Interest Rate And Interest Rates
1.1 Background of the Study Interest rate is the amount of interest due per period, as a proportion of
the amount lent, deposited or borrowed (called the principal sum). The total interest on an amount lent
or borrowed depends on the principal sum, the interest rate, the compounding frequency, and the
length of time over which it is lent, deposited or borrowed (Wikipedia). Interest rate as policy
instrument can be used to foster meaningful macroeconomic stability, the rate of interest exacts its
influence on the macro economy by transmitting through savings, investment, output, employment,
money supply and balance of payment. As a return on investment in financial assets, interest rate

The country s agricultural products is divided into two main groups: food crops and cash crops
produced for home consumption and exports. The special interest of Government in the Agricultural
sector is due to its relevance in the provision of raw materials for industries and most importantly the
provision of food for the teaming population of Nigeria. (Akiri and Adofu 2007). Basically, agriculture
provides 65% employment opportunities for the population to reduce poverty and contributes to the
growth of the economy (Okoro, 2011). The development of agriculture in Nigeria has been slow
despite the various agricultural policies. In fact, the government recognized the unhealthy
condition(such as lack of access to technology, lack of access to farm inputs, lack of financial
empowerment, high risk etc.) of Nigerian agricultural sector since 1970, and has formulated and
introduced a number of programmes and strategies aimed at resolving this situation. These measures
includes, introduction of scheme such as the River Basin Development Authority (1979), National
Accelerated Food Production (NAFP) was introduced in 1972, Operation Feed the Nation (OFN) was

Dick Hebdige Analysis
When words fail, music speaks. This saying is commonly used to support the power that humans give
music over words, to the point that they are represented better by song lyrics then their own voice.
This leads to the rise of certain styles of music that a group of individuals can relate to and find
comfort in. Throughout history it has been evident how certain genres of music have been associated
with a type of culture because it represents their struggles and voices their thoughts. However, music
does not always speak the correct way for everyone. People also tend to take lyrics and interpret them
differently than what the original artist intended them to mean. Misinterpretation can cause a lot of
controversy, especially if the meaning of a song opposes a certain culture, or individual. By comparing
Dick Hebdige s article The Meaning of Styles and Macklemore s song White Privilege, one can
analyze how music can be appropriated by other ethnicities. Hence, one can further understand the
controversy that arises ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, throughout the years Hip hop began to be appropriated by Caucasians. This can be seen in
White Privilege, where Macklemore speaks up about how Hip hop has begun to lose its earning
because Caucasians are favored in the genre that did not even began with them. Furthermore, this song
causes a great amount of controversy and backlash to Macklemore, especially from whites who felt
offended by his lyrics. Thus, the controversy that arose caused people to overlook the meaning behind
White Privilege. They viewed this song as one who focused solely on targeting the lifestyle of white,
instead of viewing the original meaning which was to acknowledge and raise awareness to the fact
that Hip Hop was an art created by African Americans. Overall, when people forget the meaning
behind important cultural aspects, they also neglect parts of that

Danger of Deforestation
The Danger of Deforestation(rough draft) By Chenghao Chen
ENGL 289
Mrs. Michelle Graf

It is obvious the importance of the forest vegetation to everyone in the society. However, people in the
past ages did a kind of thing that they thought was very meaningful cutting down the trees. When they
recall this history, most of them cannot be restrained from their remorse and guilty to it. Trees or forest
are things that not only protect the environment but also help people to live better. Destroy of forest
and deforestation brings a great many of harm to the environments as well as people in the world.
It is believed that forest is significantly important to both the environment and people s life. The
importance of forest can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So there were many people took their tools to cut trees in 1990s in China. It was just like a fashion
trend. They may use wood to produce furniture, houses, boats and they need more space to do farm
work. Therefore, they have to cut trees to make it happen. Study on the main reason for deforestation
is vital to the survey on the change of the forest land. The main reasons for deforestation are from two
aspects, one is the state owned forest area, and the other is collective forest area (John amp;Richard
1988). In fact, the amount of state owned forest area is much larger than collective forest area. The
ecological as well as financial crisis caused by the deforestation has also stayed for quite a long time.
The reasons for ecological and financial crisis in state owned forest area can be analyzed from several
aspects such as, firstly, the excessive growth of the population in state owned forest area, which makes
the overburdened of the enterprises of state owned forest area. There are about 1.3 million work forces
in state owned forest area, which may composed of one third the surplus work force this year.
Secondly, over use of the forest under the administration of state owned forest enterprises. Thirdly, the
administration systems of state owned forest enterprises perform practically no function. There are
also two reasons for the deforestation in collective forest area. Firstly, the reform of

Synthetic Vs. Natural Polymers
Synthetic vs Natural Polymers in Conditioning Shampoos
Introduction and Thesis
Cosmetics have been used for thousands of years to enhance the visual appearance of people, either
through ritualistic or aesthetic motivations. With the turn of the 20th Century, the growing trend of the
film industry caused an uprising in the commercialism of cosmetic products. This coincided with the
increasing development in the chemistry industry, to accommodate the multi billion dollar industry
which is present today. Previously, cosmetics were extracted out of natural resources such as minerals
and natural plants, however it became necessary to synthetically produce some components included
in cosmetics to accommodate the major increase in product demand (Polymer Solutions, 2014).
Polymers are the second largest class of ingredients in the cosmetic industry (Lochhead, 2016).
Polymers are molecules made up of a large number of low molecular mass units, or monomers, that
are covalently bonded together (Cosmeticsandtoiletries.com, 2016; Gruber, 2016). The combination of
monomers in a chain determines the structure, performance and physical properties of each polymer.
The backbone of a polymer includes repeating monomers; if there is only one repeating monomer than
it is a homopolymer; if there is more than one repeating monomer then this forms a copolymer, which
can either be linear or branched depending on the side groups attached (Cosmeticsandtoiletries.com,
2016; Draelos, 2016).

Climate Change Is The Global Climate System
Climate is part of our everyday lives. What we experience is the global climate system. According to
the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, climate change is, a change of climate
which is attributed directly or indirectly to human activity alters the composition of the atmosphere
and which is in addition to natural climate variability observed over comparable time periods. (Allen,
Seaman Delascio, 2009) Australia s climate has warmed a lot more since 1910 by the average of 0.9
C. it has been rising dramaticllay since 1950 s.the daytime temperatures have increased by 0.8 C
whereas in the night time, we experience 1.1 C more heat than the people living in 1900 s. (BOM
CSIRO, 2014). In 2004 more than 234 newspaper articles have concluded that we may have, in fact,
reached the tipping point for the climate change. Walker (2006) believes that this man made climate
change has caused havoc on the earth s atmosphere and the most striking of all the components is the
arctic. Farthest north is the carapace of sea ice over the Arctic Ocean. South of that is the vast ice sheet
that covers Greenland. And then there is the ocean conveyor belt, which originates in a small region of
the Nordic seas and carries heat and salt around the world.
All three seem to have inbuilt danger zones that may deserve to be called tipping points. And the
outside forces pushing them towards those points are gathering. It has been found that the summer sea
ice has shrunk by an

Steven Crane s Role in the Literary Revolution and an...
If it takes a revolutionary to topple the general way of thinking, Stephen Crane is that revolutionary
for American literature. The dominant literary movement before Crane s time, Romanticism,
originated in Germany and England as a response to classicism and soon dispersed worldwide.
(McKay 766). Romanticism stressed the power of the human conscience and the intensity of emotion.
It was essentially a spiritual movement, fiercely conflicting with the rigid rules and standards of
classicism and the restraint of the Enlightenment. The belief that all humans embodied a unique
greatness was widespread. Further along in history, however, came a man who sought to destroy this
confident idea from his despondent circumstances. Disenchanted by the ... Show more content on

Crane s literary skills were also influenced from a very early age; his brother was a newspaper
columnist who lived with him at home during his youth (Szumski 14). Similarly, his parents were
educated and civic minded, used to making persuasive speeches, admirers and cultivators of the
spoken word (Szumski 14). Even while being raised in an environment with such high moral
expectations, Crane soon displayed signs of independence. He dropped out of Methodist boarding
school to attend a military academy, where he developed an interest for poker and baseball, according
to colleague Harvey Wickham (Szumski 14). Following a life path deviating more and more from his
family s traditionalist beliefs of faith and purity, it is clear that through these factors Crane would hone
his literary skills to combat traditional norms. Crane s decision to write a story in a context (the Civil
War) with which he had no experience showed that this stemmed from his desire to dissect the
philosophy of individualism in a setting where no societal influences exist. The fact that he also does
not mention the meaning of the war and its battles demonstrates his desire to make an Everyman of
Henry: he is any young man of any era facing a trial by fire in any battle (Johnson 25). The
groundbreaking theories of Charles Darwin, an English naturalist of his time, influenced Crane s
attack on individualism. Darwinism s implications questioned orthodox religious

