Application And Understanding Of Economics
One requirement for any student taking a microeconomics class is to complete an end of the semester
writing assignment. This assignment asks students to find five different articles from recent news and
analyze them in accordance with the various microeconomics topics discussed over the course of the
semester. This writing assignment in particular does not necessarily challenge the art of writing, but
rather, challenges the application and understanding of economics. Yes, writing is a key component in
the assignment, but the professor does not what the students focuses to be on argumentative strength
or in depth writing. Rather, the professor seeks that students grasp the somewhat complicated nature
of economics, more specifically those relating to kairotic events in the field, and be able to relay that
in analytical writing.
One of the greatest challenges of this assignment will be for students to analyze and relate the event
and information back to their own lives. For one, the students will have to be knowledgeable enough
in the topics discussed in class. For the most part, the concepts aren t hard to grasp, but being able to
analyze them in a way not strictly given to them might prove to be difficult. One important criteria of
the assignment, is that all of the articles chosen must be related to one of the indicated
microeconomics topics and all articles must relate to different topics. This is to expand the students
knowledges of understanding of the many different

How Does Alfred Lord Tennyson Use Imagery In The Charge Of...
The Bravery of War The Charge of the Light Brigade is a poem written by Alfred Lord Tennyson
commemorating the bravery of British soldiers during the Crimean War. Acting upon a mistaken order,
the soldiers make a valiant yet doomed attack against the enemy. Armed with only sabres, the soldiers
suffer heavy losses against the artillery of the enemy and must retreat immediately. Tennyson does not
focus on the mishaps of war but instead upon the bravery of the soldiers in the Light Brigade. He
describes the dangers the soldiers encounter in the battle. Through his use of personification and
imagery along with other literary elements, Tennyson presents a theme of honor as he provides the
reader with a portrait of the brave soldiers who serve ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Comparison of Three Alternative Bolus Materials to Superflab in Providing Max Dose Build Up
Radiation therapy is a type of treatment modality that administers radiation to patients with cancer.
This form of treatment has many components that contribute toward ensuring that radiation therapists
adequately treat the malignant tissue within the body. One of the major components in radiation
therapy is the use of bolus. Bolus is a material that doctors place on the skin to help bring the radiation
dose higher to the skin surface within the patient (Khan, 2012). Since there are not any research

Essay Lean Manufacturing
Lean Manufacturing is a very popular and successful strategy, which many manufacturing companies
have adopted over the past 60 years. Mone Consulting Firm has been referring this method for more
than 20 years at a high success rate of 99%. If implemented effectively going lean for Classic Cable
Company will have a positive impact throughout the entire enterprise, by introducing attainable goals.
The goals of lean manufacturing will achieve: a balanced rapid flow, eliminate waste and disruptions,

Customers don t like to wait, they want it now! A quick response to RFQS will satisfy the customer
which in the long run will reduce CCC s lead time and possibly match the customers expected time.
Furthermore, customers need to stop sending quotes directly to TSS. Maybe by advertising, all RFQs
must be sent to our sales administrator for processing purposes. In Step1: Response to quote request, a
modular design should be used for new products. This would cut the time in designing, reducing parts
and abridging assembly for CCC s engineering team. As well as eliminating errors from 40% to 0. The
TSS should also be using the ERP system to check to see if materials and shipping options are
available; so that a better quote package can be determined. Step 3: Sales order entry, it should not
take the planning department within 4 hours to enter data. This step needs to be taken as soon as
possible. Mistakes are costly and having 25% in errors are not acceptable so if we trim the timing of
entering the data CCC still has wiggle room to produce the sales order package effectively and have
material arrive on time . In Step 4: Work order Entry and Release to Stockroom, this step is perfect. It
s important to keep both ERP and MRP systems up to date so every department knows what is going
on.

Comparison between kinetic and kinematic response for barefoot vs shod foot running
Introduction
Running has changed the course of human time frame and its importance, within time people have
costumed to routine involving running. Research has led to believe that our ancestors mastered how to
run in need for scavenging, hunting for food; throughout time biomechanics of running changed our
anatomy by evolution (Lieberman,2004). Bramble (2004) states that humans have both strength in
running but weak in sprinting within evolution High speed is not important . Running shoes have
evolved to improve and support performance, it is known that during the middle Palaeolithic years
shoes were worn at about 40,000 years ago.

It was predicted that landing plantarflexed ankle during barefoot would create short stride lengths,
whereas with shod showed a significant difference at the ankle joint when landing at dorsiflex angle
where the stride length would be greater (Gallozzi, 2009).
In spite of the investigation between barefoot and shod running, there has not been any exact answer
to which running mechanics is best to improvement athletes. The study is based on the difference
between barefoot and shod running biomechanics within peak breaking force, ground, contact time,
ankle angle and peak breaking force.
Method
Participants
The study contained 40 undergraduate sports students with different types of capabilities within sports.
Ages (20.3 ± 1.7 years), height (1.76m ± 0.7m) and body mass (75.1kg ± 12.9kg) of these participants
were recorded from the study beforehand. The participants whom took part would have to fill out a
written consent form alongside a written PAR Q form and have to be injury free, before taking part
during the study.
Procedure

Differences In The Middle England And The New England...
In the early 1600 s, English people, attempting to escape the economic crisis that had plagued
England, began migrating to the Americas and establishing colonies. The New England colonies and
the Chesapeake region were both settled largely by populations of people of English origin. Despite
this similarity, by 1700 the regions had evolved into two distinct societies. The difference in the kind
of people that settled, the shared communal values, and the profitability of the land in these areas are
what shaped these regions into contrasting societies.
Understanding the types of people that settled these lands is essential to understanding why
differences in these societies emerged. The New England area was settled by large families for the ...

Being intent on maintaining this reputation, towns had homes placed relatively close to each other,
allowing neighbors to ensure each other s religious faithfulness as well. Overall, in the New England
area, settlers communal dedication to their faith built a unified, amicable community. In Chesapeake
however, the thirst for gold resulted in selfish ways from the very beginning. There was no talk...but
dig gold, wash gold, refine gold, load gold . (History of Virginia, 1624) In the south, the focus was on
finding riches in order to become self sufficient. People were intent on getting more and more, and
thus the gap between the rich and the poor increased. This increasing gap as well as the unfair
advantages landowners had in society would lead to Bacon s Rebellion. Chesapeake s selfish ways
differed greatly from the union the New Englander s formed with each other because each community
valued different things. The shaping of these colonies does not stop and social factors however. Land
capabilities would also contribute to shaping these two areas differently. For the New Englanders,
massive plantations and mass crop production was not an option with their rocky soil. The inability to

