How Did The Soviet Union Affect Poland
The Soviet Union was intent on taking over more and more countries in Eastern Europe in order to
spread the concept of Communism. After World War II, twenty million Russians died during the war,
and Joseph Stalin, the leader of the Soviet Union wanted to make changes. He wanted to create a
buffer zone of friendly countries around the Soviet Union to make sure they would never again be
invaded. His goal was to takeover Eastern Europe. The Soviet Union s takeover of Eastern European
countries such as Poland, Hungary, and Romania had a negative impact on these countries because the
economy and the general welfare of the citizens suffered.

Avoid Real Estate Investment Tax
Minimization of Individual Tax Liability in Real Estate Investment
In the world of investing, in general, one question is often the most challenging to answer. How does
an investor grow their nest egg without losing the majority of their gain to the IRS as income tax? This
question is even more challenging in the area of real estate where one s tax liability is drastically
increased by just the sale of one property. This simple transaction can increasing the investor s
ordinary income if the property is a short term investment (investment is less than 1 year) or
increasing their capital gains for long term investments (over 1 year). Surprisingly, there are several
easy ways to drastically reduce tax liabilities with some planning and ... Show more content on

In this case the custodian withdraws its fiduciary responsibility and allows you to choose the
investments that you think are appropriate, such as investment property. (Casey 2013, 168)
At first glance the self directed IRA can seem like the perfect way to leave the stressful world of the
stock market but the seemly endless rules can quickly change an invertors mind. Furthermore if an
investor knowingly or unknowingly breaks one of the many rules they could be audited by the IRS
and if caught the entire IRA becomes immediately taxable as ordinary income. The most important
rule is that the investor must keep his personal funds separate from their IRA funds. Most
professionals agree it is important to consult an attorney and a CPA to facilitate the creation of a self
directed IRA. For the investors who fell the risk of an IRS audit is too great and are looking for more
protection of their other assets, if they find themselves involved in a lawsuit, the formation of a

organization, the limited liability company (LLC). First recognized by state statute in 1977, the LLC is

How Does Shakespeare Present Iago s Character In Othello
Throughout literature, authors manipulate their characters in certain manners to help the audience
discover their identities and their personalities. One way that William Shakespeare presents Iago s
character in Othello is through Iago s sacrifices. Shakespeare communicates Iago s pure craving for
revenge through what Iago is willing to give up and emphasizes just how far Iago s envy will persuade
him to go. Iago is willing to sacrifice all the honor that is and could ever be associated with his name
just for the idea of Othello s downfall. As the play progresses, Iago continues to be possessed by a
wild desire to ruin Othello, and as he continues to act upon this desire, he finds himself enwrapped in
complex and ever changing lies. At the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite the fact that Iago is angry with Othello and Cassio, Iago should not be mad enough about the
promotion to lead it to the end of Othello or the murder of Desdemona. While it is understandable that
he would be mad, Iago does not have a reason to be this angry and this creates a complexity to Iago s
character that makes him an interesting villain. The audience can conclude that Iago simply enjoys the
idea of hurting others. He is flattered by how manipulative and sneaky he is, and often times
throughout the play, he will have an aside speech where he tells the audience just what he has done
and what it will lead to. Iago s character is very diverse, yet simple at the same time. He enjoys the art
of evil and seeing others suffer. This contributes a great deal to the play because once it is evident to
the audience that there is not much standing in the way between Iago and evil, it is understood that he
will not stop until he feels that he has got his revenge. It can also be understood that in order for Iago
to feel truly satisfied, there will need to be pain and harm towards Othello, and perhaps even Cassio.
This allows the audience to prepare and ponder just what Iago might

Ludwig van Beethoven is perhaps the most famous and influential of all the pianist composers of his
time. He was considered instrumental in the transition of between the classical and romantic eras in
Western Art Music.
Beethoven was born on December 16th, 1770 in Bonn (now called Cologne, Germany) to parents of
Belgian descent. His father, Johann, was a musician at the court of Bonn, and his mother, Maria,
whom he later deemed as his best friend , was described as a warmhearted gentle women. There were
seven children born into this family, only three survived, in which Ludwig was the oldest.

He could then respond orally or in the book. Out of a total 400 conversation books, 264 books were
altered to destroyed after Beethoven s death by Anton Schindler (Beethoven s biographer) , who
wished only an idealized biography of the composer to survive.
In 1807, Beethoven wrote his third symphony for Bonaparte. Bonaparte was seen as a liberator of
people, which then opened the door of hope for all people. However, Beethoven became angry and
when the First Consul declared himself emperor and put that anger into his music, spewing out his
name from the musical score. It was played for the first time on April 7th, 1805, and entitled Eroica
Symphony.
During this time period, Ludwig was commissioned by the Viennese government to begin composing
an opera, entitled Lenora . This would be the only opera he would compose. Critics speculate it is
because he was not skilled in this area. It went through several revisions and was retitled Fedelio ,
against his wishes. It debuted on November 20th, 1805 to a very small audience of French officers
under Napoleon.
From the 1805 onward, Beethoven s productivity increased dramatically, having reached his musical
maturity. He had become regarded as one of the most important in a generation of young composers,
following Hayden and Mozart. Beethoven

