2. Hamlet And Ophelia
In the play Hamlet by William Shakespeare, there were many important characters just like Hamlet
who show up in more than three fourths of the play; but there are also characters that don t necessarily
show up as much but still have a strong role. One of the characters that didn t get as much screen time
but was still important was Ophelia. Ophelia was a sister, girlfriend, and daughter that so many people
loved. Therefore, Despite the lack of presence of Ophelia, she ultimately played a big role in the lives
of a lot of the characters. Throughout the play, Hamlet and Ophelia have a very strong love
connection. They loved each other and wanted to eventually get married. Hamlet and Ophelia hit some
bumps in the road in their relationship but they always secretly wanted to be together. In Act 1, Scene
3, It was hard for Ophelia to comprehend when Polonius told her that he thought Hamlet s love for her
wasn t real, but she didn t know what to believe. When Hamlet could no longer see Ophelia he began
to get mad a frustrated, to add on also that he was going crazy over his own father s death. Another
time Ophelia was important in Hamlet s life was after not seeing Ophelia for a while Hamlet stumbles
upon a grave site being dug in the middle of the woods, but at the time he doesn t know who for.
When Hamlet find out that Ophelia is the one that is being put to rest he starts to go crazy again. He
says I loved Ophelia. Forty thousand brothers, if you added all their love together, couldn t match
mine. What are you going to do for her? ( V, I, pg.12. lines 247 249). Hamlet is basically trying to say
that even if they don t believe him he really did love Ophelia. Gertrude responded by saying, This is
pure insanity. He ll be like this for a little while (V, I, pg. 12 lines 247 249). When Gertrude says this
she basically means that he has gone crazy before that this is normal he will calm down soon. Therefor
Ophelia played a huge role in Hamlet s life without necessarily being there all of the time. Ophelia and
Laertes also had a very important relationship as brother and sister. Although they didn t get to see
each other all of the time they both played a big role in each other s lives. In Act

Abstract
Now a days protection of Intellectual Property Rights has become a very essential aspect for every
country because so many Intellectual Properties are of national interest. Copyright, patents,
trademarks, designs and even natural resources contains national importance. TRIPS enforces a
powerful mechanism for protection of Intellectual Property Rights. This paper seeks to provide an

Different Types of Intellectual Property Rights
Patents are legal titles granting the owner the exclusive right to make commercial use of an invention.
To qualify for patent protection, inventions must be new, non obvious, and commercially applicable.
The term of protection is usually limited to 20 years, after which the invention moves into public
domain. The patent system is one of the oldest and most traditional forms of IPRs protection. Almost
all manufacturing industries make use of the patent system to protect inventions from being copied by
competing firms. Since the early 1980s, patents have also been granted for agricultural biotechnology
products and processes and for certain aspects of computer software.
As an adjunct to the patent system, some countries have introduced utility models (or petty patents).
The novelty criteria for utility models are less stringent and are typically granted for small,
4. incremental innovations. Their term of protection is far shorter than for regular invention patents
(typically four to seven years). Similarly, industrial designs protect the ornamental features of
consumer goods such as shoes or cars. To be eligible for protection, designs must be original or new.
They are generally conferred for a period of five to fifteen years.
Trademarks are words, signs, or symbols that identify a certain product or company. They seek to
offer consumers the assurance of purchasing what they intend to

5. Fmla Effectiveness
Although FMLA is an advancement, the act has numerous gaps. Research shows that because the
purpose of FMLA is to broadly aid all companies equally, the government is not able to have full
control of FMLA and only establishes rules that dictates who eligible employees are (citation).
Therefore, not all workers are able to qualify for this program; one has to be employed for at least 12
months in the same company and work a minimum of 1,250 hours prior to approval (The United
States Department of Labor, 2017).
Specifically, researchers analyzed all the states on how well the government protects company
employees and awards each state with a letter grade that best reflects government efforts in that state.
Consequently, because of the lack ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Businesses try to maximize the employee s time in the company and often only allow the mother to go
on maternity leave until they are not able to work at all due to their pregnancy. For example, in
Alabama, an employee must work until she is disabled as a result of pregnancy and even then, the
organization may require a doctor s verification of disability making it very difficult for mothers to
have time off while pregnant (Employment Law Headquarters, 2012). In way to improve this, the
government implemented tax benefits to individuals that donated some of their sick days (up to 80
hours a year) to other mothers, regardless if they do not live in the same state, to increase their
maternity leave days (HR Daily Advisor, 2016). Precisely, even though the donor can collectively give
80 hours, each recipient can only collect eight hours each. The recipient must be employed for at least
a year and exhaust all their vacation and sick days, as well as provide a certification from their
physician before using donated hours (Georgia Institute of Technology, 2015). Even then, if there a

