Irregular Warfare
Irregular warfare is defined as a military force that is guerilla or asymmetric in nature. An enemy that
has based his doctrine around irregular warfare can be a challenging adversary to any Marine Corps
unit. In order to prepare their Marines for Irregular Warfare, small unit leaders and Staff Non
Commissioned Officers must train their platoons in a realistic manner by holding high technical
standards, synthesizing exhausting scenarios and creating frictional environments.
Staff Non Commissioned Officers can begin to prepare their Marines for the difficulties of Irregular
Warfare by training their Marines to a high technical standard. It is important that a Marine is
technically and tactically proficient in their MOS in order to have success on the battlefield and better
support the forward warfighter. An example of a Marine having a high technical standards would be
an airplane mechanic in an air wing unit that has mastered his skill and is able to rapidly and correctly
fix a mechanical error on an aircraft. This will enable that unit to retain an acceptable level readiness
and keep that unit operational. A platoon of poorly trained Marines can and will ... Show more content

battles with little to no sleep. A Marine that has been trained to function at a high level of proficiency,

Marines. A great way to develop a strong resolve under exhausting conditions could be having a field
exercise with training scenarios that implement long sleepless hours with stressful tasks or mission
requirements. Molding your training towards pushing through fatigue will certainly set your Marines

Tata Motors Executive Summary
Executive Summary Tata Motors, the General Electric of India is a conglomerate with a commanding
presence in a vast industries across India and globally. In January 2008, Tata introduced to the Indian
public it s ultra cheap car Nano . The expected retail price for the Nano was expected to be as little as
USD2,500 and would cater for the fast growing middle class segment of the Indian population. Tata
Motors was set to change the face of the automobile industry in India. This was however met with
some challenges, given the economic environment of India and thereby causing a delay of the launch
by six months. The introduction of the People s car created a new category/ trend of ultra cheap cars

Choksey Shares amp; Securities Pvt Tata Motors by introducing Nano has created a new category in
the auto industry ie ultra low cost vehicle . In the auto industry today we see automakers rolling out
(not so cost friendly) smart cars, hybrid cars etc but we have yet to see a car that fits a low budget,
environmentally friendly and fuel efficient (before the Nano). The advent of the Nano in the auto
industry has now set a new benchmark for other auto industry leaders to follow in terms of innovation.
Tata Motors thought competitors to first listen to what the people need, their affordability and only
then work towards meeting that on an innovative platform. Following Tata s footsteps, Ford, Nissan,
Volkswagen, Hyundai and General Motors are working to reshape their operations and scurrying to
introduce their own their own budget cars. Do you agree that there is a future for low budget cars like
Nano in other markets besides India? Do you think Tata Motors is going in the right direction by
trying to develop its low cost Nano models adapted to European and U.S. markets? How could you
evaluate likelihood of success of the Nano on the U.S. market? What should Tata Motors do to win
American consumers? In countries like India, China and Brazil we can see a rapid economic growth
where lower priced cars are often best sellers due to its affordability. The success and future of low
budget cars lie in these countries where growth

Stereotypes Of The 21st Century
Mostly every generation have something distinctive about it. Each generation could different one
could be more politically active, another more self centered, another more pessimistic. Generation is
when people are born and living at the same time, regarded collectively.
The 21st century is very much more diverse and digital when looking at it we could also be self
centered. This generation mostly update there lives on social media which some will would say that it
that makes the generation more self conscious. Mobile technology, social media, and internet has
advanced and increase throughout modern time also teens can spend most of their time on social
media by communicating with other people on social media. A lot of people who are older think that

Jane Goodall Personality
Have you ever wanted to help something or someone so much that you are willing to spend your life
doing it? That s what Jane Goodall did. An admirable person is someone worthy of admiration,
inspiring approval, Reverence, or affection. After what Jane Goodall did she is pretty admirable. She
spent many years of her life helping chimpanzees by observing them in there natural habitat and she
also designed programs to help them survive. She is most known for her many years of research with
chimpanzees in the of Gombe, Africa. Jane Goodall is admirable because she is compassionate,
determine, passionate about living things and making a difference. On April 3, 1934, Jane Goodall
came into the world. She was born in London England to Mortimer Herbert Goodall and Vanne Morris
Goodall. Jane also has a younger sister named Judy. When she was 1 years old she was given a stuffed
chimpanzee by her mother named Jubalee. Everyone said she would be afraid of the chimpanzee, but

determined to make the world a better place for everyone in it. If the world didn t have Jane Goodall,
that would be very unfortunate because we would be losing lots of valuable research on Chimpanzees.
Jane s work has led to protecting these endangered animals and without her, it s hard to say what

Lincoln Electric Company Case Study Study Analysis
Lincoln Electric Company Case Study Analysis In this Case Study Analysis, I will identify examples
of the types of organizational culture (innovative and stable) that the Lincoln Electric Company has, as
well as the benefits and problems the company could experience as a result of these. The idea that
stuck out the most about the Lincoln Electric Company is that they obviously have a strong culture
that all levels of employees are proud to be a part of. According to Carpenter, Taylor, and Erdogan
(2010), culture is a more powerful way of controlling and managing employee behaviors than
organizational rules and regulations (pg. 193, para. 2). The Lincoln Electric Company encompasses
facets of multiple types of cultures instead of adhering to only one. The ways in which the Lincoln
Electric Company identifies with an innovative culture are most prominently explained by the
following facets: not having a traditional hierarchy, and utilizing an open door policy when it comes to
problem resolution. As explained in the Organization Structure section of the Case Study, personnel
are encouraged to take problems to the persons most capable of resolving them [open door policy]
(Sharplin, 1989, pg. 7, para. 1). In the same section, Sharplin also mentions that, Lincoln has never
had a formal organization chart... [but] position titles and traditional flows of authority do imply

