Seeing A Chiropractor Essay
5 Benefits of Seeing a Chiropractor Anyone who has experienced the pain associated with a neck
or spine injury can likely tell you how debilitating such a condition can be. Experiencing relief at
the hands of an experienced chiropractor can make all the difference in terms of quality of life.
While chiropractors are certainly qualified to assist in back and neck issues, they may also offer
a variety of other advantages to their clients. The following are some of the top benefits of seeing
a chiropractor in El Cajon. 1. Preventing and Relieving Depression Chronic pain can take its toll
on the body, and it may drain a person of energy. Over time, dealing with chronic pain may lead to
chronic depression. An individual who is in pain may need... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Hypertension is associated with some serious health conditions, including cardiovascular disease.
When a chiropractor performs a specific type of procedure for several weeks, the result may be
even more effective than taking blood pressure medication. This could lead to a healthier overall
condition for the client but the person should still follow the various dietary and exercise
recommendations for people with hypertension. 4. Better Athletic Performance Many athletes are
aware of the benefits of chiropractic treatment, and chiropractors have been used for decades by
some of the top athletes in the world. Getting a chiropractic adjustment can help to align the spine,
which may then offer better support to the muscles. This can enhance athletic performance not just
for professional athletes, but for anyone who wishes to remain active and healthy by engaging in
sports. 5. Lower Medical and Pharmaceutical Bills Chiropractic treatment is a great natural
alternative to many of the medical treatments and pharmaceutical options available today. A person
who does not wish to undergo surgery or manage pain with pain medication may want to consider
chiropractic care. In many cases, people with acute or chronic pain are able to avoid traditional
medical treatment

Cultural Issues and the Psychological Framework
Cultural Issues and the Psychological Framework Some of the many cultural issues faced by human
resource managers are communication including communicating company culture, language
barriers, understanding the business etiquette in other countries, the concept of face that is
recognized in many cultures, and that employees may have some amount of fear when they are
immersed in the new culture. Geert Hofstedecreated a cultural framework based on five dimensions
of psychology to offer some understanding of different cultural issues (Ahlstrom Bruton, 2010, p.
47).
Applying the Cultural Framework Hofstede based his framework on five basic dimensions power
distance, individualism collectivism, uncertainty avoidance, production orientation, and Confucian
dynamism (Ahlstrom Bruton, 2010, p. 47). Some of these dimensions can be used to analyze some
of the different cultural issues that affect HRM and explain why issues exist between cultures.
Power Distance Power Distance represents the measurement by which less powerful employees
acknowledge the power exerted by those with more power (Clearly Cultural, 2014, para. 1). This
index explains why certain cultures may have issues with communication. Those countries which
have a very high power distance, such as Malaysia, would have a culture where lower level
employees would not question instructions given by management. An expatriate working in
Malaysia would need to understand this concept in order to communicate properly

The Educational Achievement Gap Between Minorities And Non...
Race in America is and has always been an enormous deal and a focal point in America and of
many educational studies. Many studies have researched the educational achievement gap between
minorities and non minorities. I rather refer to it as the educational debt we as educators owe
those students, this study looks at the idea of having more teachers of color in hopes to pay our
debt of educationback to these minority students. I surveyed over 100 minority students to gauge
their attitudes concerning learning, motivation, confidence and much more to see how it differs
from their minority teacher class and their non minority teacher class. I also looked at grades of
20 students and was able to view a survey done about my class compared to... Show more content

Therefore, the only thing I could think of is my race. I am one of very few African Americans on
the campus and one of few African Americanmale teachers in the school district. Although most
schools in the district have over 90% minority students, which is not the case when it comes to the
numbers of minority educators in the classroom.
This is not just a problem in my school district or just in California but one seen across the
nation. Today in the United States minority students have actually become the majority in the
classroom. With this change, there has not been any uptick of teachers of color. One place
where there is a great disparity is Boston, for every 52 Latino students there is only one Hispanic
teacher, and one black teacher for every 22 African American students (Rich, 2015). This is not a
new problem or one that can be fixed with just money, a stroke of a pen or with this study but will
take a number of things to happen. Many studies have cited for years the importance of role
models for minority students but for some reason, they still do not have these role models and it is
not concrete that these role models will help produce a positive effect on the learning abilities of
minority students.
The idea that a stroke of a pen or in other words policy, could add more teachers of color and
instantly close the gap . This idea has led to call for mass recruitment of minority teachers (see, for
example,

What is a Registered Retirement Savings Plan?
Many know Registered Retirement Savings Plan as an investment vehicle where Canadians can put
money aside for retirement. However, there s more to an RRSP than its intention of a retirement
savings. RRSP is registered with the CRA, in accordance with the income tax act, to allow
individuals to get a tax deduction for the amount they contribute (up to a certain limit) to their
RRSP. RRSP gives highly advantageous for high income individuals. The RRSP is taxed upon
withdrawal, allowing individuals to pay lower tax if withdrawn close to retirement. There are many
investment options for an RRSP offered by financial institutions such as a daily interest savings,

Usually, a taxpayer will pay less tax on the funds that are withdrawn closer to retirement as the
MTR will be lower. However, the RRSP do offer plans such as the Home Buyers Plan and the
Lifelong Learning Plan where the taxpayer is allowed to withdraw up to a certain limit without
getting taxed but is expected to be paid back within a certain number of years. The Home Buyers
Plan (HBP) allows an individual to withdraw up to $25,000 from their RRSP to build or buy a
qualifying home. The withdrawals won t be treated like a regular withdrawal where it doesn t
have to be included in the income of the individual. However, the amount withdrawn under the
HBP must be repaid within 15 years installments or else missed payments will treated like a
regular withdrawal and would be included in the taxable income for the year. The Lifelong
Learning Plan (LLP) allows an individual to withdraw up to $20,000 over four calendar years to
help finance for full time education for themselves or they spouse/common law partner. Like the
HBP, the amount withdrawn won t be taxed as a normal withdrawal but must be paid back within
10 years in installments. Unpaid amounts will be included in the taxable income for the current

Examples Of Tribulation In Sula
In the novel Sula, the characters Nel and Sula experience tribulation during their childhood that
eventually affected each of them differently as they transition into adulthood. Sula was an
unpredictable and violent child whereas Nel was quiet and reserved. As they became close friends
throughout their childhood, their times of terror unravel. Sulas actions throughout her childhood are
seen as threats as the community blames her for everything, yet she continues to live freely
disregarding everyone else s opinions. The tribulation seen throughout Sula s life is essentially
because of society s constant hatred and blaming her for every tragedy. As she transitions from
childhood to early adulthood, she believes that society has so much hatred... Show more content on

As Nel s household is represented as the standard essence of a family, Sula lives in a
multigenerational household that is operated by women. The houses symbolize the change that
happens within the family and the girls themselves. Eva said yes, but inside she disagreed and
remained convinced that Sula had watched her Hannah burn not because she was paralyzed, but
because she was interested (Morrison, 78). This further challenges Sula as Eva blames her for
the death of her own mother. This could be essentially Eva s own way to deal with Hannah s
death by defining Sula as the source of the tragedy. This eventually leads to the whole
community in the future as they also see Sula s presence as evil . Although being blamed and
defined as the fault for every catastrophe, Sula is not affected and lives her life without any
concern. Nel s response to Jude s shame and anger selected her away from Sula. And greater
than her friendship was this new feeling of being needed... (Morrison, 83). Although Nel chose
to marry young in order to fulfill Helene s wishes, she has reduced the possibilities in her life. As
she gets closer to her marriage, she slowly begins to lose Sula. Even though the marriage is
essentially a joyful event, Jude, Sula s husband, only married for the alternative of what he really
wanted, a man s job. This shows how Nel trying to satisfy society results in her own mishap and

The chamber music concert was held in Manhattan School of Music at 5:00 pm Friday, April 15.
The concert was conducted by many instruments with various types of music. The atmosphere was
fairly intense as the concert hall was approximately the size of an average home living room with
about 35 people in the audience. The camber concert was divided into two major parts with an
intermission of 15 minutes in between the parts. As for this concert report I would like to focus on
primarily the music pieces I ve liked and the experience I have had.
The first part of the concert was diverse and colorful as the beginning two pieces were featured by

The distance from the performer and the audience was so close, allowing you to speculate every
single emotion being produce throughout the concert. The room itself had a very tall ceiling which
made this unique echo that amplified the instruments sound. The audience seemed very profession
as total silence was the only response they had until the end of the piece .The concert overall was a
great experience and I look forward to attending another chamber music concert soon.

situation, which began on September 8th, 2015 that continued onto April 11th, 2017. It will

Now, onto my experience. I was sitting in Study Hall then I overheard a conversation between a
student and teacher regarding this program called Futures Lab, which is a program to guide
students into college. This conversation inspired me to leave Study Hall; to check out Futures
Lab so I d started searching Special Needs Colleges which gave me a surplus of colleges to look
from such as Landmark, Mitchell and Beacon Colleges. The first website that intrigued me was
Mitchell College; which was first on my top choices of schools as it provided train transportation
and my major, which is Television Communications. One of two things that I did was, doing a
virtual tour of campus as that s when my excitement was out of control since Mitchell was the
college that was a perfect fit at that certain time. Then the second thing that I did was; I had
recorded information in my notebook and printed about fifteen pages of paper on Mitchell College
to give to my parents for them to read why Mitchell was the right place for me to get my education.

