Alexander Hamilton And Thomas Jefferson
Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson had believed in American freedom and independence.
Hamilton was a founding father of the United States, served in the American Revolutionary War,
helped draft the Constitution, and was the first Secretary of the Treasury in Washington s Cabinet.
Thomas Jefferson was the author of the Declaration of Independence, the 3rd president of the United
States, 2nd vice president, and the first Secretary of State. Since Jefferson and Hamilton had different
childhoods and adult experiences growing up, this may have led to a different political view as well.
Alexander Hamilton was born in Charlestown, Nevis, in the West Indies on January 11, 1757 (or
1755), to James Hamilton and Rachel Fawcett. According to www.history.com, Hamilton, himself,
claims that he was born in 1757, but official documents from Nevis list that he was born in 1755. His
father and mother did not have a successful marriage, which led Alexander and his family to
immigrate to St. Croix, where their father soon abandoned the family. During this time, his family was
too poor to afford regular school, so Hamilton was educated by his mother and a clergyman at St.
Croix. While his mother was running a store, Hamilton was employed at an import export firm owned
by Nicholas Cruger. Since Cruger had liked Hamilton, he began to teach him an introduction in global
finance. After spending time at work, Hamilton would go to the library of Reverend Hugh Knox to

Benefits Of Free Bitcoins
How to get free Bitcoins
Many often wonder as to where they can get free bitcoins. There are ardent lovers of it all around the
world, and for many, the discovery of it is more like getting hold of organic foods. This is said because
there are a whole lot of visible benefits but many find it difficult to get the cost of it all justified. The
reason behind this is that no one wants to end up getting a bad deal and thus you need a Bitcoin Wallet
first. Hence the Bitcoin community has come up with free samples just like any other organic food
store. In fact, the largest of traders might just easily benefit if everyone blindly jumped into earning

There used to be sites run by some friendly folks that used to be after Bitcoin Aliens. The real fact is
that they have a much similar functionality to a regular faucet. However, one significant difference is
the fact that users get paid for reading all the classic books. It is indeed one of the most engaging and
exciting methods of spreading away money that is free. This is because the user gets the opportunity
for engaging in more ways than one. You don t just only be around a CAPTCHA and continue

Another fun game which is usually available for the Android devices is the Bitcoin Popper. The
approach of this game is slightly different as it takes into account the machine slot approach there is a
complete possibility of getting a prize. It offers for upgrades that are paid with every session having
added more time to it. It may not be overly popular with free Bitcoiners or faucet surfers, but it has
minor interruptions from the advertisements. For winning one must get a few matching stars. Once
there are a total of three the payout is more for each of the additional one. It is comparatively harder to
play at the first instant, but with continual efforts, one will get winning results. There are many trials

Serving Mentally Ill Prison Populations
The United States has the highest rate of adult incarceration among the developed countries, with 2.2
million currently in jails. In the last three decades those with mental disorders have been increasing
more rapidly than the courts would like, which could be the result of the deinstitutionalization of the
state mental health system.
What Are the Services Provided by Mental Health Courts?
The mental health system focuses primarily on the treatment of illnesses, public health, and harm
reduction. The courts attempt to purview each system so that they can fulfill its duty and produce the
best outcomes for people that have a mental illness and for their community. The mental health court
system likes to motivate individuals to connect to community based treatment services while the court
monitors their progress and ensures public safety. According to Almquist L. and Dodd E., the

Helios The Odyssey
In 5th century BC, Helios was regarded as a chief god. He was worshipped as a sun god in Greek,
especially in Rhodes (fanpop.com, 2015). He was depicted as having glowing eyes, golden blonde
hair, and clothed in a purple robe and crowned with shining aureole of the sun. Helios was the son of
Hyperion and Theia and he was an original Titan (Theoi Encyclopedia inc., 2015). He was the original
god of the sun before he was replaced by Apollo. He was the husband to Clymene, the Nymph of the
island of Rhodes. He was referred to being the one who watches from above and sees and observes
anyone or anything if he wishes, not just on earth but in heaven also (greek gods.org, 2015). Helios

My Family s Case Of John Greg And Michael
For our film focus, we chose to look at my uncle, John Greg, and his partner Michael and the relation
to same sex marriages and the white wedding. In our film, we ponder whether many same sex
weddings defy the traditional standards of an American wedding or if they conform to their own ideas.
In my family s case of John Greg and Michael, they conformed to many of their own concepts, while
choosing to keep many of the classic wedding traditions that have been circulating for decades. John
Greg and Michael present a fusion wedding, that stands out among many of the other same sex
weddings. Their wedding relates to our course material through Karen Dunak s book, As Long As We
Both Shall Love: Weddings In Postwar America, as she presents a chapter on same sex marriages. As
John Greg and Michael got married recently, their not only being gay, and the choice to marry was
completely accepted throughout my family. In addition, John Greg and Michael live in the fairly
liberal, New York City. Their story is considered atypical as every single member of the family
approved and supported them, honestly and truthfully. John Greg and Michael are considered typical
as they maintained many traditions that have been in the white wedding for ages, and tweaked many
elements to fit their own personalities and needs. John Greg and Michael intersect with the topic of the
white wedding, and same sex marriage. The white wedding is the long established American image of
the wedding,