The Ethics Of Plato And Aristotle
In this essay, I will be examining the ethics of Plato and Aristotle. I will explain the five fundamental
concepts of Plato and Aristotle. I will focus on their theories on the good life as a life of justice,
censorship, knowledge and the good life. I will first explain Plato s ethics. Plato was a philosopher,
both a rationalist and absolutist. According to Plato, people must be schooled to obtain certain kinds of
knowledge for example mathematics, philosophy etc. The training will give them the ability to know
the nature of the good life. Not many people have the mental ability to learn what the good life is.
They have to be exactly like a person who has knowledge. The people who have knowledge are to be
the leaders in the society. Finding the nature of the good life is an intellectual task, which is similar to
discovering mathematical truths. They must develop righteous habits of behavior.
Plato believes that control is necessary to stop some of the experiences by young people if they are to
discover the nature of the good life. If a person can discover what is right and knows what the good
life is, he or she will not go against the principles. Plato s virtue of wisdom, courage and temperance
are in operation, a supreme virtue is indication in justice. Wisdom is the feature of the intellect.
Courage is the feature of the will. Temperance is the feature of the appetites. There is one and only one
good life for all to lead since goodness is not dependent on

Article 567 Of The 2009 Burundian Penal Code
Article 567 of the 2009 Burundian penal code punishes same sex relations with three months to two
years imprisonment and harsh fines. The National Assembly of Burundi passed Article 567 on 21
November 2008. Although shortly rejected by the state senate, Article 567 became law when President
Pierre Nkurunziza overruled the senate s decision and signed the bill into law on 22 April 2009. The
law criminalizing homosexual acts was controversial; especially, because Burundi did not have a
specific history of homosexual discrimination, however, the implementation of the new law was
reported to have been followed by a rise in anti gay sentiment. This is especially surprising, because
unlike other countries in the region Burundi did not have a colonial past of sexual discrimination. This
is not to say that before Article 567, the Burundian homosexual community did not face significant
barriers in access to care and prevention. However, the new law has amplified the challenges of
preventing HIV/AIDS within this community, which in turn negatively affects the overall efforts for
global eradication of HIV. Reports of AIDS in Burundi first surfaced in 1983. At the time, same sex
behavior was not considered a criminal act. In fact, Burundi does not always have a history of
homophobia especially compared to the discrimination faced in its neighboring countries. Today in
Burundi, HIV is one of the major causes of fatality. In 2015, about 85 000 people were living in
Burundi with HIV.

Similarities And Differences In The Book Of The Bible
I chose to write about how to help someone understand the difference between books of the Bible,
which was option two. I would first start the conversation by telling my colleague that the Bible is the
whole story of God (Cartwright Hulshof, p. 3). To explain the differences between the books of the
Bible, one must first grasp the difference between the Old and New Testaments. The Old Testament
tells how the world came into existence, the fall of man into sin, the history of God s chosen people,
and how God s chosen people would time and time again rebel against God and his law, but how God
would deliver them from their enemies. The New Testament tells how God s plan of sending a Savior
into the world to save humanity came to fruition ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These books show both similarities and differences in the books of the Bible. The Gospels include
Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Each book contains the crucifixion of Jesus, but from different
people and different perspectives (Cartwright Hulshof, p. 18). Take for instance the part of the story
where Jesus is hanging on the cross. Matthew tells how there was an earthquake happening and how
the dead rose from the earth. The tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen
asleep were raised; and coming out of the tombs after His resurrection they entered the holy city and
appeared to many. Now the centurion, and those who were with him keeping guard over Jesus, when
they saw the earthquake and the things that were happening, became very frightened and said, Truly
this was the Son of God (Matthew 27:52 54, NASB)! Mark tells how the veil was torn when Jesus
took His final breath. And Jesus uttered a loud cry, and breathed His last. And the veil of the temple
was torn in two from top to bottom. When the centurion, who was standing right in front of Him, saw
the way He breathed His last, he said Truly this man was the Son of God (Mark 15:37 39, NASB)!
The two accounts describe some of the same events but differ on some other key events that took
place during the crucifixion of

9/21/2014 President Truman began the war with the Soviet Union, guided the United States through
World War II and established a foreign policy that would carry on throughout the twentieth century.
Although the Congress and most of the United States supported him, much of the public debated if the
Truman doctrine was worthy, and this argument has continued throughout the years past. The public
that debated the Truman doctrine saw it as the beginning of the United States becoming responsible
for world order. Truman felt strongly about the responsibility of the United States in aiding other

It stated that the United States would provide Military, economic and political assistance to all of the
democratic nations that were under the threat of authoritarian forces. The Truman Doctrine reoriented
the United States foreign policy to possible intervention in conflicts beyond the United States. On
June 5, 1947 George Marshall made a speech at Harvard University which initiated the post war
European Aid program, also known as the Marshall program. Marshall s request was for an agreement
to be made among the countries of Europe, which led to the creation of the Organization for European

Character Growth in Conrad s Heart of Darkness Essay...
Character Growth in Conrad s Heart of Darkness
Joseph Conrad s Heart of Darkness explores the intellectual, emotional and moral growth of characters
throughout the novella. This character growth has been a recurring theme in literature, with the poet
William Blake, among many others, exploring theories of the movement between innocence to
experience. Although Conrad does not strictly address character growth in this manner, characters that
do and do not undergo psychological growth are portrayed quite differently. Those who undergo these
psychological changes are portrayed favorably, that is Marlow, the frame narrator, and Kurtz. These
characters throughout the novel undergo significant change, for some it is gradual ... Show more

At the start of the novella, the reader is faced with the frame narrator s thoughts, feelings and opinions,
which in relation to colonialism are rather optimistic and naïve to the reality Marlow later reveals. The
setting is the river Thames, London, where the Nellies narrator says the Thames stretched before us
like the beginning of an interminable waterway , going on to say the biggest, and greatest town on
earth , and expressing colonialism as the dreams of men, the seed of commonwealths . His opinions
represent hope, possibility and optimism. This initial description then can be juxtaposed to the end of
the novel, after hearing Marlow tale, when he says, the Thames seemed to lead into the heart of an
immense darkness .
It can be seen as evidenced above that the narrator undergoes a significant growth, from one extreme
polarization to another, however throughout the text there are various small changes that can be
inferred which lead to the eventual change (seen at the end of the novel) of the frame narrator. As
expressed by Hena Maes Jelinek He is the only one who takes part imaginatively in Marlow s tale and
is changed by it . His active participation in the story alludes that he is slowly undergoing a significant
change, he says I listened, I listened on the watch for the sentence, for the word, that would give me
the clue to the faint uneasiness inspired by this narrative . The

