Tom Sawyer Rhetorical Analysis
Humor Uses of Hypocritical in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer
Mark Twain claimed in his letter to a friend about The Adventures of Tom Sawyer: It is not a boy
s book, at all. It will only be read by adults. It is only written for adultss (Wall 113). Mark Twain s
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is a novel about youths, but reviews great truths and philosophy of
the society. The book is too profound for children to understand the moral. He uses a view of a
child to express the humor of the implication of youth s behavior, the ironic religious events, and
hypocritical society.
a. The implication of Youth s behaviors
As the whole story was told by the voice of a teenager, their behaviors were also implicated Mark
Twain s language of humor. For example, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Suddenly, the crowds turned sorrow into happy for them alive; afterwards, the attitude people
treated them before would never appear, but would be better than ever. Humans are always acting
like this that no one knows which emotion they express is true. There was also an episode during
this farce and Tom concealed the truth from every character in the book. Actually, Tom was too
wistful to sleep on the island that he slipped to home covertly and witnessed Aunt Polly was truly
inconsolable, which aroused his eager to go home; however, he described this incident as his dream
because he knew that Aunt Polly would punish him anyway. Although at some point the society
was hypocritical, there still existed the real affection between families to warm the readers

Islam and Jihad Essay
The Arabic word Jihad literally means holy struggle . It is not holy war. War is war. No war can
be holy. The blood of humans is holy and sacred. The Quran says unjust killing of one man means
the killing of the whole mankind. What is just killing and what is unjust killing. When some body
kills a man without any reason or justification it is unjust killing. When the judge gives the capital
punishment to this murderer and issues the order of his death, it is a just killing. Similarly, when a
war is thrust upon you and you become the victim of persecution and aggression, you are permitted
to defend yourselves and kill the invaders or perpetrators. There are some Muslims who believe in

Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad gave us law and code of life. All preached
brotherhood, justice, freedom, equality and peace. The prophets were the greatest champions of
human rights. They boldly revolted against the tyrants, oppressors and aggressors.
Jihad by sword is only permissible when you are attacked. It is unfortunate that Islam is being
branded as the religion of extremists, fascists, fundamentalists and terrorists. A few days ago
some non Muslim emailed me. He wrote; Islam is the religion of terrorism and Muhammad was
a terrorist. Why he wrote this? How he came to such a conclusion? First; he has neither studied
Islam nor the life of the Prophet of Islam. Second he has read or seen the terrorist activities of
some Muslim hard liners and extremists. Partly he is correct and partly he is incorrect. The
Quran about mischief mongers and the enemies of peace candidly in Sura The Cow ; when it is
said to them; В‘make not mischief on the earth . They say; В‘we are only ones that put things
right . Of a surety, they are the ones who make mischief, but they realize it not (2:11 12). The
serious, objective and rational study of the Quran testifies this verity that Islam strongly condemns
bloodshed and aggression. It is a religion of peace. The Meccans attacked Muhammad thrice. The
battle of Badr; the battle of Uhad and the battle of Trench are solid proofs of the fact that the

* The cost of entry test: the cost of entry need not capitalize the prospective income. 1. The
attractiveness test: Either the industry operating has to be attractive in nature or it should at least
have the capacity to turn attractive in the near future. (Porter, 2009) The relationship between
responsiveness and supply chain cost is regarded as substitution. The synergy factor is
highlighted through identification of the different scope of supply chain responsiveness. The
conclusions derived from this analysis are as follows: a. The identification and exploitation of
synergy has helped supply chain managers to identify the problem and take actions accordingly
which could implement responsiveness and drive costs down. b. By considering the specific
extent of responsiveness, the organization increases the potential to find synergistic relationships
which can be used for competitive advantage. ii) Portfolio theory (Outside In) eggs in multiple

A Community Meal And The Gas Stove
One of the first things that we need to do to formulate a strategy and immediate one or an
emerging one is to evaluate all the assets that the congregation has. This falls into two categories
The physical assets of property and the assets of members of the congregation s meaning what their
gifts and graces are on a personal level that could help the ministryof the church that they would be
to give. This being said we know from the case study the size of the building and when it was last
renovated but we needto be checking in making sure there s not anything that could be inhibit the
use of any of the equipment or rooms that may not have been used in a while. Such as making

The size of the congregation and the number in our team is beneficial because there are not too
many congregants yet at the same time there is enough staff that we can break up and tackle all
of the congregation at once or break up and assignment a few members of our team to interview
all of the congregants either through home visits or meals with the congregants. The
congregants interviews would be two fold to first ask them what you think are the strengths of
the congregation and what they think the congregation can bring to the community. The second
would be to get to know the congregants on an individual basis to ascertain their level of
involvement as well as what their gifts and graces are. Another avenue to finding these things
out can be a survey or what I have seen it in some congregations A volunteer form with different
ideas for new ministries and see what people would be willing to help with. Not only would we
use these forms and interviews to find out what they would be willing to help with more
importantly what they are in need of that as well. We have to remember The congregation is at the
top of priorities and so there needs need to be evaluated as well. Wall interviewing congregants and
beginning to work at the church through preaching and leading worship a part of the team needs to
begin surveying the surrounding area. We have some of this information that there are new shops

The Beginning Of Expansion Of The Middle Class
Post World War II United States was a significant period of time when the lifestyle of American
people changed dramatically. Long period of economic booms brought mass suburbanization and
people purchased their own home appliances, houses, and automobiles. As a matter of fact, in the
background of the change of American lifestyle, there were repeated technological innovations.
Successful mass productions of goods accelerated buying activities, which promoted the economic
development in the United States. This was the beginning of expansion of the middle class; some
people get enough money to succeed in having a happy life in the United States with family.
However, when the status of family in a community was considered, proper management of money
was necessary to keep their lives. Handful choices of buying goods or products with satisfaction
made American Dream possible, but buying activities changed the social statusof people for better
or worse at the same time.
As is well known, American Dream is an idea of success that can be gained by effort and
sometimes saving money. It generally requires having a good life as a middle class or higher class
family who do not struggle with financial problems. Certainly, being able to buy something that a
person wants represents that he/she is capable to be at least middle class whether or not they can
buy then and there. Purchasing something one needs and something one wants sounds similar, but
they are different. The economic

explain your answer in a short paragraph. (5 points) False, the scientific method is limited to those
phenomena which can be observed or measured. Due to the need to have completely controlled
experiments to test a hypothesis, science cannot prove everything. Science is meant to give us a
better understanding of the mysteries of the natural world. So with that being said science is good
at explaining how things work but not necessarily for explaining why do such things exist or for

Describe what you understand by independent variable and dependent variable in a scientific
study? ( 5 points) An independent variable is something you have control over, what you can
choose and manipulate. It is a variable that stands alone and doesn t change by other variables.
Although in some cases, you may not be able to manipulate the independent variable. It could be
already there and or fixed. A dependent variable is the variable that s being tested in an experiment.
If the experimenter changes the independent variable, the change in the dependent variable is
observed and recorded. For example a scientist is testing the effect of light and dark on the behavior
of moths by turning a light on and off. The independent variable is the amount of light and the moth
s reaction is dependent variable. A change in the independent variable (amount of light) directly

