Social Responsibility
It is our responsibility as educators to teach our students how to be socially responsible adults. The
ability of the adolescent to identify and define social responsibility is important in defining who they
are, where they fit in the social world, and building confidence in their sense of agency. (Polk, nd) I
want my students to be confident in who they are as individuals, my goal will be to nurture and push
them to be all they want to be. One of the ways I can help students with social responsibility is to put
them in social situations. Field trips to places that would force them to be social will teach them in a

Reflection:
Some of the key aspects of philosophy included metaphysics, logic, and epistemology. Metaphysics is
the study of existence. It answers the question What is? It includes everything that exists, as well as
the nature of existence itself. Metaphysics is the foundation of philosophy. Without an explanation or
an interpretation of the world around us, we would not be able to deal with reality. Logic is the study
of reason or the study of arguments. Logic constructs ideas so that we are able to communicate certain
concepts to each other by deducing them from a set of premises. (Braley, 2003, p. 10) Epistemology is
the study of how we acquire knowledge. It answers the question How do we know? Epistemology is
the explanation of how we think. It is required in order for us to be able to determine the difference
between true and false. Epistemology is important aspect used to obtain knowledge of the world
around us. Without epistemology, we could not think, and we would have no reason to believe our
thinking was productive or correct.

I loved riding on the Knight bus it was amazing and wonderful. It was great to see how the Muggles
don t see this great big bus just zooming through cars and towns. I also find it great that witches and
wizards can use the Knigh bus to go to Hogwarts after the holidays instead of using Floo powder and
Apparation. i also find it interesting how the bus has charms on the inside and on the outside and how
at night instead of chairs there are beds. I love how it goes extremely fast and how it just zooms on the
streets and towns. I didn t like being knocked out of my chair several times (laughs) but it was lots of
fun and I will definitely ride the Knight Bus again and again. I also liked how there are 3 levels on the

Language, Usage, and Style in And Did Those Feet in Ancient Time In And Did Those Feet in Ancient
Time, William Blake expertly combines language, usage, and style to create this short poem that
would later become the preface to his epic Milton: a Poem. Blake puts emphasis on the narrator s
diction, syntax, and tone to delineate the narrator s thoughts and feelings that complement his purpose
in this poem. The diction in this poem is largely neutral, if not informal. Blake uses common
vocabulary; however, he refrains from slang and colloquial diction. The narrator s language is strong,
yet it is also lyrical as it was fit to be adapted into an anthem called Jerusalem by Sir Hubert Parry in
1916 (Dibble). The poem is written in first person, and there is no alternate dialogue. The narrator s
diction is in a language that can be understood by the common Englishman. This is pertinent as the
major themes of the poem are of biblical allusions, and the Bible has been translated for the common
man. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

6. Tuberculosis As A Communicable Disease
Tuberculosis, also identified as TB, has been around for countless years. In the past, however, the
disease was not known, which made it untreatable in most healthcare settings. The evolution of time
made it possible to easily detect and manage tuberculosis before people were adversely affected by it.
It is a disease that often affects an individual s lungs, but it can also affect other body parts. The spine,
kidneys, bones, and even the lymph nodes may sometimes be affected by the disease. The spread is
usually from one person with the disease to an uninfected person through the air. Whenever
individuals with the TB disease cough, laugh, or even talk, the disease is spread through tiny droplets

A high number of people in the United States are infected, which indicates that they have the potential
to contract the disease in the future. For people with the disease, it is often as a result of the infection
becoming active. In this case, the person may have symptoms that are either pulmonary (in the lungs),
or extrapulmonary (outside the lungs) (Lozano, 2012). There are signs and symptoms to look out for
when it comes to the TB disease. Some of the general signs include; fatigue, loss of appetite, weight
loss, chills, and fever. When the disease affects an individual s pulmonary system, some of the
symptoms that may result include; chronic chest pain and an incessant cough that often produces
sputum accompanied with blood. In other rare cases, the spread of the disease may affect the
pulmonary artery, which often leads to massive bleeding in the individual. For the persons often
affected by extrapulmonary TB, the disease often takes advantage of a weak immune system. This is
usually for people with other problems, for example; people infected with HIV and intravenous drug
users. Extrapulmonary TB affects other parts such as the lymph nodes, joints and bones, and the
central nervous system (Jacob, Mehta Leonard, 2009). Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the germ
responsible for the spread of TB, is a highly aerobic pathogen, which takes up to 20 hours to divide.

