Lean Manufacturing Is The Fundamental Means For The...
Introduction
Manufacturing has been perceived as the fundamental means for the development of the economy.
Always showing signs of changing global environment, which has been posturing difficulties of
intensity and survival to every one of the constituents of the economy. Manufacturers everywhere
throughout the world have constantly confronted uplifted difficulties, for example, rising client s
interest for better and enhanced items, fanciful interest, and rivalry in business sectors. There is no
mistrust that the manufacturers are continually grasping changes and enhancements in their key
exercises or procedures to adapt to the steadily developing difficulties.

According to (Homa Sheikh Sajadieh, 2013) Waste elimination is one of the most effective ways to
increase the profitability of any business. Processes either add value or waste to the production of a
good or service. The seven wastes originated in Japan, where waste is known as muda . The seven
wastes is a tool to further categorize muda and was originally developed by Toyota s Chief Engineer
Taiichi Ohno as the core of the Toyota Production System, also known as Lean Manufacturing. To
eliminate waste, it is important to understand exactly what waste is and where it exists. While
products significantly differ between factories, the typical wastes found in manufacturing
environments are quite similar. For each waste, there is a strategy to reduce or eliminate its effect on a
company, thereby improving overall performance and quality .
The seven types of waste are:
1. Waste from overproduction.
2. Waste from waiting times.
3. Waste from transportation and handling.
4. Waste related to useless and excess inventories.
5. Waste in the production process.
6. Useless motions.
7. Waste from scrap and defects.
According to (Okpala, 2014) In Lean Production System, waste (which is referred to as muda in
Japan) is described as anything that destroys resources and does not add any value to the customer s
requirements. This is because manufacturing waste is the application of resources like raw materials,
labor, equipment, or machines over and above what is

Evaluation Of A State Physical Activity Plan
Project Title: Implementation of a state physical activity plan: Realist evaluation of policy
implementation and the need to know what works (and what doesn t)
Problem Statement
While research on physical activity promotion has historically been on the impact of individual level
behavioral interventions, there has been substantial progress in identifying the role of policymaking in
creating population wide improvements (Brownson et al., 2007; Frank Kavage, 2009; Humpel, Owen,
Leslie, 2002). As a result of the increasing evidence of modifying the built environment through
policy interventions (Kahn et al., 2002), the Center of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC),
National Institutes of Health (NIH), and Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS)
recommend these as a means of increasing physical activity in communities. Nevertheless, little is
known about how to quantify levels of policy implementation related to physical activity in order to
understand and appropriately interpret policy outcomes at the state and local levels (Ogilvie et al.,
2010; Sallis, Story, Lou, 2009). A process evaluation of the implementation of a state level physical
activity plan is proposed to improve our understanding of the mechanisms of policy implementation
using a realist evaluation method.
Analytic Framework
The need for evidence related to policy influences regarding physical activity are increasing in
importance as government, communities, and health professionals

Review Of The Little Albert Experiment

John Watson and Classical Conditioning
In psychology, respondent behavior is behavior learned through classical conditioning. This type of
learning is defined as a way in which one learns to link two or more stimuli while also anticipating
events; or other wise, known as a kind of learning that occurs when a conditioned stimulus is paired
with an unconditioned stimulus. While classical conditioning was accidently discovered by Ivan
Pavlov, John B. Watson was interested in taking Pavlov s experiences a bit further. Watson s ultimate
goal was to research how classical conditioning could be seen through humans and not just through
animals. An in depth look on John Watson s actual experiment can be better explained and found in
the article titled, The Little Albert Experiment on
http://psychology.about.com/od/classicpsychologystudies/a/little albert experiment.htm.
John Watson s Contribution
Classical conditioning is identified as the type of learning where the nature of the research conditions
a fear response to the subject being experimented on. An implication of the research for human
behavior involving conditioned fear response would describe how a child might be afraid of storms
because of the partnership between the storm and the sound of the loud thunder. This being said, John
B. Watson wanted to further explain this reasoning of classical conditioning through his own
experiment that many people call The Little

