Civil Liberties vs National Security

In U.S., the bill of rights protects civil liberties. People in the United States, hold civil rights, which
are those privileges, immunities and rights held by all Americans and political rights, which are the
rights that are restricted to those who are entitled to participate in elections, as candidates or voters.
The distinction is important since not all are eligible to vote though they all should enjoy their
freedoms. This may no longer be feasible as majority of the civil rights are taken to include the
political rghts in this age.
National security can be defined as a country s need to maintain its survival by use of military,
political and economic power for diplomacy. Civil liberty are freedoms ... Show more content on

The F.B.I, has significant legal powers, excellent resources, and a jurisdiction that has overseas
coverage. They have in recent years penetrated and prosecuted many organized criminal gangs,
uncovered public corruption and successfully caught up with terror attacks. Still the same F.B.I has
curtailed the basic freedoms of association, speech e.t.c The bureau while protecting their national
security freedoms has infringed the human rights by disrupting and neutralizing peaceful protests. It
has more so focused its resources on neutralizing and curbing political activity other than investigate
criminal activities. The force, does not have accountability to the the public while incriminates on the
basis of association instead of relying hard facts and evidence to get hold of the real criminals.
The adoption of legislation such as the Anti terrorism Act (1996), is a good indicator of past injustices
and the unrestricted investigations by the bureau based on political agendas. The Act s deliberate
criminalization of peaceful activity gave the F.B.I. leverage to involve itself in the religious, ethnic
and political grouping involving themselves in peaceful and humanitarian work. Afterwards, it grew to
encourage politically motivated investigations. The deportation and exclusion of immigrants on the

Exploratory Paper
Before beginning the quantitative research report, we had to had complete an exploratory research
report. This was necessary as it allowed us to see trends in relation to healthy eating. The exploratory
research mainly consisted of qualitative questions as we wanted to see if there was any relationship
between a cupcake and a chicken and spinach sandwich. After analyzing the results of the survey, we
were able to get a better insight of the perceptions and preferences that consumers have when it comes
to eating and purchasing healthy food.
Some of the more interesting things that we gained from reviewing the survey results was that
consumers would rather eat a chicken and spinach sandwich over a cupcake. The main reasons for this
was that a chicken and spinach sandwich would not only count as a proper meal but it s also a
healthier option than the cupcake. Another interesting thing that we found was that consumers feel as
though it is more expensive to eat healthy than it is to eat unhealthy. In the end, the most interesting
thing that we found from the survey was that consumers were divided on the fact that organic food
was a healthier option as compared to non organic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Due to the fact that consumers had mixed opinions on the healthiness of organic food, we decided that
creating a quantitative research survey would serve as a good opportunity to find more information on
this topic. Our hypothesis was that organic food is perceived as a healthier option when comparing it
non organic food, indicating that consumers are willing to pay more organic products. Ultimately, our
research question and hypothesis relates to healthy eating as it illustrates how some consumers feel
eating organic food is heathier, while some consumers feel that eating organic food isn t any healthier

Difference Between Phonology And Phonemic Awareness
The terms phonological awareness and phonemic awareness are used interchangeably .Phonological
awareness represents a range of manipulation and detection skills across different sizes of sound
pieces. Phonemic awareness, however, specifically refers to the ability to manipulate and detect the
smallest sound pieces in words (the phonemes). It refers to the ability to manipulate the phonemic
structure of an utterance independently from its meaning. It is the awareness that words are composed
of smaller units, that alliteration is when words begin with the same sound segment, and that rhyming
is caused by words ending with the same sound segment. Therefore, it refers to the auditory task of
identifying, distinguishing between, and working with an utterance at the level of larger units such as
words, and syllables, or at the level of smaller units, such as phonemes. It also includes awareness of
speech sounds at all levels including word, syllable, onset rime or phoneme. Phonemic awareness is
an advanced stage of phonological awareness, defined as the ability to recognize that a spoken word
consists of a sequence of phonemes. It is the capacity to isolate word segments, such as ... Show more

Phonemic awareness is an understanding of spoken language. Phonological awareness entails
understanding of spoken language and involves tasks such as rhyming words; comparing initial
sounds; determining the number of phonemes in a word; identifying two sections in a compound word
and separating syllables. Phonemic awareness includes tasks of individual phonemes or within words
such as blending, deleting, substituting and moving. Townend (2000) clarifies that phonological
awareness is the accurate perception of all the individual sounds, or phonemes, within a spoken word.
It also includes the perception of relationships between sounds, such as

Different Type of Budgeting Technique
Budgeting lies at the foundation of every financial plan. It doesn t matter if you re living paycheck to
paycheck or earning six figures a year, you need to know where your money is going if you want to
have a handle on your finances. Unlike what you might believe, budgeting isn t all about restricting
what you spend money on and cutting out all the fun in your life. It s really about understanding how
much money you have, where it goes, and then planning how to best allocate those funds. Here s
everything you need to help you create a budget using different approach.
(a)Incremental Budgeting
This is where the current budget and actual figures act as the starting point or base for the new budget.
The base is adjusted for forecast changes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In other words Managers might have overestimated their requirements in the past in order to obtain a
forecast which is easier to work towards, and which will allow them to achieve favorable results. *
Does not account for change This method is based on the idea that expenses will run pretty much as
they did before. However, in business, this is rarely the case. There are always variables. * No
incentives Such a simple method of budgeting really does not provide your employees with much
reason to be creative. They have no incentive to innovate and come up with new ideas or policies.
When a budget allows a little extra room for innovation, you might find that your employees come up
with something great. * Use it or lose it Many employees view this as a use it or lose it system. They
know that next year s budget is going to be incrementally based on this year s. Therefore, if they do
not spend everything that is allocated to them, they may not have enough money to work with next
year. This creates an environment where waste is encouraged.
(b)Zero Based Budgeting this method was briefly popular during the 1970s but didn t quite make it as
a widely held practice. Yet in today s current business set up, the method is being revived and regarded
as the better approach.
ZBB starts off with practically nothing on which to base

Emergency Medical Technician Program Essay
Regarding the Emergency Medical Technician program, we announced changes at EMC. The change
included the need for an additional day of training (from three to four days) peer EMT refresher. This
change affects the plan in place that stated a member would be able to perform a UTA reschedule on a
Sunday following the refresher provided it was the same quarter. The effort was made to minimize the
staffing effect on Saturday clinic. However, even with the success of the past couple of cycles, this
change is out of our hands.
The issue was addressed during the past UTA training meeting. On the table included...
1. Looking into making the two days or all four as AT
2. Reschedule a Sunday on the front and on the back end of the Apr or Aug dates
3. Reschedule a two day UTA and support the clinic with CCATT and ancillary agents
After discussing the options, to ensure legality, with TSgt Edwards. I would like to make my
recommendation and provide reasoning. Each 4N0XX member is required to maintain one EMT
refresher per two year cycle. EMT refresher does not count towards CEUs the first time taken, but a
member may sit in a session after and earn CEU credit. That means a near even split of 30 40
members needing the refresher per year. Further thinning those numbers across two sessions mean
approximately 15 members each. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This year the cycle is tied to the Mar super UTA and the May MEDBEACH UTA. In order to achieve
training and fit the guidelines of AFI 36 2254 we would have members attending refresher in Apr to
reschedule Jun UTA and Aug reschedule Sep. This enables the member to attend all training available
as well as stay within the quarter window. One added consideration pointed out by TSgt Edwards is
any member with a prior excusal 40A may be converted to EQT status for the