Alltel Essay
1. How would you describe the competitive strategy of the ALLTEL Pavilion? Given the firm s
strategy, what are the most important Key Performance Indicators (e.g., quantitative measures) for the
Pavilion to track and manage if it is to achieve its goal of continuous annual growth in operating
income?
ALLTEL Pavilion is operated by SFX Entertainment in an outdoor atmosphere for its customers.
ALLTEL attempts to create a competitive advantage as the major outdoor concert venue in the
Triangle area of North Carolina consisting of Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill. The amphitheater has
art like acoustics and video differentiating the venue with trying to keep costs budgeted for each
concert. The Key Performance Indicators are based on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
B. How many tickets must ALLTEL Pavilion sell to earn $30,000 operating income after taxes,
assuming a 40 percent tax rate?
Is it reasonable to assume this level of operating income will be achieved? Briefly explain. $30,000 /
(1 0.40) = 4x($40.08 $3.05) + 1x($13.09 $3.05) $263,245 $30,000 / (1 0.40) = x($158.16) $265,245
$30,000 = x($94.896) $157,947 $187,947 = x($94.896) x = 1980.5577 tickets 1(1980.5577) = 1981
comp tickets 4(1980.5577) = 7923 paying tickets in order to earn $30,000 Operating Income after
taxes The total number of 7923 paying tickets is reasonable to be achieved, although it is above the
number of 7000 tickets that the reserved seating can actually hold at ALLTEL Pavilion.
3. What should be the average ticket price (for all ticket types combined A through D) for the KFBS
concert if the fixed pay fee is $200,000 (rather than $160,635) and the Pavilion expects to sell 7,000
tickets and wants to earn $30,000 operating income after 40 percent in taxes?
After you estimate the average ticket price for all ticket types combined (which is $22.12 for the
situation depicted in Exhibit 2), estimate the price for each type of seat (i.e., in Exhibit 2: A $36.29, B
$22.22, C $11.31, D $4.92). [Hint: assume the sales mix for A, B, C, and D seats remains the same as
the mix in the Flash Report (Exhibit 2).] $30,000 / (1 0.40) = 7000 ($13.09 $3.05)

Coastguard Search And Rescue (SAR)
Search and Rescue (SAR) is one of the Coast Guards oldest missions. Minimizing the loss of life,
injury, property damage or loss by rendering aid to persons in distress has always been one of the
Coast Guards top priorities. On the early morning of November 16, 2017 around 8:45 AM, Coast
Guard Station Washington overheard a terrifying event taking place on their local channel 17 radio.
There was a forty foot pleasure craft vessel on fire with two people on board, along with eight other
people in the water occurring in the mouth of the Washington channel by Haines Point. A crew of five
experienced Boat Crew members worked quickly to get underway on their 29 foot small response
boat. Once underway and on scene at 9:00 AM there were already other multiple government agencies
responding. The Coxswain, BM3 Westoby was surveying the scene and noticed Fire boat 201 was

assistance, the crew of the 29 foot RBS got permission to return to base. Once asked about what went
on in your head when you heard what you needed to get underway for? BM3 Westoby stated My first
thought was to respond as fast and safely as possible by limiting the person s time in the 49 degree

BM3 Westoby. Together we all flawlessly did just that and were able to have all survivors go home

The Negative Effects Of Zero Earthquavity On Humans
Zero gravity can be something fun to experience, but it can also have some bad effects on humans.
Zero gravity or weightlessness happens when the effects of gravity are not experienced. Humans have
been experiencing zero gravity since the year 1961 when Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin became the
first human to travel to space. Zero gravity has became something humans experience for fun. For
example there is a company called Zero G and they they allow people to pay money to go up in a
plane and experience zero gravity. Even though some people find Zero gravity as a experience of a
lifetime, it can also have some bad effects on humans. The International Space Station is in constant
freefall above Earth. It s forward motion is just about equal to the speed it falls to earth. This allows
the astronauts inside to experience zero gravity. One function of The International Space Station is to
test the long term effects that zero gravity has on the human body. It was a huge focus for the first one
year long mission where astronauts were in zero gravity for one year straight. (space.com) NASA uses
astronauts to determine the effects of zero gravity on humans. They send them to the International
Space Station for long period at a time. Just recently Scott Kelly and Mikhail Kornienko were the first
humans to spend one consecutive year in space. NASA used them to test the effects of zero gravity on
humans. They used that information to help determine how humans would react to zero

The Case Study Of Ana
In this paper, I will discuss the case study of Ana . Ana is 24 years old, has lost her job, and worries
about becoming homeless. She currently is a single parent due to her husband being deployed in a
combat zone overseas for the next eight months. Ana is a first generation immigrant from Guatemala;
she comes from a large family. She claims to have a close relationship with her family but has not seen
her family for about a year. Her father is a banker and her mother an educator, her three siblings all
has graduated college and have professional careers. Ana has completed one year of college, but
needed to leave school after her son was born, finding it difficult to manage being a parent, student
and a full time employee as well. While showing signs of being depressed and anxious, she has agreed
to eight sessions for treatment. Using this background information in this paper will cover the use of
Bowen Family Systems for the treatment of Ana.
What concepts of the theory make it the most appropriate for the client in the case study?
There are two main parts, both of which are part of Bowen s eight concepts. Differentiation of self,
which points out the pressure of conforming to the group/family dynamic. The second point is the
family projection process. This is how parents project their emotions onto a child. (In this case Ana s
family projecting their expectations onto her.) The overall concept of the Bowen s eight concepts is
important, but it is felt that these

 Mount the CPU in the socket of the Mainboard. You must choose the correct CPU for your
motherboard, and install it according to its instructions. Be careful not to install the CPU in wrong.
Not only would your computer not work, it could short circuit and damage your motherboard.
 Connect the CPU cooler to the Mainboard. Using a heat sensitive bonding paste
 Attach the RAM (memory) modules in the corresponding slots. The motherboard should have rows
of slots that have 2 or 3 sections that are different lengths. Make sure the pins on the RAM cards line
up with the pins on the motherboard connector. Don t get the RAM slots mixed up with PCI slots. The
PCI slots are usually wider.
 Open the case and mount the power supply which is M ATX type. Make sure to connect all the
connections to the drives and the motherboard.
 Attach the Mainboard back plate to the case and check the Mainboard mounting positions. The
motherboard s instructions should tell the position of the motherboard.  Attach the Cooling system
which can be bonding using a heat sensitive paste
 Mount the Hard disk and connect it to the power supply and the motherboard. There should be
separate connections for the power supply and the motherboard. In SATA Hard disk case, should
remove the jumper.
 Connect the SATA connectors to the drives and the USB connectors and the case switches to the
motherboard.