Descriptive Essay On 911
911
I have always wondered what it would be like to call 911 and talk to the dispatcher. I have
wondered what it would be like to watch the paramedics do their jobs and tend to someone in
need. I have always been so thankful I never had to experience it even though it would be cool to
see. I have always been the kind of person to thinks something bad won t happen to me. I have
always had pretty good luck I haven t gotten hurt bad enough and I have never really had anyone in
my family get really hurt, until last month.
Last month my mom and stepdad went to a family friend s wedding. We had worked out in the
yard all day painting the house and doing yard work. We would later realise this was the cause to
our problem. My mom left my step dad at the wedding to come watch my cross country meet. We
got home around 5 and waited for him get home from the wedding. Drew had gotten home
around twelve after the reception. When he got home he was perfectly normal he wasn t drunk
but he had been drinking after we talked about the wedding everyone went to bed. It was
thunderstorming and I was sound asleep. Around 4:00 in the morning I heard a huge clap of
thunder that shook the whole house. Seconds later I heard my mom scream Taylor, taylor I knew
it wasn t a thunderclap, it was my step dad s head hitting the tile on the kitchen floor. I grabbed
my phone and sprinted upstairs I tried so hard to call 911 but I was shaking. My mom took the

is not observed as cases reported in this article include both sexes, age range reported is broad from
31 to 70 years old the location and clinical appearance of each oral lesion were different. Author
has reported and discussed each case and analyzed similarities and differences in all case reports.
As per my opinion this study has following issues:
The literature review was detailed explaining the etiology diagnosis and treatment of the disease
however limited literature references were mentioned to support the conclusion that, Oral cavity
lesions can be the first sign of relapse or succession of myeloma.1
Only 5 cases were reported which limits study evidence. More number of cases should be observed
to confirm the conclusion.
The purpose of the study and final conclusion do not match. In the study purpose it was mentioned
that, oral cavity lesions could be indicative of palpable disease and/or recurrence of myeloma
however in the conclusion it was stated that, oral cavity lesions can be the first sign of recurrence
or progression of multiple myeloma .1

Totalitarianism In Germany
Life for people in Germany wasn t better under the Nazi rule in the years 1933 and 1939. The
Great Depression before Hitler came into power caused the citizens of Germany to lose their
standard of living and jobs. The topics that are to be discussed are the development of the
totalitarian state also the positive and negative effects on Germanyat the time that Hitler was in
power.
The Treaty of Versailles was introduced after WWI, the purpose of this treaty was to start a Peace
treaty with Versailles and the Germans who also had to respect and follow what the treaty said
which meant that the blame had to be accepted without argument, a reparation had to be paid, The

Hitler relied on organisations such as the SS, Gestapo and the SA to show his power throughout
the whole of Germany this is so he could gain even more power and the citizens would listen and
respect his ways. Not many of the citizens liked the way Hitler ruled and others were happy due
to the better economy after The Great Depression and The Treaty of Versailles (Treaty of
Versailles PPT, 2015). Some of the youth in Germany was brainwashed due to the Jewish and
anti Nazi teachers being forced out of their jobs due to get the youth to believe in the Nazi ideas,
Catholic Youth Leagues were also broken even after there was an agreement signed with the
pope, the catholic priests had been arrested and the teaching of religions was bad (Hitler s
Dictatorship and the Third Reich, N.d., No author). Hitler had decided to create his own Reich
church that had Nazis as bishops (bbc.co.uk, 2015). If the ways that Hitler ruled was questioned
then the people would be liable for arrested if the rules were followed then they wouldn t come in
contact with the SS also Known as Gestapo. These are the ways that Hitler managed to take over
most of the society and how some believed that it was done for the better of the country (bbc.co.uk,

Persuasive Essay On Dental Care
We all have 32 teeth in our mouth and they are indispensable. The tooth, in itself, consists of two
parts: the root buried in the bone and the crown that is in the oral cavity. In addition, the cost of a
quality brush is now quite low compared to the many benefits.
Dental care can help in many cases: to restore a devitalized tooth, to cover and support a tooth
that has a large filling when there is not much left healthy material, to protect a weakened tooth,
to cover a dental implant it is fixed with cement or is glued, to restore a broken cracked or very
worn tooth and to cover a poorly formed or discolored tooth. Dental care is usually reimbursed by
insurance.
The gum is the part of the oral mucosa that covers the maxillary bone and the mandible at the
level of the tooth implantation area. First of all, let s give you a little reminder of what dental care
is and why it is needed. Remember, many dental practices also offer periodontal dentistry, which is
gum care.
Regular brushing of the teeth allows removal of plaque. Today, the brush does almost everything
alone. The purpose of these devices is to eliminate food residues and dental plaque in the most
inaccessible areas of the mouth.
Different instruments allow to get rid of tartar. That s why dentists today almost unanimously
recommend the use of the electric toothbrush. Its micro pulsations and rotational movements are the
enemy of tartar. The tartar is then taken off. It is therefore an effective preventive weapon

Negative Effects Of Fast Fashion Industry
unionized, and they do not receive minimum pay. They have no benefits, and many say that these
workers have too little income to want to contribute to social security (WIEGO). The workers have
to work in unsuitable conditions, damaging their health and safety, but fast fashion also has an
advantage on the lives of citizens or garment workers.
Despite the various negative impacts that the fast fashion industry is causing for developing
countries, garment work is a significant part of many third world countries. Working in garment
production at home can allow women to earn an income and help with children and at home
(WIEGO). Many countries such as Bangladesh, India, Cambodia and Bangkok, the fast fashion
manufacturing makes up most of the countries export earnings. According to Mobarak, a professor
of economics at Yale, garment factory jobs bring about meaningful development for women. Instead
of banning imports from Bangladesh, as has been suggested, we should instead work to improve
safety. Cultures and villages surrounding the garment and textile industry have also seen decreases
of early marriage and childbirth, which allows more women to gain an education and work.
Many women and girls who live near a garment factory are 28% less likely to be married and
29% less likely to have given birth than those living in villages farther away from a factory
(Mobarak). Delays in early marriage and childbirth arise from more younger girls pursuing an
education to obtain skills needed to get a garment factory job. These factories may create a more
meaningful life for women near factories. However, the manufacturing of clothing has impacted the
cities, villages and the environment nearby.
Fast fashion and the clothing industry have made its way to become the second greatest polluting
industry in the world. Uzbekistan, which is one of the leading producers of cotton, has lost one of
the primary sources of water for the production of cotton and has spread toxins and carcinogens into
the air, impacting neighboring communities (Michels). Dying practices for clothing have majorly
contaminated rivers and water sources as well. One dangerous chemical, nonylphenol ethoxylate,
which has been banned in the EU, can still be

The Conspiracy Of Suppression Of Alternative Energy
The Conspiracy of suppression of Alternate Energy
There are many ways of alternate energy that can replace the need for oil and gas in the United
States. And the reason it could do that is because the forms of energy come from the environment
and are not harmful to it. Plus they are a lot cheaper than oil and gas prices. The government
suppresses some advanced energies for fear of their enemies getting these technologies and using
the technologies against them. So the two biggest reasons for suppressing energy are to save
money, and to keep us safe in a way. The conspiracy of the government and oil/gas corporations
suppressing free, alternate forms of energy makes sense, and there are many reasons for this; one
being, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Of course the majority of the public would start using free , clean energy sources instead of
using expensive sources of energy that harm the earth. So in order to stop that, they make
committees that go around and pick up alternate forms of energy that are invented and remove
them from public access so the people won t switch over to those energy sources. Then if the
inventor wants to patent it and make it public, they must go through the patent office and wait a
year. This is also how they slow down production of alternate energy. They make them wait a
year before making it public so they can make more money during that year. The oil and gas
monopolies are suppressing energy for the wrong reasons. They are doing it for money, and not
for the greater good. In essence if the whole public switched to alternate energy there wouldn t be
any more need for gas or oil because there are enough forms of energy to replace them. But by
stopping these alternate energies oil and gas companies can continue to make money. Alternate
energy is cheap today. For example, in California solar developers have bought contracts for
alternate energy over natural gas because it is cheaper and more efficient. Also alternate energy
produces more jobs than fossil fuels do, so the actual company itself doesn t make as much
money. That would also be another reason why companies suppress alternate energy. Also some
alternate energy prices cannot be compared to fossil fuels because they are suppressed by the
receipt of state and federal incentives. The world will be used up a lot quicker if corporations and
companies continue to suppress alternate energy just for

