Exercise 1
Part 1
How does a class being conducted online instead of on campus increase or decrease the classes
contribution to the carbon cycle during the term?
Conducting online classes not only is time efficient but also prevents students to pollute earth. Being
on campus would ask student for transportation. How will the students come from home to campus?
Universities are never on walking distances therefor having a personal car or using transits such as
buses or taxis is the only way to get to school. Universities hold thousands of students which mean if
each student carried a personal car or used the transit that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As rock breaks down, phosphate and other ions are released. Plants then absorb the phosphates from
the soil with the assistance of water. The phosphorus cycle moves the essential element from Earth s
crust into its soil, fresh water ecosystems, terrestrial ecosystems, and oceans. This process, especially
the portion involving the sea floor and Earth s crust, typically takes many millions of years.
Phosphorus
Because of its relative rarity, phosphorus is frequently a limiting factor in the growth of plants and
other organisms which relate to tropical rain forests.
Nitrogen Cycle To become biologically available, inert nitrogen gas (N2) must become fixed, or
combined with hydrogen in nature to form ammonium ions (NH4), which are chemically and
biologically active and can be taken up by plants. However, once nitrogen undergoes the right kind of
chemical change, it becomes available to the organisms that need it and can then act as a potent
fertilizer.
To the tropical forest nitrogen supports as a potent fertilizer in the forest.
Nitrogen Cycle
Carbon Cycle
The carbon cycle describes the routes that carbon atoms take through the nested networks of
environmental systems.
The abundance of plants and the fact that they take in so much carbon dioxide for photosynthesis
makes plants a major reservoir, or sink, for CO2, and thus for carbon. Carbon Cycle
The tropical rain forest is like a melting pot for carbon dioxide to

Sudden Infant Mortality Rates
High Infant Mortality rates can be reduced through proper education and routine health care checks.
Infant Mortality is the death of children under the age of one. Infant Mortality can affect anyone who
is not properly educated on being a new mother. Ohio Infant Mortality rates are ranked eighth worst
amongst the 50 states (Ohio Department of Health). Within Ohio, African American rates are the
highest at 14.8%.That s double any other race (NIH). Sudden Infant Death can also play role in Infant
Mortality rates. Not being properly educated on being a new mother before and after birth can playa

fetus develops and the course of the pregnancy. By ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
SIDS is sometimes known as crib death because the infants often die in their cribs. It is the diagnosis

make sure nothing else happened. According to the National Institute of Child Health and Human
Development, SIDS is the leading cause of death in infants between 1 month and 1 year of age.
Infants sleep environments are very important because you can t lay your child anywhere. Having
your baby there own crib or bassinet is very important. You wouldn t want you baby to sleep with you

Obama s Leadership During the Hurricane Sandy Disaster
Hurricane Sandy is probably one of the most devastating natural disasters in recent human history.
This is no exaggeration, as implied by its status as superstorm and its tongue in cheek nomination as
Frankenstorm. And indeed, there has been a significant scale of damage to property and in some cases
even to life itself. As the President of the United States of America, President Barack Obama took it
upon himself to personally visit the states that were hardest hit, and to offer support where he could.
This in itself may not be extremely unusual for a current president. However, Obama took time out of
a very busy election campaign, which he was by no means certain of winning, to lend both personal,
emotional, and financial support before, during, and after the storm. Before the storm, the President
set aside his drive to win the election to fulfill his duties as current president, in his own words, to
save lives. (Fisher, 2012). For the President, this meant acting as crisis manager and disaster official
by putting the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) on alert, ensuring that food and
water provisions were in place, and speaking with all the governors of the affected states to ensure that
they had measures in place to help and support their citizens through the crisis. He also had the
difficult task of ensuring that the country set its political differences aside at a time when these
differences were at the forefront of every consciousness in the country.

Femininity And The Anti-Vietnam War
It is not an easy task to pin down where exactly this effeminate, homosexual, deviant and ambisexual
posturing of glam rock comes from and neither it is this paper s sole aim to fulfill such a meticulous
job. Nevertheless, some thoughts on its genesis are worth mentioning. Mike Kelley links these
postures to the anti Vietnam War movement and to the resulting full scale empathic connection in
white youth for otherness in general. The greatest Other, he goes on to say, was women; if America s
problem was that it was militaristic, patriarchal, and male, then the antidote would be the embrace of
the prototypically feminine. Radical culture of this period is dominated by displays of femininity as a
sign of resistance femininity, and male homosexuality

Control and Treatment of Tuberculosis with DOTS Strategy
Introduction
Tuberculosis (TB) is one of the oldest diseases known to mankind, that despite the great achievements
of human society still remains a major health problem. Because due to the socioeconomic problems
and negligence in the treatment of tuberculosis, as well as HIV epidemy, in many countries there are a
large number of smear positive patients often remain undiagnosed. On the other hand, patients failure
to visit a physician after initiation of complaints, Lack of timely diagnosis and treatment by a
physician, inadequate treatment, improper administration of anti TB drugs, patients financial problems
in preparing medications, and patients inadequate information about their disease status and
discontinuation the medication can lead to the creation of drug resistant cases of TB. Since 1993,
World Health Organization has accepted the Directly Observed Treatment, Short course (DOTS) as a
global strategy for TB control. It is estimated that each year about 10 8 million people become
infected with TB and 3 2 million people die annually due to this disease. The World Health
Organization has declared tuberculosis a global emergency and has recommended efforts to control
the disease. Tuberculosis is considered as an endemic and common disease in east mediterranean
countries. Because of Iran proximity to Pakistan and Afghanistan (which are among most
contaminated regions in the world), our country is at serious risk of this disease. TB epidemiological