Bratz Doll s Negative Effects On Young Girls
The Bratz doll was created to be a good alternative to the Barbie; instead, she teaches sexuality
through inappropriate attire and excessive makeup. The Bratz doll needs a make over if she is going to
teach girls to grow up confident. Young girls playing with Bratz dolls is not an ideal situation because
the doll teaches them how to make themselves look more sexualized. This plastic doll is only six
inches in length, much shorter then it s competitor Barbie, but it still holds much more impact on a
child. With very voluminous hair and outrageous makeup such as eyeshadow, lipstick, and mascara,
little girls are being exposed to something that they should not have to experience until they are in
their teens. The dolls lead young girls to think ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This becomes a big issue when you take into consideration the dolls attire. Many of them come
featured in expensive fur coats and crop tops which is extremely inappropriate for a child s toy. The
young girls could be led to think that it is ok to dress in the sexually inappropriate ways that Bratz
dress. This is why The American Psychological Association believes that Bratz dolls are far worse
than Barbie dolls considering the way they re dressed in fishnet stockings and very short skirts
(gigkk). Young girls don t usually realize what they are playing with, but in these cases they will
definitely notice how they look drastically different from their supposedly look alike dolls. Their adult
like bodies are too sexualized for young girls because they have not yet built their self esteem . This
can cause havoc on a young girl s brains according to the research of the American Psychological
Association, We have ample evidence to conclude that sexualization has negative effects in a variety
of domains, including cognitive functioning, physical and mental health, and healthy sexual
development (Eileen L. Zurbriggen, PhD, chair of the APA Task Force). These little girls should be

A Separate Peace And The Curious Incident Of The Dog
A Separate Peace and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night time were two very captivating
coming of age novels. Although, while I was reading these novels, I may not have appreciated them at
the time. Now as I am reflecting the themes and lessons that can be learned from the books, I am
noticing just how great these books truly are. Just like all books, these two books carried important
information and experiences that readers can learn from. Even though these books are both fiction,
that does not lessen the importance of the events. The characters in these books were all so different,
but even then, similarities can be listed. Two traits that all the main characters shared in common was

Phineas and Gene are best friends at the boarding school they attend. This so called friendship is put to
the test after Phineas breaks his leg after he fell off the same tree that Gene just so happened to be on

accident, instead other people outside of their friendship started to question everything. Even though
they still considered each other to be best friends, and basically acted the same way, other people were
convinced that Gene made Phineas fall from the tree. This action would be a demonstration of
breaking each other s trust. They remained strong throughout all the accusations and trusted each
nonetheless of other people s judgement. So really, both of these novels perfectly represented the
theme of trust in a way that it is held and broken.
Another important theme worth mentioning that A Separate Peace and The Curious Incident of the
Dog in the Night time had in common was bravery, or perhaps courage. The novel that bravery was
expressed the most was A Separate Peace. The setting of the book was during World War II. That
alone makes bravery and courage such a dominant theme in the novel. The bravery and strength that it

The Role Of B C Kitchen
Like all successful businesses, a well constructed team of members must have a plan on how it should

Explain What Is Meant By St. Augustine Of Hippo
Questions about sin have been the focus of much theological conversation and discussion for the
reason that how one answers them strongly influences the rest of Christian doctrine. Augustine of
Hippo is regarded as one of the most important and well known theologians and philosophers in the
history of the Christian religion. His writings influenced the development of Western Christianity and
Western philosophy. Augustine s faith development recorded in treatises, sermons, and letters
highlights the theological landscape of the time and one man s journey to Christianity. Augustine

Both Pegasus and Augustine based their teachings off the writings of Paul, to the point that Augustine
discovered what he saw as the essence of Christian faith by reading Romans. The basis of Augustine s
Doctrine of Original Sin stemmed from the thought that original sin was transmitted from generation
to generation through sexual intercourse. The theology of original sin that Augustine articulated in 397
is reflected clearly and repeatedly in Augustine s most famous writing, his Confessions, which he
began to write at the same time, shortly after he became bishop of Hippo. Augustine understood
original sin in that:
. . . all men, born according to nature, are born with sin, that is, without the fear of God, without
confidence towards God and with concupiscence, and that this original disease or flaw is truly a sin,
bringing condemnation and also eternal death to those who are not reborn through baptism and the

Why Go To Archbishop Williams
Why do you want to go to Archbishop Williams? I think I would thrive at Archbishop Williams. I ve

things were his original voice and his unique way of picking the banjo. Mr. Stanleys mother bought
him his first banjo for five dollars when he was around 15 or 16. His mother taught him to play
clawhammer style on the banjo and later in life he developed his own style from this strumming style.
After graduation from high school in May of 1945, he went into the Army for about a year. The day he
came home from the war, Carter, his Brother, and his father picked him up and later that night he
made an appearance on the radio singing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After spending many hours just listening to the songs played I discovered many different styles,
melodies, harmonies, voices, and instruments. There were two songs in this album that were a trio that
consisted of Ralph Stanley, Vince Gill, and Patty Loveless. Something that I think sounded very well
was the harmony when they all sang the chorus of the song A Lonesome Night . The mix of Ralph
Stanley s high pitch unique voice, Vince Gills soft, smooth tone, and Patty Loveless honky tonk style
blended very well. Some other instruments besides the banjo were guitar, fiddle, and the mandolin. To
no surprise, all of these instruments are very prone to being involved in the bluegrass genre. From the
many different voices that were included in this album, they each had at least a little piece of
originality to them. You can definitely hear belting from some of the older people simply because of
when they began singing and how they got used to singing loud without amplification

The Future of Outsourcing Essay
The Future of Outsourcing In this extremely technically diverse twenty first century, where businesses
have become able to meet more and more of the needs of people and other businesses, it is often
amazing to think of all the individually operating parts which together make the business a success.
Often if even one part of that great machine falters, progress is halted. Thus it is crucial to any
company to be as healthy and efficient as possible. As demands for flexibility for customers and
increased profit for administration continue to grow, more and more businesses are turning to
outsourcing for the creation of certain products and services. This is one way to alleviate pressure
from businesses workers, allowing them to do their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite his enthusiasm about not being laid off, Joseph s workload had increased ten fold in response
to the company trying to sustain its present levels of product production and customer satisfaction
despite now employing only three quarters of the work force it formally had. Joseph is working longer
hours, thus spending less time with his family and getting less sleep. His general impression of his job
(employee satisfaction) is quickly dropping. All this contributes to his decreasing quality of work.
Thankfully, after a few months, Joseph s good friend Bill (who has a strong hand in how things work
at Microsoft) notices Joseph s declining quality of work and general unhappiness and decides to make
some changes. They decide to outsource many of the more menial jobs that were once performed by
lower level employees; those jobs which coincidentally now are the responsibility of Joseph. With
these other tasks taken care of elsewhere, Joseph is back to enjoying his job and designing some of the
highest quality product produced by the Microsoft Corporation. It is clear from this scenario how
employee satisfaction plays a large role in overall company efficiency as well.
When a business makes the decision to outsource there are numerous factions affected. First and
foremost is the person or team from within the company who are charged with the task of deciding
who they will choose to outsource them. They are termed the buyers . Being a buyer is perhaps one of