Bruce Springsteen s Song Born In The USA

Insanity In The Tell Tale Heart By Edgar Allen Poe
Insanity is a mental illness that causes people to not be able to recognize the difference between what
is real and what is fake. They are unable to control their abrupt behavior and they cannot manage their
own affairs. Someone who is insane should not be held accountable for actions they have no control
over. In the short story The Tell Tale Heart by Edgar Allen Poe the narrator is in fact insane because he
is unable to tell the difference between what is right and what is wrong, has no control over this
actions, and he cannot differentiate fantasy from reality. He should not be sent to prison but instead
receive help. The narrator of the text The Tell Tale Heart is insane because he is unable to tell what is
right and what is wrong. When he was discussing the way he covered up the murder, he described it as
if it was a good thing. He made it clear that he was proud of himself and that he thought what he was
doing was right. The narrator states I then replaced the boards so clever, so cunningly, yet no human
eye not even his could have detected anything wrong. There was nothing to wash out no stain of any
kind no blood spot whatever. I had been too wary for that. A tub had caught all ha! ha! The fact that he
considers what he did clever and cunning shows that he doesn t see any fault in what he did. Any sane
person would see that covering up a murder is indeed wrong. Unlike the narrator who assumed
covering up a murder is something to brag about. Someone

Internet Technologies and Business Essay

The application of Internet technologies has been a growing trend in the business world for nearly a
decade. More and more companies are realizing the benefits of using the web. Web use has morphed
from information exchange only to enhancements for collaboration, customer service and
customization. These applications now lead to increasing profits; cutting costs, minimizing
production, and customer satisfaction in all areas of the manufacturing process. Companies such as
Mattel, BMW, and TaylorMade have adopted ways of fine tuning their strategies to keep up with this
growing trend. This was accomplished by focusing on several key aspects in each of their respective
markets. ƒÓMattel has adapted its production ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Now with the introduction of e commerce, it has increased the development of material handling
systems. Newly designed planning, automated staging systems and manufacturing software has made
the ordering process itself easier by being sent directly to the plant where they are produced. BMW
calls this process ¡§customer oriented sales and production¡¨. Their newly developed software system
provides real time information of the entire manufacturing process. ƒ´ This means now that customers
can make option changes six days before final production starts on the car. BMW also implemented an
automated storage and retrieval system or stacker as they have termed it. This system makes a delayed
option change requested by the customer if possible.
Being able to manage the flow of information from the ordering process to the manufacturing process
has also been a huge success of the system. The ability to keep track of resources necessary for the
production of a car and the wants and needs of the customer is a problem for most companies involved
in product manufacturing. BMW has also allowed its resource suppliers into the production loop. They
changed their information systems both internally and to their suppliers. The data is sent from
individual customer orders directly to the suppliers daily. This provides accurate information on the
needs of the company, and in turn

Regulation Of Foreign Investment On China
Regulation of foreign investment in China Foreign investment in china has been adversely affected by
the global economic and financial crisis since 2008. In the first 6 months of the year 2009, foreign

A. While watching the documentary on Libby Montana i learned a lot about all of the bad things that
happened to hundreds of people. The story can be traced back to 1919 when companies first started
pulling vermiculite out of mines in Libby. Known commercially as Zonolite, vermiculite was used in a
variety of construction materials including insulation for homes and buildings. Decades of mining the
vermiculite exposed workers and residents to toxic asbestos dust. A word from our soc book that i

asbestos refers to a set of six naturally occurring fibrous minerals. Asbestos has six primary sub
classifications: chrysotile, crocidolite, amosite, anthophyllite, tremolite, and actinolite. Among these,
chrysotile and amosite asbestos are the most common.Although asbestos fibers are microscopic in
nature, they are extremely durable and resistant to fire and most chemical reactions and breakdowns.
These properties of asbestos were the reasons that supported its use for many years in a number of
different commercial and industrial capacities. The strength of asbestos, combined with its resistance
to heat, allowed it to become the material of choice in a variety of products, including, but not limited
to, roofing shingles, floor tiles, ceiling materials, cement compounds, textile products, and automotive
parts. Asbestos is now strictly regulated as exposure to this toxic mineral can now be directly and
scientifically linked to a number of lung and respiratory health conditions. Its really a very bad thing. It
wasn t only around back in that time period of the Libby tradgedy. It is still around to this day and we
have no way of controlling it. In my old high school we had it in every room and the teacher use to kid

The Importance Of Technology In Modern Society
In our present world, we are faced with the double edged sword of having instantaneous access to all
information at our fingertips. However, it seems as though this easy access to information comes at the
cost of the morality of the community. This ethical degradation of modern society is permeated
through our overindulgence with technology, the manner in which we treat others, and mainstream
music.
A way in which the demoralization of society is shown through our overindulgence with technology.