Advantages of the Toyota Hybrid Electric Vehicles Over the...
INTRODUCTION
The growing dependence of many countries, especially the USA and Europe on the imported oil and
the daily increase of oil price and the heightened concern on the global warming and the
environmental pollutions which has forced many car manufacturing companies to study the new and
innovative techniques in solving this very important issue.
Toyota as the world s third car manufacturing company and the first in Japan has introduced a new era
in the vehicles history.
Initial hydrogen, fuel cell and pure electric vehicles were not much successful as they were all very
expensive and not very efficient. The true electric vehicles did not have the required standards of an

CONVINCING CONSUMERS:
The main issue on Hybrid vehicles was that most of consumers did not believe it as a real car.
Overtime, Toyota succeeded to convince the automobile buyers that Toyota Prius is a real, usable and
efficient hybrid car.
DRIVING RESPONSIBILITY.
Toyota Prius has been equipped with a monitoring system which helps the driver to know how to run
his/her car to have a better function and reduce the fuel usage and save more energy. This helps the
driver to feel responsible on his/her driving and to maximize the car fuel efficiency.
LONG TERM PLAN BEFORE LAUNCHING THE PRODUCT:
Although Toyota invented this new hybrid vehicle more than ten years ago, it did not offer the car to
the USA consumers immediately. The main reason was that Toyota was aware of the new technology
challenges. While Toyota was on the market research and new product development, other companies
were focusing on merger and acquisition. Brand recognition, technology changes and improvement
take several years to finish and Toyota wanted to launch a product which has cleared all the possible
obstacles such as space, efficiency, speed, safety, weight which can meet all consumers expectations.
MAINTAINS ITS COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES OVER COMPETITORS
The introduction of Toyota Prius was not just a short term goal. Toyota had much broader goals.

Essay on hinduism vs. jainism
Many people believe Hinduism to be a polytheistic religion. This is due to the fact that there is so
many gods that they can worship in. But in all actuality it is really a monotheistic religion that spawns
off of one god to form many different gods or ideas to worship. The entire religion of Hinduism is
based off of Brahman. Brahman is the idea that all reality is a unity. I will explain the concept of
Brahman and four others and hopefully make Hinduism easier to comprehend.
Some have viewed Hinduism as a monotheistic religion, because it recognizes only one supreme God:
the pantheistic principle of Brahman, that all reality is a unity. The entire universe is seen as one

Karma, you hear Karma mentioned all over, don t hate her, its bad karma. Karma is the entire sum of
ones good and bad deeds. Karma determines how you will live your next life. Through pure acts,
thoughts and devotion, one can be reborn at a higher level. Eventually, a follower of Hinduism can
escape samsara and achieve enlightenment. Bad deeds can cause a person to be reborn at a lower
level, or even as an animal. The unequal distribution of wealth, prestige, and suffering are thus seen as
natural consequences for one s previous acts, both in this life and in previous lives.
Samsara and moksha are the terms used in dealing with the Hinduism concept of afterlife. Samsara is
the birth, death, and rebirth cycle. That s why Hindu s want to have good Karma so they can escape
this cycle and eventually achieve moksha. Moksha is the escape of samsara and once Hindus achieve
moksha they are set free from space, time, and matter. Moksha is what all Hindus want to achieve.

wants to remove the idea of heterosexuality from the realm of the taken for granted, subjecting it to
the dangers of analysis and the possibility of critique (67). To me this article make the readers open

Tricare Health Plans
TRICARE Health Plans is the replacement for CHAMPUS which was the provider of health care
services for military dependents. TRICARE not only replaced CHAMPUS but its purpose was also to
facilitate members with access to better health care. Unfortunately, TRICARE has gone through many
changes and upheavals since its inception in 1997. First, they began by dividing the company into
regions. Each member was placed into a region based on where the military member was stationed. If
the member was stationed in Maryland then his family belonged to the East Region. Unfortunately,
there were many problems with this plan. First, some military members and their families did not live
in the same regions. Therefore, the families either had to travel ... Show more content on

TRICARE has had many learning curves to overcome. In the beginning, the contractors were not
prepared to handle the amount of members that serve the United States Military. Also, they were
unprepared for the multitude of health issues that were plaguing the families. One such issue was the
Gulf War Syndrome which the United States Government was attempting to cover up. Over the years,
their service to members has improved but has a long way to go in order to compete with some of the
private health insurance plans that are available. Many families who have major health issues find it
more convenient to pay for private health insurance. This also allows for those families to get care
without going through the bureaucracy and red tape that surrounds TRICARE s policies.
However, not all has been lost. TRICARE is striving to succeed in providing optimal care for their
members. They have taken the initiative to enact new policies and benefits that allow for members to
see many private and local physicians and dentists. This has had a great impact on how TRICARE is
being perceived not only by their members but also the surrounding communities.