Reaction Of Joan Of Arc
At the age of 19, Joan of Arc set out to fight for battle with her men on March of 1429 for
Orleans. Joan attested that her mission to save France was in response to voices she heard that
commanded her to wear men clothing and believed that god had appointed her to lead France into
victory during the long term war with England. The men followed her into battle and trusted that
her voices were valid.(JusticeInHistory)She dressed in white armor and riding a white horse, she

She gave very well put together responses to each of the questions. The judges continued to try

Dr. Demming s Great Advice
Dr. Demming s Great Advice
1. Describe the essential aspects of a self directed, intrinsically motivated, active learner?
A student who is a self directed, intrinsically motivated, active learner will own their goals, setting
their goals based on their specific needs, wants, and abilities. They will watch to ensure that their
goals are being met. The methods used by the active learner to achieve his/her goals will change
depending on the opportunities and challenges encountered over time, but the core goals should
stay the same. Otherwise, the active learner will be overcome by distractions and disillusionment.
Dr. W. Edwards Demingis a man that I admire. He was the chief statistician for the United Stated
during World War II. After the war, he was sent to Japan to assist with the process of rebuilding
the nation s industries. He believed that the Japanese could go from being the worst in the world
to being the best by utilizing statistical methods. He believed that the Japanese could take over a
world market in five years if they followed his advice (Asq.org, 2015). Demming stated I was the
only man in Japan who believed that Japanese industry could do that. and They beat my prediction.
I had said it would need five years. It took four. (Asq.org, 2015). Later, the Toyota Corporation
based their quality systems on Dr. Demming s teachings.
Since I believe that Dr. Deming s advice can be used by almost any person or organization to
achieve their goals, I have adapted

Solomon Asch Conformity Experiment
The Solomon Asch s Conformity Study is an experiment where a standard line is shown to an
audience along with three other lines: one will be longer, one will be shorter, one will be the
exact same line as the standard. The goal is to identify which is the same line A, B, or C and the
answer was always obvious. The task is simple, but a person will be the only real participant in
the room while the seven others are confederates who were pretending to be participants and who
were trying to use social pressure to get the participant to conform with the majority group. For
example, if the real answer was A, the confederates would try to throw off the real participant by
saying the answer is B. With the majority saying B is the correct answer, the real participant would
agree with them, even knowing the answer is wrong because everyone else didn t say A.
The experiment was tested on 50 male students from Swarthmore College, and on average, about
32% of the participants conformed to the incorrect answer with the majority. ... Show more content

In the control group, with no pressure to conform to confederates, less than 1% of participants
gave the wrong answer. (McLeod, S. A. 2008). An interview was later given, and everyone said
they felt like they gave the correct answer for all, fearing they would be the outsider even though
they know they gave the wrong answers. This revealed the power of a group where the odd one
out would give in and agree with the majority in order to fit in. However, this destroys a person s
judgement. Asch s response to the results was that The tendency to conformity in our society is so
strong that reasonably intelligent and well meaning young people are willing to call white black.
This is a matter of concern. It raises questions about our ways of education and about the values that
guide our conduct. (Solomon Asch conformity

The Role Of Diversity And Its Role For Journalism
What is the role of diversity in the newsroom?
Use of the term diversity and its role in journalism only calls attention to the lack of it in
newsrooms and magazines across the country. In their absence, I d argue that the true value of
having people of various ethnic and racial backgrounds present in the newsroom has as much to do
with improving the process of newsgathering and reporting as it does achieving racial parity. In
short, I think the role of diversity in journalism is to make journalism better.
For example, Donald Trump s recent visit to Mexico not only highlighted the divisions within the
Republican Party but the junket also revealed the disparity as to who gets to tell the story of his
bid for the Whitehouse. Aside from Trump s well publicized spat with the news anchor Jorge
Ramos; it s apparent the journalists assigned to covering the Trump campaign have not been
representative of the country s population at large. While they ve done a great job covering many
aspects of his campaign, it s not the full story.
Trump s visit to Mexico also illustrates the importance of bilingualism.
Unless the reporters assigned to the press junket are Mexican American, a lot of cross cultural
nuances and the true tenor of what is being said are likely to be missed.
In newsrooms where minorities are under represented, I d also contend that major stories often go
unreported. Unless, events reach the level of national scrutiny like the riots in Ferguson, or become a

The Pros And Cons Of Photocopiers
The 21st century has in many ways been defined as the century of innovation, especially in the
emergent field of technology, and science has been an essential contributor to this. Electricity has
been an important factor to invention. Static electricity is a form of electricity that has enabled the
creation of printers, spray paint, pollutant removers and photocopiers. In this essay, I will discuss
static electricity, photocopiers, and how they play a role in the speed of mass production. I will
also illustrate the photocopier s advantages and disadvantages, and its implication for society.
The well known phrase opposites attract is derived from physics and polarity. Everything that

Photocopiers entertain built in hard drives that are comprised of confidential project information.
Even if one gets a private area to copy confidential documents, the documents remain stored in the
photocopier (fig 6). Therefore it is necessary to decommission the copier and clear the hard drive
before someone else uses it, so that the previous information cannot be accessed .
Photocopiers play a role, even if indirectly, in impacting the environment. We are increasingly
living in an era of pollution and scarcity of fundamental resources. One of these important and
overused resources are trees. The paper making process places burden on some of our most
important natural resources, as the production of paper uses large amounts of energy and water.
The photocopying process also uses chemicals, such as chlorine, , which can cause damage to the
environment. In addition, The United Nations Environment Programed (UNEP), has stated that
paper in landfills can produce toxic greenhouse gases such as methane, which traps up to 21 times
more heat than carbon dioxide . To reduce some of this negative impact, double sided printing was
introduced; it consumes less paper and waste, double sided printing is more environmentally
friendly and economically sound. It also speeds up the mass producing

The essay I want to be Miss America is narrated by Julia Alvarez, a hispanic teenager who was

such grace, and that by winning the gold in the Olympics hw will be more marketable. 3. My

Adio for two years, Mt. Dew for three years, Playstation for five years, and Target for four years.
White s next steps will be working with brands that will put him with a much wider audience.
One of the most important deals he is working on is an agreement to create a signature
snowboarding video game with Ubisoft. This will give White a chance to reach beyond his core
demographics. Shaun has the ability to bring his name and stamp and signature and take
snowboarding gaming to the next level, Sawabini said. (Streets Smiths Sports Business journal,

OpinionIn my opinion I think that White is an outstanding athlete and extremely talented. He has
great ambition and love for the sport, which gives him the urge to do better every time his board

snowboards for himself not his parents or his sponsors, which adds to his grace on the hill. He

Why Do Grizzly Bears Live
The Ursus Arctos otherwise known as the grizzly bear lives in North America around Northern
Canada, Alaska, Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho. A grizzly bear lives in the wild and hunts for its
food such as fish, deer, elk, or any other animal. They live inside of caves for protection from the
weather, they will also live under trees or anything that will provide them shelter. I believe that
grizzly s have evolved into animals that can survive in many climates and environments.
Grizzly Bears have a hump on their shoulders and a concave face. Their claws are 2 4 inches long,

A Soft Drink Tax According to John Stuart Mill
The Justification for a Soft Drink Tax
The Coca Cola brand has built itself into a staple of American culture. This is a terrifying thought
for public health advocates who see Coke and other soft drinks as being major culprits behind a
growing national health crisis. Empirical evidence shows that over consumption of soft drinks
clearly causes harm to the individuals who consume them, however, the waging battle over soda
legislation will not be won on the grounds of health alone. The argument that Coca Cola, Pepsi, and
other soft drink firms present is deeply rooted in American values and cannot easily be trumped.