The Role of Hbcus in American Society
For almost two hundred years, Historically Black Colleges and Universities or HBCUs have played a
pivotal role in the education of African American people, and negro people internationally. These
schools have provided the majority of black college graduates at the Graduate and Post Graduate
level; schools such as Hampton University, Morehouse University, Spellman University and Howard
University are four universities at the forefront of the advanced education of blacks. For sometime
there has been a discussion on whether or not these institutes should remain in existence or if they are
just another form of racism. There were also concerning the quality of education provided at these
institutions. In my opinion, from the evidence provided ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I also believe that HBCUs are a better alternative to affirmative action. These institutions have the
capacity to attract and motivate many young black people, to advance their education. By seeing
people just like them, with similar backgrounds and similar interest making great achievements, it
provides those young black people with a pride and a sense of empowerment. This is most effective in
the poorer neighborhoods where morale is low. It is true that HBCUs enroll students with the lowest
test scores in American education; according to Elias Blake Jr. in the article from Emerge, Black
colleges are still enrolling a majority of the most vulnerable students that have the lowest income and
the lowest test scores (par. 7). Studies show that in many disadvantaged communities, the quality of
education is not up to par with the quality in the wealthier communities. Therefore, those in these
poorer communities are at a disadvantage. But from the statistics on the amount on the amount of
successful African Americans who graduate from these historically black institutions, something right
must be occurring. I believe that these HBCUs are an ideal environment for these students as they
place these under achieving students in an environment which they are comfortable, and allows them
the ability to develop their skills. In the end, most of

As a result of financial crisis of 2007/8 Iceland experienced greater economic destruction, and chose
to deal with the problem by allowing their economy to collapse.
Iceland s democratic government is similar to that of US in a number of key areas. But first we must
understand that many countries define democracy differently. If we mean Which country has ensured
that all adult citizens regardless of sex, race, or ethnicity, may choose representatives to exercise the
powers of government longest? , then the answer is New Zealand. Universal adult suffrage was first
established there in 1893. However, Iceland might have a claim at the title because the Althing which
is their parliament was formed by the Vikings in 930 A.D. and is the oldest still in consecutive use
today.8
The first key difference between to consider between the US and Iceland is the size of the government
due mostly to the size of the population. The US population has about three hundred twenty one
million and Iceland has only about three hundred and thirty thousand.
Because of this huge difference in population size there is a big difference in the size of government

Artler s Journey
Once upon a time, there was a carbon atom named Artler. This carbon atom started his journey as hard
wood in a pinyon tree. He stayed here for millions and millions of years. Eventually, Artler was buried
in a landslide. This eventually turned him into an atom of carbon in coal. He now carries on with his
adventure in the lithosphere of fossil fuels. Artler is now living his life happily as a piece of coal in the
lithosphere. He has been here for millions of years once again, just like with the pinyon tree. As a
piece of coal, Artler was burned in a stove to warm a nice happy family. Now, Artler is becoming
carbon in the form of CO2. Finally, he will lie in the atmosphere all by himself. For the next part of

remain here for about 40 years. However this time, Artler dissolved into Lake Powell. Here, he
remains a nice little happy carbon atom in the lake. Artler is now in the hydrosphere. Here in the
hydrosphere, Artler is carbon in groundwater. He remains here for hundreds of years. Sadly, Artler

end of his journey, as he now enters the lithosphere of limestone. Artler is not just any limestone, for
he is Kaibab Limestone. He remains here for millions of years. However, sadly, he is mined in order to
make cement. During this process, CO2 is released into the atmosphere. Once more, Artler is sent up
into the atmosphere. Artler is in the atmosphere for one last final time. He remains here for about 62

How Does Chemical Weathering Affect The Formation Of Rocks
Introduction: Rocks are a natural substance composed of solid crystals of different minerals that have
been fused together into a solid lump .1 They are so common and we see them especially along the
river bed, along beaches, also when we visit historical places we notice that most of the castles and
roads are made of rocks .If we look at the photos of these objects taken long time ago and compare
them to how these objects look now we can notice that their appearances have changed .These
changes occur when rocks are exposed to the processes such as wind, water, and biological activities
.Chemical weathering is another process which may affect rocks and to understand how rocks are

Exposure to chemical substances such as club soda, water, oxygen, carbon dioxide and acids can alter
the rocks. There are different types of chemical weathering processes such as: oxidation, carbonation,
hydrolysis and dehydration.2
Chemical weathering is much more common in locations where there is a lot of water, because water
is important to many of the chemical reactions that can take place. Club soda is a solution of water,
acid and sodium bicarbonate and is one among different chemical substances that can be used to
investigate the effect of chemical weathering in rocks.
Rocks and Stones Rocks and stones are naturally occurring solids made up of minerals. There are
three different types of rocks: igneous rocks, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks. Rocks are all
around us. Although we think that rocks remain the same over time, in fact rocks always change.
However, the changes happen so slowly which makes them difficult to see.3 Thus this research will
help me to answer the question how does club soda affects rocks.

Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck s film The Lives of Other s (2005) is set in East Berlin during the
socialist reign from November 1984, up until the fall of the Berlin wall in 1989. The political context
plays a significance role not only in the film s subject matter but also in its cinematography, which
exploits the voyeuristic tendencies of the audience, reflecting the surveillance of the Stasi Secret
Police officers. The film follows a loyal socialist and playwright, Georg Dreyman who becomes

Metropolitan Bishop
I, Eustathius, Bishop of Antioch come before you today to discuss the organization of the church.
Before I begin my discussion I would like to provide a little background information on myself. I am
the Bishop of Antioch, I was recently appointed to this position, and I have not physically been there
yet. Prior to this appointment I was the Bishop of Syria. Since I am able to trace my lineage directly
back to the apostles of Jesus, I am considered a metropolitan bishop. As a metropolitan Bishop, I
believe that we know what is best for the church. What is best for the church is to allow the
metropolitan bishops to be in charge. Metropolitan bishops should have full authority over the
doctorine and the clergy in their proper providences. This can only be done by creating a hierarchy to
organize the church as it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This can only be done by establishing a waiting period before full acceptance into the church and
clergy is granted. There should be educational requirements in addition to a waiting period before
there is a baptism into the church. There should also be a waiting period before clergy are ordained
which is to prove their spirituality. There should also be a brief waiting in addition to approval from
head leaders before a person of clergy can be promoted to a bishop. In addition to this I believe that
the bishop of Jerusalem should be appointed over Palestine instead of Eusebius of Caesarea. While
Caesarea was the seat of Roman power in Palestine it has no spiritual or theological authority in the
church. Jerusalem has tires all the way back to Genesis, when Abraham went to Jerusalem to make
Thanksgiving. The key to this issue was that we are trying to make sure that everything aligns

Polarized Light Lab Report
Experiment 10: Polarized Light
Clara Mbamalu
November 9th, 2014
Physics 1402
Professor Ndetan
Abstract: The purpose of the experiment is to learn more about the polarization of light, polarizing
filter and the light intensity changes through polarizing filters.
Overview:
The action of light is an extraordinary phenomenon. Light, for example, the one emitting from a light
bulb, is a form of wave motions that consist of electric and magnetic fields that vibrate at right angles
to the direction of travel of a light beam. The electric field that is associated with the light wave
oscillates in random directions, but is always in a right angle to the light propagation direction. An
unpolarized light is known as a light wave that vibrates ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once I began to rotate one of the filters the light became increasingly darker. It appeared to have a
tinted affect. The light appeared to change its distinction.
Within the second part of the experiment I darkened the room so that the representation of light was
more significant. When I had everything hooked up properly I was able to use the measurement tool to
make 15degree rotations accordingly. These rotations were not precise and it appeared that it only took
me 180degrees to make a full rotation. Considering that the filters were very small. I made a total of
13 readings and they are as follows: 0degrees 4.83ohms, 15degrees 15.39 ohms, 30degrees 18.82
ohms, 45degrees 15.53ohms, 60degrees 12.27ohms, 75degrees 16.60ohms, 90degrees 5.95ohms,
105degrees 9.76ohms, 120degrees 5.24ohms, 135degrees 9.20ohms, 150degrees 12.80ohms,
165degrees 16.58ohms, 180degrees 5.24ohms. These results varied, it appears as though when I made
a slight increment to the degrees it made a drastic effect to the meter

Fats and Oils
FATS AND OIL DEFINITION: Fats and oils, group of organic substances that form an important part
of the diet and also are useful in many industries. The fats are usually solid, the oils generally liquid at
ordinary room temperatures. Some tropical products, liquids in their sites of origin, become solids in
cooler climates; in commerce these often retain the name originally given, e.g., palm oil and coconut
oil. Chemically fats and oils are either simple or mixed glyceryl esters of organic acids belonging to
the fatty acid series.Fats and oils are derived from both plant and animal. sources.

They also provide nutrients to help develop and maintain your body s cells. Monounsaturated fats are
found predominantly in olives, olive oil, sunflower and sesame oils, nuts and nut oils, as well as seeds.
Recommendation: There is no need to limit your intake of monounsaturated fats. Consume extra
virgin olive oil or other nut oils that are unrefined. Cold pressed and Expeller pressed oils are the best
oils to choose as they retain most of their nutritious properties. Choose organic whenever possible.
Polyunsaturated Fats Polyunsaturated fats are associated with both positive and negative effects,
which are directly attributed to the ratio of omega 6 to omega 3 fatty acids in the diet. These terms
refer to the chemical make up of the types of fats, which each affect the body in different ways. We
need to have both of these fats in our diets, in approximately a ratio of 1:1. However, Americans tend
to consume way too many omega 6 fats. The omega 6 to 3 ratio is currently between 20:1 and 40:1 for
most Americans whereas a hundred years ago it was much closer to 1:1. This dramatic shift toward
omega 6 dominance is believed to have much to do with the rise of chronic illness in the past century.
In fact, it has been found that people diagnosed with learning disorders, depression and schizophrenia
can have ratios in the range of 50:1 to 70:1!! Inflammation is a common component of many of today
s chronic disease conditions: heart disease, arthritis, cancer, etc. Omega 3

Horse Power Farm Video Analysis
The three videos I choose to watch were Horse Power Farm, Lakeside Orchards, and Ayotte Farm.
Horse Power Farm is located in Penobscot, Maine and owned by Paul Birdsall. The distinguishing
features are on the farm s focus for producing vegetables and timber, and relying on their horses
instead of machinery. Paul s farm is specifically a mixed practice as they do have a tractor, but draft
horses are the key component. Another unique aspect of this farm is that as Paul said, training
apprentices is the most important thing they do. Without the apprentices help, they are limited in the
amount of work they can get done. Lakeside Orchards is located in Kennebec County and is owned by
Steve and Marilyn Meyerhans. They also own The Apple Farm located in Fairfield, Maine. The
distinguishing features for these two farms are the apples and apple products produced. They also have
two farm stands, one of which is opened year round. Unlike the other two videos I watched, this

The African American Resident Community
Introduction
As has been described, research at on the Levi Jordan Plantation has focused on the African American
resident community, and has revealed considerable information about the specialized crafts that were
practiced by members of this community. Evidence indicates that the use of these crafts went beyond
daily subsistence needs to include ritual use, and demonstrates multi dimensional patterns of artifact
use in their community: functional, social, and religious aspects are evident. It has been proposed that
one of these crafts was the manufacture of munitions. As first argued by Brown and Cooper 1990 (4),
one of the cabins excavated appeared to contain a high quantity of lead and other related artifacts that