Ultimately, the reliance on technology only leads to the detachment of people from those around them
leaving everyone in isolation.
Furthermore, the manner in which people are treated is a crucial sign of the immorality of our current
world. People have begun to lose respect for each other, especially over the Internet. This disregard for
others stems from the anonymity on the Internet which gives people the liberty to say whatever cruel
thing is on their mind because of their shield that is their computer screen. The ability to hide behind
one s keyboard is such a major contributor to cyberbullying as people don t get to physically see the
impacts of their words. If a person says awful things to a stranger on the Internet, they will likely
never meet the person to know how their comment made them feel. Through the rise of social media,
the current generation has lost the empathy that would make them wary of what they do or say to
avoid inflicting pain on others. A situation that can come out of this lack of concern for others is one
like Amanda Todd, a young girl who committed suicide as a result of the hurtful things said to her by
her peers over social media. Occurrences like these should serve as reminders to us all that despite the
conversation happening between screens, there is a person, a human, with value and worth behind that

Question
Who is Prufrock?
The modern propensity for excessive introspection prevents people from living full, active lives.
Is this true of Prufrock? Refer to examples from the poem to support your opinion.
Answer
It is obvious that the excessive and obsessive reflection of self that Prufrock undergoes in the poem,
The Love Song of J Alfred Prufrock written by T.S. Eliot, prevents him from living to his true
potential, and this is shown through the poet?s language and his use of poetic devices.

perception with Prufrock?s, which is ultimately the theme of the poem. However this is unclear,
because T.S. Eliot might have replaced Prufrock with his view on the typical individual that he
despises. It is quite evident that Prufrock has qualities derived from both these two examples. For
example, Prufrock is obsessed with his appearance, age and things which have no lifelong value, and
this ultimately leads Prufrock to individual isolation and a perpetual loathing of mankind, and this
negatively affects him. Although this is the case, Prufrock also has wisdom of the superficiality of
people in the modern world. So it is unclear who Prufrock is, in terms of if he is Eliot?s perception of
the typical man or if he is the typical man that Eliot despises, or both.
Regardless of this, I believe that Eliot is trying to convey an examination of the tortured psyche of the
prototypical modern man, a prototypical man who is overeducated, eloquent and neurotic, like
Prufrock, who is often moody, indecisive, isolated, but yet a sensitive thinker. Prufrock is lacking in
direction and is searching for order and a point to his life. I believe it was a design choice that

The Evolution Of Health Care
What is quality in health care? We can divide it into three elements:
1. Care by practitioners and other providers which means receive correct diagnosis and an appropriate
strategy of care from practitioners; and convenience, comfort, quite, privacy, food etc. from care
providers.
2. Care Implemented by patient that means patient should take care not only for him or herself but also
for his or her family. It is patient s responsibility if he or she succeed or fail of getting health care.
3. Care received by community as the whole. People should judge the social distribution of levels of
quality in the community. It depends on who has an access more or less to care and after having
access, receiving it in good or low quality. The evolution of health care in the United States started
over 300 years ago. It is divided into six main important eras: the charitable, the educational era, the
insurance era, the government era, the managed care era and the consumerism era. The charitable
includes period from about 1700 to about 1830. In the beginning of this period, health care was
provided voluntarily in public houses mostly for needy citizens. Those who had money could afford
seen or treated at homes. The firs hospital was built in Philadelphia in 1752, after about 40 years
hospital in New York opened their doors for people who need a treat. At the same time in New York
state passed licensure act that person who wants to practice medicine or surgery must have been
examined

Quarter View
View of the Quarter Over the Christmas holidays I visited one of my favorite childhood restaurants in
the Metairie area. Quarter View, located on Clearview Parkway, has been one of my favorite places to
eat rich, New Orleans style cuisine ever since I was a young child. Friday night of every week my
family and I would enjoy dinner after a week of school and work. The consistently delicious food
makes it difficult to choose to eat out anywhere else. Over the Christmas holiday was the first time I
returned to eat here in numerous years; and it was a pleasant surprise with the warm atmosphere,
helpful staff, and delectable New Orleans cuisine. The atmosphere of the entire restaurant popped the
second I walked into the building with a warm welcome by a beautiful young hostess, and the classic
blues and jazz sounds of the French Quarter fill the building with the rhythmic quality of Jackson
Square. When I was escorted to the table, it was impossible to avoid noticing the glamorous mural of
the streets throughout the French Quarter with wrought iron fences, balconies, and buggies pulled by
graceful horses with flowing manes. Once seated inside the bustling restaurant everything seemed to

Handguns Should Not Be Banned Handguns
Gun violence, especially that as caused by handguns, is a major problem in America. It affects
millions of people annually, and the effects it has are irreversible. However, this reality does not
constitute for a complete ban on the private ownership of handguns. A ban on the private ownership of
handguns should not be enacted on the grounds that the United States government ought to preserve
democratic legitimacy and constitutionalism, and a ban is not feasible or just in America s political
climate. Every day, 282 people are shot in the United States but this is not merely the result of the
array of firearms available in this country. Instead, a minority of the guns that Americans own are
responsible for much of this violence. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Wintemute and Teret, professors at Johns Hopkins University attribute this to the shame associated
with mental health in America. Data from the Federal Bureau of Investigation reveals that from 1990
to 1997, 90,000 of the 147,000 suicides committed were committed with a firearm―a tribute to the
handgun s operational simplicity and effectivity. Overall, handguns are responsible for seventy percent
of firearm suicides. Douglas Wiebe of the University of California Los Angeles School of Public
Health conducted a nationally representative study which revealed that ninety four percent of gun
related suicides would not have occurred had a gun not been present.
A motley of international examples provide proof of concept for a national handgun ban. For example,
the Australian prime minister announced in 1996 that Australia would be enacting a national handgun
ban, and guns would be collected through a gun buyback program. This resulted in the confiscation of
650,000 guns, a forty two percent drop in the homicide rate, and a fifty seven percent drop in the
firearm suicide rate. In addition, no mass shootings have occurred since the ban, a sharp contrast to the
thirteen shootings that took place in the thirteen years before. The homicide rate also fell to less than
one per one hundred thousand, while the United States hovers at five per one hundred thousand.
Professor Donahue of Stanford University attributes this to more than merely the