What Are The Four Books Of The New Testament
Books of the New Testament
The Bible is made complete by the New Testament because many things that were prophesied in the
Old Testament manifest in it. Some Bible scholars say that the Old Testament conceals the New
Testament that then reveals the Old Testament. Out of 66 books that make up the entire Holy Bible, 27
are of the New Testament. The 27 books can be classified according to authorship, target group and
time in history in the Christian calendar.
The first four books of the New Testament are called Gospels and are named after their writers who
lived with Jesus. These books give details on the life, teachings, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Casework In A Congressional Office
The United States Congress is the supreme lawmaking body in the United States and one of the
national legislatures in the world. Congress continues to be one of the few national assemblies that
research and drafts their own lawmaking rather than simply voting on bills created by the government
in power. Members of Congress use their office to benefit the nation versus district/state by conveying
power and influence. A Caucus System is a meeting of many party members in any part of society or
members of a legislative body for the purpose of debating and encouraging the matters of their certain
political party. There are uncommon Constituency types of Caucus systems such as, national, regional,

Casework in a congressional office refers to the response or services that Members of Congress
provide to constituents who request assistance ( Caseworking ). Examples of caseworking can be
some of the following: female genital mutilation, political asylum, and international adoptions. The
World Health Organization has condemned female genital mutilation. Only a few people pass on from
any blood loss or infection. Whoever survives, suffers higher maternal and infant humanity in
childbirth. Political asylum is decided by immigration judges to people who can set up a logical fear
of discrimination if returned to their nation of origin. The asylum will not be established if the
applicant is found to have mistreated others. However, international adoptions are sternly regulated to
stay away from trafficking in children and force on birth mothers in poverty stricken countries to give
up their children. Casework takes a lot of time and energy. Since Congress does not have all the time
in the world, it must be more general in its legislation. Pork barreling is a government appropriation,
bill, or policy that stores funds for different projects that are designed to get in with legislators with
their constituents. In other words, the candidate attempts to benefit his/her fundamental in order to
continue their support and vote. Pork barrel spending occurs when members of Congress spend
government money on types of projects intended to benefit their home districts. Certain examples of
pork barreling are Federal appropriation bills for dams, river and harbor developments, as well as
legislation intended to put off closure of out of date or unnecessary military installations and prisons.
The members of Congress use caseworking to benefit the nation because it raises the reflectivity of
members in their home state, district, or

Bartleby The Scrivener Character Analysis
In Melville s Bartleby the Scrivener , the narrator is on the hunt for a new copyist in his office. From
what we can tell of our narrator, he is an unambitious, vanilla fellow but still has an air of
condescension about him. He always thinks that he knows what is best for his employees, although in
actuality, he knows very little. Enter Bartleby: the incurably forlorn and sedate answer to his prayers
(330). Bartleby is a quiet man who gains employment at the law office of our narrator. Overall, he
seemed to be a good worker who had a few kinks the narrator thought that he could iron out, but to no
avail. At the end of his account, the narrator says Ah Bartleby, Ah humanity which suggests that he
sees Bartleby as a representation of all people. This is because the narrator thinks of Bartleby and all
other people as lesser than him and in need of his help. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He just had a few idiosyncrasies that irk the narrator, and among them are what come to be known as
dead wall reveries (338). Bartleby would often gaze out of his window at the view, which was nothing
more than a big old brick wall. Hours and hours would pass of Bartleby not doing his work, and not
even doing something for his own entertainment like reading the newspaper or drinking, like the other
copyists did. His time was consumed by these reveries, and also by not doing anything that he did not
prefer. Readers can interpret Bartleby s actions as a representation of his hopelessness. When a
character looks out of a window, it can show the reader how he sees the world. For Bartleby, his vision
is fixed on a dead wall. The view he has of the world is dead and despairing. He doesn t want to do
anything productive because he is so fixed on his lifeless

Gun Banning Texas

Attorney General Ken Paxton Sues Waller County Over Gun Ban.
https://www.texastribune.org/2016/08/30/paxton sues waller county over sign banning handgu/ This
article was published back on the 30th of August, but this particular one grabbed my attention. The
lawsuit by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton was filed on a Monday afternoon in district court in
Travis County; it was geared toward Texas new open carry law, which had already been in place since
last January. This law permits Texans with that license to open carry and own a hand gun. However, it

A local government cannot be allowed to flout Texas licensed carry laws, or any state laws, simply
because it disagrees with the law or doesn t feel like honoring it, said Paxton in a statement. Paxton s
office sent 18 letters to cities and counties since the beginning of last March after citizens had
complained about signs banning handguns from certain buildings and facilities. The issue of gun
control is very important in government, Texas government especially, because a good portion of
Texas citizens own and carry handguns. It s a topic many Texans are very passionate about on either
side. This issue comes up a lot in presidential debates, and for many citizens, this is one of the major
determining factors on which candidate they will vote for, depending on their stance on the issue. I
myself are neither really pro nor anti gun, so I don t have a strong opinion on this article; it just really
sparked my interest. I have to agree, however, even just a little, with the Attorney General in that

Desegregation In Schools Essay
Introduction
Today s public schools in the United States are faced with numerous challenges in educating our
youth. Some of which have been around for decades. School desegregation and school finance is a
couple of the ongoing obstacles for primary and secondary public education. How individual states
and school districts address these constant issues can vary and many times does not lead to a resolve.
Federal and state governments and the courts have known to play a big part in restructuring law and
school policy to influence change with desegregation and finance issues. Below is a discussion of the
history of desegregation in the United States and a summery of the aspects of school finance.