The Between Female And Female Roles
Psychologically defined, the term androgyny is used to describe and individual that presents both male
and female traits equally and simultaneously. Whilst this individual is assigned one biological gender
at birth, their own personal gender identity does not fit neatly into either the male or the female gender
role of their society.
In many mainstream religions, God s and Goddesses, posses one gender and a male and female
distinct and separate beings, yet there is a long standing history of androgyny in mystical writings; that
is to say the assertion that male and female qualities were originally contained within one body. The
term androgyny is given its roots within Greek mythology. The major underlying assumption of both
male and female sex roles is that an individual may act in either traditionally male or female roles,
depending solely on the situation and needs of that given situation. According to Swain, D. In
patriarchal societies men and masculinity have always been held in higher esteem to women and
femininity. Men have always held a superior status and position in these societies. This can arguable
be traced back to Aristotle who concluded that due to a males genitals being on the outside of the
body, this made him hot and dry and to be hot and dry was to be superior. Women within these
societies are often seen as lowers and not considered worthy or higher status jobs considered weak and
lowered to childcare and domestic services.
That said some cultures have

usually meaning to be free from illness, injury or pain (as in good health or healthy ) whiles a disease

There are two basic kinds of medication for treating asthma:
Control drugs to prevent attacks
Quick relief (rescue) drugs for use during attacks
Each type is described in more detail below.
Long term control drugs for asthma are used to prevent symptoms in people with moderate to severe
asthma. You must take them every day for them to work. Take them even when you feel okay.
Inhaled steroids prevent symptoms by preventing airway swelling. These work very well and are
almost always the first choice.
Long acting beta agonist inhalers also help prevent asthma symptoms. These drugs should be used
together with an inhaled steroid drug. It may be easier to use an inhaler that contains both drugs.
Other control drugs that may be used are:
Leukotriene inhibitors (such as Singulair and Accolate)
Omalizumab (Xolair)
Cromolyn sodium (Intal) or nedocromil sodium (Tilade)

US Counterintelligence Threats
Outlook There are many forces which have shaped the development of the US counterintelligence
strategy over the years. These forces run the spectrum from emotion to computers to new threats not
thought of even 30 years ago. The United States has been conducting counterintelligence operations
for as long as it has had a means of conducting intelligence operations. George Washington
understood the importance of conducting counterintelligence operations. He created the Culper Spy

role considering today s threats.

Ohio Prison Health Care Case Study
Ohio Prison Health Care Suit The Ohio Justice and Policy center documented a claim in 2003 for
three prisoner s Rodney Fussell, Gary Roberts, and James Love. The prisoners stated that they
obtained incompetent medical care. Although some may argue, they are prisoners and do not deserve
medical care, they still have the legal right to obtain it. These three men suffered from Hepatitis C, and
periodontal disease.
An Overview
Rodney Fussell was an inmate at Southern Ohio Correctional Facility, who suffered with Hepatitis C.
According to Hep C Hope, Hepatitis C is a contagious liver disease that can lead to serious problems
including cirrhosis and liver cancer. To be treated, it is necessary to be prescribed medication, before
the disease is too progressed. Rodney Fussell was told that he contained a high level of liver enzymes
for a long period, but had not received diagnosis until five years later. When Fussell realized that he
tested positive for Hep C, he asked to be transported to a clinic to receive a consultation, which the
prison denied. Gary Roberts was an inmate who was housed at London Correctional Institution, in
Ohio. Like Mr. Fussell, Roberts also suffered with Hepatitis C. Similarly, to Mr. Fussell, he also had a
high level of liver enzymes, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

disease is an inflammatory disease that affects the soft and hard structures that support the teeth.
Because the correctional facility was short staffed, Mr. Love had to wait twenty seven months before
having his teeth cleaned and examined. Since he did not receive prompt treatment, Mr. Love had
several teeth that were estimated to fall out. When he finally had, his teen cleaned, there was so much
tartar build up, that he was scheduled for another appointment two months later. Love faced many
issues with his teeth, and occupied unfilled

Designing Your Garden Is Most Likely A Personal Statement...
Designing your garden is most likely a personal statement of style. What one person likes may not be
what another likes. For instance, some people like their gardens to be neat and tidy, while others love
the adventure of winding paths and exotic plants. Formal, semi formal, and informal are the three
variations on the style for a garden. To properly design your garden, however, you will need to have
the basic Garden tools, and perhaps a few extras depending on the look you are going for. You can
choose to design your garden to mimic the design of your home, or it does not have to be related to
your home whatsoever. It is all about personal choice.
Some people are born with the innate ability to transform space into something that is very pleasing to
the eyes; whereas others are not and may not have the first idea about how they should go about
designing their outdoor space. To create a great outdoor space, you must manage the space well and
remember that people will be moving around in the space. In other words, creating great patterns and
utilizing the space within the pattern is vital. By utilizing geometrical patterns, your garden will
achieve a unified feel about it. Which way would you like your patron to move about in your garden?
You can achieve your ground pattern by using bricks or paving material. To achieve this you will need
to have the appropriate garden tools on hand before you begin so that you do not have to stop in the
middle of your project. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Othello Nobility Analysis
The Inability of the Nobility
Nobility does not necessarily translate into strength and virtue, as seen many times again throughout
history. This lack of nobility is found within William Shakespeare s play Tragedy of Othello, which
follows the life of Othello, a Venetian Moor that has earned his place in society through his acts of
valor in battle. Othello wins the love of Desdemona, who is the daughter of a Venetian elite and is also
lusted after by a nobleman named Roderigo. Roderigo follows them around throughout the play and
tries to use Othello s inner circle to gain her love. He is a nobleman who has a lot of power within
their society. Although Roderigo is viewed by himself and others as noble in Aristotelian Society, his
attempts to buy Desdemona s love and his lack of moral conscience demonstrate that his birth into
nobility does not make him an honorable person, shown through his insecurities and regrettable tone
as he dies.
Roderigo uses his wealth to try and control Iago and to buy Desdemona s love in order to hide his own
insecurities. This is shown when Roderigo confronts Iago about the money he has been giving him to
try and pay for Desdemona s love but it fails. Iago intends to keep extorting Roderigo for his money,
even though Roderigo says it belongs to Iago, as if the strings were thine . Iago apologizes for failing
Roderigo, and Roderigo repents on his accusations towards him. If ever I did dream of such a matter,

