Education For All Handicapped Children Act
These laws listed below were unfortunately put in place to fight the ignorance and blatant
discrimination disabled people were faced with. While these laws are a blessing to many, the fact that
they had to be put in place reflect terribly, but truthfully on how many people see people with
disabilities. My only hope is that one day these laws will be unnecessary, because people will start to
treat those with disabilities according to their needs.
IDEA; Individuals with Disabilities Education Act 1990
1. IDEA or Individuals with Disabilities Education, formerly known as the Education for All
Handicapped Children Act (EHA) lasted from 1970 to 1990. Then in 1990, the United States Congress
changed the title to IDEA.
2. This act was solely focused on affording children with disabilities the same opportunity of
education as children without disabilities. The act states that schools must serve the educational needs
of eligible students with disabilities; they also must evaluate students suspected of having disabilities.
This is beneficial to children who parents suspect need testing, but cannot afford testing or help.
IDEA is composed with four parts. Part A is the general provisions of the law. Part B covers aid of
education for all children with disabilities. Part C is for infants and toddlers with disabilities, this
includes children from birth to age three. Finally Part D is the national support programs. Parts A, B,
C, and D are all essential to the utmost fulfillment

Nelson Museum
The Nelson Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, Missouri, is known for its wide variety of
architectural artworks, and its collection of Asian art. It also has many works of Medieval and Ancient
art, while also showing some present art pieces. My experience through the museum went very well.
Throughout the whole museum, there wasn t any place to look that was boring, or didn t involve art,
which was very cool. I liked how the pieces were labeled with a helpful description, and were
categorized in similar sections. All the art pieces having the interesting descriptions, helped me
understand the visual, value, and history behind all of the pieces, which I found very helpful relating
them to class. Outside in the front lawn of the Nelson museum, I found the big, architectural
structures, the Shuttlecocks, were very eye appealing, and caught my attention immediately. They
were four shuttlecocks, built in 1994 of aluminum, and fiberglass reinforced plastic, that are painted
white and orange. The sculptures looked to me as some sort of structural pop art, to possibly represent
the fun outdoors in people s daily lives.
The lines of the structure stuck out to me, the lines of the end of the shuttlecock appeared busy but
perfectly aligned, which led my eyes to the rounded, red, end of the structure. I found out that each
shuttlecock weighed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Gutenberg Bible Essay
Created by Johannes Gutenberg, The Gutenberg Bible was the first mass produced book through the
use of a moveable printer. Known for its artistic Latin writing, the Bible only has forty nine copies
remaining, one residing at the Harry Ransom Center at The University of Texas at Austin. The
Gutenberg Bible exhibits religious qualities from the message, directly from God, and the original
purpose of the creation of the Bible.
A vital component of The Gutenberg Bible is the origin of the divine message in the religious text. The
basis of religion is when someone believes or follows something or someone devotedly. Therefore in
Christianity, anyone who receives and lives by the word of God will be granted eternal life in heaven.

The Gutenberg Bible s purpose was to spread the message of God that can view through the mass
production of the Bible for the first time in history. Due to the moveable printer, the Bible were more
accessible to a larger audience. According to Mark 16:15, And He said to them, Go into all the world
and preach the gospel to every creature, the spreading of God s Gospel is a message told by God for
his followers to perform. Therefore, Johannes Gutenberg s actions in producing the Bible was a sacred
act through the following of God s message. By following God s message, the object that is used, The
Gutenberg Bible, is then a religious item used for the religious act. Because of the newly invented
Bible, the common man had an opportunity to have a material presence of God that wasn t available to
them beforehand. For the common man, The Gutenberg Bible represented the divine, as the book was
the words of God and to the common man, God himself. Furthermore, The Gutenberg Bible s
aesthetic qualities are seen through the font of the Bible that serve to augment the religious qualities of
the message sent by God. Just as mentioned in class, decorated text or calligraphy, the artistic qualities
of the text brings the viewer into the text and entices them into the continual reading of the text. In the

The Role Of Protein And Carbohydrate Utilisation During...
Introduction
Post exercise nutrition, especially protein, plays an important role of the training regimen amongst
athletic population. Post exercise nutrition is used to improve performance and enhance the body s
recovery process following exercise. This review will focus on the role of protein and carbohydrate
utilisation post exercise and there effects on protein synthesis. Anabolic and catabolic processes are
controlled by the neuroendocrine system in response to training. Resistance training produces a
catabolic state, in which the muscle proteins are broken down. During recovery an anabolic state
predominately takes over leading to muscle repair and growth (Plowman Smith, 2014). The
macronutrient protein has grasped attention during the recovery phase of exercise. Protein plays
multiple important roles throughout the entire body, regulating every chemical reaction and used in the
structural tissue within the human body (Brown, Miller Eason, 2006). Supplementary protein offers
three main common types of complete protein; whey, casein and egg. These complete proteins differ
in the role of recovery post exercise (Campbell Spano, 2011). The macronutrients protein and
carbohydrates have their own functions within the body but work together to generate an anabolic
state within the body when ingested post exercise (Poole, Wilborn, Taylor Kerksick, 2010).
Protein and Carbohydrates
The main function of protein is a regulator, including the actions of some hormones,

A Public Health Assessment ( Pre Pha )
SUMMARY
INTRODUCTION
In this Preliminary Public Health Assessment (Pre PHA), we evaluated exposure of the Milneburge
neighborhood community to contaminants in response to their public health complaint with the City of
New Orleans. . The homeowners in the neighborhood started to complain of nausea, headache, and
dyspnea when they work in their back yards and reported water runoff and soil erosion from the waste
management site. So, they were really concerned about their children health because they used to play
in the area. As a result of that, we evaluated some polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. Polycyclic
aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are chemical compounds found in nature or released from burning of
coal, oil, tobacco, and wood. Some of these compounds are toxic to lung, liver, and skin. By such Pre
PHA, We can know if the site is extremely contaminated or not and we can assure residents and give
them answers about their concerns.
SITE TIMELINE Our site is a land in the northwestern region of the French Quarter. In the early 20th
century, the New Orleans Land Co. owned the land when it was grown up to a modern neighborhood
with subdivisions and street network after spending a lot of money. In 1917, the Rosemount cemetery
was constructed upon it. Millard University bought the whole land in 1940 and by 1961, the
University sold the trapezoidal open land to an industrial waste company. They established
incinerators and worked for almost 8 years. In 1980, the City of