The Walking Qur An
In addition to the embodiment of the Qur an through bodily transmissions and ethical cultivation,
Rudolph Ware in his book, The Walking Qur an, proposes understanding embodiment of the Qur an as
not only a bodily epistemology but also as an religious prism to perceive the ontology of human
beings in both the past and present. In a follow up piece addressing criticisms and questions, Ware
explains in one neat line the objective of his book: If I could add a single line [to The Walking Qur
an], it would be that the book takes Qur an schooling as a window onto a particular epistemology of
embodiment, and then uses that epistemology as a window into history ( Traditions 678). Not only

Although he has been critiqued for disparaging Reformist variants of Islam, these critiques, in my
opinion, fail to see his particular utilization of the embodiment of Qur anic knowledge. For instance,
Adeline Masquelier in her essay Qur an Schooling and the Production of Mindful Bodies in West
Africa is correct to critique Ware s final polemic against Reformist Islam as lacking a fair insight
about its historical circumstances and relationship with the other Islamic discursive traditions;
however, her comparison of Saba Mahmood s embodiment of piety exhibited in her book Politics of
Piety and Ware s conceptualization of the term undercuts Ware s unique approach and paints
embodiment with the same brush (Masquelier 189 190). Failing to acknowledge the epistemological
project that comes with embodying the Qur an in Reformist Islam s particular way, such as the
adoption of specific subjectivities and modes of piety, reduces the differences the West African
epistemology possesses, for The Walking Qur an is not only the Qur an embodied but also the Qur an
in action [his italics] (Ware, WQ 14). Overall, whether through the embodiment of the memorization
and dispositions or the becoming of the literal walking, talking, and living Qur an, these two
conceptualizations of embodiment prove the important point that the Qur an is intricately tied to the
Muslim s corporeal interactions in this physical existence, for in every motion, the Qur an is

Compare And Contrast Colerridge And Wordsworth
Imagery has been one of the most pivotal movements in the cultural and intellectual history of English
Literature. The comparison is not only among the works of their own rather it also includes the
differences and traces of similarity with the works of others writers of different ages. The analysis is
done by reading the actual text and interpreting the meaning by understanding the deep phrases hidden
in the poetry. Different critics showed different aspects by their research. Some found out merits and
some found out demerits in the works of Wordsworth and Coleridge. The merits includes uniqueness,
healing power of poetry, and interpretation of their imagination for things whereas the demerits
include slack of humour, lack of range and lyricism in their poetry. On a whole Wordsworth and
Coleridge works have gained lot of interest and tempted many critics to write on their methods and
strategies which they adopted in their work. A new chapter in the history of English poetry opened
with the publication of Lyrical Ballads which were the results of Wordsworth and Coleridge friendship
after the revolution. They included two different kinds of poetry in these ballets. Wordsworth talked
about the subjects that were chosen from ordinary life and he ... Show more content on

Who Is Willa Cather s Admiration In My Antonia
Willa Cather has a strong admiration for the character Antonia in My Antonia. The introduction of My
Antonia states that the narrator and Jim were to write down all they knew of her in order to maybe get
a picture of her. I believe this strong admiration is because of the characteristics that are shown by
Antonia throughout the story. She is a hardworking girl that belongs to a Bohemian family who has
started a farm in Nebraska. Not only is she hard working but throughout the story she shows
characteristics of being strong both inside and out. Also, it is very apparent that she wants to be
independent and make her own decisions. I think Willa Cather admires the character Antonia because
she can, in a way, reflect on her characteristics

Italian Renaissance Humanism During The Middle Ages
Italian Renaissance humanism was an academic movement, which started in the fourteenth century. It
was a time for re awakening of educated thinking and empowering that humans are able to govern one
s life and future rather than allowing church to dictate their path in life. Yet Petrarch the father of
humanism began the movement outside of Italy. The Middle Ages had always had a strong humanist
tradition of interest in the Latin classics. Based on a deep and historicizing interest in the classical
past, this set of interest came to be known as the Italian Renaissance humanism. It gave the classical
past more shape and meaning. Humanism became extremely popular during the Renaissance, the pride

Let Me Not To The Marriage Of True Minds
Study the first 12 lines of the poem. Discuss how Shakespeare makes a statement in the first and
second lines, and then use lines 2 12 to give examples which supports his viewpoints.
In the first two lines of the poem Shakespeare writes,
Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments: love is not love
The first line shows that he thinks you should not marry unless you are faithful. He says let me not
which means that he does not approve of the untrue or unfaithful minds marrying. The second line
means that there will be obstacles in your way and you must be willing to face or overcome them.
Otherwise love is not love , or you will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This continues Shakespeare s idea of being faithful and then continues to think about the other person.
He uses the word remover as the one who falls out of love which emphasises the fact that it is their
fault and they are the ones being unfaithful. This could also be used as an example of one of the
obstacles, which Shakespeare explains exists in the second line.
In the next two lines Shakespeare explores love being there forever.
O no, it is an ever fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken
Here he starts to use metaphors to explain his viewpoints on love. In the first of the two lines he uses
the word mark which means buoy to show that the feeling of love does not change or move. He then
says that love faces tempests or storms and is still never shaken. These lines are a contrast to the last
two as they now show love never changing. The next lines show how faithful you can be and that true
love will always come through.
It is the star to every wand ring bark
Whose worth s unknown, although his height can be taken
A metaphor is used here, love is the star to a wandering ship. It guides you and gives you direction.
Also it means that you always follow it or always go back to your true love and also gives the idea of
life and love being a voyage or journey. The second line means that love has no worth, it is priceless
although it can be measured. This continues to expand Shakespeare s ideas on

(WORKING TITLE) Batman s duality as hero and hazard reflect how the capitalism present in
America is both the problem and solution. As the third installment in the Batman trilogy, a different
tone is used when the hero is introduced in the beginning scene. In the preceding films, the hero has
been seen righting wrongs and serving justice by banishing the manipulative, toxic and evil villains
Gotham is infested with. In the opening scene of The Dark Knight Rises, Commissioner Gordon
delivers a speech to honor the late Harvey Dent, former Gotham mayor, and his major contribution in
ridding the city s criminal activity. Dent was a symbol of hope and restoration from the economic
decline Gotham faced and the gang activity that terrorized the streets. Batman 2: The Dark Knight
introduced the villainous Joker and his psychotic madness which led to Dent s own decline when the
madman kills Dent s lover. This sparked Dent s own madness and list of homicides. Wanting to
preserve the hope Dent instilled onto the people and prevent chaos, Batman takes the blame for Dent s
transgression. And so, begins the duality of Batman.
Batman is the alter ego of wealthy and successful business man, Bruce Wayne. Wayne s parents were
tragically murdered right in front of him when he was young by an armed robber. This was the
moment Wayne took an oath to himself that he would rid his city of the injustice and crime that killed