The Impact Of Capital Markets
Capital Markets applies many IT practices to benefit the day to day activity and attempt to combat the
issues that arise regarding their immense volume of work and data, along with their source constraint.
For starters, they implement The OutSystems Platform, a custom PaaS, to develop their enterprise web
and mobile applications. This helps them streamline the process of developing applications and
mobile content while easily editing and altering these applications as well. On top of this, Capital
Markets utilizes data marts to orient their data to specific business lines and teams given their

Mr. Spain and his team also have communicated with the rest of Regions Bank that as more secure
hurricane averse building structures or modifications come out, they will improve their facilities to
ensure their safety and the safety of their company the next time a hurricanes hits one of their major
locations. The importance of having these plans in place for a company as big as Regions Bank
already is the mitigation of negative publicity for their firm. Their business continuity plan and
disaster recovery make certain that Regions Bank and all of its other entities will be ready to deal with
disasters and accidents easily and effectively. Just as mitigating risks can affect the IT practices of a
company, the place where a business stores its data holds major significance in an era in which the
majority of work is done online. A business has two main options: it can store its data in a data center
or in a cloud. A data center is an onsite hardware that stores a business information on a local network.
On the other hand, a cloud is an off site location where a service provider owns and manages
infrastructure with cloud users, accessing slices of shared hardware resources via the Internet . Each of
these options serve different purposes and benefit or disadvantage a company in different ways. For
example, a data center is more suitable for companies that run many applications; however, it has a

People that do not live on the Westside of El Paso may have a hard time navigating to this restaurant
due to low visibility of the sign and small enclosure of the parking lot. There are no other signs visible
on, or near the street prior to arriving to Bella Napoli that will prompt someone to slow down, stop
and make the turn into the parking lot. The parking lot itself is both paved and gravel. It has a slight
downward slope in the direction of the restaurant that could become hazardous in the event of rain.
There are some areas of the parking lot that are uneven and worn that would constitute a hazard, and
that will continue to deteriorate if it is not improved. Other possible deterrents that may cause people
to not come to Bella Napoli are holes in the walls and water damage by the water fountain. From the
parking lot all the way to the courtyard area in front of the entrance, should be re modeled in order to
appeal to a younger crowd. Considering how long Bella Napoli has been open, it appears to that very
few improvements have been made to the exterior of the restaurant. Many restaurants in El Paso,
including Johnny Carino s have transitioned through some type of exterior revitalization plan to
appeal to more generations of, and the diversity of people in El Paso. Interior Atmospherics The

Eisenhower was enormously popular with the American people from the period of his service as
supreme allied commander in Europe in World War II to his death in 1969, but it was long held by

Romanticism In Annie Hall
Annie Hall is a 1977 American romantic comedy film directed by Woody Allen from a screenplay co
written by him and Marshall Brickman. Charles H. Joffe who was Woody Allen s manager at that time
produced the film and the film s director played the leading male, Woody Allen, as Alvy Max Singer,
who is a hostile man who tries to figure out the reasoning for his failure in relationships with the film s
female lead, who is played by Diane Keaton. Annie Hall is not seen as a traditional romantic film, due
to the fact that the stereotype that the viewer has about romantic films are reversed.
Unlike other romantic films Annie Hall starts with the story of the break up and the audience is only
introduced to the beginning of the relationship 25 minutes into the film. They meet at a tennis club and

Blackfoot people had an interesting way of surviving. Both dressed differently, both had contact with

The two tribes both dressed differently, I was actually surprised about because they both lived in the
same time period. For example, the Blackfoot people didn t where as much clothing, and the Inuit
people wore a lot of clothing such as huge winter coats. The Blackfoot people wore more of summer
clothing because the weather was almost always sunny. Also, the Inuit people wore big heavy coats

John Stuart Mill Limitations
Freedom of speech has been a controversial topic for many years. It has not been controversial in the
sense of whether or not countries should have it, but whether or not there should be certain limitations
on free speech. John Stuart Mill believes that the Harm Principle should be the only limitation on free
speech. Raphael Cohen Almagor believes that there should be an extension of the Harm Principle
called the Offence Principle. The problem is finding the limitation between the two of the different
principles. I believe that the Offence Principle is a necessary extension of the Harm Principle, but
there needs to be a line between what is considered offensive and what is not.
John Stuart Mill was an English philosopher who wrote On Liberty. In On Liberty, Mill discusses the
importance and the limitations that should be set on free speech. Mill is more tolerant of free speech
and language rights, but he also believes that there should be limitations on free speech so there is
regulation on the actions of people under free speech (Mill John Stuart, 1975).
Mill stated in On Liberty, But the peculiar evil of silencing the expression of an opinion is that it is