Hadji Murad Symbolism
In Hadji Murad, Leo Tolstoy employs symbolism to great effect, especially when it comes to the
parallels between a Tartar thistle and the title character, Hadji Murad. The narrator describes the Tartar
thistle he finds growing in a ditch at the beginning and the end of story, and the thistle becomes a
significant symbol in two ways. The first is that it represents the life of Murad. The second is that the
thistle mirrors the death of Murad. The thistle s ability to represent both the life and death Murad
makes it a vital usage of symbolism in telling the story of Murad. One reason the Tartar thistle is
important to Hadji Murad is that it represents Murad s life. Readers are able to establish this through
several different references. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This can be seen when the narrator has difficulty trying to pick the thistle from the ditch, describing
his experience as, Not only did the stalk prick on every side even through the handkerchief I wrapped
round my hand but it was so tough that I had to struggle with it for nearly five minutes, breaking the
fibres one by one; and when I had at last plucked it, the stalk was all frayed, and the flower itself no
longer seemed so fresh and beautiful (Tolstoy 20). The narrator s struggle to take the thistle represents
the battle by the Russians to capture Murad after he escapes to help his family. Throughout the fight
Murad was shot multiple times, but he continued to fight and take down the Russians, much like the
thistle losing its fibres as it continues to prick the narrator s hand. Finally Murad is felled by the
Russians who hack at his body and finally decapitate him. Murad, like the thistle is no longer fresh
and beautiful (Tolstoy 273 289). Another indication that the thistle represents Murad s death is its
color, which is crimson (Tolstoy 20). The color is seen again when Murad is beheaded and the blood
pouring from him is also described as crimson (289). Then there is the narrator s line, I felt sorry to
have vainly destroyed a flower that looked beautiful in its proper place, and I threw it away (Tolstoy
20). This attitude is reflected when Mary Dmítrievna expresses her

what can we expect then?
NB IoT could be the long term goal, but we don t know for sure. What we have until that arrives is Cat

The difference between Cat M / NB IoT and Cat 1 is in the power consumption and cost. Nevertheless
Cat 1 is not where it needs to be. It is the interim solution until we get to Cat M / NB IoT. When will
these actually arrive? Cat M is scheduled to be commercially available in 2017, while NB IoT is

Ultimately it won t be a single race of course, and there won t be a single winner. NB IoT or whatever

Cinderella, By Campbell Grant, The Grimm Brothers, And A...
According to Stepfamily.org, 1,300 new stepfamilies are formed every day . The statistics provide a
reasoning that society is intertwined with the idea of stepfamilies. The concept of a stepfamily is
presented in an evil villainous form in the three short stories of Cinderella adapted by Campbell Grant,
the Grimm brothers, and a unique version called Yeh Hsien. The historical evidence is produced that
even though the concept of a stepfamily in society may be normal, it can be viewed as a wicked
quality of society through the ages. The stepfamilies are seen as hateful villains and share a similar
amount of qualities amongst themselves. In the three adaptations of Cinderella, the common traits
throughout the ages for the villains are power, violence, jealousy, and payback. In the three different
revisions of Cinderella, they each have different settings and are written by different authors. All three
stories involve a young girl who has been treated horribly by her step sisters and most importantly her
step mother. The Disney adaption has the most child friendly version of Cinderella and is the less
violent version as well. The basis of the story is a young girl meets her fairy godmother who
transforms her world to give her a chance to encounter a prince. Later, as she is leaving because she
has to be home by midnight her slipper comes off, but the prince finds it and makes her try it on and
they live their life happily ever after. In the version by the Grimm brothers,

Contamination of Drinking-Water by Arsenic in Bangladesh
Introduction: There are metal substances which have mixed up with the river water of Bangladesh.
The substance is known as Arsenic in Bangladesh. It was first found in the West Bengal ten years ago
(1995 96). Arsenic is both toxic and carcinogenic. It is in inorganic forms, dissolved in drinking water
which is the most significant forms of natural exposure. Organic forms of arsenic that may be present
in food are much less toxic to humans. Clinical manifestations of arsenic poisoning begin with various
forms of skin diseases, which lead to damage of internal organs, ultimately to cancer and death. Cause

Systems using LS may require secondary treatment to meet that goal. Activated Alumina (AA) is
effective in treating water with high total dissolved solids (TDS). However, selenium, fluoride,
chloride, and sulfate, if present at high levels, may compete for adsorption sites. AA is highly selective
towards As(V); and this strong attraction results in regeneration problems, possibly resulting in 5 to 10
percent loss of adsorptive capacity for each run. Application of point of use treatment devices would
need to consider regeneration and replacement. Ion Exchange (IE) can effectively remove arsenic.
However, sulfate, TDS, selenium, fluoride, and nitrate compete with arsenic and can affect run length.
Passage through a series of columns could improve removal and decrease regeneration frequency.
Suspended solids and precipitated iron can cause clogging of the IE bed. Systems containing high
levels of these constituents may require pretreatment. Reverse Osmosis (RO) provided removal
efficiencies of greater than 95 percent when operating pressure is at ideal psi. If RO is used by small
systems in the western U. S. , 60% water recovery will lead to an increased need for raw water. The
water recovery is the volume of water produced by the process divided by the influent stream (product
water/influent stream). Discharge of reject water or brine may also be a concern. If RO is used by
small systems in the western U. S. , water

Causes Of Autism Spectrum Disorder
Autism Spectrum Disorder is a range of predicaments identified by challenges with social skills,
repetitive behaviour, speech and non verbal communication. Signs of this disorder usually come to the
parents attention during the first two years of the child s life. Although in some cases children reach
their developmental milestones at a normal pace and then start to relapse, most often these signs
develop gradually. The diagnostic criteria require that these symptoms become apparent in early
childhood, generally before age three. Autism is formed due to a mixture of genetic and environmental
factors. In some circumstances Autism is associated with certain diseases gained during pregnancy by
making use of drugs and alcohol or by receiving infections

Transcontinental Railroad Dbq Essay
Similar to the light bulb s legacy of ideas, the transcontinental railroad paved the way for new
transportation. The transcontinental railroad act is the first step in creating a continental common
market. This quote by, Charles R. Morris, defines the wide spread uprising in the American Economy
after establishing a railroad that would last a lifetime. The Transcontinental Railroad economically
transformed America because of the trade and commerce it brought. Now capable of fast
communication, we could quickly and cheaply of transport goods and ourselves. t s wide impact
developed a independent country were we could efficiently practice a free enterprise. Bringing in
trade, shipping and new exports/imports, it elevated our economy to a higher level of technology.
Once railroads were built, shipping by them became increasingly popular. Shipping domestically
became cheaper and quicker, which elevated the U.S. economy. In Document E, the cost to ship by
wagon is recorded to be twenty times the cost by railroad. Furthermore, the article describes wagon
shipping was $1.77, while by rail it was less than a tenth of that amount. Before the invention of the
Transcontinental Railroad, trade was limited to wagons being driven for days on end. Few people