The Objectives Of The Zimbabwe Agenda For Sustainable...
Discuss the importance or role played by Enterprise Risk Management in achieving the current goals
or objectives of ZimAsset [30]
Enterprise risk management (ERM) has been defined by the COSO (2004) as a process, effected by an
entity s board of directors, management and other personnel, applied in strategy setting and across the
enterprise, designed to identify potential events that may affect the entity, and manage risk to be
within its risk appetite, to provide reasonable assurance regarding the achievement of entity
objectives. It further stated that enterprise risk management framework is geared to achieving an entity
s objectives which are categorized into four and they include strategic, operations, reporting and
compliance objectives. ERMis of importance in achieving the objectives of the Zimbabwe Agenda for
Sustainable Socio Economic Transformation(ZimAsset) and they include Food Security and Nutrition,
Social Services and Poverty Eradication, Infrastructure and Utilities, and Value Addition and
Beneficiation. The government can apply the ERM to achieve the objectives of the economic
blueprint.
Firstly, ERM is crucial in the achievement of the ZimAsset objectives as it enhances risk response
decisions through the provision of asperity to identify and select amongst alternative risk responses,
and risk avoidance, reduction, sharing, and acceptance. Enhancing is concerned with increasing the
chances of the occurrence of positive risks.

Common Characteristics And Similarities Between Dari And...
Abstract
Dari is the language that my paper will discuss in detail. This language is spoken in Afghanistan by 5
million people. In this paper I will discuss some characteristics of the frequency adverbs. I will show
examples to prove how these adverbs move in the sentences freely and where they occur. What was
interesting also is that I found similarities between Dari and English. Frequency adverbs in Dari have
common characteristics with English. Both languagesallow adverbs to move in different position.
1. Introduction
Dari is a spoken language in Afghanistan. It is a SOV language. For this paper I choose to
discuss(frequency adverbs). An adverb is a word that modifiesthe manners of verbs. There are many
kinds of adverbs such as manner, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Aksar
2. Aksarwagt: in this case, people addsuffixwagt which means (time) to refer to a specific time.
It is not important to add or delete the suffix wagt. If it is added it will not change themeaning in a
speech it only tells what is the time in a very specific way. If it is deleted people will know that you
are talking about time but not in certainty.
4. Conclusion :
In Dari, adverbs like (Frequently, always, sometimes and usually) occurs in 3 positions: before verb,
after verb and at the begging of a sentence.
Adverb like usually has 2 ways in written form: aksar before verb and aksarwagt if the position is
changed.
Adjectives can be described as adverbs by adding the prefix ba, and they will always occur before
verbs.
To conclude this paper, Dari is an interesting and simple language. Frequency adverbs are interesting
because they describe the time of any event. Their Frequency adverbs are flexible and they move
easily in the sentences. They occur in the beginning of the sentence, before or after a verb. They do
not make any changes to the meaning.

How does William Wordsworth s poetry fit into the literary tradition of Romanticism?
Q. How does William Wordsworth s poetry fit into the literary tradition of Romanticism?
A. Romantic poetry was an artistic movement of the late 18th and early
19th century. It dealt with nature, human imagination, childhood and the ability to recall emotional
memories of both happiness and sadness. Before Wordsworth began writing his revolutionary new
style of poetry, all preceding poetry had a very different style.
The reason these poems were classed as revolutionary was because he believed that romantic poetry
should describe incidents of common life and ordinary people and were written in deliberately plain
words. It was what ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

and a single small cottage the only dwelling on earth that she loves She looks, her heart to heaven
This shows how happy she is at seeing her cottage, in the countryside that she loves.
However, this soon fades. The images go away and she is sad once again as she goes back to her
unhappy life in the city where she feels trapped. This fits into Romanticism by including most of the
main features. It deals with human feelings and how Susan is sad. It includes memories and the use of
imagination. It also shows probably the most important feature, which is a love of nature. We see that
Susan feels truly happy surrounded by hills and pastures.
We also see this in Wordsworth s most famous and well known poem
Daffodils . Wordsworth thought of his poetry as originating in
emotion recollected in tranquillity . His memories were memories of strong feelings of happiness
brought about by something or some landscape connected to the nature.
In Daffodils , we again see all the features that make this poem fit into the tradition of Romanticism
and Romantic Poetry.
Wordsworth describes nature and says how beautiful it is and the beauty he sees when he looks at the
daffodils.
when all at once I saw a crowd, a host of golden daffodils .
He also uses his imagination to see the daffodils almost as human beings. He describes their
movements as, and compares

The Economic Climate Of The Automotive Industry
Given the current economic climate, I think the automotive industry is going to be faced with a
multitude of economic challenges in the next five years. As an oligopoly market, the auto industry is
highly dependent on strategic decision making, and the demand for dynamic innovation and supply at
decreased cost levels. Competition, possibilities of turning substitutes into compliments, and shifts
toward higher demand in services are seemingly leading factors that face the current automotive
industry in the immediate future. But first, we should not ignore the political forces at play within the
market.
With the upcoming Presidential election, there is a very real possibility of big political challenges; as
well as, major changes to international trade policies facing the American Automotive Companies.
Political changes, locally and abroad, are having an effect on the automotive industry. Britain recently
voted to exit the European Union; this event, which is being called Brexit, is having a ripple effect
across the world. The full result of Brexit won t be known for two years or more, but with the
automotive industry having such a large presence in the U.K, an anticipated change is in full effect. In
general, for the next two years, global automakers will need to pay attention to the market; be
prepared for unanticipated changes; and ready for the possible need of contingency plans. This is
especially crucial as negotiations take place between Britain and the EU. Ian

Looking For Work By Gary Soto Summary
An Analysis of a Young Boy s Subconscious
Although it may not seem like it, we all have witnessed this experience: think one thing, and do
another. For some reason or another we have a subconscious separation between our desires and
needs. While we think we might want something, our subconscious is in the background dictating our
actions behind those desires. Such is the human mind so silently conceited. This is especially true of
young children, for example, more often than not asking a child why they preformed an action you ll
most likely get the age old, I don t know . While it is not always a function that ends with a positive
conclusion, it most certainly does in Gary Soto s Looking For Work. Mr. Soto s narrative starts with