Harm Principle. The Offence Principle would not only cover physical harm, but psychological harm as

Issues Associated with Workplace Diversity
Workplace Diversity refers to the human characteristics that are present in the workplace making
people different from one another. Various human characteristics would include race, gender, age,
certain physical attributes, experience, and personal habits.
Workplace Diversity does not only refer to those groups that have been discriminated against or that
are different from the dominant or privileged groups, but to the mixture of differences, similarities and
tensions that can exist among the elements of a pluralistic mixture.
Sexual Orientation Issues
Sexual orientation is a topic that organisations tend to discount or overlook.
E.g. Janet, a lesbian, started working as a purchasing assistant at a mid sized plumbing supply store.
She got along fine with her co workers, but she felt very uncomfortable about the attitudes of many of
the salespeople, who regularly made jokes about Bob, a co worker who was gay. Janet thought that if
she stood up for him, she also would become a target of their jokes.
Recommendations
1. Include respect for all forms of diversity, even sexual orientation, into the organisation s vision
statement
2. Make a point to include sexual orientation issues in both your diversity awareness programs and
new employee orientation programme.
3. Ask managers to confront prejudiced remarks, jokes and behaviours.
4. Promoting and reinforcing the value of respecting people s beliefs

Resurgence Of Vinyl And Its Effects
Keith Kain COMM 481 12/1/14 Resurgence of Vinyl If one were to mention vinyl records in a
conversation today, they would likely be met with confusion and laughter. Vinyl records, like other
relics from the past, are not often thought of when discussing music listening in 2014. Like cassettes
and CD s, vinyl is frequently viewed as a remnant of a time when paying for music was mandatory
and buying an album meant buying the whole album. However, for some listeners in 2014, this format
is their preferred method of hearing their favorite music. Due to the nature of niche markets, it isn t
very stunning that some collectors still delve into the past and listen on vinyl. However, it is extremely
unusual for a niche market to increase in sales quite like vinyl has. In fact, from 2008 to 2014, vinyl
sales have increased by 745%. In a time when music sales as a whole are dropping, how did vinyl go
from selling less than one million records 20 years ago, to selling 6.1 million in 2013 alone? There are
plenty of factors, including what is selling, who is buying, the tangibility factor, and the antipiracy
counterculture. Vinyl records were one of the main formats to listen to music during most of the 1900
s. Many of those who listened to vinyl in the late 1900 s are still collecting vinyl today, or have passed
down the hobby to their children. Nostalgic collectors will claim that the surface noise and warm
audio quality of vinyl makes it unique and unmatched. However, as new

Economic And Cultural Differences In The British Colonies
The British colonies in America were all settled for the reason of bringing power to the mother
country, but as the years progressed the new states were formed and molded by economical and
cultural differences. Every area settled by the colonists had something completely different in it, as an
example some would have mountain or large areas where fish would conglomerate. Each region
having its own specialties allowed for different economies to arise, economies that would rely on each
other in order to operate efficiently and effectively. The cultures in the different regions varied
immensely, as the settlers for each region all had different beliefs and backgrounds. The question is
thus asked, is the colonies separation into different regions caused by the economics that took place in
each region or the culture that grew because of influences from religion or social backgrounds. The
New England colonies were everything North West of Connecticut, which meant that the climate was
relatively cold all year round compared to the other regions. The soil in New England was poor
compared to the soils of the other regions, but some food was still able to be planted such as rye,
pumpkins, and beans. The settlers of this region were forced to find a more sustainable resource, such
as fish. The New England states were some of the largest producers of fish and ocean products such as
whale oil. These colonies didn t have many natural resources besides fish that they exported, so

