Tristman And Iseult Research Paper
Love is something that cannot be helped, unless it is an accident. The legend of Tristan and Iseult
is a love story that ends in tragedy. The star crossed lovers, who accidentally fell helplessly in love
by drinking a love potion, run into issues while trying to hide their love. Throughout time, the many
authors of stories about Tristan and Iseultchanged parts of the story to fit the time period the stories
were written in. Audiences in the different time periods appeal to different kinds of entertainment.
Therefore, the changes that occur in different versions of the story over time are due to different
audiences appealing to different things.
The poem Tristram and Iseult by Matthew Arnold, published in 1852, differs from the movie ...

Internet Gambling Essay
Abstract: Internet gambling has become one of the hottest areas of the web, both in the sheer
volume of sites and quantity of money involved. Increasing controversy is accompanying this new
industry, as federal and state government officials scramble to update legislation that restricts
interstate wagering. This paper examines the roots of Internet gambling and exposessome of the
motivations driving the heated debate over its legitimacy.
The business to consumer sector of the Internet commerce arena contains the most lucrative and
fastest growing web based industry: online gambling, which includes sports wagering, casino style
games and lotteries [1]. In a September 11th article from last year, Wired on line reported ... Show

After a Senate Judiciary Committee endorsed the bill 16 1[4], the measure moved to the House for
consideration in July 2000, where representatives currently deliberate on its merits [8].
Representative James Leach of Iowa then proposed the Internet Gambling Funding Prohibition Act,
which has also failed to become ratified. Introduced shortly after Kyl brought the of the Internet
Gambling Prohibition Act to the House, the bill had a two fold purpose: first, to prohibit online
gambling companies from knowingly accepting wagers placed on credit; and second, to absolve
unknowing financial intermediaries [i.e., credit card companies] of legal and monetary
responsibility when gamblers use their services for credit transactions [9]. The motivation for the
legislation may have come from the bizarre 1998 lawsuit filed in Marin County, CA by Cynthia

Persuasive Essay On The Military Community
There are several social communities within the United States, and one of the biggest is the
Military community including active duty, reserves, and retired members. America s military is the
biggest and strongest military in the world, and only continues to keep growing and advancing. Due
to the checks and balances of the government also common knowledge the president is
consequently the commander in chiefof the powerhouse United States Military. Recently there has
been a severe change in the military since Donald Trump came into office, causing a so called
messy problem. More specifically, a change that involves the transgendercommunity as well.
Trump declared that transgender individuals are no longer allowed to serve in the... Show more

During the interview, he made several substantial, and exceptional, points. He, like everyone else
who has experience in and understands the military, agreed with Trump s ban on transgenders. I
think Trump did what others were afraid to do... I believe it is a utopian view to say let them
serve. It is not that simplistic (Bellis). It is important to note that he does not hate or despise
transgenders, however he just thought that it would be what is best for that community. As Bellis
said in the interview, I am not against homosexuals [or anyone in the LGBT community] in the
military. They have served for years honorably, and will continue to serve honorably regardless of
politics. Yet, he brings about several distinguished points about potential issues in the standards of
the military for transgenders. As most people know, the military has a strict discipline policy for
every soldier, regardless of race, gender, or orientation. Part of this discipline policy are both
dress code and physical fitness standards. This means that every soldier must be able to pass a
physical fitness test, and must follow ordinance with the uniform policy. This becomes problematic
with transgenders when trying to decide which physical fitness standards they should be judged
on, or which dress code they can follow. Like what Bellis said in the interview:
While a male is transitioning to a female, will they

Figurative Language In Sailing The Byzantium
Literature is always personal, always one man s vision of the world, one man s experience (W.B.
Yeats n.d.). Such perspicacity is evident in the works of William Butler Yeats, whose poetry reflects
his fascination with mysticism and the days of yore. The poem Sailing the Byzantium illustrates
how William Butler Yeatsuse of artistic diction and symbolism reveals the parallels between ancient
civilization and the cycle of life and communicates the dual themes of obsolescence and perpetuity.
Yeats elegy, details a metaphoric spiritual journey of renewal to the holy city seeking intellectual
refuge within an artifice of eternity (Yeats, Lines 16,24). His use of figurative language elicits both
the somber and nostalgic tones evident throughout the poem.... Show more content on