Old Spice Rhetorical Devices
Authors can convey abstract ideas or non existent characters to life with the assistance of rhetorical
devices by communicating the nature of emotions to the intended audience. Allowing the audience
to connect and relate with the abstract ideas. The usage of apostrophe can be found in literature
and even in media. The usage of apostrophe is most evident within the Old Spicecommercials.
Isaiah Mustafa plays the role as the man your man could smell like in the commercial, who narrates

Pointing towards the king s chamber covered in blood, Macbeth acknowledges the dagger s
presence and communicates with it. With mixed feelings, Macbeth encounters contradicting
thoughts on executing the king in effort to gain power. The dagger symbolizes Macbeth s bloody
destiny, and Macbeth s vision of this dagger is one of the many hallucinations and visions that
creates a motif of deception throughout the play. Closely related with apostrophe, personification is
a rhetorical device used to give human characteristics to objects, inanimate ideas, and animals.
Apostrophe is a term used when a speaker directly addresses someone or something that is not
present (Shmoop). For example, the stars danced playfully in the moonlit sky. The stars are
personified, given human characteristics, with human abilities to dance. Thus, we can say that the
star has been personified in the give sentence. In an apostrophe, persons are merely referred to,

Internet Filters Affecting Educational Research
Problematic
A shocking 37% of educational websites are most likely to be blocked when internet filters are
applied to the school internet. This affects educational research for schools, however, this seems to
be overlooked quite often. With this in mind we should allow schools to provide unfiltered internet
access because online censorship causes educational research to be more strenuous the filters used
can be easily bypassed by a VPN (Virtual Private Network), and having unfiltered internet access
prepares kids for this unfiltered world we prosper in.
When you live in an unfiltered world trying to strain and filter the web isn t a solution in fact, itВґs
more of a problem on the same subject as Melinda D. Anderson in her study she stated, ВЁIf we
believe any technical solution like filtering will keep us totally safe, that is
misplacedВЁ(Anderson). We can t play pretend and act as if this world is a soft and kid friendly

African Of African American Culture
There is no doubt that African Americans have a rich cultural background and history like the many
different ethnic groups who settled in the New World, whose origins lie in another country. For this
reason, America was known as the melting pot. However, the backgrounds of each of these cultures
were not always understood or, in the case of African Americans, accepted among the New World
society and culture. Americans were ignorant to the possibility of differences among groups of
people until information and ideas started to emerge, particularly, the African retention theories.
This sparked an interest in the field of African culture and retention in African Americans. However,
the study of African Americanculture truly emerged as a result of increased awareness in America,
specifically through the publication and findings of scholarly research and cultural events like the
Harlem Renaissance where all ethnicities were able to see this rich historical culture of African
Americans.
There were many who became dedicated to this field of study, but two of the most predominant
researchers and scholars of the African retention theories were Lorenzo Turner and Melville
Herskovits. While both researchers examined different aspects of culture, Herskovits and Turner
were both convinced that there was indeed African retention in African American cultureand
society (Wade Lewis 402). Turner specifically researched linguistic retention, while Herskovits
researched many aspects of the

Meade was one of many. He showed great leadership skills not only in multiple battles of the

George Meade was a great general who fought bravely in the war and ultimately helped the Union
win at Gettysburg because he helped repel Lee s troops simultaneously.
George was born in CГЎdiz, Spain on December 31st. He was the ninth child of Richard and

Sharks are faced with many challenges due to this sort of habitat, especially in regards to oxygen.

Letter To Lululemon Essay
Thank you for taking the time to read my letter today. Lululemon is a store, which I visit often,
due to the clothing being modern and popular. However, I am writing you today to address a
problem I ran into at your stores and to propose a possible solution.
I noticed that Lululemon clothing prices are marked up a great percentage than what a fair price
would be. The fabric advertised is a special mix, Luon. However, after completing research, many
brands, such as Athleta and Adidas, use a similar mix and their pants are lower in price. This would
not be so much of a problem for Lululemon if the quality matched the price. Yet, there have been
complaints from Lululemon customers where the clothing displayed pilling or sheerness after just a
few washes something I too have experienced. A customerexpects good quality from their clothing,
especially if they are willing to spend a large amount of money on it.
I have a proposal to solve the problem. A successful solution would include the criteria of being
affordable for everyone, creating a competitive market with athletic brands, and maintaining the
quality of clothing.
My solution is to lower the price of the clothing to match the quality. This would create a fair price
that would compete with other athletic clothing stores. On the ... Show more content on

With this solution being said, there are potential objections. First of all, it could be argued that
Lululemon would lose money by lowering the cost of clothing. This is not necessarily true as
people already buy the clothing at the current price. Therefore, lowering the price would
theoretically increase the sales dramatically, which in turn means Lululemon is making more
money. A second objection is the fact that the pants are expensive due to the brand name. While this
is true, having an even slightly lower price would attract more customers and grow the brand

Lust In Romeo And Juliet
In one of the most highly renown love tragedies written in history, Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet
explains the highly debated notion of love at first sight through the relationship between the two
star crossed lovers , Romeo and Juliet. Though many can argue that this relationship between the
two is only for lust, it is clearly shown in the play that the family rivaled couple is truly in love.
Through Juliet s decisiveness and maturity, Juliet shows that her relationship with Romeo is not
about lust, but about true love. First, Juliet experiences her first moment of true love when she
meets Romeo at the Capulet Masquerade. In the beginning of the play, Juliet is seen as a young,
inexperienced teenager not ready for love. As she meets

Myosin Light Chain
All organisms, from humans to simple bacteria, have a necessity to move in order to adapt to
changes in their external or internal environment, navigate towards food, and avoid dangers. Even
cells are teeming with motion as they reorganize organelles, nucleic acids, and proteins. At the
molecular level, two types of elements assist in the control movements of the cell and the organism
as a whole: molecular motor proteins and intricate complexes of proteinfilaments that make up the
cytoskeleton of the cell (Vale and Milligan, 2000). Myosinis a family of motor protein that act as
enzymes in the hydrolysis of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) to form adenosine diphosphate (ADP)
and inorganic phosphate (Pi), The energy released by this reaction to drive the movement of
molecules and contraction of muscle fibers (Grigorenko et al., 2007). A remarkable part of

In the N terminal region, the heavy chain forms a motor domain that is globular in structure. The
motor domain has an О± helix that extends from the C terminus, which becomes part of the light

around the О± helix to thicken and support its structure. The motor domains can be divided into
three domains: the actin binding site, the nucleotide binding site (P loop NTPase domain core as an
ATP catalytic site), and the converter domain. A converter domain is present at the junction
between the ATP catalytic site of the motor domain and the light chain binding domain. The
converter domain and the light chain binding domain compose the lever arm , which has a