Child Physical Abuse
Physical. Emotional. Sexual. Neglect. Four types of abuse that a child should NEVER have to endure.
The information shared in this paper will take you on an unpleasant journey into child abuse. After
exploring the types of abuse, you will learn about the unfortunate effects abuse has on children (both
short term and long term). The statistics of child abuse in the county in which we live is devastating.
Information on how to report abuse in Greene County will be provided. That, along with facilities in

I found, through further research, that sexual abuse includes more than bodily contact. Which means,
having a child view pornographic material is considered sexual abuse. A HelpGuide.Org article, Child
Abuse and Neglect, explained that sexual abuse victims feel guilty and shameful for the abuse they
have endured. Can you believe that? They are made to feel as though their word versus the abuser s
word means nothing. I have often heard that men/women that sexually abuse children are most often a
family member or friend of the family. Think about that for a minute. How are children supposed to
process what is happening to them by this trusted adult they have known (probably) most of their
lives? According to eSchoolToday, children who are abused sexually tend to show some physical
symptoms (hiding, STDs, and genital pain), health symptoms (anorexia, bowel disorders, and repeated
headaches/stomach aches), and behavioral symptoms (substance abuse, withdraw, and decreased
school performance/participation). Again, the long term effects of this type of abuse mimic the other
two mentioned thus far. Melissa and Joshua Hall, however, provided some additional effects in their
article entitled, The Long Term Effects of Childhood Sexual Abuse: Counseling Implications. The
article reiterated that stress and anxiety play a role long term. They also explained how former
children of sexual abuse tend to act one of two ways about sexual activity in their teen and/or adult
years. They either overindulge...OR...act completely uninterested. Again, every child will respond
differently to abusive situations. Trying to cope with the debilitating effects of abuse will be discussed
in the pages to come, but neglect needs to be addressed

one that I had to do. It was a challenge to play the piece right. What I go on my piece was what I

last year s piece was much slower than this year s piece. My music piece that I picked was not
something that the Catholic Christian Faith influenced me to play it, it was my choice of which piece I
know I have to ability to play it well for Solo and Ensemble. I did play my piece well but there were
things that I still need to work on. The things I need to work on are keeping my flute straight, not on a

Questions On Mixed Metal Oxides
2.11.3 Mixed metal oxides
Despite the advantages of individual metal oxides, their CLC performance decreased with the increase
of cycles due to the harsh CLC conditions. Therefore, the pure phase of mixed metal oxides and its
supported form were prepared from the precursors and the selected support to overcome the
limitations of individual metal oxides. The characteristics of individual metal oxides can be retained or
even enhanced by mixing of appropriate individual oxides for CLC application in terms of multi cycle
CLC performance (cost, activity, stability, mechanical strength, reduction in carbon deposition, etc.).
The mixed oxide of Fe and Mn has been developed in our lab as a possible candidate for CLC. Fe Mn
mixed oxide possesses the promise as oxygen carrier for the CLC applications due to availability of
low cost minerals precursors, relatively high OCC, stability and environmentally benign nature.
Mungse et al. reported the pure phase of iron manganese oxides (FeMnO3 and Fe3Mn3O8) that
exhibit CLOU property. It was found that Fe3Mn3O8 was reduced into FeMnO3 at higher
temperatures. Fe3O4 and MnO were observed as reduced products after methane combustion reaction
of FeMnO3 [25]. Nickel manganese oxides were also prepared for methane conversion [50].
CoO NiO oxides were prepared as mixed oxide based oxygen carrier, however, the reaction rate was
lower than that of its individual oxides due to the formation of a solid solution of NiCoO2. However,
carbon deposition was

The Between Iran And The United States
Imagine growing up in chains, living a life of strict rules and harsh punishments, a life in which fear
was your closest companion. This is the basic concept explored by Marjane Satrapi in her
autobiographical graphic fiction Persepolis . Satrapi focuses on her own struggles growing up in Iran
during the Islamic Revolution and Iran s war with Iraq. Both of these events help establish the setting
and create an intensely high cultural climate. Persepolis is centered on Iran s cultural distinctions and
offers a symbolic glimpse into American freedom. When compared, Iran and the United States differ
greatly in the establishment of religious, political, and social institutions.
The biggest contrast between Iran and the United States is the level of religious diversity practiced
within each nation. Iran s population is 99% Islamic and only 1% non Islamic ( Iranian Groups 1) .
The United States shows greater diversity with its population being 70% Christian, 23% Atheist, and
7% non Christian. ( America s Religious Landscape 3). Iran claims that it offers religious freedom, yet
those who choose to practice another faith are in danger of being denied basic civil rights and liberties
and can even be executed. Persepolis allows us to see how the Islamic faith is unwavering within Iran.