At the beginning of the second stanza, Yeats use of the metonymic phrase: Aged man...A tattered
coat upon a stick poignantly conveys the not only narrator s image of his own aging mortal form
but the insignificance of his existence among his youthful countrymen (Lines 9,10). Most notably,
the use of dramatic metaphors in Line 11 and 12, Soul clap its hands and sing...but studying
Monuments of its own magnificence , personifies the soul as a song. In addition, it articulates the
idea that one s soul achieves perpetuity, not through sensual song, but through the erudition of
ancient civilization (Yeats, Lines 7, 11,14). Yeats use of apostrophe and simile in Lines 17 22: O
sages ...As in gold mosaic ...Come from the holy fire, perne in gyre...Consume my heart away; sick
with desire And fastened to a dying animal , illuminates the narrator s yearning to relinquish earthly
chains. Furthermore, his use of assonance in Line 19, by which he accentuates the long i sound of

Legalization Of Prostitution In The United States
Prostitution, is an old occupation, where women are employed in selling sex for money. Money,
can be a key component and motivator to why women become prostitutes. Most of the prostitutes
come from low income backgrounds. Prostitution is a well paying occupation for women.
Prostitution provides increasing income for all prostitutes varying from one another. Many places
in United States, except Nevada, banned prostitution. In the late 1800s, women solicited sex from
men for money to earn profits, which has proceeded over the years. Lower class prostitutes look
to sell sex for money to supplement their income. Some start at a young age to come up with ways
to pay for books and tuitions, without realizing the consequences or danger involved. Prostitution is

state the number of prostitutes has been estimated to range from 84,000 to 336,000 (Potterat et al,
1990, p. 227). Some prostitutes work part time, and work other legal occupations. According to
Thio, Taylor, Schwartz, there was a recent study, where women from 18 to 64 were asked if they
ever had sex for money. The results concluded that about 6 percent said yes, then the number
translated larger to at least 4.2 million. Many people believe that prostitution is wicked because it
contains sex for money, and considered a sign of social order. Feminists, believe that prostitution
provides a setting in which prostitution is viewed as being robbed, beaten, or raped. The two
different beliefs hold negative views about prostitution. Regardless, prostitution has a variety of

A Master Of The Rubik s Cube
If you or I were to choose a random toy, from a random child s toy collection, it is more likely
that a Rubik s Cube would be chosen than any other toy. In other words, the Hungarian
originated cube is the best selling toy in history ( The History of the Rubik s Cube. ), so the
actuality that I became infatuated with the gadget was somewhat likely. In what I believed at
this stage in my life to be the most prestigious honor possible, I set out to become a master of the
Rubik s cube. My goal, as well as the toy itself, would have never had been possible if it were not
for a man named ErnЕ‘ Rubik. The Rubik s Cube credited inventor was born in 1944, in
Budapest, Hungary. Rubik attended the Budapest University of Technology and Economics,
and studied to become an educator, and also studied architecture. It is noted that Rubik was
always looking for new, more exciting ways to present information. It was 30 years after his
birth that he began experimenting with this goal and accidentally created the impossible; a
solid cube (originally made of wood!) that would not fall apart if twisted or turned. Rubik added
colorful stickers. It took him well over a month to generate a solution that would solve the puzzle
every time, and less than a year later, he patented the cube, and gave it its original name, the
Magic Cube . Fast forward twenty four months later, and the toy was first sold in a Budapest
toyshop. ( The History of the Rubik s Cube. ) The cube caught the eye of Tom Kremer.

Humans Need An Omnivorous Diet
Human have gone through evolutionary change that we have soon adapted and gained the
advantage to being able to ingest just about anything. It could be seen that our bodies had to go
through a serious of adjusting such as nuts, which are packed with fats and low in fiber. A diet with
nuts could have adjusted our ancestors to a meat eatinglifestyle. Our ancestors were hunter and
gatherers from the start. Perhaps when it became time to look for food, animals and plants were
comprised. They had access to stone tools which were used for opening the nuts and could have
been shaped for killing animals and eating them. There is great evidence on the anatomy and
physiology of our ancestors through their jaw, which shows a transformative history that back up an
omnivorous diet, the leading indication comes from our teeth. They were equipped with the tools to
obtain animals and plants and the bodies to digest it. I agree with Rachel that us humans are more
omnivores. Humans need a balance of nutrients, minerals and vitamins.... Show more content on

They will have to do the extra research and see what they will need to consume for their bodies to
gain the proper nutrients. Milton states that many plants are missing one or more nutrients that are
necessary for the animals and so if they are primarily plant eater, they will have to get all their
nutrient from other sources to meet what is required for them. This is basically what a vegetarian
diet is like and to get a nutritious meal, one must acquire the necessary substitutes to get their
required protein such as in kale, spinach, nuts, grains, peas.