Journey to Success
The American Dream is the dream that regardless of where you are born or what social class you are
born into, anyone can attain their own version of success. In The Great Gatsby and The Pursuit of
Happyness , both protagonists pursue the path to achieving their American Dream. For both Jay
Gatsby and Christopher Gardner they are both given unfortunate privileges to where they start their
journey. Both men are lower class citizens who make less than minimum wage salaries but that do not
stop them from wanting to succeed. Chris story begins in a small apartment in San Francisco. Chris
Gardner is a black man with a minimum wage job, who lives with his wife Linda and his 5 year old
son Christopher. One day, his wife leaves him because of his lack of income and motivation to provide
for the family. That day, Chris devotes his life and his son s life to a successful future. Chris and his
son are pushed to their limits in the hope that Chris will achieve his American Dream of being a
stockbroker. Jay Gatsby is quite similar to Chris Gardner in his story. He was born James Gatz in
Louisville, Kentucky, to a couple who owned a poor farm. James was constantly working on his
family s farm and even worked other jobs as a child just to have a decent source of income. He was a
lonely little boy who lacked motivation to do something with his life. It was only until he met Dan

9. Describe Features Of Inclusive Teaching And Learning...
(1.1) Describe features of inclusive teaching and learning? An inclusive environment is an
environment where everyone has an opportunity to fully participate. In education, this means everyone
has the same opportunity, there should be no boundaries such as ethnicity, gender or disability. All
students should feel valued, be able to mix and participate with all members of the group be in a safe
and positive environment. Gravells (2014) states: You are not teaching your subject to a group of
learners who are all the same, but to a group of individuals with different experiences, abilities and
needs, which should be recognised and respected . I like to make all of my students feel important,
speaking to them directly, using eye contact, using their name, asking them direct questions. Initially I
carry out an assessment to test their prior knowledge, their preferred learning styles and to assess if
any additional support is required. I can then adjust the teaching level and pitch it correctly to each
individual. (1.2) Compare the strengths and limitations of teaching and learning approaches used in
own area of specialism in relation to meeting individual learner needs? According to Fleming (2001):
People can be grouped by different learning styles, visual, aural, read/write and kinaesthetic.
Understanding these learning techniques in my particular working environment is really important
because our creative education system has high demands in regard to them. I use visual

Plastic surgery is a massive thing. Not only does it change the way God made you, but there are also
things that could go wrong in the midst of everything, just like the lesions and surgery in Uglies.
Although acceptance is a hard things to have throughout life, we need to be comfortable in our own
skin and not worry as much about what others think but, rather what we think.
8.The story of Uglies and Harrison Bergeron both focus on broken societies. Like Uglies, Harrison
Bergeron tries to make the society equal but in doing this breaks it even more. the transmitter would
send out some sharp noise to keep people like George from taking unfair advantage of their brains. p1.
In the steps of making everyone equal, the government simple takes away the abilities that people had
before that others would never have and punishing them for trying to use them. We see the same ideas
in uglies. The society is willing to change their entire body in order to be pretty and more accepted.
People are willing to go through with things like this because, we only see the good sides of it, but
never the bad. All Tally ever wanted to do was to get the surgery. She saw the parties, the happiness

Next, consider a manufacturer that keeps safety stock for a product it makes. In many commodity
products, profit margins are low. Suppose profit margin is 10%. The chart above shows the impact of a
10 day supply disruption on profits. Since safety stock can cover for some of the supply disruption, the
higher the safety stock the lower the profit loss. For instance, if safety stock is 8 days, only 2 days of
revenue is lost and hence the profit loss is for 2 days of sales only. The corresponding profit loss varies
from 2% to 4% depending on how high the fixed costs are. Figure 2 (above) shows that a