A World Lit Only By Fire
A World Lit Only By Fire by William Manchester is not only informative of the conflicts that
occurred in Europe, but it is humorous and includes perspectives and anecdotes that are not viewed
as impartial. It is structured into three separate sections: The Medieval Mind, The Shattering and
One Man Alone.
The first section effectively talks about the substantial events that occurred in the year 500; this
includes the fall of the Roman Empire and the reasons that lie behind its fall. Manchester continues
on by speaking of the Dark Ages that instantaneously followed the collapse of the Roman Empire.
He speaks of the Black Death and how Europe experienced multiple climatic changes , such as
severe flooding. The second section contains ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Erasmus ridiculed those who thought this way, a tactic he used skillfully in order to gain more
followers. He published a book named Encomium Moriae, translated as The Praise of Folly. The
book was originally created to amuse Erasmus s friend, Thomas More. The book includes a
bantering tone and clearly attacks theologians of this time period. The mere thought of this book
angered the priests and of course, this did not stop Erasmus from spreading his statements of
ridicule across the lands of which he travelled. It did not take long for Erasmus to target Pope
Julius II, nicknamed The Fearsome Pope and The Warrior Pope . Erasmus produced a skit that was
created to ridicule Pope Julius II to all extents; it was named Iulias exclusus. Soon after Pope
Julius II s death, the skit spread like wild fire amongst the communities, quickly becoming the
hot topic of various cities. The Roman Curia of the Holy See were very displeased with Erasmus
and his actions. The Curia acted in the name of Pope Julius II, so when they learned of Erasmus
s cruel jokes, they longed for Erasmus to stop his nonsense and spend the rest of his days in
remorseful piety (Manchester 126). Society as a whole in Europe was ruled by utter confusion and
things were fairly unstable during this time. The people followed rules that they so blindly
believed and in a nutshell, the people committed acts that would most likely be viewed as absurd

Love Of Love In Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet
Shakespeare s tale Romeo and Juliet is all about the love displayed by characters, including the
platonic love that is demonstrated by best friends Romeo and Mercutio. Both Baz Luhrmann and
Franco Zeffirelli are able to portray this perfectly in their own different ways during the major fight
scene between Tybalt and Mercutio. Baz Luhrmann is able to portray lovein this fight scene with
dramatic and intense music, along with fast paced camera work and close up shots. The close ups,
for example, are very important in displaying the love between Mercutio and Romeo. Whilst
Mercutio intervenes between the fight of Romeo and Tybalt, Luhrmann uses close ups to
demonstrate how much Romeo and Mercutio mean to each other. From the close up of the two,
the audience can clearly see the distress that is shown on Romeo s face when he sees that Mercutio
is dead. For the love of family that is displayed throughout this scene especially by Tybalt,
Luhrmann uses fast paced intense music to show how heated it is for Tybalt, and how much he
dislikes the Montague household, due to the love for his own household, the Capulets. On the other
hand, Franco Zeffirelli isn t able to use these cinematic techniques due to them not appealing to the
target audience. Zeffirelli doesn t need to use over dramatised cinematic techniques to portray the
friendship that Romeo and Mercutio share as they don t appeal to his target audience. Instead,
Zeffirelli uses the emotions of the characters and the way that

they were exposed to a heat block at various thresholds. While the pain was being applied they
were told to focus in on a picture, either of their romantic partner or an equally attractive

According to Melvin D. Williams: Geographical places are salient human attachments. My studies
suggest that identity by geographical location is not the source but the result of human divisiveness.
Certain human characteristics (phenotype, kin, intelligence, agility, articulation, and activity) result
in social and psychological attachments that culminate in the utilization of hearth, home, university,
community, city, country, and continent for human divisiveness (Williams, 2003, p.5). The band
members can be assumed American born citizens and chanting Where s your green card?
expresses their practice of racial divisiveness. By practicing racial divisiveness by geography,
humans feel a sense of security within their territory. Angel Rodriguez being an excellent basketball
player from Puerto Rico and playing in the United States appeared as a threat to the prep band fans
who are from the United States. The prep band students felt the need to question Rodriguez s status

The Dissimilarity Between Working Mother And Stay Home Mother

ENGL 1102

The Dissimilarity between Working Mother and stay home Mother During the early years of the
1900 s most women were not allowed to work, they also did not have any rights to vote. All the
women during these times could only stay inside the house and take care of the familial duties
and chores. Women were primarily cooking meals, cleaning inside the house, and also taking care
of their own child. On the other hand, most of the men were kings in the household who were in
charge as they are the main source of income for making money. Most of the kids growing up
during this time period ensured to consume a strong family background because the marriage was
everlasting one. Back in the day, the maximum of divorce rates was very low compared to a
present day, as of now, but how is that the divorce rates are high in the present today? That is
because of the authorization in the 19th Amendment which were giving women right to vote, as
they became more self governing (Harris). Women did not just want to cook, and clean working
as a house wife at home any longer, but however women desired to have a job outside just like
their husband earning all the money and have a nice working life. They wanted to challenge
themselves as they wish to follow their husbands footsteps, to prove that women can also do just
like how the men does. Even though how women began to work and women equal rights movement

It is important to understand how media welfare is presented in both shows, what are the
differences and the similarities, once it is a strategy used in both cases, it is a value that is
integrated with the Makeover format. To analyze this strategy in two different contexts it is
necessary to have a clear understanding of what is media welfare. Welfare is described as being
a strategy used by dominant classes in society (Ruscheinsky,2000). Welfare is also part of media
strategies. Known as media welfare, it is when the audience believe that a channel, a show or a

dependency relationship, as in other types of welfare (Augusti, 2007). The Reality TV show that
promote that dependency give away material prizes, amounts of money or provide services to the
participants, that share their life stories with the audience and the production of the show. The show
uses this strategy in a way to promote themselves. According to Redden (2007) by promoting this
dependency, Makeover shows have the ability to modify attitudes, behaviours and

All we got to do is get ourselves out of its way, to let it choose us (The Legend of Bagger Vance).
Bagger in this is illustrating that our authentic swing is what we are born with, our original

saying, Now play the game. Your game. The one that only you was meant to play. The one given

points that Parker Palmer is. Both Palmer and Bagger and saying that we have an original

The Legend of Bagger Vance and Palmer both illustrate the aspect of whose am I? Palmer
describes the theme of whose am I as an idea of relationships and how our relationshops affect our
vocation. Palmer illustrates this when he says, For there is no selfhood outside relationship
(Palmer). We cannot become our true self without understanding our relationships. We need
relationships to help us find out more of who we are as well as we need this relationships to
sometimes help to guide us and grow us. This same idea of relationships is illustrated throughout

Abstract: Digital multipliers are along with the majority critical arithmetic functional units. The
general performance of the Digital multiplier systems depends on throughput of the multiplier. The
negative bias temperature instability effect occurs when a pMOS transistor is under negative bias
(Vgs = в€’Vdd), increasing the threshold voltage of a pMOS transistor and falling the multiplier
speed. In the same way, positive bias temperature instability occurs when an nMOS transistor is
under positive bias. Both effects degrade the speed of the transistor and in the long term, the
system may be fail due to timing violations. For that reason, it is required to design reliable high
performance multipliers. In this paper, we implement an aging aware multiplier design with a novel
adaptive hold logic (AHL) circuit. The multiplier is able to provide the higher throughput through
the variable latency and can adjust the adaptive hold logic

High School Vs. College Student
High school Student vs. College Student School plays an important role in our life. Many of us
will spend more than fifteen years at school in order to get the qualifications that are required to
work in a specific field. Of course, those years are broken down into several levels, some of them
being more liked than others. Two important steps that we go through are high schooland college.
Even though some people would think they are almost similar, yet there are significant differences
between them. The cost of high school educationis not the same as the cost of college education.
Also, some differences apply from an academic point of view. Typically, the social environment
also differs from high school to college, a fact that can be related to the question of freedom

it provides a higher level of education, but by having such high fees it does not give a chance to
them; coming from a family with a low income. Also, at college you have to buy your own
books whereas in high school you borrow them from the school for a year. As they do for high
schools, the government should pay for the books and then borrow them to students, as they do in
high schools. Paying for the education you get is expensive, but many people have to pay even
more. Many cities do not have colleges, so students who want to get a higher