Who had the more difficult choice? This question is very dependant on two important key factors. The

reading peice Good Guys Always Win was much more juvenile and light minded, while Cover ups
had a contrasting, darker tone. The biggest conflict verbally noted in Good Guys Always Win was him
turning down money, a cute girl, and avoiding a bully who really all just wanted one small thing, with
lighthearted, exaggerated jokes made throughout, setting up a much friendlier tune, which diminishes

Contemplate any times you had to keep a secret, keeping something hidden that you knew would have
a negative outcome if release, despite the constant tugging at the back of your mind to tell someone,
and then multiply that feeling by a few hundred. Then span it over a decade. That is close to the pain
that this secret had most likely been putting Mrs. Kittredge through. However, this doesn t mean I
believe that this was the best decision to make. Keeping a story with effects that great from a child

anxious arriving home, and that was just the anxiety of making the decision of telling them, and

Sexual Assault And Rape During The Civil War
Not only is sexual assault an ongoing issue in society, but there has also been a huge up rise of sexual
assaults in the United States military. Recently women have been given the approval to fight on the
front line in the Special Forces career field that was once male only career fields. For women, this
may be a huge achievement; there are so many risks and fears involved, I would be curious to see how
things turn out. Sexual assault and rape have been major issues in the military that is constantly looked
at by Congress for improvements.
Presently women are sacrificing their lives serving this country in all branches of the military in the
United States. Women are more involved in combat situations since the war began in Afghanistan and
Iraq. With the increase of women in the military came the increase of sexual violence. In the
beginning, very few reports of sexual violence were reported; over time the number of reported cases
became a huge issue that brought awareness to those that work with the President of the United States.
At that moment, processes were being looked at; changes needed to be made to find ways to give
confidence to victims, to feel safe enough to report the crime of sexual violence. The Department of
Defense is currently working on measures to alleviate the problem. Sex crimes on women in the
military can have intense effects on their mental, physical and emotional well being. Sexual

Examples Of Christianity In Frankenstein s Monster
Benevolence, charity and justice are values that come to my mind when I think about Christianity but
I normally do not think about them when I am describing a monster which is for me stereotypical a
horrible, brutal and wretched creature. But how can Frankenstein s Monster, which he creates in the
novel Frankenstein, written by Mary Shelley in the year 1818, still be a Christian monster? By
connecting some of the Monster s qualities with typical Christian qualities, I will argue that this
Monster embodies a plurality of Christian qualities, although they do not prevent him from his brutal
revenge. Frankenstein s Monster knows a lot about Christianity because it reads Paradise Lost by
Milton which records the events of Genesis. Here the creature learned a lesson about man s place in
the order of things , as Robert M. Ryan argues (152). After this lecture, Frankenstein s Monster knows
that there is a creator, a God who cares about his creatures wellness with benevolence and love. The
knowledge of the existence of a God and of Christianity alone does not automatically make the
creature a Christian, but it is the basis for him adopting the Christian ideology. The next step on the
Creature s way to Christianity is to transfer its ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

should love your next like you love yourself (1133). And so, by collecting wood for his needy, beloved
friends (Shelley 77) or clearing the snow in the night (Shelley 79), Frankenstein s Monster performs
one of the most basic, but also most important Christian values, probably even without knowing

The Undara lava tubes were formed 190,000 years ago in the Cainozoic period due to large volcanic
activity. In this time, Mount Undara had a volcanic eruption that spewed molten lava onto the
surrounding landscape. The lava reached 90km North and 160km north west of the volcano. An
estimated 23.3 km3 of lava flowed from the volcano at a rate of about 1000 m3 every second.
(Nprsr.qld.gov.au, 2015) The lava that exited the volcano reached extreme temperatures of 1200°C,
therefore destroying anything that got in it s way. The lava tubes were then formed as the top outer
layer cooled and formed a crust while the molten lava below drained outwards leaving behind a series
of hollow tubes. (Austhrutime.com, 2015) Caves however, have formed due to weaker lava tubes
collapsing and creating depressions. The craters seen in Undara have formed from chunks of molten
rock imploding the surface of the Earth due to explosions from the Mt Undara volcano. Some of the
animals that were on the earth at this time included the sabre tooth tiger, cave bears, woolly
mammoths and woolly rhinoceros. At this time, plants had a time to flourish since the extinction of the
dinosaurs. Nearly every plant living today had its roots in the Cainozoic Era. (LiveScience.com, 2015)

Background Of The Problem Of Opium
Background of the Problem
Opium is one of the key ingredients that is required when making Heroin. Once the milky fluid has
been cut from the poppy seed, it is then scraped off and set to air dry, producing what we know today
as opium. The opium is then vigorously stirred in with a calcium solution and hot water and then is
supposed to settle for a few hours. Once the opium has been settled, the top which contains the
morphine is extracted from the rest of the liquid. The morphine residue is then dried which results in a
brown morphine base. A chemical solution can be added at this time in addition with heat until the
solution turns black. When cooled down and quenched with water, the impurities of the substance are
removed. In a separate container, sodium carbonate is dissolved in water, then added to the morphine
base solution to create a Heroin based solution. However, on the streets of Dayton, to make more of a
profit off a cheaper substance, it is mostly sold by gel caps which are not as high quality. This results
in unnatural substances and chemicals being included in the cheap heroin product, creating a major
reason why addicts are dying from the drug.
Records show that within Montgomery County the number of heroin overdose has significantly
increased over time. Society is taking a destructive approach by punishing those who abuse drugs like
heroin rather than treating the addiction as a disease that is needing to be cured. The improper

Mccandless, Mccandless And Thoreau
Similar to Thoreau, McCandless does not associate being in solitude to being lonesome. Throughout
his journey, McCandless avoids forming close bonds with others because it distracts him from his
final goal of independence and transcendentalism. This lack of intimate relationships frees
McCandless as seen through the journal entry he wrote before walking into the Alaskan Bush. He
writes proudly that for two years he has roamed with no company and no comforts. He calls it,
Ultimate freedom (Krakauer 163). The fact that he considers it more of a freedom than a loss to live in
solidarity shows that like Thoreau, McCandless does not feel lonely when he is alone. According to
his sister, Carine, even when he was younger, he was fine with being alone. She said that although he
had friends, he could easily entertain himself and never seemed lonely when he was alone. Another
instance in which McCandless s dissociation of solitude and loneliness shows is in a letter he writes to
Ron Franz, a man he met near Salton City. In this letter, he tells Franz to step outside his comfort zone
and live a more adventurous life. Towards the end of the letter, he states, You are wrong if you think
Joy emanates only or principally from human relationships, (Krakauer 57). This approach is how he is
not lonely in solitude; he is capable of finding joy in things other than human contact.
Thoreau lived as a minimalist to strip away the distractions of life. He wanted to live in the woods,