She gave him 20 cents to fetch a Coke from the liquor store, and when he returned she gave him a
nickel. Soto then proceeds to do another job for which he is rewarded with a whole quarter and two
peaches that he proceeds to eat rather sloppily in the alley behind his house. As he finished the last
one, his friend Little John comes by. It was a blistering hot day so Little John suggested that they head
to Roosevelt High School so that they could take a swim to cool off. The problem was that Little John
was short five cents, but Soto quickly lent him his nickel. They began to board the bike, when Soto s
little sister came around a corner crying because she couldn t go. Now Soto, being the wonderful
brother that he is, waved her to climb on to the bike. All three of them proceeded to spend the rest of
the day swimming under the hot afternoon sun until their skin darkened. The previous is an example
of how you may begin with one idea in mind, and end with a totally different one, seemingly without
even being aware of your original intentions. Soto wanted the money to appear rich in the eyes of
those around him, namely the white neighbors that never seemed to like him. His subconscious
reacted and registered this action as one that could negatively effect him, and overrides his intended
outcome. All the money he wanted for showing off, was spent on a fun day with a friend and his

Public transportation is a system of transportation that the government offer for people who cannot use

Jean Piaget s Developments Of Human Cognitive Development
Jean Piaget was the first Swiss psychologist to study the systematic human cognitive development. He
was fascinated about how the way children think and how children gain their knowledge as they grow
up. His studies help him to understand that children s cognitive development changes as they mature
and with the experiences they learn in the environment. Cognitive development is the development of
memory, thinking, and problem solving (Ciccarelli, 2012). With his studies, he proposed that cognitive
development occurs in 4 age related stages: sensorimotor, pre operational, concrete operations, and
formal operations (Leifer, 2015). The pre operational stage is the early childhood development ages
between 2 to 7 years old. Children in this stage are very focused on learning their symbolic thought,
especially concepts and language. They assume the very stereotypical act of a child, believing in
fantastical characters like the Easter bunny and his ilk and believing that the act of locomotion means
that something has life. They can imagine to a basic extent and are capable of using items as symbols
for other items. Piaget claimed that children in this stage experience egocentrism, which refers to
inability to see the world through anyone else s eyes (Ciccarelli, 2012). Children are self centered and
they think that world entirely from their own personal perspective. They also focus mostly on
appearances when concerning logic and they basically understand only the things

All-Kinds-Of-Fur
Fashion, Incest, and Fur, in All Kinds of Fur and Donkeyskin Donkeyskin, by Charles Perrault, and
All Kinds of Fur by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, are both stories about a princess who runs away from
her kingdom because of the king s desire to marry her, despite the fact that the marriage would be
incestuous. In Donkeyskin, the king is overtly powerful and wealthy, and much of his wealth is
obtained by his Master Donkey, who excretes gold. In both tales it is necessary for the princess to find
some means of discouraging her father s sinful proposal, of which she asks for three magnificent and
impossible dresses to be made and for the skin of an animal or multiple animals. The princess requests

The princesses having, or not having, outside assistance in their journeys makes their character act and
think differently. The princess in Donkeyskin, though being the optimal choice of a bride for the king
for being wise and accomplished, is not as overtly clever and wise as the princess in All Kinds of Fur.
The princess, referred to as All Kinds of Fur, is solely responsible for her choices and actions, coming
only from her own savvy brain. Horrified by her father s incestuous demands, All Fur seeks her own
counsel. (Marshall 409). Firstly she contrives the seemingly impossible tasks that she sets upon her
father, including having him obtain one dress golden as the sun, one as silvery as the moon, and one as
bright as the stars (Grimm, All Kinds of Fur ) and a mantle of a thousand different kinds of fur and
hair (Grimm, All Kinds of Fur ). Secondly, All Kinds of Fur makes, and acts upon, the decision to run
away, disguised by her mantle of furs, before having to marry her father. Thirdly, All Kinds of Fur
cooks up the idea to place three of her golden trinkets, a ring, a spinning wheel, and a reel, into the
three cakes she is told to make for the king, and by this action she catches the attention of the king.
The princess, referred to as Donkeyskin, however, is clearly the definition of a damsel in distress. Not

Platinum Box Case Study Essay
Executive Summary The new business venture to produce quality boxes for the U.S market has
created a requirement for Platinum Box to source five new presses. The three bids to supply these
presses were from Merakuri, Jabaking and Pnutype. Each bid had its attributes over the other. Finding
a way to fairly evaluate each bid was needed. A Weighted Evaluation System was chosen. Four factors
were used to evaluate the bids. They are: Performance Quality, Service, Price (total cost of purchase
determines the pricing factor) and Financing. By applying a value to each, a better evaluation of the
bids can be made. Performance Quality was perceived to be of utmost importance to the point where

The selection process is further complicated by Platinum Box plan to expand to 500,000 boxes per

Human Rights Act Of 1998
Rights that protect human beings and the extent of legality of what they are entitled to as people are a
core part of each constitution globally. The extent of human rights protection varies from country to
country, with total democracies having most human rights that encompass freedom of speech and
expression among other freedoms. These are the most sovereign of laws as they express how liberal
and powerful the majority can be as opposed to the minority being powerful in some countries or
kingdoms. In some countries, the part of the constitution (just answer legal) is referred to as the Bill of

Who Is Andrew Jackson Justified In The Indian Removal Act
The Indian Removal Act signed by the president of the United States, Andrew Jackson, caused
controversy and the brutal and merciless suffering of the Native Americans during The Trail of Tears.
The beginning of the 1830 s was a time when the Native Americans occupied The Deep South. This,
however, was problematic for the white farmers who were in need of farmland in order to increase
their production of cotton. Nevertheless, Andrew Jackson, the seventh president of the United States,
coerced the Native Americans to relocate their civilizations to lands west of the Mississippi. A close
examination at the tribes that were compelled to move west would show that they were civilized.
Thus, Andrew Jackson was not justified in his policy towards ... Show more content on

Nonetheless, Jackson did not follow up with this promise. Instead, he had decided to deprive the
Natives of their promised and secured land. Hence, Jackson was not justified in his Indian Removal
Act because the Natives had a clear right to their land that was established with the forefathers of the
nation. To add on, the Natives were civilized; however, Jackson had interpreted them as uncivilized
which is stated in Document A, also known as Andrew Jackson First Annual Message, dated
December 8, 1829. In Jackson s message, he states, By this means they have not only been kept in a
wandering state, but been led to look upon us as unjust and indifferent to their fate. This quote
conveys the idea that the Natives were wanderers and did not have an established community or place
to live. Nonetheless, the Natives were farmers which opposes Jackson s statement, thus proving that it
is false. In addition, Jackson states, It has long been the policy of Government to introduce among
them the arts of civilization, in hope of gradually reclaiming them from a wandering life. This policy
has, however, been coupled with another wholly [completely] incompatible with its success. In this
quote Jackson states how the government tried to civilize the tribes, but it ended in a failure to do so.