13. Persuasive Essay On Owning A Car
WELL BEING Leasing a car is one way to finance a new automobile. When you lease a car, your
payments are determined by the portion of the life of the car that you actually use: the depreciation of
the car over the period of time that you are leasing. Therefore, with a lease, you can drive a more
expensive car with lower payments, sometimes. However, a key point to remember is that you do not
own the car when you lease. Leasing is like renting. You rent the car for a certain period of time, but
you are also responsible for a down payment and some taxes and fees very similar to a security
deposit on an apartment. At the end of the lease contract (or rental agreement), you give the vehicle
back and you may be charged for any excessive wear on the vehicle. Your initial money down will not
be applied to these charges. These will be additional charges due at the time you return the car.
Furthermore, you are limited to driving the number of miles specified in your contract.
If you exceed the total mileage allowed in the lease, you will pay additional fees per mile that you
went beyond the limit. This can become expensive! Some lease contracts may also include a turn in
fee. A closedend lease will allow you the option of purchasing the car at the end of the lease. If you
choose to purchase the car, you will have a credit applied to the payments you have made previously,
but you will still have to negotiate the purchase price. If you do not have a closed end lease, you will

14. Thevenin s Theorem Essay
The experiment that follows is carried out to determine the Thevenin s theorem experimentally.
Thevenin s theorem is an equivalence principle in circuit theory. This theorem is widely used for
circuit analysis simplification and to study circuit s initial condition and steady state response. In the
experiment, the load resistance was removed. The Vth and Rth were found and the resultant current
measured. After the experiment was carried out, it was verified that using the Thevenin s theorem
procedure, the current in a particular load in this case has the same current flowing through it if it is
solved using any other equivalence principle and maximum power will be transferred through load
when Rth is Equivalent to RL.
Introduction
The present lab report is designed to describe the Thevenin Equivalents and Max Power Transfer.
Moreover, the simplification and verification of the circuit network is necessary to identify to
Thevenin equivalent. In addition, the maximum level of power transfer was also identified. Thevenin
theorem is applied on the DC resistive circuits. The theorem holds that the linear electronic network
with the help of the voltage as well as the current sources is important and the level of resistance can
be replaced with the equivalent voltage source. To fulfill such objectives, the lab experiment was
designed [1].
In circuit analysis, Thevenin s theorem for linear electrical networks states that any combination of

almost 15,000 women are killed by their husbands, and over 50,000 are hospitalized from abuse; 85%
of these victims are female. In countries such as America, these numbers are far lower, and there are
many ways to get help. Many people don t realize that in places such as Russia, if you are a victim of
domestic violence, there is very little you can do to help yourself. In fact, up until recently, there were
no laws prohibiting abuse. Marina Pisklakova is the reason why laws against domestic violence exist.
She has helped thousands women break free of abusive relationships, and has saved countless other
women s lives. Marina is one of the world s most prominent feminists. she encouraged many women

Photography and film are becoming more popular every day with people trying to one up each other
and also trying to figure out new and inventive ways to use the camera. In Paul Strand s essay
Photography the New God, he wanted to make his point that photography was assessable to anyone
and everyone and that man does all the work not the machine. In Extracts from the Work of Art in the
Age of Mechanical Reproduction, Walter Benjamin explains that works of art have always been easily
reproduced for profit and how film will be the most powerful instrument when it comes to new forms
of art.

Sometimes now it is a rarity to even find an original art piece because of the massive need for

gives the aura of growth, moving forward, and by using the New God it shows that we are advancing

Troy lies in ruins after Greek armies win the Trojan War and ransack the city. The Trojan Women is
not to a great extent a tragic account; however a depiction of a tragic situation of the horrors of war
and its aftermath, whereby Euripides dramatizes the hardships of war and to some extent is an ironical
illustration of hope. Euripides often uses unconventional views of Greek society, particularly the life
of women and slaves; in the The Trojan Women we establish that the slave women encompass a
nobility state of mind that stands in unusual contrast to the inhumanity of the victorious Greek
warriors. The terrors of war have hardly changed within thousands of years. We can say the same