Stem Cell Regulation
Skin with its hair follicle is an excellent system to study molecular mechanism of stem cell regulation.
Due to constant need of tissue regeneration, it has abundant number of stem cells. Hair follicle consist
of a permanent portion sebaceous gland and below it is a bulge area, which houses Hair follicle
epidermal stem cells(HFSCs). Bulge also provides niche for melanocyte stem cells interspersed
between HFSCs. Behavior of the two stem cells is well coordinated. Differentiating melanocytes
transfer pigment to terminally differentiated hair follicles (Nishimura et al., 2002; Tanimura et al.,
2011; Rabbani et al., 2011).Hair follicle undergoes cyclical bouts of 3 phases anagen (phase of active
growth), catagen (destruction phase) and telogen (rest phase) (Hardy, 1992). HFSCs give rise to
daughter stem cells which are retained in the bulge area and others form, either epidermal progenitors
which migrate upwards during tissue repair or it forms hair matrix progenitors which migrate below to
form hair shaft (Niemann Watt 2002; Oshima et al., 2001; Taylor et al. 2000).
In early 1990s, HFSCs were located in the bulge region by label retention studies (Cotsarelis et al.,
1990; Morris and Potten, 1994). Later in 2001, presence of HFSCs in bulge area was confirmed by
transplantation experiments. When lac z labeled bulge region from adult mice was transplanted into
hairless mice, lac z labeled cells formed morphologically distinct hair follicle (Oshima et., 2001).

A Comparison Of Gothicism InThe Fall Of The House Of Usher...
Question 1
When I hear the word Gothicism I quickly think of vampires and the paranormal. Gothicism makes us
feel uncomfortable and turns that sense of weird to outright strange. There are two literatures that
really show this weird to strange comparison which is The Fall of the House of Usher and Ligeia both
of which were written by Edgar Allan Poe. Both works have this preternatural vibe which reminds me
of the vampire diaries due to the line or link between the natural and the super natural. I find that in
Poe s stories we as readers could read it in many different ways. Hints like the noises in the house
from the Fall of the House of Usher makes us think its Rodericks dead sister, in fact it was actually the
house falling apart. Though how can one know a house is falling apart if one is addicted to opium and
bed ridden. And if the opium was not enough to kill someone what about the fungi which produces
carbon dioxide. I believe if we put opium and carbon dioxide together there is defiantly weird turning
into outright strange. Ligeia on the other hand reminds me of something out of a Stephen King book,
the popular book/movie IT immediately came to mind due the background of IT. In short IT was
actually from another dimension/planet and the name Ligeia sounds like something from another
dimension/planet as well. The thing that makes Ligeia so noticable is her eyes, Poe said it best by
describing her eyes as mysterious For eyes we have no models in the remotely

What Is The Stakeholder Theory Of Nike
Introduction
A stakeholder is an individual or association who can affect or be affected by the business s activities.
They might have neither direct nor indirect interest in the firms. Form a decent connection between
stakeholders and firms is vital because stakeholders can contact with the firm very often or just in

piecegood supply chain in China and Hong Kong in response to the emergence of the relatively new
fast fashion retail business strategy and the consequent manufacturing adjustments along the supply
chain which improved production output and reduced production costs for the Chinese factories. In
addition, the following text will overview a qualitative research study conducted by means of in depth
interviews with eight large Chinese textile factories to gain accurate data on the changes that are
currently implemented to coincide with fast fashion s model. The data may be beneficial to buyers and
suppliers in understanding difficulties faced by both producers and retailers in the fast fashion industry
and may provide the possible changes China should make to further secure a competitive advantage in
the global textile industry. Lastly, a model will be presented, which is useful to textile industry
professionals for a better understanding of time management and costs associated with alternative
production methods. Current research in fast fashion generally does not extend toward the
manufacturing arm in China and to the reaction of the product suppliers; therefore, this work offers
unique insight into the ways in which the T C C factories prioritise, manage, and innovate to remain

There are also inventions to meet the objectives to maximize the scratch pad efficiency and to
minimize the frequency and influence of pop ups; they will be summarized below.
For the first invention, one must focus on the preparation, requiring little conscious attention, and
taking up little space on the scratch pad . In the writers perspective, the purpose of preparation is to
create shortcuts that will make resulting patterns of complex motor actions (like for example, the
fingering sequence) more or less automatic. While in the process, an approach can be marking one s
music at critical points, such as where accidentals appear and the location of key or tempo changes;
another would be using different colored sticky notes as cues for some aspects of playing. The mentor
must also be willing to help the student perhaps through bringing one to the performance venue,
letting each rehearse in the performance order, and requiring one to assume a ready position every
time he/she steps on the podium.
As for the second and third invention, one must increase his/her focal attention. To pay attention to
your music, not too much attention to pop ups, is the attentional process to be cultivated; trying to
suppress or fight negative thoughts may be counterproductive; one must be selective about when and
what to recognize and respond. One can pay attention to his/her own breathing by

The Fall of Both Mubarak’s Regime and the Legal...
Introduction :
By the end of Mubarak s rule, the legalised political opposition in Egypt was already a mirror to the
regime it was presumed to challenge: discreditable, central, aging and undemocratic.
Systematic state repression and internal divisions fragmented the opposition and deviated it from the
role assumed by its counterparts in liberal democracies. Instead of competitive interaction with the
regime, the legal opposition stationed itself as an integral part of the authoritarian polity. Years of
regime opposition dynamics ended with the latter s alignment with the regime and becoming more of
a domesticated opposition. This clientelist relationship was necessary for the survival of the semi

The 1990s were labeled as Egypt s deliberalisation period (Stacher, 2004).
They were regarded as the years when the regime gave birth to new forms of authoritarianism that do
not fit into classic categories of one party, military, or personal dictatorship (Schedler, 2002).
Since the publication of Huntington s Third Wave in 1991, many analysts have anticipated a
democratic transition to occur in Egypt.
Indicators of the progress of the democratization process in Egypt included the emergence of
thousands of civil society groups, legal political parties, and numerous newspapers, as well as the
increasing role of the judiciary and rule of law. Yet, despite the arguments that Egypt s managed
process has a democratic endgame, the 1990s witnessed a rollback of civil society and political
opposition.
The deliberalisation process began in the early 1990s and was initially directed at Islamist activism
and political aspirations. When the regime successfully dealt with the Islamists, it began to curtail its
own weak opposition parties. Of the sixteen legalized opposition parties in Egypt, seven have been
closed since 1998. The regime also prevented prominent independent members of parliament from
using already existing parties to challenge the ruling party (Stacher, 2004).