Why I Own Google Inc. Stocks
It s all about technology stocks these days and Google is considered a long term buy. In July for
example, Google gave its investors a 20% increment beating financial analysts expectations in its
quarterly earnings report bringing it to up to a whopping 32% year to date. The stock also recorded
earnings per share of $6.99, beating Wall Street estimates of $6.70.
In considering the Google stock, I looked at its quality, growth potential, valuation and strong
financial performance. (Sanders, 2015)
1. Quality: Andreas Cardenal wrote in a July 2015 article, Why I Own Google Inc. Stocks that The

The online advertising industry made an estimated $49.45 billion in revenue in 2014 and this number
is projected to grow jump to $83.89 billion by 2019. Also, spending on Digital advertisements has
been estimated to rise from $145 billion in 2014 to $253 billion by 2018. Even with competition from
other small companies, Google is most likely to continue as one of the main players in this thriving
online advertising industry in the years ahead. (Cardenal, 2014)
3. Valuation: A high stock price can make even the best companies bad investments but in the case of
Google, this is hardly the case. In an October 2015 article, Jack Delaney wrote about Google s 16%
second quarter earnings which added about $70 billion dollars to shareholder value which is a record

This has helped the company in its leadership status especially in the online advertising industry. It has
also been able to show its profitable business model and growth potential. (Cardenal)

The Main Ideas of Enlightenment Philosophers Essay
During the Enlightenment, revolutionary thinkers called philosophes brought about new ideas as to
how to better understand and improve their society. They were all modern thinkers and had the best
interests of society in mind. Although each philosoph had his or her own ideas, they all centered
around one main theme: equality and human freedom. One famous influential philosopher was John
Locke. Locke was born in England in the mid 17th century and lived through both the English Civil
War and the Glorious Revolution. He strongly believed in equality for all men. In his book Second
Treatise on Civil Government, he says that creatures of the same species and rank...should be equal

Only two religions allowed in a population, Voltaire says, would create animosity and competition
between the two groups for power. But if all religions are tolerated, accepted, and represented, then
peace will be prominent and government will function much for efficiently and to the benefit of all of
the people. Everyone s rights will be represented because all of the focus will not just be on one or two
groups of people but a multitude of groups, creating religious equality for all. Called the Father of
Modern Economics, Adam Smith was an enormous advocate for private markets. He supported an
economic system based on the decision making by individuals instead of the government. Smith felt
that no one person or a group is fit to make decisions for a whole population of people and that the
population knows how to make decisions for its welfare. In Smith s mind, people work to supplement
their own lives, and when people seek individual economic gain then they unexpectedly promote
society and stimulate the economy subconsciously. If people earn more money by working harder then
almost all people will work harder. Smith insinuates that people are naturally self preserving and by
default selfish; but to a point. Everyone has something that they want and in this world most things
can be obtained if a person has enough money. Smith believes that every man should be free to

Stress Of Stress In Lyddie
Everybody comes to a point in their life when they need to start making decisions between everyday
things. Some choices are as simple as what do i want to eat for dinner? but some are a bit more
stressful like do i want to go to school even tho im feeling a little nauseous, but i would be missing out
on a lot of work. but some can be very much more stressful.. In the novel Lyddie, by Katherine
Paterson a young is sent to work in a tavern getting paid $00.50 but later gets fired when her boss
found her as she was leaving work to go visit her house and her brother. But Lyddie (the main

The Rise And Fall Of The Aztec Empire
The fall of the great Aztec Empire led to the demise and destruction of the prized capital, Tenochtitlan.
Through further investigation of the fall of the Aztec Empire, I was able to get a better understanding
to how it all happened. It all started with the arrival of Hernan Cortez and his army of men in 1519.
The great Aztec leader of Montezuma sent a messenger with gifts to warmly greet the new Spanish
people. Cortez accepted the gifts of the Aztec people, but in a way laughed as to say is this all? Cortez
and his men then demonstrated the brute force of their cavalry, horses and cannons. His cavalry
charged along the beach at full tilt with swords flashing and bells tinkling. If that were not
intimidating enough, the big cannon were fired,

Family Friendly Workplaces
There is a vast amount of contest surrounding the issues of whether Australian workplaces are family
friendly and are able to both accommodate and promote a healthy work life balance for employees.
This essay will discuss these issues by using evidence gathered from an array of both academic and
secondary sources, with particular consideration being paid to the notion and ideal of a family friendly
workplace existing within Australia. The first aspect that will be discussed is the concept of a family
friendly workplace and specific examples of Australian workplaces that implement such practices will
be explored. Second, the legislation and union involvement that is associated with implementing

51). As a part of their representation and constant struggle for the rights of workers and their families,
the Australian Council of Trade Unions has addressed the need to have family friendly policies and
practices, with an emphasis on work hours, introduced into Australian workplaces under law.
Although Trade Unions play a fundamental role in the provision of family friendly policies, the public
sector has been known to demonstrate a higher level of acceptance and willingness towards
implementing family friendly initiatives, as opposed to the private sector (Ravenswood Markey 2011,
p. 500). This suggests that organisational factors have an immense impact upon the unions ability to
influence workplace policies, no matter what they are in relation to. A study conducted by
Ravenswood Markey (2011) demonstrated evidence that family friendly policies and the influence of
a union is far more imaginable and favourable within workplaces that fall into the category of the
public sector (Ravenswood Markey 2011, p. 500). For organisations to be willing and amiable in
moving towards implementing family friendly policies, there first needs to be a strong union in place
and the existence of collective bargaining relationships with management for this to be a possibility
(Ravenswood Markey 2011 p. 501). Although there is a level of legislation and union

Analysis Of Junot Diaz s The Brief Wondrous Life Of Oscar Wao
In Junot Díaz s The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, one crucial point in the novel is in its
questioning of the well known tension between writers and dictators. The narrator problematizes the
conventional idea that tyrants and scribblers are natural antagonists by claiming that both just know
competition when they see it.... Like, after all, recognizes like (Díaz, 97). The idea that writers and
dictators share similarities is contradictory by itself; but, Díaz plays with this idea through his
representation of the Historical Dominican Dictator Rafael Trujillo and characters such as Yunior.
While the ties between these two political and creative powers can be made clear through observations
of Díaz s story, the same connection can also be made apparent in other works of art. Written by
Hector Oesterheld and drawn by Francisco Lopez, The Eternaut is an Argentina graphic novel that
revolves around the main character gaining the power of time travel through his survival of an
incoming alien invasion. A subject of various interpretations, The Eternaut is often understood as a
massive metaphor that criticizes the dictatorships and the political strifes of its time. This paper will
analyze the paradoxical connection between writers and dictators introduced in Diaz s novel; as well
as, compare its connection to the political interpretations made in Oesterheld s The Eternaut.
To understand the comparable relationship between writers and totalitarian leaders in the book, it is

Gbstetric Performance Assessment
The performance measure is to improve patient satisfaction scores on the unit. Our goals are to
increase HCAPHS scores, to achieve this goal we will be implementing an anonymous patient
satisfaction survey for parents that will be given at of discharge. Results from this survey will provide
feedback on ways to improve patient care. As a result, it will improve HCAPHS scores for the
hospital, thereby increasing hospital reimbursement and revenue.
Quality
The quality measure is to decrease the time between admission and the administration of intravenous
antibiotics to infant whose mothers are GBS positive. Our goal is to decrease infection rates, length of
stay and decrease the incidence of morbidity and mortality rates. This goal will be achieved by
implementing a golden hour guidelines that will be initiated on admission once orders are placed for
blood cultures and antibiotics. The guidelines can also be used for septic work ups on the unit.

