Cyber Bullying Research Paper Outline
What is your stance on cyber bullying. Lots of people believe cyber bullying should be illegal.
Cyber bullying should not be a federal offense. The first reason is because if i called you a name
in real life and called you the same name online why is it only illegal online. Some people might
argue that online more people see it and I agree but if you take it to court the number of people
that have seen it will double, and if the news catchers the story an enter country might see you
think all of you friends is a lot of people try The U.S.A. population. So by what some people might
think is helping is actually spreading it beyond control.
In the next few years we will have found a way to prevent or brush off cyber bullying. Most people

Analysis Of The New York Times By David Brooks Essay
Argumentative Essay on Supporting Our Students
In an article by The New York Times, by David Brooks, called, Support Our students. Brooks
explains that instead of free college, maybe they should help college students with everyday needs.
He said that college is already free for the working class and underpaid. (Brooks) He doesn t
believe that making community college free will help anymore with the debt, then it did before. In
sum, I will discuss the argument that David Brooks portrays and explain why I agree with it. I
will talk about three main points from Brooks article and discuss what it s like in other countries
that do have free college.
In David Brooks article, he mentions that students actually have free college at their disposal. By
using pell grants and scholarships, he believes that we re set. I don t disagree. In my experience,
my scholarship and my pell grant both pay for my school. However, I must have one scholarship
to receive the other and as a student that comes from a poor household, my pell grant covers all
of my college expenses aside from my books. He said it s more beneficial if instead of making
college free, that they should help the students. (Brooks) Such as living expenses, book fees, and
transportation.(Brooks) He mentions how most students have jobs, full or part time. (Brooks) I
am lucky enough to have a free living space on food, but I have a part time job and most of my
money goes towards saving up for my next semester s textbooks

The First Form Of Writing
All these years we have given credit to Europeans for contributions to the world but in reality the
ones who contributed to world developments were the Africans. we did not give them credit
because we saw them as a undeveloped continent that couldn t have contributed to the world.
Africans contributed lasting contributions to the world through their innovations with tools. Many
of these tool are academics, architecture ,astronomy, medicine, and agriculture. African contribution
to the world of academics was writing. One of the types of writing was hieroglyphics.
Hieroglyphics was the first form of writing in Africa. Many of the African works were done by oral
storytelling traditions. The form of writing of hieroglyphics has become modern with time. The
Britannica encyclopedia states that the oral and written story telling have been developing parallel
and have influenced each other. this is saying that the the oral stories and the written have been
developing with time and has been changing. Another African contribution to the world is math. I
learned that the modern high school level concepts in math were first developed in Africa. In Arica
the first counting method was done. The Article Great Achievements in Science and Technology in
Ancient Africa states that 35,000 years ago Egyptians scripted textbook in math containing division
and multiplication of fractions, geometric formulas of shapes to calculate area and volume, distance
and angles, algebraic equations,

The Film Rain M Charlie And Raymond Babbitt
The film Rain Man (1988) depicts the relatively one sided relationship between two brothers,
Charlie and Raymond Babbitt. Charlie is portrayed by Tom Cruise and is immediately shown to be
a self absorbed businessman and Raymond, portrayed by Dustin Hoffman, is later introduced as
Charlie s older brother who lives and is cared for at a mental facility. The story follows the two on a
cross country journey that ultimately leads them, primarily Charlie, to better understanding
themselves and each other.
The film begins by introducing Charlie who is shown to be a young and struggling salesman of
expensive cars. One day he receives news that his estranged father had passed away back in
Cincinnati, Ohio. Charlie and his girlfriend, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

is sent back to Ohio with his doctor with the promise from Charlie that he will visit him soon.
The Barlow (2018) text states that the diagnostic criteria for autism spectrum disorder is:
Persistent deficits in social communication and social interaction across multiple contexts
Restricted, repetitive patterns of behavior, interests, or activities
Symptoms must be present in the early developmental period
Symptoms cause clinically significant impairment in social, occupational, or other important areas
of functioning
The disturbances are not better explained by intellectual disability (intellectual developmental
disorder) or global developmental delay.
Based on these criteria listed Raymond would be diagnosed as autistic. In the film he is shown to
have a lack of social or emotional reciprocity in multiple instances. When he was told of his father s
death he had no response, another instance was how he

Rough Draft Of The Odyssey By Homer s The Odyssey
The Odyssey Rough Draft In The Odyssey by Homer, Odysseus is on a journey home to Ithaca
after helping the Greeks win the Trojan War. The Hero s Journey by Joseph Campbell represents
the difficult journey a hero must go on to defeat the final battle, meaning that he must overcome a
really difficult challenge to complete his journey and restore the world. In The Odysseyby Homer,
Odysseusexperiences significant events on his journey home to Ithaca which includes Entering the
Unknown; he receives Supernatural Aid; and he experiences the Supreme Ordeal related to
Campbell s Hero s Journey. After winning the Trojan War
, Odysseus starts his journey by entering

Some of the time the gift is simply wisdom (Campbell). The quote from The Odyssey is supported
by the quote from the Hero s Journey because Athena, a goddess, is a supernatural element, and
helps Odysseus by providing him information about the situation at his palace. Athena helps
Odysseus with the means to complete his adventure by preparing him for his supreme ordeal.
Odysseus must overcome his ultimate challenge, the supreme ordeal, in order to finish his
journey. Odysseus has to kill the suitors that are trying to steal his wife and his kingdom. With
Athena s help, Odysseus disguises himself as a beggar to sneak into the castle. He then plans out
an attack on the suitors by trapping them in a room where he will kill them all off. After
Odysseus successfully completes the challenge to shoot an arrow through several axe handles,
he reveals himself and takes action on the suitors; he screams out You yellow dogs, you thought
I d never make it home from the land of Troy. You took my house to plunder (Homer, 610) Part 2.
The Hero s Journey identifies this is as the supreme ordeal as once the obstacle is overcome, the
tension will be relieved... the worst is passed, and the quest while not officially over, has
succeeded (Campbell). The Hero s Journey supports the quote mentioned from The Odyssey
because after Odysseus kills all of the

New Hampshire Principal Competencies
The job of a school leader is not easy as many may think. School leaders are responsible for
everything dealing with a school from the teaching staff to managing the school budget. I believe
all the New Hampshire principal competencies are important and meaningful to every school leader.
The New Hampshire competencies are important and meaningful to every schoolleader because
they are designed to help guide principals in the right direction, and they should all be reviewed
and followed. I believe effective school leaders should know the following; stage one: educational
leadership, stage two: school culture and instructional programs, stage four: school and community,
and stage five: integrity and ethics.
I feel stage one sets the stage

The solids of revolution for this cone will look like the following images.
Thus, we return to the solid of revolutions formula
Volume = ∫_a^bв
–’гЂ–ПЂ (radius)^2 dx гЂ— a will equal 0 and b will equal 2.9.
The radius will be the aforementioned equation of the line. This again perfectly matches the
predicted volume that was calculated for the conical section of the External Tank.
Thus, the total volume of the solids of revolution will match as well.