Third, I wanted to examine the broader context of munitions making in terms of African and African
American beliefs, and to see how the Munition Maker participated in the internal structure of the
tenant community on the Levi Jordan plantation. I will report on aspects of the first two sets of
research questions on this paper; the questions relating to ritual will be addressed in a future forum.
Data presentation
During the field seasons of 1986 through 1988, a total of eleven units were excavated partially or
completely in the area that had been provisionally labeled as the Munition Maker s cabin. Out of the
total 255 square feet of this cabin, 206 square feet were excavated within the Munition Maker s cabin.
This represents approximately 81% percent of the total floor space in this cabin. During the
excavation the West and East brick foundations were uncovered. In this slide the West foundation wall
was seen.
From the area that was excavated a total of 30,306 artifacts were excavated from the abandonment
deposit. Of these 58.09% related to building materials, 1.15% were classified as ceramics, 30.78%
were classified as ecological, .29% were classified as farmware, 3.02% were classified as glass, .56 %
was classified as munitions, 1.6% as personal, .17% as general tools and 4.34% as utensils. The focal
point of the following review of the data will be on the use of space in terms of foodstuffs, general

The Black Lives Matter Of African Americans Essay
Everyone has now heard of the term Black Lives Matter . It is a movement that has started in effort to
help the oppression of African Americans. It started a few years back after a major incident happened
in the United States. Following this incident, the movement has had to become even more dominate
because of the senseless killings and mistreatment of African Americans. This unfortunate incident
started the movement that is now to help defend of the lives of African Americans. The Black Lives
Matter Movement started after the killing of seventeen year old Trayvon Martin. He was shot and
killed because a neighborhood watch felt as though he was a threat to the neighborhood. The only
weapon was a bag of skittles and a can of tea. George Zimmerman was instructed to stay in his vehicle
after he saw someone suspicious walking in the neighborhood. Mr. Zimmerman disregarded what the
person from dispatch told him and got out of his vehicle to follow the young teenager. Moments later
shots were fired. Zimmerman never denies shooting Trayvon and claimed it was in self defense. In his
defense, he was bleeding from both his nose and the back of his head. At first, there was no arrest
made because his story seemed to be legitimate. But then Zimmerman is charged with second degree
murder. He turned himself in was later bonded out the same day. Then he enters a written plea and
waves his right to appear at his own arraignment. In the months following there was a lot of events

Anemia Research Paper
Anemia
What is anemia?
Anemia is a medical condition characterized by low red blood cell count or mass (hemoglobin). This
can be caused by blood loss, decreased production of red blood cells, or increased red cell destruction.
Some common forms of anemia include iron deficiency, vitamin B12 deficiency, thyroid disease, and
liver disease. Patients with certain blood or bone marrow cancers may also develop anemia.
Individuals with anemia often develop symptoms of when their hemoglobin is very low or there is a
rapid drop in hemoglobin.
Symptoms typically fatigue, low energy, exertional shortness of breath, and pale skin. Severe anemia
due to hemorrhage may lead to death, particularly in elderly individuals with chronic heart or lung
disease. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The diagnosis of anemia is suggested based on symptoms and physical examination, but is typically
confirmed with a CBC (complete blood cell count). Your doctor will also usually order a CMP
(comprehensive metabolic panel), thyroid function (TSH, free T4), vitamin B12, iron studies (ferritin,
iron saturation, total iron binding capacity), and coagulation studies (PT/INR, PTT).
Other tests may include a urinalysis, heme occult stool study, reticulocyte count, haptoglobin level,
SPEP and UPEP (serum and urine protein electrophoresis), and peripheral blood smear
If you are over age 50 and have evidence of iron deficiency anemia, your doctor will likely refer you
to a gastroenterologist to undergo an upper endoscopy and colonoscopy. These tests are done in order
to rule out gastrointestinal cancer.
If you are having chest pain or difficulty breathing, you doctor may obtain a chest x ray, EKG
(electrocardiogram), and ultrasound of the heart (echocardiogram).
How is anemia treated?
The treatment of anemia is based on its severity. Severe anemia due to blood loss often requires blood
transfusion with packed red blood cells. Less urgent forms of anemia may be treated with a variety of
therapies depending on their

Silver Nitrate Test Lab Report
This reaction is observed to be an SN1 reaction which was later verified by the silver nitrate test. The
percent yield obtained for mass was 28.9%. The reason the percent yield was low could be due to the
loss of product. This could have happened in several ways including the loss of the organic phase
during extraction where too much of the organic phase could have been extracted resulting in less of
the product being formed. The lower percent yield may also be due to the reaction not going to
completion, resulting in fewer product formed. Additionally, impurities in the product also yield less
of the product. Incorrect measurements of the graduated cylinder may have also led to a decreased
yield. The weight of the graduated cylinder may have no been accurate if excess water was present
leading to added weight. Also, the filter paper used in the gravity filtration may have also not been
able to hold all the crystals and have allowed some to pass through leading to incorrect mass of
product. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

when it comes to drying of the aqueous extraction via the drying agent and in removing excess water
from the organic solvent. Moreover, the drying agent used in this experiment was the Na2SO4. The
drying agent allows for removal of water; however, if too much drying agent is used, it could lead to

The Moral Responsibilities Within A Corporation
Corporations can be large or small but they all have some sort of ethical impact on their employees,
shareholders, customers, community, and surrounding environments. Richard DeGeorge writes, We
can speak of corporations having moral responsibilities to act in certain ways, and they are morally
responsible for the consequences of their actions on people. (p. 200). Large corporations are
comprised of the board of directors, management, and their workers. They also deal with suppliers,
customers, and have competitors. This essay will examine the moral responsibilities within a
corporation.
In large corporations the success or failure of the company is the responsibility of the board of
directors. According to Richard DeGeorge, The members of the board are responsible to the
shareholders for the selection of honest, effective managers, and especially for the selection for the
CEO and of the president of the corporation. (p. 202). The board members have a moral responsibility
to ensure the corporation is run honestly, in respect to its major policies, and to ensure the interests of
the shareholders are satisfied. The next responsibility within a corporation is the responsibility
management has to its board of directors. DeGeorge writes, It must inform the board of its actions, the
decisions it makes or the decisions to be made, the financial condition of the firm, its successes and
failures, and the like. (p. 202). The management of the corporation is morally obligated to