Oppositions In My Darling Clementine
The Fundamental Oppositions in My Darling Clementine In the Western genre, according to Jim
Kitses, anyone is able to understand it as a genre articulating a cultural mythology (Belton 249). In
this case, the American psyche. It has been said that the Western represents the myth of the frontier,
which meant the unsettled land at the edge of the frontier where land was unlimited and free for
any man to claim. This notion dates back to the late nineteenth century. Accordingly, Hollywood
produced more Westernfilms than any other genre between the years of 1926 to 1967. Making it
the quintessential American genre. My Darling Clementine (1946), directed by John Ford was
released in between those years, in 1946, and complies to the classical Western structure and plot
described by Jim Kitses and further described by Will Wright. The filmadheres to the classical
composition of a Western by following the steps of Wright s classical plot structure. However, the
film specifically abides by Kitses s structural analysis of bundles of oppositions in a Western. This
is demonstrated in the differing sequences from the home and the saloon or jail.... Show more

The film withholds some truth, in terms of its historical accuracy of the Wyatt Earp tale, but more
importantly it portrays Ford s love of the West and his interest in the legends of the West. By that,
he showcases a land and town in demand of improvement and civilization, thus an area of chaos
requiring a hero to put it back in order. Consequently, Earp and his brothers travel several days from
the East all the way to Tombstone to drive their herd of cattle to California. One scholar, Richard
Hutson, notes that, ...legends seem to originate within a community and have the purpose of

was 5 Tips to Reduce the Fear of Public Speaking on Psychology Today s website. I learned that
public speaking is the number one fear in America, while the fear of death is second in line. This
means that we re more afraid of speaking in public than we are of dying. I also learned five tips on
how to reduce public speaking nervousness.
The first one was Don t Expect Perfection from Yourself. No one is perfect but when it comes
time to speak in public, some of us pick at every little flaw we think we make. We blow up our
imperfections yet ignore the good things. Honestly, though, even the greatest and most experience
public speakers can make a lot of mistakes. The difference is, when they do, they re able to
gracefully recover and keep going as if nothing happened. That s one of the keys to success: keep
going gracefully. Most of the time, the audience won t notice most of your mistakes unless you
make them obvious by stopping your speech, breaking down and admitting your mistakes. You just
have to carry through with poise and let yourself not be perfect.
The second tip was Avoid Equating Public Speaking to Your Self Worth. Basically, if you re a
successful professional who s worked hard for where they are in life right now, you

The Next War By Wilfred Owen
With the knowledge of war you have today, would you be willing to volunteer to sign up for the
front line?
Wilfred Owen, a World War One poet, revealed the unsettling subject matter of war by using his
own personal perspective to explore the harsh brutal reality of war.
Through sensory imagery, he portrayed the severe everlasting conditions. Owen s treatment for
shellshock at Craig Lockhart mental hospital influenced his writing and he was undergoing the
treatment when his first poem was published. His poems continued to be published even after his
death in November 1918, one week before the ceasefire.
Owen presents the horrific subject matter through Strange meeting , The Next Warand Anthem for
Doomed Youth . The shift in Owens tone explores his bitterness and shows that he begins to accept
the looming fact of his own impending death.
The mental implications of war on the soldiers challenged the way they functioned day to day. In
the Next War Owen demonstrates the mental implications through personifying death and engaging
the responder with sensory imagery.
He s spat at us with bullets and he s coughed as a result an image is created, the responder sees that
Owen s mental condition has him viewing everything as death. This was caused by his PTSD and
Shellshock, which was what prompted his treatment at Craig Lockhart, but it really reveals to the
responder that these implications last a lifetime.