Compare The Reaction Between Mentos And Diet Coke
Have you ever watched the reaction between Mentos and Diet Coke? Most people think it s a
chemical reaction, but they re wrong. It s actually a physical reaction, meaning that all the substances
to the reaction are still there, just rearranged. (Spurting Science) This physical reaction is caused by
nucleation. Carbon dioxide is in the Diet Coke, trying to escape. It s looking for any nucleation sites it
can attach to, like any bumps or crevices in the Mentos. When the Mentos are dropped into the Diet
Coke, it disrupts the polar attractions between the water molecules. The carbon dioxide will begin to
attach to the nucleation sites and form bubbles. The bubbles will quickly release from the Mentos and
rise to the top. Carbon dioxide will continue to attach to the nucleation sites and the process will
continuously repeat. Mentos are the best substance to use, because they are sprayed with 40
microscopic layers of sugar, which creates an abundance of nucleation sites. (Today I Found Out)

In one experiment, they found that Diet Coke at room temperature (70°F) and 5 Mentos created a
geyser that was roughly 9 ½ feet tall, while Diet Coke that was 110°F caused about a 16 feet tall
geyser. The second best method I found was attaching a nozzle to the mouth of the bottle. When this
was tested, it was found to go roughly 30 feet. An alternative for Mentos is rock salt. When tested, the
rock salts geyser went just about the same height as the Mentos geyser. One might think that using
more than 12 Mentos will make the geyser taller, but it actually doesn t increase or decrease the height
of the geyser. That s because after that, only around 11 12 of them actually stay in the bottle. The rest
of them shoot out. (Wayne

Tax Reform In Australia
Introduction
In the article Tax reform =Growth, the author Rory Meakin (2012) suggests that Australia has a good
tax system but it still has its problems. He compares the tax system between Britain and Australia as
well, and discusses the importance for the government to change its approach of raising taxes to make
it cheaper, fairer and more legitimate in Australia. The article outlines the complexities of the taxation
system in the country, which resulted to the lost of its legitimacy since many people do not understand
how much they should pay. It advises the need for the government to make the tax system to be as
neutral as possible by eliminating complications that will add confusion to its approach. The journal
name tax reform equals to growth and he totally agrees that raising the tax and keeping the tax neutral
is the better way to face the tax problems nowadays.

The author firstly points out the problems of tax system. Too complicated, too many special
allowances and specific taxes, and too much money drained out of the pockets of working Australians.
The author cites many examples, such as national insurance, tax accountancy guides called ToUey s,
the Byzantine complexity, the final report, The Single Income Tax, to state the necessity to propose a
very radical yet necessary change to how the government raises taxes, aimed at making the system
cheaper, fairer and more legitimate. The cost of complexity is high and, in addition, complexity has
led to the tax system having lost legitimacy as many people do not even really understand how much
tax they should pay, let alone how much others should pay. That opacity, a direct consequence of
complexity, inevitably leads many to suspect others of not paying their fair share. Data is listed to
support the view that the complicity of tax system has damaged the legitimacy of the

Water Hardness Of Salt Concentration Essay
Introduction The key to life is water. The only known planet to have stable bodies of water to support
life is Earth.1 All water however, is not pure H2O. Water often times has other compounds and
chemicals mixed with it including salts. Over time plants and animals have adapted to how much salt
it can consume and survive.1 These lifeforms that adapted to low salt concentrations live in freshwater
habitats. Freshwater typically has a salt concentration of less than 1%.2 Although sometimes low, the
salts that are most commonly found in water are formed with the cations Ca2+ and Mg2+.3 Water
hardness is a measure of the concentration of calcium and/or magnesium ions in water.3 Water
becomes hard as it drains through limestone, dolomite and other minerals. A high concentration of
these ions results in a hard water sample, while a low concentration is soft.4 Water hardness is
important in that it can cause many problems. The equation below shows how calcium can create
problems.
Calcium bicarbonate → Calcium carbonate + Water + Carbon dioxide
Ca(HCO3)2 → CaCO3 + H2O + CO2 3
Calcium carbonate, also known as scale,is sometimes referred to as one of the banes of industry 4. The
formation of scale blocks pipes and tubes4 and is the culprit behind the hated bathtub rings.3 To fix
these problems, it is important to understand water hardness. Water hardness can be determined in
many ways. EDTA titrations and atomic absorbance spectroscopy (AA) are the most

When I was age four, my mom and I read the Encyclopedia of Animals together. Turning through one

adelie penguin I always remembered mostly because it s name was brought down to a few coherent
syllables as I was too young to say adelie correctly. The book eventually became my favorite thing to

The Sacred in Things Fall Apart and No Longer at Ease
Chinua Achebe s works reveal the sustaining relevance of the sacred to his audience and invite his
readers to consider the metamorphosis of sacred tropes from traditional to colonial times. The mask in
Achebe s novels Things Fall Apart and No Longer At Ease is one of a number of tropes which
represent the shifting of the locus of the sacred from community to individual. This trope, and others
like it, reflects upon the way in which European influence has directed the social significance of
spirituality through the process of colonization. Through the examination of these tropes, one should
develop a critical awareness of the relationship between the sacred and the profane in the Modern
context of No Longer At Ease, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The sacred is saturated with being. Sacred power means reality and at the same time enduringness and
efficacity. The polarity sacred profane is often expressed as an opposition between real and unreal or
pseudoreal...thus it is easy to understand that religious man deeply desires to be, to participate in
reality, to be saturated with power (12 13).
Considering Eliade s assertion that the sacred is a vehicle for power in pre modern societies, much
irony is present in the fact that Modern European man, while distancing himself from the primitive
definitions of a traditional, all encompassing spirituality, is deeply waged in the battle for the power
that can be extracted from the sole possession and revised definition of the sacred. In the novel No
Longer At Ease, one begins to see the serious implications of displaced ownership and ambiguous
definition of sacred objects and rites.
Masking as Achebe portrayed in Things Fall Apart supported traditional perceptions of the
relationship between society and the sacred; therefore, the implementation of masking as obscured by
colonialism presented a unique opportunity for Europeans to reconfigure established perceptions of
reality. In traditional Igbo society, it was the role of the artist to affirm a sense of the sacred within the
community. Specifically,

In 1959 Fidel Castro attempted to overthrow dictator Fulgencio Batista; Castro led a revolutionary

Small Business Technology By Bill Simms

It was an ordinary Thursday evening in suburban Richmond, Virginia. 7PM. Bill Simms makes a right

