Comparing Two Different Types Of English Riding
In the competitive world of horseback riding, there are two distinct styles: english and western. Even
though both sports require a horse, there are differences in the equipment you ride in, the type of
horse, and the basics of the sport.
The first difference is the type of equipment used in the sport. When riding, you use a saddle of
course, but saddles are made a hundred different ways for certain types of activity. For example, the
saddle you use. For a barrel racer, which is western, the saddle you use has a longer horn for the
ability to grab it when turning the barrels. The saddle is also heavier and thicker so it allows the barrel
racer to sit deep in the seat when going fast. For a jumper, which is english riding, the saddle has no
horn and is extremely light. The saddle is so light because the horse can jump higher and the only
weight that needs to be on the horse is the rider itself. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Different breeds of horses have different body structures, different speeds, and different temperaments
that fit with the sport they are used in. In all western sports quarter horses are mainly used even
though other types are used. Quarter horses are usually short and have very muscular hindquarters and
they also have the ability to reach top speed at a quarter of a mile, hence the name quarter horse .
Western sports are timed events but the fastest time wins, which is why this short and fast little horse
is used primarily in the western world of horseback riding. If you attend any english riding sport, the
horses you see are usually tall. For example you wouldn t see a short quarter horse in the jumping
arena trying to jump the high jumps. Thoroughbreds are a common breed spotted in the english arena
because of their build. They are quite tall and that also allows them to be used in racing because of
their high

Let s take a look at the cons of using induction cooktops in your kitchen.
A. Cookwares: The main disadvantage of induction cooktops is the cookwares used for cooking. You
can only use a cookware that is magnetic, maybe made of stainless steel or cast iron. Without this,
your induction cooktop will not work.
This could pose a big problem if you only have cookwares made of non magnetic elements like copper
and aluminium.
B. Noise: Sometimes induction cooktops make noise when you use them to cook.
C. Electricity Problems: Induction Cooktops work with electric power supply. So, in situations when
your home doesn t have access to electricity, you won t be able to cook using your induction cooktop.
D. Cost: Induction Cooktops are more expensive when compared to other traditional cooking
appliances. If you are on a tight budget, you might have to settle for a cheap induction cooktop which
might not have all the necessary features you desire.
BUYING GUIDE FOR AN INDUCTION COOKTOP

Swot Analysis Of HUL
1. Soaps and Detergents This segment main driving factor for the revenues of HUL as it contributes
approximately 49 percent of the total revenues. HUL s brands like Lifebuoy, Lux, Liril, Rexona,
Wheel, Surf Excel, Surf, Vim etc. in soaps and detergent have helped the company to dominate the
market and gain a significant position. The major growth drivers in this segment are sales volume and
price of the products. With the collaborative initiatives like Swachh aadat, we expect a rise in
consumption of soaps and detergents segment in rural as well as urban sector. Therefore, we expect
the soaps and detergent market to grow at 18 percent as penetration in rural market is a slow
phenomenon and based on the Historical CAGR of ~ 12 percent we are expecting it to be in line with
it. We have also assumed that this will dominate approximately 40 percent of the total market share. ...

Fair Lovely; Popular Sunsilk, Vaseline, Pepsodent etc across categories like hair care, grooming, oral

income levels and growing demand because of changing lifestyle. Therefore, we expect the growth of
this segment to be at 17 20 percent. As the demands increases, we expect the HUL to charge premium

if I were to someday have a baby? She told me that the best advice she could give me was to take

The Road Not Taken By David Orr Analysis
The existence of poetry as an artform predates literacy itself. Over the course of history, poetry grew
from a verbal form of art, existing mainly in religious hymns, to becoming the universal language of
the heart . The work of William Shakespeare and Edgar Allen Poe, some of the most notable poets of
history, has resonated with generations of Americans. Although they lived in a Pre industrial world,
their work remains powerful because the themes expressed in their artwork can still be applied to
modern society. On the contrary, protruding among this group of ancient poets is Robert Frost, whose
modern work remains just as powerful, shaping generations through his questions of existence, and
depiction of loneliness in an indifferent universe. One of Frost s most celebrated poems: The Road
Not Taken, is influential not only in the literary world, but also within American culture. The poems
subsequent ripple through American life is analyzed by David Orr In his essay The Most Misread
Poem in America. Here, Orr argues that the misread of The Road Not Taken magnifies the underlying
issues in society s understanding of both Frost and poetry as a whole.
In any educational field, there is an inherent gap in knowledge between those trained, and the common
citizen. Orr uses an analysis of the misread of The Road Not Taken to expose this subsequent ample
gap in poetic understanding between poetry educatprs and the rest of American society, when he
states:

My Auntie Yumi s House Was A Place Of Refuge, My Favorite...
My Auntie Yumi s house was a place of refuge, my favorite place. My siblings and I spent a lot of
time there in the years our parents despised each other. We escaped my drunk, avoidant father for the
shade of the century old plumeria tree in Auntie Yumi s front yard. We recoiled from my mother s
violent, hate filled outbursts by retreating to Auntie Yumi s kitchen, where the screenless windows
welcomed cool breezes and feather light drizzle, and the smell of the mosquito punk smoldering under
the kitchen table was like a balm to our bruised minds.
Nearly half of all marriages in the United States end in divorce, but there s still a lot of stigma
surrounding post divorce parents and children. My parents prolonged their tumultuous relationship in
a misguided attempt to maintain a stable environment for their children, but our home life was
anything but stable. This resulted in my siblings and me living in an unhealthy environment that
caused more trauma than a divorce would have. It was my childhood mentor who helped me come to
grips with the guilt and shame associated with my parents breakup and embrace a different, but
healthier, family dynamic.
My Auntie Yumi, my other mother, is my best friend s mom. Petite, with sparkling upturned eyes, a
lilting Japanese accent, coarse graying hair cut short, and skin turned a dark caramel by days working
in the garden and tending to the animals on her little homestead, she is a life long learner who in her
forties picked up