Brief History on Californian Ingenuous People We have all heard the story of how America came
to be, and how Native Americans were pushed out because of this. In regards to the west coast, the
history is a bit different. There is evidence of natives living in California since from at least 17,000
BCE. Prior to contact with Europeans, the California region contained the highest native American
population north of what is now Mexico. Because of the temperate climate and easy access to food
sources, approximately one third of all Native Americans in the United States were living in
California. The Spanish began their long term occupation in California in 1769. California and its
Spanish Colonization were different from earlier efforts to simultaneously introduce missionaries
and colonists in their world conquest schemes. Organized by the driven Franciscan administrator

Teen Drug Use
Anchor: Tonight on Channel 1 News, we are going to be reporting on a huge issue amongst
teens...drug use. Teen drug use is an issue that is becoming more and more common and is
harming teens in just about all schools across the country. For more information on this topic we
now go over to Evan.
Reporter: Thanks Matt. Teen drug use has been an upcoming problem for many years. One survey
shows that 81% of teens have had the option to try drugs, and 42% of those teens have actually
given in and used them.
INTERVIEW: We are here with a student who asked to stay anonymous from a school in
Hammond ISD.

Interviewee: Surprisingly I haven t. I know many kids who have and even if I was offered drugs, I
would definitely reject them.
Interviewer(Reporter): We appreciate your willingness to speak with us today about this problem
in our country. We hope that you and kids across the U.S. see this story and choose to make the
decision that drugs are not worth the risk facing you and millions of other teens across the country.
Anchor: Thank you REPORTER(name). Now I would like to take a look at this graph. This
graph shows that almost 11% of teens age 13 through 15 who had never used drugs before have
now started to this year. If this trend continues, big problems will begin to emerge. If we can
bring this number down by just 5%, it would make a big difference and could decrease the
number of teens who use drugs drastically. This has been Channel 1 News on teen drug use. Have

The generation which sustained democracy through and after...
The generation which sustained democracy through and after the Second World War is dying,
and the baby boom that followed is passing into old age (Youniss 99). An older generation can
ignore addressing the issues of climate change, social security, and lack of cooperation among
elected officials, but today s children and youth have to deal with the consequences (98). A
democratic society should worry because we are not preparing youth to engage in politics and
community affairs (Syvertsen et al 593). A new electorate unwilling to act will allow these
problems to continue unattended and to worsen. A democracycannot maintain itself without active

These challenges demand a coherent response, forcing people to think better.
Public discussion is a key part of the deliberative arts, which teach students how to identify and
develop a plan to solve a problem. The first art is framing, in which the group identifies all
potential options for achieving a goal. The next art is democratic deliberation, where students
discuss each option and judge it in relation to the group s goal. The next is working together for
mutual goals, wherein each member has to resist the urge to solve the problem on their own.
Students must also learn how to work together over an extended time, and how to evaluate their
own goals, actions, and results (Fleming 43 44).
A high school business teacher in Howard, South Carolina used these practices together to show his
students how to affect change. He obtained a grant from a local university to study the community s
cash flow. He took the problem to his students, who then conducted meetings with local business
owners, consulted with county auditor, and surveyed community members. From the data they
found that people were spending money in larger cities some distance away. The class published
the results, and local residents read the study and responded by buying more locally. Annual taxes
exceeded projections, and the auditor estimated that taxes infused six to seven million dollars into
the local economy. This project

For this research, the companies researched were chosen based on the independent variable of
outcome success. When researching how operations and other factors affect a company s success,
the testing needs to include companies with different success levels. If the data are based only on
successful companies, there is not any comparison to show what they were doing differently to
make them successful. For example, all of the successful companies have an owner, but that is not
what makes them successful. All companies successful or not are owned by someone. The other
studies that Rosenzweig explains are 1994 Built to Last: Successful Habits of Visionary Companies
and 2001 Good to Great: Why Some Companies Make the Leap...and Other Don t. These studies
are considered more accurate on the basis of successful companies being compared to less
successful companies, but Rosenzweig points out a separate fault within. The latter cases did
extensive research, but the majority of the data came from publications and articles published by
journalists. Rosenzweig uses these to introduce the Halo Effect. He explains that these studies,
though they are more thorough with the samples, the data are based on highly on biased
information, instead of getting the raw data from the companies.

1.History and Introduction to the International Court of Justice
The traditional establishment of the ad hoc tribunals formed as a permanent Court of Arbitration ,
this organ so formed was under the League of Nations which was later replaced by The
International Court of Justice after the World War II [1].
The International court of Justice so formed is the principal judicial organ of the U.N. It is the
foundation of June, 1945 which holds seat at The Peace Palace, Hague, Netherlands. It began to
function (for the purpose of its establishment) in April, 1946. The organ is composed of 15
Judges, elected by the U.N G.A. and The Security council for each one to hold office for a term of
9 years. The assistance be by the REGISTRY who holds judicial and administrative functions during
the functioning of the court. The official languages are English and French.
The ICJ holds a Two fold Jurisdiction[2]:
1.Jurisdiction in Contentious Cases: The Court in its legal nature has authority to settle disputes
submitted to it by the states be it on unilateral application (when one states files against the other
state and is represented by v.) or on special agreement (represented by stroke / and is when both the
parties agree to move to the court for the settlement) basis, they being decided in accordance with