Under Contract The United States Army creates great opportunities for anyone who joins their ranks.
The Army is the largest branch out of the five military branches and also grants you the most freedom
of choice. They are the only branch to allow you to choose your job and where you re stationed before
you sign a contract. In turn this attracts a lot of potential soldiers to their branch. Furthermore this is
the reason I myself have chosen to pursue this path. One of the most important aspects of the army is
the way you live your daily life while you are in. Army life varies greatly mattering whether you enlist
as an active duty or reserve soldier, it also depends if you are an officer or a regular enlisted. As a

They offer many ways of training to become an officer of the Army. There are a few ways to become
an officer by either gaining entry to West Point Academy or going through a ROTC program at a
college. As an officer you will receive better pay and more benefits. If you spend the time to become
an officer a smart move would be to spend at least twenty years in the Army. ROTC (Reserve officers
training corps) is a common way of becoming an officer. Colleges all over the country offer ROTC
courses, it s a 4 year course. You must sign an 8 year contract to pay for the schooling that you will
need. When you graduate from ROTC you will join the ranks of the army as a 2nd Lt and base pay
will start at $35,000 a year. Because of your status as a officer you can advance farther then a regular
reserve or active duty soldier. Th e most difficult yet prestigious way to become an officer is being
admitted to West Point Academy. West Point is very hard to get accepted to, only having an admission
percentage of twelve percent, the school offers some of the finest education in the country. You will
need above average grades and SAT scores, while also being ranked in the top thirty percent of your
class. Along with those scores you will need to request Congressional approval from your states
senator (Kamo). Once you have all of these things you can be permitted to the prestigious training

The Amoretti, Italian For Cupids
The Amoretti, Italian for Cupids was written by the famous English Renaissance poet Edmund
Spenser in the 16th century. It is a sonnet cycle that begins with his courtship and ends with his
marriage to Elizabeth Boyle. Sonnet 64 is a blazon form sonnet with an abab bcbc cdcd ee rhyme
scheme. In this sonnet, the speaker explores the body of his lover and appreciates the scents that it
exudes. The first quatrain begins with a kiss. He leans in but doesn t complete the act. Coming to kiss
her lips, (such grace I found) Me seem d, I smelt a garden of sweet flow rs That dainty odours from
them threw around For damsels fit to deck their lovers bow rs (lines 1 4)
When he leaned in to kiss her, he thought he smelled a garden of sweet flowers lingering about. The
lovely scent given off is fit for a young lady to adorn her lover. The speaker goes on to describe
Elizabeth s features in similes, comparing them to flowers. He starts with her lips, noting that they
give off the scent of gillyflowers, also known as carnations. He goes on to portray her ruddy cheeks
comparing them to red roses. The rose, which often symbolizes love and passion, also gives off a
sense of caution with it s thorns. They also represent female virginity, beauty, and respect which are all
qualities that are attached to Elizabeth.
As he moves further along with her features, he continues, Her snowy brows, like budded bellamours;/
Her lovely eyes, like pinks but newly spread; (lines 7 8). By saying

Base on Joseph Campbell s 17 Stages of the Monomyth the novel Harry Potter and the Sorcerer s
Stone includes quite a few stages.
The Call to Adventure: The Call to Adventure present itself in chapter 4 The Keeper of the Keys when
Hagrid arrives at the shack. Before Hagrid s arrival Harry Potter was a normal boy living in a normal
world. However, that is until he is informed about Hogwarts, his famous parents. the fact that he is a
wizard and famous himself. The Call to Adventure becomes clearer when he finally receives the
acceptance letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Originally Harry was supposed
to attend Stonewall High now he will have to leave what he once knew and venture into the
unknown(wizard world.)

Refusal of the Call: Harry refused the call when he didn t think he could be a wizard. I think you must
have made a mistake. I don t think I can be a wizard. It was all too surreal for him from living half of
his life as an average teenage boy bullied by his family to finding out he is a wizard. It was hard for
him to grasp. His reaction is normal in a sense, but the way he reacted was due to his insecurity. In his
mind, how can he be a wizard if he couldn t protect himself(perform magic) from his Uncle Vernon,
Dudley, and Aunt Petunia.

Incest Conflict In Hamlet
Blood is thicker than water, which is easy to see when it s spilled all over the floor at the end of the
play. Hamlet dwells on issues of incest and revenge, both of which just might be taking the family
bond a little too far. In Shakespeare s Hamlet, family conflict contributes an undesirable effect on
Hamlet s success in avenging his father s murder. Hamlet and Old Hamlet, his father, had a very close
relationship in life. That is why Hamlet believes it is his responsibility as a devoted and dutiful son to
avenge his father s murder. Hamlet struggles with whether the ghost is a true ghost or a minister of

damnation . It is Hamlet s indecision ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hamlet, however, resents his mother s seeming dismissal of her first husband s memory. At that time,
Elizabethans believed that when two people married, a piece of each resided in the other; therefore,
when Claudius sleeps with Gertrude, he is sleeping with a part of his brother. Hamlet perceives this as
an incestuous relationship. Hamlet s resentment could also be explained using Freud s Oedipus
complex, a son being in love with his mother. This explains Hamlet s true feelings and intentions that
involve his father, Old Hamlet. If Hamlet was romantically interested in his mother, this could suggest
that jealousy and envy were the motives for wanting to kill Claudius, and not necessarily to seek
vengeance for the murder of his father. Throughout the book, Hamlet and Gertrude somewhat distance
themselves from one another despite their odd attraction to one another. However, at one point,
Hamlet begins yelling, attacking, and then kissing his mother. At that moment, Old Hamlet s ghost
appears to tell Hamlet to leave his mother alone and let Heaven sort things out with her. In the end,
Hamlet is no closer to achieving his purpose in terms of his relationship with his