7. Ryanair
Ryanair The low fares airline: Whither now?
Main Problems
Ryanair s growth rate is affected by macroeconomic factors such as the recession, as seen in 2010
when Ryanair saw a 200% increase in profit and traffic growth, as the low fares became attractive for
those suffering from the current climate. Uncertainty still remains regarding the economic climate;
problems would arise if it continued, as passengers would reduce spending restricting the company s
passenger volume growth. If the economic climate was to grow, business and leisure passengers may
choose to pay more and travel with a full service airline, this could consequently result in demand for
low cost flights to drop.
One of the greatest concerns is fuel prices the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If it were to be successful Ryanair would have to change their strategy, as it would not be able to keep
low costs, as passenger on long haul flights would want the additional add ons at no extra price. This
would result in increased price and pose a challenge for Ryanair to maintain cost leadership.
Possible Solutions
Ryanair should expand in the EU, by increasing flight frequency and flights expansion especially in
Eastern Europe. One way they can do this is to purchase WizzAir, an airline that already has major
bases and routes in Eastern Europe. This would gain an advantage over competitors such as easy jet
who currently have no bases there, thereby maintaining cost leadership.
Strategic alliances should be put in place so Ryanair can achieve an extensive geographic network,
with bases placed strategically around Europe airports. By consolidating with Norwegian airlines and
creating a strategic partnership, with a percentage in each other s shares would allow for greater scope
and assurance from the unpredictable economic conditions.
Swift market responses need to be made by Ryanair, such as capitalising on the failure of other
European airline by opening new routes on their existing failed ones, this will achieve greater
economics of scale and thus costs fall. Ryanair should continue to look at the many airlines that have a
limited geographic area

Israelites needed a kingdom and a place to rest the Ark of the Covenant, so they established Jerusalem

with many evil deeds, like murder, adultery, and rape, but the worst sin seems to be lack of faith in
Yahweh. In fact, Jesus came and lived as the anointed one living a sinless life, and sacrificing himself

comparable companies were chosen using the following measurements: similar product lines,
revenues, and bond ratings. Alltel Corporation, Sprint Corporation, and Bellsouth Corporation were
determined to be comparable companies for Teletech s Telecommunications Segment. Avaya Inc.,
Lucent Technologies, and Commscope Inc. were comparable comps for the Product and Systems
Segment. (see Exhibit 1). The three comps for each segment were than averaged to create an

One way that daughters are victimized by slave trade is their family members put their daughters up
for human trafficking in which most of them will be sold to pimps. According to Aaron Fichtelberg,
Sometimes these women are initially sold by their family, who often don t consider a daughter to be an
asset, in order to provide income to help the rest of the family survive (Fichtelberg, 2008, pg.239).
This can make the daughters feel a sense of hopelessness in the process of being sold. Another way
that women and children are victimized throughout the process of human trafficking for the sex
industry are marriage services. Marriage services allows for women from other countries to be
introduced to western men who are interested in marrying them. Usually these marriage services leads
to the women being deprived of her freedom and put to work in strip clubs or brothels. These women

children who are trafficked to the sex industry are also considered criminals. They are considered
criminals due to prostitution. It is hard for people to identify who is the victim in a case like this.
When women and children are caught within the sex industry they are usually sent home to their home

For this research article the author has chosen to use a grounded theory approach. Grounded theory is
a qualitative method of research which allows the researchers to construct meaning of the selected
topic via a process of development and reflection of the data collected (Charmaz, 2014). Grounded
theory provides a flexible and intuitive process to data collection and analysis allowing the
construction of a theory that is truly grounded from the data (Charmaz, 2014).
Grounded theory was developed in the 1960s by two sociologists with the idea that meaning is
developed through interaction with experience (Polit Beck, 2017; Starks Brown Trinidad, 2007). It is
often used to explain and explore social process and the lived experience and perceptions of others,
providing enlightenment to researchers, practitioners or clinicians on the chosen topic. For the purpose
of exploring the consumers experiences of comorbid schizophrenia and substance abuse grounded

20. Precision And Accuracy Lab Report
Determining the Density of a Polystyrene Sphere with Precision and Accuracy
Abstract: The objective of the lab is to determine the volumes of the polystyrene spheres with three
different measuring tools: Water Displacement, Analytical Scale, and Triple Beam Balance Scale. The
experiment is meant to help understand the concept and application of precision and accuracy in
experimental measurements. Accuracy is a measure of how closely the results of repeated
measurements are to the true value of what is being measured. Precision is the variability in the results
from the repeated measurements, and how close the repeated measurements were to one another. In
this lab, the method for measuring the volume of the polystyrene spheres is done with the previously
stated tools: Water Displacement, Analytical Scale, and Triple Beam Balance Scale. The standard
deviation for the entire classes volumes and masses are recorded to determine the densities.
Introduction: Accuracy and precision were the major aspects of the lab. Accuracy is how close the
average of the measured values are to the actual value. Precision is the closeness of repeated
measurements. In the lab, the aim was to get as close as possible with both accuracy and precision
when determining the mass and volume of the spheres. The mass was determined by weighing the
spheres on the Analytical Scale and Triple Beam Balance Scale. The volume is determined by
measuring with a ruler and by water displacement. The standard