Therefore, in order to present a stronger argument for a ban on soft drinks, advocates would do
well to prove that in drinking soda pop, individuals cause harm not only to themselves, but also to
others.
To consume soft drinks to the point of excess can lead to the deterioration of an individual s
health. This may appear to be a self regarding action until one considers the cost such individuals
impose on taxpayers. Citizens whose unhealthy lifestyles regularly land them in the hospital eat up
government health care, at which point their actions cease to be self regarding and become
harmful to society at large. With this in mind, are we still to protect individuals liberty to drink
soda pop?
Soft drink firms may point to Mill in arguing that the accountability for such harm lies not with
soda, but with the society that raises gluttonous individuals. If grown people are incapable of
properly taking care of themselves, society must consider that it has had absolute power over
them during all the early portion of their existence; it has had the whole period of childhood and
nonage in which to try whether it could make them capable of rational conduct in life (80). It is on
this point that we must consider the role that mass media plays in the world today. The
pervasiveness of corporate advertising in the U.S.

Studies and Techniques for Teaching Children with Autism
There are many diseases and disorders that plague today s world, but one of the most serious of
those disorders is autism. In fact, autism is the third most common developmental disability
affecting four hundred thousand people worldwide (Autism Society of America). As of yet there is
no treatment for autism, only a variety of dealing with this disorder. Autism is a process disorder of
brain function. People with autism have trouble in communication, social interactions and play
activities. This disorder makes it difficult for them to connect to the outside world. It is difficult for
them to communicate with other people. In some cases people with autism has Aggressive and self
injurious behavior. They may represent repeated body movement, such as rocking or hands flapping
and unusual speak to people. They also represent sensitivities in the five senses of sight, hearing,
touch, taste and smell. Autism usually appears during the first three years and continues throughout
life. Introduction
There has been a number of studies on the behavior and development of children with Autism. This
paper talks about four different types of studies about techniques teaching children with autism such
as communication, socialization, cognitive development, and a number of other areas in children.
The fist article is applied behavior analysis (ABA), by Ole Ivar Lovaas. The second article is a
study called pivotal behaviors (PRT) by Richard Simpson of the University of Kansas. The third

The Necklace And Viva La Vida By Coldplay
As shown in the short story The Necklace, everyone occasionally makes mistakes that lead to
difficult times. The main character, Mathilde, loses a extravagant diamond necklace borrowed
from a close friend. After laboring tirelessly to earn off the expensive jewelry, Mathilde realizes
the true values that are important in life. The song Viva La Vida by Coldplay has a similar
theme. A story about a king cast down from his throne and forced to work in the streets
resembles Mathilde s situation. The stories both tell a tale of an individual who has lost their
status and becomes a lowly servant. While Mathilde was not a king, both stories include a tragic
story as each tries to cope with their new lifestyle. From Viva La Vida, I used

How I Enhanced My Citation Skills
The semester has been a learning experience and an adjustment. The Gender Bending in Rock, Pop,
and Hip Hop course was an eye opening and informative experience. It not only taught me about
gender bending, various talented artists, and styles of music but also a multitude of writing
techniques and elements. These writing elements have helped me further strengthen my writing
ability. There are two elements that I have found to be extremely helpful throughout numerous
writing assignments are citations and supporting paragraphs. In this essayI will talk about how I
enhanced my citationskills, learned the power of supporting paragraphs and can pass the knowledge
onto others.
To have a strong impact on a reader and really cause them to think, change their minds, or learn
something new, as the writer, it is important to have strong supporting paragraphs. This was
something that I had previous knowledge of before it was discussed in class. Supporting
paragraphs are used to help the reader get the point that is trying to be made. They provide the
thesis with the supporting evidence that it needs. The thesis is the road map and the supporting
paragraphs are the pit stops along the way to the final destination. Each pit stop, has an adventure
making the overall journey a true learning experience. I applied this concept to my own work
when writing the research blog. The goal of my blog was to inform people about some
misconceptions of feminism and what feminism is. The

Analysis Of The Song Drifting Through The Waves
Amey Kamat Writing 151 Prof. Domitteo November 13, 2014 Drifting Through the Waves
Water has been a main factor through human histories life. Our human body is composed mostly
of water. Water helps our body by regulating the body s temperature, hydrating the body, help
clean the body and help lubricate your bones. People don t know that you can use water for other
purposes such as water rehabilitation. So to top it all off the Song waves by Mr. Probz was a
great edition to this paper. The song Waves is about how a guy that recently broke up with his
girlfriend and he s having trouble forgetting her. At the beginning of the song Mr. Probz wakes up
on a beach right in the shallow part of the water. To me it symbolizes that the beach and water are
there to help patch his wounds by forgetting his girlfriend. So with that water rehabilitation is
mainly used to help build back your strength, endurance, posture, mobility, and many more. Water
rehabilitation is used for major or even the simplest injuries. Injuries and injured parts of your body
tend to use water rehabilitation are ACL/MCL strains, arthritis, chronic pain, neck, shoulder, back,
strokes, knees and neurological disabilities. There have been many athletes that have used water
rehabilitation or aquatic rehab to help rehabilitate their body from major injuries. Aquatic
rehabilitation is one of the most useful types of rehabilitation and can be much more relaxing then
other rehabilitation techniques. Aquatic

What Is Commodity Fetishism
In Marxism, the value of things, commodities, are based on the money it can be sold for, or the
other commodities it can be traded for (exchange value), or the social status it confers to its owner
(sign exchange value), rather than valued for how it is used (use value). For an object to become a
commodity it has to have exchange value or sign exchange value, which is determined by the
society where the object it is exchanged. This economic relationship between commodities and their
exchange value or sign exchange value is called commodity fetishism. To understand this theory
better we can employ it to The Age of Innocence. Early in the novel, Newland emphasize the
significance of his means of travel: ..transported through the slippery,

Larv Parasitoids
Within the parasitic world, lies an abundant amount of organisms whose primary focus consist of
incubating itself within a host, sapping it of nutrients to further progress its own rate of growth.
Unlike many within this category, lies a special few who not only relies on its host to further
help in the breeding process, but also takes full control as well. These parasites are dubbed called
Parasitoids or often called either mind control bugs or zombie bugs for the sole purpose that it can
inject its host with a type of toxin, thus leaving them fully immobilized and leaving full control to
the parasite that is currently inhabiting it. The parasite will then begin to control things such as the
host movement, and behavior as well for a prolonged period of time, enough so that the parasites...

As an example, parasites are able to flourish by absorbing the nutrients of the organism that it
chooses to inhabit. In doing so, the parasite can be seen as having a home which while it may
cause some damage to the host, ultimately makes sure or attempts to cause fatal harm to the host.
This is because it wants to be able to inhabit it for as long as possible. When looking at a predator
/ prey relationship, the predator would fundamentally find nourishment from many other organisms
in its environment and does not rely on one single host . The primary goal is to be able to gather
as much energy as it physically can so it can move on to its next prey. What makes parasitoids
unique is that it takes characteristics from both of these relationships in order to continue with its
life cycle. An Adult parasitoid would inject its young into that of other insects. Once the larvae is
developed, It would then carry on to feed from the inside of its host gathering nutrients until it
reaches adulthood. Once done, they will leave the host thus continuing on with the

Evaluation Of Processed Meats And Other Types Of Cancer
In 2014, an International Advisory Committee convened and recommended the evaluation of
processed and red meats by the International Agency of Research on Cancer (IARC) Monographs
Programme. This recommendation was prompted by studies suggesting some sort of association
between increases in cancer and processed in red meats. 22 experts from 10 countries, reviewed
800 studies and confirmed the positive association of processed and red meats to various types of
cancer. The IARC classified red meatin the group 2A category as probably carcinogenic to
humans, due to limited evidence. The IARC classified processed meats in the Group 1 listing,
along with tobacco smoking and asbestos, as carcinogenic to humans, due to sufficient evidence. It
has been proven that Red meats are categorized as beef, lamb, veal, pork, mutton, horse and goat
(Simon, S., 2015). Processed meats are meats that have been altered to enhance flavor or to improve
preservation through processes such as: salting, curing, fermentation, and smoking. Some examples
of processed meats include but are not limited to bacon, ham and sausage (Simon, S., 2015).
Colorectal cancer has the highest incidence in association to red and processed meats, stomach,
pancreatic and prostate cancer have weaker associations. Colorectal Cancer (CRC), is the third
most common cancer worldwide and the fourth most common cancer resulting in death, accounting
for more than 600,000 deaths every year. Incidence rates are highest North