This can be accomplished by implementing a monthly handwashing initiative on the unit that would
consist of completing five anonymous evaluations a month. Staff can enter their names into a drawing
on the unit, winners will receive a prize for their participation. The increase in consistent handwashing
between patients will reduce mortality and morbidity rates, reduce length of stay, reduce infection
rates therefore increasing reimbursement for the hospital.
Employee Engagement:
The employee engagement measure is to increase number of certified nurses with RNC NIC or CCRN
designation. This will be accomplished by implementing a certification class for interested nurses on
the unit. Success of this certification class will aide in improving the level of nursing knowledge on
the unit, also increasing NDNQI scores and help in maintaining our Magnet designation as a hospital.

The Complexity Of Endogenous Ligands For P2YR
Endogenous ligands for P2YR The most abundant and best characterized endogenous ligand for P2YR
is the nucleotide ATP. ATP binds to all P2YRs except P2Y6R and P2Y14R12. Its binding
characteristics exemplify the complexity of P2YR signalling: at low concentrations it is the only
native agonist for P2Y11R, but at higher concentrations it functions as a partial agonist for P2Y1R and
P2Y13R, or as an antagonist for human P2Y4R or P2Y12R11, 12, 15. Other nucleotides, such as ADP,
UTP, UDP or UDP glucose, exhibit more specificity for individual P2YRs. For example, ADP
activates P2Y1R, P2Y12R and P2Y13R, whereas UTP primarily binds to P2Y2R and P2Y4R, and to a
lesser extent to P2Y6R, for which UDP is its preferred native ligand. P2Y14R is ... Show more content

Myers Briggs Type Indicator Of Personality
Myers Briggs Type Indicator
Personality is a challenging trait to measure and many personality tests do not stand the test of time
once they are applied and researched. Why then, do we find it important to measure personality?
Isabel Briggs Myers once said It is up to each person to recognize his or her true preferences. I find
this statement to be true in theory and in practice. In today s social media, one of the most common
online quizzes or assessments I come across, is personality test. There appears to be countless ways to
find out one s personality type, but many have not been proven true or accurate. The Myers Briggs
Type Indicator, also known as the MBTI and it is a well known and established, personality inventory.
It is a way to do, as Isabel Briggs Myers said, to find and know your own preferences. The MBTI is
based on Carl Jung theories of personality types and commonly used today. It was developed by the
mother daughter team of Katharine Briggs and Isabel Briggs Myers in order to assess personality
types. The MBTI was published in 1975 by the Consulting Psychologists Press, Inc. (The Myers
Briggs Foundation Isabel Briggs Myers 2014).
Test Description
The MBIT was meant to coincide with Jung s four dichotomies which Katharine Briggs and Isabel
Myers followed. After a great deal of research, they came up with a self report instrument with
questions on four separate dichotomies (Myers, Creation of the MBTI® Types, 2011). Much like Jung,

constant debate about the importance and significance of both forms of communication. Because

with Mitchell Stephens statement in By Means of the Visible: A Picture s Worth that certain pictures

Morally Ambiguous Character In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
In the novel Frankenstein by Mary Shelley the creation can be viewed as a morally ambiguous
character. When the creature was given life he was benevolent and never wanted to inflict harm on

Well-Organized Government In Ancient Egypt
Introduction
The people of ancient Egypt started as hunters and gatherers. Then they settled in the Nile river valley.
When the people settled the food was more plentiful. And when the food was more plentiful there
were more. And with more people, they had to have all of the seven indicators.
Government
Every complex society needs a well organized government. In ancient Egypt having a well organized
government was important. The pharaoh was the most important person in the government. The
Pharaoh was the supreme leader of all of ancient Egypt, they even called him a god.The Pharaoh had
so many things to do being a leader/god that he needed help. So the Pharaoh decided who was the

Ancient Egypt also had a complex religion that tied into well organized government. The ancient
Egyptians were deeply religious. The ancient Egyptians would never worship without being purified.
They also believed that their gods had supernatural powers, and if they worshiped their gods they
would live a happy and long life. A way to worship gods is to pay tributes. They were so religious that
they built temples. They would also perform ceremonies so that ancient Egypt would not fall into
chaos. How does complex religion tie into well organized government? Every government has a
pharaoh and in the religious perspective, the pharaoh is also a god. The people of ancient Egypt would
treat him like a god and worshiped him. They would pay tributes. And when he died they covered him
in gold and riches and everything he had before. According to ducksters.com, the people built 2 types
of temples the first is cultus and the second is Mortuary the mortuary was built for the dead pharaoh.
So the pharaoh got his own temple built. The ancient Egyptians worked a lot for their religion. The
ancient Egyptians were the ones that built the pyramids and that took a lot of work. So why did the
ancient Egyptians just slack and not to do it? Well because it was apart of their religion and they had
to do it. They also built the Sphinx for their gods and religion. The ancient Egyptians also had big
ceremonies that would take a lot of

Examples Of Heroism In Antigone
Acts of heroism can be displayed in many different ways. In the play, Antigone, written by Sophocles,
the main character Antigone fought for what she believed in standing up against state law set by the
King. The Mother from 4 Maccabees also showed strength and virtue by having to watch all of her
seven sons be tortured and die right before her eyes. As being women in a society where they are
viewed as less equal to men, characters, Antigone and the Mother from 4 Maccabees did not let male
authoritarian rule get in the way of displaying valorous acts by sticking to their moral beliefs. The

country known as Thebes. For such actions King Kreon refused to let Polyneices have a proper burial
and would kill anyone who tried to give him one, which outraged Antigone. Antigone could not let
someone whose blood related to her not have a proper burial so she tries to get her sister, Ismene to
help her. Ismene replies, We must remember, first, that we two are by nature women and not fit to
fight with men; second, that we are ruled by others stronger than ourselves, and so must bow to this
and even greater griefs (Sophocles lines 61 64). Antigone being as passionate as she is ignores her
sister s fearfulness of the possible consequences and says to her, I shall bury him. To me it s fine to die
performing such a deed. I ll lie there, dear to him, with my dear friend, when I ve performed this crime
of piety; for I must please those down below a longer time than those up here, since I shall lie there
always (Sophocles lines 72 76). Antigone prefers to be dead with her brother who she loves very much
than to be alive and not have him have a proper burial. She believes that by committing such a crime it
is pure and will be vindicated by the Gods. Since Antigone is a woman it puts all the more pressure on
Kreon to stick to his orders because of the limitations of freedom set on Greek woman in the ancient
world. Her rebellious actions are out of line with her place in society as being a woman, which
disrupts the gender roles and Kings position over the people in the community. By not abiding by the