Toddler Room Proposal
I have been given the responsibility of stocking the toy room of the ABC Child Care Center with
toys that are appropriate for infants and toddlers as well as preschoolers. The toys need to be safe
and washable. They also need to enhance the physical, cognitive, social and emotional growth of
children from infancy to early childhood. The following contains my proposals. The first part will
encompass recommendations for the infant and toddler room followed by recommendations for
preschoolers.
For the infants and toddler room we want to find toys that will assist in developing reflexes, and
repeating, imitating, and goal oriented schemes. Experimentation is important in this stage, so we
need to find toys that will offer up trial and error scenarios ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In my experience, their toys also bring out the emotional side. They have sounds, flashing lights,
and enticing colors. Some of their toys include the Teach Elephant, Busy Learners Activity Cube,
and Teach My Baby Learning Kit. My son loves his Sit To Stand Learning Walker which also helps
with pulling himself up to stand, push and walk. For some reason his Catch Me Kitten brings out
his anger When that toy is on he chases it down, yells at it and proceeds to knock it down.
For the preschool playroom we want to build upon and encourage more skill development and
socialization. This age group is moving away from believing they are the center of the world and
into realization of others. We want to inspire initiation collaboration with others. We want to
improve intellectual stimulation and expand upon make believe play. This can be accomplished
through sociodramatic play. We also want toys that will improve upon language skills.
Thought, judgement and involvement are key. Aside from toys listed above, other age related toys
for this group include blocks, puppets, and art materials to incite creativity and imagination.
Fantasy Forts and doll houses help with socialization as well as imagination. Puzzles and games to
promote problem solving and accomplishment. See Saws and Rocking Horses for

Jesus Should Live A Hidden Life
If the Holy Spirit asked you to step away from your public platform of ministry and into a hidden
life before God alone, would you do it? If you agreed to live the hidden life for a period of time
and then were later presented with the option of regaining the spotlight in ministry, which lifestyle
would you choose? Rees Howells was faced with these very decisions while his ministry was
thriving. As Rees Howells grew in his relationship with Jesus, Rees began to remove his cap when
he prayed because he consistently felt the overwhelming presence of the Holy Spiritwith him. In
Wales during this time, however, everyone was expected to wear a hat or some sort of head
covering outside. Because Rees often did not wear a hat outdoors, the townspeople... Show more

Just as Rees had lived away from the spotlight for a time, the majority of Jesus life was not lived
before people; His public ministry lasted only for three years of His life. Jesus spent the majority
of His life in secret, living before the Father just as Rees had done. Additionally, in the same
manner that Rees brought others needs before the Throne, Jesus also represents us before our
Father as our Intercessor.
The second reason that Rees should have continued to live a hidden life is that he spent more
time with Jesus. When Rees had decided to continue living in the secret place, the Holy Spirit
invited him to spend his entire days sitting in God s presence and talking with Him. Because Rees
devoted his days to the Lord, he experienced such sweet fellowship with Him. By continually
worshipping and growing in his faith, Rees made the most of his time and spent it well.
The third reason that Rees should have continued his hidden lifestyle is that he was set apart.
Making the decision to continue living a hidden life is not what most would have decided to do; it
is not in our nature. Because Rees decided to continue this lifestyle, some thought that he was
foolish. Rees s walk of faith would not and should not look like anyone else s; therefore, he should

Essay on Owen Meany

creates the character of Owen as a foil to John, the protagonist. Owen Meany embodies the

With Owen gone, he has no one to tell him what his next move will consist of. He ends up going
into graduate school because he fears the day when he actually has to make a decision about
what he will do for the rest of his life. Technically he does make a decision for the rest of his life
by going to school for a degree in English, but I see this as the easy way out. Owen has no
hesitation when it comes to his future and his decision making: Owen Meany got his
scholarship to the University of New Hampshire; he signed up for the ROTC... This certainty
could also stem from Owen s strong relationship with god. He is gods instrument, making every
action meaningful, making every move count. John has a weak relationship with god and is left
doubting the existence of a higher power and a purpose for himself. The productivity deck is
stacked in Owens favor because John has to play his own game; he is not just a chess piece
being directed by God. He has no idea if his next day will be his last or if his next decision will
matter in the least, where as Owen just follows his road map to the date on his grave. nbsp; nbsp;
nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; There is a Motif in this book that pertains to Casualties in Vietnam. Through John
we see the crippling effects of the War in Vietnam on citizens across America. We see his
indecision for the direction of the rest of his life.