Theories Of Durkheim
Г‰mile Durkheim is widely considered to be one of the founders of the science of sociology.
Towards the end of his book, The Rules of Sociological Method, he writes that a science cannot be
considered definitively constituted until it has succeeded in establishing its own independent status
(150), a statement that strongly suggests that with this work Durkheim is trying to definitively
constitute[] (150) sociologyas a science. Contrary to this sentiment, Durkheim appears to rely on
already established sciences and scientific methods. Though he is definitely founding something
new, Durkheim fundamentally relies on the methods of traditional science to give sociology
credibility within the scientific community and beyond. One of the most obvious way Durkheim
does this is through his use of heightened and scientific language. He describes sociological
principles as being empirical postulate[s], the product[s] of a legitimate induction (Durkheim 149),
and claims that one of the key characteristics of sociology is that it... Show more content on

In showing the similarities between the two sciences Durkheim necessarily implies that sociology
is as legitimate of a science as biology. In Chapter III, Rules for the Distinction of the Normal
from the Pathological (144) Durkheim focusses on establishing the differences between what is
normal and what is pathological in sociology by discussing how health and sickness are determined
within the biological sphere. Every sociological phenomenon, just as every biological phenomenon,
although staying essentially unchanged, can assume a different form for each particular case (147),
therefor making every sociological phenomenon as real and as scientific as every biological
phenomenon. This comparison also serves to separate sociology from philosophy, a distinction
which Durkheim considers to be the first characteristic[] of the sociological method

Analysis Of A Crucible Of Reform Movement
Abbi Sullins
Mrs. Nix
AP US History

Born to Create Change
Louisa May Alcott was in every way born to become a reformist. It is even said that [a]s an adult,
Louisa May sometimes signed her letters, Yours for reforms of all kinds (Concord Women Cast
First Votes). Growing up in early nineteenth century Massachusetts, a crucible of reform
movements, to parents who were both incredibly dedicated to reformation, she was exposed to
many different reform movements throughout the entirety of her life. While her immense success
as an author would ultimately overshadow her devout work for women s rights, she is still to be
considered an essential pioneer for the women s right to vote in Concord.

These men would look out for Louisa and her three sisters, keeping the girls from going hungry
and cold in the harsh New England winters. The men s kindness and direct influence on Louisa as
she grew up would add to the influence reform movements had on Louisa May Alcott.
Abby Alcott, Louisa s mother, was a highly educated young woman, rare for her time, but like
her husband, made poor decisions that would ultimately hurt the family s well being severely.
Abby worked as a nurse for families living in poverty, who could not afford health care from paid
doctors. However, Mrs. Alcott was very careless about her nursing and never bothered to ask
what she was treating. Her carelessness caused her to bring home smallpox and scarlet fever to
her husband and four daughters. The Scarlett fever Abby brought home would eventually lead to
the death of one of her daughters, Beth (Steven 112). Her parent s financial carelessness lead her
to beg[in] writing to make money for her mother and three sisters (DeSalle). Louisa also at one
point in her childhood vowed that she would one day become rich so she could provide for her
family, in the way her father had not.
Aside from their careless errors, the Abby and Bronson Alcott relentlessly fought for what they
believed in. The Alcott s were

for the people in the Pomurje region through the identification, development, implementation and
strengthening of best practices in the field of socioeconomic and environmental development; (ii)
to ensure that an understanding of health underpins the development potential of the region and

aims to integrate health into the regional development programme in the Pomurje region, which at
the time the initiative began was one of the most disadvantaged regions in Slovenia in terms of

Sitting Bull Research Paper
Behold, my friends , the spring is come; the earth has gladly received the embraces of the sun,
and we shall soon see the result of their love! December 15, 1890 Sitting Bull was shot and killed
while being arrested by U.S and Indian agent. The Sitting Bull was one of the best known Indian
chiefs because of his determination, leadership skills, and spiritual aspects.
Sitting Bull s determination was something amazing. He always made sure that everyone
believed they could do it and was determined not to live on a reservation. His determination and
leadership of the Lakotas extended beyond policy and into spiritual realm as well. He never gave
up or signed the treaty for the Indians to live on the reservation. When the tribes went to battle ...

people that he had a vision of sorts, he saw soldiers on horseback falling into their camp upside
down. A voice told Sitting Bull I give these to you because they have no ears. the Lakotas
translated this to mean that they were soon to have a great victory against the bluecoats. Many
have said that this was similar to the battle that happens a few short weeks later at the Battle of the
Bighorn. Sitting Bull was supposedly killed over his involvement of the Ghost Dance movement.
Beginning in 1889, many reservation tribes were on the Ghost Dance movement. This would bury
the white man s world a layer of soil and allow the Indians to return to their old ways. Sitting Bull
was at the forefront of preservation the Lakotas culture. It wasn t long before authorities became
convinced that he might use the Ghost Dance movement to form a resistance. On the morning of
December 15, 1890, reservation agent James McLaughlin dispatched a party of Lakotas policemen
to arrest Sitting Bull and bring him in for questioning. The men successfully dragged him from his
cabin, the commotion brought his followers to gather at the scene. One Ghost Dancer fired a shot
at the police, setting of a gun battle. Dozens were killed in the confusion.

The Hacked World Order By Adam Segal
Adam Segal s The Hacked World Order reveals many prevalent issues in today s technologically
centered society. Starting at Year Zero, June 2012 to June 2013, the battle over cyberspace
witnessed world changing cyberattacks. This was accomplished due to the fact that nearly 75% of
the world s population has easy access to a mobile phone, and the Internet connects nearly 40% of
the total human population, which is nearly 2.7 billion people. With that being said, cyberattacks
are becoming a more realistic form of terror.
The danger behind these attacks is
Year Zero began with the detection of the Stuxnet malware, allegedly developed by the United
States, who partnered with Israel. This malware was released in order to damage Iranian machines
and mess with Iran s best scientific minds. Stuxnet proved that the United States was willing to do
whatever it took to develop these forms of offensive capabilities which are needed to dominate the
cyber battlespace. This attack was used to send Iran s nuclear program back almost two years. I
think that what made Stuxnet dangerous was that it was nearly impossible to detect, developers
had zero days to fix or patch damage that had already been done. The computers used to transfer
the malware were not connected to the Internet, they jumped the air gap by allowing the malware
to be transferred through portable devices, leading to an even more traumatic cyberattack. I believe
that the US knew the risks for deploying this type of

Buddhism Is An Indispensable Element Of Chinese And...
Buddhism has been the main religion of china for several thousands of years. In fact, Buddhism is
an indispensable element of Chinese philosophy and literature. As we all know, Buddhism
originated in India and first spread to China around 100BC. Nevertheless, (Mahayana) Buddhism in
China separated itself from the mainstream Buddhismand created a new form of Bodhisattva
precept instead of following the Indian Vinaya precept. In fact , the distinct Chinese history and
culture played significant roles in the development and formation of Mahayana Buddhism . The
change of Chinese society also had a great impact on the doctrine and status of Mahayana
Buddhism. In this paper, I will illustrate the reason why Buddhism was widely accepted by Chinaas
an alien religion , analyze how the indigenous philosophy such as Taoism and Confucianism
affected the Mahayana concept and find the relationship between Mahayana Buddhism and
Chinese Imperialism. Chinese has always been a confident nation most of the time. As they
believe that China is the Celestial Empire of the world, Chinese rulers and scholars are reluctant
to accept heterodox knowledge, especially religion. For hundreds of years, Confucianism had
been the essence of Chinese Philosophy. However, By the middle of the second century. A.D, the
great Han Empire was on the edge of disintegration. The upper level of Han socio political order
was riven by conflict and the elite was frustrated by uncertainty . On the other

