that is both risk adjusted and practical. One important not is that this is currently below corporate hurdle rate and thus if this rate was to be ... Throughout history, problems rarely ended in the places they started. Like the plague, Ebola, WWI/II, communism, the Arab spring, and now the Syrian crisis. The Arab Spring was a series of anti government protests, uprisings, and armed rebellions that spread across the Middle East in early 2011. The Arab spring protest against al Assad s Syrian government in the spring of 2011 evolved into an armed conflict between oppositions and government forces in certain cities and then evolved into a civil war. The Syrian civil war caused the large scale diaspora of Syrian citizens, leading to the Syrian refugee crisis. In most cases, low turnout is attributed to low participation in political issues and the misguided notion that voting in one candidate will have less impact on public policy. In the United States, voter participation keeps on fluctuating which has been an area of concern especially in midterm elections. More specifically, the 2014 midterm election reported the lowest voter participation in a period of more than seven decades. This paper delves into analyzing the reasons for the low voter turnout in 2014 midterm elections in the United States. The paper will also provide recommendations on how voter turnout may be increased in the 2016 general elections. The 2014 midterm voter turnout was considerably low owing to a number of reasons. One possible reason attributed to the low voter turnout is disillusionment with the leading party. Data collected from exit polls indicated that about 54 percent of citizens were opposed to President Barack Obama performance as the president(Ching, 2014). Further, 65% of them viewed the country as headed towards the wrong direction. Most voters were dissatisfied with the Republicans leaders and lacked confidence in the government to do ... The Pros And Cons Of Cognitive Dissonance We, the First Presidency...of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, solemnly proclaim that marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God... This is the opening line in The Family: A Proclamation to the World, given by former President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints (LDS), Gordon B. Hinckley, in September of 1995. This is one of the main doctrines in the LDS faith. In light of the U.S. Supreme Court s ruling regarding the legalization of gay marriage in 2015, these two ideologies, what is socially acceptable versus the standards of the LDS faith, stand contrary to one another. This contradiction causes what is known as cognitive dissonance. Many people have noted that members of the LDS faith have felt this dissonance from society, but what about those people of the LDS faith who identify as LGBT or experience same sex attraction on some level? The more we identify the two things that oppose each other, the greater the cognitive dissonance. I myself am a member of the LDS faith, I also experience same sex attraction (SSA). It is easy for me to find moments in my life where I have felt cognitive dissonance. Cognitive dissonance is the distressing mental state caused by inconsistency between a person s two beliefs (Griffin 2014). So, that should make someone reading this interested, right? Warm Bodies (2013) A zombie love story isn t the most original concept in recent years. Yet, Warm Bodies went deeper with a background into the main zombie character, R. In doing so, the film showed a human element to the undead (thanks largely to Nicholas Hoult s voiceovers) that hasn t been explored in detail in other films. Another interesting twist to the genre was the addition of separate zombie factions. The far deteriorated become the bad guys, along with the humans while those left in the middle are the heroes. It s a classic tale of why extremes are never a good idea. Additionally, clever writing and a cast of solid Hollywood veterans make Warm Bodies more endearing than other out there love stories.