The New Right Essay
Starting during the 1970s, factions of American conservatives slowly came together to form a new
and more radical dissenting conservative movement, the New Right. The New Right was just as
radical as its liberal opposite, with agendas to increase government involvement beyond the
established conservative view of government s role. Although New Right politicians made
admirable advances to dissemble New Deal economic policies, the movement as a whole counters
conservativism and the ideologies that America was founded on. Although the New Right adopts
conservative economic ideologies, its social agenda weakened the conservative movement by
focusing public attention to social and cultural issues that have no place within the established Old

George Gilder stays true to Old Right s pure market position in his book Wealth and Poverty,
where he promoted uncurbed capitalism and pure free enterprise. He rejected all forms of welfare
and redistribution, arguing that current welfare and other subsidy programs substantially reduce
work and incurs bitter resistance of the real working class . Gilder strayed from establishment
ideology when he added a moral element to his position, citing monogamous heterosexual marriage
as a requirement for upward mobility. Gilder is an example of how New Right intellectuals
borrowed Old Right economic theory and then tainted it by adding elements of morality and
traditionalism.
The Old Right also found common ground with Reagan s measures to deregulate business,
however many argued that he did not expand the policies enough. Reagan froze new regulations
and ordered a rollback of existing rules to decrease bureaucracy within federal regulation and

The Enteroctopus Dofleini is the Giant Pacific Octopus
The Enteroctopus dofleini, also known as the Giant Pacific Octopus, is an octopus which can
range from 3 to 5 meter from top of the head to the tip of its arms (9.75 feet to 16 feet) and its
arm range is typically six feet long. The Giant Pacific octopus is reddish brown and on average
is 132 pounds. The body of the octopus is bulb shaped and contains all of the its organs and its

The History Of Data Encryption Technology Essay
This paper discusses the history of data encryption technology. It also touches on several aspects
of data encryption technology. Furthermore, an attempt will be made to answer several key
questions like what is data encryption technology (DET). It will also detail some of the history
of DET, how DET affects the lives of people in America, and some of the future implications of
this technology. DET can be defined as the translation or changing of information/data into some
form of a secret code through a process of encryption (Merriam Webster Dictionary, 2016). This
process of encryption is key to DET because it requires the writers and readers of such encrypted
information to be able to decode that data using a secret key, or some sort of password, or
algorithm to decrypt the originally encrypted code (Sans Institute, page 4, 2001). Believe it or not,
there is a long history behind data encryption technology (Sans Institute, page 4, 2001). As a
matter of fact, the history of DET goes way back in time (Pfleeger, page 3, 2002). For example,
around 900 BC, an Egyptian scribe used non standard hieroglyphs in an inscription. (Sans Institutue,
page 6, 2001). Since those ancient times until now, there have been great advancements in DET,
and its applications. Hundreds of years later, Assyrian merchants in the 1500 BC time frame were
using pieces of a flat stone with carved inscriptions on them called intaglio in trading transactions

Factors Affecting The Medical Decision Making And Disease...
The primary issues presented in this case are related to the cultural as well as the religious factors

knit Hasidic Jewish community where daily life is built on ancient laws and religious devotion. The
Cohen family have acknowledged that their daughter requires treatment for her medical condition,
but are struggling to find a compromise between their religious and cultural beliefs and the cf

from their rabbi. At the present time, the CF treatment team has established a treatment plan, but the
Cohens are having a difficult time adhering to this plan due to several factor that will be discussed.