The Robust Learning Model (RLM) is comprehensive enough to apply to any degree program and
takes into consideration every possible need in developing an online program. The RLM focuses both
on the student and on effectiveness for the university. RLM also addresses the information technology
component which is vital to the online program. The RLM is so comprehensive that providing every
detail covered by the RLM is impossible in this proposal, but as we proceed on in developing the
program the comprehensiveness of the model will be evident. So encompassing is this model that it is
possible to apply this model to any program or course of interest because it addresses components that
are universal. These components can further be adjusted to match university standards and degree
level. Student and faulty engagement and interaction are encouraged through threaded discussions.
Faculty members are able to extend further avenues for learning and discussions by sharing in these
threaded discussions clearing up any misconceptions and promoting further discussion. Consistency is
the key in this model, which is why it can be applied to any program. Students and faculty will
continue to communicate through a secure platform where students can submit assignments and

Rise Of The Ottoman Analysis
In the Article, The Rise of the Ottoman Turks and Its Historical Background , William L. Langer and
Robert P. Blake precisely discuses to readers the progression of one of the most phenomenal empires
in history, The Ottomans. To go along with that they also speak upon any of its historical backgrounds.
The information that is provided in this article comes from two authors that have worked with history
for multiple years. The first author is William L. Langer; Historian, ex chairman of the history
department at Harvard University, and a specialist in diplomacy. He also has worked on many books
in his past, but mainly dealing with European History. The second author, historian, and also a
professor from Harvard, Robert P. Blake mainly has a past with focusing on the Byzantine Empire. So
they are both very reliable sources when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout this passage both authors, Langer and Blake inform readers about the Ottomans in no
chronological order whatsoever hopping from different dates throughout the article. They start off by
discussing about the rapid progress of Turkish studies during the eighteenth century, which introduces
the multiple chroniclers that had tried to create the chronicles of the Ottoman Empire such as Josef
Von Hammer, Johann Zinkeisen, and a brief more(470 474). Langer and Blake uses the chroniclers as
resources to give different information out about the Ottomans. As information is given from each of
the chroniclers, Langer and Blake tells readers what the strongpoints of all of the popular chroniclers
were on the chronicles of the Ottoman History(470 474). After that, the article slowly progresses to
concrete facts about the Ottoman Empire. These facts consist of how the geography of it was, the
different emperors throughout the empire, the history of the Turks, the economy, the defeats, the
victories, just the overall timeline of the Ottomans. Langer and Blake wrote this article

Why Did Sodastream Fail In Advertising
Scarlett Johansson s Sodastream ad fails on a number of levels in its bid to become a viral marketing

effect of how do I make this go viral? I believe that the use of this statement alone was enough to end
the ads chances of going viral, as nobody feels comfortable sharing a video that doesn t feel genuine in
its attempt at reaching consumers. It similar to one of this generations major problems with
advertisements that fail to feel like anything more than a hollow attempt to sell a product. The other
examples given don t explicitly ask to go viral (with the exception of the second most poorly received
video, Jennifer Anniston s Smartwater), and they all received millions of extra views and feel more
authentic as a result. The message or goal should never feel forced in any advertisement, and
Sodastream certainly failed in that regard. A second issue with this ad is the belief that it had any of
the characteristics to support a viral campaign. The message fails to provide any social value as the
consumer doesn t learn anything new or exciting about the product or the brand, and the ad fails at
giving any chance or reason for engagement. Everyone understands Sodastream and ... Show more

Hiv And The Human Immunodeficiency Virus
HIV (Human immunodeficiency virus) is a lentivirus that results in AIDS (acquired
immunodeficiency syndrome). HIV attacks and destroys CD4 helper lymphocyte cells a specific type
of immune system cell. As a result, the body has a harder time fighting off other infections, making
minor illnesses more severe. The virus will go further to use those CD4 cells to create more of the
virus. Once so many CD4 cells have been destroyed, HIV will become AIDS.
This stage, the final stage, will make the recipient more vulnerable to infections and cancers. HIV
goes through multiple phases until reaching this point, however, the progression of each stage can be
prolonged with ART medication (antiretroviral therapy) or other forms of treatment, ... Show more