Karen Horney would give a lecture titled The Distrust Between the Sexes. This is basically about how
men and women are different. She gives many reasons as to how they are, but the top ones are
physically, hostility, emotionally, with attitude, intellectually, and with childhood conflicts. She was
born in 1885 and died in 1952. Suzanne Raitt writes, In 1922, at a panel over which Sigmund Freud
presided during a meeting of the Psychoanalytic Congress, a young Berlin trained psychoanalyst
delivered a paper that began one of the fiercest and longest debates in psychoanalytic theory. The
analyst the first woman ever to deliver a paper on feminine psychology at an international
psychoanalytic meeting was Karen Horney, and the paper, On the Genesis of the Castration Complex
in Women, was her famous response to the claim of her own psychoanalyst, Karl Abraham, that all
women unconsciously envy the penis and want to be men. As she gave her paper, Horney was nervous
but respectful. She carefully acknowledged the extraordinary significance of Freud s work before
going on to deliver a searing analysis of the masculinist bias of most of his theories on women. This
challenge to Freudian psychoanalytic theory set the tone for Horney s subsequent career. Karen

Voter Turnout In Primary Elections
In 2016, the primary elections voter turnout was highly disproportionate to the turnout of the general
elections that same year. In the state of Utah, 545.36% more eligible voters voted in the general
election rather to the primary elections. This is due to a lack of informed voters and the lack of societal
pressure around the primary elections versus the general elections.
Additionally, the primary elections are more likely to be an information overload to a voter. These
elections are chaotic due to there being several candidate choices, as well as there being a difference in
objectives from that of the general elections. For instance, in the primary elections the voter is
selecting between various party representatives, instead of a straight forward two party election for
president. A voter in the United States is more likely to seek a source that simplifies the information
being given, or consequently even ignores the primary election altogether. Thus resulting in a lower
voter turnout in the primaries. Alan S. Gerber s Why Don t People Vote in U.S. Primary Elections?

their policy positions when they understand that their own views are not well informed. Since the

Escaping Salem; The Other Witch Hunt of 1692
Escaping Salem; The Other Witch hunt of 1692 was penned and published by Richard Godbeer in
2005. Godbeer expressed his views on what he called basic witch trials in Salem and more
importantly, in Stamford, Connecticut Massachusetts. The same year that Salem witch hunt and trials
began in 1692, another witch hunt took place in Stamford, the Western Connecticut to when a woman
(Elizabeth Clawson) from there was also accused of Witchcraft. These witch hunt and trials took place
in colonial Massachusetts during the period 1692 93, whereby, almost 200 victims or more were

Two of whom were she mentioned as witches were then put to trial for witchcraft. Questions about
whether Kate s screaming and mostly pain were due to natural or unnatural causes arose. If she were
bewitched, how can people believe her story when the mere fact is that her information came from the
devil? These questions still remain as Godbeer reveals through narrative how the judges and the trial
were such a legal covert. It was decided that all witches must have posed a tremendous danger to the
Salem community and the Stamford, Connecticut that as proving such an invisible matter was almost
impossible since they relied on the Devils Magic (Godbeer 89 109) to account for another. The fact
that the court used Kate Branch to determine other witches through the same method, the witchcraft;
others were convicted from, showed how the courts in Connecticut were controversial and embroil in
it on their use of doubtful evidence. Kate s credibility was questioned by many and this showed that it
was almost certain the screams from Kate Brunch were mere natural and had nothing to do with the
supposedly mentioned witches who were bewitched her. Using the Devil s Magic (Godbeer 109 104)
others were convicted for, it can be also concluded that whatever information she had given could not
have been trusted by the judges since her information came from the same source other witches are
accused and convicted for. The author gives his view on this case Kate Branch as he

Becoming A New Friend Group

Lindsay was considered a good girl and now she wants to join a different social order, the burnouts.
She struggles to balance the old good girl while trying to form a new friendships with the burnouts. At
first the transfer from being a mathlete and friends with Millie to being friends with kids who are
known for skipping class is a little shaky. In a lot of ways I can compare to Lindsay especially getting
a new friend group. All my life my neighbor and I have been best friends; around freshman year he
started to hang more and more with this new group of kids, our school s infamous burnouts. I found
myself at a crossroad. I could either hang out with this new group of kids or the friend group I grew up
with since elementary school. I ended up with the burnouts just as Lindsay made the transition from so
called nerds to the rebel students. Just like my situation, first the transition was awkward and I
struggled to balance both sides but also had to also maintain my grades. Having friends who are
constantly wanting to skip and still being able to keep the A in Biology was a hard tribulation. Yes,
Lindsay and I are a like in many ways when it comes to our new choice in friends, but unlike Lindsay
I did not forsake my past. Lindsay made the decision to quit the mathlete club whereas I, never a
mathlete, continue to challenge myself with harder and harder classes. Lindsay

The Heroes Of The Trojan War
There are many hero stories in Greek mythology. Many of these can be interpreted as metaphors when
making comparisons to the lives and encounters people today experience. Many Greek myths
influenced important pieces of historic literature which have made it easier for people to find their
own ways of making these personal connections and better understanding their lives. The Trojan war
involved several heroes however Achilles is one that can easily be related to many athletes. Achilles
role in the Trojan war has many common themes that can be related to the story of Cleveland Browns
quarterback Johnny Manziel and his journey to the National Football Leauge. Both hero and athlete
were considered saviours, they were both very emotional men, and lastly they both enjoyed great
success before experiencing failure through their different achilles heels.
Johnny Paul Manziel is a quarterback for the American football team the Cleveland Browns of the
National Football League. He was drafted 22nd overall in the 2014 draft and was considered one of
the most appealing young quarterbacks of his generation. Manziel attended Texas A M University
from 2011 until 2013 on a full athletic scholarship. It was in his first season with Texas A M that he

aerial photos to build up a mosaic picture of the whole island. They brought the aeroplane equipped

Therefore the Ministry of Housing and Lands (MHL) identified the need to develop a new geodetic

The Effects Of Ozone Depletion
The ozone depletion has been well documented to negatively affect planet Earth for years. The ozone
is a thin layer of the Earth´s atmosphere which is responsible for absorbing the sun s harmful
ultraviolet light ( What is Ozone Layer?,2017). The loss of ozone on earth will take a toll on human
health, plants and marine ecosystems, ultimately resulting in a planet that does not support living
things. Today, this manifests in climate change. It is easy for many to confuse these two issues,
although they are connected in various ways. Loss of the ozone layer is caused by greenhouse gases
such as chlorofluorocarbons or CFCs (compounds with chlorine and/or fluorine attached to carbon), as
well as , halons (similar compounds with bromine or iodine) (Jain 2015). These chemicals can stay in
the atmosphere for up to 100 years causing damage(What is Ozone Layer?,2017). Greenhouse gases,
like carbon dioxide, contribute to global warming, which then contributes to climate change by
warming the surface and waters. These factors are resulting in a domino effect on our environment.
Climate change is classified as an abrupt increase in the Earth s temperatures typically caused by
human activity (National Aeronautics Space Administration 2016). Human activities that release
pollutants in our atmosphere are changing it and contributing to global warming and ozone depletion.
With all the knowledge, resources and tools invented for the benefit of humans, one would think that

Importance Of Quality Assurance Is A Case Management Program
An important aspect of Quality Assurance is a case management program. Case management is
frequently used for patients that have complex problems and require numerous services over an
extended period of time. Regardless of the type of case management program, they all have a similar
purpose to coordinate the care and treatment for patients with serious and life threatening conditions
over an extended period of time. Case management programs are concerned with both reducing costs,
and improving quality of care. In addition, there are some strengths, and limitations to case
management programs. Furthermore, the importance of care management programs in the future will
be discussed, along with the important role of gatekeepers in the care management process. Case
management programs are concerned with both reducing costs, and improving quality of care.
Providing patients with the care they need is essential for a health care organization, it is also essential
to provide care in a cost effective manner. Case management program goals include: promoting
patient satisfaction by optimizing patient self care, and providing high quality, cost effective care
(Case Management, n.d.). To focus on improving quality of care, case management programs must
focus on the patient, routinely involve the patient in the development of the care plan, routinely
monitor, evaluate, and modify the care plan to achieve optimal patient outcomes, and collaborate care

Adam Smith Influence on Economic Theory Essay
Why is the work of Adam Smith considered so crucial in the development of economic thought?
Adam Smith is widely regarded as the father of economics as a social science, and is perhaps best
known for his work The Wealth of Nations. Throughout this work Smith states and informs towards
his belief that society is not at its most productive when ruled over by rules and limitations with
regards to trade, and that in order for markets to maximise prosperity, a free trade environment should
be made accessible. In this essay I intend to asses the way in which many of Smiths theories taken
directly form his works can be applied to past and current situations, first from an economic then
social, and then a political point of view. I will also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The invisible hand would have such an effect if every individual acts in order to maximise their own
prosperity, the prosperity of the community will, in turn, be maximised and become more efficient.
This effect is very well exemplified in modern day terms by using a supermarket queuing system as an
example. Each customer getting in line selfishly chooses to maximize his own interest, that is to check
out in the shortest time, regardless of the other customers. Their utility maximizing choice is to get in
queue in the shortest line; this means that eventually customers queue up in lines all of the same
length. Therefore even without the slightest direction and by following only their selfishness, the lines
are all of the same length, which is clearly the most efficient disposition. This theory has been crucial
in the development of economic thought in that it is a statement which reflected society in Smiths day,
and is still so widely applicable in modern day society. From a political point of view, Smith wrote
that Government intervention should be kept to a minimum within society. From a mercantilist point
of view this was a terrible suggestion, however Smith argued that government intervention in markets
will cause a limitation in productivity, and therefore not maximise efficiency. However if left alone as
discussed in the previous paragraph, each party will seek to maximise its own prosperity within the
given constraints, in turn maximising the