Since it matches, this further proves that the math is correct and effective.
Solids of Revolution for Orbiter
Sadly, similar to the others, I could not find sufficient data to create a detailed model of the
Orbiter, so all I can attempt is model another cylinder that has equal dimensions.
So, using the formula again:
Volume = ∫_a^bв
–’гЂ–ПЂ (radius)^2 dx гЂ— a will equal 0 and b will equal 32.85, since that
is the length of the space shuttle.
The radius will be 3.455 since the diameter is 6.91.
This forms the function y=3.455. The solids of revolutions would look like the following images.
This final value matches the predicted volume for the

The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation
Patrick Raymond F. Atilano tiz000028c THE PINK CARAVAN 2015
The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation marks its 20th anniversary with its retro styled Pink
Caravan this year. The Pink Caravan has been part of the breast cancer awareness campaign that
has been launched by the NZBCF since the start of its various programmes for women s health
promotion in New Zealand. The Pink Caravan will be visiting 32 towns of New Zealand as part of
its itinerary with a mission to provide breast health information to the men and women who need
access to free medical breast check up, breast cancer monitoring, inquiries, and to be able to sign a
petition for an extended government support for free mammogram screening to older patients.
This paper aims to evaluate the Pink Caravan breast cancer awareness campaign programme of
NZBCF for 2015. The Pink Caravan is an on the road campaign programme to provinces, with no
easy access to breast health services in New Zealand, to be able to invite women and even men
to get into the Pink Caravan and avail of its free medical consultation and inquiries information
without the need for an appointment. The 32 targeted towns included the areas along the Far
North to Southland of New Zealand. The caravan travels from town to town to provide access to
the women, as well as the men, who need health care particularly on breast cancer awareness and
medication. Breast cancer awareness has been part of the NZBCF programme for the last 20 years

the math, so that they can take the knowledge with them and be able to do things on their own.

Technology Is Eroding All Of Humanity
Over Use of Technology? How technology is eroding all of humanity.
Many people believe technology to be advancing humanity s capabilities, in reality, although there
are some advantages, it has many negative effects on society, and therefore the amount of
technology used should be reduced to ensure the continuing existence of mankind. People of all
ages from young children to adults use technology on a daily basis to learn and do things which
were once done manually. People are slowly losing the ability to do simple actions such as
writing a letter or spelling simple words. There is also an increasing number of health issues
found to be the result of excessive technology usage. To decrease the amount of social and medical
conditions in today s society the technology usage should be decreased and used more safely.
Although the amount of technology used should be reduced it is still a very useful utility and
should not be completely stopped. The development of new technologies, such as mobile
phones, Facebook, email, Skype and FaceTime, have made it easier for people to communicate
with other people at any time anywhere in the world. By developing new technology, society is
able to quickly send/receive messages. For example if you want to give a message to a friend or
relative you can just ring, text or email them, whereas before you would have to hand write a
message which would then be hand delivered.
Technology can also be useful when wanting to find out

Examples Of Escape In Shawshank Redemption
Shawshank Redemption is a film that was directed by Frank Darabont. Shawshank Redemption
is a film about Andy Dufresne who goes to prison for a double murder that he did not commit
and serves two life sentences, Andy makes long lasting friendships at Shawshank Prison and has
many hobbies that he does. In Shawshank Redemption a major theme in this film is escape as it
is displayed through the film numerous times and in different formats such as film techniques
and characterization. Shawshank Redemption is a box office classic and it has been referred to
as the best film ever made. A scene where escape was featured heavily is when Andy and his

Andy escapes by making a hole through the wall over a twenty year period and then during a
stormy night Andy breaks the sewage pipe by using a rock of concrete while it is masked by the
sound of thunder. Escape is displayed very comprehensively through film techniques and
characterization. When Andy escaped through the sewers and ended in the river it felt like as if he
was baptised because he escaped from the claustrophobic confines of Shawshank and he also
escaped the corruption and money laundering as the warden had forced him to book his laundering
schemes otherwise he would make it hell for him. The major film technique that was involved in
this scene was when Andy was breaking the pipe, the camera was facing up towards him and then
switch to the lightning strike through the window, then quickly switch to Andy crashing the rock
against the pipe. This film technique gave the effect of intensity and made the audience be on the
edge of their seats. This scene if very important to the story because this when Andy literally escapes
from Shawshank and the themes displayed in the scene is very important to his characterization. In
conclusion, Shawshank Redemption used characterization and film techniques to display Escape
through Andy and the people around successfully. Personally I really enjoyed watching Shawshank
Redemption because the film used a lot of thought provoking themes and shows how being a

The Conflict Of The West Bank And Gaza Strip
One State, Two States Few, if any, modern conflicts are as complex as the Arab Israeli conflict.
Specifically, the political situation in the West Bank and Gaza Strip has led to bloodshed, political
high wire acts, and cycles of hope and disappointment for decades. Consensus has generally leaned
towards advocated a two state solution for the conflict, in which the Israelremains a Jewish state,
and the Palestinian Arabs establish their own country carved from currently Israeli occupied
territories. This solution has become more infeasible, not more attainable, efforts to find a lasting
peace have occurred. The main alternative, a one state solution, in which one nation takes full
control of the Israel, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While UN Security Council Resolution 242 called for Israel to remove itself from these areas and
return to its pre 1967 War borders (Farsakh 2005), Israel continued its presence in the region. In
the years that have followed, numerous solutions have been proposed to solve the crisis and to
bring a lasting peace and sense of stability to the area. The solution most supported up to now has
been the two state solution. In this solution, parts of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip (likely the
full area in the latter) would become part of an independent, self governing Palestinian state, while
the rest of the area would become Israeli territory. With this, Palestinians would have a nation state
and could chart their own political and cultural course. Most nations and international organizations
have lent their support to this idea, including the US, the UN, and Israel and Palestinian Authority
(Sanger 2016), forming the basis for most peace talks aiming to resolve the conflict. The question
that now remains is why has this solution not yet been achieved? The disagreement on the borders
of each state remains one of the primary roadblocks to achieving the two state solution. There exists
no consensus on which land would belong to Israel and which to an independent Palestinian state.
One complicating issue in

The Balkan Of World History
If one was to ask the experienced historian Andrew Watchtel, author of the book The Balkan in
World History , about the most peculiar aspect of East Central Europe, odds are, he would refer to
its cultural layering. Watchtel use the term cultural layering to define the collage of cultures that
have fused over time in this region. This cultural layering found in East Central Europe is reflected
more evidently with the infrastructure, language roots, and religion of the Balkan area. The
Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman empires were the ones that for diverse reasons left a more lasting
impression in this area. To be more specific, by means of architecture, the province of Plovdiv,
Bulgariais the perfect example on how these three empires left... Show more content on

At last, the Roman set the Danube River as the empire s limit or natural divisor from the northern
European unconquered territories by building limes or fortified borders.
As Rome added new provinces to the empire set Greek as the official language of the Eastern
part and built infrastructure throughout the region. Before incorporating the Balkan Region
into the empire, Latin was the only official language in the empire. However, the language used
in the Balkans area was mostly Greek, so Romans decided set Greekas the the official language
of the Eastern part of the empire. Jean Sedlar, author of the book, East Central European in
Middle Ages, estimated that one reason of doing so may be because the Romans admired for the
Greek civilization (Bideleux and Jeffries 1998, 42). Moreover, his conjecture may be correct, due
to the fact that the Roman culture was based on Greek background. Therefore, most of the Eastern
part of the empire used Greek as the official language, but the Dacia province was the exception
where the Romanian developed, a romance or Latin derived language. One of the myriads of
examples of Roman architecture can be reflected with the Plovdiv Aqueduct located in present day
Plovdiv, Bulgaria or the Ancient Roman province of Thracia.
Secondly, the Byzantine Empire, also referred as the Eastern Roman Empire expanded to parts of
Eastern Central Europe as a measure of gaining control over the Holy Roman Empire. Byzantium

Oxygen Consumption Lab Report
Conclusion Evaluation:
Conclusion:
As depicted in my Hypothesis, Oxygen consumption rises, such as the heart rate when the body
starts exercising. Through the 1.5 mile run I could prove that Oxygen consumption and Heart Rate
depend on each other. The cardiovascular and respiratory system cannot function without the other.
The heart working together allows metabolism to occur in all parts and systems throughout the
body. This is done as the lungs deliver oxygen and also removes wastes. Oxygen delivery can be
used as a measure of cardiac function and cardiac output. Oxygen consumption is limited to a
greater extent by oxygen delivery and not by oxygen extraction. This also shows the importance of
interaction between the cardiovascular and respiratory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The increased heart rate allows for a faster oxygen delivery to the muscle tissues used when
jogging / running which eventually allows for an increase in oxygen consumption. Another point
proving my hypothesis is that if a person is suffering from a heart failure, they have problems
increasing their heart rate. Without the increase in heart rate, oxygen delivery and therefore oxygen
consumption is limited. An example that is relevant would be the Weber Classification System
which was used to monitor improvement in functional capacity from the beginning to the end of
cardiac rehabilitation. Weber showed that oxygen extraction increases to make up for the decrease
in oxygen delivery. By this research, Weber proved that the relationship between oxygen
consumption, oxygen delivery and therefore also the heart rate prove to be of great importance. In
the condition hypoxemia, the individual risks fainting due to a lack of oxygen transported to the
brain and all other organs. This usually happens when blood passes through the lungs to quick and
there is therefore only a little time for oxygen to leave the lungs and enter the blood stream. This is
another prove to my hypothesis that there must be a balance between cardiovascular and
respiratory systems to be able for