The Tell Tale Heart Mood

details, diction, and imagery to convey a haunting mood. The murderer expresses how he killed the

haunted by the murderer stalking him. In the Tell Tale Heart the author uses dark details to show a

illustrates that he is using negative and dark scary words to show spooky details about the old mans

the culture from the inside to discover how Deaf people describe themselves and how they think about
their lives.
In chapter 1, two Deaf sisters Helen and Vicki were interviwed by Carol. Their interview stood out to
be the most in the chapter because it showed children spend their time learning what things are
supposed to mean. As Carol interviewed the two Deaf sisters and they both argued about Michael
being deaf or hearing it made me question why they both had a different answer if their both deaf.
Also when Vicki mentioned Michael being Deaf and hearing I noticed you can;t be Deaf and hearing.
I also noticed that children are often wrong for the most intertesting reasons and right for reasons we
never expect. This was interesting because when Vicki reaches her older sister age she will be better

The authors visted different places in France to understand the orgins myth of sign language. They
were invited to by the local Deaf club in Marseilles, France, to a spcially oranized dinner. They heard
a story again about Abbé de l Epée and how he met two deaf women. As he wonder outside in the
dark, he found a a house and as he entered the house he found two young women. When he spoke to

A Closer Look At I.a. Richards
A Closer Look at I.A. Richards and Semantic Triangle Theory
I.A. Richards said, Language, if it is to be used, must be a ready instrument (Russo, 2015). He thrived
off of his need to understand the use of language and it is a common and recurring theme throughout
his work. Richards was a teacher, philosopher, poet, prolific speaker, lover of books and words
themselves (Russo, 2015). A complex man who led a complicated life, Richards ultimately facilitated
a way to better understand the intricate process of how words gain meaning (Golden, Berquist,
Coleman, Sproule, 2010). Through examining the semantic triangle theory, a student can understand
how to become an efficient communicator. Discussed below is a basic introduction to Richards, ...

Richards ) In 1939, he began teaching English at Harvard and stayed taught there for a quarter of a
century ( I.A. Richards). He died in 1979, but he will never be forgotten, for he has made an
everlasting impact on the studies of linguistics and rhetoric ( I.A. Richards).
What is the Semantic Triangle? According to The Theory of Western Thought, The best known
rhetorical device developed in The Meaning of Meaning is perhaps the semantic triangle (Golden,
Berquist, Coleman, Sproule, 2010, pg. 265). Ogden and Richards determined that people generally see
words as things in reality therefore we confuse the symbol or word with the thing or object in reality
(Golden, Berquist, Coleman, Sproule, 2010). For example, the word FAN would literally be
perpetually twirling propellers to produce wind. Of course, one intellectually understands that the
object and the word are not the same thing, however, while humans communicate, as Ogden and
Richards argue, we tend to make a necessary connection between the word and the reality of the
object, which they refer to as the referent (Golden, Berquist, Coleman, Sproule, 2010). Simply put,
our experience with a word or object, is parallel to our basic understanding of the object we use the
word to refer to.

What Is The Theme Of Rashomon
A 1950 japanese period drama film, Rashomon gives an insight to human motives and how as
humans lie as per their convenience. Directed by akira kurosawa the movie is based on two stories
namely rashomon and in a grove written by ryunosuke akutagawa.
The film opens with a thunderstorm with a woodcutter and a priest taking shelter under the
citygate named rashomon. A common man enters the scene to whom they narrate a disturbing
story of a murder which took place three days ago in the woods. The film goes in a flashback
where the woodcutter confesses when he is summoned by the court that he found a woman s hat , a
samurai s cap, a rope and later found the dead body of the samurai. The priest also tells the court
that he had seen the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He says he got attracted to the
samurai s wife and wanted her without having to kill the samurai. But later that day when he
tricked the samurai giving him the lust of valuable swords being hidden by him, he captures him
and ties him down. He brings his wife to the place where he tied him which engages his wife into a
fight with the bandit. Tajomaru assaults the samurai s wife after which she tells him that either he
must die or her husband because for two men to have known her shame is worst that dying .
The wife of the samurai when found seeking shelter in a temple is summoned in the court. Her
version of the story was way different from that of the samurai. She says her husband was tied
down and after the bandit attacked her he went away leaving her behind and because of her shame
she couldnt face her husband. She kept telling him not to look at her in that manner which made
her feel guilty. She picks her dagger which had pearl inlay and moves towards her husband and
eventually faints. When she gats up she sees the dagger in her husbands body thereby thinking as
though she murdered him. The samurai tells another story to the court through a medium . He

How Did Rockefeller s Monopolies
The monopoly of oil created by Rockefeller caused smaller business to go out of business or make it
very unprofitable for them to function. The regular oil companies could not compete with the Standard
Oil Company, for they were trying to put smaller companies out of business. Rockefeller joined with
competing companies in trust agreements. Participants in a trust turned their stock over to a group of
trustees. This made it so you either had to join the bigger company or stop selling oil because it would
not be profitable. The first hand account of this happening shows the negative effects to big
businesses. How could a business survive when it is being attacked by a monopoly that was formed
illegally? The Sherman Antitrust Act made this illegal. The large businesses forming monopolies
would say this is the point of capitalism. They can sell their better product for whatever they want. Is
it really illegal to undercut prices, but it is morally wrong to do. Unfortunately the owners of the
monopolies did not care about others they only cared about themselves. Overall the monopolies
formed by Rockefeller, Carnegie, and Pullman were very beneficial to themselves, but to no one else
that wasn t making money. The next document is about how Carnegie feels about giving money away.
Carnegie claims that to be rich you must show that you are rich. You must have shunning displays that
show wealth. People have to look up to you for answers. People have to want to be you and they must

Based on the findings, a new strategic plan emerged. One of the proposed solution was to restructure
the organization from a tall structure to a flat one which is in line with Lars stork position (Stork,
2009), which suggests that a structural transformation is crucial for a company in sub Sahara Africa to
succeed with the current prevailing global financial challenge Following the acquisition of then, Celtel
by the Zain group, it became fundamental to ensure that all of its 23 operations were aligned in terms
of culture and structure, which was also a strategy to increase the value of the company to its
shareholders. To facilitate this, the Nigerian operation was re layered to further flatten it. From its
original 6 layers which included Chief Officers, Directors, Head of Department (HOD), Managers,
Supervisor and Administrators, it was reduced to 4 (Chief Officers, Directors, Manager Team
Members). The major objective is to ensure that Zain Nigeria becomes a leaner, more efficient