Essay on The Character of Hamlet in William Shakespeare s...
The Character of Hamlet in William Shakespeare s Play
Some critics have stated that the appeal of Hamlet to the audience is his many human weaknesses, the
most notable being his indecision. His deliberations and procrastinations are particularly high lighted
when he is faced with the task of revenge. The law and Christianity, around the early seventeenth
century, were clear in condemning personal revenge as an attempt by man to arrogate the prerogatives
of God. Hamlet s contradicting feelings toward avenging his father and avoiding breaking the law and
going against Christianity were most likely felt by the Elizabethan audience also, which would have

In this scene, Hamlet discovers Claudius praying; shows a will to perform his task of revenge, and yet
he is unable to go through with it. Hamlet enters to find Claudius with his back to Hamlet. Tension is
created within the audience, as the scene is portrayed as if the king is preparing for his execution, on
his knees, praying, although he is unaware Hamlet is behind him with his sword drawn. It is the
perfect opportunity, yet Hamlet deliberates. The scene results in an anti climax, with Shakespeare
creating drama with his will he, won t he tactic with regards to Hamlet.
I believe this is a prominent example of Hamlet s inability to take action. Hamlet never receives any
indication from Claudius that he regrets the death of Hamlet s father, and by killing him, would send
him to heaven. I think it most likely that Hamlet creates his own doubts, or excuses, as to delay with
the revenge of his father. It could also be possible that Hamlet is fearful of the consequences of his act
of vengeance. In Antonio s revenge and The revenger s tragedy , the criminal is also the ruler. As was
with these, the protagonist may be merely afraid of the consequences of treason.

Essay about Race and Ethnicity in Social Sciences
Use of the Terms Race and Ethnicity in the Social Sciences
Defining identity can be complex and therefore we have to investigate the factors involved that make
us who we are and how we are seen by others, collectively or individually. Social scientists have to

involved. The differences and/or similarities between us are the focus that categorise and label us in

These subgroup identities highlight the relational factors which exist in categorising identity, each
requiring the other in order to make the comparison between ethnic differences, power and status.
Racialization and Ethnicization are preferred concepts as they contribute more to the idea that the
identities we adopt are part of a process and are not static, referring to a dynamic process rather than a
fixed state.
Categorisations from the 1970 s onwards, such as the definition of black or white , were too vague,
and failed to recognise the specific needs of other ethnic minorities. In order to monitor and measure
statistically the discrimination and underachievement of such groups, collecting ethnic statistics in
relation to race and ethnicity was necessary and these can be found in official government censuses.
Over the years it became apparent that categorisation of ethnic groups in the censuses rendered some
groups invisible (Questioning Identity, ch 4, p 137, section 4.1.1), for example Irish and Welsh. The
category of white has had to be expanded into subcategories as the white grouping classification
remained singular within the censuses until 2001, and ethnicization of whites was too generalised. (
Questioning Identity: Kath Woodward ch.4 p138 Office of Population Censuses and Surveys, 1991)

Four of the Italian immigrants that sailed across the Atlantic Ocean from Italy to embark on their

2016). Its founders, Reverend Grant Cole, the former pastor of Connection Point Church, and Dr. Jack
Kennedy, Director of Cobb Douglas Public County Health, started Good Samaritan Health Center of
Cobb after seeing the need in their community and realizing that medical bills and poor health are a
contributing factor to poverty in the U.S (Good Samaritan Health Center of Cobb, 2016). Reverend
Cole and Dr. Kennedy modeled Good Samaritan Health Center of Cobb after the Good Samaritan
Health Center in Atlanta so the two organizations are very similar in mission, vision, and operations,
but serve different populations based on their locations (Tapper, 2016). The official mission of Good
Samaritan Cobb, as stated on their website, is, to spread the love of Christ by providing quality
healthcare to those in need. Its vision per the website is to be, obedient to God s commandments
directing us to love and serve Him, to love and serve our neighbor, and to spread the Gospel, the
health center will be a Christian ministry that exists to provide quality primary care medical and dental
services to the working poor of our community. This will be done at an affordable cost, providing
these families with a medical home upon which they can depend. As

Differences Between Minority And Non Minority Small...
The aim of this quantitative correlational study is to understand the differences between how minority
and non minority small business owners approach succession planning. This study will use a ex post
facto design. An A priori power analysis test using the G*Power 3.1.9.2 software program will be used
to establish a minimum overall sample size of 134. Specifically, a Wilcoxon Mann Whitney (two
groups) statistical two tailed t test calculation with an effect size d of .5, an alpha level of .05, and beta
level of .80 will be used to determine a sample size group of 67 participants. The subjects for the
current study will consist of U.S. small business owners selected using multiple sampling frames.
Although multiple sampling frames hamper generalization to the population, it allows for convenience
and is suitable for difficult and rare populations (). Subjects in the study must fit the definition of
small business owner, one who establishes an independently owned and operated business for profit in
the United States and has less than 500 employees.
The current study has two types of variables: the independent and dependent variables. The dependent
variables are succession preparedness, enterprise characteristics, and proportion of businesses with
formal succession plans and the independent variable, small business owners approach to succession
planning. The independent and dependent variables will be measured using an electronic questionnaire
composed of items from

Granville Oral Roberts Research Paper
Born to parents who had a strong dedication to their faith, Granville Oral Roberts was born near Ada,
Oklahoma. His father preached the gospel and established Pentecostal Holiness Churches, and his
mother prayed for the sick and led people to Christ. The family was poor, and his father was a farmer
while he pastored a church. While Roberts was in his mother s womb, she dedicated him to the Lord.
He was born with a severe stutter, but she continually told him that he would be healed and speak to
multitudes.
At age 16, Roberts left home with hopes of living a better life. He started living a worldly life and
rejected God and his parents faith. He returned home after he contracted an infectious disease.
Severely ill, his weight went down to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He was forced out of Melbourne where he was attacked physically and destructive gangs came against
him because he was praying for the sick.
Roberts was skillful in using the media to advance the ministry. He published a magazine when he
started the Oral Roberts Evangelistic Association. He understood the influence of radio and television.
Roberts started to record his crusades on film in 1954. He broadcast sermons on radio and broadcast
crusade tapes on peak time, evening television. Thousands of phone calls and letters came into the
ministry. The ministry had a prayer team, 24 hours day, to answer the phone calls and pray for people.
By 1957 1,000,000 salvations were counted. Roberts conducted over 300 major crusades between
1947 and 1968.
Roberts name appeared on the Top 100 list of the nation s most respected people for several years.
Between the late 1950s and the early 1960s, he was making a significant impact nationally. In the late
1950s he received a vision from God to build a university. Roberts continued to hold healing meetings
but he shifted toward the university and television programs. He became the Co founder, President,
and Chancellor of Oral Roberts