Symbolism In The Minister s Black Veil
What can the central symbol of the veil mean? The main character of Minister s Black Veil by
Nathaniel Hawthorne is a thirty years old parson Hooper who is wearing a black veil on his face. It
does not seem much fun but more like it is strange and revolting to people in the story that parson
Hooper is having a veil on the face. Why would the parson wear a veil? In the end of the story there is
a note that says that there was another clergyman in New England who ...made himself remarkable by
the same eccentricity... but the symbol here is different. He had accidently killed his friend and after
he hid his face until his own death. Either that story was real or not it makes Minister s Black Veil
more realistic and it could be what inspired the author to write the story. The Minister s Black Veil
seems like a moral allegory. Not just the veil but the act of wearing it is important. The veil also
alienates the parson from people. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hardly anyone would have sympathy for Mr. Hooper because it seems crazy to be wearing a veil

as any woman might wear on her bonnet, should become such a terrible thing on Mr. Hooper s face! .
People in the town could not find out why Mr. Hooper is covering up his face. Goodman Gray of the

us free from all sinful reactions that can later lead to happiness and knowledge. Rajas are known to be

darkness and crudeness. They are the ones who are born with ignorance and madness. Higher worlds
are Sattva, middle worlds are rajas, and lower worlds are tamas. Each of the three Gunas try to have
higher power, and overpower one another. They are responsible of the behavior of all living things.
The goal of the three Gunas is to create a bondage through desires. Understanding the three Gunas
helps a devotee overcome their battles, and can accomplish perfection. Our souls are known to be

Symptoms And Symptoms Of Heart Disease
Heart disease is common among dogs almost as common as it is in humans. If you own a dog, and you
have some concerns about your dog s health, it is important to understand what type of heart disease
complications your dog may experience, especially in response to infection, illness, diet, and lack of
exercise. For many dogs the symptoms and complications of heart disease are similar to what you
would expect to see in human symptoms. Heart disease in dog s can be attributed to congenital
complications as well. Typically, when your dog is young, you will want to have your dog evaluated to
determine if there are any congenital complications that may pre dispose your dog to heart
complications early in life. When compounded by heart disease development, due to poor diet or other
infections, your dog will typically show signs of poor tolerance for exercise, have some swelling
around the stomach and may even show signs of weight loss. When evaluated, your dog s veterinarian
is going to listen for the presence of a gallop heart sound which is indicative of swelling in and around
the heart. The gallop heart sound will be a sound that is similar to a third heart beat or echo and can
typically only be heard with a stethoscope. Heart murmurs in dogs are also quite common and while
they can, to some extent, be corrected with surgery, most dogs will live a long time with heart murmur.
But, when heart disease is a concern, you will want to address the heart murmur issues as well.

Recycling Of Recycling
Introduction
In today s world recycling has become a major benefactor to preserving the environment and the
world. One product, among many, being recycled has shown a huge increase in energy savings and
costs, and that is aluminum. Using aluminum can pieces with KOH (potassium hydroxide) and other
reactants will eventually lead to the production of alum.
Materials and Methods Starting the experiment, 1.0184 g of aluminum pieces were weighed out on an
analytical balance. The aluminum was then placed in a 250 mL beaker containing 50.1 mL of 1.4M
potassium hydroxide. The solution was then heated on a hot plate set at 80ºC for approximately 35
minutes with a spin of 240 RPM. At the end of the 35 minutes, the solution has become black in color
and many of the pieces have broken down. The beaker was rinsed with 10 mL of distilled water after
the mixture was poured through the Büchner funnel of the aspirator. The filtrate was put into a clean
250 mL beaker to be added with 20.5 mL of 6.0M sulfuric acid, stirred slowly when added. The
reaction was then put into a 1L beaker ¾ full of ice and water to kick start the reaction into making the
alum crystals. The stirring rod was used to help activate the crystals. Once the making of the crystals
had finished, it was poured into the filtration apparatus to separate the crystals from the solution.
While the crystals were drying, the watch glass was weighed at 57.1161 g on the analytical balance.

It begins with Joshua and the rest of the Israelites are commanded to leave Lebanon. God tells them it
is time for them to take Canaan from the Hittites. God says that if they follow the commands of Moses
they will be successful in all their endeavors. They head over to Canaan and set up camp. Joshua
sends two spies into Jericho, a city in Canaan, to find out the weaknesses and the best way to attack.
While there, someone spots them and gets word to the King that there are Israelite spies in Jericho that
have come back to take Canaan. The spies go into the house of Rahab, the prostitute, whose house is
built into the city wall. Rahab hides them on her roof when the guards come to look for the spies. She
tells them she knows they are there to take Canaan and asks that her and her family are spared when
they come to defeat the Hittites. She says that she knows the land rightfully belongs to the Israelites
and they will kill everyone. The spies grant her and her family protection. The spies return to the
Israelite camp and report all that happened. Joshua is instructed by the Lord to have all the Israelites
walk around the walls of Jericho for seven days silently and on the seventh day, yell and blow
trumpets. They carry out the Lord s instructions and the walls of Jericho collapse. The Israelites
overtake the Hittites of Jericho and Rahab and her family stay with the Israelites for the rest of her
life. The King of Canaan hears about the fall of Jericho and sends his armies to defeat the Israelites
and take back Jericho. The Lord tells Joshua that despite the fact that the King s army is larger, God
will allow them to defeat the Hittites. The people are not afraid and win the battle. Many years later,
Joshua is dying and begins to make sure everything will run smoothly after his death. Joshua warns
the Israelites to follow Book of the Law of Moses, or else God will not protect them. The