How successfully did the National Government deal with the economic problems of the 1930s? In
dealing with the economic depression of the 1930s, it is my opinion that the recovery of Britain was
mainly due to the stages of rearmament in the run up to the Second World War. This is not to say,
however, that the National Government failed to combat the rises in unemployment, reaching a peak
of three million, and the ruined staple industries, they implemented several policies to reboot the

In the most direct (and somewhat vague) policy The Special Areas Act of 1934, money was to be
applied to the worst affected areas, but this was dependent on their income and the result was many of

policies seem to suggest that the National Government was somewhat lost on the right course of
action to take, and even then their commitment to not worsen the deficit limited them to gimmicks or
simple lack of effectiveness. They were hardly helped with the condition that Britain now found itself
in. Unemployment figures reached new peaks with the largest being in Wales where 33% of men now
found themselves without work. The traditional industries, of coal, cotton, iron, steel and shipbuilding,
known collectively as the staple industries were the hardest hit; The coal pits of north Wales were
finding themselves without contracts, and the shipyards in Jarrow, near Newcastle were so bad that the
men announced a march to London, taking several weeks. It accomplished very little but to show just
how bad the north of England had been hit. The south meanwhile suffered heavily from cyclical
unemployment, wherein the employee would latch onto short term work, finish the contract and

23. The Pros And Cons Of Genetically Modified Organisms
A Genetically Modified Organism (GMO) is an organism that is purposely moved to improve or
change another organism in a controlled setting (www.bt.ucsd.edu). A GMO changes the genetic
material of an organism s genome. The genome contains all of the information required to create that
particular organism. A gene is made up of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) which is found in nearly all
cells. DNA is a long, thread like molecule that contains the blueprint for an organism.Genes are coded
instructions that determine what an organism looks like and even how it will function.GMOs are the

They are found in chocolate, cheese, chips, bread and salad dressing to name but a few. These seem to
be as many advantages as there are disadvantages according to scientists, researcher and farmers (
Bionet , n.d.). For example, the sweet corn crop has been modified to repel insects. This is a huge win
for growers. They do not have to invest the money for pesticides, and they can make the claim that
they are producing pesticide free food. Another example is the first crop that was genetically modified
and consumed by the masses in 1994 the tomato. The genetically modified tomatoes last longer,
maintain better color, stayed on the vine longer and also produced fewer chemicals slowing down the
decomposition. Other dangers that GMO foods present is the effect on the environment. GM food,
especially BT and HT crops are filled with chemicals and toxins that are intended for destroying
unwanted weeds and insect. However, when such plants pollinate, they send spores through the air
that also carry the DNA structure designed to kill weeds and insects. The targets of these BT and HT

24. How Is Daisy Portrayed In The Great Gatsby
The Great Gatsby, and it gives us an insight into the gender roles of past WW1 America. Throughout
the novel, women are portrayed in a very negative light. The author s presentation of women is
unflattering and unsympathetic. The women are not described with depth. When given their
description, Fitzgerald appeals to their voice, she had a voice full of money , their looks her face was
lovely with bright things in it, bright eyes, and a bright passionate mouth , and the way in which they
behave, They re such beautiful shirts she sobbed , rather than their feelings or emotions, for example,
Daisy is incapable of genuine affection, however she is aimlessly flirtatious. In the Great Gatsby,

Daisy misleads Gatsby in thinking she is going to escape with him and leave everything behind even
though she has no real intention of doing so. Her middle name Fay means fairy which epitomizes her
carefree, ethereal manner, as well as envisaging a flitting personality, which ties into her lack of
loyalty. Ann Massa cites, Daisy s lack of depth and passion leads her to flinch from the real emotion
and profound inner vitality which Gatsby s life style struggles to express. She does not deal with the
aftermath of her affair with Gatsby; she did not attend his funeral, abandoning him in his death, and
left Nick to clean up the mess she had made. She also says to Gatsby, I d like to get you in one of
those pink clouds and put you in it and push you around. This suggests that she wants to escape with
Gatsby, without confronting Tom with their affair. Daisy s presented with the inability to take
responsibilities for her actions, and this leads to the mistrust Fitzgerald reflects throughout the novel.
Like Jordan, Daisy is a careless character, as the accident with Myrtle shows. She is careless because
she had been born into wealth and she had an endless resource of men who continually spoil her.
However in spite of all her faults, Fitzgerald presents her with ingenuity as she is clearly cynical about
the position she is in, and this is epitomized when she comments the best thing a girl