Fad Diet Essay
FAD Diets A fad diet is a diet that promises fast weight loss through unhealthy and unbalanced meals,
they are targeted for people who manly want to lose fat without exercising and it s not good for your
body. There are many types of fad diets and i m gonna start with one the the most dangerous, the
tapeworm diet. The tapeworm diet was created by Dr. Meyers of Sheffield and it started to be
advertised in the early 1900 s. During the process of this diet, you are digesting tapeworm eggs and it
grows in your stomach and basically crawls around eating all the food you have consumed and you are
losing weight at the same time. This can be very dangerous because it could go to other parts of your
body through the blood system and can cause abdominal pain, weakness, headache, nausea, diarrhoea,
constipation, bloating and even death. To me it is totally disgusting and just not worth it. The
tapeworm diet is thankfully illegal in the US and you usually get the tapeworm eggs in a bottle
commonly found in Mexico for $1500. Back then they were usually advertised using posters saying
No diet, no baths, no exercise. FAT the enemy that is shortening your life BANISHED. How? With
sanitized tapeworms jar packed This whole diet is called unhealthy for many reasons, it is extremely
risky, after the tapeworm is gone people are most likely going to gain all the weight back they lost
because of unhealthy eating habits, you are not eating healthy or exercising so it s not good for your

Equal opportunities to all people prevent discrimination and social stigma, especially to individuals
with disabilities. Creating a policy to safeguard the welfare of this extraordinary group of people is
vital in the promotion of their well being. For citizens with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities

purpose of this essay, the emphasis will be on the intellectual and developmental disabilities act and

The purpose of the bill is to provide support to people with disabilities, in order for them to function
independently in the community and to preserve their rights as a citizen of this country, as well as
reducing the impact of poverty and aiding the procurement of various supports and services, including
vocational training, case management, and family support services (Keesler, 2015, p. 42).
In a socioeconomic standpoint, the passage of the bill encourages some financial relief for the families
with disabled members as they are vulnerable to various disparities. However, people with disabilities
still continue to experience an array of disadvantages, whether in economic, health, and social
outcomes, including food security (Brucker, 2016). In the ethical political perspective, the bill protects
the fundamental right of people with disability to be able to function and participate independently as
much as they can, as well as protecting their rights to participate in a research and be accurately
presented (Durham, Brolan, Mukandi, 2014). Encouraging to voice out the concerns of this group of

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Global Funding Institutions
Global funding institutions such the World Bank and the IMF play a significant role in the economic
and business enhancement of developing countries. These organizations provide funds to assist
developmental programs and projects in developing and already developed countries. The World
Bank, along with IMF funds vital and fundamental projects in crucial areas. They funds things like
free education, subsidized health care through insurance covers and provide relief for these nations in
times of great economic crisis (Tulchinsky Varavikova, 2009). However, researchers have listed a lot
of disadvantages associated with these two international funding institutions.
According to Tulchinsky and Varavikova (2009), there is a lot of evidence to be viewed as important
examples of the effects of the World Bank and the IMF Funding on economic areas. Studies have
shown that IMF has established a corrupt system implying neocolonialism that seeks to expose the
developing nations for the benefit of the rich developed countries. The IMF has placed the economy in
a state of environmental destruction. The developed countries account for the highest amount of
harmful and toxic environmental emissions (Lee, 2005). China, United States, Canada and Japan
being part of the developed nations stand a better chance of economic survival and proliferation due to
the lenient policies favoring its existence.

European Union Pros And Cons
Discuss the benefits of the European Union (EU) for its member states. Does the recent financial and
debt crisis provide arguments against regional economic integration?
The European Union
The European union is an integrated system featuring some if not most of the countries in Europe. It is
an economic and political agreement between the European member states that binds countries
together through treaties, which have been signed by every country in the union. It was established
back in the 1950s but, back then it only featured 19 countries in comparison to now when it features
28.
For the countries featured in The European Union, there are several benefits the country and its
citizens incur. These include, free mobility between member states as you can work, study and travel
wherever you please within the European union. Also, as per occupytheory.org, over 3.5 million jobs
have been created for the 320 million European citizens just over the last few years. However, not all
their policies are effective as we saw with the common agricultural policy that led to the increase in
price and oversupply of goods. Although this is a negative, the European union still manages to
maintain integration through the development of deprived regions. This is done by the other member
states helping to improve countries which aren t as developed as them, this is done through the
European Structural Fund .
Following on from this the EU has a large variety of benefits towards it member