Analysis Of A Complicated Kindness
Literature is arguably the most significant aspect taught in high school. It allows us to expand our
minds to interpret human nature and its consequences. Several high school curriculums neglect the
importance of improving the novels to better fit current generations, which consequently reduces its
impact. A Complicated Kindness is a novel by Miriam Toews that should be implemented in the
English curriculum, as it not only relates to high schoolers in today s society, but is also deemed one
of the best Canadian books through its personal touch and prominent themes that relate to other
important novels. Novels in the curriculum have a level of significance in the literature world that
evidently shows its importance and authenticity. A Complicated Kindness has been awarded with
several awards such as the prestigious Governor General s Award for English Fiction in 2004 and the
CBA Libris Fiction Award. It has also been regarded as the novel all Canadians should read in the
2006 Canada Reads competition. Numerous critics have noted the personal touch that comes from
Toews extensive background. A critical review from Margaret Boe Birns states, A Complicated
Kindness explores both the old fashioned world of the Mennonites and its bete noire of encroaching
modernity and although the Mennonite community is subjected to a great deal of Toews brilliant wit,
it is interesting to see the degree in which it survives her interrogation. The author has her own

Evolution Of Lincoln s Policy On Slavery Essay
Evolution of Lincoln s policy on slavery in the United States.
Abraham Lincoln was the great man of his generation just as well as he is considered a great man in
history today. He made a huge difference that impacts us greatly today still. He is one of the main
reasons to why we do not have slavery around anymore, along with some help of other people back
then that supported him. Even though, racism still exist today it is not as horrifying and sickening as to
how it was before back in the 1800s. Considering the fact that Abraham Lincoln ended slavery, in
order to have achieve this he created many policies to permanently put slavery to a final end. Some of
these policies were: The Gettysburg Address, the Thirteenth Amendment, Emancipation Proclamation,
and so on. Slavery was a serious problem that needed a solution and he just so happened to be the type
of man that never quit to achieve what he wanted or thought what was right until he achieved his goal.
This is a great quality that he had and some of the reasons to why this man was and is greatly
respected and appreciated before and today. He detested how unequal African Americans were being
treated by the people that supported slavery and thought it was the right thing because African
Americans were only three fifths of a person. He did not like how the people of the black race did not
have all the rights as of the white race, which is why he created the thirteenth amendment. Abraham
Lincoln would make speeches and

Couple Therapy
Gender differences in couples work
Couple therapy often refers to the common negative process, of pursuer and withdrawer, in order to
understand the relational dance. This is the process where one partner purses the other through
emotional demands, criticism, and complaints, while the other retreats through withdrawal,
defensiveness, and passive interaction (Christensen, Heavey,1990). Many theorists have identified a
gender linkage with this pattern, suggesting women present as the demanding, pursuer, while men
assume the role of the distant, withdrawer (Christensen, Heavey,1990; Mornells, 1979). There is a
belief among some theorists that this pattern results from different personality characteristics of men
and women, and therefore impacted ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Same sex couples report having less family support than heterosexual couples, this doesn t appear to
be completely to do with estrangement from family of origin, rather many couples contend with
family relationships that are difficult and stressful (Rostosky et al., 2004). Rarely do same sex couples
enjoy immediate, consistent, and pervasive emotional support and acceptance upon disclosure of their
relationship to their families of origin (Rostosky et al., 2004). Many theorists believe the coming out
stage is necessary in the development of a healthy identity. The coming out stage often is a time of
great stress as individuals anticipate the reactions of their family of origin. Rostosky s (2004) research
indicates that same sex couples perceived support from family of origin no matter how tenuous has a
powerful impact on same sex couple, even after the initial

I am new to the hobby of keeping and maintaining an aquarium. My boyfriend, Andrew, gave me an
aquarium for my birthday two months ago. I was very excited. When I was little, my family had two
goldfish in a small, round bowl. Watching my mother clean out the tank was the extent to which I
knew how to care for fish. The aquarium that Andrew gave me is an Eclipse 6; a six gallon aquarium
equipped with a bio wheel filtration system. The bio wheel system is a three step filtration system: the
water is sucked out of the aquarium into a tube, passed along a carbon filter, and then into a chamber
that houses a bio wheel a small rotating filter that absorbs impurities from the water. Finally, the water

It was very hard at first but I finally caught on. The first challenge that I had to overcome was the
intimidation factor that the computer and the Internet caused. I was constantly worried that I would
inadvertently damage a program, or a file, and I was therefore hesitant and apprehensive. I realized
that allowing myself to experiment with things was the only way that I would truly learn to get around
the web.
And the search began. Since I was not familiar with what was available to people on the Internet, I
began playing around while searching for my topic of interest: aquariums. I searched the web by
typing key words in a search engine like Yahoo or Lycos. This took me to several sites on the topic of
fish keeping. I ran across the FAQ s web site called The Aquaria. This site gave me tons of helpful
information regarding the steps I needed to follow to start up and keep a healthy aquarium. I learned
that the gravel should be rinsed thoroughly before going into the tank something I had not done and,
thinking back, how I introduced disaster into my first attempts at setting up a tank. I also learned that
the aquarium needed to run for at least a week without any fish in it so that the many levels of
chemicals in the water could have a chance to stabilize. After looking at several other sites, I finally
felt that I too could keep a healthy aquarium and