Intermolecular Forces Lab Report
Introduction
The strengths of intermolecular forces such as dipole dipole, London dispersion and hydrogen
bonding of various substances change over a wide range. However, intermolecular forces are much
weaker than covalent bonds and ionic bonds. It requires less energy to overcome intermolecular
attractions of molecules in a liquid to vaporize them as compared to the energy needed to break
their covalent bonds. When molecules change from solid to liquid to gas, the molecules themselves
do not change while their intermolecular forces change.
Dipole dipole forces occur between molecules which are polar neutral. Polar molecules interact
when the positive end of one molecule is close to the negative end of another molecule. The
strengths of intermolecular ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both 1 bromobutane and 1 iodobutane have dipole dipole forces interaction. However, 1
iodobutane requires more energy for it to vaporize than 1 bromobutance since the strengths of
intermolecular forces increase with an increase in polarity (more dipole dipole forces interaction)
of molecules. 1 iodobutane is more polar than 1 bromobutane.
1, 3 dibromopropane has a higher heat of vaporization (47.890KJ/mol) than that of 1 butanol
(41.9KJ/mol) over the same temperature range (413 550K). 1, 3 dibromopropane has stronger
dipole dipole interaction between the bromine attached to carbon number one and three
respectively. Even though 1 butanol has hydrogen bonding forces, the existence of two atoms in
the structure of propane make 1, 3 dibromopropane stronger than 1 butanol. Therefore, 1, 3
dibromopropane needs more energy as compared to 1 butanol for it to vaporize.
1, 3 propanediol has more heat of vaporization (57.2 KJ/mol) than 1, 3 dibromopropane
(47.890KJ/mol) at the same temperature range (332 448K). 1, 3 propanediol has stronger
hydrogen bonding interactions at carbon number one and three of propane as compared to the
dipole dipole interactions that take place at carbon one and three of propane. Hence, more energy
is needed to vaporize 1, 3 propanediol than 1, 3 dibromopropane.

The Effects Of Social Support On Students
In this rapidly developing world that we live in, there are many factors which forces mankind to
perform harder. Whether it be in education or employment, the fact that there is so much
competition in attaining the best possible result has led to a world where people are increasingly
fatigued and live with constant stress. In particular, many undergraduate students travel lengthy
distances from home to different parts of the world to achieve the best education they can obtain.
In turn, this can cause acculturative stress and increase levels of anxiety. Therefore, having an
active social support network can be beneficial for undergraduate students dealing with this issue.
Social support is broadly defined as the extent of a person s social... Show more content on

Thus, social support of a high quality can enhance resilience to stress and is exceptionally
important for maintaining good physical and mental health. (Ozbay , Johnson , Dimoulas, Morgan,
III, Charney , Southwich , 2007). There are two important aspects of social support: (1) the
structural aspect, which consists of social ties and social integration where it indicates people s
relationships and how those relationships are patterned or organized, and (2) the functional aspect,
which consists of emotional support such as receiving love, encouragement and sympathy;
informational support such as providing facts, advice and/or appraisal and instrumental assistance
practical help such as supplying behavioural or material assistance. These social supports can come
from both primary and secondary groups. Primary groups are small in size, informal, intimate and
enduring; examples include friends, family and relatives. Whereas secondary groups tend to be
larger and interactions between members are more informal some examples include work,
voluntary and religious organisations (Thoits P. A., 2011).
To some the notion of starting out at a new school with a completely new dynamic can be daunting.
Coupled with this, some undergraduate students may find themselves in a brand new country of a
somewhat alien culture and tackling this can be one of the biggest challenges. Primary support
groups can provide emotional sustenance to an

Importance Of Heroes In Modern Society
The term hero is attained from the ancient Greeks. In the mind of the Greeks, a hero was a
mortal who had succeeded beyond the normal scope of human experience, in which received
worship as if he or she was a god. Examples of these heroes are Asclepius, the first doctor;
Dionysus, the creator of Greek fraternities; and Hercules, the infamous monster killer. While these
people completed honorable deeds, other people who had committed crimes were also known as
heroes. These people include Oedipus and Medea who also received worship after their deaths.
These men and women have had relevance in society for many generations, and continue to have
relevance in today s society. To the Greeks, heroes were always doing something extraordinary. It

Although we know everything about ancient heroes, certain heroes past and present are certainly
cryptic. Those who looked up to George Washington or Thomas Jefferson as heroes would be
surprised to know that they once held slaves. Heroism in the ancient age was much different
because of the fact that you could be a hero if you did something that was thought to be
impossible, although it might be a criminal deed. In modern society, heroes are only looked at as
someone who accomplished something of great importance. We as a society look at Navy SEALs
or Army Rangers as heroes, while the definition was much more expansive in ancient society.
While politicians might be looked at as a hero to certain people, others most definitely do not view
them as this because of the corrupt aura that surrounds them. The cynicism in individuals today is
much different, then when the ancient civilizations were deciding who were heroes. Heroism has
been an ever changing definition in the world. The study of such heroes and heroism helps modern
day society shape the world. Many people might look up to Odysseus or Achilles as their hero,
while a more modern man might look up to Jim Brown or Jackie Robinson as a hero. If it were
not for the ancient Greeks, the idea of a hero might not exist in our society. Thankfully the idea
does exist and these heroes help motivate us to strive for a better life. Cynicism can often be used

Biography of Henry Food
Henry Ford is the man who forever changed American automobiles. Henry Ford converted the
automobile from a luxury toy to a mainstream item of American society. During the beginning of
the 20th century, the automobile was considered a luxury for the wealthy but Ford was determined
to create an affordable and reliable car that a majority of Americans could invest in. This model that
Henry Fordcreated was called the Model T, and it is one of the main reasons why Henry Ford is
remembered as an extremely influential person in American society. Ford s ability to apply new
ideas to complicated problems and create something that is convenient for the average american is
the cause of his success; his assembly line, fordism and implementation also contributed immensely
to this success. Henry Ford was born in GreenField Township, Michigan on July 30th, 1863. He is
the founder of Ford Motor Companywhich still exists today; he was also one of the principal
American industrialists during the 20th century. At the start of the 20th century, automobiles were
considered toys for the wealthy, Ford was determined to change this perspective. Henry Ford
wanted to change the image of an automobile for America, he urged the creation of a cheaper,
more affordable and reliable car that all could enjoy and invest in. Although, Ford never physically

laid out on the table, and we chose which idea that was consistent with our presentation style.
Each member was allowed to express his or her opinions freely, and I had enough trust in Christy
to know which idea would or wouldn t work. Another way of explaining the scale of leadership
is this by comparing it to the rank of power in the American Government. Christy is president,
Daniel is Vice President, Allison is the Secretary of State, and Brian is Secretary of Defense. I
can t judge where I fit in there because that wouldn t be fair to me group members if I rank my
self higher than what I really was. When we got together for our work sessions, as individuals we
took on our roles of listeners, talkers, advisers, comedians, daydreamers, and so on. Of course the
majority of the time we spent was covering the material, but at one point or another we would end

South Park Censorship
Freedom of expression entitles humans to articulate our own unique vocabulary, especially when
their opinions differ from others. South Park is a notorious paragon tackling censorship
boundaries with brilliant wordplay every episode and implementing freedom of speech. For me,
the program serves as a weekly litmus test of censorship and freedom of expression. South Parkis
the brainchild of college friends Trey Parkerand Matt Stone. This TV show, on the Comedy
Central Network, is a cartoon but not for children. On August 13, 1997, the first airing, South Park
became the first major cable program to get the TV MA rating (for mature audiences only). The
main characters are Stan Marsh, Kyle Broflovski, Eric Cartman, the forever dying Kenny

South Park wanted to show homage to the French satirical paper that published comedic pictures
of Muhammad. The creators dedicated 200 and 201 to the paper after their own convictions;
both episodes would feature Muhammad as well. Comedy Central received threats of extreme
violence if the prophet Muhammad was displayed in any way on the show. The creative group
behind South Park was prepared to endure the repercussions of their comedy. In 200,
Muhammad is in a truck to include, but exclude the character from vision. I think they were
concerned about the approach of giving in to the ultimatum, and essentially backing down
altogether. The boundaries regarding freedom of expression should not adjust to the whims or
threats of bullies otherwise known as terrorists. The network received more threats of terror and
the morning of the airing of 201, the network censored Muhammad with a giant box all over his
face with CENSORED written on it. There are no copies of 201 uncensored available whatsoever
and you can only watch the episode on the commemorative DVD package of the season. There is
still absolutely no streaming of any kind for either episode, almost 10 years

Macrophage Cell
The Macrophage cell is a part of the Immune system (the immune system protect your body from
virus, bacteria and pathogens) The word microphage actually means big eater. The job of the
Macrophage is to inform other cell in the immune system (mainly the natural killer cells) that there
is virus and bacteria or pathogen, then the immune systemwill come to kill the bacteriaor virus.
Macrophages will join the fight against foreign bodies by digesting enemies by process called
Phagocytosis. It is broken down into a couple of steps:
1.Pseudopod reach out and grabs the bacteria.
2.As the bacteria is swallowed in the cell phagosome is formed around it to prevent escape.
3.A lysosome reacts with the phagosome, releasing enzymes like the ones in stomach.
4.The bacteria get digested.
5.The remains of bacteria exit the cell to get absorbed back into the body.