The Current State Consists Of Fragmented Processes
The current state consists of fragmented processes, which is the source of all productivity issues and
inefficiency in the construction industry. The future state should be project focused rather than process
focused . To achieve this desired future state it is essential that these processes are transformed to a
more integrated approach. There should be better collaboration between the different stakeholders in
the industry such as architects, builders, owners and regulatory agencies that issues permits. In the
current, traditional system of project delivery, the relationship between these involved parties are
adversarial. This can lead to the project being marred with schedule delays, budget overruns, poor
quality, and disputes and litigations between the parties involved, as they play the blame game
refusing to take liability or responsibility for the different processes. The desired future state can be
reached through incorporating the more collaborative delivery methods that are gaining popularity,
like Design Build and Integrated Project Delivery. These systems are based on information and risk
sharing. IPD especially has a potential to incorporate Lean Construction practices and Target Value
Design in the process. The alliance of the owner, builder, design professional and other specialty
consultants for the project, can communicate effectively with each other on a common platform of
knowledge sharing. Problems that may arise during construction or design

Women In King Arthur s Knights Of The Round Table
The Woman s Image So much for equality. In King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table by
Roger Lacelyn Green, women are evil, seductive temptresses, and liars.
First of all, women in this version of the story are depicted as evil. Give me the head of this knight
who but now drew the sword which the damsel brought. . . . Evil woman! he cried (p. 25). In this
quote, the Lady of the Lake is demanding the he ad of Sir Balyn because King Arthur owes her a

Potential Explanations Paper
Potential Explanations
US Israeli relations often appear to focus on America s ability to enforce its sphere of influence in
Israel by its diplomatic and monetary utility. Since 1976, Israel has been the most exponential annual
recipient of US aid and the largest recipient of cumulative US assistance since World War II. The US
had provided over 95% of economic development assistance and food aid to Israel, totaling to roughly
$68 million per year between the years of 1949 and 1965. From 1966 through 1970 aid increased to
about $102 million to include an estimated military loan increase of 47%. From 1971 to the present,
US aid to Israel has averaged over $2 billion per year; two thirds of which has been military assistance
(Sharp,2015). The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Prospect theory may help explain these anomalies. This theory provides a framework for the
evaluation of alternative choices made by individuals, firms and organizations. The first case to be
examined is the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in 1982 which is exemplary of Israel s occasional
nonconformity to US requests. In summary, Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) invaded Lebanon despite
President Reagan s execution of a cease fire. This act of non compliance beckons the question, why
did Israel accept the risk of having sanctions imposed on them by their primary financier? Or why
didn t the US influence over Israel manifest favorable actions for the US? There is potential for an
explanation by applying the Prospect theory model to the Invasion of Lebanon case study. Israel
initially complied with President Reagan s cease fire initiative until Israel constructed a perception
that benefits would accrue from engaging the perceived threat of the enemy. Israel believed that while
the cease fire was implemented the PLO were strengthening themselves while they, Israel, was
faltering (losses) under the cease fire restrictions. Israel evaluated two alternative choices, the first
choice was to continue compliance with the US cease fire initiative or alternatively, to disregard the

American Prisons And Justice System
One simple question asked by many familiar with the American prison system is Is it Effective? The
word effectiveness can take on many meanings such as cost effective or effective in reducing
recidivism. Recidivism, according to Merriam Webster dictionary, is the tendency to relapse into a
previous condition or mode of behavior; especially: relapse into criminal behavior . In the United
States, the time of relapse into criminal behavior has been measured by as much as 8 years by the
Bureau of Justice. It is the belief of many professionals and experts that American prisons are both
cost ineffective, and ineffective in reducing recidivism rates. The focus of American prisons and
justice system is primarily to punish the criminal. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This may be a bleak revelation and to many it would not be considered a surprising statistic. But, there
is a flip side. The flip side is that 23.4% of ex offenders reformed themselves. Lumping lawbreakers
into a correctional facility won t help all of them, but it will rehabilitate some of them a lot (Bozelko,
Chandra 2017). Nearly a quarter of inmates discharged from prison were reformed. This is taking into
account the lack of rehabilitation and education programs, living conditions, and safety provided in
current private or state prison facilities. So without directly and purposely focusing on improving
inmates so when released into society, they are a productive member of the working class, a
respectable twenty five percent are changed for the better. These results are arguably satisfactory
because of the annual cost to the taxpayer but nonetheless, they prove that inmates can indeed change
for the better. We can begin to examine if the cost outweigh the benefits or results given the recidivism
rate. Given the recidivism statistics, we can examine the current American conditions in prison
facilities that produce these results. Many Americans are aware of the living conditions, crime, and
lack of treatment and security in current prison. In

Private Education Vs. Public Education
It is often said that private education is superior to public education. I attended a private Christian
school from grades Kindergarten through eighth. My father believed a private education would be the
best option for me. Our class sizes were very small. Each grade level had around forty students, but
we were split equally into two individual classes. The majority of the eighth grade class consisted of
the same students that we started Kindergarten with. We had grown up together and helped one
another grow. A few months into my eighth grade year, I transferred into a public middle school.
Although I attended a costly private school, my family was considered to be living under the poverty
line. The other parents who sent their children to this school were typically professionals who were
much wealthier. Throughout the years there were many activities that I wanted to participate in, but
couldn t afford to. These activities included: band, choir, sports, and girl scouts. This made me the
student who didn t necessarily fit in. My classmates often attributed my noninvolvement to me being
weird and stopped hanging out with me. It appeared that after nine years, I was eventually left out of
everything. Around seventh grade, I started being bullied by the students that I had spent my entire
educational career with.
When my grandpa picked me up from school one chilly day in eighth grade, I told him I wasn t going