Initially, the virus was thought to be connected to homosexuals, and HIV even had multiple names
relating to the word gay . Though bisexual and homosexual men are the most affected, with further
research and additional information, researchers realized HIV was affecting other populations as well.
In September of 1982, the virus was finally named AIDS. In 1983, the HIV virus was isolated,
identified, and soon confirmed as the cause of AIDS.
Now, approximately 36.7 million people in the world are living with HIV, more than 1.2 million of
those people are in the United States. Many of the infected people are not even aware they have
contracted the virus. It is estimated that 80% of the infected experience flu like symptoms shortly after
contracting HIV, however, once those symptoms subside, they may not experience more symptoms for
several years.
Depending on the stage of the virus, different symptoms will occur. The first stage, the acute infection,
is the one in which flu like symptoms begin to occur. They will occur anywhere between two to six
weeks after infection and may last several weeks, or even months. This is caused by the increase of
HIV levels in the blood. CD4 cells begin to quickly decline during this stage, causing the immune
system to kick in, making the CD4 count rise once again, but not back to its original count. During the

circumstances, but if the suspects attempts to flee, hide, tries to destroy evidence, gives evasive
answers, or perhaps he has a record, or his behavior is suspicious or unusual, then that would be
acceptable as well. However, the probable cause would be stronger if there were more of these
examples present in the suspects behavior. In addition to probable cause, the warrant must have an

Non Traditional Student Essay
A non traditional student is defined as a student that has one or more of the following qualities:
delayed enrollment after high school, full time employment, part time college attendance, financial
independence, and/or does not have a high school diploma (Cox 7). The National Center for
Educational Statistics (NCES) estimated in a 1999 report that almost 75 percent of all undergraduates
possessed one or more nontraditional characteristics. However, according to the 2012 studies of
research studies in higher education, just 17 percent of college students are considered traditional
(Harpe and Kaniuka 250). With the overwhelming amount of non traditional undergraduates in
America comes three major challenges: institutional, situational, and dispositional.
The book After Admission highlights institutional challenges as a contributing factor for college
failure among disadvantaged students. Though community college enrollment rates have doubled in
the last thirty years, the level of efficiency of community colleges remains under scrutiny ... Show

Freshly felled timber is the most critical condition because it has high moisture content and
unprotected from biological attacks. Even so, treated wood products are also susceptible to the
biological attacks when exposed to weathering or have cracks that allow the moisture to enter the
wood and consequently will attract biotic agents. These biotic agents can produce spore that
pigmented the wood surfaces or pigmented hyphae that can discolor interior wood, thus reducing the
product values (Morrell, Love, Freitag, 2002). Mold is an example of fungi that discolors the wood

Paul s Letter To Shilemon
The book of Philemon is one of Paul letters that seems to me best describe God mercy for humanity.
As I read the story, it gives me a good perspective of understanding on Paul emphasis on Jesus as our
advocate. I also understand why Jesus has to die as a sacrifice on the cross and the penalty of my sins.
Jesus death is the price that I consider paid to restore my life from being a slave of sins. Paul s letter to
Philemon is a complete picture of the gospel that every Christian believer should learn from and apply
in the community.
According to the historical background of the book of Philemon, Paul wrote this letter approximately
A.D.60 when Paul s first imprisonment in Rome. It was probably the time Paul wrote the letters to the

For instance, in Philemon 7, Paul spoke of the way Philemon had lovingly refreshed the hearts of
other believers. Paul thought so highly of Philemon that in verse 17 he talked about Philemon as his
partner in gospel ministry. And it may even be that in verse 2 Paul identified Philemon as the host of
the local church. According to verse 19, Philemon seems to have had a significant history with Paul
that formed a strong bond between them. In all likelihood, Paul meant that he had brought Philemon to
faith, although it is also possible that he had saved Philemon s life in some other way. But whatever
the case, Philemon owed Paul a high debt. We can also see the strength of their relationship in
Philemon s prayers for Paul s release from prison, and in Paul s plan to lodge with Philemon after
being released from prison. We read Paul s words to this effect in Philemon 22: Prepare a guest room
for me, because I hope to be restored to you in answer to your prayers (Philemon 22).
Paul addressed the matter in the letter with kindness and a humble attitude. Paul s attitude and the
respect that he has for Onesimus allowed him to consider Onesimus as a spiritual son rather than a
slave. Paul and Onesimus relationship is to me a setting example for the church. It illustrates how
Christian believers should live in a community and help each other without any