A Brief History Of The Mayan Civilization
A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE MAYAN CIVILIZATION Michael Costa History 157: History of
Latin America May 8, 2015 Mayan civilization peaked too early to impress the Spanish in the
manner of the Inca and Aztec empires. The great Mayan ceremonial centers visited by modern
tourists were all in ruin when the Spanish arrived in the 1500s. In fact, the highpoint of Mayan
imperial organization was almost a thousand years earlier. Mayan city states were located in high
mountains, in densely forested tropical lowlands, and on the arid YucatГЎn peninsula. Like the
Mexicas (and other indigenous people of central Mexico), the Maya built stone pyramids, but
they did not dedicate any to human sacrifice. Mayan cities contained ball courts where opposing
teams tried to get a rubber ball through a stone hoop. The game was not a sport, but a ritual, and
often a matter of life and death. Mayan writing, composed of symbols called glyphs, was the most
elaborate created by any indigenous civilization. In an attempt to eradicate Mayan indigenous
religious belief, the Spanish conquistadors burned large collections of Mayan writings. The Mayan
language lives on today, but its linguistic fragmentation mirrors the political fragmentation of the
city states. Modern Mayan is a family of languages, rather than a single language. QuichГ© and
Mam, two modern Mayan languages, are no more alike than English and German or French and
Italian. Life was good to those lucky

The Importance Of Strict Gun Control Laws
Chicago has some of the strictest gun laws in the United States yet in 2016 there were 762 gun
related homicides, 3,550 shooting incidents, and 4,331 shooting victims. Despite strict gun laws
Chicago had one of the deadliest years in history, so are the laws really working? Strict gun control
does not mean that the amount of gunrelated crime will decrease. So, what is the point in making
strict gun control laws?
Gun control does not work. Chicago is a prime example of this, Chicago has some of the strictest
laws in America but led the country in gun violence in 2016. So why are the gun laws not
working? For starters criminals do not care about the laws, criminals break the laws and gun laws
are just more laws they will break. Once somebody decides they are going to commit a crime such
as murder not having a gun is going to stop the person from committing the murder that person will
either possess a firearm illegally or commit the crime without a gun. Trying to ban firearms is
also likely to drastically increase the black market or street value of the weapons since they will
no longer be able to buy them at a store, assuming that they would even be able to pass a
background check to purchase it legally, and most likely lead to even more crime. Between
2000 and 2013 the majority of active shooter incidents in American was at schools, colleges,
malls, and businesses. The people that go to schools and businesses to commit murder usually
want to commit a mass murder and kill as many innocent people as they can before they get
killed or kill themselves. Since they want mass casualties the shooters do not want to be shot
which is why they go where there are a lot of people and where there are very few or nobody that
is armed and prepared to defend themselves and others. Schools are often a target of people who
want to cause mass casualties since there is usually only one armed and ready person on campus
if that which often makes schools a desirable target, but what if all the faculty and staff member at
the school was trained and carrying a firearm then that would drastically decrease the chances of
somebody wanting to commit mass murder at a school since that person s odds of murdering more
than a one person