He is a strong, ruthless and at the beginning of the film he is seen as young, handsome, short, and thin
with bronze toned skin and black eyes. He dressed in a conservative manner with the traditional outfits
of a king. His hair was short and black, swept neatly to one side of his face. He has strong facial
features. However, later in the film, he is seen as fat; with hair loss and less predominate facial

His traditional and authoritative nature leads to his rejection of Lollita. She is everything he is against

The Pros And Cons Of Big Pharmaceutical Companies
Should the general public trust their doctors? Well, the answer should be of course, but unfortunately,
the public cannot always trust the doctors caring for them, at least in terms of the medicines they
prescribe. This is because of the Big Pharma industry whose corruption has come to take over much of
the medical and political worlds as we know it. Big Pharma is the make up of the largest
pharmaceutical corporations in the world, who control nearly all of the world s prescription drug
production and manufacturing. What these corporations do is take short cuts and manipulate their tests
in order to achieve the results they want and to fit FDA regulations. They then dive their way into the
medical world through medical journals and doctors ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, Big Pharma must be more heavily regulated to ensure the well being of patients because
these companies are controlling and negatively affecting the medical. First off, Big Pharma has a huge
influence over the medical world and this has proved harmful to this industry for many reasons. Big
Pharma companies have bought their way into the world of regularly used medications despite all the
baggage they carry. Even with using many forms of bribery, the $310 billion pharmaceutical industry
quietly buys something far more influential than anything they have to offer to the physicians they
work with, and that is the contents of medical journals and, all too often, the trajectory of medical
research itself (Washington 1). By buying their way into medical journals, these pharmaceutical
companies buy the ability to advertise their products to thousands of physicians, even if these products
have never been properly tested. This can be very misleading when a product, which may be very
ineffective or even dangerous, is advertised in a very credible medical journal solely because the
journal is heavily dependent on the profits attained from advertising for the company. In a 1992, for
example, editors from the medical journal Annals of Internal

Wonderland Insane
In Lewis Carroll s story Alice s Adventures in Wonderland, the character Alice stumbles upon a world
called Wonderland upon her curiosity. As she makes her trip around Wonderland, she goes on a
journey to find herself because she is not sure who she is after entering the world, and she is not sure
how she fits in this new world or her old one. While she is figuring out her own place in Wonderland s
society, she meets a series of characters who interact and attempt to change her perspective on life. By
using Alice and these characters, Carroll offers readers his own critique on the way society functions
and how it is structured. Although all of Carroll s characters are considered insane, they all have
different perspectives on how the world ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Alice and the the other creatures within the world of Wonderland mimic the ideas of society and their
many flaws. Carroll uses many scenes within his story to provide roles for each and every character,
so they could personify characters in the real world. In many instances Alice attempts to understand
these individuals living within the world they call Wonderland. But like any other, Alice finds the
differences between them to be too great and rejects them just like how people in the real world reject
the ideas of others based on how they were raised. Alice even though she is a fresh young mind, she
still already has nurtured ideals within her and it prevents her from learning from these character s
flaws. If Alice could understand that these flaws were a projection of the issues in today s world, she
could understand how Carroll s characters are a perfect representation of today s

The Value Of Immigrants By Danielle Muhammad
Final Project: The Value of Immigrants
Danielle Muhammad
ENG325 Intermediate Composition
Donald Olsen
August 14, 2017 Final Project: The Value of Immigrants
Immigration has, and continues to be, one of the most contentious issues in the United States (U.S.).
While some see immigrants as opportunistic thieves, others view them as enormous economy
boosters. Immigrants foreign born individuals often have to deal with the negative outcomes of anti
immigrant policies. These exclusionary laws not only increase racial prejudice but also make foreign
born individuals feel less valuable than their native born counterparts. The laws to some extent also
justify the unequal treatment of immigrants (Almeida et al., 2016). Immigrants also ... Show more

In 2007, 5.9 million individuals worked in immigrant owned organizations. Almost every state had
over a hundred thousand natives employed in immigrant owned firms with California recording 1.5
million workers (New American Economy, 2016). These firms have created revenues of over $4.8
trillion and provided work for 18.9 million people worldwide in 2014 alone. Researchers have often
claimed that were American Fortune 500 companies to make up a country, their revenues would make
rank them as the third highest gross domestic product (GDP) in the world. As consumers, immigrants
create jobs by spending their salaries on products and services provided by companies in the U.S.
Consequently, this helps in sustaining the jobs of employees in those firms. Also, whenever immigrant
workers increase in a particular region, investors build new stores and restaurants, thus increasing job
opportunities.
In the past, an increase in the population of immigrants resulted in reduced wages for native born
workers in the U.S. Studies carried out by scholars indicate that a one percent rise in foreign born
individuals led to reduction in the earnings of artisans and unskilled workers (Abramitzky Boustan,
2016). However, recent studies have shown that the immigrant population brings more value to the
native born worker wage than harm. The foreign born workers typically possess a variety of skills and