People in the United States, hold civil rights, which are those privileges, immunities and rights held by all Americans and political rights, which are the rights that are restricted to those who are entitled to participate in elections, as candidates or voters. The distinction is important since not all are eligible to vote though they all should enjoy their freedoms. This may no longer be feasible as majority of the civil rights are taken to include the political rghts in this age. • 3. Exploratory Paper Before beginning the quantitative research report, we had to had complete an exploratory research report. This was necessary as it allowed us to see trends in relation to healthy eating. The exploratory research mainly consisted of qualitative questions as we wanted to see if there was any relationship between a cupcake and a chicken and spinach sandwich. After analyzing the results of the survey, we were able to get a better insight of the perceptions and preferences that consumers have when it comes to eating and purchasing healthy food. Some of the more interesting things that we gained from reviewing the survey results was that consumers would rather eat a chicken and spinach sandwich over a cupcake. The main reasons for this was that a chicken and spinach sandwich would not only count as a proper meal but it s also a healthier option than the cupcake. Another interesting thing that we found was that consumers feel as though it is more expensive to eat healthy than it is to eat unhealthy. In the end, the most interesting thing that we found from the survey was that consumers were divided on the fact that organic food was a healthier option as compared to non organic ... Difference Between Phonology And Phonemic Awareness The terms phonological awareness and phonemic awareness are used interchangeably .Phonological awareness represents a range of manipulation and detection skills across different sizes of sound pieces. Phonemic awareness, however, specifically refers to the ability to manipulate and detect the smallest sound pieces in words (the phonemes). It refers to the ability to manipulate the phonemic structure of an utterance independently from its meaning. It is the awareness that words are composed of smaller units, that alliteration is when words begin with the same sound segment, and that rhyming is caused by words ending with the same sound segment. Therefore, it refers to the auditory task of identifying, distinguishing between, and working with an utterance at the level of larger units such as words, and syllables, or at the level of smaller units, such as phonemes. It also includes awareness of speech sounds at all levels including word, syllable, onset rime or phoneme. It doesn t matter if you re living paycheck to paycheck or earning six figures a year, you need to know where your money is going if you want to have a handle on your finances. Unlike what you might believe, budgeting isn t all about restricting what you spend money on and cutting out all the fun in your life. It s really about understanding how much money you have, where it goes, and then planning how to best allocate those funds. Here s everything you need to help you create a budget using different approach. However, in business, this is rarely the case. There are always variables. * No incentives Such a simple method of budgeting really does not provide your employees with much reason to be creative. They have no incentive to innovate and come up with new ideas or policies. When a budget allows a little extra room for innovation, you might find that your employees come up with something great. * Use it or lose it Many employees view this as a use it or lose it system. They know that next year s budget is going to be incrementally based on this year s. Therefore, if they do not spend everything that is allocated to them, they may not have enough money to work with next year. This creates an environment where waste is encouraged. Whilst this individual is assigned one biological gender at birth, their own personal gender identity does not fit neatly into either the male or the female gender role of their society. In many mainstream religions, God s and Goddesses, posses one gender and a male and female distinct and separate beings, yet there is a long standing history of androgyny in mystical writings; that is to say the assertion that male and female qualities were originally contained within one body. The term androgyny is given its roots within Greek mythology. The major underlying assumption of both male and female sex roles is that an individual may act in either traditionally male or female roles, depending solely on the situation and needs of that given situation. According to Swain, D. In patriarchal societies men and masculinity have always been held in higher esteem to women and femininity. Men have always held a superior status and position in these societies. This can arguable be traced back to Aristotle who concluded that due to a males genitals being on the outside of the body, this made him hot and dry and to be hot and dry was to be superior. This lack of nobility is found within William Shakespeare s play Tragedy of Othello, which follows the life of Othello, a Venetian Moor that has earned his place in society through his acts of valor in battle. Othello wins the love of Desdemona, who is the daughter of a Venetian elite and is also lusted after by a nobleman named Roderigo. Roderigo follows them around throughout the play and tries to use Othello s inner circle to gain her love. He is a nobleman who has a lot of power within their society. This is shown when Roderigo confronts Iago about the money he has been giving him to try and pay for Desdemona s love but it fails. The narrator describes the Tartar thistle he finds growing in a ditch at the beginning and the end of story, and the thistle becomes a significant symbol in two ways. The first is that it represents the life of Murad. The second is that the thistle mirrors the death of Murad. The thistle s ability to represent both the life and death Murad makes it a vital usage of symbolism in telling the story of Murad. One reason the Tartar thistle is important to Hadji Murad is that it represents Murad s life. Readers are able to establish this through several different references. ... • 25. Contamination of Drinking-Water by Arsenic in Bangladesh Introduction: There are metal substances which have mixed up with the river water of Bangladesh. The substance is known as Arsenic in Bangladesh. It was first found in the West Bengal ten years ago (1995 96). Arsenic is both toxic and carcinogenic. It is in inorganic forms, dissolved in drinking water which is the most significant forms of natural exposure. Organic forms of arsenic that may be present in food are much less toxic to humans. Clinical manifestations of arsenic poisoning begin with various forms of skin diseases, which lead to damage of internal organs, ultimately to cancer and death. Systems using LS may require secondary treatment to meet that goal. Activated Alumina (AA) is effective in treating water with high total dissolved solids (TDS). However, selenium, fluoride, chloride, and sulfate, if present at high levels, may compete for adsorption sites. AA is highly selective towards As(V); and this strong attraction results in regeneration problems, possibly resulting in 5 to 10 percent loss of adsorptive capacity for each run. Application of point of use treatment devices would need to consider regeneration and replacement. Systems containing high levels of these constituents may require pretreatment. Reverse Osmosis (RO) provided removal efficiencies of greater than 95 percent when operating pressure is at ideal psi. If RO is used by small systems in the western U. S. , 60% water recovery will lead to an increased need for raw water. The water recovery is the volume of water produced by the process divided by the influent stream (product water/influent stream). The transcontinental railroad act is the first step in creating a continental common market. This quote by, Charles R. Furthermore, the article describes wagon shipping was $1.77, while by rail it was less than a tenth of that amount. • 31. Examples Of Christianity In Frankenstein s Monster Benevolence, charity and justice are values that come to my mind when I think about Christianity but I normally do not think about them when I am describing a monster which is for me stereotypical a horrible, brutal and wretched creature. But how can Frankenstein s Monster, which he creates in the novel Frankenstein, written by Mary Shelley in the year 1818, still be a Christian monster? By connecting some of the Monster s qualities with typical Christian qualities, I will argue that this Monster embodies a plurality of Christian qualities, although they do not prevent him from his brutal revenge. Frankenstein s Monster knows a lot about Christianity because it reads Paradise Lost by Milton which records the events of Genesis. Here the creature learned a lesson about man s place in the order