Single-Sex Education Vs Single Sex Schools
In 2002, the National Association for Single Sex Public Education (NASSPE) was first founded there
were only about a dozen schools that offer some form of single sex education. But since 2012, the
number has increased by at least 500 public schools now offering single sex educational opportunities.
Single sex schools benefit students as they achieve better marks and test scores compared to co ed
schools. The academic achievement made by students in single sex schools broadens when girls and
boys are separated from the opposite sex due to distractions, gender differences, and learning
environment. Single sex schools can be educational than co ed school because boys are less attracted
by girls and girls are also less obsessed with the boys. Therefore, students may pay more attention in
class without the distractions from the opposite sex. Single sex education has a delightful way of
encouraging students to be fearless, curious, enthusiastic, and to simply be themselves. Firstly, there is
less pressure to act cool around friends of other sex. Secondly, there is less conflict between friends of
the opposite sex. Thirdly is more relaxed attitude such as not putting on a show for boys or girls they
like. Last but not least, they have lower levels of anxiety over appearance or clothing to impress the
opposite sex. According to this chart girls tend to spend more time at school over boys. This could
potentially mean in co ed school boys hold girls back from learning to

Corporate Governance Of The Sarbanes Oxley Act Of 2002
As of today, an international corporate governance model does not exist. Corporations are bound by
the laws and regulations of a country and the shareholders expectations. Even countries with similar
histories, customs, languages, and ethnicities such as the United Kingdom ( U.K. ) and the United
States ( U.S. ) have different corporate governance standards (Monks Minow, 468). While the U.K.
has a separate code of corporate governance with guidelines, the U.S. incorporates their governance
policies within their laws. The U.S. regulates corporate governance through the Sarbanes Oxley Act of
2002 ( SOX ), the Securities Exchange Commission ( SEC ), and stock exchange guidelines. U.S.
corporations are registered in particular states, so ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
U.S. organizations are held by many shareholders who are uninvolved in the daily running of the
company. Institutional investors usually have the largest stakes. Governance of companies is
determined by the states, but U.S. states do not give shareholders many enforceable rights. This is
different in the U.K., where the shareholders and their objectives are the purpose of financial reporting
(ValueWalk). The Institutional Investors Committee ( IIC ) of the U.K. adopted a statement of codes
and responsibilities. This statement includes clarifying the priorities for certain matters and deciding
when to take action; observing the performance of and having conversations with portfolio companies;
intervening when necessary; assessing the influence of activism efforts; and reporting back to clients
and owners (Monks Minow, 2011). In the U.K., the shareholders are the customer and the enforcers,
whereas in the U.S., companies are focused on how well they are doing in the market. The U.S. has
separation of ownership and management. SOX gave the SEC the ability to prevent people from
serving as officers and directors. Non executive directors oversee the managers performance. The
board of directors includes the executive the non executive directors who plan the path of the
organization. The independent directors main responsibility is to manage all activities of the
management board.

A Theory Of Current Interest
Full description of a theory of current interest in the field of marketing Trust Commitment theory
Trust and commitment appear to be illusive entities. Without trust and commitment of some type, it is
very difficult to conduct business long term. What follows is an analysis of current views of what trust
and commitment actually means. Current view of trust and commitment With regard to commitment,
the current view is that which differentiates believability from the extension of goodwill (Amani,
2015). Secondly, the view is such that commitment is actually a normative rather than a calculative
affair, as was thought to be the case in the past (Amani, 2015). Finally, this view regarding trust and
commitment is one of a relationship that is built on customers who are simply dissatisfied with other
suppliers of goods and services and settle on the supplier that leaves them the least dissatisfied
(Amani, 2015). What this means is that, although trust and commitment appear to be illusive entities
in today s competitive marketplace, this is apparently a view that states that there is a normative
element associated with commitment and trust (Amani, 2015). This normative component likely
bridges the gap between dissatisfied customers and those customers who are simply less dissatisfied
with a given supplier and, therefore, remain loyal. In other words, loyalty is the key to maintaining a
high level of commitment on the part of buyers. Trust Trust also has sub dimensions,

Abraham Lincoln was a Hypocrite Essay
Abraham Lincoln was a Hypocrite
Abraham Lincoln was always known as a good and honest man. There are many other opinions that
refute this statement. Many theories say that Lincoln was far from good and honest. Throughout his
life he tried to do good then as president he tried to hold a nation together by tactics that could be
looked at as unpleasant. Abraham Lincoln is considered a hero to many, but he could also be looked at
to be a hypocrite and a racist because of his ideas about the Negro race and slave policy during his
time. Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809 in Harden Country, Kentucky. From an early
age he was known as Abe. Lincoln later moved to Kentucky with his parents. Lincoln always wanted

pag.).
This clearly shows that Lincoln was not out for the Negro but just to preserve the union. He says in
many other debates that he thought the Negro had a physical difference from the white man as well as
an intellectual difference (Lincoln Douglas, n. pag.). Lincoln was considered by many in the south to
be a bigot, a white supremacist who wanted segregation and opposed civil and political rights for
blacks (Oates 21). Stephen B. Oates talks of many of the theories in his book, like that many
southerners concluded that Lincoln was with them in the matters of race (22). Many of these examples
show that Lincoln was a hypocrite of some sorts. He would appeal to the southerners by making
statements that led them to believe that he was against the Negro. Yet he was writing the emancipation
proclamation that was supposed to free all of the slaves. This also is debatable that the proclamation
freed any slaves at all. The emancipation proclamation is looked at by some as one of the most far
reaching pronouncements ever issued in the United States (Oates 25). Also it is said that the
proclamation freed few if any bondsman (Oates 26). Abraham Lincoln talked of the slave issue at
many occasions. He said that his paramount object