The Irony Of The Sinner
While traveling through Hell, Dante the pilgrim encountered numerous sinners on each level, all
prepared to tell their tales of misfortune and transgression. However, though some ask Dante to
remember them or tell their stories on Earth, most of them speak for their own gain, not simply to
educate Dante on the penalties of their sins. Each sinner appears to wallow in the past, isolating
themselves in their sin and occasionally ignoring Dante as a person entirely. Even when these sinners
find themselves physically trapped together with another soul, they remain lonely and miserable in
their suffering: they have deprived themselves of the forgiveness and love God offered them and now
must find something else to love. As they have rejected God, these sinners still seek to fill that void of
emptiness to which they have forever condemned themselves. In Dante Alighieri s Inferno, the irony
of the sinner s contrappaso reflects the irony that, even in the suffering they have brought upon
themselves, they have a misplaced love in their sin in place of the love God offered them.
In Canto V, Dante encounters the Francesca and Paulo, who have thrown away their chance for heaven
for one another, yet enjoyed the action of sinning itself more then each other s company. As soon as
Dante the pilgrim comes upon the pair, Francesca relates the tale of their sin, explaining how this one,
who never shall be parted from me, while all his body trembled, kissed my mouth....that day we read

First Appearance In A Christmas Memory By Truman Capote
A First Appearance In the short story, A Christmas Memory, written by Truman Capote, imagery and
similes are often used by the author to convey the theme of human nature to judge people based on
first appearances. For instance, Buddy s friend is sixty something and with the author s first
description of her, a majority of people would immediately conceive her character as someone who is
stodgy. Moreover, in the beginning of the story, the author describes Buddy s friend as, small and
sprightly, like a bantam hen; but due to a long youthful illness, her shoulders are pitifully hunched (1).
At first glance of reading this quote, the use of imagery would cause people to believe that Buddy s
friend is similar to one s grandmother; a regular

Early Years Foundation Stage Analysis
According to Moylett and Stewart s (2012) Development Matters in the Early Years Foundation Stage,
the child observed indicated almost every area of learning and development. They successfully met all
of the prime areas which are: personal, social and emotional development; physical development and
communication and language (Moylett and Stewart, 2012, Neville, 2012 and Foundation Years, 2012,
2015). The first prime area that was observed was personal, social and emotional development. One
example of this was the relationship between the child and the babysitter. As the child has a secure
relationship with the babysitter where they had felt safe, they were able to explore unfamiliar tasks
knowing that they had support (Neville, 2012). This

Fair Minded Critical Thinking Skills
Query 2: The intellectual virtues that are necessary to develop fair minded critical thinking skills, are
integrity, autonomy, empathy, courage, confidence in reason, humility, sense of justice, perseverance.
Fair mindedness is to commence to practice and respect others viewpoints and willing to listen to
others. Fair minded people set their tone and views aside to give others respect and not using their
thinking to control others. (Richard, 2012) Fair minded treats all thinking by the same high standards
and will commit to live a real and caring life. Often fair minded people do not look at theirself but
look at others to see how their behavior affects other people. There are times a fair minded person

Mass Media And Mass Shootings
Since people are mostly only able to participate in catastrophes such as this mass shooting at a
distance, news media is the primary source of information, which therefore creates the audiences
reality of the events that occur.(Wheeler 80) With this, the mass media has the control of what people
are exposed to, and the choice to amplify awareness to what they choose as important. In an interview
conducted with Sarah, an undergraduate student at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, she recalled
her exposure to the news of the shooting: The only reports I had access to, was what I saw in the news
. When asked how she thinks the media had an effect on her perception of the shooting, she stated:
Well I believe that since the only information I was able to get was from news sources, what I saw in
the news is what I believed. So I really do think the media had a strong effect since I was exposed to
mainly what they chose to present to me. With this, media messages, such as the reporting on the Las
Vegas shooting, exert a strong influence on audiences and the cultivation of people s perception. The
frequent exposure to these stories of mass shootings and the use of descriptors based on race are fed to
the audience and become a common knowledge. Ultimately, the promotion of racial stereotypes
through the disproportionate representation of perpetrators of mass shootings influences public
opinion and perception.(Lankford) With the strong effect that media has on the people, it is

Investigation of in vitro and in vivo antifungal activity of different plant acetonic extracts against
fungal skin isolates
ABSTRACT
T he worldwide increase of multidrug resistance has impaired the current antimicrobial therapy,
warranting the search for other alternatives.This study investigated the efficacy of using plant extracts;
Lawsonia inermis L(Henna), Glycyrrhiza glabra L(licorice) and Rosmarinus officinalis L (Rosemary)
as antifungal agents.Antifungal susceptibility test revealed that nystatin were mostly active against
tested clinical isolates. In vitro antifungal activity of the different plant extracts against isolates
showed that acetonic extract of licorice, had high antifungal activity. In vivo study, topical application
of licorice gave promising and excellent healing response. We propose that the higher percentage of
(GC MS) of 3 O Methyl d glucose 29.1 %, most probably are the causes of its higher antifungal
activity.
INTRODUCTION
Fungal and bacterial skin infections are of public health concern as they can elicit social, economic
and public health problem (Maseleno and Hasan, 2013). Heavily infected persons with visible lesions
are often unconscious targets of social stigma of rejection isolation because of their unslightly
appearance. The cost of long term diagnosis and treatment can be over bearing for low income
individuals who make up the bulk of developing countries where these infections occur in epidemic
proportions due to poor hygiene. It

Stuhlinger Argument Essay
Similar to the first source from NASA, Ernst Stuhlinger, then the Associate Director of Science at
NASA, responded to this question personally by writing a long detailed letter in 1970. In his letter,
Stuhlinger speaks of how he believes that space exploration in the long run, will contribute more to
the solution of these grave problems we are facing here on earth today. In addition, Stuhlinger uses
logistical data by explaining how the United States use around 200 billion dollars a year and how only
1.6% of this national budget was allocated to space exploration this year. If this was to be put in the
current time period, then space exploration would only be using 0.52 % of the national budget 3.