Lord Capulet Character Analysis
In Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, Lord and Lady Capulet have this idea that appearance
contains more prominence than having a relationship with their daughter as well as each other. As a
result of this conception, it can be observed that they are disconnected from the principles of reality.
With that being said, towards the middle of Act III scene V, Lady Capulet tells Juliet of her father s
plan for her wed to Paris, The County. However, when she refuses, her father s reaction isn t what the
audience would ve expected considering his previous reaction to his daughter marrying in general in
Act I. On top of that, The Capulets are so twisted up into what they call the perfect life, that they are

Women were expected to be obedient to the men in their family. With that being said it was pretty
much Lady Capulet s job to try and persuade Juliet to marry Paris. Readers most likely notices that
Lady Capulet and the nurse are the only two people who actually talk to Juliet about marriage. It was

probably even younger than Juliet. She tells her daughter to Study his (Paris ) face and find pleasure in
his beauty (pg.1008). She continues to instruct Juliet of what to do when she encounters Paris and that
is only examining his physical features rather than than teaching her daughter to fall in love with one s
character. What is implied at this scene is, a person can only go by what they have been taught.
Obviously when Lady Capulet was Juliet s age, there was only two things she had to focus on when
marrying someone and that is money and looks. Shakespeare demonstrates that love for the Capulet s
stays on the outside. Lady Capulet does not have the ability to understand love goes far beyond that
even though her own daughter does. As a result of that, Juliet does fall in love, but not with

Modern Day Growth And Development
The most imminent threat to our planet is our ignorance. Every time we choose to disregard, the
problems we face continue to cultivate. The Sustainable Development Goals are one of the most
recent initiatives to realize the danger the planet faces. Of the numerous environmental issues included
in its schema, one is energy. More specifically, the need to warrant accessibility and affordability of
modern energy to everyone across the globe.
The agenda under this division of clean energy segments into multiple targets which the Division for
Sustainable Development (DSD) of the United Nations hopes to achieve by the year 2030. Energy

Simply stating universal access fails to set a quantitative target for the governments to achieve, leaving
an open ended target which to a great extent is non measurable. No one can be statistically held
accountable for failing to meet the target. However, numerous entitles currently operating have
gathered data to give some insight into the lack of availability of modern energy to countless around
the globe. The International Energy Agency (IEA) plays a leading role in underlining this particular
target and has estimated that an additional US$45 billion needs to be invested annually till 2030 to

What is a KAP study? KAP study stands for knowledge, attitude and practice study.KAP studies are
highly focused evaluations that measure changes in human knowledge, attitudes and practices in
response to a specific intervention, usually outreach, demonstration or education (The Duluth
Lakeside Neighbourhood KAP Study Karlyn Eckman and Rachel Walker, July
2008). KAP studies are an important tool in the field of public health. They are more cost effective and
they also use resources sparingly in comparison to other methods of social research because of their
great focus and limitations of scope. Social surveys include a broader range, whereas KAP studies
focus only on a
particular topic. The emphasis in a KAP study is on: Knowledge: It is the understanding of a particular
topic. What does a community know about a certain thing ? Attitude: It means what they feel about a
particular thing and the pre conceived notions which they might have about it. Practice: The actions
which are displayed as a direct consequence of the knowledge and attitude possessed by the
community.
Protocol of a KAP research: It consists of a methodology which defines the design of the study, the
manner in which it should be conducted and the way to analyse the findings. The following elements

Information Systems And Data Security
Introduction
Information systems and data security to organization has in the recent years increased drastically. A
computer can be illustrated as a device that is mainly use to process data into information which is
useful to the user. The expert who deal with Information and technology related safety measures are
resourceful when it comes to the process of information system and data protection. This will ensure
that the data which belongs to companies remain confidential and inaccessible to unauthorized people.
Dangers
Computer system risks arrive in an extensive variety of structures. Presumably the most surely
understood dangers today are modifying ambushes, theft of authorized development, information
misrepresentation, thievery of apparatus or information, damage, and information intimidation. A
considerable number individuals have experienced programming assaults or the like. Contaminations,
worms, phishing assaults, and Trojan steeds are two or three typical instances of programming
assaults. The thievery of ensured development has moreover been an expansive issue for a few
associations in the IT field. Authorized advancement is the obligation regarding the most part
including some protection. Theft of writing computer programs is likely the most broadly perceived in
IT associations today. Wholesale extortion is the try to go about as someone else usually to get that
individual s near and dear information or to abuse their passage to basic information.

Analysis Of The Film Roman Polanski
Roman Polanski noted for being an iconic figure in the film world is known for producing great films
such as China Town, and The Pianist. Of those two, it is argued that, The Pianist is his best work. This
is because this film has close ties to Polanski s roots. Born in Paris, France in 1933, his father was a
Polish Jew and his mother was Catholic. Polanski s family moved to Krakow, Poland in 1936.
Unfortunately this move would negatively impact the Polanski family, forever. In 1936, the Nazi
occupation of Poland began, starting with the invasion Krakow it is known for being a Jewish city.
Having little money and virtually no time to escape, the Polanski family was forced to stay in what
would eventually become known as the Krakow Ghetto.
Polanski was merely a young child when he was forced to watch his mother being taken away by the
SS to a Nazi labor camp. As for his father, he was eventually taken as well. With Roman Polanski
being forced to fend for himself, he had to abide by Nazi rule, hiding from them the fact that he was a
Jew. Fortunately, for Polanski s genetics he looked more like a true German than he did a Jew, which
made it easier for him to survive in Krakow. In 1943, Roman Polanski escaped the ghetto, and
survived the remainder of the war using the name Romek Wilk with the help of some Polish Roman
Catholic Families. When the war ended in 1945 Roman was reunited with his father. These events in
Polanski s early childhood ultimately

Summary Of A Satire Against Reason And Mankind
A Satire against Reason and Mankind is a poem written by John Wilmot the Second Earl of Rochester.
Two things are argued against in this poem. First, mankind and its base nature that causes men to
exploit each other for seemingly no reason. Second, mankind s ability to reason which causes them to
compare themselves to God. However, at the end of the poem Rochester offers a chance for himself to
be proven wrong, but only if a just man can be found. This idea of a just man is not Rochester
believing mankind can improve, but rather it is him supporting his own argument because he knows
that this man does not exist. When this just man is described he directly contrasts with human nature
and shines a light on man s true baseness and shows ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Next, a scenario is offered to the reader to allow them to come to their own conclusion. The poem
states, Be judge yourself, I ll bring it to the test, Which is the basest creature, man or beast... Beasts on
each other prey, but savage man alone does betray... man undoes himself for no good... But man with
smiles, embraces, friendship, praise, Inhumanly his fellow s life betrays; with voluntary pain distress,
not through necessity but wantonness (2305). When animals prey on each other it is justifiable
because it is out of necessity for food, but there is no way to vindicate men for attacking one another.
Rochester then states that even men who are friends will voluntarily betray one another without
provocation. Next, Rochester s argument shifts from being directed towards men themselves, but
rather their ability to reason.
Rochester introduces a clergyman in poem to act as an adversary that argues for reason and mankind.
The clergyman states that he understands Rochester s argument but does not understand his hatred for
reason and mankind. The clergyman begins his defense of mankind and reason by saying, Blest
glorious man! To whom alone kind heaven and everlasting soul has been freely given; Whom his
creator took such care to make, That from himself he did the image take, And this fair frame in shining
reason dressed, To dignify his nature above the beast (2304). Biblical scripture is paraphrased by the
clergyman when he claims that men were made

History Of Campaign Uniforms
The regular soldier had three different uniforms a Campaign Uniform, a Parade Uniform and a Fatigue
Uniform. The government didn t discipline the soldiers like the British army did, so many of the
uniforms were adapted to the commander s preference, the location of the soldier, and materials that
were available in the area. The Service and Campaign uniforms were pretty much the same in a lot of
ways. The headdress was a black felt hat with one side pinned up with an American eagle, which was
the US s coat of arms. The coat was an almost knee length Prussian blue jacket. The rank was worn on
the coat sleeve. The overcoat was a sky blue and took after the french model. Only officers wore
these, they could also choose a dark blue version. All

Persuasive Essay On Fad Diets
Fad Diets The first fad diet that I will be talking about is the South Beach Diet. This diet includes
cutting out carbs and focusing on lean protein, low fat dairy, and good carbs whole grains, vegetables,
and fruit. While the first phase of the diet is strict, the third Maintenance phase is meant to be a
lifelong eating plan that allows you to enjoy occasional treats while maintaining a healthy weight. The
person who created the diet is a Florida based cardiologist, Arthur Agatston, MD, this diet was
released in 2003. This diet cost three hundred dollars for four weeks with fully prepared meals. The
South Beach Diet is advertised in commercials. These commercials tend to have pictures of people
losing weight very rapidly not that realistic time frame. The commercials also tend to have famous
fitness people in the commercials so that the public might believe in the diet more or are more likely
to choose it over another. The South Beach Diet is actually not that bad for you.The South Beach Diet
incorporates good carbs, healthy fats and plenty of lean protein. These are nutrient dense foods that
can turn off the switch for sugar and refined carb cravings. A fad diet is a diet that promises quick
weight loss through what is usually an unhealthy and unbalanced diet. This diet does promise quick
results and does kind of have a lack of some essential foods that we need. This diet does not require
special foods, but it does require less of a lot of foods. From this I think the