Comparing Dynastic China And Ancient Egypt
Introduction:
Looking over the shoulder of history, Dynastic China and Egypt were perhaps two of the most
substantial, long lasting, and abiding civilizations. A dynasty is simply defined as a succession of
rulers from the same family. The ancient Egyptian dynasty was present from about 3100 to 332
BC. It was ruled in the Arab Republic of Egypt. Ancient dynastic China, which lasted from about
1000 BC to 500 AD, lay in the Yellow River Valley. It can be seen that both of these societies
shared quite a few cultural similarities. For example, in Egypt, as well as China, polytheism was a
dominant religious belief. Also, they were both primarily well developed in technology and tools.

But, they definitely were not limited to simply working the home. There were many professions
and jobs offered to women at the time. It also should be noted that the range of jobs that were
available for them were based on social class rather than gender. On top of working within the
home, attending to household chores and caring for their children, the lower class women of
the ancient Egyptian society also had the duty of working outside tending livestock and in the
fields, especially during harvest. Occupations such as skilled weavers, mourners, musicians,
stewards, composers, singers, dancers, beer brewers, and bakers were also accessible to women
of any social class. Educated or wealthy women were offered professional positions such as
administrators, priestesses, or supervisors. In some instances, they became judges, overseers,
governors, doctors, or even prime ministers because of their ability to read and write. If a
woman held the same job as a man, she received the same income and rations as a man received
for the work, and so her wages made an important contribution to the family s wealth. Unlike the
Egyptian women s broad range of career options, the average Chinese women s work centered
primarily on the home. Tasks such as preparing food, cleaning and looking after children were the
norm for the majority of women in ancient China. They were expected to have many children and
most women felt the pressure to bear a son. It was common for women to take up manual labour in
the home. Spinning, weaving and sewing were common occupations. Some peasant women worked
in the fields with their husbands. As per the dominant religion of the time, Confucian, women were
inferior to men. Men and women were not equal in Confucius s eyes. The only real job in which
the ancient Chinese women had was to bear

Muslims In The Military Essay
After reading the many articles provided on Muslims serving in the military it is disheartening to
know how this population has been treated for serving for our country. Like many other
individuals Muslims are drawn to the military for the same reasons as other recruits, such as a
strong sense of patriotism, a search for discipline and dreams of attending college (Preston, 2014).
According to the U.S Department of Defense more than 3,500 Muslims fought in Afghanistan and

Due to the 911 Terrorist attacks the Islamic faith has been under tremendous scrutiny and has
created a negative connotation with terrorism against the U.S. Another challenge many Muslim
soldiers face stems from the challenges of dual identities as believers of the Islamic faith and as
members of the U.S. military. Some soldiers use fake last names to avoid being singled out by
insurgents as traitors and to prevent retaliations against their families (Dreazen, 2009). Some
other challenges Muslims serving in the military face are discrimination among their peers.
Multiple of the articles discussed how many soldiers are subjects of taunts, making them feel
singled out by fellow soldiers. After reviewing the article and reading I feel like there needs to
be a delicate balance of making Muslim military members feel less marginalized without their
being a risk for radicalization. I think currently the military is doing a great job balancing this by
allowing religious minority service members to display their beliefs outwardly such as wearing a
turban, scarf or beard as long as the practices do not interfere with military discipline, order or

Operation Mincemeat Research Paper
Several years after World War Two, the British government publicly unveiled how they used a
corpse to fool the Germans into believing that the Allies would invade Greece, instead of Sicily.
Dubbed Operation Mincemeat , it became the most successful and influential espionage mission
in World War Two. The mission was critical for reinforcing Hitler s fear of an Allied attack on the
Mediterranean, granted the Allies an easy victory in the capture of Sicily, and ensured the
outcome of the entire war. To begin with, in 1943, Hitler feared an Allied attack on Greece and
Sardinia. So, when he received intel of a top secret Allied plan to invade those very countries, he
immediately transferred the majority of his forces from Sicily to Greece. This... Show more content

To begin with, when the British used Operation Mincemeat to capture Sicily, they also increased
their chances for a successful invasion of Italy. This is because Sicily is a small island, located
just at the bottom of Italy. The capture of Sicily will allow the Allies to march their troops
upward into the heart of Italy, and launch their ships across the Tyrrhenian Sea, near the coast of
Italy. The text states, The island at the toe of Italy s boot commanded the channel linking the
two sides of the Mediterranean, just eighty miles from the Tunisian coast. (Macintyre 85) Sicily
also granted the Allies a chance to invade France, distract German troops on the Eastern front,
force Italy out of the war, and finally break the Pact of Steel , which would greatly increase
Allied morale. The author says, An invasion of Sicily would open the door to Rome, draw
German troops from the eastern front to relieve the Red Army, allow for preparations to invade
France, and perhaps knock a tottering Italy out of the war. Breaking up the Pact of Steel forged in
1939 by Hitler and Mussolini would shatter German morale, Churchill predicted, and might be the
beginning of their doom. (Macintyre 85 86) Secondly, Operation Mincemeat was also a huge
success for the Allies,

Snap Traps
What are some ways to kill a wild animal in the yard? Realistically probably the only way it
would be considered humane to kill a wild animal that was in your yard would be to capture it
alive and euthanize it using the CO2 method. This method is pretty simple you get a bag large
enough to put cage in and seal up and the smaller container in which you put vinegar and baking
soda, when you mix these two they produce CO2, once the concentration of CO2 in the bag
reaches over 30% the animal will pass out and then soon afterwards it will die. Using that
method means of course that you first have to catch the animal alive and a lot of people really
have no skills in that area and when they usually try to catch an animal they fail. There are a
heap of other methods that people use to kill animals that are causing them problems, most of
these revolve around lethal traps, the main two types being snap traps which are the ones you
mainly use to kill rats, mice and squirrels, as you can see these are all small animals and that is
what the basic snap trap you buy from the hardware store is good for. The other main type of
lethal trap a squeeze trap, this trap looks very similar to a cage trap but instead of a gate closing
behind the animal and locking it in, in this trap two metal plates slam shut crushing the animal,

Looking For Alaska By John Green

Looking For Alaska by John Green
Looking For Alaska by John Green is a coming of age story focused on a shy and friendless
fifteen year old boy named Miles Halter. He leaves his home in Florida to attend Culver Creek
Preparatory School in Alabama, seeking his Great Perhaps (Green 5). It is important to note that
this novel is written in two parts, before and after. Before, Miles fits in perfect at Culver Creek
where he meets his first true friends, Chip The Colonel Martin and Alaska Young. His friends help
him adjust to life at the boarding school by teaching him to smoke cigarettes, drink alcohol, and
pull pranks with the best of them. Miles begins to fall helplessly ... Show more content on