Review Of Quotes From If I Could-Poem About Giving
If I had $51,000
If I had $51,000, I would save the money for college and give some of the money for charities. The
first thing I would do with the money is give $13,000 to charity. A good quote from If I Could Poem
about Giving by Maurice Yvonne that got me thinking about giving money to charity is when the
poem says wipe away the tears from the hungry, the abused, the sickly, children, and elderly. The
Reason why this quote makes me want to give some of my money to charity is that I feel sad that
some of the children and elderly in the world go threw life in the worst way. One of the ways I can
help is giving money to people who can help the children and elderly be happy. Also another quote

Conducting online classes not only is time efficient but also prevents students to pollute earth. Being on campus would ask student for transportation. How will the students come from home to campus? As rock breaks down, phosphate and other ions are released. Plants then absorb the phosphates from the soil with the assistance of water. The phosphorus cycle moves the essential element from Earth s crust into its soil, fresh water ecosystems, terrestrial ecosystems, and oceans. This process, especially the portion involving the sea floor and Earth s crust, typically takes many millions of years. Phosphorus Because of its relative rarity, phosphorus is frequently a limiting factor in the growth of plants and other organisms which relate to tropical rain forests. Nitrogen Cycle To become biologically available, inert nitrogen gas (N2) must become fixed, or combined with hydrogen in nature to form ammonium ions (NH4), which are chemically and biologically active and can be taken up by plants. However, once nitrogen undergoes the right kind of chemical change, it becomes available to the organisms that need it and can then act as a potent fertilizer. To the tropical forest nitrogen supports as a potent fertilizer in the forest. Nitrogen Cycle Carbon Cycle The carbon cycle describes the routes that carbon atoms take through the nested networks of environmental systems. The abundance of plants and the fact that they take in so much carbon dioxide for photosynthesis makes plants a major reservoir, or sink, for CO2, and thus for carbon. • 5. Obama s Leadership During the Hurricane Sandy Disaster Hurricane Sandy is probably one of the most devastating natural disasters in recent human history. This is no exaggeration, as implied by its status as superstorm and its tongue in cheek nomination as Frankenstorm. And indeed, there has been a significant scale of damage to property and in some cases even to life itself. As the President of the United States of America, President Barack Obama took it upon himself to personally visit the states that were hardest hit, and to offer support where he could. This in itself may not be extremely unusual for a current president. However, Obama took time out of a very busy election campaign, which he was by no means certain of winning, to lend both personal, emotional, and financial support before, during, and after the storm. Before the storm, the President set aside his drive to win the election to fulfill his duties as current president, in his own words, to save lives. (Fisher, 2012). For the President, this meant acting as crisis manager and disaster official by putting the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) on alert, ensuring that food and water provisions were in place, and speaking with all the governors of the affected states to ensure that they had measures in place to help and support their citizens through the crisis. He also had the difficult task of ensuring that the country set its political differences aside at a time when these differences were at the forefront of every consciousness in the country. ... Femininity And The Anti-Vietnam War It is not an easy task to pin down where exactly this effeminate, homosexual, deviant and ambisexual posturing of glam rock comes from and neither it is this paper s sole aim to fulfill such a meticulous job. Nevertheless, some thoughts on its genesis are worth mentioning. Mike Kelley links these postures to the anti Vietnam War movement and to the resulting full scale empathic connection in white youth for otherness in general. The greatest Other, he goes on to say, was women; if America s problem was that it was militaristic, patriarchal, and male, then the antidote would be the embrace of the prototypically feminine. This helps the driver to feel responsible on his/her driving and to maximize the car fuel efficiency. But in all actuality it is really a monotheistic religion that spawns off of one god to form many different gods or ideas to worship. The entire religion of Hinduism is based off of Brahman. Brahman is the idea that all reality is a unity. I will explain the concept of Brahman and four others and hopefully make Hinduism easier to comprehend. Some have viewed Hinduism as a monotheistic religion, because it recognizes only one supreme God: the pantheistic principle of Brahman, that all reality is a unity. Unfortunately, TRICARE has gone through many changes and upheavals since its inception in 1997. First, they began by dividing the company into regions. Each member was placed into a region based on where the military member was stationed. If the member was stationed in Maryland then his family belonged to the East Region. Also, they were unprepared for the multitude of health issues that were plaguing the families. One such issue was the Gulf War Syndrome which the United States Government was attempting to cover up. Over the years, their service to members has improved but has a long way to go in order to compete with some of the private health insurance plans that are available. Many families who have major health issues find it more convenient to pay for private health insurance. This also allows for those families to get care without going through the bureaucracy and red tape that surrounds TRICARE s policies. However, not all has been lost. TRICARE is striving to succeed in providing optimal care for their members. They have taken the initiative to enact new policies and benefits that allow for members to see many private and local physicians and dentists. Examples of caseworking can be some of the following: female genital mutilation, political asylum, and international adoptions. The World Health Organization has condemned female genital mutilation. Only a few people pass on from any blood loss or infection. Whoever survives, suffers higher maternal and infant humanity in childbirth. Political asylum is decided by immigration judges to people who can set up a logical fear of discrimination if returned to their nation of origin. The asylum will not be established if the applicant is found to have mistreated others. • 15. Bartleby The Scrivener Character Analysis In Melville s Bartleby the Scrivener , the narrator is on the hunt for a new copyist in his office. From what we can tell of our narrator, he is an unambitious, vanilla fellow but still has an air of condescension about him. He always thinks that he knows what is best for his employees, although in actuality, he knows very little. Enter Bartleby: the incurably forlorn and sedate answer to his prayers (330). Bartleby is a quiet man who gains employment at the law office of our narrator. Overall, he seemed to be a good worker who had a few kinks the narrator thought that he could iron out, but to no avail. At the end of his account, the narrator says Ah Bartleby, Ah humanity which suggests that he sees Bartleby as a representation of all people. This is because the narrator thinks of Bartleby and all other people as lesser than him and in need of his help. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His time was consumed by these reveries, and also by not doing anything that he did not prefer. Readers can interpret Bartleby s actions as a representation of his hopelessness. The lawsuit by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton was filed on a Monday afternoon in district court in Travis County; it was geared toward Texas new open carry law, which had already been in place since last January. The issue of gun control is very important in government, Texas government especially, because a good portion of Texas citizens own and carry handguns. It s a topic many Texans are very passionate about on either side. This issue comes up a lot in presidential debates, and for many citizens, this is one of the major determining factors on which candidate they will vote for, depending on their stance on the issue. • 18. Symbolism In The Minister s Black Veil What can the central symbol of the veil mean? The main character of Minister s Black Veil by Nathaniel Hawthorne is a thirty years old parson Hooper who is wearing a black veil on his face. It does not seem much fun but more like it is strange and revolting to people in the story that parson Hooper is having a veil on the face. Why would the parson wear a veil? In the end of the story there is a note that says that there was another clergyman in New England who ...made himself remarkable by the same eccentricity... but the symbol here is different. He had accidently killed his friend and after he hid his face until his own death. Either that story was real or not it makes Minister s Black Veil more realistic and it could be what inspired the author to write the story. The Minister s Black Veil seems like a moral allegory. Not just the veil but the act of wearing it is important. The veil also alienates the parson from people. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 20. Symptoms And Symptoms Of Heart Disease Heart disease is common among dogs almost as common as it is in humans. If you own a dog, and you have some concerns about your dog s health, it is important to understand what type of heart disease complications your dog may experience, especially in response to infection, illness, diet, and lack of exercise. For many dogs the symptoms and complications of heart disease are similar to what you would expect to see in human symptoms. Heart disease in dog s can be attributed to congenital complications as well. Typically, when your dog is young, you will want to have your dog evaluated to determine if there are any congenital complications that may pre dispose your dog to heart complications early in life. When compounded by heart disease development, due to poor diet or other infections, your dog will typically show signs of poor tolerance for exercise, have some swelling around the stomach and may even show signs of weight loss. When evaluated, your dog s veterinarian is going to listen for the presence of a gallop heart sound which is indicative of swelling in and around the heart. The gallop heart sound will be a sound that is similar to a third heart beat or echo and can typically only be heard with a stethoscope. Heart murmurs in dogs are also quite common and while they can, to some extent, be corrected with surgery, most dogs will live a long time with heart murmur. Some of these policies were: The Gettysburg Address, the Thirteenth Amendment, Emancipation Proclamation, and so on. Slavery was a serious problem that needed a solution and he just so happened to be the type of man that never quit to achieve what he wanted or thought what was right until he achieved his goal. This is a great quality that he had and some of the reasons to why this man was and is greatly respected and appreciated before and today. He detested how unequal African Americans were being treated by the people that supported slavery and thought it was the right thing because African Americans were only three fifths of a person. Single-Sex Education Vs Single Sex Schools In 2002, the National Association for Single Sex Public Education (NASSPE) was first founded there were only about a dozen schools that offer some form of single sex education. But since 2012, the number has increased by at least 500 public schools now offering single sex educational opportunities. Single sex schools benefit students as they achieve better marks and test scores compared to co ed schools. The academic achievement made by students in single sex schools broadens when girls and boys are separated from the opposite sex due to distractions, gender differences, and learning environment. Single sex schools can be educational than co ed school because boys are less attracted by girls and girls are also less obsessed with the boys. Therefore, students may pay more attention in class without the distractions from the opposite sex. Single sex education has a delightful way of encouraging students to be fearless, curious, enthusiastic, and to simply be themselves. Firstly, there is less pressure to act cool around friends of other sex. Secondly, there is less conflict between friends of the opposite sex. Thirdly is more relaxed attitude such as not putting on a show for boys or girls they like. Without trust and commitment of some type, it is very difficult to conduct business long term. What follows is an analysis of current views of what trust and commitment actually means. Current view of trust and commitment With regard to commitment, the current view is that which differentiates believability from the extension of goodwill (Amani, 2015). Secondly, the view is such that commitment is actually a normative rather than a calculative affair, as was thought to be the case in the past (Amani, 2015). Finally, this view regarding trust and commitment is one of a relationship that is built on customers who are simply dissatisfied with other suppliers of goods and services and settle on the supplier that leaves them the least dissatisfied (Amani, 2015). What this means is that, although trust and commitment appear to be illusive entities in today s competitive marketplace, this is apparently a view that states that there is a normative element associated with commitment and trust (Amani, 2015). This normative component likely bridges the gap between dissatisfied customers and those customers who are simply less dissatisfied with a given supplier and, therefore, remain loyal.