When one looks at how the media continues to communicate...
When one looks at how the media continues to communicate certain messages to the American public,
it is remarkable how some trends have continued for decades. This is particularly true concerning
images and graphics and the subtle messages that they carry in the world of print communications.
The unfortunate reality is that the media is no different from many institutions in American society in
that it has to sell products to the public in order to stay financially stable. As a means of doing so, the
media provides audiences with images that often satisfy their desires and meet their expectations.
Consequently, the inclusion of such stereotypes creates a vicious cycle as the audience continues to be

Furthermore, the inclusion of the scantily clad cheerleaders on both covers suggests that it is the girls
responsibility to keep their man s physical talents top secret. As both Larry and Doug are positioned in
a traditional masculine manner by having their brawny arms flexed around their hips, the cheerleaders
surrounding them are bending down to show off their sexy and fit bodies. The message remains
through the decades that in terms of our athletic heroes, it is the women s job to serve the supporting
role of serving in their best interests. As Potter explains, the media has remained just as influential as
it ever has in terms of reaching a vast number of people. People continue to spend more and more time
with the media. Over the past three decades, every new survey of media use has shown that the
average person is increasing exposure every year (Potter 5). With such rampant exposure, the
institution of the media has become only more powerful in its efforts to disseminate messages that
perpetuate stereotypes and reinforce the audience s previously held beliefs. Unfortunately, Sports

To What Extent Has Modern Liberalism Departed from the...
To what extent has modern liberalism departed from the ideas of classical liberalism?
The further development of industrialisation led to social and economic inequality. This led to a
revision of classical liberal ideas to prevent the spread of ignorance and poverty. It is suggested that
modern liberals have betrayed classical liberal ideas as they embrace collectivism and diverge from
classical liberalism on issues such as freedom. However, it can be argued that modern liberals have
simply built on classical liberal ideas such as its commitment to the individual.

Mill disagreed with Bentham as he believed in higher and lower pleasures that can be derived from
actions and promoted those pleasures which developed an individual s skills and abilities rather than
short term pleasure seeking actions. He placed emphasis on individual development and flourishing.
Another area in which it is suggested that modern liberalism has departed from classical liberalism is
freedom. Classical liberals believe in negative freedom. This is simply that there should be an absence
of external constraints on the individual and as such they should be left alone to make their own
choices. In this way classical liberals were heavily influenced by the natural rights theories of John
Locke and Thomas Jefferson. Jefferson claimed that we were born with inalienable rights and
therefore no individual or government had the right to take these away. Freedom from constraints is
therefore an essential condition for exercising these rights. In practise, this has meant that classical
liberals have advocated a minimal state or what John Locke referred to as the night watchman state .
The activities of this state should be limited to the enforcement of contracts, maintaining order and
protection from foreign threats to prevent the state from infringing on individual liberties as much as
possible.
Modern Liberals on the other hand have advocated a more positive interpretation of freedom. Positive

Here at Virgin Atlantic, we identify and meet customer needs through customer survey questionnaires/
comment cards and customer forums/focus groups.
When the survey questionnaires or comment cards have been read by a member for our staff, usually
the customer service manager, they then analyse all of the comments to find areas of improvement in
order to meet customer needs.
For example, if a number of customers have complained about staff not knowing obvious information
i.e. directions around the airport, prices of products or check in times, that would tell us that our staff
are unequipped to help our customers.
From this, we will then need to realise and work our a way to get more information into our staff in
order to meet the needs of our customers more efficiently.
This can be done in many ways, however the most ideal one for this situation would be to hold regular
morning/afternoon meetings to keep staff updated with information.
When we exceed customer expectations, we like to go that extra mile by giving out customers more in
depth information. An example of this would be when a customer asks simply the time of their flight,
we like to make sure that our staff will fully inform our customers of their flight time, boarding time,
gate number and if there will be any delays.
At the Martime Museum (NMM) they meet and exceed

The Correlation Between Down Syndrome And Alzheimer s...
The Correlation between Down syndrome and Alzheimer s disease
Anna Lister
Biology Honors, P. 3
Mrs. Creech
25 November 2015
Introduction:
Alzheimer s disease (AD) is a disease that slowly and progressively causes memory impairment. It
will eventually inhibit abilities, such as language, planning, and perception. AD is prevalent in
individuals with Down syndrome (DS), a condition where those affected had acquired three additional
chromosome 21 before birth (emedicinehealth, 2014). Michael Rafii, director of the Memory
Disorders Clinic at UCSD, says that people with Down syndrome represent the world s largest
population of individuals predisposed to getting Alzheimer s disease (Hamilton, 2014). There is no
cure for either, and scientists are still lacking the knowledge of a complete story.
Beta Amyloid, Plaques, and the Destruction of Nerve Cells:
There is a large supply of amyloid plaques in the cells of people with Alzheimer s disease. Amyloid
plaques are clustered pieces of protein that build up between nerve cells. They speed up the production
of beta amyloid, which are polypeptides of about thirty six to forty three amino acids long
(emedicinehealth, 2014; Stanford Medicine, 2013). Amyloid precursor proteins (APP), when split into
specific pieces, are producers of beta amyloid. They are found in tissues and organs, such as the brain.
Amyloid precursor proteins pass through a fatty membrane on the outside of a cell. This allows them
to extend from the

Capital Punishment Is Cruel And Unusual
Although many people believe that capital punishment is cruel and unusual. It is the only punishment
that can truly compensate the loss of a loved one. In recent years, the rate of serious crimes has
increased. The increase of crime is the result of less effective punishment. Dating back to early
civilizations, capital punishment, also known as the death penalty, was viewed as an effective
punishment. Yet today s society it is viewed as cruel and inhumane. I believe that capital punishment
should be executed more often because; the rate of serious crime will decrease, free up prison space,
and would serve as the ultimate warning. What is capital punishment? Capital punishment is the
lawful way to take a person s life, once convicted of a serious crime, such as first degree murder.
Some people agree it is the most appropriate punishment to all vile murder cases (Williams), but
others call it cruel and unconstitutional. There are a variety of methods in the death penalty. The
method used most would be lethal injections, due to its quickness, effectiveness, and pain less results.
My first reason why I believe the death penalty should be executed more often is because it could
possibly help the problem of overcrowding in prisons. States such as Texas and California, mainly
suffer from this problem due to its vast population and crime rate. Instead of keeping inmates for life
in prison, its better to execute the one s with the most serious crimes than to release them or

allure of these animals who have killer instincts and an aggressive nature. In Hughes poem Pike he
uses paradox to highlight the pike s beauty and a sense of threat, in the introductory four stanzas. He