In after, however, the World Religions class becomes a focal point for wrestling with the
suffering following Alaska s death (Dean 24). This quote, while talking about the religion class,
sums up the before and after structure perfectly. Before, Pudge s labyrinth was navigating
Alaska s changes in character and his almost imaginary image of her, however after her death, he
finds himself in a real life labyrinth of pain and despair, which he only escapes by forgiveness. I
found Miles to be extremely relatable. For the first part of the book, he is experiencing the same
things that I, and probably most other high school students, experienced. This makes it easy to
understand his thought process and reasoning. That being said, he is a complete pushover. I
would consider him to be the epitome of a follower. This turns out to be a major problem for him
when he refuses to stand up to Alaska driving under the influence of alcohol. Having had friends try
to drink and drive numerous times, I know that no one wants to be that guy, but his unwillingness to
put his foot down ended up costing him dearly. John Green addresses a very serious problem that
faces many people in today s society. Under no circumstances should one allow another person to
drink and drive, and I felt as though he taught this lesson in the best way possible. Readers see the
huge mistake that Miles and his friends made, and will hopefully use it as a reference when put in
a similar position,

The South Asian Collection Of The Asian Art Museum
The South Asian collection of The Asian Art Museum, in gallery four, houses The Hindu Deity
Brahmani [Figure 1], originally from Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu state and is dated approximately
875 950 AD. The artist is unknown. Her dimensions are 29 X 21 X 10 inches. In Hinduism,
Brahmani is the shakti of the god Brahma, the creator of the universe and senior member of the
Hindu Trinity, and is one of the seven mother goddesses that may have been located in the temple
of her origin ( The Hindu Deity Brahmani ). The sculpture was created during the Chola Dynasty,
also known as the Golden Age of Tamil Culture, and carved from either granite or hornfels granite.
The Dravidian style of art and architecture attained brilliance under the Cholas, and the dynasty s
triumphs are considered the greatest in South Asia containing some of the most beautiful
masterpieces ever produced in India(Dehejia, 1990). This sculpture is an excellent representation of
this goddess, confirming that the artistic vision of the Chola dynasty is paramount in Indian art.
Equally as stunning, ornate temples were built to house sacred symbols to help Hindu devotees

Lord Capulet Romeo And Juliet
In Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare presents many different aspects of Lord Capulet s personality
in a wide variety of ways. In Act 1 Scene 2, Shakespeare employs the metaphor let two more
summers wither in their pride / ere we may think her ripe to be a bride . In this metaphor,
Shakespeare describes Juliet as a fruit. This reference to the natural world presents Juliet as
beautiful while verb such as wither and ripe present Juliet as immature and naГЇve, not ready for
the serious event of marriage. Furthermore, like a fruit can easily be bruised, Shakespeare shows
how Juliet can easily be damaged and how Juliet is powerless in her choices and will be chosen
by a man, like how a man picks a fruit from a tree, mirrored in the Elizabethan Patriarchal society
when women were powerless and it was the men who possessed all the power. However, a
contemporary audience would react very different to this, possibly outraged due to Juliet s lack
of choice in her life. In addition, it is possible to say that Shakespeare choosing to rhyme bride
and pride reflects Lord Capulet s feelings towards Juliet marrying. However, later on in the
extract, Lord Capulet says how those who are too soon marred are those too early made . The
word marred has two meaning, married and ruined so in this line, Shakespeare shows how Lord
Capulet is fearful of Juliet s premature marriage as he doesn t want Juliet to become ruined,
alluding to his own unhappy marriage with Lady Capulet, and how Lord

Victorian Spiritualism Controversy
The Spiritualism was and still is a controversial topic the controversy comes in with what is what
people believe in. Spiritualism was based on the spirits that lived on after death but not everyone
believed or believes in the spirits still existing after death. Spiritualists were mostly women who
within them had many feminists beliefs in which they demonstrated that women should have the
same rights as men. Alex Owen in The Darkened Room: Women, Power, and Spiritualism in Late
Victorian England, introduces how women power became a problem in Victorian society... Despite

Society looked at Spiritualists as mentally ill and that created a problem between medical
practices and spiritualists. In Science and the SГ©ance: Transgressions of Gender and Genre in
Late Victorian London by Judith R. Walkowitz she describes, Spiritualists responded by
elaborating an iconography of male medical evil, portraying the doctor as a fraud and as a
sexuality dangerous man, a divided personality whose science made him cruel, blood thirsty, and
hyper masculine because it suppressed his feminine, spiritual part (Walkowitz 5). The images
that were put out by both sides created a real struggle with knowing what the truth. Did the
women have and illness or was it just the control that the doctors and science had on the society
at the time? Doctors had creditability because they worked of facts. But in this case they were
not working of full facts they were mostly working on diagnoses of how women acted and used
it as a way of justifying their view on spiritualism by using the medical field. The view that
psychiatrists at that time had on spiritualism was that is affected weak minded hysterical women
but in reality these women were very progressed for their time. Spiritualism was a way for
women mostly of middle class to find a sanctuary and create their own culture. The sГ©ance that
happened was a way to express their feelings in other ways. The spiritual part was a lot more

Vu 1 Joyce Vu Mr. Jacques ENG4U1 f January 12, 2014 Totalitarianism in 1984 and We: When
2+2 = X When the government s lies and propaganda are embedded in everyday life, how can
one find the strength to rebel? The theme of totalitarianism is prevalent in both George Orwell s
1984, and Zamyatin Yevgeny s We. The authority ruling over the inhabitants in We, require that
the entire city be made out of glass, that names be made out of a consonant or vowel and a set of
numbers. The inner party ruling over the inhabitants in 1984, require that people use Newspeak,
believe they are satisfied, and live with a telescreen that cannot be turned off. Physical control is
a large part contribution to the success of the totalitarian governments. They focus on taking
away the individuality of the person and replace it with undying love for big brother. However
all governments have a crack, a glitch that can prove to be an achilles heel. No matter how
seemingly perfect they currently are, if there is a crack, there is a way for rebellion to occur. Just
as important as it is to have physical control, it is also key to have jurisdiction over the human
mind. The people must wholeheartedly believe and love the government. Brainwashing will help
to avoid future uprisings or disputes against the state. In 1984, the citizens of Oceania worship Big
Brother where as in We, they worship The Benefactor. In both cases, these godlike figures prove to
play a crucial role in uniting the countries.

Rawls Difference Principle and its Compatibility with Democratic Equality
Introduction
With a limited availability of wealth and resources, all societies are posed with a common
dilemma: how ought these goods be distributed among members of the community in a way that is
just? In A Theory of Justice, John Rawls, an influential political philosopher of the 20th century,
attempts to provide a solution to this dilemma by presenting a hypothetical situation, known as the
Original Position, in which multiple parties determine the principles that will constitute the basic
structure of the society they will live in. In order to ensure that the party members make their
choices impartially ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The other component of Rawls justification of inequalities is the difference principle. It holds
that inequalities in wealth and social status are permitted just in case that they benefit the least
well off. Thus, Injustice [...] is simply inequalities that are not to the benefit of all (Rawls, 1971).
Rawls suggests that the least well off can be defined as those who occupy the class of unskilled
workers and hold the least amount of wealth in society. He also suggests that inequalities be
evaluated through an index of primary goods . Primary goods are those that are essential for one
to exercise his moral powers, such as rights and liberties, power and opportunity, and health and
intelligence (Quong, 2017). Thus, the index of primary goods is representative of one s
expectations of having the necessary primary goods in order to function as a citizen while
exercising his moral powers.
Examples of permissible inequalities as according to the difference principle lie in idea of
incentive. For instance, Rawls argues that inequalities in income are just, because they provide an
incentive to work and contribute to the overall well being of the society. Thus, the skilled or
talented workers of the society would require more income in order to stay productive. Without the
higher income as an incentive, the talented workers would not be as productive, which in turn
negatively impacts the least well off, as there