Although Bill s background was in corporate marketing, he experienced a major learning curve when

while he was in the field servicing clients, but after only a short period of time, both were

How The French View The Natives In Black Robe
Black Robe is a film that greatly exemplifies the views the Natives and the French held of one another
during the 1600s. Both groups help impressions of each other that influenced how they interacted
together. During the Native and French encounters in Black Robe, it was apparent that Natives viewed
the French as incompetent, weak, but also interesting; the French had their own impressions that the
Natives were savages and in need of salvation. It is with the Algonquins that one can see the interest
they held in their view of the French. In Black Robe, there is a scene with the Natives sitting in a

From beginning to end, any mention of the Natives by the French was usually linked to the word
savages. This was shown in several scenes in the film. Towards the beginning, before Father Laforgue
and Daniel leave on the Hurons mission, two men are talking to one another about how they would not
go on such a mission with savages. Another example of this reference is near the end of the film when
Father Laforgue finds Father Jerome in the Huron village and even Father Jerome refers to the ailing
Natives as savages when speaking about them. Father Laforgue s mission in the film clearly represents
the French s view that Natives were in need of salvation. Father Laforgue s main goal throughout the
film was to convert or save the Natives (the Algonquins and Hurons) and have them believe in
Christianity. A great example of this is during the scene of Chomina s death. Even as he is dying,
Father Laforgue begs him to allow himself to be baptized and saved in order to attain Christian
paradise. Chomina s response to this no, because he says his family will not be there. Father Laforgue
does eventually achieve his mission to convert the Natives to Christianity in the Huron village at the
end of the film, but he does so with a different mindset after all he had been through with Daniel and

West Side Story is about a conflict between two rival gangs, the Jets and the Sharks, which comes to a

Although the play centers around Tony and Maria, the character of Anita (played by Karli Dinardo)
caught my eye since she revealed her purple dress which was different from the reds of the Sharks and
blues of the Jets and I found myself drawn to her in each scene she was present in. I also found myself
drawn to members of the Sharks as I understood the racism they faced from members of the Jets,

I found that many of the actors in West Side Story vocals fit well with their characters such as Carly
Evans soprano like voice that seemed so innocent to the world just like Maria. The orchestra ability to
match the emotions of the song or scene was very beneficial in letting the audience know of Tony and
Maria s undying love for each other in Tonight through the use of light and upbeat notes or Anita s
anger in A Boy Like That which uses harsher notes. The effects of the characters emotions would not
have been as evident if the instrumentals they sang along too didn t match the emotions they felt.
Although the play is surrounded by dark themes, there are musical numbers with a tinge of comedic
value such as in America where Rosalia praises Puerto Rico through phrases such as Puerto Rico, you
lovely island and Anita retorts back Puerto Rico, you ugly island or Gee Officer Krupke where the Jets
are joking as to what to say to Officer Krupke ending the song with Gee, Officer Krupke. Krup you! .
In many of the musical numbers, there seems to be a kid friendly approach as profanity is nowhere to
be found with the replacement of words such as Buggin in the Jet Songs although slurs such as spic

Theme Analysis for Red Road and Rear Window Essay
Essay Analysing the themes, which wore used in the film Red Road (2006), and also the surveillance,
Misery and love and also explaining the directors (Andrea Arnold) decisions techniques.
In this essay I am going to be analysing the themes, which have been used in the film Red road (2006)
and compare it to rear window (1954). I will also be looking at the CCTV surveillance. I will also be
looking at misery and love and how does this change the characters objective along the film. I will
also be looking and explain the directors decision and techniques which she has used in this film.
Andrea Arnold decision techniques with close ups and choice of vision in story telling via Jackie and
the CCTV surveillance works well as it does ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This however turns out they just wanted to have sex with each other which Jackie soon finds out while
she watches. Red road does engage the audience into watching what the actual character is watching
with CCTV, which makes us, feel apart of the story and makes us want to keep on watching. CCTV
surveillance does create tension as the audience do not know what will be happening as the CCTV
footage is basically showing live events.
In the opening of the film we as an audience are introduced to a female CCTV operator who happens
to be Jackie. With this opening it kind of lets us know that this film is related to CCTV and that this
female CCTV operator Jackie has a key part in the film. On the other hand although red road and
CCTV surveillance is structured through the story I don t think it is necessarily about CCTV, It s more
about Clyde and Jackie and unravelling past into her finding out what really happened and why he did
what he did when he accidently killed her husband and daughter.
Voyeurism
Voyeurism is also used in this film. By voyeurism I mean the spying between Jackie and Clyde where
she is pursing his every step and wanting to find out more information about him and the need to want
to get very close to him.
Voyeurism is a key element in how the story is told in red road. The reason for this being is due to the
fact that we as an audience are introduced to a

Military Strategies During D-Day
Introduction
World War II was the world s deadliest conflict which lasted from 1939 to 1945. France and the
majority of Western Europe were occupied by Nazi Germany in April 1940. While Britain and the
Soviet Union fought against Germany and Italy, the United States of America did not join the war
until the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour on December 7, 1941. After the attack on Pearl Harbour,
Germany declared war on the United States of America, hence dragging the United States of America
into World War II on the European continent. The Allied nations of the West started to plan an
invasion on German territory. This plan took several years to materialize because it involved modern
warfare technologies such as the organization of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Reconnaissance missions, studying and observing weather patterns and the ways the Allies kept the
invasion a secret were also military strategies the Allies used to turn the tides of war. With
reconnaissance planes, the Allies were able to scout the enemy s defensive positions. With the study of
weather patterns in Normandy, the Allies were able to decide which day would have the least amount
of wind, waves and clouds so transport ships would not sink and bombers would have a clearer view
of their targets. How the Allies kept their plan a secret was also a strategy to not let the Germans know
their true agenda. The research question, what were the Allies military strategies used in preparation of
the Normandy landings? The analyses of the different strategies being used in preparation and during
D Day will be shown in this essay.
Operation Neptune was the first stage in the liberation of Western Europe and a major step in
defeating Nazi Germany, it was one of the biggest turning points in World War II. The Allies were able
to launch a successful invasion on the beaches of Normandy. With the liberation of the territory, the
Allies were then able to pour in troops to Europe through France, liberate the rest of the occupied
countries, and finally march onward to Berlin. The beaches of Normandy were a crucial part in the
invasion, because it served as an opening point to move further into the heart of Europe.