Aaron Beck s Theory Of Depression
CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION
Different studies showed that adolescents do not sleep adequately and inadequate sleep is usually
related with greater risk for depression, furthermore studies usually get urban adolescents as their
sample and scarcity of research in rural adolescents (Daly, 2015).
Sleep disturbance is the great cause for depression, functional impairment, falls, poor quality of life,
and poor health (Martin, 2010). Furthermore according to the American Psychiatric Association
(2013), sleep disorders usually come along with depression, anxiety and cognitive changes. One of
the major causes of the problem of disease in the world is depression (Lee et al., 2014). Depression

This theory was developed by Aaron Beck in 1967. The said theory is a diathesis stress model
associated to predisposing factors, the factors that cause people to become hopeless or vulnerable
when depressed, precipitating factors, the events that cause people vulnerability, and perpetuating
factors, the factors that maintain and cause of return of the depression (Grant et al., 2010).
According to Beck negative dysfunctional attitudes could be the cause of cognitive triad which is
thinking in a way of seeing the self, the world and the future negatively (Possel Black, 2013). Beck
(1967) said that people who are depressed perceive the world with many hindrances and this person
communicates with the environment negatively.
Esbensen and associates (2007) reported that people who are depressed limit their rational and
obvious explanations and automatically perceive situations negatively. And also Brewin (1998)
stated that existence of depressing thoughts affects individual s ability to process information
consciously that could cause symptoms for depression namely, sleep disturbance, delusions,

Baseball Club History
The history of baseball in the United States can be traced to the 18th century, when amateurs
played a baseball like game by their own informal rules using improvised equipment. The popularity
of the sport inspired the semipro national baseball clubs in the 1860s.
The earliest known mention of baseball in the U.S was a 1791 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts,
ordinance banning the playing of the game within 80 yards of the town meeting house. In 1903,
a British sportswriter Henry Chadwick published an article speculating that baseball derived
from a British game called rounders. The first team to play baseball under modern rules were the
New York Knickerbockers. The club was founded on September 23, 1845, as a social club for the
upper middle classes of New York City, and was strictly amateur until it disbanded. The club
members, which included its president Doc Adams and Alexander Cartwright, formulated the
Knickerbocker Rules, which in large part dealt with organizational matters but which also laid out
rules for playing the game. Among the rules ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Modern High Fat Diet
The modern high fat diet commonly referred to as a ketogenic diet can be achieved in a manner
not unlike a normal carbohydrate diet. Where roasts and salmon and vegetables are not just a
normal part of the diet but essential. Though it is dangerous to start a ketogenic diet without a little
bit of research. This is due to many essential nutrients that we normally source through plants such
as wheat, potatoes, rice, and corn, which are extremely high in carbohydrate. With these foods
being too high in carbohydrates to be a significant portion of one s diet when on a ketogenic diet,
one must search for alternatives. Spinach, avocado, and Swiss chard for instance is a very good
source of potassium, magnesium, and fiber. Let us break this down. Potassium is essential for
maintaining a regular heartbeat. Magnesium is used to make proteins and regulate nerve function.
Both magnesium and potassium deficiency can cause the development of psychological conditions.
Finally fiber helps the body keep itself clean. Though one may find that despite many excellent
alternative sources of required nutrients, the foods that one could prepare may seem very foreign to
what one has known. It is important to know that lacking any of these materials can result in
serious side effects. In many cases it is often necessary to supplement during the initial dietary
switch as one takes for granted the abundant quantities of potassium magnesium and calcium in the
common staple diet. So while fat is the

This is verified by the fact that all of the profits of Capital were to be distributed to Eastfield
through a dividend payment. Secondly, the subsidiary must be actively conducting the business as
appointed by the parent. Since Capital Pty Ltd was initially set up for the financing needs of
Eastfield, and solely used the workforce of Eastfield, this second criteria is met. Further, since
Eastfield decided on a strategic plan which called for a new corporate structure , essentially
supplying the debt finance for Eastfield, it can be said that Eastfield was the head and brain of this
trading venture, thus meeting the third criteria. Additionally, as Eastfield decided all decisions
regarding this capital funding structure, the 4th agency principle is met; whereby the parent
company governs the venture and determining capital structure. Since Capital earned significant
interest income...from the repayment of the various loans...undertaken by Eastfield it can be
established that the parent company, Eastfield, maintained profits through its own skill and
direction towards the subsidiary. Lastly, the parent company must be in constant and effectual
control, which is confirmed by the fact that all the directors of the subsidiary company, sit on the
board of the parent company, thus establishing constant and effective control. Through the above

certain rhythm so the audience can easily enjoy the music like if a track plays with fast and slow