Violent Protest In Martin Luther King
Martin Luther King was a civil rights activist who believed in the liberty and justice for all.
During his life, Dr. King lead peaceful civil rights protest, preached the word of God, and was
imprisoned. Dr. King advocates for nonviolent responses to injustice and believes that protestors
must be willing to go to jail for what they believe in. In addition, Dr. King preaches that a violent
response to unjust treatment is wrong and one should not practice it, a preaching that ultimately led
to his death. Overall, Dr. King favored the use of nonviolent tactics over violent ones.
Mohandas K. Gandhi was an African philosopher who was also an attorney. During his time,
Gandhi challenged the apartheid system. The apartheid system basically was a form of
institutionalized racism that put the whites (the Dutch and the British) above the brown (Indian
workers) and the black (the descendants of the African natives). In addition, it made brown and
black people to be considered second class citizens , even though some of held prestigious jobs.
Gandhi was angered by the apartheid system that he constantly protested it. In fact, it is what lead
him to develop his non violent protest philosophy. This philosophy became known as satyagraha,
which translates to Love Force or Soul Force . Gandhi believed that satyagraha was the way to
oppose unfair treatment and that violent protest would just leave people wounded or even worse,
dead. The Satyagraha chapter in the book states While in

Changes to Knighthood throughout the Years
Throughout the years knighthood has changed depending on what the people need and expect
during that time period. They also vary on their manners, duties, ages, and skills. Kids start
training since the age of seven, especially if they want to be in the arms profession. Start out by
serving their fathers, around the age of 12, they then move onto serving the house receiving more
advanced instructions in military subjects and morals. The original medieval nights were originally

values were added to knighthood involving respect for the church, protection of the poor and the
weak, loyalty to one s feudal or military superiors, and preservation of personal honour (Knight3).
These became known as the knights orders they followed to achieve greatness.
The first recognized group of knights evolved during the Crusades. There was several different
groups of them including the Hospitallers of St John of Jerusalem, the Order of the Temple of
Solomon, and the Order of St. Lazarus. While they were all considered knights each group had a
different task and set of goals to accomplish. Not all of them fought in battles and saved

the leper hospitals. Knights served more like the police officers and army of today combined under

Antecedents Of Environmental Pollution
An environmental pollutant: Smog
Smog is fundamentally gotten from the converging of two words; smoke and haze. Smog is
likewise used to portray the sort of mist which has smoke or sediment in it. Smog is a yellowish or
blackish haze framed principally by a blend of poisons in the climate which comprises of fine
particles and ground level ozone. Smog which happens principally on account of air contamination,
can likewise be characterized as a blend of different gasses with tidy and water vapor. Smog
additionally alludes to foggy air that makes breathing troublesome.
The environmental contaminations or gasses that shape smog are discharged noticeable all
around when powers are copied. Whenever daylight and its warmth respond with these gasses and
fine particles in the environment, smog is framed. It is simply caused via air contamination.
Ground level ozone and fine particles are discharged noticeable all around because of complex
photochemical responses between unpredictable natural mixes (VOC), sulfur dioxide (SO2) and
nitrogen oxides (NOx). These VOC, SO2 and NOx are called antecedents. The fundamental
wellsprings of these antecedents are toxins discharged straightforwardly into the air by gas and
diesel run vehicles, modern plants and exercises, and warming because of human exercises.
Smog is regularly caused by overwhelming movement, high temperatures, daylight and quiet winds.
These are few of the variables behind expanding level of air contamination in climate. Amid

and influence. E commerce is relative to my area of study because the goal for my future
company will deal with providing services and content to customers via the internet. So what
exactly does e commerce mean? Let s see how Merriam Webster s online dictionary defines the
word: e commerce noun e comВ·merce Л€Д“ Л

That is why a name like Amazon.com pops up in most discussions about ecommerce. (p.1) I
would say Ebay, one of the largest e commerce sites after Amazon, possibly falls into all the
categories of e commerce. While it it apparent that Ebay fits comfortably into the B2C and C2C
e commerce types, it could also be a B2B type too, as I have seen other independant online
companies (some I have dealt business with have been RunCam, HobbyKing and Atomic RC)
who also register as sellers on Ebay. Thus businesses could possibly buy/sell from each other via
Ebay. Since Ebay is a platform where almost anything can be listed, it could also suit the C2B
category as well, for example, if an individual sells their services to a company via Ebay. Now
how much exactly, does e commerce influence the retail market today? The article Retail Sales
Worldwide (2014) forecasts When it comes to retail products and services purchased on the
internet, ecommerce will account for 5.9% of the total retail market worldwide in 2014, or
$1.316 trillion. By 2018, that share will increase significantly to 8.8%, yet retail ecommerce will
still account for just a fraction of in store purchases even as it nears $2.5 trillion by the end of our
forecast. (p.1) Despite the apparently small percentage that e commerce shares of the retail market.

Mud River Stone Analysis
There have been many plays I ve had the pleasure of being a part of, but I can honestly say Mud,
River, Stone by Lynn Nottage has had the greatest impact on my life, this play allowed me to
delve not lonely deeper into the understanding of my self, but even being able to relate it to the
insurmountable social injustice we see that is taking place in today s society; you know it s said
theater has a way of relating to history and even current events this playshowed me just how true
that statement is. Well, actually let s go back a bit and really break this down for a second.
When Stephen Davis told me that this particular play was going to be my thesis and that David
Bradley was the role I was going to play I truly didn t know how to feel, okay that s a lie I was
happy, excited and then nervous as I thought about all that would encompass; the process of
putting on a full show as a thesis; now I ve watched and saw many friends over the years produce

Well, not so much a time crunch but time definitely wasn t on our side, with the need to be off

my script and a ticking clock. Every day I found myself immersed in the script working to get off
book as quickly as I could, but I also found myself at a major standstill, normally in regards to
memorizing a script I found that I try to memorize the smaller chucks first then memorize the
longer sections, I thought this tactic would work best for this script; I quickly discovered that for
myself that the opposite would be the crowning victor in this battle. It was easier for me to
memorize the beginning moment of text upon text between Sarah and David. My struggle truly
came with trying to keep up with the text not only between Sarah and David, but also between

He knew he had to leave, to run, if he wanted to stay being himself. He wondered what his next
move would be. In his dull gray nightwear, that matched the entire layout of the neat dorm room.
He pondered at his next move. When fully focused it seemed as if time had stepped aside and
left him to his own doings, in his own world. In the deep, black canvas of his mind, colored dots
shoot across each other like the protons and electrons of atoms. The dots play around until they

Understanding The Origins Of Black Resistance
Cobb illustrates that armed self defense as a form of black resistance dates back to the colonial
era. Whereas historian Jacquelyn Dowd Hall has urged historians to look to Reconstruction to
understand the origins of black resistance, Cobb begins even earlier with the emergence of
American slavery.
As a former member of SNCC (Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee), Cobb uses both his
own experiences to highlight the complex relationship between nonviolent activism and armed self
defense at the grassroots. Although Cobb does not consider his book a memoir, the inclusion of his
personal memories brings to light young activists who engaged in a nonviolent movement without
having serious devotions to nonviolence as a principle. In his ... Show more content on

This background led to black veterans putting pressure on the federal government and southern
officials, calling them on to end racial oppression and recognize the African Americans
constitutional personhood (65). The younger generation of African American men and women
separated themselves from their parent s beliefs and practices by using the arts to shed some light
on racial inequalities within the United States and even throughout the entire world. Many of this
generation s black leaders, including the people listed at the end of page 231 and the influential W.
E. B. Dubois, believed in resisting white supremacy and especially white terror with any necessary
means, including armed self defense (231).
Also in the second chapter, Cobb writes on Dubois with a double barreled shotgun. W. E. B.
Dubois sat on his front porch with a double barreled shotgun, determined to protect his wife and
daughter during the Atlanta Riots. If a white mob stepped onto the campus where I lived, Dubois
wrote later, I would not have hesitated to spread their guts on the grass. (70)
The third chapter of Cobb s book, Fighting for What We Didn t Have , is a chapter that relies on
the story of Charles and Medgar Evers. Cobb uses this example to show what black veterans faced
when getting discharged from the U.S. Army after the end of World War II. Their sense of
dissatisfaction with the treatment of blacks in the South led to major acts of resistance, such as