Service Marketing on Bank of America
Based on service Intangibility
Unlike goods, services are typically produced and consumed simultaneously. The service and provider
are always linked together. Banking is one of industries need much more services. Employees, Email,
ATM, Online banking are the vehicles that the bank uses to deliver their services to the customers.
Products are tangible while services are intangible in nature. Intangibility of services is derived from
the fact you cannot see or touch service. A service is made and delivered on spot and hence it cannot
be measured as easily as a tangible product as you know.
Intangibility of services can be explained by a clear comparison between those ... Show more content

Marketing an intangible product becomes even more difficult in the Bank of America. The ability to a
branch to render quality services is very impossible to market. How can you grade one branch against
the other, because there are thousands of branches of Bank of America out there and the success of
banking also depends on the ability of the customers to corporate. Thus, in such a case, you need to
market customers results to bring attention to Bank of America and the employees. You need to show
the excellent results which the employees has given because the service in itself is intangible service.
Another problem due to intangibility of service is that services cannot be stored. The intangibility of
services is the dominant characteristics of services and biggest challenge for marketers as well as
service product owners. There are five main characteristics of intangibility of services:
Service cannot be touched
There is no precise standardization method for service
Services cannot be patented
There are no inventories in service
The consumer is part of the service process because he consumes the service. Thus, either the service
must go to the customer or the customer has come to the service e.g. Bank of America
Overall, intangibility of service is a challenged being faced by many marketers, and marketers, being
smart as they are, have always countered this problem by being more innovative so that they can

The Effect Of Concentration On The Electrical Energy...
Introduction: The Voltaic, or Daniel cell, is an electrochemical cell, invented in 1836 by a British
chemist, Frederic Daniel. The cell produces electricity through a redox reaction. The combined
electric potentials of two metals in the metal sulphate solution of the electrolyte generate voltage. If
the concentration of one of the electrolyte solutions is increased, the number of cations and anions
increase (depending on which electrolyte you increase), which increases the overall voltage potential
of the cell. Equilibrium conditions are not achieved when a current flow in the circuit. The cell
potential will usually be reduced by various mechanisms; this includes the development of over
potential. As the electrolyte concentrations change and the cell voltage is reduced, the cell will operate
for longer. The concentration of the salt bridge has to be such that it can effectively separate two
electrolyte solutions, but porous enough to allow the steady exchange of cations and anions between
the two electrolytes. The experiment uses a Voltaic cell to demonstrate the effect of concentration on
the electrical energy output. Hypothesis: The hypothesis put forward is that, as the salt bridge and the
Magnesium sulphate become more concentrated, the output of energy, measured in volts, will
subsequently become greater. This is because the combined electric potential will increase as the
concentration increases. There may also be a turning point where the electrical energy output

Trayvon Martin Case Essay
February 26, 2012 marked the day that the innocent minor, Trayvon Martin, was shot to his death in a

unfortunately, it is not up to the people; it is up to the justice system. With the consideration of Florida

The tone is much more factual and is not as colloquial as popular press. The sentences are usually

than biased or seeking attention. Moreover, in The Times, the sound effects would usually be limited
to puns. Foreign publications, such as Newsweek, generally contain features of both popular press and
quality press.
The Mirror contained quite a lot of factual information. The article informed the readership that 20
skiers plunged 300ft to their deaths after a low flying American warplane sliced through the wire of
their cable car. Similarly, The Times and Newsweek also provided this information. The article in The
Times stated Twenty people fell three hundred feet to their death when an American military aircraft
sliced the steel wire supporting a cable car carrying skiers. Like the other two articles, the article in
Newsweek established that a U.S. fighter jet had clipped two cable cars and sent a gondola full of
skiers tumbling to the ground. All three articles also confirmed that there were twenty victims. The
Mirror and Newsweek gave more detail about this aspect. The Mirror stated that the victims were nine
women, 10 men and one child. Newsweek also stated that the tourists originated from seven European

Critical Review Of Tourism Literature Review
Critical Review of manuscript
This article brings to our knowledge and explains about the overall impact of tourism by taking the
four species of macropodids (Onychogalea faenata, Macropus rufogriseus, Wallabia bicolor and
Macropus giganteus) in a sanctuary as their study samples. A few negative impacts were observed on
different methods of approach and study and so it is concluded that, tours in vehicles would be better
to minimize those impacts rather than on foot. The study of this article proves to be worth reporting as
it exposes and creates the awareness in general about the negative impacts on different species due to
increasing human population and their approach towards them.
The title explains the study of this article and its findings but does not seem to be appropriate. The title
would look better if it was made precise and had apt words that best suited the article describing its
result.
The abstract gives an overall idea and the main aim of this article but has no background information
or reasoning. The study sample species names are mentioned but it lacks the methodology of their
study. It expresses a solution for the problem of the study but not a specific clear cut quantitative or
qualitative result. The content is too concise but still it conveys a message.
The introduction had the suitable information to the study and also it did introduce the topic. The aim
was explained in well organized manner but the hypothesis of the article was not clear.

Iris Marion Young s Birdcage
Iris Marion Young in her famous birdcage metaphor depicts how a system of laws, institutions, and
practices function as a system in order to restrict the social freedom of minorities (Alexander 184).
Drawing from examples in certain sociology novels, I will exhibit how the wires of the birdcage work
together to subordinate minorities to the bottom of a racial hierarchy. Furthermore, I will demonstrate
why individuals like Dr. Gregorry McGriff feel like they need to go through life at 55 MPH.
In the 1980s millions of people in inner city communities, predominantly minorities were left
unemployed due to deindustrialization and the outsourcing of manufacturing jobs. As explained in the

Women in the inner cities were forced to join the workforce in order to fill the financial void left by
the absent men of the communities (Collins and Mayer 27). However, unlike the factory jobs that paid
a living wage and provided benefits to its employees, these service sector jobs were under the terms of
the solitary wage bargain (Class Lecture 1/19/16). Under these new terms, the women in these jobs
were assumed to be ideal workers, meaning that they were given rigid schedules and paid minimum
wage with no benefits. Unfortunately, these low income women had children to take care of and
families to support on their own, so they often sought out public assistance to make ends meet.
However, the welfare to work reform can be considered another wire in the birdcage because it left
many poor minorities lacking the assistance they desperately needed. Its goal to reduce caseloads
afforded caseworkers the ability to discriminate among needy women based on race (Collins and
Mayer 60). Additionally, as Alexander explains, the reformed welfare program barred individuals with
drug related felony convictions from receiving federally funded assistance, (157). So, when the
African American men were out of prison, they couldn t receive Welfare to help support their children

Enrolling in college classes I thought I would be the oldest student in class. Walking in on my first day
I saw this little old, grey haired lady, with reading glasses on and I thought she must be the teacher.
Then a younger lady walked in and introduced herself as Mrs.Blinn. She said, Hello I will be your
anatomy and physiology teacher. I got so excited! That means the little old lady enrolled in classes just
like me so I am not the only nontraditional student.
What do traditional and nontraditional students have in common? How do they differ?
Well what constitutes a traditional student? A traditional student is a person who goes straight from
high school to college and is typically between the ages of 18 and 22. Usually they attend

These activities permit students to meet their peers and expand their social lives. As a non traditional
student I did not have many expectations of peer activities when entering college. A part of me kind of
wishes I had time for those things because it does seem to be a great part of college life. Although, I
do not think I have time for anything else in my life right now. Entering college is usually a pretty big
life change. Though it may seem fun, it may also be very stressful for some. It is noted that the
demands of college are strenuous and include long hours of study, deadlines, examinations, lack of
sleep, poor eating habits, and personal growth work that often includes the assessment of self,
including philosophical and social values (Stagman 1).
Getting a college education is essential for all students. Earning a degree can mean so much. For
some, a college degree serves as a facilitator for higher wage earnings, starts a new career path, or a
feeling of satisfaction and personal achievement. Regardless of the

Decolonization Of The British Empire
Decolonization in the British Empire is a deliberate process involving the colonial power and
emerging local elite. The discussions in Chapters 1 and 2 provide insights into colonial development
and the pre independence environment which provide context for answering the research questions
and testing the hypotheses. This chapter examines the first question why do some newly sovereign
states retain ties with the JCPC? Based on my theory that states chose the final appellant court it
expects to be a reliable partner in the new governing coalition. The emerging elite that form the
coalition are influence by the colonial experience of colony. For the purposes of this research the U.K.
s Westminster Act of 1931 or the official year of independence is considered the critical juncture. The
Westminster Act gives the Dominions Australia, Canada, and New Zealand, the option to abolish
appeals to the JCPC. The critical juncture for all other states is the year of independence starting with
India and Sri Lanka in 1948 to the most recent, Brunei, in 1984. I hypothesize that the longer length of
time the state was a colony increases the likelihood that the JCPC will be retained. Second, type of
colonial rule direct rule (as opposed to indirect) increases the likelihood that the JCPC will be retained
as the final appellant court at independence. This chapter proceeds in the following manner. First, I
explain the selection of former colonies for the sample. Second, I present the