Machiavelli s Views On Nature Of Good Rule Essay
Both Locke and Machiavelli share the philosophy of improving the establishment but their point of
views regarding the nature of good rule varies. Machiavelli presents a rather extreme notion of the
Prince disregarding individual rights for the benefit of the principality. He justifies these violations of
rights, by implementing that it is necessary in order to maintain order and power. Machiavelli s idea of
the nature of good rule benefited the society of that specific time period through the means of letting
human nature take rule of the principality. Locke on the other hand, argues that people need absolute
control over the establishment in order to maintain order and equality. This argument is derived from
the concept of the good rule of nature. In a conversation between both men, Locke would achieve the
greater argument when it comes the nature of good rule but does not do so without certain restraints.
These restraints will be pointed out by Machiavelli and a counter argument will be presented by
Locke, which justifies his theories and strengthens his argument regarding the nature of good rule.
Machiavelli begins his argument, by justifying an authoritarian governing system by the means of
hereditary rule. He believes that people always comply with The Princes rule because they act on love.
Machiavelli explains this when he states that, The hereditary prince has less cause and less necessity
to offend, hence it happens that he will be more loved (The prince, 3). For

M.A. English (Final)
Decoding Wolfgang Iser‟s Reading Process Theory through the Text of Mrs Dalloway and
Bravely Fought the Queen In the 1960s, the new criticism theory in the American Literary arena
focused on the reading of a literary text as an independent form and not to be studied in relation to any
context. This gave birth to another theory that began majorly in 1960s and 1970s known as reader
response criticism, which also tried to do away with the author‟s role and focused on the reader‟s
perception that defined the text‟s subjectivity. In his work The Reading Process A
Phenomenological Approach , Wolfgang Iser describes about the reading of a literary work or text as
an interaction between the reader and the author. In order to understand a text in a better way and to
explore its meaning, Louise Rosenblatt in his work Literature as Exploration described how the
readers should be free from any preconceived notions about the proper way to react to any work
(Lewis,C.S.,1961) to experience any work or text individually. Similarly,
Iser also want the readers to make a niche for themselves while the aesthetic reading of a wok or a
text. Wolfgang Iser‟s reading in reference to two works, namely, Mrs Dalloway by Virginia
Woolf and Bravely Fought the Queen by Mahesh Dattani has been assessed in order to have a better
understanding and a practical approach in exploration or understanding the meaning of the texts. Mrs
Dalloway

California Drought In The United States
Compared to more arid areas California has it easy in supply of water. Northern
California is a very lush area the issues running through all of California relate to water delivery and
recycling. An example of an area not having enough water is Afghanistan.
There is only 13 percent of the country that has drinking water available
(www.ecorazzi.com). Compared with California the delivery of the water is no drought an issue but it
s more of not having water in general.
We as California have at least before the drought did not have awareness of the water problem. Most
average Californians probably did not know about any water issues.
So the idea of conserving was not on their mind. So water smarts were not an aspect of people pre
drought.

The people of California are the utmost importance to change. With the support of the people
California can do anything. Voting for change is a empowerment the government gives to the people.
Many people can play a key role for example California senators and representatives even motors of
cities will have the challenge of getting the people heard. Getting the people to support change in this
topic it has to be sold to the people. This is a better time then ever to get the support of the people
because of the recent drought. Most people are relatively educated or at least aware of issues the
drought brung. Knowing that the people are no more the ever ready for change. The obstacle is selling
it. The facts need to be shown of the positives a new system would show.
As a Northern Californian I have an opinion that the twin tunnels project will not solve anything. It
will short term help supply SoCal with sufficient water but at the extent of NorCal. It just moves the
problem somewhere else. So in long term it will cause more problems compared to fixing them. A
plan needs to be put together that can create a steady movement and supply of water but even a better
recycling system. As

The Culture And Culture Of South Africa
South African heritage and culture is immensely diverse, and consists of many different groups of
people who each have their own traditions and beliefs. Having such a diversity of people and cultures
is what makes South Africa so unique. In the true sense of the phrase, we are a rainbow nation.
The Portuguese culture and heritage is one that is quite dense and easily found within the mix of all
the other cultures in South Africa. South Africa has approximately three hundred thousand Portuguese
people living in it. Making it the 7th on the list of countries with the most Portuguese people in it
outside of Portugal.
Portuguese is not only a culture, but it is also a language and a nationality. Portuguese people originate
from the country of Portugal in Europe, however, due to Portugal (like many other countries in
Europe) exploring the world and conquering other countries during the 15th 20th centuries, South
Africa has what we call Portuguese South African s living in it. Portuguese people are true blue blood
Christians and most follow the Roman Catholic faith.

Each of the heritages present in South Africa is different and unique in their own ways. Portuguese is
different, because it originates from Europe, the food has a Mediterranean influence, the clothing is
more vivid and bright, the music is different, the language is different, and unlike many of the other
heritages in South Africa, Portuguese doesn t have that much of a long running history within the
country. In order to fully understand some of the differences, one can make a comparison of
Portuguese to that of the San. The San people have been present in South Africa since 44 000 BCE,
the Portuguese since the 15th century; the Portuguese speak the language of Portuguese, the San speak
the click language, and so the list goes