While reading the story of Gengi there were many moments of total confusion. The only way to get a

26. The Cost Of High Transportation Costs
roduction costs. According to Wagner (2008) oil is grated by its viscosity (light to heavy) and by the
amount of impurities it contains (sweet to sour). The heavy/sour crude is more available, but less
preferred as it contains impurities and needs more processing to refine into gas. The cost of processing
heavy/sour crude oil is high; this is why the price of sweet/light crude oil is much higher than
heavy/sour crude oil. So, high production costs of gas make the supply elasticity lower. Transportation
costs. States that are farther from the source of supply will have higher prices because of high
transportation cost. State or companies have to invest in technology as tankers, pipelines, blending
terminals etc.
Technology. Getting out of ground and processing crude oil need high capital investment in

when buyers can easily buy less when the price is higher and more when the price is low. But when
the demand is not elastic, they can because air pollution and stimulate alternative energy, it is better

Fun Home and Sex Criminals both explore sexuality and identity in different ways throughout the
books. With Sex Criminals, the use of colour to represent different means and the passing of time in
the book was very key to the story. In both books there was a struggle with their sexual identity where
the main characters are trying to figure out who they really are. Both books do this differently. In fun
Home it is a struggle for a father and daughter, while in Sex Criminals it is two individuals that share
the same power but have to figure it out by themselves in the beginning. In Sex Criminals, the main
character was a lone and no one would help her on her journey to discovering what was happing with
her body and who she really was. The author of this books shows us this through the use of colour.
The colour of her clothing would represent different things, when she was confident about who she

Alone and palely loitering? Keats portrays La belle dame in a negative light, as a character who
distrusts and mistreats the knight. Perhaps this expresses keats feelings towards women, however he
creates separate characters with different personalities. Although La belle dame is described as a
beautiful mythical creature she uses the knight and leaves him to die. In the last three stanzas of the
poem the knight describes the sight of dead men on the cold hill side who have also been enthralled by

40. Research Paper On Queen Hatshepsut
Pharaoh Queen Hatshepsut
Allie Rupkalvis
Queen Hatshepsut of the Eighteenth Dynasty of Egypt was one of the first known female pharaohs.
Born in 1507 BC, Hatshepsut was the longest reigning female pharaoh, who was in power from
almost twenty two years. Queen Hatshepsut is often considered to be one of the most successful
pharaohs in the history of ancient Egypt.
Daughter to Egyptian king, Thutmose I, and his principal wife, Ahmose, Hatshepsut was destined to
be the queen one day. King Thutmose I also had another child with one of his lesser wives, Thutmose
II. After her father s death, twelve year old Hatshepsut was married off to her half brother, Thutmose
II. Marrying within your family was common during that time period because they wanted to keep the
royal bloodline pure.
King Thutmose II s reigned over the Eighteenth Dynasty of Egypt for fifteen years, and Hatshepsut
took the traditional role as queen and principal wife. During Thutmose II and Hatshepsut s marriage,
Hatshepsut bore a daughter, Neferure, but no sons. However, Thutmose II had a male heir, Thutmose
III, with one of his lesser wives.
At the time of Thutmose II s death, Thutmose III was still an infant, unable to ascend the throne
unaided. Hatshepsut initially served as Thutmose III s regent, until, for reasons unknown, Hatshepsut
assumed the role of pharaoh. While Hatshepsut never officially gained possession of the crown
because Thutmose III was never uncrowned, it was clear that Hatshepsut was the primary ruler.
Under the reign of Hatshepsut, Egypt flourished. Hatshepsut focused on economic prosperity and
rebuilding and restoring monuments throughout Egypt, rather than battles and conquering new lands.
Hatshepsut is credited for a trading expedition to the land of Punt, ships returned from the island filled
with gold, ivory, ebony, and myrrh trees. One of Hatshepsut s greatest accomplishments as pharaoh

front stage we re putting up in act to present our self to whoever our audience is. Whereas in the back
stage we have no one to put on a show for and we can relax and let loose. Role performance is similar
with role conflict because a role performance is a certain interpretation that you give your role. For
example, I can play the role as a good student and turn in all my assignments in on time, score high on