  • 2. Comparing Two Different Types Of English Riding In the competitive world of horseback riding, there are two distinct styles: english and western. Even though both sports require a horse, there are differences in the equipment you ride in, the type of horse, and the basics of the sport. The first difference is the type of equipment used in the sport. When riding, you use a saddle of course, but saddles are made a hundred different ways for certain types of activity. For example, the saddle you use. For a barrel racer, which is western, the saddle you use has a longer horn for the ability to grab it when turning the barrels. The saddle is also heavier and thicker so it allows the barrel racer to sit deep in the seat when going fast. For a jumper, which is english riding, the saddle has no horn and is extremely light. The saddle is so light because the horse can jump higher and the only weight that needs to be on the horse is the rider itself. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Different breeds of horses have different body structures, different speeds, and different temperaments that fit with the sport they are used in. In all western sports quarter horses are mainly used even though other types are used. Quarter horses are usually short and have very muscular hindquarters and they also have the ability to reach top speed at a quarter of a mile, hence the name quarter horse . Western sports are timed events but the fastest time wins, which is why this short and fast little horse is used primarily in the western world of horseback riding. If you attend any english riding sport, the horses you see are usually tall. For example you wouldn t see a short quarter horse in the jumping arena trying to jump the high jumps. Thoroughbreds are a common breed spotted in the english arena because of their build. They are quite tall and that also allows them to be used in racing because of their high ... • 6. The Road Not Taken By David Orr Analysis The existence of poetry as an artform predates literacy itself. Over the course of history, poetry grew from a verbal form of art, existing mainly in religious hymns, to becoming the universal language of the heart . The work of William Shakespeare and Edgar Allen Poe, some of the most notable poets of history, has resonated with generations of Americans. Although they lived in a Pre industrial world, their work remains powerful because the themes expressed in their artwork can still be applied to modern society. On the contrary, protruding among this group of ancient poets is Robert Frost, whose modern work remains just as powerful, shaping generations through his questions of existence, and depiction of loneliness in an indifferent universe. One of Frost s most celebrated poems: The Road Not Taken, is influential not only in the literary world, but also within American culture. The poems subsequent ripple through American life is analyzed by David Orr In his essay The Most Misread Poem in America. Here, Orr argues that the misread of The Road Not Taken magnifies the underlying issues in society s understanding of both Frost and poetry as a whole. In any educational field, there is an inherent gap in knowledge between those trained, and the common citizen. Orr uses an analysis of the misread of The Road Not Taken to expose this subsequent ample gap in poetic understanding between poetry educatprs and the rest of American society, when he states: The first audience is ... • 7. My Auntie Yumi s House Was A Place Of Refuge, My Favorite... My Auntie Yumi s house was a place of refuge, my favorite place. My siblings and I spent a lot of time there in the years our parents despised each other. We escaped my drunk, avoidant father for the shade of the century old plumeria tree in Auntie Yumi s front yard. We recoiled from my mother s violent, hate filled outbursts by retreating to Auntie Yumi s kitchen, where the screenless windows welcomed cool breezes and feather light drizzle, and the smell of the mosquito punk smoldering under the kitchen table was like a balm to our bruised minds. Nearly half of all marriages in the United States end in divorce, but there s still a lot of stigma surrounding post divorce parents and children. My parents prolonged their tumultuous relationship in a misguided attempt to maintain a stable environment for their children, but our home life was anything but stable. This resulted in my siblings and me living in an unhealthy environment that caused more trauma than a divorce would have. It was my childhood mentor who helped me come to grips with the guilt and shame associated with my parents breakup and embrace a different, but healthier, family dynamic. My Auntie Yumi, my other mother, is my best friend s mom. Petite, with sparkling upturned eyes, a lilting Japanese accent, coarse graying hair cut short, and skin turned a dark caramel by days working in the garden and tending to the animals on her little homestead, she is a life long learner who in her forties picked up ... • 8. Fad Diet Essay FAD Diets A fad diet is a diet that promises fast weight loss through unhealthy and unbalanced meals, they are targeted for people who manly want to lose fat without exercising and it s not good for your body. There are many types of fad diets and i m gonna start with one the the most dangerous, the tapeworm diet. The tapeworm diet was created by Dr. Meyers of Sheffield and it started to be advertised in the early 1900 s. During the process of this diet, you are digesting tapeworm eggs and it grows in your stomach and basically crawls around eating all the food you have consumed and you are losing weight at the same time. This can be very dangerous because it could go to other parts of your body through the blood system and can cause abdominal pain, weakness, headache, nausea, diarrhoea, constipation, bloating and even death. To me it is totally disgusting and just not worth it. The tapeworm diet is thankfully illegal in the US and you usually get the tapeworm eggs in a bottle commonly found in Mexico for $1500. Back then they were usually advertised using posters saying No diet, no baths, no exercise. FAT the enemy that is shortening your life BANISHED. How? With sanitized tapeworms jar packed This whole diet is called unhealthy for many reasons, it is extremely risky, after the tapeworm is gone people are most likely going to gain all the weight back they lost because of unhealthy eating habits, you are not eating healthy or exercising so it s not good for your ... For the purpose of this essay, the emphasis will be on the intellectual and developmental disabilities act and addressing their need to sustain healthy and active lives by nourishing the basic necessity, the physiologic needs of the person. In a socioeconomic standpoint, the passage of the bill encourages some financial relief for the families with disabled members as they are vulnerable to various disparities. However, people with disabilities still continue to experience an array of disadvantages, whether in economic, health, and social outcomes, including food security (Brucker, 2016). In the ethical political perspective, the bill protects the fundamental right of people with disability to be able to function and participate independently as much as they can, as well as protecting their rights to participate in a research and be accurately presented (Durham, Brolan, Mukandi, 2014). • 11. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Global Funding Institutions Global funding institutions such the World Bank and the IMF play a significant role in the economic and business enhancement of developing countries. These organizations provide funds to assist developmental programs and projects in developing and already developed countries. The World Bank, along with IMF funds vital and fundamental projects in crucial areas. They funds things like free education, subsidized health care through insurance covers and provide relief for these nations in times of great economic crisis (Tulchinsky Varavikova, 2009). However, researchers have listed a lot of disadvantages associated with these two international funding institutions. According to Tulchinsky and Varavikova (2009), there is a lot of evidence to be viewed as important examples of the effects of the World Bank and the IMF Funding on economic areas. Studies have shown that IMF has established a corrupt system implying neocolonialism that seeks to expose the developing nations for the benefit of the rich developed countries. The IMF has placed the economy in a state of environmental destruction. The developed countries account for the highest amount of harmful and toxic environmental emissions (Lee, 2005). • 12. European Union Pros And Cons Discuss the benefits of the European Union (EU) for its member states. Does the recent financial and debt crisis provide arguments against regional economic integration? The European Union The European union is an integrated system featuring some if not most of the countries in Europe. It is an economic and political agreement between the European member states that binds countries together through treaties, which have been signed by every country in the union. It was established back in the 1950s but, back then it only featured 19 countries in comparison to now when it features 28. For the countries featured in The European Union, there are several benefits the country and its citizens incur. These include, free mobility between member states as you can work, study and travel wherever you please within the European union. Also, as per occupytheory.org, over 3.5 million jobs have been created for the 320 million European citizens just over the last few years. However, not all their policies are effective as we saw with the common agricultural policy that led to the increase in price and oversupply of goods. Although this is a negative, the European union still manages to maintain integration through the development of deprived regions. This is done by the other member states helping to improve countries which aren t as developed as them, this is done through the European Structural Fund . • 13. The Current State Consists Of Fragmented Processes The current state consists of fragmented processes, which is the source of all productivity issues and inefficiency in the construction industry. The future state should be project focused rather than process focused . To achieve this desired future state it is essential that these processes are transformed to a more integrated approach. There should be better collaboration between the different stakeholders in the industry such as architects, builders, owners and regulatory agencies that issues permits. In the current, traditional system of project delivery, the relationship between these involved parties are adversarial. This can lead to the project being marred with schedule delays, budget overruns, poor quality, and disputes and litigations between the parties involved, as they play the blame game refusing to take liability or responsibility for the different processes. The desired future state can be reached through incorporating the more collaborative delivery methods that are gaining popularity, like Design Build and Integrated Project Delivery. These systems are based on information and risk sharing. IPD especially has a potential to incorporate Lean Construction practices and Target Value Design in the process. The alliance of the owner, builder, design professional and other specialty consultants for the project, can communicate effectively with each other on a common platform of knowledge sharing. • 14. Women In King Arthur s Knights Of The Round Table The Woman s Image So much for equality. In King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table by Roger Lacelyn Green, women are evil, seductive temptresses, and liars. First of all, women in this version of the story are depicted as evil. Give me the head of this knight who but now drew the sword which the damsel brought. . . . Evil woman! he cried (p. 25). In this quote, the Lady of the Lake is demanding the he ad of Sir Balyn because King Arthur owes her a favor. • 15. Potential Explanations Paper Potential Explanations US Israeli relations often appear to focus on America s ability to enforce its sphere of influence in Israel by its diplomatic and monetary utility. Since 1976, Israel has been the most exponential annual recipient of US aid and the largest recipient of cumulative US assistance since World War II. The US had provided over 95% of economic development assistance and food aid to Israel, totaling to roughly $68 million per year between the years of 1949 and 1965. From 1966 through 1970 aid increased to about $102 million to include an estimated military loan increase of 47%. From 1971 to the present, US aid to Israel has averaged over $2 billion per year; two thirds of which has been military assistance (Sharp,2015). The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Prospect theory may help explain these anomalies. This theory provides a framework for the evaluation of alternative choices made by individuals, firms and organizations. The first case to be examined is the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in 1982 which is exemplary of Israel s occasional nonconformity to US requests. In summary, Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) invaded Lebanon despite President Reagan s execution of a cease fire. This act of non compliance beckons the question, why did Israel accept the risk of having sanctions imposed on them by their primary financier? Or why didn t the US influence over Israel manifest favorable actions for the US? There is potential for an explanation by applying the Prospect theory model to the Invasion of Lebanon case study. Israel initially complied with President Reagan s cease fire initiative until Israel constructed a perception that benefits would accrue from engaging the perceived threat of the enemy. Israel believed that while the cease fire was implemented the PLO were strengthening themselves while they, Israel, was faltering (losses) under the cease fire restrictions. Israel evaluated two alternative choices, the first choice was to continue compliance with the US cease fire initiative or alternatively, to disregard the cease ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 16. American Prisons And Justice System One simple question asked by many familiar with the American prison system is Is it Effective? The word effectiveness can take on many meanings such as cost effective or effective in reducing recidivism. Recidivism, according to