Diversity Characteristics in Undergraduate Admission
Introduction
Over the years, colleges and universities have been making efforts to amend discrimination by
targeted admissions, financial aid programs, and other efforts assisting minority students (Gardner,
2006). But the debate over diversity characteristics (including race and ethnicity) in the admission
process will never come to an end. The affirmative action in several states has raised discussions about
minority access to higher education focusing on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Compare And Contrast The House Of The Red Fish
In the book, House of the Red Fish, the protagonist, Tomi, and the antagonist Keet Wilson compete.
During World War 2, on the islands of Hawai i, Tomi and friends are trying to raise a sunken boat
while Keet Wilson and his army of BMTC Punks are trying to stop him. Tomi and Keet both have
their differences and their similarities. They both are clever and ambitious. But Tomi and Keet also
have a few differences. Tomi and Keet both demonstrate their smarts during their quarrels. Often
throughout the book Keet steals Tomi s stuff and Tomi retrieves it. In chapter 9 Tomi tricks Keet into
walking into a hole filled with centipedes. Keet responded by trying to beat up Tomi and his friends
then he steals Tomi s supplies from the sunken boat.

How Does Eliot s Use Of Allusion In The Love Song Of J...
I explicitly agree that the poetry of T.S Eliot is unquestionably dominated by thought provoking
reflections which are complemented by powerful imagery, leading the reader into the state of mind of
Eliot himself. Initially, I abhorred Eliot s poetry. His poetry then, for me, represented a confusing and
exceptionally difficult body of work and I found it similarly difficult to form any kind of genuine
response to his poetry. In spite of this, over my past couple of readings, I have formed a muscular
response to his literary work. Personally, I comprehend the poetry of T.S Eliot as being enigmatic and
remarkable which I believe is shown through the power of Literary History. Eliot s compelling use of
literary allusions is incredibly conspicuous ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
T.S. Eliot s use of allusion is fundamental to the structure and themes of his early poetry. In the poem
The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock , Eliot uses gripping literary allusions and thought provoking
reflections, specifically influenced by Eliot s extensive reading of Dante, the poem s epigraph being an
extract from the Inferno, a work that describes a journey through Hell. This poem also makes several
references to the Bible with Prufrock comparing himself to John the Baptist and Lazarus, suggesting
that he, too, has something acute to reveal to the world, although admitting he is no prophet neither a
John the Baptist, nor a Lazarus, nor is he even a hero. One can postulate that it is probable that
Prufrock may not be a poem about good people, but about bad ones professing to be good. The Love
Song of J. Alfred Prufrock resembles a form of a dramatic monologue, the words of an individual
speaker, who is revealing their inner thoughts and concerns to the audience. Accordingly, Eliot makes
use of a number of metaphors to convey Prufrock s lack of confidence and self disgust, with Prufrock
correlating his days and ways to cigarette butts to convey his

From Outrage By Anne Murray Summary
Anne Murray states that, Women s health is so much more than medical issues; it is cultural, political,
economic, and above all, an issue of social justice (From Outrage to Courage, 2008, p.1). Women s
health is an issue of social justice in a sense that fairness and equality should be primordial in the
health care system. Social justice aims to support the wellbeing of all individuals regardless of
differences. Unfortunately, little has been done to promote and improve women s health. An analysis
of social and economic circumstances that affect women s health in development reveals that:
inequality in health care in terms of poor health and poverty affect the health of women. In Amnesty
International, Deadly Delivery and From Outrage ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the points mentioned by Anne Murray is how women s health s has been ignored and
neglected. This is a true case. Going back to the olden days and basing my analysis on women as
healers, Witches, Midwives, and Nurses by English and Ehrenreich tells us women s story as health
workers and denounce the history of suppression. Women have always been healers. Even though they
were not licensed with medical degrees, women were nurses and pharmacists. Today, however, the
health care system is a male dominated industry. Because it has become the property of male
professionals, many issues are affecting women and their children. For instance, according to Murray,
female infants and children s access to food and/ or medical care has been neglected because
researchers either view the household as a single entity with uniform internal distribution or treat
newborns as a sex neutral category. This demonstrates that little attention; research and financial
support are given to expand the wellbeing of women and their children. The lack of participation of
women in planning and implementing health care policies and politics has failed to take women s
health