Peaceful Resistance In America
Peaceful resistance positively impacts a free society, particularly in a Democracy such as the United
States. Abraham Lincoln famously described our national foundation as a government of the people,
by the people, for the people , and for such a statement to be true, it is necessary that voices of US
citizens be heard.
The right to peaceful resistance in America can be tied back to our nation s true beginning: The
Declaration of Independence. The document proclaims that it is the Right of the people to alter or
abolish a government in order to create a safer and more secure system (Mirkin 64). With this
ideology in mind, our forefathers crafted the Constitution, and created the Bill of Rights to establish

In an essay of no less than 750 words, select an element of technology that you believe has

In the last twenty years, the internet has been much the foundation for all technological advances. It
has served as the basis of how humans and devices communicate with each other, and it has allowed
for the proliferation of converging and emerging technologies. Specifically, the security industry has
benefited from the creation of network products thus eliminating the need for human resources. As
inter connectivity is rapidly expanding and evolving, so to are emerging technological trends and their
applicability to the security industry. As it applies to the revolution of cyber technology, the security
industry may choose to view this element through three lenses internet of things (IoT), social

A book and a play, both are extremely widely read and interpreted in countless different ways. These
two are thought to be prime examples of American Literature. Arthur Miller was born on October 17,

July 4, 1804, and his book, The Scarlet Letter, came out to print in March of 1850. These two types of
literature were published roughly 100 years apart, so there are minute changes in the way they were
written. Both are set in early 1700 s Massachusetts, but The Crucible is in Salem, and The Scarlet
Letter is set in Boston. There are many similarities and differences between the two, the biggest three

Primarily the male protagonists in both stories are the ones who feel the most guilty. The woman feel
guilty too, but this is where is seperates a little, In The Crucible, Abigail would never want her good
name to be damaged from people knowing that she is a adulterer, but in The Scarlet Letter, Hester
feels guilty for the first few years, but then gets used to the feeling, both the feeling of being an
outcast and being guilty. John Proctor feels ashamed that he has done such a thing with another
woman who he is not lawfully wed to, so he turns away from Abigail and towards his wife. He knows
he has done a wrong, and it is over now, but he still does not want anyone to know about it.
Dimmesdale is a priest in Boston, and that is extremely bad because he committed adultery with a

Is It Possible to Restore a Balance between the...
Recently everyone has started hearing the out cry surrounding the problem of the degradationof the
worlds ecosystems that have a negative effect on the biodiversity and the livelihoods of people
worldwide. People are beginning to realise that that these bio systems can not be conserved just
through the protection of critical areas alone.
A new solution whos potential hasn t been fully taken advantage of until now is ecological restoration
which is a process whereby not only the recovery of eco systems that have been degraded damaged or
destroyed are looked at but also the human influences that surround them.
In order for ecological restoration to be effective it needs to pay attention to four main aspects namely:
Improvement of biodiversity conservation,
Improvement of the livelihoods of people,
The empowerment of the native and local people and
The improvement of the productivity of the ecosystems.
The difference between typical conservation where only the environment is considered and ecological
restoration is that it has the potential to make opportunities available not only to repair the damage
done to the ecosystems but also to improve the condition of the people involved in rescuing it.
Because people belive they are helping themselfs ecological restoration has been able to alter the
perspective of people in the local community, allowing new economic opportunities to form aswel as

the way the food looks will define if the child will eat it or not. Cooke Wardle found that girls select

The Financial Crisis Of 2008 Hit The American Economy
The financial crisis of 2008 hit the American economy and the world economy as well. It cost tens of
millions of people their savings, jobs, and their homes. For decades the American financial system
was stable and safe, but it changed. The financial industry turned its back on society; it corrupted the
political system, and plunged the world economy into crisis. It was not an accident; it was caused by
an out of control industry, a greedy industry. The crisis has made more damage to society while the
industry has made more money. The residential mortgage crisis affected commercial real estate by
making credit much more difficult to get. Real estate investment has been driven by leverage. One of
the great things about real estate investment is that you do not need just cash to do it. The possible
investors are either reluctant to acquire and develop real estate without the need of debt. As a result,
the demand for real estate slowed and prices fell down. To understand better how everything started,
let s mention the great depression. After the Great Depression, the United States had forty years of
economic growth without a single financial crisis. The financial system was regulated, and most of the
banks were local. They were prohibited from speculating depositor s savings. Investments banks were