Social Commentary In There Will Come Soft Rains By Ray...
There Will Come Soft Rains is a short story written which displays after the eradication of humanity,
nature will thrive. The story is based on the final house that is left standing after a nuclear war. It is the
only house which managed to withstand this disaster; a large fire. The author uses social commentary
to elucidate natures independence. Social commentary is when an individual speaks or writes about an
opinion on social issues or society. There Will Come Soft Rains, by Ray Bradbury presents the
audience with the idea that nature will persevere after the extinction of humanity through usage of
literary devices. An analogy is a comparison between a concept that is familiar to the audience and a
concept that is not to help endure a better understanding. Bradbury uses analogies throughout There
Will Come Soft Rains to assist the reader to depict his idea of social commentary. Foreshadowing is
used to give clues throughout a story which suggest to an outcome before the outcome occurs.
Bradbury uses foreshadowing to place an image in the reader s mind of how humanity obliviously
ruined the world. Symbolism is seen in this short story to allude to a larger, abstract idea. The author
uses this literary device to represent his idea of social commentary within the story. There Will Come
Soft Rains exhibits analogies, foreshowing, and symbolism to express Ray Bradbury s social
commentary. Analogies compare two situations which share a common theme; usually the reader

Advantages Of Binary Options
correcttrade.net What Are Binary Options? Guide for Newbies August 3rd, 2016
Headline: What Are Binary Options A Complete Guide for the Newbies
Unlike conventional forms of trading, binary options trading is a fairly simple way to earn high
payouts within a short time period. Traders choose an asset (e.g. Apple stock, Gold, GBP/USD
currency pair, S P 500 index), decide on a trade amount, and predict whether the asset price will go up
or down at the expiration time. If the trader predicts that the asset value would rise at the expiration
time, he executes a Call option. On the contrary, he places a Put option if he predicts the asset price
will fall. He gets a pre determined payout if his prediction is correct. If the prediction is incorrect, he
loses a part of his investment.
What are the advantages of binary options?
Binary options trading offers several advantages in contrast to the traditional forms of trading. Here s
a thorough analysis:

These include the stocks of multi national companies, indices across the world, major currency pairs,
and popular commodities. A platform such as correctrade offers more than 120 assets from different
asset categories. A greater number of assets enable a trader to diversify his trading portfolio by
executing trades on multiple assets simultaneously.
Extended trading hours: Another advantage of binary options trading is the ability to enjoy extended
trading hours. Brokers who offer a wide range of assets enable the traders to trade around the clock, as
the U.K, U.S., and the Asian markets do not open and close at the same time and have different
trading hours. This lets the users constantly execute binary options trades on the assets listed at all
these international markets within a span of 24 hours.

Essay on The Iniquities of the Father
The Iniquities of the Father:
A Look at the Faulknerian Family.
Faulkner has been hailed as one of the greatest writers of the twentieth century, especially for his
depictions of life in the Deep South. Many of his stories take place in fictional Yoknapatawpha
County, Mississippi. In the Sound and the Fury and As I Lay Dying, he focuses on two very different
families in this county, and explores how the iniquity of the fathers is revisited upon the children
(Holy Bible: KJV Deut. 5.9). In both novels, through the use of stream of consciousness and various
other modernist writing techniques, Faulkner looks at two deeply troubled families with weak parents
and confused children and explores how these children cope or fail to ... Show more content on

His grand father, J.W.T. Falkner, inherited a railroad company, but instead of passing it on to his son
whose first and lasting love was the railroad, he sold it for $75,000 (Minter 6 7). Young Faulkner and
his family moved to Oxford, Mississippi, where his father, Murry, a cold man whose capacity for
affection was limited, grew more and more bitter, drank whisky, and remained distant and cautious
(Minter 9). The relationship between Faulkner s father and his mother, who had probably married
Murry Falkner thinking that he would eventually run the railroad company, became more and more
strained. As the tension between them increased, Faulkner s father came more and more to regard him
as his mother s son (Minter 9).
As a child, Faulkner preferred to be the silent observer who moved back and forth between
participation and withdrawal (Minter 12). He dropped out of eleventh grade twice, before getting a
short job at his grandfather s bank, where he learned the medicinal value of his [Grandfather s] liquor
(Meriwether 7). He eventually moved to New Haven, developed a British identity, changed his last
name from Falkner to Faulkner, and joined up to become an R.F.C. pilot during World War I. He was
still in training when the war ended. He described this part of his life during an interview with
Marshall J. Smith in 1931, War came. Liked

Analysis Of Native American Folktales In The Snake Brothers
Today we often read a book or YouTube a video to learn something new or to entertain ourselves but
during the fifteenth century, technology did not exist and paper was considered a luxury. The Native
Americans used to entertain themselves by passing around stories orally, called Indian folktales. The
Native American folktales have different themes that portray different life lessons. The life lessons
that will be covered in this essay will be having self discipline, knowing that every good thing comes
to an end, and with every mistake there is a consequence. In The Snake Brothers , the main theme is
not listening to directions. One of the life lessons to be learned is to listen to directions. The characters
were four brothers all of whom were hunting for game in order to survive. They happen to come
across a buffalo who promised them it s meat, but with the offer came a direction. The older brothers
disregarded the directions and only took the meat while the youngest brother listened to the buffalo s
directions. This is proven in the story by, The youngest brother went to the top of the hill and spread
out the skin, skull, hooves, and tail just as the voice had told them. (American Indian Myths 404, 405).
The older brothers suffered a consequence for not listening to the buffalo s directions, which happened
to be turning them into snakes and not being able to return to their village. However, the younger
brother found much success after listening to the buffalos

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Autonomous Car
According to research by the University of Michigan, Malaysia ranked at top 25 most dangerous
countries for road users (The star). Most of the car accident in Malaysia is cause by bad attitude

making driving decisions without intervention of a human. Google s Driverless Car has developed and
tested a fleet of car and initiated campaigns to demonstrate the applications of technology. Tesla Motor
has also produced a fully autonomous car that can operate in any condition and on any road.

Kuala Lumpur driver spend more than 250 million hours a year stuck in traffic (worldbank). This
cause the driver become less productivity, if they are not stuck in traffic, 250 million hours of
opportunity cost could make Malaysia attain higher GDP. The autopilot feature in autonomous car
could easily resolve this problem. Driver would have more time for themselves when going in the car.
They would not be focused on the road and they can take advantage to use that time for doing other
things which could not do when driving a car. White coller could having their breakfast in car, or
having video conference meeting while on the way to office. This makes the pace of city faster and
more efficiency. Next, autonomous car also play a role to reduce the time finding a parking. According
to a research from insurance company Allianz, drivers spend up to 15 minutes extra on each journey
just looking for a space to park their car. If they drive for every meal in a day and each time spend 15
minutes extra just for parking, and ended up they will spend one hour inefficiency in their car. The
technology used in autonomous car for parking is Advanced Parking Guidance System (APGS) or
Park Assist. This technology will find a suitable space, select reverse and automatically steer itself into
the slot. It uses the reverse sensors on the side of car to analyst the space. In summary, autonomous car
could reduce the time consumption of driver spend in the car and makes the country more

Literature Review On Relationship Marketing
After reviewing some of important literature journals, I found some interesting concepts that relate to
the concerned research topic. Some of the concepts are as follows:
Relationship Marketing According to Abeysekera and Kumaradeepan s study in the year 2012,
relationship marketing can be used as a strategy to race in the market. Relationship marketing has
been operationalized using the model of trust and commitment. The findings suggest a significant
difference in relationship marketing orientation in state bank and private bank. Private Banks can be
viewed as concerned with more relationship marketing than state banks.
On the other hand, S K Das in the year 2012 contradicts this study and observes that relationship
marketing is a progressing trend in today s time but due certain reasons and hesitations like financial
problems, danger of failure, marketing inertia, etc., many banks in today s world are still following
and implementing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Based on the findings, it was concluded that banks should concentrate on improving the value
perceptions of the customers by taking into concern the easy design of the services, service
perspective and compatibility of the services delivered.
Therefore, it can be concluded that the earlier research that has been done has limitations that qualify
our findings and present opportunities for further research. Not much research has been done about the
need of CRM in improving the performance of banks and creating a better relationship with
customers. For this reason, this research has been done so that more insights into the topic could be
identified. Moreover, the earlier research done on this topic could be used as an important tool for
further research.