The United States And The Great Depression
To Americans, Australia may seem like a completely distant and disconnected land just because of
how far it is and because it is technically and island. However, the fact of the matter is that Australia,
just like most of the places colonized by Great Britain, is still considered a western country. That
along with the interconnectedness of a globalized economy makes it so that Australia is still affected,
both positively and negatively, by the changes of the United States and Britain. Such was the case
when the United States suffered what is now known as the great depression in 1929. The great
depression spread throughout most western countries and beyond and Australia was no exception.
Australia was hit with the depression not long after the United States and it reached its peak in 1932.
The depression hit Australia quite hard and the economic recovery was fairly slow and lasted until just
about the beginning of the Second World War. This was partly due to having a number of badly
implemented policies by a disputing government. While some say that it was the Premiers Plan that
led the country out of the depression others argue that there was no one single policy or plan
responsible but rather a combination of many. One act that had a hand in leading Australia out of the
great depression was the devaluation of the currency.
Explanation of chosen theory:
To first understand the situation that Australia was in during the great depression and all of the events

Copper Cycle Lab Report
Purpose
The ultimate purpose of this experiment is to go through the copper cycle through various steps that
include dissolution, precipitation, conversion, and reduction of copper. Throughout the processes the
qualitative observations were recorded to see what effect each type of acid and decanting has on
copper. All of these steps were successfully completed by using different acidic solutions and zinc to
take copper through the cycle from copper solid to copper nitrate to copper hydroxide, to copper
oxide, to copper II sulfate, and back to copper solid.

Midwest Research Paper

There are many different great places to live in the United States. Each region of the US is very
different from the others. My favorite region is the Midwest. I like the Midwest for many reasons, but
mainly because it contains my hometown. States in the Midwest vary from South Dakota, to Kansas,
to Wisconsin, and Ohio. Illinois, my home state, is also in the Midwest. South Dakota has a well
known tourist attraction. This is known as Mount Rushmore. Kansas is known as a pretty barren state.
Along with Illinois, they have lots of agriculture. The main crops in the Midwest include corn,
soybeans, and wheat. Wisconsin is called the Badger state, but is known for the large amount of dairy
produced there. Supposedly, there are more cows in Wisconsin than there are people. There are also
several big cities in the Midwest. The biggest city is Chicago, Illinois, which is situated right along
Lake Michigan. Indianapolis, Columbus, and Detroit are the next largest cities in the Midwest.

There are various materials which can be used on aircrafts. Composite and alloy materials are the
primary component used due to the ability to combine certain materials with different strengths
together to create a composite or alloy. These have ultimate properties that are needed to create an
aircraft to be used safely in application. Composites are used due to the extreme high strength to
weight ratio, although using large amounts of metals can be strong, unlike composites this would be
too heavy. Composites essentially are designed to create a lighter aircraft, which over a long period of
time, would be more cost effective for company running the plane, due to fuel savings.

Due to the lack of corrosion resistance, it is common to add a clad layer of aluminium 1100, which
provides the resistance to corrosion. Adding the extra aluminium as a clad causes the weight and cost
to rise. Due to this, many different alloys were created to allow the aircrafts to be lighter and cheaper
to manufacture and run such as aluminium Lithium. Aluminium lithium alloys are used on modern
aircrafts like the Boeing 777 and the 787 dreamliner. A typical aluminium lithium alloy is Aluminium
2090 T83.
Aluminium 2090 T83 is an aluminium lithium alloy which consists of many different materials; AL,
Cr, Cu, Fe, Li, Mg, Mn, Si, Ti, Zn and Zr. The alloy is a light weight material and offers a higher
strength to weight ratio than other materials that are currently being used due to the low lithium
content. The advantage that it has over the 2024 is that 2090 T83 does not need a clad of aluminium as
the alloy resists corrosion, the material as a whole is less dense and has a higher strength properties.
Aluminium lithium alloys are also easy to machine, making welds easier than other alloys creating it
to be cheaper to manufacture and maintain.
Alloy 2090 T83 is primarily designed to be used in applications where high strength requirements are
necessary. Currently the alloy is used for aircraft bulkhead stiffeners to take advantage of the high
strength and lower density to achieve a substantial weight reduction. This material is also used in the

Indi The Architecture Of Community
1. Introduction
A City is not an accident but the result of coherent vision and aims.
Leon Krier, The Architecture of Community
India is moving towards fast paced economic growth. After India entered Open Market Operations
under the leadership of Prime Minister P.V. Narsimha Rao, economic policies endured lots of
opportunities for foreign direct investment further offering people new windows of employment and
growth of the nation overall. In the reports of McKinsey s India s Urban awakening, it has been
mentioned that many countries are facing problems of aging population whereas India comparatively
has a young and growing population which is a potential demographic advantage . For this advantage
to work wonders, India needs urban centers with better transportation, infrastructural facilities and
housing. In the very same report of McKinsey, it said that the urban economy will provide 85 percent
of total revenue, which will finance development nationwide . Thus report of McKinsey indirectly
states that cities are the engines of growth, hence with better transportation system and infrastructure
the urban development will enhance at a faster pace.
Public transportation takes a special place in city s smooth functioning, since it offers mobility and
access to people in accomplishing their daily tasks. Technological advancement and rise in incomes
have made people to rely more on private mode of transport due to poor services by public transport
agencies in India.