  • 2. Application And Understanding Of Economics One requirement for any student taking a microeconomics class is to complete an end of the semester writing assignment. This assignment asks students to find five different articles from recent news and analyze them in accordance with the various microeconomics topics discussed over the course of the semester. This writing assignment in particular does not necessarily challenge the art of writing, but rather, challenges the application and understanding of economics. Yes, writing is a key component in the assignment, but the professor does not what the students focuses to be on argumentative strength or in depth writing. Rather, the professor seeks that students grasp the somewhat complicated nature of economics, more specifically those relating to kairotic events in the field, and be able to relay that in analytical writing. One of the greatest challenges of this assignment will be for students to analyze and relate the event and information back to their own lives. For one, the students will have to be knowledgeable enough in the topics discussed in class. For the most part, the concepts aren t hard to grasp, but being able to analyze them in a way not strictly given to them might prove to be difficult. One important criteria of the assignment, is that all of the articles chosen must be related to one of the indicated microeconomics topics and all articles must relate to different topics. This is to expand the students knowledges of understanding of the many different ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Bravery of War The Charge of the Light Brigade is a poem written by Alfred Lord Tennyson commemorating the bravery of British soldiers during the Crimean War. Acting upon a mistaken order, the soldiers make a valiant yet doomed attack against the enemy. Armed with only sabres, the soldiers suffer heavy losses against the artillery of the enemy and must retreat immediately. Tennyson does not focus on the mishaps of war but instead upon the bravery of the soldiers in the Light Brigade. He describes the dangers the soldiers encounter in the battle. In Step1: Response to quote request, a modular design should be used for new products. This would cut the time in designing, reducing parts and abridging assembly for CCC s engineering team. As well as eliminating errors from 40% to 0. The TSS should also be using the ERP system to check to see if materials and shipping options are available; so that a better quote package can be determined. The New England colonies and the Chesapeake region were both settled largely by populations of people of English origin. Despite this similarity, by 1700 the regions had evolved into two distinct societies. The difference in the kind of people that settled, the shared communal values, and the profitability of the land in these areas are what shaped these regions into contrasting societies. In a follow up piece addressing criticisms and questions, Ware explains in one neat line the objective of his book: If I could add a single line [to The Walking Qur an], it would be that the book takes Qur an schooling as a window onto a particular epistemology of embodiment, and then uses that epistemology as a window into history ( Traditions 678). Although he has been critiqued for disparaging Reformist variants of Islam, these critiques, in my opinion, fail to see his particular utilization of the embodiment of Qur anic knowledge. For instance, Adeline Masquelier in her essay Qur an Schooling and the Production of Mindful Bodies in West Africa is correct to critique Ware s final polemic against Reformist Islam as lacking a fair insight about its historical circumstances and relationship with the other Islamic discursive traditions; however, her comparison of Saba Mahmood s embodiment of piety exhibited in her book Politics of Piety and Ware s conceptualization of the term undercuts Ware s unique approach and paints embodiment with the same brush (Masquelier 189 190). Failing to acknowledge the epistemological project that comes with embodying the Qur an in Reformist Islam s particular way, such as the adoption of specific subjectivities and modes of piety, reduces the differences the West African epistemology possesses, for The Walking Qur an is not only the Qur an embodied but also the Qur an in action [his italics] (Ware, WQ 14). Overall, whether through the embodiment of the memorization and dispositions or the becoming of the literal walking, talking, and living Qur an, these two conceptualizations of embodiment prove the important point that the Qur an is intricately tied to the Muslim s corporeal interactions in this physical existence, for in every motion, the Qur an is ... The comparison is not only among the works of their own rather it also includes the differences and traces of similarity with the works of others writers of different ages. The analysis is done by reading the actual text and interpreting the meaning by understanding the deep phrases hidden in the poetry. Different critics showed different aspects by their research. Some found out merits and some found out demerits in the works of Wordsworth and Coleridge. The merits includes uniqueness, healing power of poetry, and interpretation of their imagination for things whereas the demerits include slack of humour, lack of range and lyricism in their poetry. On a whole Wordsworth and Coleridge works have gained lot of interest and tempted many critics to write on their methods and strategies which they adopted in their work. O no, it is an ever fixed mark That looks on tempests and is never shaken Here he starts to use metaphors to explain his viewpoints on love. In the first of the two lines he uses the word mark which means buoy to show that the feeling of love does not change or move. The Dark Knight Figures In The Dark Knight Rises Monica Yip Carrie Jean Schroeder English 1C 30 August 2017 (WORKING TITLE) Batman s duality as hero and hazard reflect how the capitalism present in America is both the problem and solution. As the third installment in the Batman trilogy, a different tone is used when the hero is introduced in the beginning scene. In the preceding films, the hero has been seen righting wrongs and serving justice by banishing the manipulative, toxic and evil villains Gotham is infested with. In the opening scene of The Dark Knight Rises, Commissioner Gordon delivers a speech to honor the late Harvey Dent, former Gotham mayor, and his major contribution in ridding the city s criminal activity. Dent was a symbol of hope and restoration from the economic decline Gotham faced and the gang activity that terrorized the streets. Batman 2: The Dark Knight introduced the villainous Joker and his psychotic madness which led to Dent s own decline when the madman kills Dent s lover. This sparked Dent s own madness and list of homicides. Wanting to preserve the hope Dent instilled onto the people and prevent chaos, Batman takes the blame for Dent s transgression. They were all modern thinkers and had the best interests of society in mind. Although each philosoph had his or her own ideas, they all centered around one main theme: equality and human freedom. One famous influential philosopher was John Locke. Locke was born in England in the mid 17th century and lived through both the English Civil War and the Glorious Revolution. He strongly believed in equality for all men. But if all religions are tolerated, accepted, and represented, then peace will be prominent and government will function much for efficiently and to the benefit of all of the people. Everyone s rights will be represented because all of the focus will not just be on one or two groups of people but a multitude of groups, creating religious equality for all. Called the Father of Modern Economics, Adam Smith was an enormous advocate for private markets. He supported an economic system based on the decision making by individuals instead of the government. Smith felt that no one person or a group is fit to make decisions for a whole population of people and that the population knows how to make decisions for its welfare. In Smith s mind, people work to supplement their own lives, and when people seek individual economic gain then they unexpectedly promote society and stimulate the economy subconsciously. If people earn more money by working harder then almost all people will work harder. Smith insinuates that people are naturally self preserving and by default selfish; but to a point. Everyone has something that they want and in this world most things can be obtained if a person has enough money. Smith believes that every man should be free to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