of things , as Robert M. Ryan argues (152). After this lecture, Frankenstein s Monster knows that there is a creator, a God who cares about his creatures wellness with benevolence and love. In this time, Mount Undara had a volcanic eruption that spewed molten lava onto the surrounding landscape. The lava reached 90km North and 160km north west of the volcano. An estimated 23.3 km3 of lava flowed from the volcano at a rate of about 1000 m3 every second. (Nprsr.qld.gov.au, 2015) The lava that exited the volcano reached extreme temperatures of 1200°C, therefore destroying anything that got in it s way. • 33. Background Of The Problem Of Opium Background of the Problem Opium is one of the key ingredients that is required when making Heroin. Once the milky fluid has been cut from the poppy seed, it is then scraped off and set to air dry, producing what we know today as opium. The opium is then vigorously stirred in with a calcium solution and hot water and then is supposed to settle for a few hours. Once the opium has been settled, the top which contains the morphine is extracted from the rest of the liquid. The morphine residue is then dried which results in a brown morphine base. A chemical solution can be added at this time in addition with heat until the solution turns black. When cooled down and quenched with water, the impurities of the substance are removed. In a separate container, sodium carbonate is dissolved in water, then added to the morphine base solution to create a Heroin based solution. However, on the streets of Dayton, to make more of a profit off a cheaper substance, it is mostly sold by gel caps which are not as high quality. This results in unnatural substances and chemicals being included in the cheap heroin product, creating a major reason why addicts are dying from the drug. Records show that within Montgomery County the number of heroin overdose has significantly increased over time. Society is taking a destructive approach by punishing those who abuse drugs like heroin rather than treating the addiction as a disease that is needing to be cured. • 34. Mccandless, Mccandless And Thoreau Similar to Thoreau, McCandless does not associate being in solitude to being lonesome. Throughout his journey, McCandless avoids forming close bonds with others because it distracts him from his final goal of independence and transcendentalism. This lack of intimate relationships frees McCandless as seen through the journal entry he wrote before walking into the Alaskan Bush. He writes proudly that for two years he has roamed with no company and no comforts. He calls it, Ultimate freedom (Krakauer 163). The fact that he considers it more of a freedom than a loss to live in solidarity shows that like Thoreau, McCandless does not feel lonely when he is alone. According to his sister, Carine, even when he was younger, he was fine with being alone. She said that although he had friends, he could easily entertain himself and never seemed lonely when he was alone. Another instance in which McCandless s dissociation of solitude and loneliness shows is in a letter he writes to Ron Franz, a man he met near Salton City. In this letter, he tells Franz to step outside his comfort zone and live a more adventurous life. Towards the end of the letter, he states, You are wrong if you think Joy emanates only or principally from human relationships, (Krakauer 57). • 35. Stem Cell Regulation Skin with its hair follicle is an excellent system to study molecular mechanism of stem cell regulation. Due to constant need of tissue regeneration, it has abundant number of stem cells. Hair follicle consist of a permanent portion sebaceous gland and below it is a bulge area, which houses Hair follicle epidermal stem cells(HFSCs). Bulge also provides niche for melanocyte stem cells interspersed between HFSCs. Behavior of the two stem cells is well coordinated. Differentiating melanocytes transfer pigment to terminally differentiated hair follicles (Nishimura et al., 2002; Tanimura et al., 2011; Rabbani et al., 2011).Hair follicle undergoes cyclical bouts of 3 phases anagen (phase of active growth), catagen (destruction phase) and telogen (rest phase) (Hardy, 1992). HFSCs give rise to daughter stem cells which are retained in the bulge area and others form, either epidermal progenitors which migrate upwards during tissue repair or it forms hair matrix progenitors which migrate below to form hair shaft (Niemann Watt 2002; Oshima et al., 2001; Taylor et al. 2000). In early 1990s, HFSCs were located in the bulge region by label retention studies (Cotsarelis et al., 1990; Morris and Potten, 1994). Gothicism makes us feel uncomfortable and turns that sense of weird to outright strange. There are two literatures that really show this weird to strange comparison which is The Fall of the House of Usher and Ligeia both of which were written by Edgar Allan Poe. Both works have this preternatural vibe which reminds me of the vampire diaries due to the line or link between the natural and the super natural. I find that in Poe s stories we as readers could read it in many different ways. Hints like the noises in the house from the Fall of the House of Usher makes us think its Rodericks dead sister, in fact it was actually the house falling apart. Though how can one know a house is falling apart if one is addicted to opium and bed ridden. And if the opium was not enough to kill someone what about the fungi which produces carbon dioxide. Instead of competitive interaction with the regime, the legal opposition stationed itself as an integral part of the authoritarian polity. They were regarded as the years when the regime gave birth to new forms of authoritarianism that do not fit into classic categories of one party, military, or personal dictatorship (Schedler, 2002). Since the publication of Huntington s Third Wave in 1991, many analysts have anticipated a democratic transition to occur in Egypt. Indicators of the progress of the democratization process in Egypt included the emergence of thousands of civil society groups, legal political parties, and numerous newspapers, as well as the increasing role of the judiciary and rule of law. Yet, despite the arguments that Egypt s managed process has a democratic endgame, the 1990s witnessed a rollback of civil society and political opposition. Richards was a teacher, philosopher, poet, prolific speaker, lover of books and words themselves (Russo, 2015). A complex man who led a complicated life, Richards ultimately facilitated a way to better understand the intricate process of how words gain meaning (Golden, Berquist, Coleman, Sproule, 2010). According to The Theory of Western Thought, The best known rhetorical device developed in The Meaning of Meaning is perhaps the semantic triangle (Golden, Berquist, Coleman, Sproule, 2010, pg. 265). Ogden and Richards determined that people generally see words as things in reality therefore we confuse the symbol or word with the thing or object in reality (Golden, Berquist, Coleman, Sproule, 2010). For example, the word FAN would literally be perpetually twirling propellers to produce wind. Of course, one intellectually understands that the object and the word are not the same thing, however, while humans communicate, as Ogden and Richards argue, we tend to make a necessary connection between the word and the reality of the object, which they refer to as the referent (Golden, Berquist, Coleman, Sproule, 2010). Simply put, our experience with a word or object, is parallel to our basic understanding of the object we use the word to refer to. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 46. How Did Rockefeller s Monopolies The monopoly of oil created by Rockefeller caused smaller business to go out of business or make it very unprofitable for them to function. The regular oil companies could not compete with the Standard Oil Company, for they were trying to put smaller companies out of business. Rockefeller joined with competing companies in trust agreements. Participants in a trust turned their stock over to a group of trustees. This made it so you either had to join the bigger company or stop selling oil because it would not be profitable. The first hand account of this happening shows the negative effects to big businesses. How could a business survive when it is being attacked by a monopoly that was formed illegally? The Sherman Antitrust Act made this illegal. The large businesses forming monopolies would say this is the point of capitalism. They can sell their better product for whatever they want. Is it really illegal to undercut prices, but it is morally wrong to do. Unfortunately the owners of the monopolies did not care about others they only cared about themselves. Overall the monopolies formed by Rockefeller, Carnegie, and Pullman were very beneficial to themselves, but to no one else that wasn t making money. The next document is about how Carnegie feels about giving money away. Carnegie claims that to be rich you must show that you are rich. You must have shunning displays that show wealth.
