Unified School District has food services that promotes and brings attention to our freshly prepared
schoolmeals made from California grown products (School NutritionAnd Fitness). To promote even
healthier eating, McNair actively participates in the USDA case study, inviting mobile carts to

forth, students still find the lunches unappetizing (due to low grade food quality) and prefer to eat

According to Alice Waters and Katrina Heron, authors of No lunch left behind an article published
in The New York Times on February 19, 2009, the National School Lunch Program is a poor
investment. The authors informed the public that of $9 billion, very little actually goes into the
food. They demand fresh alternatives provided by local farmers and refine school equipment, to
instead prepare fresh nutritious meals for the school. Although we may produce some meals at the
school, there are still ways to improve the equipment to better serve the students. Education about
sensible eating is also recommended, as it will teach students a nourishing lifestyle outside of
school. With a well constructed plan that upgrades the quality of the food and food education, it
will surely make our school healthier!

Holden Caulfield from Catcher in the Rye only likes the innocent parts of people. Throughout the
book we are given examples of how Holden has different feelings based on who he is talking to.
Three important characters in the book give three different personalities that add up to the overall

Stephen Dedalus Childhood
The entire book, Portrait of an Artist as a Young Man, is written about a young man named Stephen
Dedalus and his transition into an artist throughout his childhood and adolescence years. Stephen s
childhood was not typical, as during his younger years he experienced more terror and tribulation,
then innocence and wonder. Unlike the other children of his time, Stephen cared more about
literature and religion, and normally strayed far from his group. Not only were Stephen s social
interactions the cause of his terrorizing and painful childhood, but Stephen also faced many

Throughout the book Stephen s relationship with his parents is described as complicated and
complex. At the beginning of the story, Stephen starts to get frustrated with his parents after
having to move multiple times due to not being able to pay the bills. During one of Stephen s
school changes, it is stated that he had felt the slight changes in his house; and these changes in
what he had deemed unchangeable were so many slight shocks to his boyish conception of the
world (74). This proves that these constant changes not only in houses, but also in schools,
affected Stephen s childhood. These instinaces made Stephen s relationship with his parent s
complicated, as he was two young to fully understand what was going on. Since Stephen did not
fully get along with his parents, it allowed him to use school as his way of escaping them. Being
able to get away at school then allowed Stephen to develop his own beliefs and opinions about
religion, politics, and the world. When Stephen returns home from school, his parents test him
again, with his dad calling him a lazy bitch and his mom telling him he will rue the day (179). If
Stephen would not have had a complicated and difficult relationship with his parents, then he would
have never ventured out into the world, discovering his true love for