Jackie Robinson And The Baseball
Jackie Robinson did not only help initiate the integration of the game of baseball, but he also
helped initiate integration throughout America. The film Soul of the Game does not go into all of
the details regarding his career on the Brooklyn Dodgers, but rather it depicts his life and choices
leading up to his career in the Major Leagues. This film portrays important themes such as
segregation, perseverance, and doubt, and it applies to history in the beginning of the story of
Jackie Robinsonand how America has gotten to where it is now. Although the court case of
Plessy v. Ferguson declared segregation to be legal as long as things were equal in 1896,
baseball had already done this about ten years prior. There was a creation of the Negro League in
the 1920s through the 1940s so that African Americans could have the same opportunities and
white players even though they were not allowed on any of the major league teams. Jackie
Robinson was a rookie player on the Kansas City Monarchs, a Negro League team, and being along
side Satchel Paige, no one even noticed who he was. According to the reading in Jackie Robinson
and Race in America by Thomas Zeiler, Satchel Paige was the first negro player to be inducted
into the Hall of Fame and he possibly believed to be one of the best pitchers of all time. Another
comrade of Robinson s during his time in the Negro League would be Josh Gibson, one of the
greatest catchers and hitters of all time. The owner of the Brooklyn Dodgers,

Fiscal Policy ( Private And Public )
For any economy, fiscal policy has two primary goals, an economic goal and a social goal.
Regarding the economic goal, fiscal policy has to ensure suitable and sustainable economic growth
rates that maintain unemployment rate at its natural level and at the same time do not generate
inflationary pressures. At social level, on the other hand, fiscal policy has to ensure a degree of
equity regarding the distribution of incomes in the economy, and to direct considerable part of
available resources toward essential investments that provide necessary goods and services
consumed mainly by the vast majority of population.
3.1 Evaluating the Economic Role of Fiscal Policy
Investment spending (private and public) is the main engine to stimulate economic growth.
Securing adequate savings is a prerequisite for any investment spending; however, investment
projects need not just to secure adequate funding to cover their investment costs during construction
periods, as they also need to secure adequate demand for their production to cover operational costs
and to obtain appropriate return on investment during operational periods. While fiscal policy is
playing a significant role in securing requirements of investment, domestic savings and aggregate
demand for domestic production; then it is considered a governor element in determining the extent
of investment prosperity and indispensible tool in correcting the imbalance between domestic
investment, consumption and savings.

to south areas located between The Gateway Park and 16th street, and west to east areas between
4th avenue and Arizona. This location is often referred to as Historic Yuma or Old Yuma and
contains many historical buildings. Housing and Zoning The buildings found in this area range
from historical buildings built in the 1900 s to newer homes and commercial buildings. Houses
are generally older with some newer homes scattered throughout the area. The quality of the
homes range from dilapidated to immaculate. Many of the older homes in Old Yuma did not
appear to have air conditioning as doors and windows were left open to circulate air, versus the
new homes, which contained AC units either on top of the roof or on the ground. All homes
appeared to have plumbing and electricity. Homes were generally in close proximity to one
another and appeared to have seemingly small lots. There were several abandoned or boarded up
homes in the area. Older motels and single story apartments were visualized in the area. Closed
down and boarded up motels, hotels, and homes were scattered throughout the area. A homeless
shelter was located in a isolated area next to the railroads and county line. Open spaces There were
open lots near the shelter, Gateway Park, and between residential homes. Many of the lots

William Shakespeare s The Prince And Julius Caesar
Texts are a reflection of its contextual values; it is evident that aspects of human nature remain
constant irrespective of context. Texts ruminative of this include Tim Parks translation of Niccolo
Machiavelli s The Prince (1532) and William Shakespeare s historical tragedy Julius Caesar (1599).
The values and attitudes of these two texts anticipated responders and influenced purpose, form and
content such as the darker aspects of humanism, the changeless nature of man, and the fickle nature
of people.

Machiavelli suggests that the most supreme approach to change the degenerate individual into a
decent individual is through the good law, although even the best law is pointless. Machiavelli
characterizes man as being self serving and not willing to act in the best interest of the state, and
when the prince is in danger they turn against him . Machiavelli strengthens the prince s need to be
feared by stating, Men worry less about doing an injury to one who makes himself loved than to
one who makes himself feared . To acquire honour, Machiavelli suggests that a prince must be
readily willing to deceive the citizens. These treacherous measures would bring the prince honour
and trust among the citizen, suggesting that man s nature is changeless, which is exemplified in
Shakespeare s Julius Caesar through the character of Mark Antony.
Mark Antony in Julius Caesar abandoned Caesar as soon as he is killed and to seek his own glory.
Being a true friend of Caesar, Mark Antony promises Caesar s soul that he would seek revenge
against the conspirators for his brutal murder, And Caesar s spirit, ranging for revenge, with Ate by

he carried the one over because it was making a new ten and then counted twenty plus thirty plus

Genetic Engineering Negative Essay
After genes were discovered, scientists have been trying to disclose the mysteries of them. Since
genes are the basic building blocks of organism, they are extremely crucial to the development of
biological science. Genetic engineering seems to help the scientists explore the genomes. Genetic
engineering is a relatively new technology that is used to manipulate the genome of an organism.
It can be utilized to raise plants, cure diseases, create genetically modified babies, and clone living
organisms. In other words, scientists can use genomes as Lego blocks to build or change an
organism. When an innovative idea is introduced to people, two groups manifest: one that supports
the idea and one that opposes it. Recently, as the products of the technology, such as GMO food,
get increasingly more involved in human lives, people start to debate whether genetically
engineering is more beneficial or harmful. On the surface of the issue, genetic engineeringseems to
only serve benefits. However, while the development of genetic engineering can change our world
for the better, it has various negative influences on the human race in many aspects: it is harmful
toward the agricultural environment; it acts against nature; and it creates ethical problems.
Scientists must consider the disadvantages of the technology carefully, before they over develop it
to an extent that it creates irreversible harms which can impair the entire human race.