  • 3. Alexander Hamilton And Thomas Jefferson Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson had believed in American freedom and independence. Hamilton was a founding father of the United States, served in the American Revolutionary War, helped draft the Constitution, and was the first Secretary of the Treasury in Washington s Cabinet. Thomas Jefferson was the author of the Declaration of Independence, the 3rd president of the United States, 2nd vice president, and the first Secretary of State. Since Jefferson and Hamilton had different childhoods and adult experiences growing up, this may have led to a different political view as well. Alexander Hamilton was born in Charlestown, Nevis, in the West Indies on January 11, 1757 (or 1755), to James Hamilton and Rachel Fawcett. According to www.history.com, Hamilton, himself, claims that he was born in 1757, but official documents from Nevis list that he was born in 1755. His father and mother did not have a successful marriage, which led Alexander and his family to immigrate to St. Croix, where their father soon abandoned the family. During this time, his family was too poor to afford regular school, so Hamilton was educated by his mother and a clergyman at St. Croix. While his mother was running a store, Hamilton was employed at an import export firm owned by Nicholas Cruger. Since Cruger had liked Hamilton, he began to teach him an introduction in global finance. After spending time at work, Hamilton would go to the library of Reverend Hugh Knox to learn more in ... In our film, we ponder whether many same sex weddings defy the traditional standards of an American wedding or if they conform to their own ideas. In my family s case of John Greg and Michael, they conformed to many of their own concepts, while choosing to keep many of the classic wedding traditions that have been circulating for decades. John Greg and Michael present a fusion wedding, that stands out among many of the other same sex weddings. Their wedding relates to our course material through Karen Dunak s book, As Long As We Both Shall Love: Weddings In Postwar America, as she presents a chapter on same sex marriages. As John Greg and Michael got married recently, their not only being gay, and the choice to marry was completely accepted throughout my family. Briefly explain. $30,000 / (1 0.40) = 4x($40.08 $3.05) + 1x($13.09 $3.05) $263,245 $30,000 / (1 0.40) = x($158.16) $265,245 $30,000 = x($94.896) $157,947 $187,947 = x($94.896) x = 1980.5577 tickets 1(1980.5577) = 1981 comp tickets 4(1980.5577) = 7923 paying tickets in order to earn $30,000 Operating Income after taxes The total number of 7923 paying tickets is reasonable to be achieved, although it is above the number of 7000 tickets that the reserved seating can actually hold at ALLTEL Pavilion. 3. What should be the average ticket price (for all ticket types combined A through D) for the KFBS concert if the fixed pay fee is $200,000 (rather than $160,635) and the Pavilion expects to sell 7,000 tickets and wants to earn $30,000 operating income after 40 percent in taxes? After you estimate the average ticket price for all ticket types combined (which is $22.12 for the situation depicted in Exhibit 2), estimate the price for each type of seat (i.e., in Exhibit 2: A $36.29, B $22.22, C $11.31, D $4.92). [Hint: assume the sales mix for A, B, C, and D seats remains the same as the mix in the Flash Report (Exhibit 2).] $30,000 / (1 0.40) = 7000 ($13.09 $3.05) ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Minimizing the loss of life, injury, property damage or loss by rendering aid to persons in distress has always been one of the Coast Guards top priorities. There was a forty foot pleasure craft vessel on fire with two people on board, along with eight other people in the water occurring in the mouth of the Washington channel by Haines Point. A crew of five experienced Boat Crew members worked quickly to get underway on their 29 foot small response boat. Zero gravity or weightlessness happens when the effects of gravity are not experienced. Humans have been experiencing zero gravity since the year 1961 when Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin became the first human to travel to space. Zero gravity has became something humans experience for fun. For example there is a company called Zero G and they they allow people to pay money to go up in a plane and experience zero gravity. Even though some people find Zero gravity as a experience of a lifetime, it can also have some bad effects on humans. The International Space Station is in constant freefall above Earth. It s forward motion is just about equal to the speed it falls to earth. This allows the astronauts inside to experience zero gravity. One function of The International Space Station is to test the long term effects that zero gravity has on the human body. It was a huge focus for the first one year long mission where astronauts were in zero gravity for one year straight. (space.com) NASA uses astronauts to determine the effects of zero gravity on humans. They send them to the International Space Station for long period at a time. What concepts of the theory make it the most appropriate for the client in the case study? There are two main parts, both of which are part of Bowen s eight concepts. Differentiation of self, which points out the pressure of conforming to the group/family dynamic. The second point is the family projection process. At that time, Elizabethans believed that when two people married, a piece of each resided in the other; therefore, when Claudius sleeps with Gertrude, he is sleeping with a part of his brother. Hamlet perceives this as an incestuous relationship. Hamlet s resentment could also be explained using Freud s Oedipus complex, a son being in love with his mother. This explains Hamlet s true feelings and intentions that involve his father, Old Hamlet. If Hamlet was romantically interested in his mother, this could suggest that jealousy and envy were the motives for wanting to kill Claudius, and not necessarily to seek vengeance for the murder of his father. When one looks at how the media continues to communicate certain messages to the American public, it is remarkable how some trends have continued for decades. This is particularly true concerning images and graphics and the subtle messages that they carry in the world of print communications. The unfortunate reality is that the media is no different from many institutions in American society in that it has to sell products to the public in order to stay financially stable. As a means of doing so, the media provides audiences with images that often satisfy their desires and meet their expectations. Consequently, the inclusion of such stereotypes creates a vicious cycle as the audience continues to be exposed to such messages and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As both Larry and Doug are positioned in a traditional masculine manner by having their brawny arms flexed around their hips, the cheerleaders surrounding them are bending down to show off their sexy and fit bodies. The message remains through the decades that in terms of our athletic heroes, it is the women s job to serve the supporting role of serving in their best interests. As Potter explains, the media has remained just as influential as it ever has in terms of reaching a vast number of people. People continue to spend more and more time with the media. Over the past three decades, every new survey of media use has shown that the average person is increasing exposure every year (Potter 5). With such rampant exposure, the institution of the media has become only more powerful in its efforts to disseminate messages that perpetuate stereotypes and reinforce the audience s previously held beliefs. The further development of industrialisation led to social and economic inequality. This led to a revision of classical liberal ideas to prevent the spread of ignorance and poverty. It is suggested that modern liberals have betrayed classical liberal ideas as they embrace collectivism and diverge from classical liberalism on issues such as freedom. However, it can be argued that modern liberals have simply built on classical liberal ideas such as its commitment to the individual. Mill disagreed with Bentham as he believed in higher and lower pleasures that can be derived from