East And East Berlin Wall Economic Analysis
The Belin Wall: a Divide between Two Economies
When the prominent Indian economist B. R. Shenoy visited Berlin in 1960, he witnessed two
completely differing parts of the same city (Shenoy). A wall divided Berlin into two separate
areas, West Berlin and East Berlin. West Berlin, a capitalist economy, boomed with economic
freedom and prosperity. While East Berlin, a command economy, verged on economic collapse.
The example of West and East Berlin demonstrates that a capitalist economy, also known as a free
market economy, is better than a command economy. To understand the origin of the different
economic situations of the same city, it is necessary to look back in history to the end of World
War II. Two months after victory in Europe, on July 1945, France, Britain, the United States, and
the Soviet Union met to determine what to do with conquered Germany. They divided the county
into four zones, one zone for each of the victor nations (Gaps). The French, British, and United
States zones joined in 1949, becoming ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Wilfred Owen, a World War One poet, revealed the unsettling subject matter of war by using his own personal perspective to explore the harsh brutal reality of war. Through sensory imagery, he portrayed the severe everlasting conditions. Owen s treatment for shellshock at Craig Lockhart mental hospital influenced his writing and he was undergoing the treatment when his first poem was published. The shift in Owens tone explores his bitterness and shows that he begins to accept the looming fact of his own impending death. In the Next War Owen demonstrates the mental implications through personifying death and engaging the responder with sensory imagery. He s spat at us with bullets and he s coughed as a result an image is created, the responder sees that Owen s mental condition has him viewing everything as death. The generation which sustained democracy through and after the Second World War is dying, and the baby boom that followed is passing into old age (Youniss 99). An older generation can ignore addressing the issues of climate change, social security, and lack of cooperation among elected officials, but today s children and youth have to deal with the consequences (98). A democratic society should worry because we are not preparing youth to engage in politics and community affairs (Syvertsen et al 593). A new electorate unwilling to act will allow these problems to continue unattended and to worsen. These challenges demand a coherent response, forcing people to think better. Public discussion is a key part of the deliberative arts, which teach students how to identify and develop a plan to solve a problem. The first art is framing, in which the group identifies all potential options for achieving a goal. The next art is democratic deliberation, where students discuss each option and judge it in relation to the group s goal. The next is working together for mutual goals, wherein each member has to resist the urge to solve the problem on their own. Students must also learn how to work together over an extended time, and how to evaluate their own goals, actions, and results (Fleming 43 44). A high school business teacher in Howard, South Carolina used these practices together to show his students how to affect change. He obtained a grant from a local university to study the community s cash flow. He took the problem to his students, who then conducted meetings with local business owners, consulted with county auditor, and surveyed community members. From the data they found that people were spending money in larger cities some distance away. The class published the results, and local residents read the study and responded by buying more locally. Annual taxes exceeded projections, and the auditor estimated that taxes infused six to seven million dollars into the local economy. This project ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For this research, the companies researched were chosen based on the independent variable of outcome success. When researching how operations and other factors affect a company s success, the testing needs to include companies with different success levels. If the data are based only on successful companies, there is not any comparison to show what they were doing differently to make them successful. For example, all of the successful companies have an owner, but that is not what makes them successful. All companies successful or not are owned by someone. The other studies that Rosenzweig explains are 1994 Built to Last: Successful Habits of Visionary Companies and 2001 Good to Great: Why Some Companies Make the Leap...and Other Don t. The latter cases did extensive research, but the majority of the data came from publications and articles published by journalists. Rosenzweig uses these to introduce the Halo Effect. He explains that these studies, though they are more thorough with the samples, the data are based on highly on biased information, instead of getting the raw data from the companies. Furthermore, an attempt will be made to answer several key questions like what is data encryption technology (DET). It will also detail some of the history of DET, how DET affects the lives of people in America, and some of the future implications of this technology. DET can be defined as the translation or changing of information/data into some form of a secret code through a process of encryption (Merriam Webster Dictionary, 2016). This process of encryption is key to DET because it requires the writers and readers of such encrypted information to be able to decode that data using a secret key, or some sort of password, or algorithm to decrypt the originally encrypted code (Sans Institute, page 4, 2001). Believe it or not, there is a long history behind data encryption technology (Sans Institute, page 4, 2001). As a matter of fact, the history of DET goes way back in time (Pfleeger, page 3, 2002). For example, around 900 BC, an Egyptian scribe used non standard hieroglyphs in an inscription. (Sans Institutue, page 6, 2001). Since those ancient times until now, there have been great advancements in DET, and its applications. Hundreds of years later, Assyrian merchants in the 1500 BC time frame were using pieces of a flat stone with carved inscriptions on them called intaglio in trading transactions (Sans Institutue, page 8, ...