What drives the macrophage to find the cut is still unknown. One way scientist is studying this is
by looking progress from a pro inflammatory tissue and studying it until it is anti inflammatory.
This study on the cell for regenerative medicine has several positive implications, few are:
1)to provide rationale for a macrophage centric approach to tissue reconstruction
2)to give an overview of the current state of the understanding of the implications associated with
host macrophage responses in regenerative medicine.
However, disease like HLH (Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis) related to the macrophage cell
can cause sufficient harm to body.
In conclusion minimum disadvantage occurring seldom, macrophage has tremendous advantage in

Why Math Is Important For Teaching Mathematics And How...
Math Philosophy Paper Math is developing concepts or standards that s important for teaching
mathematics to students from Pre K to high school. In our changing world, those who understand
and can do mathematics will have significant opportunities and options for shaping their future.
(NCTM 2000, p.50). The two important tools to be an effective teacher is knowledge of
mathematics and how students learn mathematics. The purposes of math educationeffect our life
since the time we were able to walk. We were taught how to count on our fingers to being able to
write our numbers to ten. Then as we got older, concepts were more challenging and involved
critical thinking to solve the problems. In society today, math is being utilized in simple to complex
avenues such as grocery shopping, measuring, budgeting, investments, architecture, science and
technology to name a few. If we take a look around our environment signs, buildings, bridges,
streets and just the different patterns and shapes all relate back to mathematics. My role as a math
teacher in the classroom would be creating an inviting math environment for my students, being
able to explain math to all my students in ways that they understand and model math in an
effective way. I want to be a leader, share my knowledge, engage and challenge my students,
support them, respect them, be positive and keep them interested in math. The qualities I would
have as an effective teacher is the knowledge and skills and the

Tone Of Letter From Birmingham Jail
Well known speaker, writer, and so much more, Martin Luther King Jr., in his letter, Letter from
Birmingham Jail, provides a powerful and insightful look into what it is like being a black person
during the time when America was in a battle, so to speak, against segregation. Kings purpose is
to provide his readers, eight clergymen whom called his actions unwise and untimely (King 800),
with an insight on what it is like trying to make a change in the world through peaceful negotiation
but continually getting little to no result. He provides a compelling tone in order to gain the
sympathy of the eight clergymen he was as addressing along with all his present and even future
readers. King begins his letter by explaining that he is in Birmingham... Show more content on

moves to explaining all the many different reasons he is gravely disappointed with the white
moderate reasons such as being, more devoted to order than to justice; who prefers a negative
peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who
constantly says: I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of
direct action ; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man s freedom;
who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a more
convenient season. ( King 805 ) He continues to elaborate on why he is so disappointed in the
white community until he begins to shift to a different route leading to the church, Christians, and
even God. He ends his letter by apologizing to the clergymen for writing such a long letter,
explaining that the only reason his letter is so long is because of where he is with nothing better to
do than to write, think and pray.
After analyzing Letter from Birmingham Jail, you could reasonably conclude that King has
written an effective argument that is likely to convince his readers that his presence in
Birmingham is both justified and necessary. (Kirszner and Mandell 102) King is successfully able
to portray his thoughts and feelings to his readers by explaining why it is necessary to take more
forceful measures but also explaining how said measures can be

Paulo Faire s The Banking Concept Of Education
INTRODUCTIONImagine you are a thirty four year old female patient. You arrived at the
hospital after falling down a flight of stairs with an exceedingly high blood pressure (165/109), a
high blood glucose level (450), abdominal pain, and are disoriented. These are symptoms of
diabetic ketoacidosis, a complication of uncontrolled diabetes. You are from Guatemala and have
no family members in the United States. There are doctors and nurses surrounding you. They keep
asking you questions. You don t understand what they are saying but you know they are trying to

Teacher give information and students are the audience. There is no feedback or creativity. The
teacher is the ultimate authority of the knowledge. The banking concept of education is the
teaching process I have witnessed how healthcare providers teach their patient. The physician or
nurse is just telling the patient information and expecting the patient to just understand. I have been
told by professors and clinical instructors that the patient is the expert of their own health. They
know what works for them and what does not. I have learned that patients may not understand the
complexities of the anatomy and physiology of the body, but they can understand some things of
their care. Healthcare providers should switch the Problem solving model where there is a

Remembering Hurricane Mitch
In 1998 we had seen the deadliest hurricane of the 20th century hit the Caribbean, Central America
and parts of South America. This natural disaster had massive effects on the region from
environmental to economic effects. It sent numerous countries in to a state of emergency and was
fighting to keep their countries in order. This paper will focus on the aftermath and effects
Hurricane Mitchhad on the region.
Hurricane Mitch had brought widespread destruction and turmoil to many countries in the
Caribbean and Latin America. This hurricane was very interesting because it had lasted from
October 22, 1998 until November 9, 1998. Over this period of time it had turned in to a Category 5
hurricane which is the strongest one can get to. A Category 5 hurricane is when winds reach in
excess of 157 mph. Catastrophic damage will occur and a high percentage of framed homes will be
destroyed, with total roof failure and wall collapse. Fallen trees and power poles will also happen
in isolated areas. This being a Category 5 Hurricane was able to last for a long time and was felt as
far south as Panama and eventually hit as far north as Florida.
Honduras
The first country Hurricane Mitch made landfall with was Honduras and subsequently it was also
the one that took the greatest amount of damage. It was so large and devastating that it had reached
just about the whole population while it hovered over the country for days. While it slowly hovered
over Honduras it had dumped torrential

The Importance Of Self-Regulation In Young Children
The importance of self regulation in young children should be a common topic in the world of
teaching. The idea of self regulation is a simple one, self regulation is a mechanism enabling to
control one s impulses and, doing something that is needed (Aras, 2015). Without self regulation,
students can hardly progress to higher levels of understanding. In Selda Aras article Promoting Self
Regulations in the Early Years: Tolls of the Mind
she explains that without the right set of skills
students will have difficulty learning in a classroom setting (2015). When a student enters school
they are not there just for academic purposes, they are there to learn how to interact socially and
emotionally as well. If those topics are not addressed early on in a child s life normal things can
become difficult. Aras uses Lev Vygotsky and the Tools of the Mind program to explain how best to
implement self regulation in students. This gives the impression that she believes all children
should be in a Tools of the Mind program and that might be the author s preference she does give
several ideas as to further children s self regulation skills. These ideas can be used in the average
classroom, daycare or home, they are simple changes to ideas already in place that can help children
to develop better social and emotional understanding. These ideas included focusing on the students
rather than the lesson plan, having the students help make the classroom rules, putting students in
situations that they have to understand what they have done. Implementing self regulation does not
have to be difficult it can be little things that help students understand themselves and their
classmates. Another concept Aras found important was the myths that surround self regulation and
how they can adversely affect students and teachers. As a future teacher, it is vital for me to know
and understand these myths. Many of the myths I never thoughtas harmful to learners, such as the
ideathat we need to wait for children to grow into their maturity before they are taught more
regulatory skills. Children can start developing the skills necessary to self regulate before they
fully understand the need for it. Or that some people have the idea

The Splatterhouse Video
Before watching the clips, I was feeling content. I was not frustrated with anything or anyone, I was
calm and I just watched a few funny videos, which brought my mood up even more. During the first
video, immediately, my thoughts were about the quality of the animation and the story line. As for
the violence, I didn t like looking at it. I tried to turn away a few times. I think that there was an
excessive amount of gore that could have been easily cut out, but it wasn t, because the viewers or
the gamers like it.
The second video was a lot worse in my opinion. The Splatterhouse video had some sort of story
line beside the gore, but this video only showed a first point view of a person killing people in
many different ways. Because of the quality of the video, I didn t actually see anything too graphic,
but just the idea of people enjoying this game made me a little scared for our society.
During the third video, I thought about how believable the scenes were. The lighting ... Show more

Gore and violence doesn t interest me and I actually turn away from the screen any time there s
a graphic scene in a movie, which explains why these clips didn t have any effect on me. The
only clip that slightly interested me was Saw. I thought that the story line was interesting, but I
still wouldn t watch the actual movie, because of the violent scenes that I would have to watch.
Though I had almost no interest in these videos and found most of the scenes repulsive, I caught
myself on the thought that by the time I was watching the fourth video, I got used to the violence
portrayed in these videos. If the first video made me want to turn away from the screen, the last
video had no effect on me at all. I believe that this explains the mere exposure theory. The only
thing I did was sit and watch a few clips, but the effect was that I became immune to the violence