  • 3. Analysis Of The New York Times By David Brooks Essay Argumentative Essay on Supporting Our Students In an article by The New York Times, by David Brooks, called, Support Our students. Brooks explains that instead of free college, maybe they should help college students with everyday needs. He said that college is already free for the working class and underpaid. (Brooks) He doesn t believe that making community college free will help anymore with the debt, then it did before. In sum, I will discuss the argument that David Brooks portrays and explain why I agree with it. I will talk about three main points from Brooks article and discuss what it s like in other countries that do have free college. In David Brooks article, he mentions that students actually have free college at their disposal. By using pell grants and scholarships, he believes that we re set. I don t disagree. In my experience, my scholarship and my pell grant both pay for my school. However, I must have one scholarship to receive the other and as a student that comes from a poor household, my pell grant covers all of my college expenses aside from my books. He said it s more beneficial if instead of making college free, that they should help the students. (Brooks) Such as living expenses, book fees, and transportation.(Brooks) He mentions how most students have jobs, full or part time. (Brooks) I am lucky enough to have a free living space on food, but I have a part time job and most of my money goes towards saving up for my next semester s textbooks ... • 4. The First Form Of Writing All these years we have given credit to Europeans for contributions to the world but in reality the ones who contributed to world developments were the Africans. we did not give them credit because we saw them as a undeveloped continent that couldn t have contributed to the world. Africans contributed lasting contributions to the world through their innovations with tools. Many of these tool are academics, architecture ,astronomy, medicine, and agriculture. African contribution to the world of academics was writing. One of the types of writing was hieroglyphics. Hieroglyphics was the first form of writing in Africa. Many of the African works were done by oral storytelling traditions. The form of writing of hieroglyphics has become modern with time. The Britannica encyclopedia states that the oral and written story telling have been developing parallel and have influenced each other. this is saying that the the oral stories and the written have been developing with time and has been changing. Another African contribution to the world is math. I learned that the modern high school level concepts in math were first developed in Africa. In Arica the first counting method was done. The Article Great Achievements in Science and Technology in Ancient Africa states that 35,000 years ago Egyptians scripted textbook in math containing division and multiplication of fractions, geometric formulas of shapes to calculate area and volume, distance and angles, algebraic equations, ... The Barlow (2018) text states that the diagnostic criteria for autism spectrum disorder is: Persistent deficits in social communication and social interaction across multiple contexts Restricted, repetitive patterns of behavior, interests, or activities Symptoms must be present in the early developmental period Symptoms cause clinically significant impairment in social, occupational, or other important areas of functioning The disturbances are not better explained by intellectual disability (intellectual developmental disorder) or global developmental delay. The Hero s Journey by Joseph Campbell represents the difficult journey a hero must go on to defeat the final battle, meaning that he must overcome a really difficult challenge to complete his journey and restore the world. In The Odysseyby Homer, Odysseusexperiences significant events on his journey home to Ithaca which includes Entering the Unknown; he receives Supernatural Aid; and he experiences the Supreme Ordeal related to Campbell s Hero s Journey. Some of the time the gift is simply wisdom (Campbell). The quote from The Odyssey is supported by the quote from the Hero s Journey because Athena, a goddess, is a supernatural element, and helps Odysseus by providing him information about the situation at his palace. Athena helps Odysseus with the means to complete his adventure by preparing him for his supreme ordeal. Odysseus must overcome his ultimate challenge, the supreme ordeal, in order to finish his journey. Odysseus has to kill the suitors that are trying to steal his wife and his kingdom. With Athena s help, Odysseus disguises himself as a beggar to sneak into the castle. He then plans out an attack on the suitors by trapping them in a room where he will kill them all off. After Odysseus successfully completes the challenge to shoot an arrow through several axe handles, he reveals himself and takes action on the suitors; he screams out You yellow dogs, you thought I d never make it home from the land of Troy. You took my house to plunder (Homer, 610) Part 2. The Hero s Journey identifies this is as the supreme ordeal as once the obstacle is overcome, the tension will be relieved... the worst is passed, and the quest while not officially over, has succeeded (Campbell). The New Hampshire competencies are important and meaningful to every schoolleader because they are designed to help guide principals in the right direction, and they should all be reviewed and followed. The solids of revolution for this cone will look like the following images. Thus, we return to the solid of revolutions formula Volume = ∫_a^bв –’гЂ–ПЂ (radius)^2 dx гЂ— a will equal 0 and b will equal 2.9. The radius will be the aforementioned equation of the line. This again perfectly matches the predicted volume that was calculated for the conical section of the External Tank. Thus, the total volume of the solids of revolution will match as well. 776.16ПЂ+17.052ПЂ=793.212ПЂ Since it matches, this further proves that the math is correct and effective. Solids of Revolution for Orbiter Sadly, similar to the others, I could not find sufficient data to create a detailed model of the Orbiter, so all I can attempt is model another cylinder that has equal dimensions. So, using the formula again: Volume = ∫_a^bв –’гЂ–ПЂ (radius)^2 dx гЂ— a will equal 0 and b will equal 32.85, since that is the length of the space shuttle. • 11. Technology Is Eroding All Of Humanity Over Use of Technology? How technology is eroding all of humanity. Many people believe technology to be advancing humanity s capabilities, in reality, although there are some advantages, it has many negative effects on society, and therefore the amount of technology used should be reduced to ensure the continuing existence of mankind. People of all ages from young children to adults use technology on a daily basis to learn and do things which were once done manually. People are slowly losing the ability to do simple actions such as writing a letter or spelling simple words. There is also an increasing number of health issues found to be the result of excessive technology usage. To decrease the amount of social and medical conditions in today s society the technology usage should be decreased and used more safely. Although the amount of technology used should be reduced it is still a very useful utility and should not be completely stopped. The development of new technologies, such as mobile phones, Facebook, email, Skype and FaceTime, have made it easier for people to communicate with other people at any time anywhere in the world. By developing new technology, society is able to quickly send/receive messages. For example if you want to give a message to a friend or relative you can just ring, text or email them, whereas before you would have to hand write a message which would then be hand delivered. Technology can also be useful when wanting to find out ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Andy escapes by making a hole through the wall over a twenty year period and then during a stormy night Andy breaks the sewage pipe by using a rock of concrete while it is masked by the sound of thunder. Escape is displayed very comprehensively through film techniques and characterization. When Andy escaped through the sewers and ended in the river it felt like as if he was baptised because he escaped from the claustrophobic confines of Shawshank and he also escaped the corruption and money laundering as the warden had forced him to book his laundering schemes otherwise he would make it hell for him. The major film technique that was involved in this scene was when Andy was breaking the pipe, the camera was facing up towards him and then switch to the lightning strike through the window, then quickly switch to Andy crashing the rock against the pipe. This film technique gave the effect of intensity and made the audience be on the edge of their seats. This scene if very important to the story because this when Andy literally escapes from Shawshank and the themes displayed in the scene is very important to his characterization. In conclusion, Shawshank Redemption used characterization and film techniques to display Escape through Andy and the people around successfully. Specifically, the political situation in the West Bank and Gaza Strip has led to bloodshed, political high wire acts, and cycles of hope and disappointment for decades. Consensus has generally leaned towards advocated a two state solution for the conflict, in which the Israelremains a Jewish state, and the Palestinian Arabs establish their own country carved from currently Israeli occupied territories. This solution has become more infeasible, not more attainable, efforts to find a lasting peace have occurred. While UN Security Council Resolution 242 called for Israel to remove itself from these areas and return to its pre 1967 War borders (Farsakh 2005), Israel continued its presence in the region. In the years that have followed, numerous solutions have been proposed to solve the crisis and to bring a lasting peace and sense of stability to the area. The solution most supported up to now has been the two state solution. In this solution, parts of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip (likely the full area in the latter) would become part of an independent, self governing Palestinian state, while the rest of the area would become Israeli territory. With this, Palestinians would have a nation state and could chart their own political and cultural course. Most nations and international organizations have lent their support to this idea, including the US, the UN, and Israel and Palestinian Authority (Sanger 2016), forming the basis for most peace talks aiming to resolve the conflict. The question that now remains is why has this solution not yet been achieved? The disagreement on the borders of each state remains one of the primary roadblocks to achieving the two state solution. There exists no consensus on which land would belong to Israel and which to an independent Palestinian state. One complicating issue in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Watchtel use the term cultural layering to define the collage of cultures that have fused over time in this region. This cultural layering found in East Central Europe is reflected more evidently with the infrastructure, language roots, and religion of the Balkan area. At last, the Roman set the Danube River as the empire s limit or natural divisor from the northern European unconquered territories by building limes or fortified borders. As Rome added new provinces to the empire set Greek as the official language of the Eastern part and built infrastructure throughout the region. Before incorporating the Balkan Region into the empire, Latin was the only official language in the empire. However, the language used in the Balkans area was mostly Greek, so Romans decided set Greekas the the official language of the Eastern part of the empire. Jean Sedlar, author of the book, East Central European in Middle Ages, estimated that one reason of doing so