A tale of Two Ghosts: The Yellow Wallpaper and the Things they Carried
When people think of normal ghost stories they think of stories told around the campfire. Like a ghost
of a one handed axe murder that kills kids that venture out into the woods, or the ghost of a kid who
drowned in the lake and seeks vengeance on every camper that comes there. Many people don t

woman that is stooping down and creeping behind that pattern (Gilman 72). As the story progresses

Aberdeen gets very rainy and cold at night, so not having a place to stay is awful. The rain from that

also means it harder to afford find food. Hearing these stories from people I talked to every week

resources for the Coastal Harvest. That is a food storage facility that donates to food banks across the

Hoquiam and Aberdeen. Even though the name was foodball, it wasn t just food we were collecting. It
was also money to donate to and help raise resources for food banks, like socks, shoes, and shirts. I
cleaned up after the events, dressed up as a mascot and danced to raise money for several events. I was
even able to run an intercity dodgeball game. A game which Aberdeen won. Although Aberdeen didn t
beat Hoquiam in the end, we managed to beat the amount of food raised last year. After foodball
ended, I decided I wanted to do more. I became a deacon at my church and several times a month I

They have the responsibility to teach effective ethical education. Professors teach students about
morality by the ways in which they grade tests, structure assignments, and respond to student
complaints. Professors use their own behavior to affect students ethics. By through the fairness of the
exams and grades. Education is different from the past to the future. It need to be changed no the
teaching ways but it still need to keep the moral education. However, sometimes the ethics teaching
need technology to achieve. Far from making us stupid, these technologies are the only things that will
keep us smart. (Pinker,221) The modern society s future in connected with the technology.Using the
Internet in the correct ways make life effective and is convenient for students to form the new moral
thinking. When professors have classes in the universities, using technology product like PPT or video
is more effective and direct to show the moral things. Professors also can use some programs to mark
the exams in addition it can reduce the error rate. When professors talk about cheating or stolen,
students can know the bad affects of losing the ethical education. In addition, universities should
provide ethical education through professors behavior. Students can learn morality from professors to
form their own self control and use it to distinguish correct values when dealing with mess

23. Slavery In New Jersey City Essay
No matter what difficulties lay ahead, there was only one goal, to be free. It was the road to freedom;
it was a challenge that needed to be completed. According to The Underground Railroad in Jersey City
written by Carmela Karnoutsos Jersey City was the last station on the Underground Railroad route
through New Jersey. Tens of thousands of fugitive slaves arrived here from several states, such as
Maryland, Virginia, and North and South Carolina. From these states, they traveled to the Delaware
River where they crossed over to New Jersey to continue on to Jersey City. The crossing of the slaves
was in the same area of Jersey City as the Dutch settlement of New Netherlands at Harsimus, where
slavery was introduced in the 1640s. The effects that Jersey City s underground railroad had on former
slaves who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For Jersey City to undergo this event is majorly significant because it is such a small city with such
great history. Slaves/former slaves were traveling the Underground Railroad, the secretive path of safe
houses that led thousands of slaves to freedom in the North before the Emancipation Proclamation of
1863. The Emancipation Proclamation of 1863 implies that freeing the slaves in certain territories
were still against the Union. However, the Emancipation Proclamation of 1863 did not free all slaves
due to the fact that the proclamation did not cover the states that were slave colonized states. New
Jersey alone had as many as four routes, with all of them coming into Jersey City. Those routes
extended from the Mason and Dixon Line and the Valley of the Ohio on the South, to the Canadian
border on the North. Jersey City played a crucial role in that era being that numerous individuals
passed through the city. As the last stop in New Jersey, even before criminal slaves reached New York;
approximately 60,000 escaped slaves traveled through Jersey

24. Power Of Words In Julius Caesar Research Paper
Words holding more power than weapons There s seems to be a lot of examples of words having more
power over weapons in The tragedy of Julius Caesar by william shakespeare. The subject can be
agreeable. There s a lot if ways that words can make you feel when comparing two things together
either one can win you over and make you want to know more and be on the other side. One way
words have more power is when Brutus was talking to cassius. Cassius was trying to persuade Brutus
to go against Caesar thou brutus did not give in right away Cassius did make Brutus think about how
rome would be better off without caesar ruling. Brutus seems like a good friend of caesar and he is but
he also fears that caesar will get too much power over his head and end up crashing with it and
making rome fall down with him. But then again if you were a true friend towards someone you
shouldn t just switch up on them. It really doesn t matter what others say you should be able to stay
strong and stick with the person you were always loyal too. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