Girl By Jamaica Kincaid
Mothers nag us with chores and tell us to straighten up when we mess up, but mothers always
know best and do everything out of love for their children. The short story Girl by Jamaica Kincaid
demonstrates this in a list of instructions a mother gives to her daughter to help her live a successful
life. Directions that are listed involve food, clothes, social skills, health, and protection of public
image. Together these tasks assist in characterizing the motherand daughter. In Girl, Jamaica
Kincaid employs characterization through the characters actions, conflict, and dialogue to reveal
the mother s tough loveand the daughter s immaturity. At first, Kincaid s story seems to be an
arbitrary list of actions a strict mother tells her daughter,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first time Kincaid shows this conflict is when the mother says walk like a lady and not like
the slut you are so bent on becoming Secondly, when teaching her daughter how to dress, the
mother shows how to hem a dress to prevent yourself from looking like the slut I know you are so
bent on becoming (Kincaid #). Both times the mother refers to her daughter s desire to become a
slut, Kincaid exposes the daughter s immaturity and misunderstanding of social norms. In the
daughter s youth, she does not understand how to dress and act in pubic, so the mother reprimands
her by identifying the bad behavior and provides instruction for the proper way to act. Although the
mother s instructions are very clear, the daughter still becomes a slut. Later, the mother instructs
this is how to behave in the presence of men who don t know you very well, and this way they won
t recognize immediately the slut I have warned you against becoming revealing the daughter, at this
point in the story, has become a slut (Kincaid #). The daughter s direct defiance of her mother s
instructions shows her lack of respect and immaturity. Even though the daughter has gone against
her mother, the mothers love for her daughter is still apparent by the help she continues to provide.
Through the conflict between the mother and daughter, Kincaid portrays the daughter s defiance
and mother s endless

The Family Tree Short Story
The Family Tree
Our story begins in Greece, many years ago. A baby was born in the city of Athens. Her name was
Oakley. Oakley had brown, long hair with big hazel eyes. Her parents adored her.
Eighteen years passed by and there was a big riot going on in Athens in protest of Zeus letting
Hades capture Persephone. Zeus wanted to teach the citizens of Athens a lesson by sending them
terrible storms. Innocent Oakley didn t know about the threats from Zeus, but her parents did.
Her parents didn t want Oakley to fear of the storm coming their way, so they didn t tell her. Her
parents also didn t want to leave Athens themselves, they knew they didn t have the energy to do
so. In result, they had to try and get Oakley to move by herself, without letting her know of the
great dangers ahead. Oakley was in her room, sewing a new blanket for her bed. Her mother
called for her to come downstairs. So of course, she made her way downstairs and saw her
parents sitting on the couch, with a depressed look on their face. What s wrong? said Oakley.
Honey, we have some news for you. We are sending you off to Corfu. said her mother. Oakleys
face turned red. She seemed like she had smoke coming out of her ears. Are you trying to get rid
of me? said Oakley. What did I ever do to you? Nothing, nothing, said her father. This is for your
own safety darling. What is going on? I m completely happy here in Athens! You must tell me why
you are shipping me off to another city! said

The Development of Antibiotic Resistance
For many years people have wondered why the antibiotics that are used so commonly nowadays
are not as effective as they once were. Just like organisms evolve throughout time, resistance to
certain things can also evolve. This resistance however is not something that happens naturally but
rather is a man made process which was caused via the misuse, overuse, and/or underuse of
antibiotics (Davies 2010). The author Davies explains that there is no better example of the
Darwinian notions of selection and survival than the spread of antibiotic resistanceand how the
bacteria have evolved with traits that make them that way. The more people use antibiotics,
especially when not necessary, the higher the chance of bacteria in the body growing resistant to
those antibiotics. Major problems have arisen such as cells becoming resistant to antibiotics
because its selection pressure is reduced or eliminated. This means that one must counteract this by
continually increasing the antibiotic concentration in proportion to the increased resistance
(Rosenthal and Elowitz 2012). To understand how bacteria became resistant to antibiotics, one must
first understand the origin of antibiotics and its introduction into the body. Once these antibiotics
were discovered and first started being used, it was not long after that that they regrettably were
accompanied by the appearance of some resistant strains as well. The development of antibiotic
resistance is persistent especially because

Free Trade Is The Policy Of Unrestricted Purchasing And...
Free trade is the policy of unrestricted purchasing and selling of goods between nations without
the imposition of barriers, such as tariffs and quotas. For example, if an American company
wanted to import a good to Canada, they would be able to do so free of import taxes. This is as a
result of NAFTA, the North American Free Trade Agreement
, which allows free trade between
Canada, the United States, and Mexico. This is done in order to promote international trade
between the different zones. The theory of free trade is that, without the increase in transport cost
that comes from tariffs, imported goods are less expensive. This means, for a country such as the
United States of America, that consumer prices should drop while exports should increase, since
the price to export has lessened considerably. The most common counter to this idea, however, is
the fact that there are some nations, such as China, that lack the worker protections that are in place
in the United States. This means that manufacturing costs are far cheaper in some foreign nations.
As a result, American workers, being unable to compete with the low wages being paid to workers
in other countries, are forced into unemployment by outsourcing. This, in theory, leads to a
weakened middle class whose purchasing power is severely diminished. This has come to the
forefront of recent politics, given the positions of various presidential candidates on this important
issue. Some, such as Bernie Sanders and Donald