Alcoholic husbands in India beat their wives for multiple reasons, for demanding their wives to
provide them with money to drink from the meager and inadequate funds that they have to spend on
their families, for stopping their wives from nagging them for drinking too much and influencing the
children wrongly.
Social Norms in Beating
Indian society is a highly patriarchal society and has always given men more rights over women. In
such situations the woman begins to feel helpless and her life meaningless, this instigates the husband
to feel more powerful and dominant. Moreover economically backward and illiterate families have the
problems of bad relationships between the mother in law and daughter in law, where the husband
siding with his mother, finds it right to hit his wife to teach her a lesson.
Reaction of Women to Domestic Violence
a) Passively
A passive woman says nothing and allows the abuse to continue. She becomes the abuser s enabler.
She grows weaker and allows the abuser to grow stronger. Her passivity prolongs the loss of her own
honor and dignity, and encourages the abuse to continue.

deteriorates into a sinful rage that seeks revenge. Her response might include anything from filing for

with love and loss. Love of people, love of things, loss of dreams, loss of innocence, loss of love...
The Great Gatsby can be seen as a romance novel, or a tragedy, or possibly even a coming of age story
for the narrator, Nick Carraway. His position as narrator of this novel shows how Fitzgerald wanted to
keep the mythical and almost surreal nature of Mr. Gatsby. Gatsby has money, a high social ranking,
extravagant parties, and a girl to dream about endlessly, whereas Nick exists almost in the shadows of
Gatsby with no dream at all. Nick watches as Gatsby s life changes and falls apart around him, and
Nick s opinion of him varies and fluctuates at times, but he was also the closest friend Gatsby had ever

he is in no way a static character. He is also human, and is flawed, and has kept his morals throughout
life, making him the only character in the story who can really change at all. When Nick moved to

The Heidi Chronicles Essay
The Heidi Chronicles by Wendy Wasserstein kept my interest so much that I could not put it down
until I was to the last page. I liked how the issue of sexuality played a role along with the issue of
feminist goals in this play. I believe they complimented one another in that both groups strive for
equal right among the majority. For example when Peter starts to march with the other women from
the Art Institute. It shows that he is standing for a cause the effects another minority group in our
society: women.
I found Susan very interesting in the play. At the beginning she is always concerned with impressing
the guys, rolling her skirt to appear more attractive. Peter ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I believe Scoop is too much of a chauvinistic pig especially when he assigns a grade to everything
from food, music, and women. He is a prime example of why there are feminist out there to put men
like him back in his cage.
Act 2, Scene 2 is where I had the strongest reaction that is when Peter, Scoop, and Heidi went on a
talk show. What made me mad was before the show Denise told Peter to act out his sexuality more
than usual. Basically telling him to be the stereotypical, flaming homosexual for the television
audience. It reminded me of the Jerry Springer episodes where they bring out the gay guests that have
cheated on their lovers: been there, done that, now they are back for more attitude. Which is a false
portrayal of the gay community. Betrayal happens in any kind of relationship whether is gay or
straight relationship. The talk show they are on reminds me of the Dr. Laura show. April, the host,
makes several comments that have gay derogatory undertones. April talks about how their generation
is rich, powerful, famous, and even parents. Then she makes a comment to the effect of What if Peter
Pan came through our bedroom windows? Peter Pan I think symbolizes homosexuality as a disease the
way she talks about it. Her narrow minded perspective makes it seem that just because
somebody chooses an alternative lifestyle that they can no longer be rich, powerful, famous, or even
parents. Even though she is a fictional

John Lewis Walking With The Wind
We need it to steer us all where we deserve to go in the next. John Lewis writes a short, factual story
about one of his childhood experiences titled: Walking With The Wind. He relates this event to civil
circumstances and social inequalities. His message is that people need to battle the storms or arising
disaster as a collective instead of individually. Not only will rising above the issue be much easier as a
group, the next problem that appears will be more manageable. This essay critiques his use of
imagery, vocabulary, sentence structure and voice in regards to how his writing fits the message.
Imagery is a very prominent part of Walking With The Wind . Examples of some well done imagery
within the piece are: a place of thick, pine forests and white cotton fields and about fifteen of us
children were outside my Aunt Seneva s house, playing in her dirt yard . While these quotations do not
fit well with the theme, the images ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Walking With The Wind , the author often used in long, eloquent sentences as a tool to paint images
across the readers mind. An example of this is: The sky began clouding over, the wind started picking
up, lightning flashed in the distance, and suddenly I wasn t thinking about playing, I was terrified.
Lewis also used long sentences to better convey the metaphore the story inspired. More than half a
century has passed since that day and it has struck me more than once over these many years that our
society is not unlike the children in that house, rocked again, again by the winds of one storm or
another, the walls around us seeming at times like they might fly apart is an example of a metaphorical
sentence. Short, choppy sentences are usually used to both make a point, and create a rapid, tension
filled scene. Examples of this are: And we did. And we still do, all of us. You and I and We were
scared. Even Aunt Seneva was scared. And then it got

Not Only Natalee Is Missing By Anne-Marie O Connor
When Natalee Holloway went missing her face was plastered on every television screen to promote
her being found. Some people wonder why white females make national news more often than any
other female or male for that matter. In the argumentative essay Not Only Natalee is Missing Anne
Marie O Connor tries to explain how and why people make national news. O Connor s essay starts out
based on the idea that white females are the only ones that make national news, but her use of pathos,
ethos, and logos, prove this idea to be based upon economic status and race rather than gender alone.
The author uses pathos to appeal to the audience s sense of open mindedness about women who make
national news. O Connor tries to get the reader to realize how being human can cause people to
overlook certain stories and make them seem unimportant. In her essay she states, We don t pay as
much attention to someone missing from a community we don t know or are not familiar with (661).
This quotation symbolizes how sometimes people can be overlooked in today s news. The issue about
who makes national news can appeal to more than just a sense of open mindedness, it can also appeal
to your sense of sympathy. When news reporters get their stories, no one is for sure how long the story
can stay lingering amongst people. Earl Hutchinson, a political analyst, states, When you raise the
issue people say, This is a tragedy and we should do more, Hutchinson said. But it only lasts a hot
minute.