Aldous Huxley s Dystopian Society
In today s society, there are many distractions keeping people from acknowledging issues or topics
they d rather avoid. In the novel Brave New World, written in 1936, author Aldous Huxley constructs
a dystopian society based upon distraction. Similarly, in 1948, author George Orwell created his own
dystopia in the novel, 1984. Through both novels, the authors express their fears for the future. Social
critic Neil Postman differentiates their visions and claims that Huxley s vision of the future is more
relevant than Orwell s. Postman s assertion is extremely accurate, considering that in Brave New
World, the society Huxley created is full of distraction; from an obsession with sex to the constant use
of drugs, these coping mechanisms are still very relevant in today s society. In Brave New World,
Huxley emphasizes his dystopian society s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The controllers of the civilization distributed a drug called soma that everyone took to remain happy.
The character Lenina used the drug to cope quite often throughout the novel. At one point, Bernard
brought Lenina to a Savage Reservation in New Mexico, where she saw a countless number of things
that greatly disturbed her. She became so distraught that she felt the need to take multiple tablets to
calm herself down, Huxley stated, As soon as they got back to the rest house, she swallowed six half
gramme tablets of soma, lay down on her bed, and within ten minutes had embarked for lunar eternity
(140). This reliance on drugs as a distraction from the issues or topics they d rather avoid really reflect
the massive substance abuse prominent within today s society. There is a vast amount of drug addicts
and alcoholics that use substances to mask their true emotions and attempt to diminish any feelings of

Benefits Of United States Immigration Reform
U.S Immigration Reform
People are talking about immigration, emigration and the rest of those things. It s all freaking crap!
We re all human beings, we re all mammals, we re all rocks, plants, rivers etc. Borders are just such a
pain in the freaking arse. Shane MacGowan. The U.S immigration should make it easier for people
across the borders to come here because, so many people can come here and make a better living for
themselves. A better living for themselves are basically just living better. Being able to get by not have
to go back to what they use to do. Being grateful that because the U.S immigration made it easier for
them to come here, they are no longer struggling how they use too. I feel like U.S immigration should
make it easier for foreigners to get into the United States because, it can make a better living for
people that come from having nothing. Living on Islands other places across the borders can be hard
them because they don t have everything we have here in the United States. Some people wake up
with nothing could use help with the way they live so that they won t just give up on life. Not
everyone lives great so why not try to help them. If congress purses reasonable requirements for those
wanting to immigrate to America a majority of the American people will support them. ( Beeson)
I also feel like should make it easier so that the people that do come here can help out their families
back home also their country if they want too. Most people that come from over the borders they help
out back home when they get up on their feet in the United States. Just like how we help our families
here when they need things up here. I feel like just whatever we do here other people should be able to
come here and do the same thing. Families who enter our country the right way and play by the rules
watch others flout the rules. ( Obama)
Another reason the U.S immigration should make it easier because, it will not only help them with
jobs it will also help America with people more to work. Most likely people over the borders don t
really have a good job. They people don t even make enough money, they just make enough to get by.
They probably don t even make minimum. I m not

The Experiment On The Space Bar
Methods
Participants
19 undergraduate students from the College of Staten Island participated in this experiment, serving as
part of their course requirement. The experiment consisted of both males and females.
Materials and Designs
Each participant was assigned a computer booth containing a personal computer. Computers were
equipped with the Cog Lab 2.0 database from which the experiment was carried out and with
statistical software which was used to analyze the data acquired. The dependent variable for the
experiment was the speed (response time) with which a response was made. The independent
variables were the number of digits in the memory set (1, 3, or 5) and response type.
Procedure Participants were first provided with instruction outlining the contents and requirements of
the experiment. After selecting the Sternberg s experiment from the database; an instruction screen
appeared and participants were prompted to enter their names, click on do the experiment and press
the space bar to start. Upon pressing the space bar, a fixation point appeared in the middle of the
screen. After one second, the participants were shown a short list of (1, 3, or 5) numbers for 1.2, 3.6,
or 6 seconds respectively and asked to memorize them. The memory set disappeared, then a probe in
the form of a single digit was shown 1 to 3 seconds later. Participants were required to indicate, as
quickly and as accurately as possible, whether this probe number was in the list just presented