  • 2. Seeing A Chiropractor Essay 5 Benefits of Seeing a Chiropractor Anyone who has experienced the pain associated with a neck or spine injury can likely tell you how debilitating such a condition can be. Experiencing relief at the hands of an experienced chiropractor can make all the difference in terms of quality of life. While chiropractors are certainly qualified to assist in back and neck issues, they may also offer a variety of other advantages to their clients. The following are some of the top benefits of seeing a chiropractor in El Cajon. 1. Preventing and Relieving Depression Chronic pain can take its toll on the body, and it may drain a person of energy. Over time, dealing with chronic pain may lead to chronic depression. An individual who is in pain may need... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hypertension is associated with some serious health conditions, including cardiovascular disease. When a chiropractor performs a specific type of procedure for several weeks, the result may be even more effective than taking blood pressure medication. This could lead to a healthier overall condition for the client but the person should still follow the various dietary and exercise recommendations for people with hypertension. 4. Better Athletic Performance Many athletes are aware of the benefits of chiropractic treatment, and chiropractors have been used for decades by some of the top athletes in the world. Getting a chiropractic adjustment can help to align the spine, which may then offer better support to the muscles. This can enhance athletic performance not just for professional athletes, but for anyone who wishes to remain active and healthy by engaging in sports. 5. Lower Medical and Pharmaceutical Bills Chiropractic treatment is a great natural alternative to many of the medical treatments and pharmaceutical options available today. A person who does not wish to undergo surgery or manage pain with pain medication may want to consider chiropractic care. In many cases, people with acute or chronic pain are able to avoid traditional medical treatment ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Cultural Issues and the Psychological Framework Cultural Issues and the Psychological Framework Some of the many cultural issues faced by human resource managers are communication including communicating company culture, language barriers, understanding the business etiquette in other countries, the concept of face that is recognized in many cultures, and that employees may have some amount of fear when they are immersed in the new culture. Geert Hofstedecreated a cultural framework based on five dimensions of psychology to offer some understanding of different cultural issues (Ahlstrom Bruton, 2010, p. 47). Applying the Cultural Framework Hofstede based his framework on five basic dimensions power distance, individualism collectivism, uncertainty avoidance, production orientation, and Confucian dynamism (Ahlstrom Bruton, 2010, p. 47). Some of these dimensions can be used to analyze some of the different cultural issues that affect HRM and explain why issues exist between cultures. Power Distance Power Distance represents the measurement by which less powerful employees acknowledge the power exerted by those with more power (Clearly Cultural, 2014, para. 1). This index explains why certain cultures may have issues with communication. Those countries which have a very high power distance, such as Malaysia, would have a culture where lower level employees would not question instructions given by management. An expatriate working in Malaysia would need to understand this concept in order to communicate properly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Educational Achievement Gap Between Minorities And Non... Race in America is and has always been an enormous deal and a focal point in America and of many educational studies. Many studies have researched the educational achievement gap between minorities and non minorities. I rather refer to it as the educational debt we as educators owe those students, this study looks at the idea of having more teachers of color in hopes to pay our debt of educationback to these minority students. I surveyed over 100 minority students to gauge their attitudes concerning learning, motivation, confidence and much more to see how it differs from their minority teacher class and their non minority teacher class. I also looked at grades of 20 students and was able to view a survey done about my class compared to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore, the only thing I could think of is my race. I am one of very few African Americans on the campus and one of few African Americanmale teachers in the school district. Although most schools in the district have over 90% minority students, which is not the case when it comes to the numbers of minority educators in the classroom. This is not just a problem in my school district or just in California but one seen across the nation. Today in the United States minority students have actually become the majority in the classroom. With this change, there has not been any uptick of teachers of color. One place where there is a great disparity is Boston, for every 52 Latino students there is only one Hispanic teacher, and one black teacher for every 22 African American students (Rich, 2015). This is not a new problem or one that can be fixed with just money, a stroke of a pen or with this study but will take a number of things to happen. Many studies have cited for years the importance of role models for minority students but for some reason, they still do not have these role models and it is not concrete that these role models will help produce a positive effect on the learning abilities of minority students. The idea that a stroke of a pen or in other words policy, could add more teachers of color and instantly close the gap . This idea has led to call for mass recruitment of minority teachers (see, for example, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Difference Between Tfsa And Rrsp What is a Registered Retirement Savings Plan? Many know Registered Retirement Savings Plan as an investment vehicle where Canadians can put money aside for retirement. However, there s more to an RRSP than its intention of a retirement savings. RRSP is registered with the CRA, in accordance with the income tax act, to allow individuals to get a tax deduction for the amount they contribute (up to a certain limit) to their RRSP. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Usually, a taxpayer will pay less tax on the funds that are withdrawn closer to retirement as the MTR will be lower. However, the RRSP do offer plans such as the Home Buyers Plan and the Lifelong Learning Plan where the taxpayer is allowed to withdraw up to a certain limit without getting taxed but is expected to be paid back within a certain number of years. The Home Buyers Plan (HBP) allows an individual to withdraw up to $25,000 from their RRSP to build or buy a qualifying home. The withdrawals won t be treated like a regular withdrawal where it doesn t have to be included in the income of the individual. However, the amount withdrawn under the HBP must be repaid within 15 years installments or else missed payments will treated like a regular withdrawal and would be included in the taxable income for the year. The Lifelong Learning Plan (LLP) allows an individual to withdraw up to $20,000 over four calendar years to help finance for full time education for themselves or they spouse/common law partner. Like the HBP, the amount withdrawn won t be taxed as a normal withdrawal but must be paid back within 10 years in installments. • 6. Examples Of Tribulation In Sula In the novel Sula, the characters Nel and Sula experience tribulation during their childhood that eventually affected each of them differently as they transition into adulthood. Sula was an unpredictable and violent child whereas Nel was quiet and reserved. As they became close friends throughout their childhood, their times of terror unravel. Sulas actions throughout her childhood are seen as threats as the community blames her for everything, yet she continues to live freely disregarding everyone else s opinions. The tribulation seen throughout Sula s life is essentially because of society s constant hatred and blaming her for every tragedy. As she transitions from childhood to early adulthood, she believes that society has so much hatred... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As Nel s household is represented as the standard essence of a family, Sula lives in a multigenerational household that is operated by women. The houses symbolize the change that happens within the family and the girls themselves. Eva said yes, but inside she disagreed and remained convinced that Sula had watched her Hannah burn not because she was paralyzed, but because she was interested (Morrison, 78). This further challenges Sula as Eva blames her for the death of her own mother. This could be essentially Eva s own way to deal with Hannah s death by defining Sula as the source of the tragedy. This eventually leads to the whole community in the future as they also see Sula s presence as evil . Although being blamed and defined as the fault for every catastrophe, Sula is not affected and lives her life without any concern. Nel s response to Jude s shame and anger selected her away from Sula. And greater than her friendship was this new feeling of being needed... (Morrison, 83). Although Nel chose to marry young in order to fulfill Helene s wishes, she has reduced the possibilities in her life. As she gets closer to her marriage, she slowly begins to lose Sula. Even though the marriage is essentially a joyful event, Jude, Sula s husband, only married for the alternative of what he really wanted, a man s job. This shows how Nel trying to satisfy society results in her own mishap and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It will feature the overall story, evidence, and my obstacle of finding the best college for me. This paper has a strong sense regarding to the definition of misfit doing something out of ordinary to where I m at as a collegestudent. Now, onto my experience. I was sitting in Study Hall then I overheard a conversation between a student and teacher regarding this program called Futures Lab, which is a program to guide students into college. This conversation inspired me to leave Study Hall; to check out Futures Lab so I d started searching Special Needs Colleges which gave me a surplus of colleges to look from such as Landmark, Mitchell and Beacon Colleges. The first website that intrigued me was Mitchell College; which was first on my top choices of schools as it provided train transportation and my major, which is Television Communications. One of two things that I did was, doing a virtual tour of campus as that s when my excitement was out of control since Mitchell was the college that was a perfect fit at that certain time. Then the second thing that I did was; I had recorded information in my notebook and printed about fifteen pages of paper on Mitchell College to give to my parents for them to read why Mitchell was the right place for me to get my education. A student who is a self directed, intrinsically motivated, active learner will own their goals, setting their goals based on their specific needs, wants, and abilities. They will watch to ensure that their goals are being met. The methods used by the active learner to achieve his/her goals will change depending on the opportunities and challenges encountered over time, but the core goals should stay the same. Otherwise, the active learner will be overcome by distractions and disillusionment. Dr. W. Edwards Demingis a man that I admire. He was the chief statistician for the United Stated during World War II. After the war, he was sent to Japan to assist with the process of rebuilding the nation s industries. He believed that the Japanese could go from being the worst in the world to being the best by utilizing statistical methods. He believed that the Japanese could take over a world market in five years if they followed his advice (Asq.org, 2015). Demming stated I was the only man in Japan who believed that Japanese industry could do that. and They beat my prediction. I had said it would need five years. It took four. (Asq.org, 2015). Later, the Toyota Corporation based their quality systems on Dr. Demming s teachings. Solomon Asch Conformity Experiment The Solomon Asch s Conformity Study is an experiment where a standard line is shown to an audience along with three other lines: one will be longer, one will be shorter, one will be the exact same line as the standard. The goal is to identify which is the same line A, B, or C and the answer was always obvious. The task is simple, but a person will be the only real participant in the room while the seven others are confederates who were pretending to be participants and who were trying to use social pressure to get the participant to conform with the majority group. For example, if the real answer was A, the confederates would try to throw off the real participant by saying the answer is B. With the majority saying B is the correct answer, the real participant would agree with them, even knowing the answer is wrong because everyone else didn t say A. The experiment was tested on 50 male students from Swarthmore College, and on average, about 32% of the participants conformed to the incorrect answer with the majority. ... This revealed the power of a group where the odd one out would give in and agree with the majority in order to fit in. However, this destroys a person s judgement. Asch s response to the results was that The tendency to conformity in our society is so strong that reasonably intelligent and well meaning young people are willing to call white black. • 13. The Role Of Diversity And Its Role For Journalism What is the role of diversity in the newsroom? Use of the term diversity and its role in journalism