How Does Shakespeare Present Iago s Character In Othello Throughout literature, authors manipulate their characters in certain manners to help the audience discover their identities and their personalities. One way that William Shakespeare presents Iago s character in Othello is through Iago s sacrifices. Shakespeare communicates Iago s pure craving for revenge through what Iago is willing to give up and emphasizes just how far Iago s envy will persuade him to go. Iago is willing to sacrifice all the honor that is and could ever be associated with his name just for the idea of Othello s downfall. Despite the fact that Iago is angry with Othello and Cassio, Iago should not be mad enough about the promotion to lead it to the end of Othello or the murder of Desdemona. While it is understandable that he would be mad, Iago does not have a reason to be this angry and this creates a complexity to Iago s character that makes him an interesting villain. The audience can conclude that Iago simply enjoys the idea of hurting others. He is flattered by how manipulative and sneaky he is, and often times throughout the play, he will have an aside speech where he tells the audience just what he has done and what it will lead to. Iago s character is very diverse, yet simple at the same time. He enjoys the art of evil and seeing others suffer. This contributes a great deal to the play because once it is evident to the audience that there is not much standing in the way between Iago and evil, it is understood that he will not stop until he feels that he has got his revenge. It can also be understood that in order for Iago to feel truly satisfied, there will need to be pain and harm towards Othello, and perhaps even Cassio. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I suppose Eliot realised the propensity of man is to analyse themselves up against the things that we value and dream of to acquire. Therefore I deem Eliot to have tried to rid this common perception and teach us that this view hinders us from living full, active lives. I presume T.S. Eliot replaces his perception with Prufrock?s, which is ultimately the theme of the poem. However this is unclear, because T.S. Eliot might have replaced Prufrock with his view on the typical individual that he despises. It is quite evident that Prufrock has qualities derived from both these two examples. For example, Prufrock is obsessed with his appearance, age and things which have no lifelong value, and this ultimately leads Prufrock to individual isolation and a perpetual loathing of mankind, and this negatively affects him. So it is unclear who Prufrock is, in terms of if he is Eliot?s perception of the typical man or if he is the typical man that Eliot despises, or both. Regardless of this, I believe that Eliot is trying to convey an examination of the tortured psyche of the prototypical modern man, a prototypical man who is overeducated, eloquent and neurotic, like Prufrock, who is often moody, indecisive, isolated, but yet a sensitive thinker. Care Implemented by patient that means patient should take care not only for him or herself but also for his or her family. People should judge the social distribution of levels of quality in the community. It depends on who has an access more or less to care and after having access, receiving it in good or low quality. The evolution of health care in the United States started over 300 years ago. It is divided into six main important eras: the charitable, the educational era, the insurance era, the government era, the managed care era and the consumerism era. • 21. Quarter View View of the Quarter Over the Christmas holidays I visited one of my favorite childhood restaurants in the Metairie area. Quarter View, located on Clearview Parkway, has been one of my favorite places to eat rich, New Orleans style cuisine ever since I was a young child. Friday night of every week my family and I would enjoy dinner after a week of school and work. The consistently delicious food makes it difficult to choose to eat out anywhere else. Over the Christmas holiday was the first time I returned to eat here in numerous years; and it was a pleasant surprise with the warm atmosphere, helpful staff, and delectable New Orleans cuisine. The atmosphere of the entire restaurant popped the second I walked into the building with a warm welcome by a beautiful young hostess, and the classic blues and jazz sounds of the French Quarter fill the building with the rhythmic quality of Jackson Square. When I was escorted to the table, it was impossible to avoid noticing the glamorous mural of the streets throughout the French Quarter with wrought iron fences, balconies, and buggies pulled by graceful horses with flowing manes. It affects millions of people annually, and the effects it has are irreversible. However, this reality does not constitute for a complete ban on the private ownership of handguns. A ban on the private ownership of handguns should not be enacted on the grounds that the United States government ought to preserve democratic legitimacy and constitutionalism, and a ban is not feasible or just in America s political climate. Data from the Federal Bureau of Investigation reveals that from 1990 to 1997, 90,000 of the 147,000 suicides committed were committed with a firearm―a tribute to the handgun s operational simplicity and effectivity. Overall, handguns are responsible for seventy percent of firearm suicides. Douglas Wiebe of the University of California Los Angeles School of Public Health conducted a nationally representative study which revealed that ninety four percent of gun related suicides would not have occurred had a gun not been present. A motley of international examples provide proof of concept for a national handgun ban. For example, the Australian prime minister announced in 1996 that Australia would be enacting a national handgun ban, and guns would be collected through a gun buyback program. This resulted in the confiscation of 650,000 guns, a forty two percent drop in the homicide rate, and a fifty seven percent drop in the firearm suicide rate. In addition, no mass shootings have occurred since the ban, a sharp contrast to the thirteen shootings that took place in the thirteen years before. I found, through further research, that sexual abuse includes more than bodily contact. Which means, having a child view pornographic material is considered sexual abuse. A HelpGuide.Org article, Child Abuse and Neglect, explained that sexual abuse victims feel guilty and shameful for the abuse they have endured. Can you believe that? They are made to feel as though their word versus the abuser s word means nothing. I have often heard that men/women that sexually abuse children