First I ran over to my neighbors for one last Goodbye! Then out of the blue the moving truck was all

that was the last time I will ever see that house again. A move from LA to Chicago is a giant move.

used in Chinese Medicine for thousands of years. It is made from the root of P. lactiflora after boiling
in water and peeling off the bark (China Pharmacopoeia Committee, 2010). Its constituents have been
recognized as valuable traditional herbal medicines used for the treatment of diseases with a long
history in TCM (Fang et al., 2009). Empirical evidence suggests that various peony root preparations

According to (Homa Sheikh Sajadieh, 2013) Waste elimination is one of the most effective ways to increase the profitability of any business. Processes either add value or waste to the production of a good or service. The seven wastes originated in Japan, where waste is known as muda . The seven wastes is a tool to further categorize muda and was originally developed by Toyota s Chief Engineer Taiichi Ohno as the core of the Toyota Production System, also known as Lean Manufacturing. To eliminate waste, it is important to understand exactly what waste is and where it exists. While products significantly differ between factories, the typical wastes found in manufacturing environments are quite similar. For each waste, there is a strategy to reduce or eliminate its effect on a company, thereby improving overall performance and quality . The seven types of waste are: 1. Waste from overproduction. 2. Waste from waiting times. 3. Waste from transportation and handling. 4. Waste related to useless and excess inventories. 5. Waste in the production process. 6. Useless motions. 7. Waste from scrap and defects. According to (Okpala, 2014) In Lean Production System, waste (which is referred to as muda in Japan) is described as anything that destroys resources and does not add any value to the customer s requirements. • 3. Evaluation Of A State Physical Activity Plan Project Title: Implementation of a state physical activity plan: Realist evaluation of policy implementation and the need to know what works (and what doesn t) Problem Statement While research on physical activity promotion has historically been on the impact of individual level behavioral interventions, there has been substantial progress in identifying the role of policymaking in creating population wide improvements (Brownson et al., 2007; Frank Kavage, 2009; Humpel, Owen, Leslie, 2002). As a result of the increasing evidence of modifying the built environment through policy interventions (Kahn et al., 2002), the Center of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Institutes of Health (NIH), and Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) recommend these as a means of increasing physical activity in communities. Nevertheless, little is known about how to quantify levels of policy implementation related to physical activity in order to understand and appropriately interpret policy outcomes at the state and local levels (Ogilvie et al., 2010; Sallis, Story, Lou, 2009). A process evaluation of the implementation of a state level physical activity plan is proposed to improve our understanding of the mechanisms of policy implementation using a realist evaluation method. • 4. Review Of The Little Albert Experiment Madison Berry October 30, 2014 Section #2 NetID: meberry John Watson and Classical Conditioning In psychology, respondent behavior is behavior learned through classical conditioning. This type of learning is defined as a way in which one learns to link two or more stimuli while also anticipating events; or other wise, known as a kind of learning that occurs when a conditioned stimulus is paired with an unconditioned stimulus. While classical conditioning was accidently discovered by Ivan Pavlov, John B. Watson was interested in taking Pavlov s experiences a bit further. Watson s ultimate goal was to research how classical conditioning could be seen through humans and not just through animals. It has not been controversial in the sense of whether or not countries should have it, but whether or not there should be certain limitations on free speech. John Stuart Mill believes that the Harm Principle should be the only limitation on free speech. Raphael Cohen Almagor believes that there should be an extension of the Harm Principle called the Offence Principle. The problem is finding the limitation between the two of the different principles. I believe that the Offence Principle is a necessary extension of the Harm Principle, but there needs to be a line between what is considered offensive and what is not. John Stuart Mill was an English philosopher who wrote On Liberty. In On Liberty, Mill discusses the importance and the limitations that should be set on free speech. Mill is more tolerant of free speech and language rights, but he also believes that there should be limitations on free speech so there is regulation on the actions of people under free speech (Mill John Stuart, 1975). Various human characteristics would include race, gender, age, certain physical attributes, experience, and personal habits. Workplace Diversity does not only refer to those groups that have been discriminated against or that are different from the dominant or privileged groups, but to the mixture of differences, similarities and tensions that can exist among the elements of a pluralistic mixture. Sexual Orientation Issues Sexual orientation is a topic that organisations tend to discount or overlook. E.g. Janet, a lesbian, started working as a purchasing assistant at a mid sized plumbing supply store. She got along fine with her co workers, but she felt very uncomfortable about the attitudes of many of the salespeople, who regularly made jokes about Bob, a co worker who was gay. Janet thought that if she stood up for him, she also would become a target of their jokes. Recommendations 1. Include respect for all forms of diversity, even sexual orientation, into the organisation s vision statement 2. Make a point to include sexual orientation issues in both your diversity awareness programs and new employee orientation programme. 