I thrice presented him a kingly crown,Which he did thrice refuse. Was this ambition?Yet Brutus says

speaks about how brutus kept saying that Caesar was going over his head and his ambition was taking
over. The crowd was starting to get startled up because they felt caesar was actually a cruel person but
Anothy switches that around and makes them think again. But then Anthony brung out a will from

25. The Youth Justice And Other Legislation Act 2014
In 2014, the Government initiated the Youth Justice and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2014. This
act introduced new changes that were made to provide fair outcomes and reasonable punishments.
This assignment will focus on four of the changes made to the act and evaluate how the introduction
of the Youth Justice and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2014 has impacted on consequences for
youth in the youth justice system. Recommendations for changes the government could make will also
be stated.
Part 4 Division 2 of the Children s Court Act 2000 states that the Childrens Court will now be an open

(Queensland Law Society 2014). This quote shows that, even after going to court once, children will
repeat offences and opening the Childrens Court will not help the rehabilitation of these repeat
offenders. However, the public is let in to see the cases and will learn about the court processes,
providing a better understanding, and if the case is of a sexual nature, the victim will feel much more
comfortable with the court being closed, and will be able to easily tell the complete truth.
The Youth Justice and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2014 gives the media the authorisation to
publish identifying information of a repeat offender at any stage during a court proceeding.
(Department of Justice and Attorney General, 2014). A first time offender is anyone who has not been
found guilty, at any time throughout a proceeding. First time offenders being named publicly remains
prohibited by section 301. (Department of Justice and Attorney General, 2014). However, Ian Brown,
President of The Queensland Law Society, states that he strongly believes that publicly naming a child
coming before the courts should be prohibited. He believes letting the media broadcast classified
information of repeat offenders could become a major difficulty in terms of getting the repeat offender
back on the right track. (Department of Justice and Attorney General, 2014). The publishing of a
repeat offender s name during a proceeding could

26. The Symbolism Of Pappachi s Moth
In God of small things, Pappachi s moth is used as a symbolic meaning, however in the book Pappachi
s moth takes on several different meanings. At the core, the moth it self refers to the insect Pappachi
discovers one day and believes to be an undiscovered species of moth. This is the big moment of his
life and can t wait too see the joy it brings to others, and, as we find out, his life s greatest setback was
not having had the moth that he had discovered named after him . This greatest down fall in Pappachi
s life is symbolised through the moth and the pain and suffereing it brings to him. Later in Pappachi s
life, some butterfly experts find out that the moth he had discovered is actually a separate species of
moth, but they don t name

27. Anterior Cruciate Ligar
The Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) is one of the most common knee injuries in female sports
today. The ACL is a ligament that attaches the femur and tibia to the knee allowing the knee to bend
while still being stable and supporting the whole body. Dr. Russel F. Warren, a physician for the New
York Giants football team, explains, The ACL prevents the shin bone (tibia) from moving too far
forward on the thigh bone (femur) and keeps the knee from twisting inward excessively. When
athletes tear their ACL there is a greater chance that they have hurt or another ligament in their knee
such as the LCL, MCL or Meniscus; which is cartilage that absorbs shock from the body s pressure
(MedlinePlus). The ACL is strong, but one wrong move could result

Disease is the biggest money maker in our economy, by John H. Tobe. This quote emphasis on the
impact diseases have on the economy. In well developed countries, people have different sources of
money which they use for different needs. However, in Africa people face different problems because
of poverty. Diseases, is among the biggest issues in Africa. Since people can not get proper treatment
to the disease, many people die while other people get affected. Accordind to ..... Liberia has less than

29. The American Dream in What’s So Great About America and...
The American Dream is so many different things to so many different people. While other countries
around the World would like to argue that Americans only aspiration is to become infinitely wealthy,
Dinesh D Souza claims that it is not wealth that Americans want. He believes that it is simply a better
life. Michael Moore too acknowledges Americans ambition, especially his own, to create a better life
for themselves. These two views of the American Dream come from very opposite Americans, but it is
their differences that make their ideals so beautifully unique.
To begin the comparison between these two authors, I will first examine Moore s ideology. As it is
obviously stated in the title of his book, Moore is not exactly subtle person. ... Show more content on