are most often a family member or friend of the family. Think about that for a minute. How are children supposed to process what is happening to them by this trusted adult they have known (probably) most of their lives? According to eSchoolToday, children who are abused sexually tend to show some physical symptoms (hiding, STDs, and genital pain), health symptoms (anorexia, bowel disorders, and repeated headaches/stomach aches), and behavioral symptoms (substance abuse, withdraw, and decreased school performance/participation). Again, the long term effects of this type of abuse mimic the other two mentioned thus far. Melissa and Joshua Hall, however, provided some additional effects in their article entitled, The Long Term Effects of Childhood Sexual Abuse: Counseling Implications. The article reiterated that stress and anxiety play a role long term. They also explained how former children of sexual abuse tend to act one of two ways about sexual activity in their teen and/or adult years. They either overindulge...OR...act completely uninterested. Again, every child will respond differently to abusive situations. Trying to cope with the debilitating effects of abuse will be discussed in the pages to come, but neglect needs to be addressed ... Questions On Mixed Metal Oxides 2.11.3 Mixed metal oxides Despite the advantages of individual metal oxides, their CLC performance decreased with the increase of cycles due to the harsh CLC conditions. Therefore, the pure phase of mixed metal oxides and its supported form were prepared from the precursors and the selected support to overcome the limitations of individual metal oxides. The characteristics of individual metal oxides can be retained or even enhanced by mixing of appropriate individual oxides for CLC application in terms of multi cycle CLC performance (cost, activity, stability, mechanical strength, reduction in carbon deposition, etc.). The mixed oxide of Fe and Mn has been developed in our lab as a possible candidate for CLC. Fe Mn mixed oxide possesses the promise as oxygen carrier for the CLC applications due to availability of low cost minerals precursors, relatively high OCC, stability and environmentally benign nature. Mungse et al. reported the pure phase of iron manganese oxides (FeMnO3 and Fe3Mn3O8) that exhibit CLOU property. It was found that Fe3Mn3O8 was reduced into FeMnO3 at higher temperatures. Fe3O4 and MnO were observed as reduced products after methane combustion reaction of FeMnO3 [25]. Nickel manganese oxides were also prepared for methane conversion [50]. • 28. The Between Iran And The United States Imagine growing up in chains, living a life of strict rules and harsh punishments, a life in which fear was your closest companion. This is the basic concept explored by Marjane Satrapi in her autobiographical graphic fiction Persepolis . Satrapi focuses on her own struggles growing up in Iran during the Islamic Revolution and Iran s war with Iraq. Both of these events help establish the setting and create an intensely high cultural climate. Persepolis is centered on Iran s cultural distinctions and offers a symbolic glimpse into American freedom. When compared, Iran and the United States differ greatly in the establishment of religious, political, and social institutions. The biggest contrast between Iran and the United States is the level of religious diversity practiced within each nation. Iran s population is 99% Islamic and only 1% non Islamic ( Iranian Groups 1) . The United States shows greater diversity with its population being 70% Christian, 23% Atheist, and 7% non Christian. ( America s Religious Landscape 3). Iran claims that it offers religious freedom, yet those who choose to practice another faith are in danger of being denied basic civil rights and liberties and can even be executed. The United States And The Great Depression To Americans, Australia may seem like a completely distant and disconnected land just because of how far it is and because it is technically and island. However, the fact of the matter is that Australia, just like most of the places colonized by Great Britain, is still considered a western country. That along with the interconnectedness of a globalized economy makes it so that Australia is still affected, both positively and negatively, by the changes of the United States and Britain. Such was the case when the United States suffered what is now known as the great depression in 1929. The great depression spread throughout most western countries and beyond and Australia was no exception. Australia was hit with the depression not long after the United States and it reached its peak in 1932. The depression hit Australia quite hard and the economic recovery was fairly slow and lasted until just about the beginning of the Second World War. This was partly due to having a number of badly implemented policies by a disputing government. While some say that it was the Premiers Plan that led the country out of the depression others argue that there was no one single policy or plan responsible but rather a combination of many. One act that had a hand in leading Australia out of the great depression was the devaluation of the currency. Due to the lack of corrosion resistance, it is common to add a clad layer of aluminium 1100, which provides the resistance to corrosion. Adding the extra aluminium as a clad causes the weight and cost to rise. Due to this, many different alloys were created to allow the aircrafts to be lighter and cheaper to manufacture and run such as aluminium Lithium. Aluminium lithium alloys are used on modern aircrafts like the Boeing 777 and the 787 dreamliner. A typical aluminium lithium alloy is Aluminium 2090 T83. Aluminium 2090 T83 is an aluminium lithium alloy which consists of many different materials; AL, Cr, Cu, Fe, Li, Mg, Mn, Si, Ti, Zn and Zr. The alloy is a light weight material and offers a higher strength to weight ratio than other materials that are currently being used due to the low lithium content. The advantage that it has over the 2024 is that 2090 T83 does not need a clad of aluminium as the alloy resists corrosion, the material as a whole is less dense and has a higher strength properties. Aluminium lithium alloys are also easy to machine, making welds easier than other alloys creating it to be cheaper to manufacture and maintain. Alloy 2090 T83 is primarily designed to be used in applications where high strength requirements are necessary. O Connor tries to get the reader to realize how being human can cause people to overlook certain stories and make them seem unimportant. In her essay she states, We don t pay as much attention to someone missing from a community we don t know or are not familiar with (661).