But, has the same perfect wants like Margaret and Chris. First of all, Evan goes around label[ing]
people (42) in fact, he does that because he secretly wished he could be (43) them. But, we all know
we can t want someone to make us perfect. One day, Callie came back from the hospital and Evan
knew she might die. But, he wants her perfectly healthy and Evan was afraid of his sister dying, and
he needed the truth (35). Secondly, Evan wants a perfect family because he thought that it is falling
apart like a broken mirror. But, when he looks at his own family, he thought that he is never going to
get married (11). Anyways beside that, Evan s mom even wanted her life to be perfect as a perfect
sand dollar (112). For example, Evan s mom gave him a broken snail shell. Evan indeed thought that it
s not perfect (113). But not everything is to be perfect, Evan s mom thinks that it is still beautiful
(113). The common human error happens in Evan s life because Evan starts out thinking that there is
such a thing as perfection and that there s something wrong within everyone if people settle for

Why Is Austerity A Dangerous Idea
I decided to read the book, Austerity: The History of a Dangerous Idea by Mark Blyth, which is about
the turn to austerity in economic policy. The author argues that austerity is a dangerous idea for three
main reasons: Austerity cannot work in practice. It imposes a disproportionate burden on poorer
households. And, it ignores the fallacy of composition that says that all countries cannot be austere
simultaneously. This book is among the best descriptions of our path to crisis and it is highly
recommended to anyone who wants to understand the current economic situation in Ireland. The
author explains that the main reason he wrote this book is that he was fed up of people who were very
wealthy telling people who were not so wealthy that they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He was an orphan child and was raised by his grandmother. He is now a political scientist and a
professor of International Political Economy at Brown University. So Blyth went from rags to riches,
as the saying goes. He is best known for the book her wrote in 2012: Austerity: The History of a
Dangerous Idea as he portrays a great set of sources and consequences of the current economic affairs,
and extremely detailed account of how we managed to arrive in this current situation. He also wrote
the book Great Transformations . He is a Watson Institute Faculty member and director at the
University of Undergraduate Programs in development studies and international relations. He is editor
of Routledge Handbook of International political economy and a co editor of the volume of
Constructivist Theory and Political Economy titled Constructing the International Economy . He is
currently working on a new book that questions the political and economics sustainability of liberal
democracy called The End of the Liberal World . Blyth is a member of the Warwick Commission on
International Financial Reform and also a member of the Editorial Board of the Review of
International Political Economy. His articles have appeared in journals such as The American Political
Science Review , Perspectives and Politics , Comparative Politics and World Politics . Mark Blyth has