The Great Depression Of The Twentieth Century
The Twentieth Century is a time period that is fundamentally characterized as a century of revolutions,

among the many revolutions that fought for human equality. Technological advancements such as the
first airplane, the first car, the introduction of motion pictures, Internet and cell phones advanced
communication methods and helped the labour force through reproductive methods. Along side the
marvels that emerged out of the twentieth Century, horror and fear presented change too. The great
depression, World War I, World War II, the Holocaust, the collapse of the Stock Market and Nazi take

Essay On How To Become A World Power
There are several factors that can lead a nation into becoming a world power. Economics,
Demographics, Politics and Military. The United States can accredit much of its power today thanks to
its strong military arm. The War of 1812, Capture of Hawai i and the Spanish American War were all
turning points for the power the United States has today. After President Jefferson s reelection in 1804,
fighting between Great Britain and France began to threaten American shipping. In 1806, the British

What Is The Role Of A Father Figure In Extremely Loud And...
Since the beginning of mankind, parents are the ones who take care of their children. It is their
responsibility to nurture them and guide them through life. In Jhumpa Lahiri s novel The Namesake
and Jonathan Foer s Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, the father figure plays a significant role in
mentoring their son, but ultimately it is their own perspective that guides them the rest of the way. Yet
both author s approach at expressing this are both different and the same. The lack of a father figure
has a significantly different effect on one s youthful mind than if the father were with them every step
of the way. Through the use of perspective and tragedy, both Lahiri and Foer convey the same
message from two very different stories.

In Lahiri s novel The Namesake, she takes a different approach on family than Foer. Focusing more on
the cultural aspects, Gogol questions his beliefs and background. Contrary to Oskar, Gogol has a
father who is there for him all throughout his childhood and adolescent. It is because of this that Gogol
does not have the same feelings as Oskar did for his. He always viewed his dad as an annoyance,
amplified by the fact that they have cultural behaviours that Gogol does not approve of. During
Ashoke s lifetime, he nurtured and cared for Gogol like any father would. However, Gogol did not
have the same influence from his father like Oskar. He shied away from his parents and cultural
background, evident from when he was dating Maxine. It got to the point where he did not want
anything to do with his parents in his own life. As Judith Caesar commented on Lahiri s novel, Gogol
s unhappiness may not come from the problems of being bi cultural, precisely, but from his own
limited self understand and his rational impulse to see alternative selves as binary and mutually
exclusive (Caesar). Being young, Gogol is influenced by the other cultural backgrounds that he sees.
This ultimately led to his confusion and self doubt. Unlike Oskar s goal of trying to understand his
father, Gogol is the opposite. He tries everything he can to not be like his dad. However, as the story

Postman On Education Summary
Postman finds ways that god s (narratives like myths) contributes to education. He mentions that
Public education does not serve a public. It creates a public. And in creating the right kind of public,
the schools contribute toward strengthening the spiritual basis of the American Creed. The right
answer depends on two things, and two things alone: the existence of shared narratives and the
capacity of such narratives to provide an inspired reason for schooling,,. At its best, schooling can be
about how to make a life, which is quite different from how to make a living. I choose these quotes
because it refers to the modern education which arise a problem that most students do not have a

Although Keeling s research was conducted on carbon dioxide levels, other greenhouse gases have
seen a large increase since the industrial revolution. Water vapor is the most copious greenhouse gas.
Water vapor is only termed as a greenhouse gas for its strong correlation with the average worldwide
temperature. Similar to Earth s temperature, water vapor levels have gradually been increasing,
leading to an increase in precipitation. Another greenhouse gas is methane, a hydrocarbon gas.
Methane levels are heavily influenced by human activities, such as rice cultivation and manure
management. Methane is a deadlier gas to the atmosphere than carbon dioxide is, but carbon dioxide
is more abundant in the atmosphere ( Global Climate Change ). As these greenhouse gases continue to
permeate the atmosphere, they absorb heat normally radiated back toward space and release this heat
to the surface of the Earth.
Air pollution creates a variety of different effects on the environment. Many of air pollution s effects
are visible: the loss of ice on ice caps and the premature flowering of plants and trees. Air pollution
has a great effect on the weather forecast. As stated earlier, the warmer the Earth s surface becomes
the more water vapor is released into the atmosphere, this causes a variation of extreme weather

Columbia River Tribe
For more than 10,000 years the Native American people of the Columbia River region, specifically the
Cayuse, Walla Walla and Umatilla Indian tribes, migrated in a yearly cyclical pattern. The tribes
would travel from the lowlands of the Columbia River to the highlands in the Blue Mountains in
search of safety, shelter, food, opportunities for trade and resources of energy. The most abundant
sources of food included elk, deer, salmon, berries and roots. Each of the aforementioned food sources
were spread throughout different locales and thus required a continued pattern of movement, place to
place from season to season, to collect each target food. Accumulated meats, berries and roots would
be stored for the year to come, and to last through ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These negotiations resulted in the Umatilla Indian Reservation, the Yakama Indian Reservation and
the Nez Perce Reservation. The Cayuse, Umatilla and Walla Walla tribes all agreed to live on the
Umatilla Indian Reservation together. The three tribes relinquished more than 6.4 million acres of their
native homeland to the United States government, and in return were promised the right to fish, hunt,
gather foods and medicines, and graze their livestock both on and off of their designated reservation
(see Image 1: Boundary of the CTUIR), giving them continued access to their ancestral land, which is
currently recognized as southeastern Washington and northeastern Oregon. The tribes were provided a
reservation of 510,000 acres on which they were to live. Both the natives and The United States
government negotiated the terms and recognized the sovereign authority of those involved. Congress
later ratified the treaty on March 8th, 1859. Today, the CTUIR maintains a population of about 2,965
enrolled members (CTUIR Board of Trustees,