only calls attention to the lack of it in newsrooms and magazines across the country. In their absence, I d argue that the true value of having people of various ethnic and racial backgrounds present in the newsroom has as much to do with improving the process of newsgathering and reporting as it does achieving racial parity. In short, I think the role of diversity in journalism is to make journalism better. For example, Donald Trump s recent visit to Mexico not only highlighted the divisions within the Republican Party but the junket also revealed the disparity as to who gets to tell the story of his bid for the Whitehouse. Aside from Trump s well publicized spat with the news anchor Jorge Ramos; it s apparent the journalists assigned to covering the Trump campaign have not been representative of the country s population at large. While they ve done a great job covering many aspects of his campaign, it s not the full story. Trump s visit to Mexico also illustrates the importance of bilingualism. Unless the reporters assigned to the press junket are Mexican American, a lot of cross cultural nuances and the true tenor of what is being said are likely to be missed. In newsrooms where minorities are under represented, I d also contend that major stories often go unreported. Unless, events reach the level of national scrutiny like the riots in Ferguson, or become a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In this essay, I will discuss static electricity, photocopiers, and how they play a role in the speed of mass production. Photocopiers play a role, even if indirectly, in impacting the environment. We are increasingly living in an era of pollution and scarcity of fundamental resources. One of these important and overused resources are trees. The paper making process places burden on some of our most important natural resources, as the production of paper uses large amounts of energy and water. The photocopying process also uses chemicals, such as chlorine, , which can cause damage to the environment. In addition, The United Nations Environment Programed (UNEP), has stated that paper in landfills can produce toxic greenhouse gases such as methane, which traps up to 21 times more heat than carbon dioxide . To consume soft drinks to the point of excess can lead to the deterioration of an individual s health. This may appear to be a self regarding action until one considers the cost such individuals impose on taxpayers. Citizens whose unhealthy lifestyles regularly land them in the hospital eat up government health care, at which point their actions cease to be self regarding and become harmful to society at large. With this in mind, are we still to protect individuals liberty to drink soda pop? Soft drink firms may point to Mill in arguing that the accountability for such harm lies not with soda, but with the society that raises gluttonous individuals. If grown people are incapable of properly taking care of themselves, society must consider that it has had absolute power over them during all the early portion of their existence; it has had the whole period of childhood and nonage in which to try whether it could make them capable of rational conduct in life (80). For an object to become a commodity it has to have exchange value or sign exchange value, which is determined by the society where the object it is exchanged. However, intermolecular forces are much weaker than covalent bonds and ionic bonds. When molecules change from solid to liquid to gas, the molecules themselves do not change while their intermolecular forces change. There were other figures who were against big business such as David A. Wells who believed that the creation of mass production techniques had eliminated workers pride in the quality of their work. Due to the large number of unskilled workers, manufacturing gave its workers boring, labor intensive jobs that focused on one aspect of a much larger system (Document C). Whether it be in education or employment, the fact that there is so much competition in attaining the best possible result has led to a world where people are increasingly fatigued and live with constant stress. In particular, many undergraduate students travel lengthy distances from home to different parts of the world to achieve the best education they can obtain. These social supports can come from both primary and secondary groups. Primary groups are small in size, informal, intimate and enduring; examples include friends, family and relatives. Whereas secondary groups tend to be larger and interactions between members are more informal some examples include work, voluntary and religious organisations (Thoits P. A., 2011). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although we know everything about ancient heroes, certain heroes past and present are certainly cryptic. Those who looked up to George Washington or Thomas Jefferson as heroes would be surprised to know that they once held slaves. Heroism in the ancient age was much different because of the fact that you could be a hero if you did something that was thought to be impossible, although it might be a criminal deed. In modern society, heroes are only looked at as someone who accomplished something of great importance. We as a society look at Navy SEALs or Army Rangers as heroes, while the definition was much more expansive in ancient society. While politicians might be looked at as a hero to certain people, others most definitely do not view them as this because of the corrupt aura that surrounds them. The cynicism in individuals today is much different, then when the ancient civilizations were deciding who were heroes. Heroism has been an ever changing definition in the world. The study of such heroes and heroism helps modern day society shape the world. Many people might look up to Odysseus or Achilles as their hero, while a more modern man might look up to Jim Brown or Jackie Robinson as a hero. Math Philosophy Paper Math is developing concepts or standards that s important for teaching mathematics to students from Pre K to high school. In our changing world, those who understand and can do mathematics will have significant opportunities and options for shaping their future. (NCTM 2000, p.50). The two important tools to be an effective teacher is knowledge of mathematics and how students learn mathematics. The purposes of math educationeffect our life since the time we were able to walk. We were taught how to count on our fingers to being able to write our numbers to ten. Then as we got older, concepts were more challenging and involved critical thinking to solve the problems. In society today, math is being utilized in simple to complex avenues such as grocery shopping, measuring, budgeting, investments, architecture, science and technology to name a few. If we take a look around our environment signs, buildings, bridges, streets and just the different patterns and shapes all relate back to mathematics. My role as a math teacher in the classroom would be creating an inviting math environment for my students, being able to explain math to all my students in ways that they understand and model math in an effective way. • 49. The Importance Of Self-Regulation In Young Children The importance of self regulation in young children should be a common topic in the world of teaching. The idea of self regulation is a simple one, self regulation is a mechanism enabling to control one s impulses and, doing something that is needed (Aras, 2015). Without self regulation, students can hardly progress to higher levels of understanding. In Selda Aras article Promoting Self Regulations in the Early Years: Tolls of the Mind she explains that without the right set of skills students will have difficulty learning in a classroom setting (2015). When a student enters school they are not there just for academic purposes, they are there to learn how to interact socially and emotionally as well. If those topics are not addressed early on in a child s life normal things can become difficult. Aras uses Lev Vygotsky and the Tools of the Mind program to explain how best to implement self regulation in students. This gives the impression that she believes all children should be in a Tools of the Mind program and that might be the author s preference she does give several ideas as to further children s self regulation skills. These ideas can be used in the average classroom, daycare or home, they are simple changes to ideas already in place that can help children to develop better social and emotional understanding. These ideas included focusing on the students rather than the lesson plan, having the students help make the classroom rules, putting students in situations that they have to understand what they have done. Implementing self regulation does not have to be difficult it can be little things that help students understand themselves and their classmates. Another concept Aras found important was the myths that surround self regulation and how they can adversely affect students and teachers. As a future teacher, it is vital for me to know and understand these myths. Many of the myths I never thoughtas harmful to learners, such as the ideathat we need to wait for children to grow into their maturity before they are taught more regulatory skills. Children can start developing the skills necessary to self regulate before they fully understand the need for it. Or that some people have the idea ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 54. The Family Tree Short Story The Family Tree Our story begins in Greece, many years ago. A baby was born in the city of Athens. Her name was Oakley. Oakley had brown, long hair with big hazel eyes. Her parents adored her. Eighteen years passed by and there was a big riot going on in Athens in protest of Zeus letting Hades capture Persephone. Zeus wanted to teach the citizens of Athens a lesson by sending them terrible storms. Innocent Oakley didn t know about the threats from Zeus, but her parents did. Her parents didn t want Oakley to fear of the storm coming their way, so they didn t tell her. Her parents also didn t want to leave Athens themselves, they knew they didn t have the energy to do so. In result, they had to try and get Oakley to move by herself, without letting her know of the great dangers ahead. Oakley was in her room, sewing a new blanket for her bed. Her mother called for her to come downstairs. So of course, she made her way downstairs and saw her parents sitting on the couch, with a depressed look on their face. What s wrong? said Oakley. Honey, we have some news for you. We are sending you off to Corfu. said her mother. Oakleys face turned red. She seemed like she had smoke coming out of her ears. Are you trying to get rid of me? said Oakley. What did I ever do to you? Nothing, nothing, said her father. This is for your own safety darling. What is going on? I m completely happy here in Athens! • 55. The Development of Antibiotic Resistance For many years people have wondered why the antibiotics that are used so commonly nowadays are not as effective as they once were. Just like organisms evolve throughout time, resistance to certain things can also evolve. This resistance however is not something that happens naturally but rather is a man made process which was caused via the misuse, overuse, and/or underuse of antibiotics (Davies 2010). The author Davies explains that there is no better example of the Darwinian notions of selection and survival than the spread of antibiotic resistanceand how the bacteria have evolved with traits that make them that way. The more people use antibiotics, especially when not necessary, the higher the chance of bacteria in the body growing resistant to those antibiotics. Major problems have arisen such as cells becoming resistant to antibiotics because its selection pressure is reduced or eliminated. This means that one must counteract this by continually increasing the antibiotic concentration in proportion to the increased resistance (Rosenthal and Elowitz 2012). To understand how bacteria became resistant to antibiotics, one must first understand the origin of antibiotics and its introduction into the body. Once these antibiotics were discovered and first started being used, it was not long after that that they regrettably were accompanied by the appearance of some resistant strains as well. The development of antibiotic resistance is persistent especially because ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 56. Free Trade Is The Policy Of Unrestricted Purchasing And... Free trade is the policy of unrestricted purchasing and selling of goods between nations without the imposition of barriers, such as tariffs and quotas. For example, if an American company wanted to import a good to Canada, they would be able to do so free of import taxes. This is as a result of NAFTA, the North American Free Trade Agreement , which allows free trade between Canada, the United States, and Mexico. This is done in order to promote international trade between the different zones. The theory of free trade is that, without the increase in transport cost that comes from tariffs, imported goods are less expensive. This means, for a country such as the United States of America, that consumer prices should drop while exports should increase, since the price to export has lessened considerably. The most common counter to this idea, however, is the fact that there are some nations, such as China, that lack the worker protections that are in place in the United States. This means that manufacturing costs are far cheaper in some foreign nations. As a result, American workers, being unable to compete with the low wages being paid to workers in other countries, are forced into unemployment by outsourcing. This, in theory, leads to a weakened middle class whose purchasing power is severely diminished. This has come to the forefront of recent politics, given the positions of various presidential candidates on this important issue. Some, such as Bernie Sanders and Donald ...