  • 2. Education For All Handicapped Children Act These laws listed below were unfortunately put in place to fight the ignorance and blatant discrimination disabled people were faced with. While these laws are a blessing to many, the fact that they had to be put in place reflect terribly, but truthfully on how many people see people with disabilities. My only hope is that one day these laws will be unnecessary, because people will start to treat those with disabilities according to their needs. IDEA; Individuals with Disabilities Education Act 1990 1. IDEA or Individuals with Disabilities Education, formerly known as the Education for All Handicapped Children Act (EHA) lasted from 1970 to 1990. Then in 1990, the United States Congress changed the title to IDEA. 2. This act was solely focused on affording children with disabilities the same opportunity of education as children without disabilities. The act states that schools must serve the educational needs of eligible students with disabilities; they also must evaluate students suspected of having disabilities. This is beneficial to children who parents suspect need testing, but cannot afford testing or help. IDEA is composed with four parts. Part A is the general provisions of the law. Part B covers aid of education for all children with disabilities. Part C is for infants and toddlers with disabilities, this includes children from birth to age three. Finally Part D is the national support programs. Parts A, B, C, and D are all essential to the utmost fulfillment ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Nelson Museum The Nelson Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, Missouri, is known for its wide variety of architectural artworks, and its collection of Asian art. It also has many works of Medieval and Ancient art, while also showing some present art pieces. My experience through the museum went very well. Throughout the whole museum, there wasn t any place to look that was boring, or didn t involve art, which was very cool. I liked how the pieces were labeled with a helpful description, and were categorized in similar sections. All the art pieces having the interesting descriptions, helped me understand the visual, value, and history behind all of the pieces, which I found very helpful relating them to class. Outside in the front lawn of the Nelson museum, I found the big, architectural structures, the Shuttlecocks, were very eye appealing, and caught my attention immediately. They were four shuttlecocks, built in 1994 of aluminum, and fiberglass reinforced plastic, that are painted white and orange. The sculptures looked to me as some sort of structural pop art, to possibly represent the fun outdoors in people s daily lives. The lines of the structure stuck out to me, the lines of the end of the shuttlecock appeared busy but perfectly aligned, which led my eyes to the rounded, red, end of the structure. • 4. The Gutenberg Bible Essay Created by Johannes Gutenberg, The Gutenberg Bible was the first mass produced book through the use of a moveable printer. Known for its artistic Latin writing, the Bible only has forty nine copies remaining, one residing at the Harry Ransom Center at The University of Texas at Austin. The Gutenberg Bible exhibits religious qualities from the message, directly from God, and the original purpose of the creation of the Bible. A vital component of The Gutenberg Bible is the origin of the divine message in the religious text. The basis of religion is when someone believes or follows something or someone devotedly. Therefore in Christianity, anyone who receives and lives by the word of God will be granted eternal life in heaven. In The Meditation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Gutenberg Bible s purpose was to spread the message of God that can view through the mass production of the Bible for the first time in history. Due to the moveable printer, the Bible were more accessible to a larger audience. According to Mark 16:15, And He said to them, Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature, the spreading of God s Gospel is a message told by God for his followers to perform. Therefore, Johannes Gutenberg s actions in producing the Bible was a sacred act through the following of God s message. By following God s message, the object that is used, The Gutenberg Bible, is then a religious item used for the religious act. Because of the newly invented Bible, the common man had an opportunity to have a material presence of God that wasn t available to them beforehand. For the common man, The Gutenberg Bible represented the divine, as the book was the words of God and to the common man, God himself. • 5. The Role Of Protein And Carbohydrate Utilisation During... Introduction Post exercise nutrition, especially protein, plays an important role of the training regimen amongst athletic population. Post exercise nutrition is used to improve performance and enhance the body s recovery process following exercise. This review will focus on the role of protein and carbohydrate utilisation post exercise and there effects on protein synthesis. Anabolic and catabolic processes are controlled by the neuroendocrine system in response to training. Resistance training produces a catabolic state, in which the muscle proteins are broken down. During recovery an anabolic state predominately takes over leading to muscle repair and growth (Plowman Smith, 2014). The macronutrient protein has grasped attention during the recovery phase of exercise. Protein plays multiple important roles throughout the entire body, regulating every chemical reaction and used in the structural tissue within the human body (Brown, Miller Eason, 2006). Supplementary protein offers three main common types of complete protein; whey, casein and egg. These complete proteins differ in the role of recovery post exercise (Campbell Spano, 2011). The macronutrients protein and carbohydrates have their own functions within the body but work together to generate an anabolic state within the body when ingested post exercise (Poole, Wilborn, Taylor Kerksick, 2010). Protein and Carbohydrates The main function of protein is a regulator, including the actions of some hormones, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. A Public Health Assessment ( Pre Pha ) SUMMARY INTRODUCTION In this Preliminary Public Health Assessment (Pre PHA), we evaluated exposure of the Milneburge neighborhood community to contaminants in response to their public health complaint with the City of New Orleans. . The homeowners in the neighborhood started to complain of nausea, headache, and dyspnea when they work in their back yards and reported water runoff and soil erosion from the waste management site. So, they were really concerned about their children health because they used to play in the area. As a result of that, we evaluated some polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are chemical compounds found in nature or released from burning of coal, oil, tobacco, and wood. Some of these compounds are toxic to lung, liver, and skin. By such Pre PHA, We can know if the site is extremely contaminated or not and we can assure residents and give them answers about their concerns. SITE TIMELINE Our site is a land in the northwestern region of the French Quarter. In the early 20th century, the New Orleans Land Co. owned the land when it was grown up to a modern neighborhood with subdivisions and street network after spending a lot of money. How does William Wordsworth s poetry fit into the literary tradition of Romanticism? A. Romantic poetry was an artistic movement of the late 18th and early 19th century. It dealt with nature, human imagination, childhood and the ability to recall emotional memories of both happiness and sadness. Before Wordsworth began writing his revolutionary new style of poetry, all preceding poetry had a very different style. The reason these poems were classed as revolutionary was because he believed that romantic poetry should describe incidents of common life and ordinary people and were written in deliberately plain words. This fits into Romanticism by including most of the main features. It deals with human feelings and how Susan is sad. It includes memories and the use of imagination. It also shows probably the most important feature, which is a love of nature. We see that Susan feels truly happy surrounded by hills and pastures. We also see this in Wordsworth s most famous and well known poem Daffodils . Wordsworth thought of his poetry as originating in emotion recollected in tranquillity . His memories were memories of strong feelings of happiness brought about by something or some landscape connected to the nature. In Daffodils , we again see all the features that make this poem fit into the tradition of Romanticism and Romantic Poetry. Wordsworth describes nature and says how beautiful it is and the beauty he sees when he looks at the daffodils. when all at once I saw a crowd, a host of golden daffodils . • 12. The Economic Climate Of The Automotive Industry Given the current economic climate, I think the automotive industry is going to be faced with a multitude of economic challenges in the next five years. As an oligopoly market, the auto industry is highly dependent on strategic decision making, and the demand for dynamic innovation and supply at decreased cost levels. Competition, possibilities of turning substitutes into compliments, and shifts toward higher demand in services are seemingly leading factors that face the current automotive industry in the immediate future. But first, we should not ignore the political forces at play within the market. With the upcoming Presidential election, there is a very real possibility of big political challenges; as well as, major changes to international trade policies facing the American Automotive Companies. Political changes, locally and abroad, are having an effect on the automotive industry. Britain recently voted to exit the European Union; this event, which is being called Brexit, is having a ripple effect across the world. The full result of Brexit won t be known for two years or more, but with the automotive industry having such a large presence in the U.K, an anticipated change is in full effect. In general, for the next two years, global automakers will need to pay attention to the market; be prepared for unanticipated changes; and ready for the possible need of contingency plans. This is especially crucial as negotiations take place between Britain and the EU. Ian ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As he finished the last one, his friend Little John comes by. It was a blistering hot day so Little John suggested that they head to Roosevelt High School so that they could take a swim to cool off. The problem was that Little John was short five cents, but Soto quickly lent him his nickel. • 17. Jean Piaget s Developments Of Human Cognitive Development Jean Piaget was the first Swiss psychologist to study the systematic human cognitive development. He was fascinated about how the way children think and how children gain their knowledge as they grow up. His studies help him to understand that children s cognitive development changes as they mature and with the experiences they learn in the environment. Cognitive development is the development of memory, thinking, and problem