Major Field Delay In Major League Baseball
These new rules eliminate some of the major field delays, or at least they shorten them. The no pitch
intentional walks eliminate some of the hectic wild pitches or a batter swinging at a low ball. Instead,
team managers will just notify the umpires when a walk is the desired outcome, thus bypassing all the
in between. This is something that will overall save a lot of time, but it will also face the loss of some
excitement (Shaheen). Challenges on calls is one of the things that causes a lot of delays when it
comes to the Major Leagues. This season starts a time limit for managers to call replays and
challenges to a call. They now only have 30 seconds to decide to challenge and replay after a call is
made, and there is now a two minute time ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the biggest being starting in extra innings a runner will be placed on second base, increasing
the possibility for the batting team to score in the given inning. This rule was thought up after
countless games going into extra innings. Most notably the game between the Boston Red Sox and the
New York Yankees, in 2015, where this game went into 19 innings, lasting well over six hours. There
are still so many games per season that go into extra innings, most of which stay between 10 and 13,
there are still the freak games that happen that get its way up to 19 innings. With each extra inning
adding an average of twenty minutes onto the game time, it becomes an extremely drawn out game
(Kopf). Dan Kopf discusses in his article Major League Baseball Is Testing a Rule to Start Extra
Innings with a Runner on Second , that the chances with a player added on second base in ending the
given innings a tie decrease by about 10 percent, which when it comes down to it, is a pretty big
percentage, and really anything helps when it is already a 10 or 11 inning game. With this addition,
though, the average game time will not be affected, the average extra innings game time will, and will
definitely speed up the time with a player already in scoring position (Kopf). Not only will it affect the
game time but it will also be better for the teams and the players. If a game goes into extra innings
there is the probability of running out of able pitchers, so a manager would either have to use pitchers
that are tired, and have the possibility of them hurting themselves or pull utility players to pitch, which
really is not ideal either (SI

The Role Of Achievement Motivation
CHAPTER FIVE
SUMMARY, CONCLUSION, RECOMMENDATIONS AND
SUGGESTIONS FOR FURTHER STUDIES
5.1 SUMMARY
Over the years there has been hue and cry on industrial development in Nigeria. But the focus was
mainly on the governments contribution and its activities like intervention policies and program to
realize this goal. Furthermore, huge budgetary allocation designated, and plunged into the sector
notwithstanding, only modest success, if any had been recorded. Consequent upon this, this research
topic was thought out, to depart slightly and investigate into some of the impediments, and X ray the
human variables in realizing this objective. Hence, The role of achievement motivation in industrial
development in Nigeria . Volumes of literatures were reviewed, and data was collected and analyzed.
The research work was aimed at finding out the extent to which the need for achievement motivation,
the intrinsic and autocentric self directed enthusiasm from childhood could be instrumental to
industrial growth and development. The approach therefore, takes departure from the extrinsic factors
responsible for an individual motivation. Hence the research concentrates on the manufacturing sector.
Questionnaires were administered to managers, supervisors, departmental heads occupying highly
sensitive position at the apex and junior staff. Through the investigation and analyses of the data, it
was revealed that here is a significant relationship between lack of industrious labour force and

Abuse Of Power And Corruption In Chinatown By Robert Towne
Powerful men often feel invincible. Harvey Weinstein is one among these men who feel invincible and
use their position to harm others. He manipulated women and took advantage of his position as a
producer in Hollywood with disregard for any consequences. Harvey Weinstein has been the center of
rape allegations that have made the world shed light on the sexual harassment in Hollywood. As more
and more victims come forth after decades of coercion, Weinstein s inappropriate behavior is finally
being examined. In fact, this type of perversion and exploitation of title is too familiar. Chinatown by
Robert Towne emphasizes the results of power in the world as it leads to corruption and a lethal world
created by it. The tragic film reminds us that unfortunately corruption does prevail but the truth may
offer some solace and be a step towards an end. In order to analyze corruption s existence, it must be
defined. In this sense, corruption is an abuse of power. Abuse can occur in any dynamic of
relationship. Furthermore, when a person with power has any type of relationship, there is always a
possibility that corruption is involved. For example, we most often associate the word with politicians,
who have power over ordinary citizens. However, we could also think of power relationships as
family dynamics, work dynamics or any person of power over another. In Weinstein s case, Weinstein
took advantage of the superiority he held as a film producer over actresses and potential