  • 2. Tom Sawyer Rhetorical Analysis Humor Uses of Hypocritical in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer Mark Twain claimed in his letter to a friend about The Adventures of Tom Sawyer: It is not a boy s book, at all. It will only be read by adults. It is only written for adultss (Wall 113). Mark Twain s The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is a novel about youths, but reviews great truths and philosophy of the society. The book is too profound for children to understand the moral. He uses a view of a child to express the humor of the implication of youth s behavior, the ironic religious events, and hypocritical society. a. The implication of Youth s behaviors As the whole story was told by the voice of a teenager, their behaviors were also implicated Mark Twain s language of humor. For example, ... Actually, Tom was too wistful to sleep on the island that he slipped to home covertly and witnessed Aunt Polly was truly inconsolable, which aroused his eager to go home; however, he described this incident as his dream because he knew that Aunt Polly would punish him anyway. • 3. Islam and Jihad Essay The Arabic word Jihad literally means holy struggle . It is not holy war. War is war. No war can be holy. The blood of humans is holy and sacred. The Quran says unjust killing of one man means the killing of the whole mankind. What is just killing and what is unjust killing. When some body kills a man without any reason or justification it is unjust killing. When the judge gives the capital punishment to this murderer and issues the order of his death, it is a just killing. Similarly, when a war is thrust upon you and you become the victim of persecution and aggression, you are permitted to defend yourselves and kill the invaders or perpetrators. There are some Muslims who believe in Jihadin the name of aversion and conversion.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad gave us law and code of life. All preached brotherhood, justice, freedom, equality and peace. The prophets were the greatest champions of human rights. They boldly revolted against the tyrants, oppressors and aggressors. Jihad by sword is only permissible when you are attacked. It is unfortunate that Islam is being branded as the religion of extremists, fascists, fundamentalists and terrorists. A few days ago some non Muslim emailed me. He wrote; Islam is the religion of terrorism and Muhammad was a terrorist. Why he wrote this? How he came to such a conclusion? First; he has neither studied Islam nor the life of the Prophet of Islam. Second he has read or seen the terrorist activities of some Muslim hard liners and extremists. Partly he is correct and partly he is incorrect. The Quran about mischief mongers and the enemies of peace candidly in Sura The Cow ; when it is said to them; В‘make not mischief on the earth . They say; В‘we are only ones that put things right . Of a surety, they are the ones who make mischief, but they realize it not (2:11 12). The serious, objective and rational study of the Quran testifies this verity that Islam strongly condemns bloodshed and aggression. It is a religion of peace. The Meccans attacked Muhammad thrice. A Community Meal And The Gas Stove One of the first things that we need to do to formulate a strategy and immediate one or an emerging one is to evaluate all the assets that the congregation has. This falls into two categories The physical assets of property and the assets of members of the congregation s meaning what their gifts and graces are on a personal level that could help the ministryof the church that they would be to give. The congregants interviews would be two fold to first ask them what you think are the strengths of the congregation and what they think the congregation can bring to the community. The second would be to get to know the congregants on an individual basis to ascertain their level of involvement as well as what their gifts and graces are. Another avenue to finding these things out can be a survey or what I have seen it in some congregations A volunteer form with different ideas for new ministries and see what people would be willing to help with. Not only would we use these forms and interviews to find out what they would be willing to help with more importantly what they are in need of that as well. We have to remember The congregation is at the top of priorities and so there needs need to be evaluated as well. • 6. The Beginning Of Expansion Of The Middle Class Post World War II United States was a significant period of time when the lifestyle of American people changed dramatically. Long period of economic booms brought mass suburbanization and people purchased their own home appliances, houses, and automobiles. As a matter of fact, in the background of the change of American lifestyle, there were repeated technological innovations. Successful mass productions of goods accelerated buying activities, which promoted the economic development in the United States. This was the beginning of expansion of the middle class; some people get enough money to succeed in having a happy life in the United States with family. However, when the status of family in a community was considered, proper management of money was necessary to keep their lives. Handful choices of buying goods or products with satisfaction made American Dream possible, but buying activities changed the social statusof people for better or worse at the same time. As is well known, American Dream is an idea of success that can be gained by effort and sometimes saving money. It generally requires having a good life as a middle class or higher class family who do not struggle with financial problems. Certainly, being able to buy something that a person wants represents that he/she is capable to be at least middle class whether or not they can buy then and there. Purchasing something one needs and something one wants sounds similar, but they are different. The economic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Due to the need to have completely controlled experiments to test a hypothesis, science cannot prove everything. Although in some cases, you may not be able to manipulate the independent variable. It could be already there and or fixed. A dependent variable is the variable that s being tested in an experiment. • 11. Persuasive Essay On Dental Care We all have 32 teeth in our mouth and they are indispensable. The tooth, in itself, consists of two parts: the root buried in the bone and the crown that is in the oral cavity. In addition, the cost of a quality brush is now quite low compared to the many benefits. Dental care can help in many cases: to restore a devitalized tooth, to cover and support a tooth that has a large filling when there is not much left healthy material, to protect a weakened tooth, to cover a dental implant it is fixed with cement or is glued, to restore a broken cracked or very worn tooth and to cover a poorly formed or discolored tooth. Dental care is usually reimbursed by insurance. The gum is the part of the oral mucosa that covers the maxillary bone and the mandible at the level of the tooth implantation area. First of all, let s give you a little reminder of what dental care is and why it is needed. Remember, many dental practices also offer periodontal dentistry, which is gum care. Regular brushing of the teeth allows removal of plaque. Today, the brush does almost everything alone. The purpose of these devices is to eliminate food residues and dental plaque in the most inaccessible areas of the mouth. Different instruments allow to get rid of tartar. That s why dentists today almost unanimously recommend the use of the electric toothbrush. Its micro pulsations and rotational movements are the enemy of tartar. The tartar is then taken off. It is therefore an effective preventive weapon ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Negative Effects Of Fast Fashion Industry unionized, and they do not receive minimum pay. They have no benefits, and many say that these workers have too little income to want to contribute to social security (WIEGO). The workers have to work in unsuitable conditions, damaging their health and safety, but fast fashion also has an advantage on the lives of citizens or garment workers. Despite the various negative impacts that the fast fashion industry is causing for developing countries, garment work is a significant part of many third world countries. Working in garment production at home can allow women to earn an income and help with children and at home (WIEGO). Many countries such as Bangladesh, India, Cambodia and Bangkok, the fast fashion manufacturing makes up most of the countries export earnings. According to Mobarak, a professor of economics at Yale, garment factory jobs bring about meaningful development for women. Instead of banning imports from Bangladesh, as has been suggested, we should instead work to improve safety. Cultures and villages surrounding the garment and textile industry have also seen decreases of early marriage and childbirth, which allows more women to gain an education and work. Many women and girls who live near a garment factory are 28% less likely to be married and 29% less likely to have given birth than those living in villages farther away from a factory (Mobarak). Delays in early marriage and childbirth arise from more younger girls pursuing an education to obtain skills needed to get a garment factory job. These factories may create a more meaningful life for women near factories. However, the manufacturing of clothing has impacted the cities, villages and the environment nearby. Fast fashion and the clothing industry have made its way to become the second greatest polluting industry in the world. Uzbekistan, which is one of the leading producers of cotton, has lost one of the primary sources of water for the production of cotton and has spread toxins and carcinogens into the air, impacting neighboring communities (Michels). Dying practices for clothing have majorly contaminated rivers and water sources as well. One dangerous chemical, nonylphenol ethoxylate, which has been banned in the EU, can still be ... • 13. The Conspiracy Of Suppression Of Alternative Energy The Conspiracy of suppression of Alternate Energy There are many ways of alternate energy that can replace the need for oil and gas in the United States. And the reason it could do that is because the forms of energy come from the environment and are not harmful to it. Plus they are a lot cheaper than oil and gas prices. The government suppresses some advanced energies for fear of their enemies getting these technologies and using the technologies against them. So the two biggest reasons for suppressing energy are to save money, and to keep us safe in a way. The conspiracy of the government and oil/gas corporations suppressing free, alternate forms of energy makes sense, and there are many reasons for this; one being, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Of course the majority of the public would start using free , clean energy sources instead of using expensive sources of energy that harm the earth. So in order to stop that, they make committees that go around and pick up alternate forms of energy that are invented and remove them from public access so the people won t switch over to those energy sources. Then if the inventor wants to patent it and make it public, they must go through the patent office and wait a year. This is also how they slow down production of alternate energy. They make them wait a year before making it public so they can make more money during that year. The oil and gas monopolies are suppressing energy for the wrong reasons. They are doing it for money, and not for the greater good. In essence if the whole public switched to alternate energy there wouldn t be any more need for gas or oil because there are enough forms of energy to replace them. But by stopping these alternate energies oil and gas companies can continue to make money. Alternate energy is cheap today. For example, in California solar developers have bought contracts for alternate energy over natural gas because it is cheaper and more efficient. Also alternate energy produces more jobs than fossil fuels do, so the actual company itself doesn t make as much money. That would also be another reason why companies suppress alternate energy. Also some alternate energy prices cannot be compared to fossil fuels because they are suppressed by the receipt of state and federal incentives. The world will be used up a lot quicker if corporations and companies continue to suppress alternate energy just for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Closely related with apostrophe, personification is a rhetorical device used to give human characteristics to objects, inanimate ideas, and animals. Apostrophe is a term used when a speaker directly addresses someone or something that is not present (Shmoop). For example, the stars danced playfully in the moonlit sky. This affects educational research for schools, however, this seems