actions and promoted those pleasures which developed an individual s skills and abilities rather than short term pleasure seeking actions. He placed emphasis on individual development and flourishing. Another area in which it is suggested that modern liberalism has departed from classical liberalism is freedom. Classical liberals believe in negative freedom. This is simply that there should be an absence of external constraints on the individual and as such they should be left alone to make their own choices. In this way classical liberals were heavily influenced by the natural rights theories of John Locke and Thomas Jefferson. Jefferson claimed that we were born with inalienable rights and therefore no individual or government had the right to take these away. Freedom from constraints is therefore an essential condition for exercising these rights. In practise, this has meant that classical liberals have advocated a minimal state or what John Locke referred to as the night watchman state . The activities of this state should be limited to the enforcement of contracts, maintaining order and protection from foreign threats to prevent the state from infringing on individual liberties as much as possible. Modern Liberals on the other hand have advocated a more positive interpretation of freedom. Positive ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Here at Virgin Atlantic, we identify and meet customer needs through customer survey questionnaires/ comment cards and customer forums/focus groups. When the survey questionnaires or comment cards have been read by a member for our staff, usually the customer service manager, they then analyse all of the comments to find areas of improvement in order to meet customer needs. For example, if a number of customers have complained about staff not knowing obvious information i.e. directions around the airport, prices of products or check in times, that would tell us that our staff are unequipped to help our customers. From this, we will then need to realise and work our a way to get more information into our staff in order to meet the needs of our customers more efficiently. This can be done in many ways, however the most ideal one for this situation would be to hold regular morning/afternoon meetings to keep staff updated with information. When we exceed customer expectations, we like to go that extra mile by giving out customers more in depth information. An example of this would be when a customer asks simply the time of their flight, we like to make sure that our staff will fully inform our customers of their flight time, boarding time, gate number and if there will be any delays. The Correlation between Down syndrome and Alzheimer s disease Anna Lister Biology Honors, P. 3 Mrs. Creech 25 November 2015 Introduction: Alzheimer s disease (AD) is a disease that slowly and progressively causes memory impairment. It will eventually inhibit abilities, such as language, planning, and perception. AD is prevalent in individuals with Down syndrome (DS), a condition where those affected had acquired three additional chromosome 21 before birth (emedicinehealth, 2014). Michael Rafii, director of the Memory Disorders Clinic at UCSD, says that people with Down syndrome represent the world s largest population of individuals predisposed to getting Alzheimer s disease (Hamilton, 2014). There is no cure for either, and scientists are still lacking the knowledge of a complete story. Beta Amyloid, Plaques, and the Destruction of Nerve Cells: There is a large supply of amyloid plaques in the cells of people with Alzheimer s disease. Amyloid plaques are clustered pieces of protein that build up between nerve cells. They speed up the production of beta amyloid, which are polypeptides of about thirty six to forty three amino acids long (emedicinehealth, 2014; Stanford Medicine, 2013). Amyloid precursor proteins (APP), when split into specific pieces, are producers of beta amyloid. They are found in tissues and organs, such as the brain. In recent years, the rate of serious crimes has increased. The increase of crime is the result of less effective punishment. Dating back to early civilizations, capital punishment, also known as the death penalty, was viewed as an effective punishment. Yet today s society it is viewed as cruel and inhumane. I believe that capital punishment should be executed more often because; the rate of serious crime will decrease, free up prison space, and would serve as the ultimate warning. What is capital punishment? Capital punishment is the lawful way to take a person s life, once convicted of a serious crime, such as first degree murder. Some people agree it is the most appropriate punishment to all vile murder cases (Williams), but others call it cruel and unconstitutional. There are a variety of methods in the death penalty. The method used most would be lethal injections, due to its quickness, effectiveness, and pain less results. My first reason why I believe the death penalty should be executed more often is because it could possibly help the problem of overcrowding in prisons. States such as Texas and California, mainly suffer from this problem due to its vast population and crime rate. Instead of keeping inmates for life in prison, its better to execute the one s with the most serious crimes than to release them or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 39. Machiavelli s Views On Nature Of Good Rule Essay Both Locke and Machiavelli share the philosophy of improving the establishment but their point of views regarding the nature of good rule varies. Machiavelli presents a rather extreme notion of the Prince disregarding individual rights for the benefit of the principality. He justifies these violations of rights, by implementing that it is necessary in order to maintain order and power. Machiavelli s idea of the nature of good rule benefited the society of that specific time period through the means of letting human nature take rule of the principality. Locke on the other hand, argues that people need absolute control over the establishment in order to maintain order and equality. This argument is derived from the concept of the good rule of nature. In a conversation between both men, Locke would achieve the greater argument when it comes the nature of good rule but does not do so without certain restraints. These restraints will be pointed out by Machiavelli and a counter argument will be presented by Locke, which justifies his theories and strengthens his argument regarding the nature of good rule. Machiavelli begins his argument, by justifying an authoritarian governing system by the means of hereditary rule. He believes that people always comply with The Princes rule because they act on love. Machiavelli explains this when he states that, The hereditary prince has less cause and less necessity to offend, hence it happens that he will be more loved (The prince, 3). For ... Yadav Dr. Nidhi Vats M.A. English (Final) Decoding Wolfgang Iser‟s Reading Process Theory through the Text of Mrs Dalloway and Bravely Fought the Queen In the 1960s, the new criticism theory in the American Literary arena focused on the reading of a literary text as an independent form and not to be studied in relation to any context. This gave birth to another theory that began majorly in 1960s and 1970s known as reader response criticism, which also tried to do away with the author‟s role and focused on the reader‟s perception that defined the text‟s subjectivity. In his work The Reading Process A Phenomenological Approach , Wolfgang Iser describes about the reading of a literary work or text as an interaction between the reader and the author. In order to understand a text in a better way and to explore its meaning, Louise Rosenblatt in his work Literature as Exploration described how the readers should be free from any preconceived notions about the proper way to react to any work (Lewis,C.S.,1961) to experience any work or text individually. Similarly, Iser also want the readers to make a niche for themselves while the aesthetic reading of a wok or a text. Wolfgang Iser‟s reading in reference to two works, namely, Mrs Dalloway by Virginia Woolf and Bravely Fought the Queen by Mahesh Dattani has been assessed in order to have a better understanding and a practical approach in exploration or understanding the meaning of the texts.