Merriam Webster dictionary, is the tendency to relapse into a previous condition or mode of behavior; especially: relapse into criminal behavior . In the United States, the time of relapse into criminal behavior has been measured by as much as 8 years by the Bureau of Justice. It is the belief of many professionals and experts that American prisons are both cost ineffective, and ineffective in reducing recidivism rates. This may be a bleak revelation and to many it would not be considered a surprising statistic. But, there is a flip side. The flip side is that 23.4% of ex offenders reformed themselves. Lumping lawbreakers into a correctional facility won t help all of them, but it will rehabilitate some of them a lot (Bozelko, Chandra 2017). Nearly a quarter of inmates discharged from prison were reformed. This is taking into account the lack of rehabilitation and education programs, living conditions, and safety provided in current private or state prison facilities. So without directly and purposely focusing on improving inmates so when released into society, they are a productive member of the working class, a respectable twenty five percent are changed for the better. These results are arguably satisfactory because of the annual cost to the taxpayer but nonetheless, they prove that inmates can indeed change for the better. We can begin to examine if the cost outweigh the benefits or results given the recidivism rate. Given the recidivism statistics, we can examine the current American conditions in prison facilities that produce these results. • 17. Private Education Vs. Public Education It is often said that private education is superior to public education. I attended a private Christian school from grades Kindergarten through eighth. My father believed a private education would be the best option for me. Our class sizes were very small. Each grade level had around forty students, but we were split equally into two individual classes. The majority of the eighth grade class consisted of the same students that we started Kindergarten with. We had grown up together and helped one another grow. A few months into my eighth grade year, I transferred into a public middle school. Although I attended a costly private school, my family was considered to be living under the poverty line. The other parents who sent their children to this school were typically professionals who were much wealthier. Throughout the years there were many activities that I wanted to participate in, but couldn t afford to. These activities included: band, choir, sports, and girl scouts. This made me the student who didn t necessarily fit in. My classmates often attributed my noninvolvement to me being weird and stopped hanging out with me. It appeared that after nine years, I was eventually left out of everything. Around seventh grade, I started being bullied by the students that I had spent my entire educational career with. When my grandpa picked me up from school one chilly day in eighth grade, I told him I wasn t going back to that school. The bullying had been going on for over a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Well, the answer should be of course, but unfortunately, the public cannot always trust the doctors caring for them, at least in terms of the medicines they prescribe. Big Pharma is the make up of the largest pharmaceutical corporations in the world, who control nearly all of the world s prescription drug production and manufacturing. First off, Big Pharma has a huge influence over the medical world and this has proved harmful to this industry for many reasons. Big Pharma companies have bought their way into the world of regularly used medications despite all the baggage they carry. Even with using many forms of bribery, the $310 billion pharmaceutical industry quietly buys something far more influential than anything they have to offer to the physicians they work with, and that is the contents of medical journals and, all too often, the trajectory of medical research itself (Washington 1). By buying their way into medical journals, these pharmaceutical companies buy the ability to advertise their products to thousands of physicians, even if these products have never been properly tested. This can be very misleading when a product, which may be very ineffective or even dangerous, is advertised in a very credible medical journal solely because the journal is heavily dependent on the profits attained from advertising for the company. As consumers, immigrants create jobs by spending their salaries on products and services provided by companies in the U.S. Consequently, this helps in sustaining the jobs of employees in those firms. Also, whenever immigrant workers increase in a particular region, investors build new stores and restaurants, thus increasing job opportunities. In the past, an increase in the population of immigrants resulted in reduced wages for native born workers in the U.S. Studies carried out by scholars indicate that a one percent rise in foreign born individuals led to reduction in the earnings of artisans and unskilled workers (Abramitzky Boustan, 2016). • 26. The Irony Of The Sinner While traveling through Hell, Dante the pilgrim encountered numerous sinners on each level, all prepared to tell their tales of misfortune and transgression. However, though some ask Dante to remember them or tell their stories on Earth, most of them speak for their own gain, not simply to educate Dante on the penalties of their sins. Each sinner appears to wallow in the past, isolating themselves in their sin and occasionally ignoring Dante as a person entirely. Even when these sinners find themselves physically trapped together with another soul, they remain lonely and miserable in their suffering: they have deprived themselves of the forgiveness and love God offered them and now must find something else to love. As they have rejected God, these sinners still seek to fill that void of emptiness to which they have forever condemned themselves. In Dante Alighieri s Inferno, the irony of the sinner s contrappaso reflects the irony that, even in the suffering they have brought upon themselves, they have a misplaced love in their sin in place of the love God offered them. In Canto V, Dante encounters the Francesca and Paulo, who have thrown away their chance for heaven for one another, yet enjoyed the action of sinning itself more then each other s company. In an interview conducted with Sarah, an undergraduate student at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, she recalled her exposure to the news of the shooting: The only reports I had access to, was what I saw in the news . When asked how she thinks the media had an effect on her perception of the shooting, she stated: Well I believe that since the only information I was able to get was from news sources, what I saw in the news is what I believed. So I really do think the media had a strong effect since I was exposed to mainly what they chose to present to me. With this, media messages, such as the reporting on the Las Vegas shooting, exert a strong influence on audiences and the cultivation of people s perception. The frequent exposure to these stories of mass shootings and the use of descriptors based on race are fed to the audience and become a common knowledge.