She was still in her tank top, though she d pulled on a pair of jeans; her hair was scraped behind her head in a messy bun, and her nails were powdered with dust. She had searched under his bed, in all the drawers and cabinets, crawled under the wardrobe and desk, and looked in the pockets of all his clothes for a second stele, but she had found nothing. She had told Sebastian she was exhausted, that she needed to go upstairs and lie down; he had seemed distracted and had waved her away. Images of Jace s face kept flashing behind her eyelids every time she shut her eyes the way he had looked at her, betrayed, as if he didn t know her anymore. But there was no point dwelling on that. Through further investigation of the fall of the Aztec Empire, I was able to get a better understanding to how it all happened. Cortez accepted the gifts of the Aztec people, but in a way laughed as to say is this all? Cortez and his men then demonstrated the brute force of their cavalry, horses and cannons. As a part of their representation and constant struggle for the rights of workers and their families, the Australian Council of Trade Unions has addressed the need to have family friendly policies and practices, with an emphasis on work hours, introduced into Australian workplaces under law. Although Trade Unions play a fundamental role in the provision of family friendly policies, the public sector has been known to demonstrate a higher level of acceptance and willingness towards implementing family friendly initiatives, as opposed to the private sector (Ravenswood Markey 2011, p. 500). This suggests that organisational factors have an immense impact upon the unions ability to influence workplace policies, no matter what they are in relation to. A study conducted by Ravenswood Markey (2011) demonstrated evidence that family friendly policies and the influence of a union is far more imaginable and favourable within workplaces that fall into the category of the public sector (Ravenswood Markey 2011, p. 500). For organisations to be willing and amiable in moving towards implementing family friendly policies, there first needs to be a strong union in place and the existence of collective bargaining relationships with management for this to be a possibility (Ravenswood Markey 2011 p. 501). Like, after all, recognizes like (Díaz, 97). The idea that writers and dictators share similarities is contradictory by itself; but, Díaz plays with this idea through his representation of the Historical Dominican Dictator Rafael Trujillo and characters such as Yunior. ATP binds to all P2YRs except P2Y6R and P2Y14R12. Its binding characteristics exemplify the complexity of P2YR signalling: at low concentrations it is the only native agonist for P2Y11R, but at higher concentrations it functions as a partial agonist for P2Y1R and P2Y13R, or as an antagonist for human P2Y4R or P2Y12R11, 12, 15. Other nucleotides, such as ADP, UTP, UDP or UDP glucose, exhibit more specificity for individual P2YRs. For example, ADP activates P2Y1R, P2Y12R and P2Y13R, whereas UTP primarily binds to P2Y2R and P2Y4R, and to a lesser extent to P2Y6R, for which UDP is its preferred native ligand. P2Y14R is ... Why then, do we find it important to measure personality? Isabel Briggs Myers once said It is up to each person to recognize his or her true preferences. I find this statement to be true in theory and in practice. In today s social media, one of the most common online quizzes or assessments I come across, is personality test. There appears to be countless ways to find out one s personality type, but many have not been proven true or accurate. The Myers Briggs Type Indicator, also known as the MBTI and it is a well known and established, personality inventory. It is a way to do, as Isabel Briggs Myers said, to find and know your own preferences. The MBTI is based on Carl Jung theories of personality types and commonly used today. It was developed by the mother daughter team of Katharine Briggs and Isabel Briggs Myers in order to assess personality types. The MBTI was published in 1975 by the Consulting Psychologists Press, Inc. (The Myers Briggs Foundation Isabel Briggs Myers 2014). Test Description The MBIT was meant to coincide with Jung s four dichotomies which Katharine Briggs and Isabel Myers followed. Antigone could not let someone whose blood related to her not have a proper burial so she tries to get her sister, Ismene to help her. Ismene replies, We must remember, first, that we two are by nature women and not fit to fight with men; second, that we are ruled by others stronger than ourselves, and so must bow to this and even greater griefs (Sophocles lines 61 64). The Character of Hamlet in William Shakespeare s Play Some critics have stated that the appeal of Hamlet to the audience is his many human weaknesses, the most notable being his indecision. The law and Christianity, around the early seventeenth century, were clear in condemning personal revenge as an attempt by man to arrogate the prerogatives of God. Hamlet enters to find Claudius with his back to Hamlet. Tension is created within the audience, as the scene is portrayed as if the king is preparing for his execution, on his knees, praying, although he is unaware Hamlet is behind him with his sword drawn. It is the perfect opportunity, yet Hamlet deliberates. The scene results in an anti climax, with Shakespeare creating drama with his will he, won t he tactic with regards to Hamlet. I believe this is a prominent example of Hamlet s inability to take action. Hamlet never receives any indication from Claudius that he regrets the death of Hamlet s father, and by killing him, would send him to heaven. I think it most likely that Hamlet creates his own doubts, or excuses, as to delay with the revenge of his father. Categorisations from the 1970 s onwards, such as the definition of black or white , were too vague, and failed to recognise the specific needs of other ethnic minorities. In order to monitor and measure statistically the discrimination and underachievement of such groups, collecting ethnic statistics in relation to race and ethnicity was necessary and these can be found in official government censuses. Over the years it became apparent that categorisation of ethnic groups in the censuses rendered some groups invisible (Questioning Identity, ch 4, p 137, section 4.1.1), for example Irish and Welsh. The category of white has had to be expanded into subcategories as the white grouping classification remained singular within the censuses until 2001, and ethnicization of whites was too generalised. • 41. The Importance Of Italian Immigration To America No Such Thing Starting in 1890, Italian immigrants began to travel from their hometowns of Italy to their new world, America. Known as the New Immigration, the transition became the third largest immigrating wave from Europe. Records show, that in 1913 that the number of Italians living in America stood at an all time high. Most of the Italian immigrants coming to the states had stepped onto American soil at Ellis Island in New York City. Four of the Italian immigrants that sailed across the Atlantic Ocean from Italy to embark on their journey to America, existed as my great grandparents. Being a full blooded Italian means that I still have some family members living in Italy. Having the cultural heritage of an Italian has had a huge influence on my life due to the fact that I ve stayed surrounded by the culture ever since my childhood. Some traditions of a normal Italian family consist of food, rituals, religion, affiliations, and more food. Baptizing a child in a Roman Catholic church, remains as one of the most important traditions in the Italian culture. During this ceremony, the parents select a godmother and godfather for the child. As a child, I experienced baptism and to this day I have my godparents. In the future, I plan on baptizing my children, and keeping the tradition thriving. Every Italian family loves big meal and very tasty courses. Every Sunday my entire family, all 15 of us, get together to have a family dinner. At this dinner, we would talk about ... • 47. How Does Eliot s Use Of Allusion In The Love Song Of J... I explicitly agree that the poetry of T.S Eliot is unquestionably dominated by thought provoking reflections which are complemented by powerful imagery, leading the reader into the state of mind of Eliot himself. Initially, I abhorred Eliot s poetry. His poetry then, for me, represented a confusing and exceptionally difficult body of work and I found it similarly difficult to form any kind of genuine response to his poetry. In spite of this, over my past couple of readings, I have formed a muscular response to his literary work. Personally, I comprehend the poetry of T.S Eliot as being enigmatic and remarkable which I believe is shown through the power of Literary History. Eliot s compelling use of literary allusions is incredibly conspicuous ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... T.S. Eliot s use of allusion is fundamental to the structure and themes of his early poetry. In the poem The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock , Eliot uses gripping literary allusions and thought provoking reflections, specifically influenced by Eliot s extensive reading of Dante, the poem s epigraph being an extract from the Inferno, a work that describes a journey through Hell. This poem also makes several references to the Bible with Prufrock comparing himself to John the Baptist and Lazarus, suggesting that he, too, has something acute to reveal to the world, although admitting he is no prophet neither a John the Baptist, nor a Lazarus, nor is he even a hero. One can postulate that it is probable that Prufrock may not be a poem about good people, but about bad ones professing to be good. The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock resembles a form of a dramatic monologue, the words of an individual speaker, who is revealing their inner thoughts and concerns to the audience. Accordingly, Eliot makes use of a number of metaphors to convey Prufrock s lack of confidence and self disgust, with Prufrock correlating his days and ways to cigarette butts to convey his ... • 48. From Outrage By Anne Murray Summary Anne Murray states that, Women s health is so much more than medical issues; it is cultural, political, economic, and above all, an issue of social justice (From Outrage to Courage, 2008, p.1). Women s health is an issue of social justice in a sense that fairness and equality should be primordial in the health care system. Social justice aims to support the wellbeing of all individuals regardless of differences. Unfortunately, little has been done to promote and improve women s health. An analysis of social and economic circumstances that affect women s health in development reveals that: inequality in health care in terms of poor health and poverty affect the health of women. In Amnesty International, Deadly Delivery and From Outrage ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the points mentioned by Anne Murray is how women s health s has been ignored and neglected. This is a true case. Going back to the olden days and basing my analysis on women as healers, Witches, Midwives, and Nurses by English and Ehrenreich tells us women s story as health workers and denounce the history of suppression. Women have always been healers. Even though they were not licensed with medical degrees, women were nurses and pharmacists. Today, however, the health care system is a male dominated industry. Because it has become the property of male professionals, many issues are affecting women and their children. For instance, according to Murray, female infants and children s access to food and/ or medical care has been neglected because researchers either view the household as a single entity with uniform internal distribution or treat newborns as a sex neutral category. This demonstrates that little attention; research and financial support are given to expand the wellbeing of women and their children. The lack of participation of women in planning and implementing health care policies and politics has failed to take women s health ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