solving (Ciccarelli, 2012). With his studies, he proposed that cognitive development occurs in 4 age related stages: sensorimotor, pre operational, concrete operations, and formal operations (Leifer, 2015). The pre operational stage is the early childhood development ages between 2 to 7 years old. Children in this stage are very focused on learning their symbolic thought, especially concepts and language. They assume the very stereotypical act of a child, believing in fantastical characters like the Easter bunny and his ilk and believing that the act of locomotion means that something has life. They can imagine to a basic extent and are capable of using items as symbols for other items. Piaget claimed that children in this stage experience egocentrism, which refers to inability to see the world through anyone else s eyes (Ciccarelli, 2012). Children are self centered and they think that world entirely from their own personal perspective. They also focus mostly on appearances when concerning logic and they basically understand only the things ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The princess, referred to as All Kinds of Fur, is solely responsible for her choices and actions, coming only from her own savvy brain. Who Is Andrew Jackson Justified In The Indian Removal Act The Indian Removal Act signed by the president of the United States, Andrew Jackson, caused controversy and the brutal and merciless suffering of the Native Americans during The Trail of Tears. The beginning of the 1830 s was a time when the Native Americans occupied The Deep South. This, however, was problematic for the white farmers who were in need of farmland in order to increase their production of cotton. Nevertheless, Andrew Jackson, the seventh president of the United States, coerced the Native Americans to relocate their civilizations to lands west of the Mississippi. Hence, Jackson was not justified in his Indian Removal Act because the Natives had a clear right to their land that was established with the forefathers of the nation. To add on, the Natives were civilized; however, Jackson had interpreted them as uncivilized which is stated in Document A, also known as Andrew Jackson First Annual Message, dated December 8, 1829. In Jackson s message, he states, By this means they have not only been kept in a wandering state, but been led to look upon us as unjust and indifferent to their fate. This quote conveys the idea that the Natives were wanderers and did not have an established community or place to live. Nonetheless, the Natives were farmers which opposes Jackson s statement, thus proving that it is false. In addition, Jackson states, It has long been the policy of Government to introduce among them the arts of civilization, in hope of gradually reclaiming them from a wandering life. This policy has, however, been coupled with another wholly [completely] incompatible with its success. • 25. Compare The Reaction Between Mentos And Diet Coke Have you ever watched the reaction between Mentos and Diet Coke? Most people think it s a chemical reaction, but they re wrong. It s actually a physical reaction, meaning that all the substances to the reaction are still there, just rearranged. (Spurting Science) This physical reaction is caused by nucleation. Carbon dioxide is in the Diet Coke, trying to escape. It s looking for any nucleation sites it can attach to, like any bumps or crevices in the Mentos. When the Mentos are dropped into the Diet Coke, it disrupts the polar attractions between the water molecules. The carbon dioxide will begin to attach to the nucleation sites and form bubbles. The bubbles will quickly release from the Mentos and rise to the top. Carbon dioxide will continue to attach to the nucleation sites and the process will continuously repeat. Mentos are the best substance to use, because they are sprayed with 40 microscopic layers of sugar, which creates an abundance of nucleation sites. (Today I Found Out) (Eepy Bird) ... The cost of complexity is high and, in addition, complexity has led to the tax system having lost legitimacy as many people do not even really understand how much tax they should pay, let alone how much others should pay. The only known planet to have stable bodies of water to support life is Earth.1 All water however, is not pure H2O. Water often times has other compounds and chemicals mixed with it including salts. Over time plants and animals have adapted to how much salt it can consume and survive.1 These lifeforms that adapted to low salt concentrations live in freshwater habitats. Freshwater typically has a salt concentration of less than 1%.2 Although sometimes low, the salts that are most commonly found in water are formed with the cations Ca2+ and Mg2+.3 Water hardness is a measure of the concentration of calcium and/or magnesium ions in water.3 Water becomes hard as it drains through limestone, dolomite and other minerals. A high concentration of these ions results in a hard water sample, while a low concentration is soft.4 Water hardness is important in that it can cause many problems. The equation below shows how calcium can create problems. Calcium bicarbonate → Calcium carbonate + Water + Carbon dioxide Ca(HCO3)2 → CaCO3 + H2O + CO2 3 Calcium carbonate, also known as scale,is sometimes referred to as one of the banes of industry 4. The orchestra ability to match the emotions of the song or scene was very beneficial in letting the audience know of Tony and Maria s undying love for each other in Tonight through the use of light and upbeat notes or Anita s anger in A Boy Like That which uses harsher notes. The effects of the characters emotions would not have been as evident if the instrumentals they sang along too didn t match the emotions they felt. Although the play is surrounded by dark themes, there are musical numbers with a tinge of comedic value such as in America where Rosalia praises Puerto Rico through phrases such as Puerto Rico, you lovely island and Anita retorts back Puerto Rico, you ugly island or Gee Officer Krupke where the Jets are joking as to what to say to Officer Krupke ending the song with Gee, Officer Krupke. Krup you! . In many of the musical numbers, there seems to be a kid friendly approach as profanity is nowhere to be found with the replacement of words such as Buggin in the Jet Songs although slurs such as spic and brown boy fill the script. Besides the musical numbers, there were also sound effects in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Theme Analysis for Red Road and Rear Window Essay Essay Analysing the themes, which wore used in the film Red Road (2006), and also the surveillance, Misery and love and also explaining the directors (Andrea Arnold) decisions techniques. In this essay I am going to be analysing the themes, which have been used in the film Red road (2006) and compare it to rear window (1954). I will also be looking at the CCTV surveillance. I will also be looking at misery and love and how does this change the characters objective along the film. I will also be looking and explain the directors decision and techniques which she has used in this film. Andrea Arnold decision techniques with close ups and choice of vision in story telling via Jackie and the CCTV surveillance works well as it does ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This however turns out they just wanted to have sex with each other which Jackie soon finds out while she watches. Red road does engage the audience into watching what the actual character is watching with CCTV, which makes us, feel apart of the story and makes us want to keep on watching. CCTV surveillance does create tension as the audience do not know what will be happening as the CCTV footage is basically showing live events. In the opening of the film we as an audience are introduced to a female CCTV operator who happens to be Jackie. With this opening it kind of lets us know that this film is related to CCTV and that this female CCTV operator Jackie has a key part in the film. On the other hand although red road and CCTV surveillance is structured through the story I don t think it is necessarily about CCTV, It s more about Clyde and Jackie and unravelling past into her finding out what really happened and why he did what he did when he accidently killed her husband and daughter. Voyeurism Voyeurism is also used in this film. By voyeurism I mean the spying between Jackie and Clyde where she is pursing his every step and wanting to find out more information about him and the need to want to get very close to him. Voyeurism is a key element in how the story is told in red road. The reason for this being is due to the fact that we as an audience are introduced to a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Military Strategies During D-Day Introduction World War II was the world s deadliest conflict which lasted from 1939 to 1945. France and the majority of Western Europe were occupied by Nazi Germany in April 1940. While Britain and the Soviet Union fought against Germany and Italy, the United States of America did not join the war until the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour on December 7, 1941. After the attack on Pearl Harbour, Germany declared war on the United States of America, hence dragging the United States of America into World War II on the European continent. The Allied nations of the West started to plan an invasion on German territory. This plan took several years to materialize because it involved modern warfare technologies such as the organization of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Reconnaissance missions, studying and observing weather patterns and the ways the Allies kept the invasion a secret were also military strategies the Allies used to turn the tides of war. With reconnaissance planes, the Allies were able to scout the enemy s defensive positions. With the study of weather patterns in Normandy, the Allies were able to decide which day would have the least amount of wind, waves and clouds so transport ships would not sink and bombers would have a clearer view of their targets. How the Allies kept their plan a secret was also a strategy to not let the Germans know their true agenda. The research question, what were the Allies military strategies used in preparation of the Normandy landings? The analyses of the different strategies being used in preparation and during D Day will be shown in this essay. Operation Neptune was the first stage in the liberation of Western Europe and a major step in defeating Nazi Germany, it was one of the biggest turning points in World War II. The Allies were able to launch a successful invasion on the beaches of Normandy. With the liberation of the territory, the Allies were then able to pour in troops to Europe through France, liberate the rest of the occupied countries, and finally march onward to Berlin. The beaches of Normandy were a crucial part in the invasion, because it served as an opening point to move further into the heart of Europe. • 46. Why Is Austerity A Dangerous Idea I decided to read the book, Austerity: The History of a Dangerous Idea by Mark Blyth, which is about the turn to austerity in economic policy. The author argues that austerity is a dangerous idea for three main reasons: Austerity cannot work in practice. It imposes a disproportionate burden on poorer households.