  • 2. Interest Rate And Interest Rates 1.1 Background of the Study Interest rate is the amount of interest due per period, as a proportion of the amount lent, deposited or borrowed (called the principal sum). The total interest on an amount lent or borrowed depends on the principal sum, the interest rate, the compounding frequency, and the length of time over which it is lent, deposited or borrowed (Wikipedia). Interest rate as policy instrument can be used to foster meaningful macroeconomic stability, the rate of interest exacts its influence on the macro economy by transmitting through savings, investment, output, employment, money supply and balance of payment. As a return on investment in financial assets, interest rate serves as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The country s agricultural products is divided into two main groups: food crops and cash crops produced for home consumption and exports. The special interest of Government in the Agricultural sector is due to its relevance in the provision of raw materials for industries and most importantly the provision of food for the teaming population of Nigeria. (Akiri and Adofu 2007). Basically, agriculture provides 65% employment opportunities for the population to reduce poverty and contributes to the growth of the economy (Okoro, 2011). The development of agriculture in Nigeria has been slow despite the various agricultural policies. In fact, the government recognized the unhealthy condition(such as lack of access to technology, lack of access to farm inputs, lack of financial empowerment, high risk etc.) of Nigerian agricultural sector since 1970, and has formulated and introduced a number of programmes and strategies aimed at resolving this situation. These measures includes, introduction of scheme such as the River Basin Development Authority (1979), National Accelerated Food Production (NAFP) was introduced in 1972, Operation Feed the Nation (OFN) was inaugurated ... • 3. Dick Hebdige Analysis When words fail, music speaks. This saying is commonly used to support the power that humans give music over words, to the point that they are represented better by song lyrics then their own voice. This leads to the rise of certain styles of music that a group of individuals can relate to and find comfort in. Throughout history it has been evident how certain genres of music have been associated with a type of culture because it represents their struggles and voices their thoughts. However, music does not always speak the correct way for everyone. People also tend to take lyrics and interpret them differently than what the original artist intended them to mean. Misinterpretation can cause a lot of controversy, especially if the meaning of a song opposes a certain culture, or individual. By comparing Dick Hebdige s article The Meaning of Styles and Macklemore s song White Privilege, one can analyze how music can be appropriated by other ethnicities. Hence, one can further understand the controversy that arises ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, throughout the years Hip hop began to be appropriated by Caucasians. This can be seen in White Privilege, where Macklemore speaks up about how Hip hop has begun to lose its earning because Caucasians are favored in the genre that did not even began with them. Furthermore, this song causes a great amount of controversy and backlash to Macklemore, especially from whites who felt offended by his lyrics. Thus, the controversy that arose caused people to overlook the meaning behind White Privilege. They viewed this song as one who focused solely on targeting the lifestyle of white, instead of viewing the original meaning which was to acknowledge and raise awareness to the fact that Hip Hop was an art created by African Americans. Overall, when people forget the meaning behind important cultural aspects, they also neglect parts of that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Danger of Deforestation The Danger of Deforestation(rough draft) By Chenghao Chen ENGL 289 Mrs. Michelle Graf 7/1/2012 It is obvious the importance of the forest vegetation to everyone in the society. However, people in the past ages did a kind of thing that they thought was very meaningful cutting down the trees. When they recall this history, most of them cannot be restrained from their remorse and guilty to it. Trees or forest are things that not only protect the environment but also help people to live better. Destroy of forest and deforestation brings a great many of harm to the environments as well as people in the world. So there were many people took their tools to cut trees in 1990s in China. It was just like a fashion trend. They may use wood to produce furniture, houses, boats and they need more space to do farm work. Therefore, they have to cut trees to make it happen. Study on the main reason for deforestation is vital to the survey on the change of the forest land. The main reasons for deforestation are from two aspects, one is the state owned forest area, and the other is collective forest area (John amp;Richard 1988). In fact, the amount of state owned forest area is much larger than collective forest area. The ecological as well as financial crisis caused by the deforestation has also stayed for quite a long time. The reasons for ecological and financial crisis in state owned forest area can be analyzed from several aspects such as, firstly, the excessive growth of the population in state owned forest area, which makes the overburdened of the enterprises of state owned forest area. There are about 1.3 million work forces in state owned forest area, which may composed of one third the surplus work force this year. Secondly, over use of the forest under the administration of state owned forest enterprises. Thirdly, the administration systems of state owned forest enterprises perform practically no function. There are also two reasons for the deforestation in collective forest area. Firstly, the reform of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Synthetic Vs. Natural Polymers Synthetic vs Natural Polymers in Conditioning Shampoos Introduction and Thesis Cosmetics have been used for thousands of years to enhance the visual appearance of people, either through ritualistic or aesthetic motivations. With the turn of the 20th Century, the growing trend of the film industry caused an uprising in the commercialism of cosmetic products. This coincided with the increasing development in the chemistry industry, to accommodate the multi billion dollar industry which is present today. Previously, cosmetics were extracted out of natural resources such as minerals and natural plants, however it became necessary to synthetically produce some components included in cosmetics to accommodate the major increase in product demand (Polymer Solutions, 2014). Polymers are the second largest class of ingredients in the cosmetic industry (Lochhead, 2016). Polymers are molecules made up of a large number of low molecular mass units, or monomers, that are covalently bonded together (Cosmeticsandtoiletries.com, 2016; Gruber, 2016). The combination of monomers in a chain determines the structure, performance and physical properties of each polymer. The backbone of a polymer includes repeating monomers; if there is only one repeating monomer than it is a homopolymer; if there is more than one repeating monomer then this forms a copolymer, which can either be linear or branched depending on the side groups attached (Cosmeticsandtoiletries.com, 2016; Draelos, 2016). • 6. Climate Change Is The Global Climate System Climate is part of our everyday lives. What we experience is the global climate system. According to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, climate change is, a change of climate which is attributed directly or indirectly to human activity alters the composition of the atmosphere and which is in addition to natural climate variability observed over comparable time periods. (Allen, Seaman Delascio, 2009) Australia s climate has warmed a lot more since 1910 by the average of 0.9 C. it has been rising dramaticllay since 1950 s.the daytime temperatures have increased by 0.8 C whereas in the night time, we experience 1.1 C more heat than the people living in 1900 s. (BOM CSIRO, 2014). In 2004 more than 234 newspaper articles have concluded that we may have, in fact, reached the tipping point for the climate change. Walker (2006) believes that this man made climate change has caused havoc on the earth s atmosphere and the most striking of all the components is the arctic. Farthest north is the carapace of sea ice over the Arctic Ocean. South of that is the vast ice sheet that covers Greenland. And then there is the ocean conveyor belt, which originates in a small region of the Nordic seas and carries heat and salt around the world. All three seem to have inbuilt danger zones that may deserve to be called tipping points. And the outside forces pushing them towards those points are gathering. It has been found that the summer sea ice has shrunk by an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Steven Crane s Role in the Literary Revolution and an... If it takes a revolutionary to topple the general way of thinking, Stephen Crane is that revolutionary for American literature. The dominant literary movement before Crane s time, Romanticism, originated in Germany and England as a response to classicism and soon dispersed worldwide. (McKay 766). Romanticism stressed the power of the human conscience and the intensity of emotion. It was essentially a spiritual movement, fiercely conflicting with the rigid rules and standards of classicism and the restraint of the Enlightenment. The belief that all humans embodied a unique greatness was widespread. Further along in history, however, came a man who sought to destroy this confident idea from his despondent circumstances. Disenchanted by the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Crane s literary skills were also influenced from a very early age; his brother was a newspaper columnist who lived with him at home during his youth (Szumski 14). Similarly, his parents were educated and civic minded, used to making persuasive speeches, admirers and cultivators of the spoken word (Szumski 14). Even while being raised in an environment with such high moral expectations, Crane soon displayed signs of independence. He dropped out of Methodist boarding school to attend a military academy, where he developed an interest for poker and baseball, according to colleague Harvey Wickham (Szumski 14). Following a life path deviating more and more from his family s traditionalist beliefs of faith and purity, it is clear that through these factors Crane would hone his literary skills to combat traditional norms. Crane s decision to write a story in a context (the Civil War) with which he had no experience showed that this stemmed from his desire to dissect the philosophy of individualism in a setting where no societal influences exist. The fact that he also does not mention the meaning of the war and its battles demonstrates his desire to make an Everyman of Henry: he is any young man of any era facing a trial by fire in any battle (Johnson 25). The groundbreaking theories of Charles Darwin, an English naturalist of his time, influenced Crane s attack on individualism. Darwinism s implications questioned orthodox religious ... She gives many reasons as to how they are, but the top ones are physically, hostility, emotionally, with attitude, intellectually, and with childhood conflicts. She was born in 1885 and died in 1952. Suzanne Raitt writes, In 1922, at a panel over which Sigmund Freud presided during a meeting of the Psychoanalytic Congress, a young Berlin trained psychoanalyst delivered a paper that began one of the fiercest and longest debates in psychoanalytic theory. The analyst the first woman ever to deliver a paper on feminine psychology at an international psychoanalytic meeting was Karen Horney, and the paper, On the Genesis of the Castration Complex in Women, was her famous response to the claim of her own psychoanalyst, Karl Abraham, that all women unconsciously envy the penis and want to be men. As she gave her paper, Horney was nervous but respectful. She carefully acknowledged the extraordinary significance of Freud s work before going on to deliver a searing analysis of the masculinist bias of most of his theories on women. This challenge to Freudian psychoanalytic theory set the tone for Horney s subsequent career. Karen Horney s The Distrust Between the Sexes identifies three ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Voter Turnout In Primary Elections In 2016, the primary elections voter turnout was highly disproportionate to the turnout of the general elections that same year. In the state of Utah, 545.36% more eligible voters voted in the general election rather to the primary elections. This is due to a lack of informed voters and the lack of societal pressure around the primary elections versus the general elections. Additionally, the primary elections are more likely to be an information overload to a voter. These elections are chaotic due to there being several candidate choices, as well as there being a difference in objectives from that of the general elections. For instance, in the primary elections the voter is selecting between various party representatives, instead of a straight forward two party election for president. A voter in the United States is more likely to seek a source that simplifies the information being given, or consequently even ignores the primary election altogether. Thus resulting in a lower voter turnout in the primaries. Alan S. Gerber s Why Don t People Vote in U.S. Primary Elections? states Gerber et al. (2011) show that Americans are less likely to punish or reward elected officials for their policy positions when they understand that their own views are not well informed. Since the general ... February 13, Abdeali Dalal Dr. Jenkins History 1301 February 13, 2017 Escaping Salem; The Other Witch Hunt of 1692 Escaping Salem; The Other Witch hunt of 1692 was penned and published by Richard Godbeer in 2005. Godbeer expressed his views on what he called basic witch trials in Salem and more importantly, in Stamford, Connecticut Massachusetts. The same year that Salem witch hunt and trials began in 1692, another witch hunt took place in Stamford, the Western Connecticut to when a woman (Elizabeth Clawson) from there was also accused of Witchcraft. Questions about whether Kate s screaming and mostly pain were due to natural or unnatural causes arose. If she were bewitched, how can people believe her story when the mere fact is that her information came from the devil? These questions still remain as Godbeer reveals through narrative how the judges and the trial were such a legal covert. It was decided that all witches must have posed a tremendous danger to the Salem community and the Stamford, Connecticut that as proving such an invisible matter was almost impossible since they relied on the Devils Magic (Godbeer 89 109) to account for another. The fact that the court used Kate Branch to determine other witches through the same method, the witchcraft; others were convicted from, showed how the courts in Connecticut were controversial and embroil in it on their use of doubtful evidence. Kate s credibility was questioned by many and this showed that it was almost certain the screams from Kate Brunch were mere natural and had nothing to do with the supposedly mentioned witches who were bewitched her. Using the Devil s Magic (Godbeer 109 104) others were convicted for, it can be also concluded that whatever information she had given could not have been trusted by the judges since her information came from the same source other witches are accused and convicted for. She struggles to balance the old good girl while trying to form a new friendships with the burnouts. At first the transfer from being a mathlete and friends with Millie to being friends with kids who are known for skipping class is a little shaky. In a lot of ways I can compare to Lindsay especially getting a new friend group. All my life my neighbor and I have been best friends; around freshman year he started to hang more and more with this new group of kids, our school s infamous burnouts. I found myself at a crossroad. I could either hang out with this new group of kids or the friend group I grew up with since elementary school. I ended up with the burnouts just as Lindsay made the transition from so called nerds to the rebel students. Just like my situation, first the transition was awkward and I struggled to balance both sides but also had to also maintain my grades. Having friends who are constantly wanting to skip and still being able to keep the A in Biology was a hard