3. Resurgence Of Vinyl And Its Effects Keith Kain COMM 481 12/1/14 Resurgence of Vinyl If one were to mention vinyl records in a conversation today, they would likely be met with confusion and laughter. Vinyl records, like other relics from the past, are not often thought of when discussing music listening in 2014. Like cassettes and CD s, vinyl is frequently viewed as a remnant of a time when paying for music was mandatory and buying an album meant buying the whole album. However, for some listeners in 2014, this format is their preferred method of hearing their favorite music. Due to the nature of niche markets, it isn t very stunning that some collectors still delve into the past and listen on vinyl. However, it is extremely unusual for a niche market to increase in sales quite like vinyl has. In fact, from 2008 to 2014, vinyl sales have increased by 745%. In a time when music sales as a whole are dropping, how did vinyl go from selling less than one million records 20 years ago, to selling 6.1 million in 2013 alone? There are plenty of factors, including what is selling, who is buying, the tangibility factor, and the antipiracy counterculture. Vinyl records were one of the main formats to listen to music during most of the 1900 s. Many of those who listened to vinyl in the late 1900 s are still collecting vinyl today, or have passed down the hobby to their children. Nostalgic collectors will claim that the surface noise and warm audio quality of vinyl makes it unique and unmatched. However, as new ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Each region having its own specialties allowed for different economies to arise, economies that would rely on each other in order to operate efficiently and effectively. The cultures in the different regions varied immensely, as the settlers for each region all had different beliefs and backgrounds. The question is thus asked, is the colonies separation into different regions caused by the economics that took place in each region or the culture that grew because of influences from religion or social backgrounds. The New England colonies were everything North West of Connecticut, which meant that the climate was relatively cold all year round compared to the other regions. The soil in New England was poor compared to the soils of the other regions, but some food was still able to be planted such as rye, pumpkins, and beans. Obviously this depends on the circumstances, but if the suspects attempts to flee, hide, tries to destroy evidence, gives evasive answers, or perhaps he has a record, or his behavior is suspicious or unusual, then that would be acceptable as well. Non Traditional Student Essay A non traditional student is defined as a student that has one or more of the following qualities: delayed enrollment after high school, full time employment, part time college attendance, financial independence, and/or does not have a high school diploma (Cox 7). However, according to the 2012 studies of research studies in higher education, just 17 percent of college students are considered traditional (Harpe and Kaniuka 250). With the overwhelming amount of non traditional undergraduates in America comes three major challenges: institutional, situational, and dispositional. As I read the story, it gives me a good perspective of understanding on Paul emphasis on Jesus as our advocate. I also understand why Jesus has to die as a sacrifice on the cross and the penalty of my sins. Jesus death is the price that I consider paid to restore my life from being a slave of sins. Paul s letter to Philemon is a complete picture of the gospel that every Christian believer should learn from and apply in the community. And it may even be that in verse 2 Paul identified Philemon as the host of the local church. According to verse 19, Philemon seems to have had a significant history with Paul that formed a strong bond between them. In all likelihood, Paul meant that he had brought Philemon to faith, although it is also possible that he had saved Philemon s life in some other way. But whatever the case, Philemon owed Paul a high debt. We can also see the strength of their relationship in Philemon s prayers for Paul s release from prison, and in Paul s plan to lodge with Philemon after being released from prison. We read Paul s words to this effect in Philemon 22: Prepare a guest room for me, because I hope to be restored to you in answer to your prayers (Philemon 22). Paul addressed the matter in the letter with kindness and a humble attitude. Paul s attitude and the respect that he has for Onesimus allowed him to consider Onesimus as a spiritual son rather than a slave.