The idea that stuck out the most about the Lincoln Electric Company is that they obviously have a strong culture that all levels of employees are proud to be a part of. According to Carpenter, Taylor, and Erdogan (2010), culture is a more powerful way of controlling and managing employee behaviors than organizational rules and regulations (pg. 193, para. 2). The Lincoln Electric Company encompasses facets of multiple types of cultures instead of adhering to only one. The ways in which the Lincoln Electric Company identifies with an innovative culture are most prominently explained by the following facets: not having a traditional hierarchy, and utilizing an open door policy when it comes to problem resolution. As explained in the Organization Structure section of the Case Study, personnel are encouraged to take problems to the persons most capable of resolving them [open door policy] (Sharplin, 1989, pg. 7, para. 1). I will focus on their theories on the good life as a life of justice, censorship, knowledge and the good life. I will first explain Plato s ethics. Plato was a philosopher, both a rationalist and absolutist. According to Plato, people must be schooled to obtain certain kinds of knowledge for example mathematics, philosophy etc. The training will give them the ability to know the nature of the good life. Not many people have the mental ability to learn what the good life is. They have to be exactly like a person who has knowledge. The people who have knowledge are to be the leaders in the society. Finding the nature of the good life is an intellectual task, which is similar to discovering mathematical truths. They must develop righteous habits of behavior. Plato believes that control is necessary to stop some of the experiences by young people if they are to discover the nature of the good life. If a person can discover what is right and knows what the good life is, he or she will not go against the principles. Plato s virtue of wisdom, courage and temperance are in operation, a supreme virtue is indication in justice. Wisdom is the feature of the intellect. Courage is the feature of the will. Temperance is the feature of the appetites. There is one and only one good life for all to lead since goodness is not dependent on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The National Assembly of Burundi passed Article 567 on 21 November 2008. Although shortly rejected by the state senate, Article 567 became law when President Pierre Nkurunziza overruled the senate s decision and signed the bill into law on 22 April 2009. The law criminalizing homosexual acts was controversial; especially, because Burundi did not have a specific history of homosexual discrimination, however, the implementation of the new law was reported to have been followed by a rise in anti gay sentiment. This is especially surprising, because unlike other countries in the region Burundi did not have a colonial past of sexual discrimination. This is not to say that before Article 567, the Burundian homosexual community did not face significant barriers in access to care and prevention. However, the new law has amplified the challenges of preventing HIV/AIDS within this community, which in turn negatively affects the overall efforts for global eradication of HIV. Reports of AIDS in Burundi first surfaced in 1983. At the time, same sex behavior was not considered a criminal act. In fact, Burundi does not always have a history of homophobia especially compared to the discrimination faced in its neighboring countries. Today in Burundi, HIV is one of the major causes of fatality. In 2015, about 85 000 people were living in Burundi with HIV. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I would first start the conversation by telling my colleague that the Bible is the whole story of God (Cartwright Hulshof, p. 3). To explain the differences between the books of the Bible, one must first grasp the difference between the Old and New Testaments. The Old Testament tells how the world came into existence, the fall of man into sin, the history of God s chosen people, and how God s chosen people would time and time again rebel against God and his law, but how God would deliver them from their enemies. Each book contains the crucifixion of Jesus, but from different people and different perspectives (Cartwright Hulshof, p. 18). Take for instance the part of the story where Jesus is hanging on the cross. Matthew tells how there was an earthquake happening and how the dead rose from the earth. The tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the tombs after His resurrection they entered the holy city and appeared to many. Now the centurion, and those who were with him keeping guard over Jesus, when they saw the earthquake and the things that were happening, became very frightened and said, Truly this was the Son of God (Matthew 27:52 54, NASB)! Mark tells how the veil was torn when Jesus took His final breath. And Jesus uttered a loud cry, and breathed His last. And the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. When the centurion, who was standing right in front of Him, saw the way He breathed His last, he said Truly this man was the Son of God (Mark 15:37 39, NASB)! Character Growth in Conrad s Heart of Darkness Joseph Conrad s Heart of Darkness explores the intellectual, emotional and moral growth of characters throughout the novella. This character growth has been a recurring theme in literature, with the poet William Blake, among many others, exploring theories of the movement between innocence to experience. Although Conrad does not strictly address character growth in this manner, characters that do and do not undergo psychological growth are portrayed quite differently. Polarized Light Lab Report Experiment 10: Polarized Light Clara Mbamalu November 9th, 2014 Physics 1402 Professor Ndetan Abstract: The purpose of the experiment is to learn more about the polarization of light, polarizing filter and the light intensity changes through polarizing filters. Overview: The action of light is an extraordinary phenomenon. Light, for example, the one emitting from a light bulb, is a form of wave motions that consist of electric and magnetic fields that vibrate at right angles to the direction of travel of a light beam. The electric field that is associated with the light wave oscillates in random directions, but is always in a right angle to the light propagation direction. An unpolarized light is known as a light wave that vibrates ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Once I began to rotate one of the filters the light became increasingly darker. It appeared to have a tinted affect. The light appeared to change its distinction. Within the second part of the experiment I darkened the room so that the representation of light was more significant. When I had everything hooked up properly I was able to use the measurement tool to make 15degree rotations accordingly. These rotations were not precise and it appeared that it only took me 180degrees to make a full rotation. Considering that the filters were very small. I made a total of 13 readings and they are as follows: 0degrees 4.83ohms, 15degrees 15.39 ohms, 30degrees 18.82 ohms, 45degrees 15.53ohms, 60degrees 12.27ohms, 75degrees 16.60ohms, 90degrees 5.95ohms, 105degrees 9.76ohms, 120degrees 5.24ohms, 135degrees 9.20ohms, 150degrees 12.80ohms, 165degrees 16.58ohms, 180degrees 5.24ohms. Cold pressed and Expeller pressed oils are the best oils to choose as they retain most of their nutritious properties. Choose organic whenever possible. Polyunsaturated Fats Polyunsaturated fats are associated with both positive and negative effects, which are directly attributed to the ratio of omega 6 to omega 3 fatty acids in the diet. These terms refer to the chemical make up of the types of fats, which each affect the body in different ways. We need to have both of these fats in our diets, in approximately a ratio of 1:1. However, Americans tend to consume way too many omega 6 fats. The omega 6 to 3 ratio is currently between 20:1 and 40:1 for most Americans whereas a hundred years ago it was much closer to 1:1. This dramatic shift toward omega 6 dominance is believed to have much to do with the rise of chronic illness in the past century. In fact, it has been found that people diagnosed with learning disorders, depression and schizophrenia can have ratios in the range of 50:1 to 70:1!! Horse Power Farm is located in Penobscot, Maine and owned by Paul Birdsall. The distinguishing features are on the farm s focus for producing vegetables and timber, and relying on their horses instead of machinery. Paul s farm is specifically a mixed practice as they do have a tractor, but draft horses are the key component. Another unique aspect of this farm is that as Paul said, training apprentices is the most important thing they do. Without the apprentices help, they are limited in the amount of work they can get done. Lakeside Orchards is located in Kennebec County and is owned by Steve and Marilyn Meyerhans. The African American Resident Community Introduction As has been described, research at on the Levi Jordan Plantation has focused on the African American resident community, and has revealed considerable information about the specialized crafts that were practiced by members of this community. Evidence indicates that the use of these crafts went beyond daily subsistence needs to include ritual use, and demonstrates multi dimensional patterns of artifact use in their community: functional, social, and religious aspects are evident. The reason the percent yield was low could be due to the loss of product. The lower percent yield may also be due to the reaction not going to completion, resulting in fewer product formed. Additionally, impurities in the product also yield less of the product.