D Souza, on the other hand, is an avid supporter of his image of the American Dream and its presence
in America. Dinesh explains the popularity of the American Dream worldwide is because people wish
for, the American way of life. (D Souza, 73) As if it was coming from a foreigner, he continues to
exemplify the American Dream as an outsider looking in and seeing all of the splendor and appeal of
Americans lives. It is this enchantment that causes people from all ends of the Earth to migrate to the
United States and even leave their families and traditions. The most emphasized element and
essentially the core of the American Dream is the ability to, write the script of your own life. (D
Souza, 83) The writer gives his own real life example of the American Dream, through his emergence
as a writer and later a White House Staff member simply because he pursued his own dream. Through
the constant comparisons with the inequalities present in countries throughout the World, D Souza is
fascinated with the diversity of America and the, tolerant society , that this diversity has spawned. (D
Souza, 94)
Immediately it is obvious that these two interpretations of the current status of the American Dream
are nearly political polar opposites. Michael Moore mercilessly attacks the government s refusal to
help the average working man. Moore faults corporations

31. Lincoln And The Suspension Of Habeas Corpus
Raymond Mora
Political Science 433
Professor Soper
10 October 2017
Lincoln and the Suspension of the Writ of Habeas Corpus Throughout American history, the writ of
habeas Corpus has been the basis of the legal system of the United States, meant to preserve civil
freedoms. Habeas corpus established a constitutional check on any dictatorial power that tried to
present itself. It allowed any individual that was arrested to stand in front of the court to challenge
whether they were being imprisoned according to the law of the land, ensuring their civil liberties
weren t threatened; however, only in times when the stability of a country was threatened could it be
temporarily suspended. President Lincoln came into office in 1861 and by the ... Show more content

The power was explicitly given to the Legislative branch of the government since it was mentioned in
Article I; however, the argument can be made that this was an exigency that was granted for a
particular emergency, in this case an insurrection. Even knowing that he had a basis to take action on
his own, he waited for Congress to make the final decision and grant him the privilege to not overstep
any boundary. When Congress made a decision it was imposed upon the President for the very reason
that the courts and the marshals are too weak to perform it (the suspension of the Writ of Habeas
Corpus) (Bates 295). President Lincoln was just upholding and living up to the oath that he will
faithfully execute the office of President of the United States and will...preserve, protect, and defend
the Constitution of the United States. When all else fails the President is the Guardian of the
Constitution and must not be denied due to believing that a power can be easily abused, when every
law is subject to good and bad, it s the chances that must be taken (Bates 295). The circumstances all
pointed to the the executive branch, the president, to step in and enact the suspension of the Writ of
Habeas Corpus indicating that the power, although given only to the legislative, it seems that the
framers knew that when the time came congress would not be able to perform such actions. The only
grounds that indicated that the president wasn t automatically given the power was

32. Music Is The Most Popular Genres Of Music Essay
Music has been found in every culture in present time, as well as in the past, dating back almost
55,000 years (citation), with roots in Africa. Music is one of the most basic art forms and is a way of
life for many; a means of expression relative to emotions, culture, and one s self. Music is all around
us and it s hard to imagine going one day without listening to some variety of music. Music has
evolved tremendously from prehistoric times today, but one thing s stayed the same one culture s
music is influenced by the culture as a whole. The period in history directly influences the style and
genre of music. For example, in the mid 1930 s, during the Great Depression, Swing music became
one of the most popular genres of music, because it created an upbeat vibe, which created pleasure and
happiness that hadn t been felt due to the Great Depression. Through music, the American population
was able to experience a sense of joy that was otherwise absent during that period in history. The brain
is an astonishing organ of the human body, comprising the majority of the central nervous system. The
brain has great control over functions of the body, as a whole. The brain allows for thoughts and
actions to be executed on a daily basis. Fundamental functions of the brain include instincts, emotions,
behavior, and concepts (Perlovsky, 2012). Further, the brain constantly develops and transforms,
according to one s environment (nurture vs. nature), behavior, and brain injury.