may be because the Romans admired for the Greek civilization (Bideleux and Jeffries 1998, 42). Moreover, his conjecture may be correct, due to the fact that the Roman culture was based on Greek background. Therefore, most of the Eastern part of the empire used Greek as the official language, but the Dacia province was the exception where the Romanian developed, a romance or Latin derived language. One of the myriads of examples of Roman architecture can be reflected with the Plovdiv Aqueduct located in present day Plovdiv, Bulgaria or the Ancient Roman province of Thracia. Through the 1.5 mile run I could prove that Oxygen consumption and Heart Rate depend on each other. The cardiovascular and respiratory system cannot function without the other. The heart working together allows metabolism to occur in all parts and systems throughout the body. This is done as the lungs deliver oxygen and also removes wastes. Oxygen delivery can be used as a measure of cardiac function and cardiac output. Oxygen consumption is limited to a greater extent by oxygen delivery and not by oxygen extraction. This also shows the importance of interaction between the cardiovascular and respiratory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The increased heart rate allows for a faster oxygen delivery to the muscle tissues used when jogging / running which eventually allows for an increase in oxygen consumption. Another point proving my hypothesis is that if a person is suffering from a heart failure, they have problems increasing their heart rate. Without the increase in heart rate, oxygen delivery and therefore oxygen consumption is limited. An example that is relevant would be the Weber Classification System which was used to monitor improvement in functional capacity from the beginning to the end of cardiac rehabilitation. Weber showed that oxygen extraction increases to make up for the decrease in oxygen delivery. By this research, Weber proved that the relationship between oxygen consumption, oxygen delivery and therefore also the heart rate prove to be of great importance. In the condition hypoxemia, the individual risks fainting due to a lack of oxygen transported to the brain and all other organs. This usually happens when blood passes through the lungs to quick and there is therefore only a little time for oxygen to leave the lungs and enter the blood stream. • 18. Comparing Dynastic China And Ancient Egypt Introduction: Looking over the shoulder of history, Dynastic China and Egypt were perhaps two of the most substantial, long lasting, and abiding civilizations. A dynasty is simply defined as a succession of rulers from the same family. The ancient Egyptian dynasty was present from about 3100 to 332 BC. It was ruled in the Arab Republic of Egypt. Ancient dynastic China, which lasted from about 1000 BC to 500 AD, lay in the Yellow River Valley. It can be seen that both of these societies shared quite a few cultural similarities. Occupations such as skilled weavers, mourners, musicians, stewards, composers, singers, dancers, beer brewers, and bakers were also accessible to women of any social class. Educated or wealthy women were offered professional positions such as administrators, priestesses, or supervisors. In some instances, they became judges, overseers, governors, doctors, or even prime ministers because of their ability to read and write. If a woman held the same job as a man, she received the same income and rations as a man received for the work, and so her wages made an important contribution to the family s wealth. Unlike the Egyptian women s broad range of career options, the average Chinese women s work centered primarily on the home. Tasks such as preparing food, cleaning and looking after children were the norm for the majority of women in ancient China. They were expected to have many children and most women felt the pressure to bear a son. It was common for women to take up manual labour in the home. Some other challenges Muslims serving in the military face are discrimination among their peers. Multiple of the articles discussed how many soldiers are subjects of taunts, making them feel singled out by fellow soldiers. After reviewing the article and reading I feel like there needs to be a delicate balance of making Muslim military members feel less marginalized without their being a risk for radicalization. Realistically probably the only way it would be considered humane to kill a wild animal that was in your yard would be to capture it alive and euthanize it using the CO2 method. This method is pretty simple you get a bag large enough to put cage in and seal up and the smaller container in which you put vinegar and baking soda, when you mix these two they produce CO2, once the concentration of CO2 in the bag reaches over 30% the animal will pass out and then soon afterwards it will die. Using that method means of course that you first have to catch the animal alive and a lot of people really have no skills in that area and when they usually try to catch an animal they fail. There are a heap of other methods that people use to kill animals that are causing them problems, most of these revolve around lethal traps, the main two types being snap traps which are the ones you mainly use to kill rats, mice and squirrels, as you can see these are all small animals and that is what the basic snap trap you buy from the hardware store is good for. I found Miles to be extremely relatable. For the first part of the book, he is experiencing the same things that I, and probably most other high school students, experienced. This makes it easy to understand his thought process and reasoning. That being said, he is a complete pushover. I would consider him to be the epitome of a follower. In Act 1 Scene 2, Shakespeare employs the metaphor let two more summers wither in their pride / ere we may think her ripe to be a bride . In this metaphor, Shakespeare describes Juliet as a fruit. This reference to the natural world presents Juliet as beautiful while verb such as wither and ripe present Juliet as immature and naГЇve, not ready for the serious event of marriage. Furthermore, like a fruit can easily be bruised, Shakespeare shows how Juliet can easily be damaged and how Juliet is powerless in her choices and will be chosen by a man, like how a man picks a fruit from a tree, mirrored in the Elizabethan Patriarchal society when women were powerless and it was the men who possessed all the power. However, a contemporary audience would react very different to this, possibly outraged due to Juliet s lack of choice in her life. In addition, it is possible to say that Shakespeare choosing to rhyme bride and pride reflects Lord Capulet s feelings towards Juliet marrying. However, later on in the extract, Lord Capulet says how those who are too soon marred are those too early made . In A Theory of Justice, John Rawls, an influential political philosopher of the 20th century, attempts to provide a solution to this dilemma by presenting a hypothetical situation, known as the Original Position, in which multiple parties determine the principles that will constitute the basic structure of the society they will live in. The other component of Rawls justification of inequalities is the difference principle. It holds that inequalities in wealth and social status are permitted just in case that they benefit the least well off. Thus, Injustice [...] is simply inequalities that are not to the benefit of all (Rawls, 1971). Rawls suggests that the least well off can be defined as those who occupy the class of unskilled workers and hold the least amount of wealth in society. He also suggests that inequalities be evaluated through an index of primary goods . Primary goods are those that are essential for one to exercise his moral powers, such as rights and liberties, power and opportunity, and health and intelligence (Quong, 2017). Thus, the index of primary goods is representative of one s expectations of having the necessary primary goods in order to function as a citizen while exercising his moral powers. Examples of permissible inequalities as according to the difference principle lie in idea of incentive. For instance, Rawls argues that inequalities in income are just, because they provide an incentive to work and contribute to the overall well being of the society. Thus, the skilled or talented workers of the society would require more income in order to stay productive. Without the higher income as an incentive, the talented workers would not be as productive, which in turn negatively impacts the least well off, as there ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 54. Math Observation In the beginning of my observations the students in the classroom had been practicing their addition and subtraction in a one digit numbers. However, as the year went on my cooperating teacher started to get her students to be solving two digit addition and subtractions problems. Before she started with two digit she wanted to be certain that her students felt confident along with concrete knowledge and examples in their one digit equations because if not, they would fall apart for two digit equations. My teacher had opened with two digit addition, by developing knowledge on base ten blocks for approximately two weeks, then progressed her students to the standard algorithm. My classroom is set up for their numeracy portion of the class that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... My student at the beginning of two digit addition struggled with being organized in his base ten block drawings and would get the answer wrong because he would circle 11 ones instead of 10. When he got the opportunity to work with the actual base ten blocks he had a strong concept of regrouping. Before the lesson my cooperating teacher taught them how to do the standard algorithm, which my case study student took to excellent. During the process of the standard algorithm I asked him to walk me through what he was doing and the process. He explained that he carried the one over because it was making a new ten and then counted twenty plus thirty plus ten instead of 1 plus two plus three, which I felt like the was understanding the place value. I thought during the lesson if my student was advancing ways to challenge him on this assignment would be to have him add three two digit numbers or have him add one two digit and one three digit number. Then if I felt like my student was starting to struggle I could have his partner help him solve the process, bring out the base ten blocks, or have him just add one two digit and one digit numbers until he got the concept ... • 56. Genetic Engineering Negative Essay After genes were discovered, scientists have been trying to disclose the mysteries of them. Since genes are the basic building blocks of organism, they are extremely crucial to the development of biological science. Genetic engineering seems to help the scientists explore the genomes. Genetic engineering is a relatively new technology that is used to manipulate the genome of an organism. It can be utilized to raise plants, cure diseases, create genetically modified babies, and clone living organisms. In other words, scientists can use genomes as Lego blocks to build or change an organism. When an innovative idea is introduced to people, two groups manifest: one that supports the idea and one that opposes it. Recently, as the products of the technology, such as GMO food, get increasingly more involved in human lives, people start to debate whether genetically engineering is more beneficial or harmful. On the surface of the issue, genetic engineeringseems to only serve benefits. However, while the development of genetic engineering can change our world for the better, it has various negative influences on the human race in many aspects: it is harmful toward the agricultural environment; it acts against nature; and it creates ethical problems. Scientists must consider the disadvantages of the technology carefully, before they over develop it to an extent that it creates irreversible harms which can impair the entire human race.