to be overlooked quite often. With this in mind we should allow schools to provide unfiltered internet access because online censorship causes educational research to be more strenuous the filters used can be easily bypassed by a VPN (Virtual Private Network), and having unfiltered internet access prepares kids for this unfiltered world we prosper in. • 17. African Of African American Culture There is no doubt that African Americans have a rich cultural background and history like the many different ethnic groups who settled in the New World, whose origins lie in another country. For this reason, America was known as the melting pot. However, the backgrounds of each of these cultures were not always understood or, in the case of African Americans, accepted among the New World society and culture. Americans were ignorant to the possibility of differences among groups of people until information and ideas started to emerge, particularly, the African retention theories. This sparked an interest in the field of African culture and retention in African Americans. However, the study of African Americanculture truly emerged as a result of increased awareness in America, specifically through the publication and findings of scholarly research and cultural events like the Harlem Renaissance where all ethnicities were able to see this rich historical culture of African Americans. There were many who became dedicated to this field of study, but two of the most predominant researchers and scholars of the African retention theories were Lorenzo Turner and Melville Herskovits. While both researchers examined different aspects of culture, Herskovits and Turner were both convinced that there was indeed African retention in African American cultureand society (Wade Lewis 402). However, I am writing you today to address a problem I ran into at your stores and to propose a possible solution. I noticed that Lululemon clothing prices are marked up a great percentage than what a fair price would be. The fabric advertised is a special mix, Luon. However, after completing research, many brands, such as Athleta and Adidas, use a similar mix and their pants are lower in price. This would not be so much of a problem for Lululemon if the quality matched the price. Yet, there have been complaints from Lululemon customers where the clothing displayed pilling or sheerness after just a few washes something I too have experienced. A customerexpects good quality from their clothing, especially if they are willing to spend a large amount of money on it. I have a proposal to solve the problem. Love Of Love In Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet Shakespeare s tale Romeo and Juliet is all about the love displayed by characters, including the platonic love that is demonstrated by best friends Romeo and Mercutio. Both Baz Luhrmann and Franco Zeffirelli are able to portray this perfectly in their own different ways during the major fight scene between Tybalt and Mercutio. Baz Luhrmann is able to portray lovein this fight scene with dramatic and intense music, along with fast paced camera work and close up shots. The close ups, for example, are very important in displaying the love between Mercutio and Romeo. Whilst Mercutio intervenes between the fight of Romeo and Tybalt, Luhrmann uses close ups to demonstrate how much Romeo and Mercutio mean to each other. From the close up of the two, the audience can clearly see the distress that is shown on Romeo s face when he sees that Mercutio is dead. For the love of family that is displayed throughout this scene especially by Tybalt, Luhrmann uses fast paced intense music to show how heated it is for Tybalt, and how much he dislikes the Montague household, due to the love for his own household, the Capulets. On the other hand, Franco Zeffirelli isn t able to use these cinematic techniques due to them not appealing to the target audience. The general performance of the Digital multiplier systems depends on throughput of the multiplier. The negative bias temperature instability effect occurs when a pMOS transistor is under negative bias (Vgs = в€’Vdd), increasing the threshold voltage of a pMOS transistor and falling the multiplier speed. In the same way, positive bias temperature instability occurs when an nMOS transistor is under positive bias. Both effects degrade the speed of the transistor and in the long term, the system may be fail due to timing violations. What we see on the surface seems to be enough for us to come up with a quick assumption about that person that leads to fundamental attribution error. Not that Lolita was bad , no chance of that, but it exerted an impression which I would love to liken to a massive dose of LSD: lovely exasperating, trippy to the max, to a certain extent very similar to a case of migraine. Unfortunately, the black butterfly on its cover knew my dilemma and blinked with me. I brought the book, and soon envisioned myself getting stuck in the same vein of chaos of words, metaphors, excessively equivocal language and bizzare monologues once again. However, to my utmost bewilderment, Laughter turned out not very elusive as I had expected. Many of us will spend more than fifteen years at school in order to get the qualifications that are required to work in a specific field. Of course, those years are broken down into several levels, some of them being more liked than others. Two important steps that we go through are high schooland college. Even though some people would think they are almost similar, yet there are significant differences between them. The cost of high school educationis not the same as the cost of college education. Also, some differences apply from an academic point of view. Typically, the social environment also differs from high school to college, a fact that can be related to the question of freedom versus responsibility. It is true to say that college is more expensive than high school. Of course, it provides a higher level of education, but by having such high fees it does not give a chance to them; coming from a family with a low income. Also, at college you have to buy your own books whereas in high school you borrow them from the school for a year. As they do for high schools, the government should pay for the books and then borrow them to students, as they do in high schools. Paying for the education you get is expensive, but many people have to pay even more. Many cities do not have colleges, so students who want to get a higher ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Theories Of Durkheim Г‰mile Durkheim is widely considered to be one of the founders of the science of sociology. Towards the end of his book, The Rules of Sociological Method, he writes that a science cannot be considered definitively constituted until it has succeeded in establishing its own independent status (150), a statement that strongly suggests that with this work Durkheim is trying to definitively constitute[] (150) sociologyas a science. Contrary to this sentiment, Durkheim appears to rely on already established sciences and scientific methods. Though he is definitely founding something new, Durkheim fundamentally relies on the methods of traditional science to give sociology credibility within the scientific community and beyond. One of the most obvious way Durkheim does this is through his use of heightened and scientific language. He describes sociological principles as being empirical postulate[s], the product[s] of a legitimate induction (Durkheim 149), and claims that one of the key characteristics of sociology is that it... Every sociological phenomenon, just as every biological phenomenon, although staying essentially unchanged, can assume a different form for each particular case (147), therefor making every sociological phenomenon as real and as scientific as every biological phenomenon. • 48. The Hacked World Order By Adam Segal Adam Segal s The Hacked World Order reveals many prevalent issues in today s technologically centered society. Starting at Year Zero, June 2012 to June 2013, the battle over cyberspace witnessed world changing cyberattacks. This was accomplished due to the fact that nearly 75% of the world s population has easy access to a mobile phone, and the Internet connects nearly 40% of the total human population, which is nearly 2.7 billion people. With that being said, cyberattacks are becoming a more realistic form of terror. The danger behind these attacks is Year Zero began with the detection of the Stuxnet malware, allegedly developed by the United States, who partnered with Israel. This malware was released in order to damage Iranian machines and mess with Iran s best scientific minds. Stuxnet proved that the United States was willing to do whatever it took to develop these forms of offensive capabilities which are needed to dominate the cyber battlespace. This attack was used to send Iran s nuclear program back almost two years. I think that what made Stuxnet dangerous was that it was nearly impossible to detect, developers had zero days to fix or patch damage that had already been done. The computers used to transfer the malware were not connected to the Internet, they jumped the air gap by allowing the malware to be transferred through portable devices, leading to an even more traumatic cyberattack. I believe that the US knew the risks for deploying this type of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 50. A Brief History Of The Mayan Civilization A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE MAYAN CIVILIZATION Michael Costa History 157: History of Latin America May 8, 2015 Mayan civilization peaked too early to impress the Spanish in the manner of the Inca and Aztec empires. The great Mayan ceremonial centers visited by modern tourists were all in ruin when the Spanish arrived in the 1500s. In fact, the highpoint of Mayan imperial organization was almost a thousand years earlier. Mayan city states were located in high mountains, in densely forested tropical lowlands, and on the arid YucatГЎn peninsula. Like the Mexicas (and other indigenous people of central Mexico), the Maya built stone pyramids, but they did not dedicate any to human sacrifice. Mayan cities contained ball courts where opposing teams tried to get a rubber ball through a stone hoop. The game was not a sport, but a ritual, and often a matter of life and death. Mayan writing, composed of symbols called glyphs, was the most elaborate created by any indigenous civilization. In an attempt to eradicate Mayan indigenous religious belief, the Spanish conquistadors burned large collections of Mayan writings. The Mayan language lives on today, but its linguistic fragmentation mirrors the political fragmentation of the city states. Modern Mayan is a family of languages, rather than a single language. • 51. The Importance Of Strict Gun Control Laws Chicago has some of the strictest gun laws in the United States yet in 2016 there were 762 gun related homicides, 3,550 shooting incidents, and 4,331 shooting victims. Despite strict gun laws Chicago had one of the deadliest years in history, so are the laws really working? Strict gun control does not mean that the amount of gunrelated crime will decrease. So, what is the point in making strict gun control laws? Gun control does not work. Chicago is a prime example of this, Chicago has some of the strictest laws in America but led the country in gun violence in 2016. So why are the gun laws not working? For starters criminals do not care about the laws, criminals break the laws and gun laws are just more laws they will break. Once somebody decides they are going to commit a crime such as murder not having a gun is going to stop the person from committing the murder that person will either possess a firearm illegally or commit the crime without a gun. Trying to ban firearms is also likely to drastically increase the black market or street value of the weapons since they will no longer be able to buy them at a store, assuming that they would even be able to pass a background check to purchase it legally, and most likely lead to even more crime. Between 2000 and 2013 the majority of active shooter incidents in American was at schools, colleges, malls, and businesses. The people that go to schools and businesses to commit murder usually want to commit a mass murder and kill as many innocent people as they can before they get killed or kill themselves. Since they want mass casualties the shooters do not want to be shot which is why they go where there are a lot of people and where there are very few or nobody that is armed and prepared to defend themselves and others. Schools are often a target of people who want to cause mass casualties since there is usually only one armed and ready person on campus if that which often makes schools a desirable target, but what if all the faculty and staff member at the school was trained and carrying a firearm then that would drastically decrease the chances of somebody wanting to commit mass murder at a school since that person s odds of murdering more than a one person ...