tribulation. • 12. The Heroes Of The Trojan War There are many hero stories in Greek mythology. Many of these can be interpreted as metaphors when making comparisons to the lives and encounters people today experience. Many Greek myths influenced important pieces of historic literature which have made it easier for people to find their own ways of making these personal connections and better understanding their lives. The Trojan war involved several heroes however Achilles is one that can easily be related to many athletes. Achilles role in the Trojan war has many common themes that can be related to the story of Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel and his journey to the National Football Leauge. Both hero and athlete were considered saviours, they were both very emotional men, and lastly they both enjoyed great success before experiencing failure through their different achilles heels. Johnny Paul Manziel is a quarterback for the American football team the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League. He was drafted 22nd overall in the 2014 draft and was considered one of the most appealing young quarterbacks of his generation. Manziel attended Texas A M University from 2011 until 2013 on a full athletic scholarship. It was in his first season with Texas A M that he made a name for himself after breaking several records. By a research conducted at the Registrar General s Department, it has been seen that far back early as 1800 s, the Registrar General s Department has been a 100% paper based environment. All transaction including registration of deeds, selling or interchanged of property, state land lease documents and site plan were solely on hardcopy. Deeds search was done by manual procedures, which mean an individual has to go through many archived books to search a specific document. They brought the aeroplane equipped with three digital cameras which have photographed the island. To be able to use this aerial photo as a digital cadastre, a control network (Geodetic Datum) had to be implemented to support the DCDB. Therefore the Ministry of Housing and Lands (MHL) identified the need to develop a new geodetic datum to support and maintain the Digital Cadastral Database DCDB. In 2008, Landgate (Australia) had assessed all available geodetic survey data comprising the 1934 triangulation survey, and GPS surveys conducted in 1994 and 2001. After his analysis Langate revealed that these surveys, either in combination or singularly, had not sufficient level of accuracy for the basis of a new geodetic datum. • 14. The Effects Of Ozone Depletion The ozone depletion has been well documented to negatively affect planet Earth for years. The ozone is a thin layer of the Earth´s atmosphere which is responsible for absorbing the sun s harmful ultraviolet light ( What is Ozone Layer?,2017). The loss of ozone on earth will take a toll on human health, plants and marine ecosystems, ultimately resulting in a planet that does not support living things. Today, this manifests in climate change. It is easy for many to confuse these two issues, although they are connected in various ways. Loss of the ozone layer is caused by greenhouse gases such as chlorofluorocarbons or CFCs (compounds with chlorine and/or fluorine attached to carbon), as well as , halons (similar compounds with bromine or iodine) (Jain 2015). These chemicals can stay in the atmosphere for up to 100 years causing damage(What is Ozone Layer?,2017). Greenhouse gases, like carbon dioxide, contribute to global warming, which then contributes to climate change by warming the surface and waters. These factors are resulting in a domino effect on our environment. • 16. Adam Smith Influence on Economic Theory Essay Why is the work of Adam Smith considered so crucial in the development of economic thought? Adam Smith is widely regarded as the father of economics as a social science, and is perhaps best known for his work The Wealth of Nations. Throughout this work Smith states and informs towards his belief that society is not at its most productive when ruled over by rules and limitations with regards to trade, and that in order for markets to maximise prosperity, a free trade environment should be made accessible. In this essay I intend to asses the way in which many of Smiths theories taken directly form his works can be applied to past and current situations, first from an economic then social, and then a political point of view. The invisible hand would have such an effect if every individual acts in order to maximise their own prosperity, the prosperity of the community will, in turn, be maximised and become more efficient. This effect is very well exemplified in modern day terms by using a supermarket queuing system as an example. Each customer getting in line selfishly chooses to maximize his own interest, that is to check out in the shortest time, regardless of the other customers. Their utility maximizing choice is to get in queue in the shortest line; this means that eventually customers queue up in lines all of the same length. Therefore even without the slightest direction and by following only their selfishness, the lines are all of the same length, which is clearly the most efficient disposition. This theory has been crucial in the development of economic thought in that it is a statement which reflected society in Smiths day, and is still so widely applicable in modern day society. From a political point of view, Smith wrote that Government intervention should be kept to a minimum within society. From a mercantilist point of view this was a terrible suggestion, however Smith argued that government intervention in markets will cause a limitation in productivity, and therefore not maximise efficiency. However if left alone as discussed in the previous paragraph, each party will seek to maximise its own prosperity within the given constraints, in turn maximising the ... With that being said, towards the middle of Act III scene V, Lady Capulet tells Juliet of her father s plan for her wed to Paris, The County. With Roman Polanski being forced to fend for himself, he had to abide by Nazi rule, hiding from them the fact that he was a Jew. Fortunately, for Polanski s genetics he looked more like a true German than he did a Jew, which made it easier for him to survive in Krakow. In 1943, Roman Polanski escaped the ghetto, and survived the remainder of the war using the name Romek Wilk with the help of some Polish Roman Catholic Families. However, at the end of the poem Rochester offers a chance for himself to be proven wrong, but only if a just man can be found. • 32. The Effect Of Concentration On The Electrical Energy... Introduction: The Voltaic, or Daniel cell, is an electrochemical cell, invented in 1836 by a British chemist, Frederic Daniel. The cell produces electricity through a redox reaction. The combined electric potentials of two metals in the metal sulphate solution of the electrolyte generate voltage. If the concentration of one of the electrolyte solutions is increased, the number of cations and anions increase (depending on which electrolyte you increase), which increases the overall voltage potential of the cell. Equilibrium conditions are not achieved when a current flow in the circuit. The cell potential will usually be reduced by various mechanisms; this includes the development of over potential. As the electrolyte concentrations change and the cell voltage is reduced, the cell will operate for longer. The concentration of the salt bridge has to be such that it can effectively separate two electrolyte solutions, but porous enough to allow the steady exchange of cations and anions between the two electrolytes. The experiment uses a Voltaic cell to demonstrate the effect of concentration on the electrical energy output. Hypothesis: The hypothesis put forward is that, as the salt bridge and the Magnesium sulphate become more concentrated, the output of energy, measured in volts, will subsequently become greater. This is because the combined electric potential will increase as the concentration increases. There may also be a turning point where the electrical energy output ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A Comparison of Three Newspapers Articles on the Same Topic A Comparison of Three Newspapers Articles on the Same Topic In my essay, I shall compare the way in which three news publications, The Mirror, an example of the popular press, The Times, an example of the quality press and Newsweek, an American publication reported the same incident. Using these three reports, I shall compare the variations and similarities in the amount of factual information given, the interviews used, the language employed and finally, the layout and presentation of the various articles. On the 3rd of February 1998, a U.S. military jet sliced the wire of a cable car in the Italian ski resort in the Dolomites in Cavalese. This resulted in the untimely death of 20 tourists ... Foreign publications, such as Newsweek, generally contain features of both popular press and quality press. The Mirror contained quite a lot of factual information. The article informed the readership that 20 skiers plunged 300ft to their deaths after a low flying American warplane sliced through the wire of their cable car. Similarly, The Times and Newsweek also provided this information. The article in The Times stated Twenty people fell three hundred feet to their death when an American military aircraft sliced the steel wire supporting a cable car carrying skiers. Like the other two articles, the article in Newsweek established that a U.S. fighter jet had clipped two cable cars and sent a gondola full of skiers tumbling to the ground. All three articles also confirmed that there were twenty victims. The Mirror and Newsweek gave more detail about this aspect. The Mirror stated that the victims were nine women, 10 men and one child. Newsweek also stated that the tourists originated from seven European countries. All three ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Critical Review Of Tourism Literature Review Critical Review of manuscript This article brings to our knowledge and explains about the overall impact of tourism by taking the four species of macropodids (Onychogalea faenata, Macropus rufogriseus, Wallabia bicolor and Macropus giganteus) in a sanctuary as their study samples. A few negative impacts were observed on different methods of approach and study and so it is concluded that, tours in vehicles would be better to minimize those impacts rather than on foot. The study of this article proves to be worth reporting as it exposes and creates the awareness in general about the negative impacts on different species due to increasing human population and their approach towards them. The title explains the study of this article and its findings but does not seem to be appropriate. The title would look better if it was made precise and had apt words that best suited the article describing its result. The abstract gives an overall idea and the main aim of this article but has no background information or reasoning. The study sample species names are mentioned but it lacks the methodology of their study. It expresses a solution for the problem of the study but not a specific clear cut quantitative or qualitative result. The content is too concise but still it conveys a message. The introduction had the suitable information to the study and also it did introduce the topic. The aim was explained in well organized manner but the hypothesis of the article was not clear. ... Iris Marion Young s Birdcage Iris Marion Young in her famous birdcage metaphor depicts how a system of laws, institutions, and practices function as a system in order to restrict the social freedom of minorities (Alexander 184). Drawing from examples in certain sociology novels, I will exhibit how the wires of the birdcage work together to subordinate minorities to the bottom of a racial hierarchy. Furthermore, I will demonstrate why individuals like Dr. Gregorry McGriff feel like they need to go through life at 55 MPH. In the 1980s millions of people in inner city communities, predominantly minorities were left unemployed due to deindustrialization and the outsourcing of manufacturing jobs. Women in the inner cities were forced to join the workforce in order to fill the financial void left by the absent men of the communities (Collins and Mayer 27). However, unlike the factory jobs that paid a living wage and provided benefits to its employees, these service sector jobs were under the terms of the solitary wage bargain (Class Lecture 1/19/16). Under these new terms, the women in these jobs were assumed to be ideal workers, meaning that they were given rigid schedules and paid minimum wage with no benefits. Unfortunately, these low income women had children to take care of and families to support on their own, so they often sought out public assistance to make ends meet. However, the welfare to work reform can be considered another wire in the birdcage because it left many poor minorities lacking the assistance they desperately needed. Its goal to reduce caseloads afforded caseworkers the ability to discriminate among needy women based on race (Collins and Mayer 60). Additionally, as Alexander explains, the reformed welfare program barred individuals with drug related felony convictions from receiving federally funded assistance, (157). So, when the African American men were out of prison, they couldn t receive Welfare to help support their children or families. The discussions in Chapters 1 and 2 provide insights into colonial development and the pre independence environment which provide context for answering the research questions and testing the hypotheses. This chapter examines the first question why do some newly sovereign states retain ties with the JCPC? Based on my theory that states chose the final appellant court it expects to be a reliable partner in the new governing coalition. The emerging elite that form the coalition are influence by the colonial experience of colony. For the purposes of this research the U.K. s Westminster Act of 1931 or the official year of independence is considered the critical juncture. The Westminster Act gives the Dominions Australia, Canada, and New Zealand, the option to abolish appeals to the JCPC. The critical juncture for all other states is the year of independence starting with India and Sri Lanka in 1948 to the most recent, Brunei, in 1984. I hypothesize that the longer length of time the state was a colony increases the likelihood that the JCPC will be retained. Second, type of colonial rule direct rule (as opposed to indirect) increases the likelihood that the JCPC will be retained as the final appellant court at independence. The story is based on the final house that is left standing after a nuclear war. It is the only house which managed to withstand this disaster; a large fire. The author uses social commentary to elucidate natures independence. Social commentary is when an individual speaks or writes about an opinion on social issues or society. We re all human beings, we re all mammals, we re all rocks, plants, rivers etc. Borders are just such a pain in the freaking arse. Shane MacGowan. The U.S immigration should make it easier for people across the borders to come here because, so many people can come here and make a better living for themselves. A better living for themselves are basically just living better. Being able to get by not have to go back to what they use to do. Being grateful that because the U.S immigration made it easier for them to come here, they are no longer struggling how they use too. I feel like U.S immigration should make it easier for foreigners to get into the United States because, it can make a better living for people that come from having nothing. Living on Islands other places across the borders can be hard them because they don t have everything we have here in the United States. Some people wake up with nothing could use help with the way they live so that they won t just give up on life. Not everyone lives great so why not try to help them. If congress purses reasonable requirements for those wanting to immigrate to America a majority of the American people will support them. ( Beeson) I also feel like should make it easier so that the people that do come here can help out their families back home also their country if they want too. Most people that come from over the borders they help out back home when they get up on their feet in the United States. Just like how we help our families here when they need things up here. I feel like just whatever we do here other people should be able to come here and do the same thing. Families who enter our country the right way and play by the rules watch others flout the rules.
